Hi readers! The name is Jono, and if you haven't already noticed, this is a
guide for LITTLE KING'S STORY for the Nintendo Wii.
This is my first-ever FAQ. Before now, I have never been inclined to write a
game guide, but as I started playing this game (four days ago from writing
this), I knew that this would be the game that would kick-start my writing
career of sorts.
When I saw this game on shelves, I was very sceptical about buying it. I
hadn't been following it online, and my support for the Wii had halted since
my last purchase of de Blob and Wario Land Wii back in October of 2008. Working
at EB Games, I saw a lot of crap hit the shelves, and if it weren't for a
co-worker convincing me to buy it, I would have never given it a second
thought. How wrong I was though! This game is incredible and I'm glad you're
playing it (which I assume if you're reading this).
I wrote this guide playing on Normal mode. There may be slight differences
in gameplay between higher and lower difficulties.
Please note this guide may contain spoilers.
If you see this guide on any site other than Gamefaqs, please email me
immediately with the offending site's address and the date you saw the
offence.

Just proofread and fixed some silly spelling errors. Fixed the names of a few
things too.
Little King's Story can be hard to get your head around when just starting
off. Even worse is the fact that the game doesn't always tell you everything
you need to know. This section will attempt to outline everything there is to
know about playing Little King's Story.

Aim of the game
---------------
In Little King's Story, the overall aim of the game is to 'unite' the entire
world. This involves travelling to the far ends of the world and dethroning
the 7 Kings. King must also defeat the Guardian Onii which occupy most of the
world in order to obtain more land so more citizens will move into the kingdom
of Alpoko.
In order to support Alpoko's economy, King must continually cash in various
treasures dropped by enemies in exchange for this world's currency, Bol. Bol
is used to finance all sorts of things, from building houses for new citizens
to move into, buying infrastructure so Carefree Adults will get jobs, upgrading
citizen's health, weapons and armor, and making ruling for King that little
bit easier.
The game runs on a Day and Night system. Usually, the King will wake up in
the morning, perform errands by day and return to the castle in the evening
to sleep. However, sleep is not necessary at all, and some events will only
be triggered at certain times of the day or night. The King, later in the
game can choose the time he wakes up at by purchasing a special item. The King
and his cohorts do not actually need to sleep, but resting restores health to
everyone in the kingdom, King included.
The King only has 3 health units. While other units will get stronger when
certain laws are introduced, the King will always have the same amount of
health. 3 health units means 3 hits before the King dies and you get 'Life
Over'. While most enemies will not attack King directly, some enemies focus
their attacks not on his Royal Guard, but at King himself. For this reason,
you should always stay on the lookout for enemies and their attacks, and try
to keep him as far away from the action as possible.
There is not a formal battle sequence in Little King's Story. If you encounter
an enemy. You have full control of King (and by deduction, your Royal Guard).
Send your Soldiers and any other units in to attack the enemy until it goes
down (indicated by a red health circle above the enemy's head). You can run
away at any time, but if you go too far, the enemy may regain all its health.
Enemies also respawn, so don't stray too far away unless you want to fight
again.

From the above section, you can see that there are many functions available to
you, depending on the context. Such large amounts of controls can get
confusing, especially for a controller with limited buttons! This section will
go through the most important/useful functions which you will use often
throughout the game. This section will take the same Kingdom, Field, and Battle
categories as above.
***********
**Kingdom**
***********
Throwing citizens (A) - I particularly want to look at throwing citizens into
houses. When you are near a house, a door icon will appear. If the house is a
job hut, any citizens thrown in will gain the job which the hut specifies. If
it's an ordinary house, you should throw your entire Royal Guard into the
house, because they will each collect taxes, increasing your total Bol. You can
do this once per day to each house. At the beginning of the game, most houses
will give between 1,000 and 3,000 Bol. Later on when you purchase more
expensive houses, this amount will skyrocket! Claiming taxes is a very useful
source of revenue!!
Furthermore, if you want to revert a citizen with a job back into a Carefree
Adult, you can throw them at the gong-shaped Carefree Rock located to the right
side of the castle. You shouldn't need this very often, if it all though.
Recruiting (B) - At the beginning of the game, recruiting is essential. It
allows you to pick up random citizens off the street and let them join your
Royal Guard. When you get the King's Pedestal, you can call certain groups of
citizens forth and recruit who you please.
When you upgrade the King's Pedestal again, you can view the Citizen's List
which allows you to recruit particular members into your Guard. In the
Citizen's List, you can organise all your citizens into particular categories,
from whether they're in the Royal Guard, by alphabetical order, by Job, by
Health and by Item Equipped. This is a great function because instead of
guessing who is going in your party by using the Recruit function, you can
automatically put members you want into your Royal Guard.
A personal recommendation is to put citizens with the highest health from each
job into your Royal Guard.
You can also view the Citizen's List through Liam when you obtain your first
Item.
Z-targeting (Z) - Reminds you of Zelda, doesn't it? The target function is
automatically set to off and cannot be changed. Normally, only when you get
close enough to something will you target it. By pressing Z, a straight line
will appear from the King in the direction he's facing, and will help you to
aim at anything that can be targeted. The target symbol will always appear from
the furthest possible distance using this function.
Disband Royal Guard (1) - At the beginning of the game when you only need a
particular Job to help you, disbanding can be good for recruiting a whole new
party. Later on when you build the Church, citizens may fall in love. Usually,
you will not get a message that citizens have fallen in love until you Disband
your entire Royal Guard.
*********
**Field**
*********
Cancelling a citizen's current action (B) - When destroying certain things on
the ground or creating things on the field, enemies may approach (or shoot
projectiles) at your army. In order to avoid damage, you should press B to
return everyone to your position. You may have to do this constantly while
breaking or building if an enemy is too far away to kill and shoots projectiles
to a fixed position.
Using King's Staff (C) - This is something the game does not explain. When on
the field, if you press C, the King will beckon his staff forward and will
shoot a star a short distance forward. This star can destroy small objects
such as plants and pots which can take a while for members of your Guard to do
if you send them in. It's a great time-saver!
You can also help to destroy larger objects such as tree trunks and rocks with
the staff (but it won't destroy them in one hit).
Change Formation (Directional Pad UP) - Only available when you have bought
another formation. Pressing UP will alternate between Battle, Defense and
Evade Formations, in that order.
At the beginning of the game, only Attack Formation is available. In this
formation, your Guard stands behind the King in rows of 3 and await your
orders. They can also counter-attack enemy attacks.
In Defense Formation, your Guard surrounds the King in a circle, blocking most
attacks aimed at him. This formation is great for moving your entire army away
from danger very quickly because everyone is packed tightly together. You do
however, lose the ability to counter-attack in battle.
The final formation is Evasive. Here, the Royal Guard stands behind the King in
a single file and will copy the exact same movements as the King. This is great
for traversing narrow pathways and sneaking between enemies who have not yet
noticed you. The down-side to this is that if someone in your formation is
attacked, they will be left behind and you must go back and retrieve them. For
this reason, sometimes it is best to move in Defense Formation.
Z-targeting (Z) - In the Field, this should be turned on at all times. Having
it on, you may see a crack in the ground or something breakable that you may
not have noticed before.
Organising Guard members into jobs (Directional Pad DOWN) - This is a great
function if you only want certain members to perform an action on the field.
If you need to build a bridge and you don't want soldiers to help (and trust
me, you don't want soldiers to help!), keep pressing down until you have your
carpenters at the front, A to throw them towards the sign, then get everyone
else to help (except soldiers) by alternating between DOWN and A.
**SIDE NOTE**
You can automatically jump back to the castle, reducing the need to trapse all
the way back through danger, by pressing the menu button (+ or -) and pressing
2. You will appear in the lobby of the castle and will not lose any of your
items. Great for when characters only have a little bit of health left and
it's a dangerous path back to Alpoko. You can't do this if enemies are too
close. Simply move further away until the option becomes available.
**********
**Battle**
**********
Retreat (B) - When you are fighting an enemy, you will often see a steam icon
coming out from just above the enemy. This means that it is going to attack!
If you have units near the enemy, you should press B immediately to retreat
and prevent them from taking damage. Sometimes the time between the steam icon
and the attack is very small, so having quick reflexes is a plus!
Z-targeting (Z) - In battle, this should be turned on at all times so you can
always see the enemy's health and position.
Using King's Staff (C) - The King's Staff can also be used to attack enemies
and bosses, however it doesn't do much damage, and places the king at great
risk of damage. Best avoided.
Changing Formation (Direction Pad UP) - Defense Formation is great in battle -
particularly boss battles - where attacks are aimed at the King. Not only does
it defend the King from damage, but sometimes due to the closeness of your
army, will help prevent damage to your units too. Also, if there is great
danger and you are running away, Defense Formation can be better for running
than Evasive Formation.
Don't forget about Attack Formation either, though.
Organising Guard members into jobs (Directional Pad DOWN) - Also great when you
only want a particular Job to attack an enemy (for example, Soldiers and Animal
Hunters). Use the same way as on the Field.
**SIDE NOTE**
Just be aware that bringing up the menu with + or - doesn't pause the game. You
have to go into a sub-menu for the game to pause.
A better way to pause therefore, is to press the HOME button on the Wii Remote.
This will immediately pause the game. Just be careful not to Quit or Reset the
game, as you can only save inside your castle.

Royal Guard
---------------
The Royal Guard in Little King's Story refers to what is commonly known as the
Party System. This is the group of units that escort King to complete daily
tasks and assist you in uniting the world. You can fill your Royal Guard with
any combination of Job classes; you are not restricted to one member of each
class.
There is however a size restriction which increases as you buy upgrades made
available to you as you proceed through the game. The size increases as
follows:
When exploring an area for the first time, it's good to have at least one
member of each class available to you, with a numerous amount of Soldiers and
Animal Hunters (when they become available). When fighting Guardians, a Royal
Guard consisting of only Soldiers and Animal Hunters is advised, and when
fighting Kings, usually the same, with the addition of particular classes that
make the battle easier (explained later).
For example, a good exploring party of 8 guards is:
3 Soldiers
3 Animal Hunters
1 Farmer
1 Carpenter
Usually, you only need one member of classes other than Soldiers and Animal
Hunters, but if you have extra space (with say a party of 23 or 30 guards),
you can double up on some classes (Cook, Miner or Carpenter for example).
---------------
[0205]
Characters
---------------
There are key characters in Little King's Story pivotal to your progress.
This is who they are:
He is your Royal Advisor. In order to expand your Kingdom, you must go through
Howser. When you call Howser from your throne, you will get two options (only
one in the very early game). The first is the Suggestion Box. It is here that
you will receive letters from your very own people. Often, there will be
quests for you to accept.
The other option is Kingdom Plan. It's here that you can buy infrastructure and
houses, each seperated by area. At first, only Castle Town will be available,
but as you defeat Area Guardians, this will expand and Alpoko will become
rather large.
You will also find, as the game goes on, more options in Kingdom Plan. When
Merchants come to visit, the things they sell will be available in Special or
Upgrade. Special holds things which make running Alpoko easier (like the
Cannon and Podium), and Upgrade - funnily enough - upgrades every unit.
*********
**Verde**
*********
You will probably speak to Verde the most. She saves your game! You should save
every time you leave the Kingdom, as you never know what might happen! This is
the only place you can Save, so do it often (as she advises).
You can also view Kingdom information through her. She will tell you how many
people are in Alpoko at that time, show population growth in a graph, detail
how many people love and hate (and meh!) the King, and also the amount of
people in each class. Fairly useful if you're interested.
********
**Liam**
********
Ahh Liam. With this guide, you won't need to consult with Liam all that often,
but he does have his uses. Firstly, he will give you tutorials on how to run
the Kingdom. Secondly, he will explain each Job (not in great detail, mind
you).
His third function, which is fairly useful, is to equip items to citizens. This
isn't available until you discover your first piece of equipment. Go to
Treasure Room, select the item you want to equip and put it on someone. Done!
Too easy! You can also access the Citizen List through Treasure Room by
pressing 2; useful if you haven't unlocked the Podium yet.
**************
**Skinny Ray**
**************
This is the looney Astronomer. He will talk about earthquakes and stars
falling from the sky. It's no wonder people question his credibility. Later on,
he'll send you on a quest, but it need not be discussed here.
************
**Kampbell**
************
Another looney, this is the resident Reverent (try saying that 10 times really
fast). He talks about God and he doesn't seem all too find of the King. And
he's quite obsessed with Ramen. I don't blame him, ramen is fair awesome!
---------------
[0206]
Jobs
---------------
Jobs are crucial to your success. To get a job, first you must have built a job
hut for your citizens, then simply throw them into the hut and they will come
out with a job!
The number of jobs available to you from the start is limited, but as Alpoko
expands, so will the number of Jobs available. You have to purchase Job huts
before these jobs become available. There are 13 Standard Jobs, and 7 Unique
Jobs, totalling 20 all together.
Some jobs may also incur a fee.
The Standard Jobs are as follows:
******************
**Carefree Adult**
******************
Job Hut: Royal School, Royal City
Cost to build: 5000,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 0 Bol
Other: Start off with them when you begin playing; when you create more
housing, Carefree Adults join the city; hit citizens with jobs into the
Carefree Rock by the castle to revert back to Carefree Adult.
Description: Carefree adults are fairly useless. They can really only dig
holes, and they have low health. Your only need for these is on Day 1 of the
game. After that, there is no reason why you should ever have one in your party
(except to get married).
Ability: Dig holes at normal speed
******************
**Carefree Child**
******************
Job Hut: Soup Church, Castle Town
Cost to build: 44,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 0 Bol
Other: You can't just send citizens into the Church and they become children
(that makes no sense!!); you must find two citizens in love and send them into
the church, and they come out and get married, and a chicken drops a Carefree
Child from the sky.
Description: These young 'uns are almost as useless as Carefree Adults.
However, they have the uncanny ability to climb BLUE trees. Until the Art
Gallery becomes available, there is no need to have one, but after that,
they have their use. They have low health so I wouldn't advise you keep one in
your party. When you find a tree, make a note of it and return to it later.
Ability: Climbing trees
**********
**Farmer**
**********
Job Hut: Farmhouse, Castle Town; Moon Harvest, Farmland
Cost to build: Castle Town - 90,000 Bol; Farmland - 1210,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 0 Bol
Description: With the ability to dig holes, these guys are already as good
Carefree Adults. They can also turn cracks in the ground into holes, and can
use their hoes to break small tree trunks and rocks, and damage enemies (though
I wouldn't use them as your main fighters). They dig holes at a faster rate
than any other class. They can also assist in the destruction of bigger
objects once the appropriate Job has broken them into small pieces, and help
to construction bridges and staircases.
Ability: Turning cracks into holes
*****************
**Grunt Soldier**
*****************
Job Hut: Guard House, Castle Town
Cost to build: 100,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 0 Bol
Description: This is your warrior class. These are the guys who will do the
majority of your fighting. With their swords, they can do greater damage to
enemies, and destroy small tree trunks and rocks. They can also assist in the
destruction of bigger objects once the appropriate Job has broken them into
small pieces. Don't send these guys to assist Carpenters though, as they will
not help build structures, they will break them!
Ability: Killing enemies
*************
**Carpenter**
*************
Job Hut: Carpenter Hut, Castle Town
Cost to build: 1050,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 50,000 Bol
Description: These are the guys who start out as your builders. Whenever you
see a sign with a hammer on it, send your Carpenters forth and they will start
building. The more you have building, the quicker the process. Also, when walls
start coming up (about a quarter to half way through the process), send all
the other jobs (except Soldiers) in to help! This will get the job done even
quicker! Carpenters can build stairs, bridges and cannons (if you've bought the
Moo Cannon).
Ability: Build stairs, bridges and cannons
*****************
**Animal Hunter**
*****************
Job Hut: Hunter Hut, Grassland Town
Cost to build: 4500,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 100,000 Bol
Description: This is your archer type. They are very adept at shooting enemies
from afar, particular those above who other classes cannot reach. They can also
shoot projectiles like pots that are thrown at you down below. There is a limit
to how many arrows you can shoot however, indicated by the arrow symbol on the
bottom left of the screen, with a number following. For each archer in your
party, you get 40 arrows, so the more archers, the more arrows. Very useful
class!
Ability: Shoot enemies from far away
*******************
**Buff Lumberjack**
*******************
Job Hut: Lumberjack Hut, Farmland
Cost to build: 3800,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 150,000 Bol
Description: These are your woodcutters. If you see a large fallen tree, these
guys can break it into smaller pieces for everyone else to help destroy. They
also cut smaller pieces of wood at a faster rate.
Ability: Destroy large trees
******************
**Savvy Merchant**
******************
Job Hut: Shopping Arcade, Farmland
Cost to build: 19999,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 1500,000 Bol
Description: This class is the biggest waste of money in my opinion. You have
to save your Bol for a very long time and they never really pay themselves off
once they're in your party. You do need them for a particular boss fight.
Anyway, these guys can discover cracks in the ground unseen to the eye. To use
them, you must throw them forwards, and if there's a crack, a lightbulb will
appear above their head and they'll jump around a bit. They also open large
purses which contain treasure worth 3000,000 Bol. There's just not enough
purses around to make up for the 19999,000 Bol you payed to get a Merchant in
the first place...
Ability: Discover hidden cracks and open purses
**************
**Buff Miner**
**************
Job Hut: Stonecutting Plant, Stone City
Cost to build: 7480,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 300,000 Bol
Description: These guys are profficient at destroying large rocks which other
jobs can't. When they break a large rock into smaller pieces, it allows other
classes to join in on the destruction. They can destroy smaller rocks at a
faster rate than any other class, and can kill the Rocky enemy in one fell
swoop. They are also fairly strong in battle, but don't substitute them for
Soldiers.
Ability: Destroy larger rocks
******************
**Mega Carpenter**
******************
Job Hut: Furniture Factory, Stone City
Cost to build: 4550,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 1000,000
Description: An upgrade to the Carpenter. They build things faster than
Carpenters. They render the Carpenter useless, so get rid of any Carpenters by
turning them into Mega Carpenters.
Ability: Build stairs, bridges and cannons faster.
********************
**Hardened Soldier**
********************
Job Hut: Veteran's Barracks, Soldier City
Cost to build: 9100,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 1000,000 Bol
Description: This is an upgrade to the Grunt. They are stronger than ordinary
Grunts, occassionally use special attacks and sometimes block enemy attacks.
Their health is quite impressive, usually reaching into the mid-teens. Don't
bother keeping ordinary Soldiers in your Guard once you have access to this
Job.
Ability: Use special attacks and block attacks occassionally.
****************
**Gourmet Cook**
****************
Job Hut: Culinary Academy, Gourmet Town, Royal City
Cost to build: Gourmet Town - 11200,000 Bol; Royal City - 7200,000 Bol
Cost to create job: 500,000 Bol
Description: When the job first came available, I wondered what the use of a
Cook would be. I first went into Sunflower Plains without a Cook and boy was I
sorry. These guys cook chickens! Yes, cook them. They can kill chicken-type
enemies in one hit, and usually do so undetected. They are the only class who
can kill the Concodores (gold-coloured chickens). Definitely worth having at
least one in your Royal Guard. I'm serious.
Ability: Kill chicken-types in hit.
******************
**Giga Carpenter**
******************
Job Hut: Giga Grinder
Cost to build: 7050,000
Cost to create job: 1500,000 Bol
Description: An upgrade to the Mega Carpenter. They are even faster at building
things, and defeat the purpose of any longer keeping Mega Carpenters in your
Guard.
Ability: Build hi-tech elevators and large bridges even faster.
The Unique Jobs are as follows:
******************
**Rainbow Wizard**
******************
Unlocked by: Developing Magical land for 199999,000 Bol. You then must wait
for a Carefree Adult to tell you that something strange will appear in Magical
Land at around midnight. There will be your Magician.
Description: Much like an Animal Hunter in that it uses ammo. The magician uses
spells to turn enemies into harmless rocks. Practically useless once it uses
all its magic.
Ability: Turn enemies into wood and rocks.
**********
**Doctor**
**********
Unlocked by: Making all the donations to the Royal School. The Doctor can then
be found roaming around Glamour Town sometime after (usually around 6pm).
Description:
Ability:
**********
**Knight**
**********
Unlocked by: Purchasing the Cursed Armour, and waiting for it to appear.
Description:
Ability:
**********
**Eggan**
**********
Unlocked by: Defeating Omelet, and waiting for it to appear.
Description: A unit typified by its egg shell exterior. Having one in your
party allows to get rid of boiled eggs which are mainly found in Skull Plains.
They also do more damage to chickens, but they're no substitute for a Cook.
Ability: Destroy eggs
***************
**Broadcaster**
***************
Unlocked by: Defeating TV Dinnah, and waiting for it to appear.
Description:
Ability:
***********
**Mountie**

Quests
---------------
As discussed earlier, you need to view the Suggestion Box through Howser to
access quests. You can see which letter is a quest and which is not by the star
rating to the right of the title.
There are four kinds of quests: the first is random-generated which appear in
your inbox almost every day. These involve fighting either an enemy or a
'gang'. These are usually fairly easy and can be beaten with your standard
Royal Guard - you don't often need only Soldiers and Archers.
The second kind is an invitation to fight an area Guardian. They appear usually
after beating a King, up until the Ripe Kingdom. Guardians are bosses and some
can be quite difficult, so a battle party is usually recommended. Beating
Guardians expands the Alpoko Kingdom.
The third kind is a Princess quest. When you save a Princess, she usually has a
job for you. When you receive the letter, you should talk to the respective
Princess and find out what needs doing. When you talk to them, the quest is
complete, but they always give you a book which you must fill out be collecting
various things.
The final kind happens to be the easiest. You must pay Liam and Verde. These
quests don't become available until you've beaten your third King and the
Palace has expanded a second time. Liam and Verde become very uptight and
demand their pay - usually an outrageous amount. You should pay them anyway,
because this triggers merchants to sell you more things. These will eventually
stop.
Each quest has a difficulty rating from 1 star (being easiest) to 5 stars
(hardest). The difficulty rating the game gives is not always correct, so be
sure to consult the Quest List [0400] after the Walkthrough.

[0208]
Getting Married
---------------
Love. It's a strange concept, and one even stranger in Little King's Story.
Often when you disband your Royal Guard, you will get messages saying the party
like each other a little more, or even certain citizens have fallen in love!
If that's the case, you should head over to the Soup Church and throw the two
people in love in. The screen will fade, and out will come the married couple,
and a chicken will fly across and drop a Carefree Child, adding another citizen
to your town!
You don't have to throw just the two people in. You can throw your entire royal
guard, and any two in love will get married. Sometimes units will be in love
without you knowing it, and it may shock you when more people get married.
Also, your citizens are not monogomous. They are able to marry other people!
---------------
[0209]
Dying
---------------
If a unit's health runs out, they will die and you will get a message saying
"[name] has died!" Once a unit is dead, they cannot be brought back to life.
However, they may just return the next day to Over-There Beach. If they don't
return, a message the next day will instead say the that character has died.
There will be a funeral, your town's morale will go down and the people will
be dressed in black.
If you lose too many members from one fight, a message will say "You are dying
too quickly! Too bad." If you get this message, you should probably reset your
game as you may not get these members back the next day. For this reason, you
should always save before you leave the castle, and especially before you go
to fight a boss.
Similarly, if the King loses all his health, it will be 'Life Over' and you
will return to the title screen. This means you have to load from your last
save.

[0210]
Items
---------------
This game wouldn't be much of an RPG if there weren't things to equip! Items
appear in the form of drops which at first, you have no way of distinguishing.
When you go to claim your prizes at your throne, instead of a Bol amount, it
will say Treasure. You should call Liam over and see what the treasure does.
Life +(value) Increase HP by the value indicated
Power UP Increases strength (don't know by how much)
Stun May paralyze the enemy on occassion (quite useful)
Hand Warmer Immune to Snowman status
Hand Cooler Immune to Fire status
Sterile Undies Immune to Poison status
Toy (weapon) Does not have an effect, simply for show.
Legendary (weapon) One of the above effects, except slightly better than
normal
If you equip these to your units (preferably your Royal Guard), they will adopt
these effects.
You may also find Legendary Weapons or Armour. These are very powerful weapons
which you should give to your best units to increase their skills even more.
There is only one of each kind.
Some jobs can only equip certain weapons. For example, Archers cannot equip
Swords, and Soldiers cannot equip Bows.
Finally, units can only equip one item so choose wisely!
Here it is! The part of the guide you've been waiting for! Good luck on your
quest, King!! This guide will assume you've read the above section. If you're
confused about certain terms, please go back and read the Gameplay section.

[0301]
Day 1
---------------
Welcome to thie Kingdom of Alpoko! It's quite quaint really, but it does the
trick. Sit back while Howser ordains you and prepare to make your first move.
When the cutscene ends, you have full control over King. Talk to Howser (the
guy with the crazy moustache) and he will tell you to meet your ministers.
Liam, the big guy, and Verde, the girl in green are they. They're in the
room to the left.
Talk to them and return to Howser. He's impressed! He then tells you to sit on
your throne. Press A when there's a question mark above the King's head and he
will sit down. Call forth Howser. He will tell you the situation of the
kingdom. It seems you're completely poor (judging by the condition of the
castle, I'd say he's right). So the next thing to do is go treasure hunting!!
Your goal is to earn 100,000 Bol. It sounds like a lot, but in Alpoko currency,
the last three zeroes don't mean a thing, so you're really only looking for
100 Bol.
Just a quick note before you head outside: The room to the right is the King's
bedroom. You can use this to restore health to both you and your citizens.
Head outside. Head down the brigde and for the first time you'll see your town!
There's a few scattered buildings in the centre; to the right is a hole
blowing steam and a log you can't destroy yet. To the left is a decrepit
graveyard and a sign with a hammer on it. Don't worry about that for now.
You should recruit some Carefree Adults. Go up to one and press B and they will
join your Royal Guard. In the bottom-left corner of the town, there is a hole;
get them to dig it up. You'll get Gold Coins. Return to that steaming hole and
dig up the nearby plants. One will uncover a hole. Dig it up to uncover... an
even bigger hole! You will eventually reveal a Bag of Coins! Finally, head back
over the bridge and to the left side of the castle to find another hole which
has more Gold Coins. Head back in to your castle and sit upon your throne to
claim your reward. Yay! You got 100,000 Bol!
You must use this new money to solve the inherent problem of unemployment! In
Kingdom Plan, build a Farmhouse for 90,000 Bol. And that's the day complete!
---------------
[0302]
Day 2
---------------
Rise and shine! Head on out of your room to be greeted by Howser. Your next act
is to give everyone jobs to obtain another 100,000 Bol. Feel free to Save your
game before you head out.
At the town square you will discover a new building! Send five citizens on in
and go to that steaming hole. Send a Farmer over it to uncover a Hot Spring.
If you lose health, you can send units or yourself into the spring to recover
all your health. Handy! You can now also destroy that log. Send two Farmers at
it and it will break. Ignore the turnips for now and go for the logs. There are
a couple of paths which are not accessible, as the the logs are far too large
to break. If you're ready for your first fight with an enemy (known as UMA -
Unidentified Mystery Animal), start on the turnips. The left one will have a
Shining Turnip. The one on the right contains three Turnipheads.
Aim for one at a time (easier said as they tend to stay in their group) and
retreat when steam appears above their heads. This means they're about to
attack. They'll go down without much hassle, and hopefully you shouldn't lose
too much health, if any. They drop three Good Turnips. Head down the path which
isn't blocked by a giant stump to hear a new upbeat tune. You will see some
more turnip fields and another log. Destroy the log first and and head down
the newly-opened path.
This is Over-There Beach. This is where citizens return to if they die in
battle (sometimes). Destroy the logs, one of which hides a hole where you can
find some Gold Coins. Further up, you'lll find a pot and some silly-looking
crabs, contained by some LEGO blocks. You can't do anything here for the time
being, so return to the turnip field. One of the turnips is an UMA. The rest
should give you spoils. Same situation with the next patch. Make sure to kill
the enemy before continuing to farm the turnips.
You will see a log near the third patch. Destroy this one to get back to town.
But before you do, head down to the next log to enter the graveyard. There will
be two Escargoos in here. They are quite easy; like the Turnipheads, just keep
attacking and retreat when necessary. Just be careful as they can spit poison
on you. When they're down, uncover the hole and dig them up. One has a Gold Bar
and the other Gold Coins.
Head back to the castle (the UMA may have respawned, so take them out if needs
be), but before you do, go to the back area and you'll see another crack.
Uncover it for another Gold Bar. Go inside and sit on the throne. A Gold Bar
alone is enough to reach the 100,000 Bol Target, but with the amount of
exploring you did today, you could have at least 1500,000 Bol. Awesome!
Speak to Verde and save, then Howser. This time, build the Guard House. Howser
will ponder how to get more citizens in the small town. Sleep on it.
---------------
[0303]
Day 3 & 4
---------------
Howser greets you for another fine morning. He explains that the people should
decide how to make the town better, and for this reason, you need 1200,000 Bol
to build the Town Square. You should have plenty of funds from yesterday, but
before you purchase it, go and get five Soldiers. Feel free to try them out on
some enemies. You'll notice they're much stronger than Farmers. They can
usually take out these enemies with just one attack phase. When you're done,
go and sit on the throne and build the Town Square. Howser assures you that
the addition of the Suggestion Box will find a way of expanding the kingdom.
In the meanwhile, have a sleep.
You will see a cutscene of a citizen putting a letter in the box. Seems like it
was a good plan.
The next morning, you'll be greeted once again by Howser. You can access the
Suggestion Box through Howser. The first two letters are from Howser and Verde,
and the third, the most important, is a quest. Accept it and see Howser's
reaction to the "legendary Cow Bones of the Cemetery". Apparently, defeating
him will wipe away enemies from that area. Interesting. Make sure you save
through Verde, and head on out.
You'll want to get five Soldiers in your Royal Guard, and head to the Cemetery.
Ignore the enemies on the way.
There it is! Cow Bones! Your very first Boss Battle! How exciting!
Funnily enough, the only bones on this cow is its head. Circle the cow before
it charges at you. When it hits the wall, it's skull will go flying up into
the air. This is your time to attack it. You must retreat your Soldiers before
the skull returns to the cow, otherwise they'll be thrown off and unusable for
a few moments.
It may also jump up in the air, and slam the ground, damaging anyone nearby.
Just stay well away from where he jumps to avoid this attack.
Its final attack is to throw its head forward, around the edge of the area and </pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
then back. When the head is off, you can attack the cow very quickly, but you
won't have much time. The skull will do damage if it hits anyone. It may throw
the skull twice so be careful and keep moving.
Keep hitting in it when you have time and it should go down rather quickly and
without too much hassle.
---------------
With the cow down, you get a Gold Bar worth 1000,000 Bol. If any of your
Soldiers die, you will lose a certain amount of Bol for each unit down.
---------------
[0304]
The Onii Grounds
---------------
Wake up the next morning to go out and enjoy the Cow Festival. Everyone will
be wearing cow skulls and enjoying themselves. You can check out the new part
of town if you like. As promised, the UMA are all gone, and when the festival
is over, you can start developing on this new land!
When you're ready to finish celebrating, sit on your throne or visit the forest
and select yes. Time to sleep I guess.
There will be another cutscene featuring Howser and Liam. Could it be a plot to
get rid of the King? No. Howser wants Liam to put a sign with a hammer on it.
That's all.
Howser will greet you once again, and will tell you to not become complacent.
Your next goal is... WORLD DOMINATION?!!? Howser sure is strange. Take it with
a grain of salt as you begin to expand Alpoko outwards.
Save your progress and read your letters. However, do not accept the Giant Frog
quest just yet. Go to Kingdom Plan, Upgrade and buy the Guard Badge x3 for
600,000, allowing you to have up to eight guards with you! Also purchase the
Carpenter Hut. Save and Leave.
From now on, the days don't really matter. With your new goal, you'll be out
expanding the world at your own pace.
As you cross the bridge, you will be stopped by another odd fellow. He's
standing in the Cemetery asking if you believe in God. When he's done chatting,
go back to your throne and access the Kingdom Plan. Build the Soup Church for
44,000 Bol. You're probably quite low on money by now, so we'll work on getting
some more.
Go to the nearby river and head west (judging by the map) to find a large log.
Break it and head to the new area. If you didn't accept the Giant Frog quest
then you can walk in safely. If you did, don't go in.
There will some Escargoos and Yvonnes to get rid of. Then you can get to
digging those holes. One has a GOld Bar and the other a Bag of Coins. Back in
town, behind the cemetery, there will be a crack amongst some trees. Have a
farmer dig it up and you will find another Gold Bar. Don't forget to claim
taxes from the two houses with eight units in your Guard for 16,000 Bol.
You can cash your spoils in at the throne now. Purchase all the houses in
Castle Town if you can afford them, but leave at least 50,000 Bol spare for a
Carpenter. You can claim some money back from taxing these houses now. When
you're ready, go and get a Carpenter for 50,000 Bol.
Up near the Church and the moat, you will see a sign with a hammer. Send your
Carpenter on it to start building stairs. When construction walls come up,
send any farmers you have to go help. Don't send any soldiers!! When it's
complete, head up and dig the holes for two Gold Bars.
You can also send your Carpenter at the hammer sign by the river. This one will
take much longer to build, but send anyone to help when they can. This bridge
leads to the Onii Grounds, but don't head over just yet.
At night, behind the church, there will be a shining hole. Dig it up to uncover
your first ever item: the Skull staff! You should over to Liam to equip it to
a Soldier. You can now also access the Citizen's List. If you have 500,000,
you should also build the King's Pedestal, which allows you to call forth
citizens to the podium outside the castle!
Also at night, bring some Soldiers with you to King's Forest. You'll find some
OWLS and a Rodeo Cow. Deal with the OWLS first as the cow is asleep. The Rodeo
Cow is kind of like the Cow Bones, in that it will keep charging at you. Just
keep sending Soldiers at it and retreating when it charges. Easy. Dealing with
those enemies now will make sure they don't appear in that area at night again.
Since it's night time, go to sleep. The next morning, feel free to accept the
Giant Frog quest. If you have 1880,000 Bol with you, you should buy the
Calisthenics Edict, which gives each citizen an extra HP unit. Save with Verde.
Prepare a team of Soldiers and head to the area where the Yvonnes were.
Prepare for a difficult fight!
This big guy jumps from the river to greet you. He has four attacks. The first
involves jumping towards you. This has area damage so you'll obviously want to
stay as far away as possible. For his second attack, he shoots his tongue out
quickly, and if it grabs anyone, they die immediately. Vital you stay out of
the way of that one!
If your Soldiers are attacking him, he'll probably initiate his third attack,
which is to spit poison in the air, which then creates puddles of poison (which
you don't want to step on) and distort your vision for a few moments. You
probably shouldn't attack him while you can't see as he could be charging
another attack which you won't see until your Soldiers have lost health.
For the final attack, he jumps up in the air, off-screen, and comes back down a
short time later near or on your position. Like the first jump attack, this
will create an area damage. Just keep running around the arena and it should
miss you.
Defeating him is tough because he has lots of attacks. The poison one is
especially annoying because you can't see properly, and you have to watch where
you and your units run. The tongue is annoying as it can change the tide of
battle in an instant if it hits. And when you start attacking, he almost always
charges an attack, so you are constantly retreating.
Perservere, take a few resets to beat him if you need to, and try to have a
little patience. It is very hard to defeat this Guardian with a full army at
the end.
---------------
For defeating him, you get a Treasure, worth 3000,000 Bol (minus the cost of
deaths).
This is a little bonus. At about 9pm, you can go to the beach and visit Mr. M
under the umbrella. He plays a song called Beach Repose by Debussy. Cool.
With the Giant Frog defeated (with hopefully minimal deaths), you can now build
the Grassland Town. Available to buy is the Hunter Hut for 4500,000 Bol. This
unlocks the Animal Hunter job! You probably can't afford this yet, but you very
well can by heading into the new area, Mushroom Forest. The enemies are a bit
stronger than the Oniis, but the spoils are worth more. Spend a little time
killing the various enemies and digging the hole with a Farmer for a Bag of
Coins if you want to get some Archers right away (costing 100,000 Bol each).
They definitely help with the upcoming fight.
Now to head down to the Onii Grounds! Cross the bridge and meet the newest
enemy, the Onii! These guys are very easy but they do attack often so retreat
when needed. Kill all the Onii and destroy the various rocks. Dig up any holes
for some nice rewards. Be careful as two of the holes are trapped with Onii.
Just take them out before you resume digging again. There are a couple of Rodeo
Cows in the next area, so dispose of them too. If you have some Archers, you
can kill the Onii with a chest on his head for a Gold Bar.
When you reach the Carpenter's sign, build some stairs and prepare for your
next fight!
First thing's first, if you have Archers, get them to kill the two Oniis on the
platforms above, as they throw pots and rocks at you which can get annoying.
With them out of the way, it makes the rest of the battle easier.
You'll notice the Clubber is assisted by four Onii. Send a few Soldiers in at
a time and when the Clubber shoots steam, it's time to retreat. Slowly deal
with the Onii until they're all down. When they're down, you can dig the hole
nearby without much threat of getting hit as the Clubber really only stays in
one spot. You can always dig the hole later, but you might want to spend your
3000,000 Bol right after the battle.
Once the Onii are gone, it's just you and the Clubber. Send in your Archers
and have them use up the rest of their arrows. He should go down easily with
this method. Otherwise, just treat this guy like a normal UMA and attack and
retreat as needed with your Soldiers. He's extremely easy.
---------------
Once it's defeated, you'll have united the world, right? WRONG!! You get a
letter from the Onii King, challenging you to a fight!
---------------
[0305]
The Onii Kingdom
---------------
Today is the Spiked Club Festival! Everyone celebrates your victory by wearing
Onii horns! Talk to the townsfolk if you please. But there is one thing you
should do. Cross the bridge into what is now the Alpoko Farmlands. You are
stopped by by the Astronomer, Skinny Ray. He talks about the universe and what
not.
When you're ready, finish the festival.
When you wake up the next morning, Liam will inform you that he's put paintings
on the walls. You can change them at any time by pressing A when near one.
Speak to Howser on your throne and purchase the Guard Badge x4, allowing you
carry four more people in your Royal Guard. Awesome! If you can still afford
it, purchase the Lumberjack Hut for 3800,000 Bol for the Farmlands. They cost
150,000 Bol to employ.
If you haven't beaten the Giant Frog yet, now is a good time to do it. You
definitely need Archers for the fight with the Onii King. You can find the
strategy in the Bosses Section.
When you've purchased a Lumberjack, there's some new places you can go.
Firstly, head to King's Forest. Those two pathways are now accessible thanks to
the Lumberjack. In the bottom area, you'll find a shining hole. Start digging
and two Turnipheads will pop out. Kill them and resume digging. Again, you will
be ambushed, this time by 3 turnips. At the end lies a Gold Bar. Return here at
night and there will be a Rodeo Cow and another shining hole.
Along the other path, there's nothing there yet. You can find a break in the
trees that leads to a secret area, but there's nothing there yet either.
At this stage, you may have some people in your Royal Guard fall in love.
Throw your entire Royal Guard in the Church and you there may be some in love.
You can try more times to see if anyone else is in love. At this stage, I made
two couples. Marrying for the first time gets you a weapon which you should
equip with Liam. You also unlock the Carefree Child, but at this stage, it has
no purpose.

You can now take on the 'Ultimate Guardian'. It's the Blue Dragon. Accept the
new quest worth 5 stars. Despite the high rating, it's not a very difficult
fight.
Create a team of roughly equal Hunters and Hardened Soldiers. Use the cannon
to warp to Glamour Town and head on over to the Small Lot. Destroy the ice and
you will uncover a crevasse. Say yes to jumping and prepare yourself for...
This guy starts off asleep. You might be as surprised as I was to see this.
Anyway, only use your hardened grunts and jump on the big guy. In this phase,
you'll want to watch out for three attacks. He breathes ice and covers the
entire area surrounding himself. You'll want to move a fair distance back to
avoid getting Snowman status. The second attack sees the dragon whack himself
in the face with his tail. It's low range and is a one-hit kill if hits. It
will destroy most ice blocks created by his third attack. He simply roars and
ice blocks (stalactites?) will fall from the roof, covering a small area
surrounding the dragon. Just get some grunts to destroy the ones in front
(they're destroyed in one hit) and go back to hitting the dragon. When you see
steam, jump off. You don't need quick reflexes to avoid these attacks. Keep
beating him until he's down to 1/3 health left.
This is where the fun begins! He wakes up (any grunts beating him will take
damage) in a ruckus. Taking a few tries has made me realise that this fight is
randomised in one of two ways. The first is that he will mostly stomp around
(damaging anyone on or near him) and fly up into the air. Are you in Defense
Formation? He will blow ice surrounding you no matter where you are, and drop
ice blocks from the ceiling. You should run into the middle of the arena
(there's plenty of time) AND STAND COMPLETELY STILL!! It will be tempting to
run away but you will get hit every time if you do! When the ice has eased off
and the blocks fallen, you have a quick moment to escape the circle of doom
before the dragon drops from the roof right in the middle of the circle.
DO NOT MOVE IN TO ATTACK YET. The next attack is always the fatal tail swing,
which has a huge radius and will kill anyone caught in it immediately (like
the Marble Dragon). You should evacuate to the side of the room, then when
it's finished, attack all-out for the brief seconds before he most likely
repeats the process. He is also prone to charging every so often, but it's
easy to miss and can give you another chance to attack.
The second is that he may just charge at you most of the time (and will less
often use his fatal tail swing). The charge is easily avoided and gives you a
quick opportunity to send everyone (but specifically your Archers) at him. He
will occassionally use his tail swing. If you see steam, best to run away very
quickly as it's hard to tell which attack he'll use. Even less often, he'll
shake about which cues doing the ice+drop attack. He's only a little bit easier
to beat in this way, but the constant charging doesn't give you a lot of time
to get attacks in.
Parrotshake of Gamefaqs has advised that using only archers in the final phase
will cause the dragon to not fly up and use his breath attack. If you want to
the battle to take the second route I mentioned, only use Archers when the
Blue Dragon wakes up.
It's not hard to win either way without losing a unit. For winning, you will
earn 9000,000 Bol worth of Precious Treasure (assuming you don't lose any
units) which you can put towards development of your brand new Giga Grinder
hut! Congratulations! You have defeated the final guardian (and added another
entry into your UMA Book).
---------------
You can now start development on Miner's Town where you can purchase the Giga
Grinder for 7050,000 Bol and get eight more residents through the two houses.
Don't forget to purchase muscle beans to give to your citizens for another unit
of health (for 11050,000 Bol)!
While upgrading your Mega Carpenter/s in this hi-tech district, you can find
Art Piece No. 85 in a pot near the purple and pink blocks and another near the
Miner's Hut closest to the Giga Grinder (No. 30). You can also access a new
passageway which leads to the Ripe Kingdom battleground (and another which
opens later that gives access to the Eggan Ruins).
At this stage, you should probably have around 50 paintings and will notice a
new quest in your Suggestion Box titled 'Dealer's Confession'. He says to come
and meet him at his tent, where'll he outline his true agenda.
When you meet him, he will tell you that the prize-winning piece has escaped
its canvas! It's now your job to defeat The Swarm in order to return it to its
canvas.
Note you can do this quest at anytime after you have obtained 50 paintings.
Another Note: The Swarm applies to the European/Asian/Australian version of the
game, I haven't played the American so I don't know what the boss is for this
section. Apologies to any American readers.
This boss may seem daunting with just a one minute time limit and a lot of
foes to take down but it really is quite simple. All sections of the swarm
need to be flat on the floor simultaneously in order for you to win. If you
take too long to knock them all down, they will pop back up, by which stage
you'll probably run out of time.
There are 5 main parts to attack. You should first go for the Swarm which
surrounds the battlefield in a semi-circle formation (blocked mostly by a
fence). Hitting the first one will topple them all over, taking roughly twenty
or so seconds overall.
Quickly head to the large group clockwise from where you hit the last. Hit the
sketch in front to knock the group over.
Finally, without waiting to see what happens, hit the three single sketches
hanging about in the centre of the arena.
Hopefully by the time the last one is down, the sketches around the side will
all be down and you should win the fight with 25 - 35 seconds left. For
winning, you will obtain Art Piece No. 1!
Your Warriors may take damage when they attack The Swarm, but not to worry;
when you finish the battle, you can just go and heal at the nearby hot spring.

The Worrywart Kingdom
---------------
---------------
[0312]
The Worrywart Kingdom Aftermath
---------------
There will be yet another vote about a recently fallen star and you again have
no control over the outcome. After court is finished, feel free to journey
around the festival, but there is nothing of great interest (ie no cutscenes).
You can access some new quests. Feel free to accept any that sound appealing.
The one you should accept however, is God UFO.
Having accepted it, the most important order of business is to meet Shizuka on
the Castle Bridge. If you visit her in the manor, she will mutter something
about meeting late at night. Set your alarm for 10 (pm) and have a rest. Go
outside and meet Shizuka on the Bridge. She will speak something awfully
strange about the Diamond Egg and then you will see a UFO flying off in the
distance. Strange.
Go and rest twice so it's 10pm of the next day and meet Shizuka in the same
spot again. She ponders the Diamond Egg once again and this time the UFO
flies overhead. Rest twice and meet her again.
Once again her words will ring awfully strange, but then you receive the
Diamond Egg Shell! This is the third part of the Flying Machine, and you also
complete the God UFO quest! Your reward this time will be Mayonnaise (that may
add another entry into your Gourmet Book)! Then, in an even stranger turn of
events, she is abducted!!!! What?! Oh well...
Check your Suggestion Box the next morning and you will have received a message
from Shizuka titled 'Life...Of Animals' rated one star. Accept it and check out
Princess Manor. What one Earth? Shizuka is back. She will tell you that
something terrible happened - the animals of the kingdom have been abducted!
It's your job to fill out yet another book by finding all the animals. For
completing this mission, you earn an Egg Dish.
Eggan appears in your town at about this point. Stick him in your Royal Guard
for now. You'll also want a Carefree Child, a Cook, a Carpenter and a Farmer.
Now to get some of those UFOs. There is a UFO in King's Forest. Depleting its
health bar (it doesn't fight you) returns the bear cub! Cute. Another UFO in
the Onii Grounds returns to you the piglet! The UFO in the Onii King's Lair
returns the cat! If you head along Sunflower Plains from Dark Valley, you will
inevitably reach another UFO which returns the chick! There's another UFO in
the Melon Patch which gives the Squirrel back! Yet another can be found near
the Cafeteria, which returns the cow! Where you fought the Marble Dragon,
there's another UFO which relinquishes the chicken! Phew, that's 7 so far.
Before heading into the Nature Maze (the maze before Omelet), you will find
Wonder Board No. 6. Inside the Nature Maze , kill the Concodore near the end
with a Cook and have Eggen clear away the egg it was covering to reveal a
shining hole. It contains another Art Piece. Be careful about the egg on the
corner near the Concodore as it hides an enemy Eggan which will attack
(although it's not that hard to defeat).
Head into the Eggan Ruins to discover another Wonder Board No. 14 and another
fallen UFO. You will receive the Raccoon, making that 8 animals. Also, under
one of the eggs in the alcoves, you will discover Art piece No. 54. You can
chat to Omelet, but he just says strange things.
Back in Skull Plains, where the Onii shot fire at you earlier on, you will find
another fallen UFO. It returns the dog! Yay! Continue along that long path way
until you reach the end. There will be a very large hole. Start digging at it.
At about 1/3 the way through, a small dragon will appear. At this stage, it
should be quite easy to defeat if you have some archers and warriors. 2/3
through, another small dragon will appear. In the last eigth, TWO small dragons
will appear. They are a bit tougher to take on, but just leave lots of space
and try and focus on one at a time. The hole contains Underwear, of all things.
Destroy the nearby pots (one contains Art Piece No. 52). You'll notice there's
a blue tree to be climbed. Send a child on up for Art piece No. 93.
You can find the final available UFO behind the Skull Lake area of Skull
Plains. This UFO gives up the sparrow.
Aside from the above, clear away the giant egg piece near the cannon for a
Shining Egg. There will be a new bridge available to build near the giant egg,
which is a handy shortcut back to the Boney Tunnel.
You might also want to stick your entire Guard into the church to see who can
get married. I had a party of 23, and by the time I'd done all the marriages,
I had 3 units left. That's 10 marriages, and 10 more citizens (bringing my
total up to 137)!

This section should simply be used as a quick-reference guide if you're having
trouble with a particular boss. The information here will be no different from
in the guide.
Its final attack is to throw its head forward, around the edge of the area and
then back. When the head is off, you can attack the cow very quickly, but you
won't have much time. The skull will do damage if it hits anyone. It may throw
the skull twice so be careful and keep moving.
Keep hitting in it when you have time and it should go down rather quickly and
without too much hassle.
This big guy jumps from the river to greet you. He has four attacks. The first
involves jumping towards you. This has area damage so you'll obviously want to
stay as far away as possible. For his second attack, he shoots his tongue out
quickly, and if it grabs anyway, they die immediately. Vital you stay out of
the way for that one!
It is very hard to defeat this Guardian with a full army at
the end.

Owl Hag
---------------
Rating: *
This is a surprisingly easy battle. The only danger this boss poses is its
ability to call small owls to attack. A good Guard to bring is probably 3/4
warriors and 1/4 archers.
You should first destroy all the tiki statues throughout the arena, as the hag
stands on top of these to avoid being attacked. She's constantly teleporting
around the arena and standing atop these statues. When a statue goes down, she
will stand on the ground where it once stood, and you can attack her. When she
summons owls however, she will teleport to her perch above the arena and you
can't attack her up there.
Continue destroying the statues and damaging her when she's on the ground, and
neither she nor her owls will cause you too much hassle.

Contrary to the four star rating the mission description gives you, this
battle is incredibly easy! Make sure you have a team of Archers, and head to
the Town Square at 10pm.
You have two minutes to defeat the boss. Get all your Archers to attack the
UFO, and retreat them when you see it charging its tractor beam. Just keep
running away from it until it ceases the attack.
It will also periodically drop undead cows. They don't pose much threat, but
it's best to take them out. This is made much easier by the fact that they
only have one health.
Keep attacking the UFO and it will go down without too much hassle. Just be
warned that even though you get rid of all its health, it takes quite a few
more seconds for it to actually go down and stops the timer.

Blue Dragon
---------------
Rating: ***

The Swarm
---------------
Rating: *
This boss may seem daunting with just a one minute time limit and a lot of
foes to take down but it really is quite simple. All sections of the swarm
need to be flat on the floor at one stage in order for you to win. If you take
too long to knock them all down, they will pop back up, by which stage you'll
probably run out of time.
There are 5 main parts to attack. You should first go for the Swarm which
surrounds the battlefield in a semi-circle formation (blocked mostly by a
fence). Hitting the first one will topple them all over, taking roughly quickly
or so seconds overall.
Your Warriors may take damage when they attack The Swarm, but not to worry;
when you finish the battle, you can just go and heal at the nearby hot spring.
