==========================================================================
1/10/07 - Version 1.00
Just got the FAQ swingin'. Looking good so far, I'm hoping to be done
soon. Finished Controls, Story, Contact, Legal, as well as a few other
things I had yet to do.
1/11/07 - Version 1.01
Some minor corrections, nothing big. Setting up for a huge update this
weekend.
1/12/07 - Version 1.11
Big, big, /big/ update. Worked on all of FAQ (I actually have it finished
on my comp), but it's in a crappy, non-user friendly format. I'll be
converting it by hand over the weekend.
1/13/07 - Version 1.21
Another huge update. Act 1 is finished. Also finished up to Mission 2 in
Act 2, with a bit of Mission 3 done as well. Started swordfighting section
in Tips and Tricks.
1/14/07- Version 1.31
The walkthrough is now finished, all the way to the end. Finished weapons,
added some tips and tricks, as well as a swordfighting/killing your
enemies section. Added some questions to the FAQ, if you have any more
contact me. This FAQ is now complete. I plan to be adding even more to it
when I get another Wii Remote (hopefully some time this week). I plan to
add both a Multiplayer section and Weapons section, hopefully expanding
the usefulness of this FAQ. Maybe even a sword move list area.
1/16/07- Version 1.32
Added how to save the pupils. I was acting lazy the day I wrote Act 3-2,
so I didn't add them. Sorry about that. >_< Also submitted this FAQ to
Gamerhelp.
1/25/07- Version 1.35
Got a few things to add over the weekend, but for now just adding a new
ASCII made by the great artist, 1337mangamaster.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
5.1 ACT 1: SATO'S LEGACY
=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 1-1: BLOODY SUNSET
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You start off the game with an aiming tutorial (Basically just point at
the fish Miyu points out). After this (and the comic cutscene that trails)
follow Miyu until another cutscene. A firefight will suddenly break out
after Miyu catches up with her dad. Follow the guard into the next room.
This will trigger a cutscene in which you are knocked out. When you wake
up, Miyu will be gone. Knock the glowing table over nearby, and grab the
P99 underneath. Head through the door that Miyu was taken through, then go
through the next door inside to hear the lamest line in the game- Hey,
there's another one left! Let's kill him!"
Grab the light body armor right in front of you, then take out all the
enemies in the room (You can push the tables over for cover, if you really
need to). Head through the next door, and kill the enemies in this room as
well. Walk up to the guard. He'll briefly inform you of the situation in a
small cutscene. Next, pick off the next group of enemies, and head through
the door just to the left of the beautiful view of the cityscape. After
the loading screen, go through the double doors and kill off all the
enemies in the kitchen. If you need some extra firepower, shoot at the
ovens for a decent explosion.
Go through the open door in the back of the kitchen, and pick up the
second weapon in the game, the Uzi. Next, shoot the glowing propane tanks
in the corridor to blast open a new walkway, then hop over the debris.
Take out all the enemies in this room as you proceed up the flights of
steps to the very top floor of the hotel. At the highest point, follow the
pathway through to the electric room, and go through the back door. It
leads you to the rooftop. Kill the enemy guarding Sato, then walk up to
him to trigger a cutscene. Sato will now be with you for a little while.
Climb the ladder to get over to the other side of the rooftop, and rid the
area of all enemies. Once they're all defeated, walk over to the only door
and Sato will open it. Follow him inside it until you reach the elevator.
Cue comic scene. While you're in the elevator, you will be attacked from
outside. Crouch to get out of the elevator. When you get out, you'll see a
sword on the ground and grab it. Then an enemy will come and engage you in
your very first swordfight. It's basically a tutorial. You'll have to
attack him 6 times, then dodge him 6 times in a row. After that, you can
finish him off as you see fit (If you have any problems with
swordfighting, check out my swordfighting tips in Tips and Tricks).
At any rate, once the swordfight is over, go left from the elevator. Kill
over the enemies in this hallway, then head through the door. Use a melee
attack (Swing the nunchuk) to clear the way, and walk into the next room
for another swordfight. This guy is, unlike the other enemy, defensive.
You must parry his attack 6 times (using the Nunchuk), then destabilize
him 6 times (This is difficult. You want to hit his sword right before it
hits yours for the best results). After you've done this, finish him off.
Next, go through the next few hallways (they're really straightforward)
and head through the last door on the right.
Kill all the enemies in this room. There are tables for cover, should you
deem it necessary. Next, head through the door behind the bar table. Walk
down the hallway, turn left, and pass through the unlocked door. Mission
complete!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 1-2: FIRE ESCAPE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a cutscene where Miyu is reunited with Sato, they'll make their
escape. Your job is to protect this suite for 200 seconds, killing every
enemy that appears. Be aware of all the doors in the area that the enemies
come through. Use pillars and corners for cover... just make sure you do
not leave the main area of the suite until the time is over. Some enemies
here will drop the M4 Shotgun for you to use. After the time is over, go
through the door where the steps to the first floor end (The double
doors), and follow the pathway. When you turn right, go straight forward
through the giant glass door. Grab the light armor near the piano, then
turn around and go back out the door. Head through the closet door on your
immediate left.
Inside, turn left to proceed into the laundry room. Kill the enemies here
(Two of them will come out of the garage door dead ahead so be careful),
then go through the door on the right. Now you're in the washer room. Take
out all the enemies here. There's quite a few, so use all the cover you
can find, and be conscious of your health. Once they're all taken care of,
head through the door on the polar opposite side of where you came in
from, sweeping out all the enemies inside as you progress down the
hallway. Head through the next closet door, and defeat all the enemies
here as well. Next, proceed through the giant glass door to enter a
swordfight. After it's over, kill the enemies that enter the room, and
proceed down the door to the hallway.
Another swordfight. After you've taken care of him, take the elevator down
to the parking lot (It will take you automatically, just hit the button
inside the elevator to go down). Once you're down at the bottom, walk
straight through the next door. After a brief cutscene, a time limit will
appear on the top of your screen. You have that much time to get to the
next level of the parking garage. Walk straight out into the area and go
through the door ahead. Proceed up the steps to the next floor, defeating
any opposition. You'll see the car go up to the next floor. You must do
the same. Turn right, kill the enemies and go through the door on the
right. Inside, go up the stairs and they will lead you to the next floor.
You must do this a total of four times. Each floor because increasingly
more difficult with more enemies, so be careful. At the very top floor,
head straight through the door. See the car driving out? Shoot it to make
it explode. The driver will get out and challenge you to a swordfight.
Once you've done him over, you'll watch a comic scene. Mission complete!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 1-3: ANGEL'S HEAVEN
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a brief cutscene in the front office, enemies will come in. Kill
them all, and once they're all defeated, head through the hallway they
came from in the back. Proceed through the hallways until you come across
more enemies. Take them out, then walk through the doorway behind the bar.
Walk up the steps, and kill off all the enemies in this area as well. Go
through the doors here to reach the surveillance room. Here, take the
glowing key card on the wall and grab the MP412 if you want. Backtrack out
to the bar area, and kill the new enemies that have appeared. Next, go
back even more, and you'll see a room with a bonsai tree plant on the
table in the middle.
Here, you'll see a glowing switch on the wall. Press it, and go through
the newly opened doorway. If you want to see a funny cutscene, walk up to
the people in the jacuzzi, then go up the walkway and through the gated
door in the corner. See the glowing switch at the fork in the hallway?
Ignore it for now, but remember its location. Go left, and through the
door there. Defeat every enemy in the hallway, then go through the only
unlocked door and into the "Cleopatra Room". Take out the cameraman
(Naughty naughty! :P) and shoot the glowing box on the wall in the camera
room. Go back out into the hallway through the door you came from, and
turn left. Go into the door straight ahead (the "Luxury Room").
Inside here, walk through the doorway on the right and you'll be in the
"Candy Room". Shoot the colorful window in front of the bed and jump in
for ammo if you need it, then hop back out and go through the next
doorway, leading to the "Disco Room". In this room, kill the cameraman,
jump into the camera room, and shoot the slowing electric box on the wall.
Grab the light armor in the room, then go back out to the main hallway via
the door. Now, remember that glowing switch we ignored earlier? Backtrack
to it, as it will now be unlockable. Go through it, and you'll watch a
quick cutscene with Angel. She'll run off, and leave some enemies for you
to take out. Once they're all killed, go up the steps to the second floor
of the room.
At the top, turn left and go past the computer to another door. Kill the
enemy inside and break the glass behind him. Fall down (Don't worry,
you'll land in a stopped elevator allowing you to continue). Grab the
light armor on the bench directly ahead, then kill off all the enemies
throughout the rooms. It doesn't matter which direction you take here,
they all lead to the same door. Once they're all dead, grab the second
light armor on a bench and go through the door to the next area. Continue
into the next hallway, and defeat the enemies here. Walk past the pool and
carry onward into another hallway. You'll see a brief cutscene of an enemy
taunting you. Take out all of the men before proceeding through the door.
Here, you'll see Angel. Walk up to her to trigger another cutscene. She'll
end up distracting you by breaking a pipe open (causing steam to pour
out). Kill the enemies, then go up the steps and through the next door.
Head outside and take out the enemies in the alley. The camera will them
zoom in on Angel, hiding behind the card door. Walk up to her. Mission
complete!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 1-4: EXTREME WHEELS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the very beginning, you will be engaged in a swordfight. He's using a
bat, so watch out for hard hits. After he's done for, walk through the
door to the inside of the building. Listen to the enemies talking, then
kill them as you see fit. Turn left, and rid this room of all baddies as
well. Go through the door behind the store counter. In the next room
you'll find ammo on the shelves, if you need it. Regardless, go up the
steps and step outside. Use the height to your advantage and take out all
the enemies in this lot. If you need extra firepower, shoot the cars and
they will explode, causing immense splash damage.
Jump down to the bottom level, and press the glowing control panel to move
the crane. When you do this, an enemy or two will show up. Kill 'em off,
then go back up to the top floor via the only door (it will take you to
the ammunitions stock room I mentioned before), and once you're back up on
the catwalk, take care of the newly spawned enemies. Now walk across the
thin crane to the other side, and enter the side hall via the window. Walk
down the hall. Before you go through the door straight ahead, though, turn
to the right and look in the room for some light armor and a new toy, the
Type 12 gun. No go ahead and go through the door.
Kill off the enemies in this room. There are more cars that you can
explode as well, and there are also some gasoline canisters scattered
around that have some nice firepower. Go up the door on the left of the
room (It has two signs next to it, one of a man and one of a shower).
Enter the door leading to the shower room, pick up the glowing key pass on
the bench, and backtrack to the big area you were just in. Kill the
enemies that spawn, then go through the area that the enemies came from
(It's a narrow hallway near the yellow "lifter machines" :P). In the next
room, defeat all the enemies. If you need ammo, go up the steps near the
door you came from and grab it in the small office.
After your foes have been terminated, go over to the blue glowing switches
and press them. They're by the red truck and orange sportscar, the only
two cars that will not blow up if you shoot them. Climb on top of them and
use them to get to the next floor, then proceed through the door there.
Grab the light armor on the chair near the computer, then press the
glowing switch to open the next door. After a loading screen, go down the
steps. Walk into the next area and kill off all the baddies. If you went
outside while killing them, go back into the room you came from and look
behind the back door for some light armor. Now go through the back door
and pick up the Scar in the back corner, easily the best weapon in the
game.
From here, walk out in the main area and enter the door on the left side
(It has a "No Parking" sign next to it if you have trouble locating it),
then walk down the hallway. You are now in the heart of a car wash. Press
the glowing switch on the wall here, and the white truck in the center of
the room will go through it. :P Follow it and pick off all the enemies
that pop up through the windows, using the truck as cover. If you run out
of ammo, there's an unlimited supply of Scar ammo in the back of the white
truck. Mind your health on this part, and don't be afraid to run and hide
until your health regenerates.
Once the truck is finished with the car wash, hop over it and proceed into
the next room, killing the enemies all the way. Go to the left of the
giant "No Smoking" sign and go through the door. Pick up the Light Armor
under the steps before you go up them, into the surveillance room. If you
need Scar ammo, pick it up here. Hit the glowing blue switch, and head
back downstairs for a swordfight. This is the swordfight where you learn
how to damage swords. Right after you dodge, swing your Nunchuk
immediately to damage their sword. It only works on normal attacks; do not
try this on a powerful, fierce attack (When their sword has a red glow) or
it could damage your own.
After you've taken care of the opponent, walk through the newly opened
door and head down the hallway. Continue through the door you find there.
At the fork, go right (the other way is a dead end) and walk through the
door to trigger another swordfight. And a lame one at that. Seriously,
this guy's gotta be some sort of 50 Cent rip off. At any rate, take care
of him and go through the door he came from (on the left). Take the light
armor on the desk, and go back outside. Enter the double doors on your
left from here, and walk through for a loading screen.
After it's finished loading, enter through the red double doors. Turn
left, and follow the path until it dead ends for some light armor. Next,
go back to the door and go right. Shoot the pile of boxes blocking your
path to clear the way, then walk into the main area of the room,
slaughtering your foes around and above you. Once they're taken care of,
look in the right corner of the room. There will be a flight of stairs. To
get to it, stand back and shoot the boxes blocking your path. Now go up
the steps and follow the walkway. Eventually you'll come to a new room,
and watch a quick cutscene of Ryuichi holding Miyu. Follow the path to the
room Ryuichi was at and open the door to see them going down the elevator.
Walk to the elevator and turn around. Go through the green-lit door.
From here, walk to the next area to see one last clip of Ryuichi and Miyu.
You now have 150 seconds to get out. Kill off all the enemies in the
vicinity, then walk into the center of the room for a swordfight. Take
care of them, then enter the second door from the left (The one with the
flashing yellow light above it). Mission complete!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 1-5: BROKEN WING
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You start inside a truck. After listening to the baddies talk, you'll be
discovered. Take them out, and wreak havoc on the rest of the enemies in
the room. If you need the extra firepower to do so, shoot the small green
boxes. When the place is clean, head to the conveyor belt and hop on. It
will take you into the next room. Jump off the belt as soon as you are in,
and take out the enemies in the room. One of them may drop a light armor
for you. From where you came in the area at, turn right and go up the
steps into the small room in the center. Grab the light armor on the desk,
and press the glowing button. Now hop down and get on the nearest conveyor
belt; it will take you to the opening with the flashing yellow light above
it.
In this room, you'll be challenged to a swordfight. Take him out, then go
through the green lit door into the next room. Kill all the enemies in
this room, then walk up the only conveyor belt in the room. Go up the
slant, and grab the light armor on the shelves to the right. Hop down and
look around for a caged elevator (It has a huge caution sign next to it).
Hit the glowing switch to bring down the elevator, and once inside, hit
the other switch to bring you up to the second floor. Take out all the
enemies, then go left, through the door. After the loading screen, go
through the next door. Kill the guy directly ahead, and grab the AE Rifle,
aka the sniper.
Go through the next door. The camera will then zoom in on Miyu. Use the
sniper to pick off the enemies, then go down the walkway to the bottom
floor. Make sure you take out all the enemies or you'll have a hard time.
On your descent, you should see a room on your left. Shoot open the
window, and hop inside. Grab the light armor inside and hop back out. Run
across the last catwalk to Miyu. Walk near her to cue a cutscene. Kill the
enemy that walks in, then press the glowing switch to the left. Head into
the next room and hop down. Grab some ammo if you need it, then proceed
through the double doors. Take out the enemy and grab some grenades. The
game will teach you how to use them. Basically, just hold Down on the D-
Pad to bring one out, and swing the Nunchuk to throw it.
Head left and throw a few grenades into the corridor below (Make sure you
run back to the grenade stockpile to load up again), then head through the
corridor, picking off all enemies you come across. It's a long hall, so
just stick with it. At the end of the corridor, you'll watch a cutscene,
ending with you being challenged to a swordfight. After you do him over,
go through the flap curtains the enemy came from and proceed down the
hallway, killing all the enemies. If you run low on grenades, there's a
stockpile here. Don't miss it. When you reach the end, before you go
through the door dead ahead turn right and grab the light armor in the
little room. Now go through the door.
After a loading screen, walk forward and climb up the ladder. Kill the
enemies in the room, walk past the planes, and take the green lit door in
the back corner of the room. Walk straight down the hallway, and open the
next door to get outside. Walk a bit forward for yet another swordfight.
Finish them off, then turn right. Kill the enemies on the catwalk, then go
up the steps to the top and enter the door there. Grab the sniper if you
didn't have it already, and use it to clear the area of all enemies. Once
done, take the steps down to the room below and go through the door
inside. Go down the steps and take the door on the right. Walk down the
hallway and before you do anything else turn right.
See the group of circuit breakers? Walk to the wall directly ahead and
turn to the left, then step through the gap between the breakers and the
wall. Hidden by all of those breakers is some light armor. Now, go back
out and head down the rest of the passageway. Climb up the ladder to
encounter a swordfight, followed by another one. This one is against
Ryuichi; you can't really "fight" him. You'll lose automatically, as you
can't fight back. Don't worry, it's part of the story. Once he defeats
you, watch the cutscene. Mission complete! After this mission is over and
you watch the comic scene/cutscene, Sato's friend will teach you how to
perform Musashi's Hammer. To do it, press the Z button, then swing the
Nunchuk and the Wii Remote down simultaneously. Do this move three times
on him.
-------------------------------------------
Sub-mission 1: Training School/Harry's club
-------------------------------------------
When you arrive at the training school, cross over the water and walk up
to the guard. He will allow you to pass. Go through the main gate and into
the next room. Here you will be greeted. Walk up to the wooden sword in
the room to take it. You will now swordfight the girl. You must perform
Musashi's Hammer 3 times on her to end the match and trigger a comic
cutscene. After the scene, you'll be at Harry's bar. Walk through the
hallway, and pick up the (obviously drunk) man's gun. Kill the enemies in
the bar to cue a cutscene. After it ends, more enemies will come from the
elevator. Kill them, and take the same elevator upstairs.
In this room, take out all the enemies first, then go through the door in
the back (It has two dragon statues on either side of it). Inside you'll
have to swordfight the enemy. Win the fight, and you'll get to meet Harry.
Go back downstairs and talk to the bartender. He will open up a secret
room. Head through it and talk to the man below to have him introduce
himself. Now he will challenge you to a target test. Hit at least 80% of
the targets in the shooting range in under 30 seconds. If you can succeed
in doing so, he will invite you to another room. Here, he will teach you
about going into Focus Time. Shoot the targets to fill up your Focus Bar,
then go into Focus Time. This is done by holding A and pushing your Wii
Remote forward at the same time. In Focus Time mode, tag your enemies with
the fire button, and they will get hit when you leave Focus Time mode.
Now you must practice disarming an enemy. In this example, your rival
is... the janitor... :P Anyhow, go into Focus Time mode and tag his broom.
Doing so will cause the janitor to surrender. Once he does this, wave the
white cursor up and down to signal it to him. This is a useful tactic you
can use on any enemies in the future. Now, follow your new friend and he
will open the ammunitions storage, allowing you to stock yourself up on
ammo. Talk to him again and he will give you a new gun to try out on the
targets. Hit 80% and the 45 caliber will show up in the ammo room. Repeat
to unlock the Uzi, as well. Once you're done here, walk back up to the
bar. Sub-mission complete!

5.2 ACT 2: THE PATH OF THE KATANA GIRI
=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 2-1: BURNING TRASH
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the start, head through the foliage straight ahead. Kill the enemy
under the tower, and take his sniper. Use it to clear the area of baddies.
When the coast is clear, walk down the steps to the floor below and turn
left. Walk up the small flight of steps directly ahead, then hit the
glowing switch to reveal the next passageway. Defeat the enemies in this
area, then go up the ladder to get to the next room. Kill all the enemies
in the room, then go through the green lit door. Next, head down the
hallway, grab the heavy armor, and continue to the door. Rid the room of
all the bad guys, and use the ramps to reach the top of the room.
Grab the AE Rifle if needed, and jump into one of the trash carriers. Now,
you must ride in this trash carrier until you reach the next room. Many
enemies will come and try to kill you. You can either fight back or try to
duck away and hide (This does not always work, the walls are not 100% safe
cover). Either way, once you make it in to the next room, jump down at the
conveyor belt and walk along it. Get off on the right (Just before the
green laser wall, DO NOT TOUCH IT) and kill the enemies. Press the blue
glowing switch to turn off the green laser, then travel downwards on it
further. You'll come across another station just like the one before. Get
off before the laser again and do the same as before, killing the enemies
and pressing the blue glowing switch. Proceed downwards on the conveyor
belt.
Jump off at the bottom (don't get too close to the fire) and take out the
enemies. Shoot the broken vent and crouch through it, avoiding any
electrical sparks. Use the caged area in the vent to kill off the enemies,
then follow the vent until you drop down below. Stock up on ammo and
grenades, then go through the green lit door. Here, kill all the enemies
in the room (You can blow up the center generators for firepower, just
make sure you stand back... they hurt). After they are all dead, go
through the newly opened door and through the hallway into the next room.
Turn left when you come in the door, and walk behind the desk. Pick up the
glowing key pass.
Kill the enemies that come in, then go through where they came from. Walk
up the steps to the left of the fans, and go through the green door. Press
the glowing switch to get into the surveillance room. Once inside, press
the glowing blue switch (ignore the helpless guy :P). After the loading
screen, walk into the next room and destroy all the enemies. Shoot the
giant pipes for some extra boom. :D Now walk over to the steps, grab the
light armor underneath them, and travel up. From the stairs, turn left.
Walk to the wall, then turn right. See the narrow metal bar spaced between
here and the other side? Walk across it, then walk over to the glowing
blue switch and hit it.
You now have a limited amount of time to escape the factory before it
explodes. Follow the newly opened pathway to engage in a swordfight. Win
the fight, then look for a hole in the fenced perimeter. Go through it and
climb the ladder. Walk along the pipes, then jump into the elevator. Press
the glowing blue switch to start ascending. On your way up, kill the
enemies that go by for some extra target practice. >:D Once you reach the
very top, walk across the big pipe ahead and drop into it via the hole.
Shoot the net covering on the pipe to break through, and proceed until
your route is blocked.
Jump over to the platform, defeat all the enemies in the area. Walk across
the piping and climb up the ladder. Kill the enemies, then continue down
the inside of the giant pipe. When you get close to the fan, you will drop
out of the pipe. Don't worry, there's no way you can hit the fan. Now that
you're outside, walk down the platform. Watch your step here, though, as a
fiery explosion will burst out of the wall on your right. If you are
caught in its blast, you will die. Just go slowly. Continue along the path
to the boat hanger, and hop inside. See the two glowing restraints holding
the boats up? Shoot 'em, and use them as islands to hop across the water
to the other side. Once you're over, grab the light armor and stock up on
ammo/grenades.
Go left, and down the hallway to cue a short cutscene. Now you'll have to
face some enemies. Take them out, then climb up the ladder on the green
cargo shipment, drop down the other side, and climb up the steps. Go up
the ladder on the boat, and rid the area of all baddies. Once you're good
to go, use the steps on the left side of the boat to go down to the main
floor. From here on out, follow the path laid out amongst the storage
(It's quite linear), taking out all opposition. Next, go through the
little "tunnel" and on the other side you'll trigger a cutscene. More
enemies to kill... with a time limit... yay!
Once they're all put out, use the boxes as stepping stones to get to the
top level and up to the helicopter before the time limit expires.
You ready to fight Ryuichi for real? Now's your chance. Once you win,
you'll watch a cutscene where... uhh... I don't want to spoil anything, so
let me just say it's cool and has to do with ninjas. Mission complete!
-------------------------------------------
Sub-mission 2: Harry's club
-------------------------------------------
You'll be back at Harry's bar. Walk through the hallway and go through the
door to the bartender. After a brief cutscene, use the elevator to go
upstairs, and walk up to Harry. He'll inform you of the situation. Walk up
to the meeting to watch a cutscene. After it's over, go back down to the
bar area. Talk to any of the members to choose a mission. The game has an
official order which is what this FAQ is written for, but if you want do
it differently, then that's fine. It's completely up to you. Also (for the
rest of Act 2), in between each mission you can visit the training school
to see if you can learn any skills, as well as visit the ammo bunker in
the bar to unlock weapons for your weapons closet. After you're done, you
must talk to another Yakuza to get a new mission.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 2-2 FISH MARKET
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the start, walk up to the man behind the counter. After a brief
cutscene, you'll be greeted by a few enemies. Take them out, then jump
over the counter and go through the back door of the kitchen. Press the
glowing switch to open the garage door, and kill the enemies in the next
string of hallways. Just before the next large area is a little office
room. Jump into it and grab the light armor, then clear out the next large
room of enemies. Walk up to the area filled with boxes for a swordfight,
then go through the door the enemy came from. Walk through the next door
inside, as well. Jump outside via the window, and kill all the enemies
that have spawned. When the coast is clear, turn left and walk along the
thin plank to grab the heavy armor.
Now turn around and look at the windows. You came through the one on the
left, but there's another one on the right. Hop through it for another
swordfight. Let him live, and follow him downstairs and outside. Loading
screen. Now, walk down the pathway and clear out the yakuza scum in the
next area. Use the steps in the back corner to get in the boat, the
Sakatemaru. Once inside, go left and follow the corridors. Doors will keep
closing on your left and right, just keep going. Eventually you'll end up
in a freezer room, and the door will close behind you by one cruel enemy.
:P You get knocked out from the cold; there is nothing you can do.
When you wake up, listen to the enemies talk, then push the wooden desk in
the room out of the way and hop down. Crawl through the sickening, fish-
guts-filled passageway, then hop down to the door below. Grab the gun and
the sword, and shoot the glowing lock on the door. Pass through it and
eliminate all opposition, then walk up to the steps to the next door. Kill
the single enemy in the room, then go through yet another door. Here, an
foe will walk directly by you without noticing. Take him out, then proceed
through the hall wiping all of them out. Stop in the office room to pick
up some light armor, then go right from the locked glowing switch (You
can't hit it just yet, but remember its location).
Open the door into the next room and kill all of the enemies. Progress
down the long room and go up the steps in the left corner, into the next
room (It's a green "exit" door). Defeat the enemies here, then go through
the next green exit door. Press the glowing blue switch in this room, then
backtrack to the locked door in the hallway (The one we ignored). Press
the glowing switch to open the garage door and allow yourself to proceed.
Open the second garage door, then kill off all the enemies in this storage
room. When you're done, walk behind the bright lights and press the
glowing switch to open another door. In this room, walk forward to engage
in a swordfight.
This opponent is using your sword, the Katana Giri. Defeat him to get it
back, but let him live. He will tell you where Miyu is. She's on the boat
you were "frozen" on before. Next, walk through the door ahead, and after
the loading screen, open the garage door and walk straight down the
hallway to enter another swordfight. Defeat him, and then go back into the
Sakatemaru via the same steps we used before. Go through the corridors and
turn left at the open doorway. Eliminate the baddies, then go through the
left doorway and grab the heavy armor. Do the same to the enemies here,
then from the heavy armor, go through the door on the left and follow the
path down.
Head through the corridors and turn left at the open doorway. Kill all the
enemies in the room below (Grenades are extremely helpful from here since
you're on higher ground), then jump down to their level. Grab the light
armor on the desk, then kill the enemies in the next corridor and proceed.
You'll come across a cutscene. Kill the last enemy. Mission complete!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 2-3: TETSUO'S GAMES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the start, walk forward through the street and turn left. Walk up to
the gambling establishment and go in. Turn left at the--uhh... rabbit?--
and go through the kitten flap. Kill all the enemies, then walk through
the bead passageway behind the computer desk. Kill all the enemies in the
room. One of them will drop a key pass. Take it, then take the hallway in
the back right corner of the room. Head down and press the glowing switch
to open the door. Kill off the enemies in this room, then press the
glowing switch to bring down the elevator. Ride the elevator up to the
next floor.
Go left from the elevator, and walk through the door. Take out the
baddies, then push open the sliding glass door. Go left, and up the
ladder. Go through the next door to find yourself in a swordfight. Win the
fight, and watch the cutscene afterwards. You're now in the craziest level
I have /ever/ seen in an FPS. Your goal? To survive. Go over to the soda
machine and press the button on it. A gun and sword will come out for you
to use. Shoot one of the windows and hop outside into the "winterscape".
Walk through the "sky" flaps to the right of the snow machine, and fire at
the bomb-barrel...thing... but stand back, the blast has a huge splash
zone. Anyway, hitting the barrel will blow up the boxes, allowing you to
pass. Ignore the door, and continue past the "anime girl".
In the next room, jump down to the bottom floor via a hole on the left.
Kill all the enemies in the area (You can shoot the giant hanging rabbits
and they will fall on unnoticing targets). Go up the steps on the right to
find some heavy armor. Once you've cleaned the room of targets, go down
the slope, and walk through the crack in the storage boxes on the right.
Watch the quick cutscene, then go up the ladders ahead. Next, jump into
the elevator at the top. Walk down the hallway, turn left, and continue
along until you reach a surveillance room. Press the glowing blue switch
there, then turn around and walk up to the soda machine in the previous
room. It will move away, allowing you to pass through a (creepy) hallway.
Walk up the door. You'll break through the floor beneath you, into another
room. Kill the enemies here (They're dressed up as the anime girl, haha!
Don't mix them up with the models strewn about the room), then head down
the pathway to the door with the big green arrow above it. From the rabbit
ahead, turn right, then left, then left one more time. Take out the
enemies (It's completely dark, but their heads are pure white... that's
where want to aim) as you continue down the corridors. There's no forks or
branches, so it should be pretty easy to navigate. Keep going until you
see a ladder illuminated by a red light. Climb up it, and at the top walk
straight ahead.
Pick up the armor between the generators, and press the glowing blue lever
to restore the power to the area. Walk through the next area. If you like
pretty colors, shoot the barrels; otherwise continue along. Turn right
when you come to the fork, and walk into the elevator to go back to the
slope area. Now, there are tons of snipers in this area. Walk back through
the crack in the boxes, and kill the snipers on your right. Use their
sniper to take out the two enemies sniping you from the top of the slope
(One's on the left, one's on the very right). After they die, two more
will come up. One's on the platform where you picked up the heavy armor,
and the other stands just below his location. Take 'em out.
When the coast is clear (Don't ignore them, you will most definitely die
on the way up), walk up the slope. Immediately bunnies will rain down upon
you, and will kill you instantly with a direct hit. So, to stay alive, hug
the right wall as closely as you can. They rarely go over there, so you
should make it up just fine. Once up, go to the left side and take the
steps up, then jump in a cable car when it gets near enough. Ride the
cable car all the way to the bottom of the slope and follow the platform
into the log cabin for some heavy armor and a Type 89 if needed. Now, get
back in the cable car and ride it up to the top again, but don't get off
where you initially got on. Instead, ride it to the platform with the huge
red arrow on it (It will stop there temporarily allowing you to hop over)
Defeat the baddies in the area, then stand in the center of the four
arrows to trigger a cutscene. You now have to swordfight... power ranger
rip offs? O__o Take care of the green one first, then walk into the green
light to fight the purple one. Once they're taken care of, face the
rabbit. Turn to the right and go down the pink-gray tunnel. See the door
on the left with the green arrow above it? Go through it to cue another
cutscene. From here, walk down the hallway (Watch your left for the lizard
man, he will attack you), but before you turn to the right and continue,
look in the left for a grenade. Now go right. Go through the door, turn
left, grab the light armor, then go into the next room on the right. In
this room, you can walk on the water without problems (in case you didn't
know). Clear the room of enemies.
Hop on the ice chunks in the back corner of the room (They're the only
ones that are stationary, and jump on the ice chunk on the left when it
moves in range. Grab the ammo, then jump onto the next ice chunk. Finally,
hop onto the one with the spinning penguin. Take the light armor and hop
off, proceeding over the hump to the next room. Jump over to the igloo and
crawl inside, grab the key there, and go back out into the main area. Open
the glowing lock, and enter the next room. Walk into the UFO cart and
listen to the instructions. You will now ride down the car track. Shoot
the glowing, floating rabbits or they will kill you instantly. There are
four in total. You can shoot them from a distance if necessary.
After the ride is over, follow the path ahead and jump over the boxes.
Kill the enemy in the doorway and walk forward for a cutscene. Now walk
through the door, and hop over the left hump. Kill all the enemies in the
area. Don't use the eggs for cover, they break easily and some of them
hold more enemies, adding to the mayhem. When it's clear, grab the heavy
armor attached to the anime girl, then hop back out to the main area. Go
to the other egg-filled side of the room, and do the same thing as before.
Grab the light armor on the anime girl here, and grab the key the other
model is holding. Jump back out into the center area and open the lock to
go into the next room.
Walk along the path and go through the door with the green arrow pointing
to it. Did you like those power rangers we fought? Here's some more for
ya, then! Take out the blue and red power rangers via swordfighting (Don't
worry, you don't fight them at the same time). After it's all said and
done, go through the door that opens (It has a green arrow pointing to
it). Mission complete!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 2-4: BUSINESS PLOT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the get-go, you get a call. Listen to the caller, then go through the
door. Walk out into a swordfight. Win the fight, then go through the door
with the big "SF" above it (Don't go upstairs). Follow the hallway and
open the glass door. Kill off all the enemies in the office area. One will
drop a key. Go up the steps on the other side of the room. Continue down
the hallway. Open the double doors and take out the enemies here. Go to
the door behind the front desk downstairs (the one with the glowing
control panel) and head through it. Walk out into the main area, and kill
off all the enemies. One will drop heavy armor, so watch for it. After
you're done, walk through the next door and proceed down the hallway for a
swordfight.
Take him out, then take the left or right elevator up (it doesn't matter,
they both lead to the same place). Rid the room of all enemies, then go
left from the elevators into another office room. Walk forward a bit and
turn right. Kill the enemy, then go down the open maintenance hall on your
left. Follow it and go out the door. You are now outside in a garden area.
Kill the snipers in the building to your right, then follow the concrete
path to another corridor. Proceed through for a brief cutscene, then a
swordfight, followed by another cutscene. You now have to protect Chiba by
killing all enemies that appear while he hacks the doors. Use the weapons
lying around if needed (especially the sniper). Chiba can die, so make </pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
sure this does not happen.
When it's all clear, face Chiba's desk. Go through the door on the right.
You now have 250 seconds to escape the garden area. Hid behind the walls
to make it past the initial hallway, then use foliage as cover while you
take them out. If you run low on time, just run and hope you live. At any
rate, get to the other side of the garden and go out the same maintenance
hall as before. Take the elevator down and go straight from the elevators
through the hallway ahead. Pass through the offices again, and continue
backtracking through the hallway. Kill the enemies that show up. The
mission should now be complete. If it isn't, go into the room you started
the mission in. Mission complete!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 2-5: GEISHA HOUSE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you can move, head right along the street, past the drunk man. Walk
behind the truck. Hop up the boxes to get over the wall, and kill all the
enemies in the vicinity. Walk up to one of the windows on either side of
the locked double doors, and press it to open it. Hop inside and open the
next door for a swordfight. Kill him, then open any of the doors (other
than the one you came in at) Defeat all the enemies in the area. You can
shoot through the glass doors. Walk forward into the room with the
overturned tables, and head through the doorway in the back. Go straight,
then go through the door on the right. Go up the steps and kill off all
the enemies (one will drop some light armor). Walk through the door for
another swordfight, followed by a cutscene.
Go through the door in the left corner, and walk down the hallway. Walk
outside, and clear the area of baddies. Go down the alleyway in the back-
right corner, and head through the doorway (It has a yellow construction
sign next to it). Kill the enemies and jump over the barricades. More
enemies to slaughter; they're above you, so grab cover and fire away.
Climb up the ladder, and finish off even more enemies. When the coast is
finally clear, go right and follow the walkway to the next alley. Jump
down to the door with the white lights around it. After the loading
screen, walk through the door behind the desk. See the little room
directly ahead? To get in, jump and crouch in midair. Inside is some heavy
armor. Hop back out and go through the red double doors.
Take out the enemies, then jump onto the center platform to swordfight the
woman. After you've won the battle, walk through the "Musashi Club" flap
door for yet another swordfight. Take her out, then talk to the geishas.
Head through the double doors, and walk outside. Clear the street of
enemies, then go through the door in the back right corner (it's marked by
a flashing purple arrow above it). Press the switch to open the garage
door. Walk down the street, and kill all the enemies in the area. Shoot
the white truck to kill off a few of them off the bat. Go into the kitchen
in the very back right corner of the street and grab the light armor, then
go back out and follow the road to the dead end.
Turn let and go through to the alley. Shoot the propane tanks to open the
gate, and head through the red door. Go through the double doors on your
right to find some grenades and a Type 89 behind the desk (that is, if you
need it), then go back out where you came from and head right. Walk into
the electronics room, grab the heavy armor on the counter, and proceed
into the next room, slaying all the enemies. An enemy will soon come down
an elevator. Kill him, then go to the right and hop over the bar table.
Grab the light armor on the floor, then go up the elevator that enemy
previously came from. Swordfight the girl, then go through the door to the
right of the elevator. Proceed down the steps into the next area.
Another swordfight. Defeat her, then walk up to the geishas for a
cutscene. Go through the door your rival came from, and out the double
doors. Watch a brief cutscene, then kill the enemies that show up in the
street. These guys are hard to take down, but keep at it and they will go.
Concentrate on one at a time, and use any cover you can find. Another
cutscene, followed by a boss swordfight. Your opponent has a bar above
their health that you've never seen before. That's her resistance meter.
You can't cause any damage to her while it's up. Hit her until her
resistance goes down, then you can cause her damage for a short while
until it goes back up again. This is a difficult swordfight, so don't feel
bad if you lose a couple of times in the process. If you have a lot of
trouble, make sure you visit the "Swordfighting" section under Tips and
Tricks. Win the swordfight. Mission complete!

5.3 ACT 1: THE GHOSTS OF THE SANRO KAI
=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 3-1: BLIND DATE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Note: This mission will only occur after you finish all of the Act 2
missions. If you haven't finished them all, the Sanro Kai members will
still be on the bar floor)
Walk into the bar and go up the elevator, as we did before. Walk into the
conference room ahead. Cue long cutscene. You are betrayed by Harry, and
are knocked out by him. You will now be in a room deep within the bar.
When you can move, go left and walk around the machines, hugging the wall.
Take the wooden sword from the model, then go back into the center of the
room to swordfight the guard enemy. You have no second sword for parrying
for this match. Just dodge his hits and attack when you can. Win the
battle, but let him live and he'll give you a tip: in the cellar there are
some weapons you can use. I'll tell you how to get them when the time
comes.
Go through the green door, grab the gun, and walk to the wall. Turn right
and go down the steps. Open the door. Ignore the locked door and go right.
Open the door directly ahead, and kill all the enemies in the room (Grab
some ammo ASAP). In the back left corner of the room, there is a key pass.
Grab it and backtrack to the locked door we ignored before. Proceed
through it, and go up the elevator. Walk down the steps and kill the
enemies above you. Load up on ammo if you need it, then head through the
door on the left. You are now in the shooting range. Kill the enemies
taking shots at you, then jump over the counter. Turn left and walk
forward for a cutscene with your friend. When it ends, go down the new
hallway and defeat the enemies in the next room.
Walk along the room into the next passageway, and proceed through the flap
door for a swordfight. After you win, look around on the shelves until you
see a glowing wine bottle. Press it, and it will open up the secret cellar
room the guard told us about. Load up, then climb up the ladder and head
through the next door. Kill off all the enemies in the dance club, then go
up the steps in the right corner and follow the hallway to the bar
entrance. In the bar, go up the elevator then walk around the conference
room to Harry's office. Now you get to have your revenge on Harry. This is
a rather long swordfight, and from here on out the swordfights are more
difficult. After three normal attacks he will perform a power attack.
Parry his three moves, then dodge the final one or it will damage your
sword.
Win the fight but let him live. He will open up a compartment with some
weapons (notably the scar), ammo, and heavy armor. Leave the office
through the door you came from. Mission complete!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 3-2: NIGHT OF THE KOMORIS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Walk up to the front of the building and enter. Note the near dead guy out
front. :P Go in to the main area, and kill off all the enemies. Yay,
ninjas! Anyways, once it's clear, face the steps. Go up to the right and
enter the sliding door (The left side has a sliding door too, housing some
ammo if needed). Grab the heavy armor, then go back to the central room.
Facing the steps again, walk to the left of the fire (don't go upstairs),
through the green passage. Walk down the hallway, and open the door. Walk
forward for a brief cutscene of a pupil asking you to save them. This is
an entirely optional quest, but I'll tell how to do it anyway.
Walk through the next door and immediately kill all the enemies before
they defeat the pupil. That's one saved. Now, from where you entered there
was a pathway going left. Go down it and into a little room on the left.
Talk to the pupil. That's two. He'll open a closet door with some Heavy
Armor. Now go back out to the hallway where you rescued the first pupil.
Go through the sliding door on the right, then through another door
straight ahead. Make sure you take out the enemies as you go. Walk down
the hallway to the dead end, and open the sliding door on your left. Kill
the enemies in the room and grab the key on the table. Talk to the pupil.
That's three saved. Now, Before you leave the room via the door you came
from, go up the ladder in the back of the room and grab the light armor.
In the hallway again, turn right, walk straight then turn right at the
door. Go through it. Swordfight! This time, it's against a ninja! Yay,
ninjas! :P Take him out, then kill the enemies that show up after the
battle. Climb the ladder and grab the heavy armor, then drop back down to
the courtyard. Go through the opened door and open the slider. Kill the
enemies in both this room and the room on your left. One of them will drop
a key. Walk up to the fourth and final Pupil to save him. Go into the next
room, and open the slider door. Go through another door for a cutscene,
then swordfight. Walk through the new door that opens and take out the
enemies. When all is clear, walk up the Kenji, the guard in the blue
clothes. Listen to him, then follow him outside. Defeat the enemies in the
courtyard, then follow him up the steps to the next area.
Walk forward to enter a swordfight. Win the battle, then walk through the
double doors. You'll see Otori fighting two men at once (showoff >_>),
then you'll be challenged to a swordfight yourself by another ninja.
Defeat him for a cutscene. Go through the newly opened door and grab the
heavy armor/grenades. Walk through the narrow hallway and go outside. Kill
all the enemies in sight, then jump down to the bottom floor and finish
the rest off. Go through the open passage, turn right, and grab the heavy
armor on the floor. Continue down the hallway, and open the door to the
next room. This room is on fire. Kill all the enemies, then walk along the
pathway to the right. Avoid the fire at all costs. Continue along the
pathway to the door (Do not try to jump down).
Fall through the hole in the ground, and go left. Take the door to go
outside. Follow the path to the boxes, and jump up them. Use them to get
into the window. Pick up the light armor and grenades, and kill off all
the enemies you encounter as you walk to the other side of the large room.
Once you reach the end of the long passage, go through the hallway on the
left and follow it. Turn left and walk forward for a swordfight. Win the
fight, then walk up the steps into the room with the candles. Go through
the door on the right. Follow the path and go through the door, just in
time to watch Mariko get hit by a poisonous blade. Walk up to Mariko, and
you'll be challenged to the last swordfight of the level. Defeat him, then
walk up to Mariko. Mission complete!
Harry's Bar is now safe to go into. Just go up and talk to the barman.
However (if you wish), you may go over to the ammo room to load up and
possibly get some new weapons for the storeroom. Also, after each mission
from here out, you can go to the Training School again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 3-3: IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cross through the trees over to the entrance of the building. Kill the
enemies (Shoot the cars for nice multi-kills). Watch out for snipers on
the roof... take cover and return fire, or just run past them. At the
door, turn right and jump up the boxes to get into the suite. You'll
receive a phone call. When you can move again, walk through the room and
jump over the platform. Take out all the baddies, then jump down to the
area below (don't worry, you'll live). Facing the two torches in the main
area, go up the left steps and turn right. Go through the narrow
passageway for another phone call cutscene. Walk through the garden.
Ignore the first door on your right, and instead quickly kill the enemies
in the area. Walk up the steps to your injured ally to trigger a cutscene.
He will give you a key. More enemies to kill. Take them out, then
backtrack to the area with the two torches. Walk into the middle to start
a swordfight. Take him out, then go up the steps on the right this time.
Press the glowing lock to open the door. Step forward into the graveyard.
See where the enemies are coming from, that area in the back? Note that
spot (you'll be going over there shortly), then shoot everything that
moves. Keep watch on the higher levels of the buildings for snipers. One
the enemies will drop a heavy armor. When the coast is clear, walk
straight forward through graveyard and go through that passage the enemies
came from.
Go up the steps, and defeat the enemies. Go into the room to the right of
the gong and pick up the heavy armor, then go through the door on your
right. Walk around the graves until you see some steps. Go down them and
open the door. Follow the passageway and listen to the enemies talk, then
go up the steps at the end of the passageway. Kill the enemies (some are
shooting through peepholes in the bottom of the wall), grab the heavy
armor on the computer desk, then head through the doorway for a cutscene
followed by a swordfight. This enemy has a resistance meter. There are two
mini-cutscenes throughout the battle. Win the fight, and you will get back
the Katana Giri... then you'll have to swordfight a ninja. Defeat him as
well.
Go through either door on the left or right of the Sanro Kai member
sitting in the corner, and go down the hall. Kill all the enemies you
encounter in the hallway. Ignore all the rooms and follow the carpet path
on the floor, making sure you take out all baddies along the way. When the
carpet ends, go through the door on the left. Swordfight the ninja, then
walk through the door straight ahead, travel up the steps, and head into
the next area. This room is just like before. Follow the carpeted path
once again ignoring the rooms (They're empty), killing all enemies in
sight. Again, when the carpet ends go left for another swordfight. Win it,
then go through the door and up yet another flight of steps leading to the
next floor. Don't worry, that was the last floor like that.
Walk outside for a cutscene. Now you'll have to swordfight a ninja with a
poisonous sword. This blade is dangerous. You must use your power (kata)
moves to damage it. Keep damaging it until it breaks. Mission complete!
You will now be transported to the temple. Walk into where you normally go
to learn a new skill. This will trigger a discussion with the guard. After
it, go up the steps and into the room with the blue curtains. Turn right
and go outside. Walk across the water and enter the door. Walk up to Otori
to watch another cutscene. After this, go back to the area with the guard
and see if you have any new skills to learn, and once you think you're
ready, make your way back to Otori and speak with him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISSION 3-4: REUNION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Talk to Otori, then turn around and follow the path between the bamboo
trees. Cross over the water and keep going. Kill all the enemies in the
area, then go across the water and up the steps on the left side. Grab the
heavy armor and walk behind the building to reveal more path. Follow it.
Cross over the next body of water, and keep going until the path forks out
in random directions. Go left. See the bright rocks? There's a path
between them. Follow it. Jump into the water and walk upstream,
eliminating any opposition along the way. Keep following the water, and
crouch when the passage gets small. Walk forward more to watch a guy fly
out the window. Haha.
Defeat the enemies in the area, then walk up the steps in the left corner
to get to a main courtyard amid the buildings. Take out the baddies here,
then walk up the grass hill. Go left at the building and kill the enemies
firing at you from above. Jump on one of the three narrow walkways, and
slowly make your way across. Once you get to the other side, walk into the
building and go upstairs. Grab ammo if needed, then take the next flight
of stairs up. It's in the back left corner, to the left of the steps you
used to get up. Meet with Otori. He's been hurt by a poisonous weapon and
just wants to kill Tokai before he dies. You cannot follow him, so instead
go up the gray steps to the left. Go through the hall taking out all the
enemies, then open the door to go outside again.
Go down the steps for a cutscene of Tokai holding Miyu hostage. Walk down
to the center area to swordfight. This fight's for Miyu, so try your
hardest. :P After he's down, watch a cutscene. Otori walks up with the
intent of killing Tokai. Tokai has the only cure, so you have to stop
Otori from killing him! Walk up to Otori to block him from Tokai, and he
will swordfight you. He has no life bar, and since you don't want him to
die, it all works out. :P In order to win, you must break his sword using
power attacks.
!!!WARNING!!! If you do not win this swordfight, you will get the lame
ending and will not be able to see the better ending unless you re-beat
the game from the start! If you do end up losing, power off your Wii and
start up again.
Game complete! Congratulations! Enjoy the ending.

6. Winning Strategies
==========================================================================
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
5.1 KILLING YOUR ENEMIES
=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-
Having trouble taking out that large mob of enemies blocking your way? If
so, read on...
First, assess the situation. How many enemies are in the room? Are they
grouped together, or seperated? How big is the room? Note any hiding spots
you could duck behind to regenerate health. If applicable, spot out
leaders (the icon above their head gives them away; if you force them to
surrender, all others will surrender as well). Also, look at your own
weapons stock and consider which weapon to use for which situation. When
you think you're ready, head in.
Some tips for battle:
1. Aim for the head. Headshots are almost always an instant kill.
2. Pick up any ammo or new weapons while you fight
3. Do NOT be afraid to duck behind corners, or even run. Do whatever is
necessary to survive.
4. If applicable, use Focus Time to its fullest, it's there to help you
5. If applicable, use grenades as often as you can, when it's useful.
Bounce one down a hallway, roll one over to an unsuspecting victim,
whatever you what. They're extremely helpful.
6. Look around the room for objects that will explode. Some examples are
cars/anything with an engine, propane tanks, and gas canisters. These can
prove effective in wiping out hordes of enemies.
Use these steps and you should be able to take down your opponents with
ease.

6.2 SWORDFIGHTING
=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-
Sometimes, no matter hard you try, your opponents just will not be
defeated for anything. If you have this kind of trouble, this portion is
for you. Before you read ahead, first try just slashing at your opponent
constantly. See what happens, and if you still have trouble, read on.
Read which question best describes your situation. If you have any more
situtations, please contact me.
1. My opponent is constantly using power moves (Sword becomes red, and if
you try to parry it, it damages your sword).
Your opponent is reckless. This method is easy to counter, just
repeatedly attack him as quickly as you can. He will not defend himself
and is easily open to attacks.
2. My opponent is always defending my attacks and I cannot hurt him.
Your opponent is defensive. What you must do is wait for him to
strike. When he does this, parry it at the right time to throw him off
balance, then strike.
3. My opponent is always defending my attacks, and mixes power moves
(sword becomes red) in with regular attacks.
Quite possibly the hardest strategy to beat. To counter this, watch
for a pattern. Every enemy has one. The most common pattern I've seen is
where your opponent does three basic attacks, then one powerful attack.
(Example: Harry) If this isn't the case for you, just count how many basic
attacks come before a power attack. Use this information to your
advantage. Note, if he starts an attack but doesn't finish it (For
instance, you try to attack him halfway through), it still counts as one
of the "basic attacks".
4. My opponent has an extra bar above their health, and will not lose any
health.
Your opponent has a resistance meter. In order to cause any sort of
harm to them, you must lower the meter all the way. This will temporarily
allow them to be hurt before the resistance meter fills up again.
5. My opponent has no health meter/their health will not go down.
Your opponent has infinite health. To take them out, break their
sword using power attacks.

7. FAQ
==========================================================================
(Note: If you have any questions that haven't been covered in this FAQ,
contact me. Thanks!)
Q. I'm stuck in a glitch! Help me!
A. I'm sorry, but I can't really help. Red Steel is a very buggy game.
Random things can happen. Unless it's a universal, game corrupting glitch
causing you to start over, I won't be posting it in this FAQ. The best
thing you can do is quit the game (or restart your Wii if it froze) and go
back into it, and hope you had a checkpoint nearby.
Q. Why don't you have anything about the Multiplayer/weapons/etc.?
A. I will, soon. I don't have an extra Wii Remote, so I can't do this
until I get one. When I do, expect both a Multiplayer and Weapons section.
Q. How do I talk to the Sanro Kai in the bar to get a mission?
A. Just walk up to them. Occasionally the game is fickle and won't let you
talk to them, just walk back and up to them. It should work.
Q. What does Respect do, anyway?
A. It's used as a "points system", to calculate your rank at the end of
each mission. Also, as you get more Respect, your Respect level will go
up. You can see your Respect level by going to Pause Menu - Game Info.
Q. I beat the game and did not get 100% completion! What happened?
A. The only way to get 100% completion in this game is to get a Perfect
rank in every mission. This is extremely difficult; good luck if you're
going for it.
