1. How to get a great Mii
All you need to create a Mii is the Mii Channel.
In here you can make a Mii that looks like you or just let your fantasy
decide what looks the Mii should have.
The main thing to get a great Mii for this game is only about stats.
Combinations of height and fat is how you create that special one.
You will find the stats for a good one in the events in the Event Guide.
I will range it from 0-100%
=========================================================================
2. Mii Contest Channel & Posting Plaza
The Mii Contest Channel is available for free on Wii Shop Channel.
The Posting Plaza is a part of the Mii Contest Channel and makes it
possible to upload Mii´s of your own. And download Mii´s from all over
the world.
Here is how to get a Mii with a Mii code:
Use Mii Contest Channel
Posting Plaza
Today´s Top Mii´s
Search
Change Search type
Enter the 12 digit code.
And the Mii will be on your screen within seconds.
=========================================================================
3. Different start techniques
a.Maxed start
This technique is used in the swim events and in all dash events
except the 100m.
To get the maxed start you need to wait for the B icon on the screen
to be pressed twice (4 times in the swim events)
and then charge the power up with the B button.
With the maxed start you get a completely filled speedbar
right after the start.
Once the charge is complete and the bar is full, shake the remote down.
The timing of this is crucial for getting a great start.
b.Normal start
Only useful in the 50Hz 400m dash.
This means that the speedbar isn´t completely full after the start.
To get this one just charge (B button)directly at ready, wait until
the bar is full, count to two and then shake the remote down.
c.Perfect start
Well this is the one you all want to get in the end.
I call it a perfect one just because the timing is perfect.
In all events the difference between a good and a perfect start
can easily be 0.100s.
To get one of these is all about taking a chance, since it’s
not possible to have a 0.000s reaction time.
=========================================================================
4.50Hz and 60Hz WFC rankings
There is 3 different resolution options for this game.
576i 50Hz
480i 60Hz
EDTV/HDTV 60Hz
To change these you need to go to the start screen (with the channels)
, Wii Options, Wii settings, Screen and TV Type (or resolution)
This option isn´t on all Wii consoles for some reason.
The 60Hz is slightly faster, which makes it possible to get better
results.
This also means there is two different WFC rankings online.
a.100m
Type: Track
50Hz WFC record: 9.269s
60Hz WFC record: 9.264s
My 50Hz PB: 9.269s
My 60Hz PB: 9.264s
Best Characters: Knuckles are the best in game character, but a Mii is
the best character in total.
Good Mii stats: 60-70% tall and 50-70% fat
My 9.269s/9.264s Mii code: 6330-1167-6871
How to get a great one: To win in circuit mode don´t take much time.
So instead you should try and focus on getting the perfect start.
To get one in this event I use the maxed start technique, and shake the
remote just as the bar is full.
Once you started the run try to get the rhythm as fast as possible.
How you shake the remote/nunchuk doesn´t matter, as long as you can keep
the bar completely full the complete run.
I prefer the normal “running” technique, one control in each hand and
just shake as fast as possible with small movement
b.400m
Type: Track
50Hz WFC record: 36.211s
60Hz WFC record: 35.999s
My 50Hz PB: 36.211s
My 60Hz PB: 35.999s
Best Characters: The best one to use is Dr Eggman, but a Mii is
also a good choice.
Good Mii stats: 95-100% tall and 30-50% fat
My 36.213s/35.999s Mii code: 5854-0663-1808
My 36.219s/36.033s Mii code: 2320-2239-6831
How to get a great one: This event is much about balance.
Use both Remote and Nunchuk for this one. Make a maxed start
(normal if you play 50Hz), let the speed drop below the red field
and then start shaking the remote (only).
With only shaking the remote you will find it much easier to balance
the speed. You need to balance the speed as close to the red field
as possible and you can also go into that field for short periods
of time. But that will lead to a loss of stamina, so use it with care.
You gain back stamina faster in the 60Hz, which make it possible
to go into the red field more often.
The balance running part is about 26s, then start the sprint part.
And before you get to the sprint you will need to have full stamina.
This is because you want to start the sprint as early as possible, and
still have stamina left to reach the finish line with full speed.
At the start of the sprint press A and shake both remote and nunchuk
as fast as possible, and when the stamina are near of running out, press
B to make a jump. The jump must come before the stamina runs completely
out otherwise you will have a massive drop of speed during the last
meters.
c.4 X 100m Relay
Type: Track
50Hz WFC record: 35.455s
60Hz WFC record: 35.430s
My 50Hz PB: 35.455s
My 60Hz PB: 35.430s
My 35.455s/35.431s Mii code: 6520-6250-3806
My 35.457s/35.432s (4xMii) (50Hz) Mii code: 0644-7354-9396
My 35.456s/35.430s (4xMii combo)
1&3 0644-7354-9396
2&4 6520-6250-3806
My 35.435s (4xMii combo) (60Hz) Mii code:
1. 1993-3144-2370 (H.I)
2. 6520-6250-3806 (I.c)
3. 2642-1088-6491 (Y.N)
4. 0644-7354-9396 (W.I)
Best Characters: You need speed characters in this event and in game
a combination of Sonic, Shadow, Daisy, and Yoshi are the best. But if
you want to get faster you need 2 good Mii´s, Sonic and Shadow
Good Mii stats: 40-70% tall and 0% fat
How to get a great one: A perfect start is always helpful for a great
Result. But most important is to keep the speed at maximum as much time
as possible. This is not that easy but is helpful when you do the exchange.
Once the speed locks (before the exchange), you really want the speed to
be locked at the highest level possible, that means you can send the next
character early (for a late exchange) and that leads to less time for you
keep the speed up yourself. For a good one all GREATS is needed, but that
isn´t that hard to do. If you only get GOOD you have probably shaked
the remote to soon. End the run with a jump (B button)
d.110m Hurdles
Type: Track
50Hz WFC record: 11.581s
60Hz WFC record: 11.576s
My 50Hz PB: 11.581s
My 60Hz PB: 11.576s
Best Characters: Speed is the key for this event, and that makes Shadow
and Sonic the best in game characters.
A good Mii is also capable of a 11.5xxs run
Good Mii stats: 40-70% tall and 0% fat
My 11.583s/11.576s Mii code: 2642-1088-6491
My 11.581s/11.577s Mii code: 1993-3144-2370
How to get a great one: A perfect start and timing of the hurdles.
Shake both remote and nunchuk as fast as possible with small movement.
You need to jump once you see exploding stars over the hurdles.
If you time this right you won´t loose speed going over it.
Also try to keep the rhythm of the shaking even when you press B for
the jumps, since a short stop there means you to loose speed.
End the run with jump. Try to get the jump as early as possible, with
a straight forward jump. If you jump to early you will jump almost
straight upwards. You can gain another 0.002s time if you get a perfect
jump.
e.400m Hurdles
Type: Track
50Hz WFC record: 41.913s
60Hz WFC record: 41.863s
My 50Hz PB: 41.913s
My 60Hz PB: 41.863s
Best Characters: Dr Eggman is the best choice for this event. Also a good
Mii can run a low 42s run.
Good Mii stats: 0-15% tall and 100% fat or 100% tall and 30-40% fat
My 41.913s/41.863s Mii code: 6290-3033-8936
My 42.020s/41.970s Mii code: 5908-6998-0955
How to get a great one: Same strategy as the 400m. Keep a good balance
of the speed close to the red field using only the remote, and timing
of the jump over the hurdles. Press B just as you see exploding
stars over the hurdle.
If you play Dr Eggman (or the 100% tall Mii) remember that you need to
make some bad hurdles also or you will loose all stamina quite fast.
After about 30 seconds (hurdle No7) the sprint starts.
Same thing as the 400m just press A and shake both remote and nunchuk
as fast as you can, and finish the run with a jump.
With Dr Eggman (or the 100% tall Mii) you need to run somewhere in
between hurdle No7 and hurdle No8 before you press A for the sprint.
f.Long Jump
Type: Field
50Hz WFC record: 9.741m
60Hz WFC record: 9.812m
My 50Hz PB: 9.741m
My 60Hz PB: 9.812m
Best Characters: Mario is simply the best in this one. No Mii seems to be
able to compete in this event
How to get a great one: To get a great one takes just one little thing.
Clap hands before the try and you will get a good one in no time.
I have experienced that if you clap twice in both 50Hz and 60Hz you will
get a 9.715m (50Hz) or a 9.787m (60Hz) within a few tries.
The key to get a longer one (with clapping) is to shake the
remote/nunchuk slow in the beginning of the running part, and at the same
pace as the clapping sound.
I start with: clap1 remote, clap2 nunchuk,clap3 remote,clap4 nunchuk and
then just shake as fast as possible.
If you get this right you will have full speed just before the speed lock.
The only way to get a perfect one is to jump close to the line, but most
times you end up with a fault. This event takes some practise.
g.Triple Jump
Type: Field
50Hz WFC record: 19.554m
60Hz WFC record: 19.587m
My 50Hz PB: 19.554m
My 60Hz PB: 19.587m
Best Characters: Luigi is the best one, and no Mii is good enough to
compete with him.
How to get a great one: You need to clap hands before the try or you
won´t stand a chance of getting a great one.
I clap 4 times (50Hz) and 6 times (60Hz) before I give it a go.
To get the first GREAT jump you need to get close to the line. For the
second GREAT jump it´s important to shake the remote ASAP when you hit
the ground. Same thing with the third GREAT jump but here comes also
an important thing! After leaving the ground you must shake the
remote/Nunchuk fast for a longer jump. If you do this right you will
see stars once you are over the sand.
You don´t need much power to do this event. I point the remote slightly
down once the running part is over, and just shake the remote upwards to
jump.
h.Hammer Throw
Type: Field
50Hz WFC record: 92.026m
60Hz WFC record: 92.176m
My 50Hz PB: 92.026m
My 60Hz PB: 92.176m
Best Characters: Power is the key and Bowser is the best. No Mii has the
capacity to get that good.
How to get a great one: You don´t need to wave the remote in circles.
I use a boxing punch style. Just a straight move forward and back.
You might need to change the angle of the remote to get this to work,
but once you get the technique you will find it way easier to get full
speed. For the actual throw wait for the 1 to show on the screen and
try to press B just slightly to the right of a complete straight one.
Important fact! You need to press A right after you make the throw.
This is the key to get a really good throw
i.Javelin Throw
Type: Field
50Hz WFC record: 119.867m
60Hz WFC record: 119.896m
My 50Hz PB: 119.867m
My 60Hz PB: 119.896m
Best Characters: Vector seems to be the best in game character, but a Mii
is the best one in total
Good Mii stats: 30-50% tall and 100% fat
My 119.867m/119.896m Mii code: 0115-5839-3324
How to get a great one: Only two things really. You need to get the
speed lock at maximum speed, and then you need to create a maxed GREAT
as close to the line as possible.
The second part is the hard one. If you look at the counter that gives
you info of how far you have left you should try and make the throw
once the counter goes below 9 meters. To get a 119m throw you need to
get quite close to the line.
j.Skeet
Type: Shooting
50Hz WFC record: 40pts 0.000s
60Hz WFC record: 40pts 0.000s
My 50Hz PB: 40pts 0.000s
My 60Hz PB: 40pts 0.000s
Best Characters: Shadow is the best one of the in game characters, but
a good Mii is also a good choice.
Good Mii stats: 60-70% tall and 50-70% fat or 40% tall and 0% fat
How to get a great one: This event is kind of strange. The only time that
Seems to count is the first part which decides how large your marker
should be. To get a 0.040 s or less isn´t that hard if you know the
right technique. If you hide the marker the time don´t count so here you
can save some time. Just hide the marker. Either with your hand
(in front of the remote sensor) or by aiming outside the TV screen.
Press start (+) once the dot is close to the center. Reveal the marker
and press start (+) and B in fast order. You should get a GOOD quite
easy with this technique and a much better time in the end.
Try to press start so the "dot" is just outside the middle of
the target.
Then press start (+) and B in a fast move.
If you do this right the dot won´t move at all and you get a GOOD.
The timing of this is the only challange, If you press the B to early
it won´t register the B press and the dot will just continue moving.
And if you press to late it will move a small bit, but that means
that you will loose some time.
The time clocks 0.020s in the 60Hz an 0.016 or 0.017s in
the 60Hz, which means that every little move of the dot makes the
time change by these margins.
So with for an example 6 perfect ones an two good you will end up
with a 0.040s in the 50Hz or a 0.033s in the 60Hz
The hard part is still to get the 40pts, and this is also
a practise thing.
k.Single Sculls
Type: Rowing
50Hz WFC record: 6.19.806s
60Hz WFC record: 6.19.606s
My 50Hz PB: 6.19.806s
My 60Hz PB: 6.19.606s
Best Characters: Daisy is the best
How to get a great one: It is easier to do this event with only the
remote. Then you will only have A, B and A+B combinations to do before
every stroke. The first bit of the race it is just B to press (9 times).
By that time you see a blue and brown post at the top of the screen
After this A is added, and by the second time you see a blue and brown
post the A+B combo are added as well.
To get a fast time you need almost all red notes, but most important is
to hit the right button ASAP. You can actually get all red notes and
still only get a 6.20.xxx time, so push fast for a great one.
l.Archery
Type: Archery
50Hz WFC record: 120pts 6.740s
60Hz WFC record: 120pts 6.766s
My 50Hz PB: 120pts 6.740s
My 60Hz PB: 120pts 6.766s
Best Characters: Waluigi seems to be the best one of the in game
characters, but Peach and Tails are also good choices. A good
Mii also works great.
Good Mii stats: 60-70% tall and 50-70% fat
How to get a great one: To get 120 points isn´t that hard, but to do
it within 20seconds takes a lot of practise.
The wind has a lot of effect on the arrow, making it harder to get a
fast time. But there is a few things to learn about this.
This is where you should move the nunchuk marker:
A side wind of 1 outer yellow
A side wind of 2 inner red
A side wind of 3 inner blue
A side wind of 4 inner black
A side wind of 5 inner black
A side wind of 6 outer black
A side wind of 7 inner white
A side wind of 8 outer white
A side wind of 9 just outside the white
Up/Down wind of 1 inner yellow
Up/Down wind of 2 outer yellow
Up/Down wind of 3 inner red
Up/Down wind of 4 inner red
Up/Down wind of 5 outer red
Up/Down wind of 6 inner blue
Up/Down wind of 7 inner blue
Up/Down wind of 8 outer blue
Up/Down wind of 9 outer blue
If you have a combined side and up/down wind you need to get both
stats right.
Finally to get below 10 seconds you actually need luck with the wind.
Most 120pt rounds has a windy part with winds above 7 meters, but in
some cases you can get a round with 4 meter winds at the most.
It might take some time to get that lucky round, but once you get one
try to get a 120pts;)
m.100m Freestyle
Type: Aquatics
50Hz WFC record: 43.564s
60Hz WFC record: 43.571s
My 50Hz PB: 43.564s
My 60Hz PB: 43.571s
Best Characters: Shadow is the best
How to get a great one: Use only the remote for this event.
And shake it up and down in a longer move.
Also a perfect start is needed as usual.
Wait until the fourth time the B icon is pressed on the screen, charge
and once the bar is full shake the remote down.
The key to get really good in this event is the timing of the breathing.
With Shadow you wan´t to press B as early as possible, but with all
red notes. Try to learn when to press B by looking for the B icon.
When it appears on the screen press B ASAP for a faster time.
Once you get the feeling for it you should be capable of getting
red notes without the B icon showing at the screen at all.
And that´s when you will get a really good one.
n.400 x 100m Freestyle
Type: Aquatics
50Hz WFC record: 2.53.479min
60Hz WFC record: 2.53.414min
My 50Hz PB: 2.53.479min
My 60Hz PB: 2.53.414min
Best Characters: A combination of Shadow, Bowser, Vector and Dr Eggman
is the best one.
How to get a great one: Make shadow the first swimmer and do the
same technique as in the 100m freestyle.
For the other three characters you need to do the breathing as late
as possible. You need to wait until almost all stamina is lost before
you press the B button. To get below 2.54min you need all red notes
and a almost perfect start.
=========================================================================
6. Other Events
o.High Jump
Type: Field
Best Characters: Knuckles and Shadow, but i believe that it´s possible
to get a maximum 2.60m with almost any character.
How to get a great one: Well this event is not a real challange.
You shake the remote/nunchuk at the start and after a little bit of
running the speed locks. To jump you swing the remote upwards, and try
to aim for the dark blue part on the meter. Once you get over the bar
flip the remote upwards to raise the legs of the character.
Also look before the try, and you may see notes (green or red). You
start to get these after you made two succesful tries, and you can get
up to four red notes. To get a 2.60m isn´t hard, and it´s even easier if
you get four red notes.
p.Pole Vault
Type:Field
Best Characters: Most characters can reach the maximum 6.30m. I usually
play Shadow.
How to get a great one: This event is just slightly harder than the
High Jump. Start by shaking the remote/nunchuk for speed, once the speed
locks you will see a meter on the ground. You shake the remote down to
jump and try to aim for the dark blue part. To keep the speed all the way
during the jump part you need to shake the remote/Nunchuk as fast as
possible. And getting a 6.30m is easier if you get four red notes before
the try. You start to get notes after 2 succesful tries, so starting on
a lower hight and making a couple of succesful jumps will help.
q.Trampoline
Type: Gymnastics
Best Characters: Dr Eggman is the best in my opinion. You get easier
combos with him. However most skilled characters works well.
How to get a great one: It´s a simple gameplay. Start of by swinging the
remote upwards right before the character touches the trampoline.
Once you get the right height (about 7m), it´s time for the tricks
to take place. You will see a combination of button showing on the
screen. If you push the right combination of A,B and twisting the
remote you get a good or great. For a perfect 10 point you need to do
all combinations perfect.
r.Vault
Type: Gymnastics
Best Characters: Mii or an in game character? The choice is yours.
How to get a great one: Start of by shaking the remote/nunchuk and try
to get max speed. At the time you get on to the springboard, swing the
remote up to maintain speed. Then it´s time to do the tricks.
This is done by either swinging remote down (flex spin),swinging nunchuk
down (stretch spin) or swinging both remote and nunchuk at the same time
(twist spin). Try to do different moves to get combos (!).
And end the jump by pressing A.
s.Individual epee
Type: Fencing
Best Characters: Mii or an in game character? The choice is yours.
How to get a great one: Simple gameplay. Use the nunchuks analog stick
to move the character and swing the remote down to thrust.
Swing the remote down while pressing A to parry, and press B to Feint.
To get a perfect 15-0 is easier against DR Eggman or Bowser since they
are pretty easy to learn. Once you get a hit against them, they will
thrust back at you. So just move back directly after your hit, wait
until they do their thrust move, move forward and try to hit them again.
t.Table Tennis
Type: Table Tennis
Best Characters: Mii or an in game character? The choice is yours.
How to get a great one: Swing the remote up to toss the ball and then
swing the remote sideways to serve. To play just swing the remote
sideways. The ball will move in different directions based on which
timing you have. A early hit makes the ball go left, a late hit makes
it go right and with perfect timing you will get a straight one.
You can perform a defensive move (chop) by pressing A and swing the
remote. Or if you are a offensive player (like me) you press B and
swing the remote to perform a smash. To get a perfect 11-0 victory
i find it easier to play normal, without smashes or chops.
Just try to return the ball and the competitor will eventually make
a mistake.
u.Dream Race
Type: Dream
Best Characters: Speed is an advantage but most characters will
perform good since it´s more about what items you get during the run.
How to get a great one: You need luck with the items to create a
great time. Try to run on all speedboost arrows, and if you get a
star item keep it until your competitors either toss a red shell or
gets a lightning item. Ghost items makes you slow down so try to
run on the nearest speedboost arrow to get rid of it.
And don´t forget to jump over the hurdles ;)
v.Dream Platform
Type: Dream
Best Characters: Mii or an in game character? The choice is yours.
How to get a great one:Point your remote down to speed up and hold it
horizontal to slow down. Try to go through as many rings as possible,
and perform the button combinations (A,B, and twisting the remote)
that shows on the screen to get extra points.
There are different colors on the rings: red, green, and yellow.
Red has the least moves, and yellow the most. Aim for the yellow ones
if you want to get a great score.
w.Dream Fencing
Type: Dream
Best Characters: Power characters seems to be the best.
How to get a great one: The gameplay is the same as the individual
epee but you now have a lifebar. You also have special move.
they are different moves depending on your character type.
You have a bar that fills up for this. Once your bar fills up you can
use it by pressing A+B and swinging the remote down.
The special move makes greater damage, and you can even knock your
opponent off the platform if you use it near the edge.
Once your opponents lifebar is empty you win.
x.Dream Table Tennis
Type: Dream
Best Characters: Mii or an in game character? The choice is yours.
How to get a great one: Same as regular Table Tennis but now points
are based on how many times the ball goes over the net.
You also have a bar that charges up for a special move.
Once it´s filled at least once you can use it by pressing A+B and
swing the remote sideways.
They are especially helpful as a defensive move. Just wait for your
opponent to do a special move, and use it as a counter attack.
To get a perfect 50-0 is hard but not impossible.
