2. Game Basics
Controls
Press (C) to center the camera.
Press (Z) to attack with the Overlord.
Press (A) to call a minion to you. Hold (A) to call all the minions at once.
Press (B) to order one minion at a time. Hold (B) to sweep them all.
Press (Right/Left) to cycle through the four different types of minions.
Press (Down) to select all the different kinds together.
Press (Up) to use the selected magic.
Press (-) to set a Guard Marker.
Press (+) to bring up the spells selection.
Press (1) to bring up the main menu/objective screen.
Press (2) to bring up the world map.
Commanding Minions
To order your minions, point at a selected emplacement on the screen with the
Wiimote and press or hold B (refer to the controls above for more) to send in
the minions. Different actions will be performed, depending on the icons on
screen. If you see a grey task icon (arrow), you can send in the minions to
move or operate the object in question. If a number appears in the circle,
you'll need that much minions to perform the action. Different pointers for
your Wiimote also mean different options. If the pointer is blue when you go
over an object, the minions can interact with it. If it's red, they can attack
the enemy or object. If you hold down B, the pointer will turn green and you
can move the minions in the desired direction with the Wiimote.
Increasing Minion Count
At the beginning of the game, you'll be limited to a certain number of minions.
As the game progresses, you'll need more minions. You will get more in due time
by finding Castle Relics (yellow). When your minions die, you can simply call
back new ones by pressing A while pointing at a Minion Gate with the Wiimote.
You can also dismiss minions by doing the same thing but pressing B instead. To
get new minions however you'll need to have some Lifeforce, which can be
obtained from killing enemies.
Sacrificing Minions
To throttle minions, press A and B together and hold them down, then raise the
Wiimote from a horizontal to a vertical position. You'll need to have minions
around you to do so. Keep A and B held and shake the Wiimote to charge the
minion. Don't shake it for too long or it will explode. Shake it a bit, then
choose the direction with the control stick and release A and B to throw the
minion in the desired direction. This will create an explosion, so you can use
that to blow up obstacles or groups of enemies. You can do the same thing but
shake the Nunchuk instead to kill the minion and regain some health. Press C or
Z to change the minion you are holding; different minions have different
effects.
Minion Races
Browns (Fighters)
"The Brown Minions are the strongest and most common type of Minion. They are
your all-round fighters and able to absorb the most damage in melee combat.
Beware, however: Browns are killed by elemental hazards such as water, fire and
poison."
Charged: Creates a powerful explosion, knocking over or stunning enemies.
Sacrificed: Provides a small health boost.
Reds (Archers)
"As fire specialists, Reds are capable of quenching flames and dealing damage
via flaming projectiles. Unskilled in melee combat, Reds should target enemies
from a safe distance."
Charged: Creates a fiery explosion, igniting nearby enemies and flammable
objects.
Sacrificed: Provides a small mana boost.
Blues (Healers)
"While fairly hopeless at doing damage and somewhat fragile when attacked,
Blues are still very valuable. They can resurrect fallen Minions with their
mystical powers, and with their ability to survive in water, can reach
locations the other Minions cannot."
Charged: Explosion causes a 'bless' effect, so affected Minions are
aautomatically resurrected if killed.
Sacrificed: Provides a small mana boost.
Greens (Assassins)
"Green Minions are not as tough as Browns, but their strikes can do more
damage. Their extra agility allows them to leap on to even tall enemies where
they attack with a flurry of claw attacks. They are capable of passing through
noxious gas and eliminating poisonous plants, and once placed on a Guard Marker
will become invisible to the prying eyes of wandering enemies."
Charged: Creates a cloud of noxious gas, poisoning and deterring enemies.
Sacrificed: Provides a small health boost.
Objects
During the course of the game, there will be different sorts of Relics to find
and gather. When you find a Relic, dispatch the minions to it and follow them
as they carry the Relic to make sure you clear any obstacle in their way. They
will bring it to the closest Gate. Spell Relics will give you new magic to use,
while Blood (red) and Mana (blue) Relics will give you more health and mana,
respectively. Castle Relics will get you more minions, and Forge Relics will
expand your forge with more equipment pieces.
Spells
Energy Spike: Fire a bolt of destructive lightning directly at your foes.
Chain Lightning: A single cast will strike the nearest foe before arcing to
other enemies in the vicinity.
Power Drain: The Overlord will gain a portion of health relative to the damage
dealt to a single foe.
Frenzy: Cause the Minion Horde to power up and scatter in a whirlwind of
destruction, attacking everything in sight.
Shield: Protect the Overlord and nearby Minions in a shield of energy, reducing
damage from enemies.
Slow: Reduce the movement and attack speed of approaching enemies, allowing you
to dispatch them at a more leisurely pace.
Petrify: Freeze enemies where they stand for a short period.
Transmogrify: Temporarily transform an approaching enemy into a sheep, to
attack with greater ease or simply for your own amusement.

Introduction - Castle Gromgard
Objective: Explore Castle Gromgard
When you wake up, simply head on through the rooms until a cutscene occurs in
the main hall.
Objective: Meet Rollick in the Kitchen
Head downstairs to the dinning room and enter the kitchen on the left to
receive the gauntlet.
Objective: Find a use for your new gauntlet
Return upstairs to the main hall and check on the door with the gold hand on
the right to open it.
Objective: Investigate beyond the secret door
Enter the new area and head up the stairs on the left to get the Overlord
armor.
Objective: Go to Gerda's Bedroom
Go back to the main hall and enter the hallway on the other side. A door will
open. Go in.
Objective: Smash up Gerda's bedroom
Press B to swing your weapon and smash down as much stuff as possible around
the room.
Objective: Visit Grenville's bedroom
Head across the hallway to the room on the opposite side. Press or hold A to
call the minions to you. Next, hold down B while pointing at the screen with
the Wiimote to sweep the minions and have them destroy stuff around. If done
correctly the pointer will go from blue to green.
Objective: Investigate the commotion coming from the Kitchen
Return all the way to the kitchen downstairs.
Objective: Defeat all the invading Halflings
Attack the enemies in the kitchen and head up the stairs at the back. Follow
the way back into your room, defeat all enemies along the way. Make your way to
the main hall, and defeat the remaining halflings. A cutscene will then show
them running out.
Objective: Follow the Halflings into the Courtyard
Objective: Kill beetles to collect Life Force
Objective: Spawn more Minions from the Minion Gate
Objective: Use the Wheel to open the Porcullis Gate
Exit throuh the front gate to leave the castle and defeat some beetles in the
courtyard in order to fill up on Life Force. Then, head over to the Minion gate
and press A while pointing at it to increase your group of little friends (to a
maximum of five for now). After that, go to the gate and point at the wheel on
the right of it, then press B to send the minions to it so they will spin it
and open the door.
Objective: Follow the Halflings out of the Castle
Head out to Gromgard Wilderness.
Save Castle Gromgard - Gromgard Wilderness
Objective: Find the Red Minion Hive
From the castle, follow the path into Gromgard Wilderness until your parth is
blocked by a fallen pillar. Point at it with the Wiimote and press B to send
your minions pushing it aside.
Keep heading down that path until you spot a Spell Relic. Point at it and press
B to send your minions to it. They will carry it to the Gate and you will gain
the Energy Spike spell. Now back to where you found the spell, continue
following the path and taking care of the halflings along the way. On the
right, you'll see a windmill with a crate in front. Order the minions to the
crate so they push it to the windmill. After a short scene, you'll find a new
chest with some gold inside.
Break the barrier ahead with the help of the minions, then hold down B while
pointing at the side of the bridge and send them to the other side. Cross the
little stream on the right, then take the path going right, since you can't go
left yet. At the crossing with the sheep, head left up to a locked gate. Point
the Wiimote at the boiling red cauldron on the other side of the fence and
press B to send the minions to it. They'll take care of it, and the gate will
be blown to dust.
Enter the yard and command your minions to spin the wheel on the right, freeing
the Red Minions. You can now use them to extinguish flames. Head down the
stairway ahead and send the red minions to the fire at the bottom so they put
it off. Do the same with the flames at the back of the yard and you'll find the
Red Hive inside the ruined chapel.
Objective: Return the Red Hive to a Waypoint Gate
Have your brown minions take the hive and they will carry it back to the Gate.
Follow them all the way until they stop at a burning bridge. Command the red
minions to put out the fires so the minions carrying the hive can cross. Defeat
any halfling on the way that try to stop your minions and follow them to the
Gate once the way is all cleared.
Objective: Use the Waypoint Gate to teleport back into the Castle
Stand on the gate and select the castle on the map to teleport back there.
Objective: Put out the fires
Once in the castle cellars, where your minions reside, head to the right and
put out the fire blocking the path with your red minions. Make sure you have
three red minions and two brown minions with you, then head into the next room.
Select the red minions and place a guard marker on the platform across the
wooden plank. While the red minions attack the halfling on the other side, send
the two brown minions to the wheel in the center. The door to the next room
will open.
Before going into the next room, go back to where the minion nests are and take
more red minions with you so you have at least four. Now go back to the room
you were at and have the red minions carry the Blood Relic back to the gate to
increase your health meter. Return to the room again and put out the fire
blocking the way into the next room. In this room you'll need to repeat the
process from previously. Place two guard markers with one red minion on each
side to attack the halflings, then send out two brown minions to the wheel in
the center to open the next door.
Go around the final hallway and put out the fire at the end. Following the path
you'll emerge back in the castle kitchen. Now leave the castle by the entrance
gate and get ready for a boss fight.
Objective: Confront Jinks
This fight is rather easy. Jinks will move around the courtyard and try to ram
into you occasionally, the rest of the time throwing pumpkins at you. When you
see him charging, just run out of the way to avoid him. He will crash into the
wall and remain there for a while. Use the opportunity to attack him, and order
the minions to attack him as well to speed up the process. Repeat the same
thing until he's defeated. You can also use your Energy Spike spell if you
wish.
Stolen Goods - FarmLand/Skull Canyon
Objective: Open the path in the Wilderness
Now on with the main quest. Back in the Wilderness, make your way to the other
side of the bridge past the windmill and take the path going left, where you
couldn't go previously. Since you now have ten minions instead of five, you'll
be able to command all ten to push the pillar blocking the path aside.
Objective: Make your way to the town of Meadowsweet
Enter the Farmland. Start by going right where the little house is and look
around to find a Spell Relic. Have the minions carry to it to the Gate nearby
to obtain the Shield spell. Now head over to the left to be stopped by a spiked
barrier. Press and hold A & B together to grab a nearby brown minion, shake the
wiimote until the minion becomes explosive (not too much either), aim at the
fence with the control stick, then release A & B to throw the minion at the
fence, blowing it to pieces. Continue down the path, defeating the Bandits
along the way, until you spot a Mana Relic at the end. Have the minions carry
it back to the gate to increase your magic, then return here. Break down the
barrier blocking the way on the left using the minions and move out.
Objective: Explore the Bandit's Hideout
You won't be able to enter from here, so follow the path to a cave leading to
the next area, Skull Canyon. Head out of the cave and climb up the little slope
on the left to find another Spell Relic at the tip of the slope. Defeat the
Bandits around the place, then have the minions carry the relic so you get the
Slowdown spell. Once the place is cleared of enemies, examine the little
fencing next to the cave entrance and you'll notice a grey icon on the other
side. There's a wheel there, but you can't reach it, so send the minions to it
and they will go and spin it, lowering the bridge on the left.
You can now cross over to the other side and continue to follow the path up to
a fork. Start by going left first and step in the sparkling circle in the
corner to watch a little scene where your minion steal a sword. Now go back
down and take the right path. Destroy the barrier blocking the way by
sacrificing a brown minion, then move onwards until you find the first Blood
Pit, used to regain health. Now head down the path to the new area where you'll
find a bunch of Bandits. Place guard makers for red minions to attack from the
sides of the area, and send the brown minions to destroy the tents, then get
rid of all the Bandits. If you need health, return to the Blood Pit.
When you're done clearing out the area, destroy the barrier ahead with a
minion, then head out to the next area. There are more Bandits to defeat here,
so send your minions after them and don't forget to destroy the tent on the
left. Also climb up the slope at the back of the area to find a Blood Relic;
have your minions carry it to the gate to increase your health bar. Now back
over here, command your minions to push the large rock blocking the path on the
right so you can access the next part. Destroy the tents on each side, then
place guard markers to have your red minions attack the bandits on the two
mounds, or just command them to attack, and stand back while they take care of
them.
Objective: Defeat the Rock Giant
Once that's done, break the barrier ahead and follow the way to a large cage
containing a Rock Giant. Order the minions to spin the wheel behind the cage to
free the Giant. You'll now need to take him down, but this boss, if it can even
be considered one, is extremely easy. Just send your brown minions after him
and his health will go down in a matter of a few hits, given you help them out
a bit. After the battle, the golem will collapse, creating a bridge.
Objective: Retrieve the Castle Forge
Objective: Return to the Castle and visit Gnarl
Now cross the new bridge and have the minions pick up the Forge. Then teleport
back into the castle.
Problems in Meadowsweet - Meadowsweet Town
Objective: Investigate problems in Meadowsweet
Now that you have the Forge, you can head down the left side of the throne room
(where Gnarl is) to find a new room where you can buy new equipment and upgrade
your minions.
Otherwise, use the teleport pad in the castle cellars and warp back to the
Farmland. Walk back to the the closed gate/bridge and this time the villagers
will let you in the village.
Wolf Worries - Withering Woods
Objective: Kill 6 wolves in the Withering Woods
Watch the scene in the center of town, then walk to the objective dot on the
map to head out of the village. Have your minions turn the wheel to lower the
drawbridge, then walk out to the Withering Woods. Kill the first wolf at the
entrance, then follow the path to a river. Make your minions knock down the
tree on the left so they can cross, then cross the river yourself. There's a
wolf on this side of the river, and another one on the other side. Continue to
some red vines blocking your path. Order the
red minions to burn them down and proceed.
In the next area, kill the wolf first, then burn down the vines and have the
minions push the boulder. Now you're going to have to go around and take the
other path going up on the side, walking on the boulder you just pushed, acting
as a bridge. Defeat the wolf at the top, then follow the path to the end, where
you'll find the final wolf to kill. Knock down the stone wall afterwards to
return to the entrance.
Objective: Return to Nym in Meadowsweet
Head back into the village and see Nym for your reward. Have the minions pick
up the Spell Relic to get the Frenzy spell, as well as the big bag of gold on
the left of Nym himself. That's all yours.
Lil' Red - Withering Woods
Objective: Find the girl in the red hood
Objective: Escort Lil' Red through the Woods
Head to the other side of the town square to find Lil' Red. You'll need to
escort her to her grandma, so head back into the Withering Woods with her. She
will open up the previously blocked path on the left for you, so head through
there. You'll find wolf dens along the path; destroy them all to get rid of the
annoying wolves. At the end of the path you'll come across a river, so knock
down the tree on the left and have the minions cross over to the other side.
Walk into the river and get to the other shore. Call the minions back to you by
holding down A, then keep following the path.
Burn down the vines on the left and destroy the wolf den. Then you'll reach
another river. Knock down the tree on the right, then point at the other tree
on the other side and send the minions knocking that one down too. Make them
cross, then cross yourself and call them back. Destroy the den, burn the vines
down and order the minions to push the boulder. The path will then take you to
a clearing where Lil' Red will go hide in a house. Defeat all the wolves that
come out, then Lil' Red will invite you inside.
Objective: Defeat the Wolf Queen
This boss isn't particularly hard. The Wolf Queen will jump around on the
sides; you can reach her by placing guard markers with the red minions, and
attacking with the brown minions when she's in the center of the cave. However,
ultimately you'll want to burn the little nests on the sides of the area where
she jumps to with the red minions' flames. Doing so with all will make rocks
collapse from the ceiling, creating a bridge for your brown minions to reach
her and defeating more quickly.
After the fight, get the Minion Relic (yellow) on the side to increase your max
to 12 minions. Head back up to the entrance where the Blood Pit is and push
aside the large rock with your new minions. Leave the cave to be back in the
Withering Woods and follow the path to the right all the way to the end to find
a Mana Relic. Knock down the stone wall nearby and let the minions carry it.
Now go back into Meadowsweet Town.
Sweet Tooth - Melancholy Moors
Objective: Visit the Gingerbread Seller
Objective: Find the Witch
Head north from the town square to find the gingerbread seller. He will
redirect you to Doris the Witch. Have one of your minion pick up the candycan
handle on the ground and bring it to the wheel next to the village's entrance.
Order the minions to spin it and leave the village to enter Melancholy Moors.
Follow the way to Doris' house.
Objective: Find a way in to the Gingerbread House
After the scene, go around to spot some Gingerbread men holding a candycan.
You'll need to retrieve four of these so you can can complete the wheel and
spin it. Just go around the area and get to the objective dots on the map to
find the candycans. Defeat all the gingerbread men, grab the cans and bring
them back to the wheel next to the witch's house. Once that's done, command the
minions to spin the wheel so you can get to the gingerbread house.
Objective: Explore the Gingerbread House
Inside, free the Blue Minions in the first room by ordering your minions to
break the cage. The blue minions can go in the water and they can also heal
other minions. Pretty useful. Now head into the main room where a little scene
will take place. Go left and up the stairway there.
Objective: Destroy the first Oven
In the first room, send the blue minions pushing the metal bridge on the left
to create a path to cross. On the other side of the room, send the blue minions
again to spin the wheel in the water. This will draw a bridge for you to cross
in the middle. After getting rid of the enemies, head down in the center to
find the first oven. Command the red minions to extinguish the flames.
Objective: Destroy the second Oven
Follow the hallway to the left and you'll come to another room. Send the blue
minions across the water to spin the wheel on the other side and draw a bridge.
Before crossing, put back the red and brown minions into their nests and take
only blue minions with you. Now cross the watery hallway ahead to reach the
next room. Here, put back a few blue minions in the nest and call at least two
red and brown minions from their nests. They will drown in the water, but just
bring in the blue minions close to them before they disappear and they will get
them out of the water and save them.
Now look in the water nearby to spot a handle lying there. Have a blue minion
pick it up and bring it to the wheel on the other side of the room. Get there
and order the blue minions to turn the wheel so you draw a bridge. Cross over
there and head down to the oven. Put out the flames with the red minions.
Objective: Search for the Blue Minion Hive
Objective: Defeat Doris the Witch
Now that both ovens are down, return to the main room and defeat all the
gingerbread men. Proceed to the room in the center to find Doris. Defeating her
can be a bit tricky. A rocket will appear either in the right of left corner of
the room. If it's at the right, use a red minion to retrieve it from the
flames. If it's at the left, use a blue minion to retrieve it from the water.
Once the minion has the rocket in hands, point at it and move it around while
holding B. Wait for the witch to come to a stop, after she goes around throwing
some cakes which you should avoid. Once she's stopped for a few seconds,
position the minion under her shadow, point at it, release B and press A. The
rocket should go flying up and hit the witch, who will fall down. Attack her
with all minions, then repeat a second time to defeat her. You could even
defeat her in one round if you use magic.
Objective: Retrieve the Blue Hive
After the battle pick up the blue hive with the minions and leave the witch's
house.
Sinister Sister - Dwarf Lands
Objective: Open the gates to the Dwarf Lands
Now back in Melancholy Moors, go left from the witch' house, to where you got
the candycan handles earlier on. Go around the path (make sure you bring lots
of blue minions with you) until you reach a little river. Cross it with the
blue minions and have them spin the wheel to lower the bridge. Then have them
pick up the Spell Relic nearby to get the Chain Lightning spell. There's
another wheel on the other side of the river left of the bridge you just
lowered; send the blue minions to it to spin it and lower the other bridge
which will take you to the Dwarf Lands.
Objective: Find Gerda in Hammerstone Gorge
In this new area, take the left path at the fork. Bring at least four Blue
minions with you and some Red minions as well, and cross the path going under
the small waterfall. At the end of the path, go right and spin the wheel with
the blue minions to stop the waterfall so your other minions can get to you.
Now head over the other side of the path and extinguish the fire with the red
minions. Ignore the electric fence and keep following the path until you get to
the Workshop.
On the left side of the area, have the minions push the large rock, and then
send them along the wall to attack the electric device on the mound on the
left. They will destroy it and thus shut down all the electric fences around
the place. You can now return to the electric fence you passed by earlier to
get the Mana Relic. Otherwise just follow the straight path to the objective
star on your map for a short cutscene. Afterwards, head down and grab the Forge
Relic on the left dock. Now go to the Waypoint Gate at the end of the path and
warp to the Farmland for a new unfolding of events.
Farmstead Troubles - Farmland
Objective: Find out what's happening in the Farmstead
Objective: Thwarf the Plant Invasion, Kill 17 Flytraps
Now you'll need to find and kill all the flytraps, starting with the two at the
entrance. Then go north to find a third one in the garden ahead. You'll find
two more ahead, near the windmill, and two others right before the bridge. Then
go down the little path at the left of the bridge and send the blue minions to
the wheel across the stream. The bridge will lower, so cross to find four more
flytraps in the area across the bridge. Now if you turn around, there's a Mana
Relic on the left side of the bridge; send the blue minions to pick it across
the stream. Back in the area near the bridge, knock down the little stone wall
on the left of the house to create a path to cross to the area on the other
side.
There are three flytraps to kill at the start of the area, and one more a
little to the left where the path splits. After killing that one, return to the
fork and head north to the area where the entrance to Meadowsweet is. Defeat
the last flytrap here, then send the blue minions to retrieve the Blood Relic
on the little isle in the water on the left. Now you should have killed all
flytraps, so after the little scene go back to where the bridge from before was
and pick up the yellow relic to gain more minions (now up to 15). Then follow
the path to enter the all new area.
Herbicide - Verdant Valley
Objective: Find the source of the invading plants
At the Gate, destroy the mushrooms in the way on the left and order the minions
to push aside the pillar blocking the path. Keep going until you come to a
portal where you can't go yet. Send the blue minions to spin the wheel in the
pond on the right to open the gate at the back. Go through and follow the path
to the next open area. Ignore the mana relic here for now, you can't get it
yet. Sweep the minions across the narrow path to the other side and have them
knock down the stone wall to create a bridge for you to cross. Once on the
other side, keep on following the way until you reach the Guardian Tree.
Before getting to it though, take the path going right to find a Blood Relic.
Knock down the wall on the right and pick it up. Now return to the large tree
and have a minion pick up the flaming torch on the right side. Guide it to
three by pointing at it and pressing B, and place it inside the tree trunk. Now
you can acess the new area behind, Plant Garrison. For the next section, make
sure you have a lot of blue minions. Watch out for the piranha plants ahead,
but you can kill them by having your minions attack (red minions will work well
against them). Follow the path until you find the first elf enemies. From now
on, destroy all the mirrors you see in the area to stop the enemies from
spawning before defeating them.
Head down and command the blue minions to spin the wheel in the small pool to
stop the waterfall on the left. Now go down and cross the water, while the
other minions take the path above. Destroy the mirror here, then head down
again and defeat all the piranha plants in the area below. Once that's done,
order the blue minions to push the bamboo block into the wall and cross the
path above. Continue to the next area where you'll find another bamboo block to
push. Go up and kill the plants, then have the minions turn the wheel there to
stop the poisonous gas. Now enter the factory. In the first room, destroy the
mirror on the left, then defeat the enemies and turn the wheel on the right.
In the next room, push the block to stop the gas from coming out, then head up
and destroy the mirror. Ignore the wheel for now; it's missing a handle.
Continue down the path and make the minions push the other block to stop the
gas. Destroy the mirror above to get rid of the elves, then have a minion pick
up the handle lying on the ground. Return to the wheel and spin it to obtain a
bridge. Cross said bridge to wind back up outside. Have the minions pick up the
Spell Relic there and follow them as they carry it. Defeat the piranha plants
in their way so they can safely take it to the Gate. You'll get the Petrify
spell. Now return to where you picked up the spell relic and take the other
path to a new place.
Gassy Greens - Putrid Pools
Objective: Find the Green Minion Hive
Your Green Minions are emprisonned in this room. To free them, get close to the
pipe on the left side of the room and grab a minion to sacrifice it. Shake it a
bit to make it explosive, then aim at the pipe and throw it in. It will be
sucked in and will explode, blowing up the cage and freeing the green minions.
Now that you have them, order them to breath in the poison from the flowers in
the middle path. Once the path is cleared, pick up the Mana Relic on the left
and take the right path, after getting rid of the poisonous gas with the green
minions.
Now in the next room, send the green minions to the area behind the glass
window on the right. Place a Guard Marker there and wait. The elf will come
close and the greens will attack him. Once he's defeated, order one of the
greens to pick up the handle dropped by the elf. You can now spin the wheel in
the corner with the green minions. This will get rid of the poison mist. You
can now pick up the torch in the water on the left with a blue minion. Guide
him to the Guardian Tree at the back of the room and put the torch inside the
trunk to burn it.
Objective: Retrieve the Green Hive
Continue along the path and clear the way with the green minions until you
emerge in a large room with the Green Hive. Clear the whole area of poisonous
plants, then have the minions carry the hive. Clear any plant in the way with
the greens, then you'll come to yet another room. Destroy the poisonous plants
in the bottom area first, then have the minions push the pipe piece back into
the pipe so you can cross. Defeat anything in the way up to the next room.
Here, first order the red minions to kill the flytraps on the other side of the
stream, then get rid of any plants in the room with the green minions. Once
that's taken care of, send the blue minions to push the pipe piece back into
the pipe on the side. Now cross the pipe and order the minions to turn the
wheel on the other side of it. Get off it after and command the blue minions to
pick up the hive and cross the stream (only blue minions, so they can cross the
water with it). Clear the rest of the way with the greens and soon you'll
arrive at the Gate. Before returning to the castle, push the pillar on the
right and return outside. Clear the area of poison and pick the Mana Relic.
Objective: Visit Gnarl back at the Castle
Now go back to the throne room using the Gate. Use the opportunity to visit the
Forge and upgrade your equipment, as well as level-up your minions.
Dwarf Wardrobe - Hammerstone Gorge Foundry
Objective: Find the Dwarf Envoy outfits
Now you'll need to warp back to Hammerstone Gorge. Take the path going right
and on your way you'll spot an adjacent path blocked off by green gas. Send the
Green minions through it to pick up the Relic on the other side. This will
increase your minion count to 17, just enough to access the next area. Head
back to the entrance to call out more minions, then take the left path up to
the Blood Pit. Check on the left for a pillar blocking the way. Have your
minions push it away and enter the Foundry.
Inside, you'll come to a first room with water on the left side, and lava on
the right side. Send the blue minions to push the block on the left, and the
reds to push the block on the right. This will create paths on both sides. Go
to each side and send four minions to spin both wheels on the two sides. Once
that has been done, the large gate in the center of the room will unlock.
Command the minions to push the doors and go through until you emerge in the
next big room. There are two statues right in front of you as you come in.
Order the minions to pick both of them up and they will put them down on
switches on both sides of the room. The left side already has a statue there,
so once all two are placed, the door will open. Go through and follow the way
to the next room, where you'll spot the other statue you need.
Destroy the mine openings in the walls around the room first to stop the
dwarves from coming out, then order four minions to spin the wheel in the
alcove in the middle of the wall to raise the gate where the statue is locked
inside. Have the minions pick it up and bring it back to the main room, but
before going back there yourself, follow the remaining bit of the path on the
left to wind up on a ledge in the main room, next to a wheel. Spin the wheel
with the minions, then head all the way back to the central room. Since the
other side should now have all two statues as well, you can now head through.
Follow the way and you'll get to another small room.
Destroy the mine openings around to stop the dwarves from spawning, then in the
northeast corner, send the red minions to spin the wheel behind the flames.
Then have the blue minions pick up the statue in the pool of water and place it
on a button that will move those big cauldrons out of the way. You can now head
through the path on the left and find the second wheel to spin in order to
unlock the large gate in the central room. Go back all the way to it and have
the minions push the doors. Follow the path to the final room where you'll find
a chest containing the dwarf outfits for your minions. Before leaving, retrieve
the Forge Relic on the left, then use the warp on the right to teleport to
Verdant Valley.
Grenville Pals - Elf Hot Houses
Objective: Infiltrate the Elf Hot Houses
In Verdant Valley, walk back to the gate that was locked before and the elves
will let you in.
Objective: Destroy all of the Lotus Flowers
In the Hot Houses, you'll need to find and destroy all the lotus flowers,
marked on your map. Start with the big purple one at the entrance on the right,
then follow the path to the next area. Here, order the minions to push the
bamboo block below so it makes a path that you can cross. After crossing,
destroy the orange lotus flower on the other side, get the Spell Relic, and
keep going to the next area. On the way you'll see a short scene with the
elves. Destroy the mirror ahead so no more enemies come out, then cut the
purple lotus flower to pieces and cross to the other side and the send the
green minions to destroy the orange lotus flower after clearing out the
poisonous plants around it.
After that, send the minions to retrieve the Blood Relic on the right and
continue to the left. Cross the water in the next area and destroy the orange
lotus flower blocking the path. Now only two missing. Head over to the last
area and you'll spot them. Watch out for the piranha plants at the entrance;
defeat them first, then head down and smash the lotus flower, then head to the
back of the area and destroy the last one on the left. Getting them all will
trigger a scene.
Objective: Defeat Erasmus
Erasmus isn't a difficult boss, but he's extremely annoying. He will constantly
teleport around, and heal himself when you're not hitting him. The good news is
that he will always teleport to the same three spots and won't leave the area.
What you can do is set Guard Markers at the places he teleports to, or just run
around, but that process takes a while, or you could simply use the Petrify
spell. Don't let him heal himself, and make sure the piranha plants around the
area have been destroyed prior to the fight or they will keep on taking your
minions away. If you need minions, health or mana at any moment, you can return
to previous areas to get all of that, but be quick or Erasmus will have time to
recover.
Objective: Find the Elf Envoy costumes
After the fight, a new area will open. Have the minions pick up the relic to
increase to the maximum of twenty minions and open the treasure chest to obtain
the elf outfits for your minions. Now it's time to warp back to Hammerstone
Gorge for the final area of the game. Make sure you're ready.
Gerdas Boys - Widget's Workshop
Objective: Use Elf disguises to get into Widget's Workshop
Back in Hammerstone Gorge, head over to the Dwarf Workshop in the far end area
and go in.
Objective: Find Widget
Inside the workshop, go on to the first room, which has two paths blocked off
by electric fencings. The only way you can go for now is the left path, so do
so. Take a left at the intersection and in the following room, go down and
destroy the first power generator. Also get the Blood Relic here. Now return to
the room with the fences and a new path will be open, so go left and follow the
way all the way up to the end where you'll find the second power generator
behind a wall. Destroy it, then go back all the way down to the room with the
fences, which should have no more fences now. Take the only path you haven't
taken so far and you'll emerge in a large room where enemies will appear.
Defeat every single one of these dwarves and the door at the back will open. Go
in for the final confrontation.
Objective: Defeat Widget
Before rushing into the heat of battle, you'll need to make your way around the
level to reach Widget. First, get a lot of Blue minions, at least more than
four. Send them to the wheel in the water on the left, and keep on sending them
out in case Widget kill some of them. Then move out to the next area and get
more Red minions this time. Send them spinning the wheel nearby, then move out.
Repeat the same thing with the next wheel and some Green minions. Now you can
re-arrange your minions and get some brown ones. There's a place to go down to
the boss, and Blood/Mana pits around the level, as well as several minion
gates. You can either wait for Widget to ram into the sides of the area and
attack him, or place Guard Markers on the ledges with red minions, while the
rest attack, or use spells to stop and slow him, just some attack magic. The
battle isn't very hard, whatever strategy you take.
Congrats, it's over!
4. SideQuests
Rotten Pumpkins
Objective: Destroy the Rotten Pumpkins in Gromgard Wilderness
This is optional. After defeating Jinks, you'll re-appear at the castle. Head
down to the kitchen and speak with Rollick to receive a new quest, which
consists in destroying all the rotten pumpkins outside. So, head out of the
castle into the wilderness. There are six pumpkins to find out there, located
between the first Gate and the bridge past the windmill.
1. First one is in the pumpkin field at the right of the Gate.
2. Second one is at the right of where you found the Spell Relic.
3. Third one is a little further down the path on the left.
4. Fourth one is next to the house by the windmill.
5. Fifth is at the left of the windmill.
6. Last one is behind a wheelbarrow on the other side of the road.
Objective: Return to Rollick to collect your reward
Once you've crushed all six rotten pumpkins, go back to see Rollick in the
kitchen and earn minion equipment which will be disposed in a desk in your
room.
Smear Campaing
Objective: Destroy Propaganda in Meadowsweet
You can do this after visiting Meadowsweet and completing the Pumpkins
sidequest. Speak with Rollick to start, then warp to Meadowsweet. There are
five posters to find around the village and destroy.
1. Right where you appear after warping, next to the Waypoint Gate.
2. In the area where the man selling Gingerbread is standing.
3. Close to the exit to Melancholy Moors.
4. Close to the exit to Withering Woods.
5. Close to the village entrance (exit to Farmstead).
Once you have destroyed all five posters, the quest will be updated.
Objective: Give Moaning Moe a good hiding.
Simply defeat the man standing around the well in the center of the village to
complete the quest.
Evil Weevil
Objective: Hunt down the Weevil in Farmstead
You can do this quest after Wolf Worries. Talk to Nym in Meadowsweet to start
it. Simply head back out to the FarmLand and walk to the bridge close to the
entrance to Verdant Valley. Across the bridge, near the windmill, you'll find a
bug on the road. Just defeat it and return to Nym to get your reward. You'll
need four minions to carry the bag of gold.
Sore Heads
Objective: Deliver the drunken men to the correct angry wife
You can start this quest after Farmstead Troubles; just talk to Nym. In the
center of the village are four drunken men that you'll need to carry to their
wives. To pick them up use minions, then move them around by pointing at them
and moving the Wiimote. I'll identify the men first:
1. The one close to the well.
2. The one on the left of first one.
3. The one north of second one.
4. The one north of third one.
Now the wives:
1. Man 1's wife is north of Nym, at the fork between the Gingerbread seller and
Waypoint Gate.
2. Man 2's wife is a bit further ahead from the first, near the Gingerbread
seller.
3. Man 3's wife is on the other side of the village, close to the exit to
Farmstead.
4. Man 4's wife is in the same area as the third, near the exit.
Gnome Spies
Objective: Destroy Gnome Satues in Greenvale
You can do this after Farmstead Troubles; speak with Rollick in the castle.
You'll need to find and destroy 15 small gnome statues laying around Greenvale;
5 in the Wilderness, 5 in FarmLand, and 5 in Melancholy Moors. The statues are
very small and hard to see; so if you've having trouble finding them, check my
video walkthrough at
http://www.youtube.com/WishingTikal . Here's the list:
Gromgard Wilderness:
1. On the road between the castle and the first Waypoint Gate, a bit past the
first minion hive.
2. Right past the first Waypoint Gate, in the tall grass where you had to push
a pillar.
3. Across the river past the windmill.
4. By the gate where it says "Gromgard" where you blew up the pumpkin juice.
5. At the very top of the stairway leading to the second Waypoint Gate.
Farmstead:
6. By the entrance to Meadowsweet, near the drawbridge.
7. Across the bridge close to the way leading to Verdant Valley.
8. A bit further down that path, past the windmill, next to the fence on the
road.
9. Near the first Waypoint Gate at the start of the level.
10. Down the first path where you broke the first barrier by throwing a
minion.
Melancholy Moors:
11. If you use the Gate, it will be right in front of you near the watermill
after you warp there.
12. On the left of the small bridge leading to the Gingerbread House.
13. On the piece of bridge-shaped land over the stream left of the Blood
Pit.
14. On the ground left of the green minion hive a bit further ahead.
15. Across the stream where the two bridges are, where there are a lot of black
firflies.
