I dedicate this one to Trace Jackson for his love of Kirby. You are the
master blaster of disaster (even in 2007!), and I look forward to future FAQ
projects together! You are a good author, so stop pretending the facts say
otherwise (again, this still applies, even in 2007!).
Also, for Cougar, Howler, Koonce, and Gracey. I miss you, and I hope you
are living it up in the afterlife as you did in this world. You will always
be in my memories, and you will never be forgotten.

1) The following stories are taken directly from the instruction manual, and
is in no way the property of or the work of Brian P. Sulpher.
Kirby to the Rescue!
On a tiny star somewhere far, far away from earth, there is a very special
place known as Dream Land. The Dream Landers are very happy people who use
their magical sparkling stars to play and work among the heavens. That is
until one night when the gluttonous King Dedede and his rotten band of
thieves swooped down from neighbouring Mt. Dedede for a midnight snack in
Dream Land. Not only did they steal all their food, but they stole the Dream
Landers' treasured Sparkling Stars as well.
Because the Dream Landers didn't have the Sparkling Stars to gather food
anymore, they began to get very hungry. Suddenly a spry little boy named
Kirby happened to come along and say, "Don't worry, I'll get your food and
your Sparkling Stars back!" With these words, Kirby set off on his quest
toward the dreaded Mt. DeDeDe. We wish him luck!
So, not exactly Shakespeare, but it serves the purpose that this small
yet oh so fun game needs. Kirby has become something of an icon to many
gamers, yet this is where he had his very humble beginnings. Why not
read up on him in his first adventure, going all out to find every single
secret that the game has to offer?

-----------------------------------Controls---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) This section will look at the basic controls as well as advanced
techniques.
o----------------o
Basic Controls
o----------------o
D-Pad : LEFT and RIGHT will move Kirby in the corresponding direction
pressed. DOWN will cause Kirby to duck. UP will cause Kirby to
take in air, allowing him to fly into the air.
SELECT : No apparent use.
START : Pauses/unpauses the game.
B Button: Kirby will inhale with his hoover like abilities.
A Button: Kirby will hop into the air.
o---------------------o
Advanced Techniques
o---------------------o
Diving Attack......: When Kirby enters into a free fall with nothing in his
mouth and he passes a distance that is higher than the
maximum his jump can reach, he will lower his face
downward. If he collides with an enemy, this will kill
the enemy instead of damaging him (provided touching
said enemy is not harmful to Kirby).
Flying Puff Attack.: After taking air by pressing UP, Kirby can spit out an
air puff to hurt enemies by pressing the B Button.
Swallowing An Enemy: Once Kirby has an enemy in his mouth (from the B Button
suction maneuver), press DOWN to swallow the enemy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------Normal Game Walkthrough---------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) This section will cover the Normal Game of game play. It will cover the
areas of Dream Land named Green Greens, Castle LoLoLo, Float Islands,
Bubbly Clouds, and Mt. DeDeDe in detail, looking at alternate paths and
bonuses that exist as well.

So, we learn from the opening scene that butterflies should not be messed
with, or else they shall rise up and crush us all beneath their delicate
insect legs! Anyway, Kirby will drop to the ground, moving to the right to
face off with two Waddle Dees, which are closely followed by another Waddle
Dee and two Twizzies. The next obstacles are a Bronto Burt and a Waddle
Dee, who are guarding a giant wall, so fly up over the top, dropping down to
land on the Cappy below (killing it with a big faceplant). As two Bronto
Burts fly overhead, a doorway will appear, offering an opportunity to snag
two Pep Brews (if they are needed), followed by facing off with a Cappy, a
jump over a gap, and a Twizzy. Waddle Dee and Bronto Burt will combo attack
next, followed in line by a Poppy Bros. Jr. and then a trio made up of
Twizzy, Waddle Dee, and a Bronto Burt. This just leaves one final Bronto
Burt and a Twizzy to bypass, reaching a Warp Star, which will whisk Kirby
off to the Mini-Boss of the area!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Poppy Bros. Sr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This pyrotechnic using psychopath will attack Kirby by lobbing bombs in his
direction, looking to make Kirby a roasted marshmallow (without the need for
a bonfire), and he will also occasionally bound back and forth across the
screen (though he will always end up on the right side of the battle area).
To take on this rather simple enemy, stand near the cloud closest to the
ground, waiting for the hopping clown to lob a Bomb at Kirby. When it is
inhaled, let it fly back to hit the foe, knocking one portion of his life
meter away. Now, he will either continue the same pattern (hop on the right
side of the screen, lobbing a Bomb), in which case it is a simple matter to
drill him with another Bomb of his own making, or he will hop back and forth
across the screen, in which case Kirby should stand just to the left of the
same cloud he is at, letting Poppy bound around. Three hits will end the
brief reign of Poppy Bros. Sr. as your focal point in your life, so feel
free to heave a sigh of... pity (as he was not really that tough).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Poppy Bros. Sr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, back to the business at hand. Poppy Bros. Jr. (no doubt distraught
at the defeat of his... Brother? Father? Uncle?) will roll onto the scene
on an apple, followed by Bronto Burts, a Cappy, and a Waddle Dee. More
Bronto Burts will follow, as will a Waddle Dee, a Grizzo, and a combo attack
by two Twizzies and a Poppy Bros. Jr. playing at being a seal on his apple.
Bronto Burts continue to fly in large groups, with a Cappy, a Waddle Dee,
Twizzies, and more Poppy Bros. Jr. and Grizzos (one Poppy Bros. Jr. is on to
something, trading in his apple ride for a Grizzo... smart move). The
aerial attacks from Twizzies and Bronto Burts continue to come, while Cappies
and Grizzo riding Poppy Bros. Jr. are the land defense between Kirby and the
door he needs to enter.
A capless Cappy is to the left of the entrance (does that make him only half
the enemy he used to be? Yeah that one sucked...), but head right and leap
and/or fly up through the next two areas, going past the two Grizzos. More
capless Cappies and a Twizzy will guard the way upwards, though once past
them look to the left to see a maxim Tomato behind a Star Block wall. Fly
upwards to find two Waddle Dees and a Twizzy guarding a door. There also
happen to be Star Blocks to both sides of the tree trunk that is being
scaled, but they lead to nowhere, so ignore them and just pass through the
door to reach the BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Whispy Woods ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fall down through the two openings to land beside a tree with a mug that
only a mother could love (though I suppose for a tree he does all right for
himself). Anyway, this tree attacks through two main methods, the first of
which is to spit out air puffs in a set of two, a set of four air puffs
(only immediately following a two set air puff attack), and he will drop a
set of three apples from his branches, one after the other. To start off
each round of the fight (ie when Kirby first enters or after he scores some
hits), stand Kirby right beside the tree, waiting to see what will occur.
Once the tree starts to drop apples, inhale each one and let it fly at the
Whispy one (just turn and fire, no need to aim for the ugly mug). After
this it is just a simple matter of repeating the pattern, making the tree
cry like Nancy Kerrigan, gaining access to the Sparkling Star it had in its
very own possession!
Sneezing is bad for you... if you have loose stars hung on the background
above your head. Right. So the first screen is pretty easy, with just a
single Broom Hatter playing around on the parapets above, but ignore and
just pass through the door ahead. In this room is a Microphone, so touch it
and use it to decimate the Waddle Dees, Waddle Doo, and Bronto Burts,
followed by either going up to find a door (guarded by a Shotzo) that holds
two Boolers and two Pep Brews, but to continue head through the door just to
the right of the Microphone. Suck in the Flapper and Booler, followed by
using the Bomb to clear away the next Booler and Mad hatter, watching out
for another Flapper from the ceiling while going through the door.
In this room, the paths will diverge, so choose Route One for the more
direct Route, while Route two will take Kirby past some foes and grabbing a
fairly unique Item.
===========
Route One
===========
Simply head right past the Two Face (inhale it once it turns around),
followed by passing through the door that lies nearby.
===========
Route Two
===========
Go right and inhale the Two Face, followed by going down the two flights of
stairs. Turn left to fight with two Chuckies to gain access to the door in
between their positions. Bronto Burt, Gordo, and Glunks greet Kirby,
looking below the Gordo for a Pep Brew (if needed) while moving through the
room, dealing with more Glunks and another Gordo, reaching a door. Fly up
to the Candy, grabbing it to become invulnerable, flying up through the
Bronto Burts to pass through the door.
Run right at top speed through this area, sticking to the ground to pass
underneath the Mumbies and Boolers, flying up over the wall, dropping down
to grab the Warp Star, which will whisk Kirby away to the Mini-Boss!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
LoLoLo looks AWFULLY familiar to another HAL creation... if I recall
correctly... nah forget it. Anyhow, LoLoLo will attack by pushing a block
out of one of the four holes in the wall on the right side of the screen,
stopping, and then throwing it horizontally across the rest of the screen.
To beat this odd roundball (like Kirby can throw any rocks from his odd
roundball home), simply inhale the Emerald Framer (oops! Gave it away who
he is referencing!) and spit it back at him to damage him. Do this three
times and he will be defeated, allowing Kirby to move into the next area.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a few seconds Kirby will appear in a new room, where Star Blocks are
the only thing in sight, despite some blocks for Chuckies. Although the
door forward is on the right side of the room, a door also sits at the top
of the room, beckoning Kirby to enter, finding two Boolers guarding a Pep
Brew and some Spicy Food, which is great cause Kirby will need to
exterminate the Boolers and Mumbies that circle ever closer around Kirby
when he goes back out the door. Once done in this area, Kirby will find
himself at war with Broom Hatters and Flappers, reaching the door that lies
up the stairs ahead.
This vertical room boasts various surprises, with Broom hatters, Flappers,
and Gordos guarding various doors and prizes, but the walkthrough will only
cover the areas of interest (not the dead end doors). A Pep Brew is in the
room above Kirby when he enters (bust the Star Block to find it), followed
by flying upwards through the moving Gordos while ignoring the doors on the
left, going to the one in the top-right corner of the room instead to move
onwards. A Booler and two Waddle Dees will come after Kirby immediately,
followed by Flappers and a Broom Hatter when he reaches the door, which will
lead Kirby to the BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo & LaLaLa ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well now, you beat him senseless before, so this fallen "hero" has run off
to get his girlfriend to save his butt. This guy has no scruples whatsoever,
but his puzzle games rule, so I can live with his alter ego of evil, just
this once. Right, this fight will see odd at first as most people will just
suck in the Emerald Framer, throw it at the enemy that it was removed from,
and let the enemy hit them as they get trapped in a corner. Well now, there
are two better strategies to utilize here, the first of which is to let the
enemy pass by on a lower level or higher level, followed by leaping/dropping
to a position right behind the foe, inhaling the Emerald Framer and spitting
it back at the foe. The second strategy is to be on the same level as a
charging foe, inhaling the Emerald Framer and then drop or jump to a safe
level to let the enemy pass, followed by dropping down to cram the block
into their backsides. After three hits an enemy will be downed, with the
victory and possession of the Sparkling Star being Kirby's with both foes
vanquished!

Float Islands
o---------------o
This cut scene tells us something very important... fish hooking is only
funny in the movie Wayne's World. Well, Kirby being a greedy, unstoppable,
killing machine getting a negative reward is pretty damn funny too now that
I think about it. Starting off here is a Squishy and two Bronto Burts,
followed by another Squishy and a Wizzer, leading to a Bomb that can clean
out the Waddle Dees ahead. Fly across the water (dodging the Blippers),
going over the Waddle Doo, bypassing a Shotzo barrage from the waterline,
facing one more Bronto Burt to reach the ground. Here a Coner, a Bronto
Burt, and a Squishy inhabit the small island, but right after that is
another long flight over the water where Squishies attempt an ambush,
followed by another water bound Shotzo trying to pick Kirby off as he lands
near a Microphone. Bronto Burt, Waddle Dee, Waddle Doo, four Coconuts, and
three Coners will now attack in a long chain, forcing Kirby to battle into
the doorway ahead.
A Kabu attacks off the start here, so eat him and drop down to find a second
Kabu (DO NOT attempt to swallow him or Kirby will fall through the floor
into the spike trap below), with a Pep brew hidden on the left behind the
Star Blocks while the path right leads to a long flight up a vertical shaft
(hang to the right on the way up, as this path avoids the falling Coconut).
Three Kabus are in the next area, and if Kirby hops the small hole and sucks
in the Star Blocks on the right, a hidden door will be revealed, the
entering of said door will lead to a long dive down to find a 1-Up, followed
by a door that leads to the previous Kabu infested area. Now fall down the
hole on the left, faceplanting onto yet another Kabu, so fly to the right
and Air Puff through the Star Block wall, allowing Kirby to fly on through,
killing a Coner while clearing more Star Blocks. The upper path holds a
Maxim Tomato for those willing to brave a Squishy and a Kabu, but to advance
further into the level, fall down and go through the Star Blocks on the left
to locate the door forward.
Fly over the water (go high to avoid the overly aggressive Blippers),
locating Spicy Food and a Squishy, closely followed by a Shotzo to leap
over. Squishies, Bronto Burts, Blippers, and Squishies will now attack in
a non-stop, rapid manner, but keep an eye out for a small platform that has
a black square inside of it, busting the Star Block to gain access to the
hidden door, which holds a Pep Brew and a 1-Up! A Squishy and a Kabu guard
a large wall which has a Shotzo on the far side of it, followed by one
Coner, who happens to be the last guard before the next door (though a
Shotzo does put on an impressive fireworks display on the right side of the
area). Once inside the door, grab the nearby Warp Star to fly with reckless
abandon, landing in a... whale's BLOWHOLE!? Okay, Kirby seriously needs to
work on his flying, his aim, and his common sense, as this is plain
unacceptable. When Kirby lands, go to the right and bypass the Kabus and
Coner, locating a special Mint Leaf (it never expires) to trigger the BOSS
FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kaboola ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaboola can attack with a myriad of vollies, using three straight shots
in a row, a three shot spread attack, and he can also spin rapidly briefly,
followed by shooting across the screen to bound right into Kirby. Although
the foe has 8 life bars, each life bar requires 5 hits to drain one away,
meaning that the foe requires a whopping 40 hits to be subdued! Start off
by flying to the middle of the screen, firing non-stop, matching the height
of Kaboola until he reaches the right side of the screen, at which point
Kirby should drop back a bit to give him more reaction time for the coming
attacks. Now Kirby will continue to shoot Air Puffs at the flying
monstrosity, his goal is to keep dodging the cannon shots from the mounted
Shotzo, watching for the spinning charge attack (try to move as soon as
Kaboola tips off his area of attack). Keep up the attack (which comes down
to pounding the B Button and quick reflexes to avoid the shots and charges)
to take him down, and the third Sparkling Star will be Kirby's!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kaboola ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
o---------------o
Bubbly Clouds
o---------------o
So... Uhhh... This cut scene tells us... that Kirby + Cloud = lots of
Kirby offspring? Wow, just wow. This seems almost dirty of such a cutesy
game such as this. Right off the bat Kirby will go right to see a Gordo and
a falling Dizzy, so fly across the gap and go under the various foes by
flying to the large cloud ahead, facing a Bronto Burt before crossing the
next gap to find a Waddle Dee and a Dizzy. A flock of Scarfies will now
accost Kirby, so air puff them to death before facing a trio of Kooklers
over a wide gap, flying across to find Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos
parachuting in via umbrellas, so take them out as Kirby advances. The last
gasp for the enemies in this area are a formation of Dizzies from below and
Bronto Burts from the front, though they are easily avoided by running
forward and inhaling the lower Bronto Burt, passing through the door to the
next area.
Sir Kibbles will attack to start off this area, so inhale them before they
can throw their cutter blade, followed by taking on the Waddle Doos, opening
the way for Kirby to fly between the spikes. Avoid the next Sir Kibble,
emerging to the outside to face two aggressive Puffies, who by a fleet of
Bronto Burts and two Scarfies. Two Waddle Dees and two Bronto Burts will
be on the remaining portion of the platform, followed by a short flight over
the gap ahead to go above the final Sir Kibble, dropping down to pass
through the door.
Waddle Dee, Kooklers, and a Dizzy will attack early on in this area (the
Dizzy will not just fly of like before, as he is kept in place by the
clouds), followed by facing a Waddle Dee and a Kookler, which is the point
that the paths diverge. Route One is the direct route to the Mini-Boss,
while Route two will garner a couple bonuses but require more enemies to be
faced while en route to the Mini-Boss.
===========
Route One
===========
Fly up and to the right, facing a Gordo, a Dizzy, a Scarfy, and then a Sir
Kibble , locating a door to the Mini-Boss.
===========
Route Two
===========
Fly up to the left, taking out a Kookler to pass over a pond, running into a
dead-end. When Kirby stands against the different coloured patch of sky,
press UP to pass through a hidden door! Grab the Mint leaf and fly to the
right, locating a Pep brew, followed by firing off shots to destroy enemies
while keeping about the same elevation, coming across a second podium (which
holds a Maxim Tomato) and then drop down a tad to find a third podium (which
holds a 1-Up), followed by going up through the nearby door to find the
Mini-Boss!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko Jr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kracko Jr. has three modes of attacks, which has a set pattern for order of
said attacks. He starts off by firing off four bullets in a spread pattern,
followed by him diving down at Kirby, retreating back to the top corner to
drop a Waddle Doo as he does a brief dip. This is all he will ever do in
the fight, meaning that he is simple as pie to defeat. Start off by
retreating to the bottom left corner, letting the bullets and the body of
Kracko Jr. go flying on by, followed by moving to the middle of the screen,
waiting for the drop of the Waddle Dee for Kirby to inhale, spitting it back
at the baddie to damage him. Repeat the pattern twice more, landing the
third hit to make Kracko Jr. take flight, revealing a Warp Star for Kirby to
snag to go for a ride!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko Jr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fall to the left to find a Mint Leaf, using it on the right side to find a
mass of Star Blocks to shoot through, so take the lowest path possible,
which will take Kirby through a Maxim Tomato while dodging all the obstacles
in the area. Fly up and deal with the Waddle Dees in the confined space,
followed by going down and right to locate a passage going upwards, flying
up to find a lone Scarfy protecting the door to the next area. This area
has Spicy Food , so grab it, using it to blaze a trail through the Star
Blocks, making sure to fly over the gaps in the floor that appear,
eventually emerging from the long and narrow corridor to find yet another
door to pass through.
Fly upwards with great care, bypassing the Sir Kibble, a Puffy, Bronto
Burts, and Waddle Dees/Waddle Doos with great care, reaching a ledge with a
door. However, before going through the portal, take a quick detour towards
the crescent moon above, pressing UP to pass through the secret portal that
it represents. In this room, freefall and look for two 1-ups and three
Maxim Tomatoes to choose from (first set is just a Maxim Tomato, the second
set has the 1-Up on the left and Maxim Tomato on the right, the third set
has the Maxim Tomato on the left and the 1-Up on the right), but if you
press UP at anytime, the Items will be unreachable as the fall needs to be
continuous. Once the bottom is reached, go through the door to get into the
BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
This overblown cloud with the cycloptic complexion will attack by various
methods, including: diving in a wide arc, throwing out a Waddle Doo, and
using a beam attack. Kirby should stand near the middle of the room, shying
slightly to the side the that Kracko does not occupy (ie he is on left, you
are a bit off center to the right), jumping him if he dives, standing still
if he uses a beam attack, and suck in the Waddle Doo when dropped, using it
as a weapon against Kracko. "Crack" the foe six times (hehe... CRACK HIM!)
to break apart the approaching storm front, releasing the fourth Sparkling
Star so Kirby can go after King DeDeDe's Sparkling Star!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
o------------o
Mt. DeDeDe
o------------o
After crashing right into a whale's blowhole in stage three, you think Kirby
would fly with more care than he did before, but alas the pink puffball
proves he should have never been granted that license, as he proceeds to
BRUTALLY wreck his Warp Star by hitting the roof, followed by flying through
the air for a few seconds before skidding for several hundred feet of entry
hallway ON HIS FACE! Let this be a lesson to you kiddies, always where your
seat belt when riding on the Warp Star, okay?
Right, so Kirby comes to his feet in a room with four doorways, each adorned
with a picture of the bosses from each area (Green Greens, Castle LoLoLo,
Float Islands, and Bubbly Clouds), so this portion of the game gives choice
on which order to proceed, though all four areas must be conquered to
advance. Although any order can be taken, I will cover them in the same
order that Kirby took through the game.

Take on a Cappy and a Grizzo, followed by flying past Twizzy and under the

opening the door to Whispy Woods!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Whispy Woods ~~~~

Fall down through the two openings to land beside a tree with a mug that
only a mother could love (though I suppose for a tree he does all right for
himself). Anyway, this tree attacks through two main methods, the first of
which is to spit out air puffs in a set of two, a set of four air puffs
(only immediately following a two set air puff attack), and he will drop a
set of three apples from his branches, one after the other. To start off
each round of the fight (ie when Kirby first enters or after he scores some
hits), stand Kirby right beside the tree, waiting to see what will occur.
Once the tree starts to drop apples, inhale each one and let it fly at the
Wispy one (just turn and fire, no need to aim for the ugly mug). After this
it is just a simple matter of repeating the pattern, making the tree cry
like Nancy Kerrigan, taking the victory!

===================
Fly upwards to trigger the Two Face into attacking, killing him before
flying off to the right, sticking to the top of the area to avoid all foes,
only dropping down to touch the Kirby on the ledge, removing Gordo from the
door to allow the real Kirby to go after the boss.

Float Islands
===================
Run underneath the coconut, kill the Squishy, and then bypass the Wizzer,
locating a hole to drop down into, locating a cave. Deal with the Kabu and
the Coner, followed by deftly flying through the spikes to find the Gordo
in the door, going past him to hit the dancing Kirby. Head right past the
Coner and the Kabus, touching the Mint Leaf to start the fight with the
boss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kaboola ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaboola can attack with a myriad of vollies, using three straight shots
to pounding the B Button and quick reflexes to avoid the shots and charges)
to take him down!
===================
Bubbly Clouds
===================
Although there are many foes in this area, the way to dive and avoid all
foes is as follows. Dive off to the left of the podium Kirby begins on,
waiting until the Puffy flies to the right, followed by moving Kirby into
the center of the podium, watching on the right for a Sir Kibble on a
different podium. As soon as the Sir Kibble is in the past, move to the
right slightly, falling face first into a puffed up Kirby, which will kill
all the foes and remove Gordo from the door, allowing Kirby to go after the
boss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
This overblown cloud with the cycloptic complexion will attack by various
methods, including: diving in a wide arc, throwing out a Waddle Doo, and
using a beam attack. Kirby should stand near the middle of the room, shying

are a bit off center to the right), jumping him if he dives, standing still
if he uses a beam attack, and suck in the Waddle Doo when dropped, using it
as a weapon against Kracko. "Crack" the foe six times (hehe... CRACK HIM!)
to break apart the approaching storm front, defeating the monster once more!
With this out of the way, all four doors will now be closed, allowing Kirby
to fly straight upwards into the portrait of King DeDeDe, which will whisk
Kirby away to the BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ King DeDeDe ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
King DeDeDe is the final battle in the game, and where else should the two
settle their differences than in a wrestling ring? I can imagine the
pre-match preamble now... LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING KIRBY! I AM GOING TO
SUCK YOU IN AND SPIT YOU OUT BROTHER! WHAT YA GOING TO DO, WHEN KING DEDEDE
STEALS ALL YOUR FOOD AND RUNS WILD ON YOU!? Okay, maybe that is more like
if Hulk Hogan stole the food from Dream Land, but you get the point.
King DeDeDe has a myriad of attacks to utilize, whether it is charging
and attempting to inhale Kirby (much like he has done to the minions of
DeDeDe for the entire game), swinging a hammer (if Kirby is on the ground or
in the air), jumping through the air to try and land on Kirby, and he will
charge at Kirby and trip... yeah, that one makes him look far less
impressive than the rest of the attacks. When he charges at Kirby, it is
best to inflate and fly over the top of him, landing behind him to draw his
attention in a new direction, looking for DeDeDe to perform one of two
attacks than can create stars for Kirby to inhale. When DeDeDe swings his
hammer, a star is created, so inhale it and send it back into the beast to
damage him. The other attack is when DeDeDe leaps high into the air,
crashing to the ground to create two stars (one on each side), so inhale one
of them and smoke him to damage him. Hit him ten times while dodging his
attacks, getting stars whenever possible (if Kirby is in a bad position to
try and get a star, it is best to not bother and not risk his life meter),
and Kirby will get the fifth and final Sparkling Star, sending the King
flying off into space, allowing Kirby to return the food to the hungry people
of Dream Land!
With that out of the way, enjoy the ending and the kick ass credit music,
but another adventure awaits those who enter in the code for the Extra Game!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------Extra Game Walkthrough---------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) This section will cover the Extra Game of gameplay (see the Codes &
Secrets section for how to access this portion of the game). It will
cover the areas of Dream Land named Green Greens, Castle LoLoLo, Float
Islands, Bubbly Clouds, and Mt. DeDeDe in detail, looking at alternate
paths and bonuses that exist as well.
o--------------o
Green Greens
o--------------o
Alright, I am not going to comment on the mini scenes anymore (they are the
exact same as before), but I will comment on how much more insanely tough
the Extra Game happens to be. You likely beat the easy as sin Normal Game
and thought "Extra Game, huh? Well I am going to kick it's ass as well!".
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is going to be a very humbling
experience at first, as it will punish severely those who rush and those who
ignored most foes the first time around. In this mode methodical approaches
and entire enemy sweeps are definitely the best way to go about things as a
general rule.
Now that the lecture is done (and immediately ignored), Kirby will head
right to face two hopping Waddle Dees, followed by an additional Waddle Dee
with two Tookies flying around. Next are a Waddle Dee and Koozer combo that
guard a wall to be flown over, so puff up and go down the other side, using
the air puff upon the Blopper that is throwing off icing like it is white
after Labour Day (lame reference... I know). Inside the next door are two
Pep brews (which you will likely need to refill some of your harshly treated
vitality meter), but watch out upon exiting as the Koozers and Bloppers will
come from both sides, so focus on the right, wary of the diving Koozers as
the biggest threat. Jump the gap ahead and kill the Tookey, the Waddle Dee,
and Koozer, allowing Kirby to face off with Poppy Bros. Jr. (for a brief
break) before the next Blopper. Let the first Tookey fly by while dealing
with the Waddle Dee, then crank the next Tookey, which leaves one diving
Koozer to hammer before jumping onto the Warp Star, riding it into the first
Mini-Boss fight!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Poppy Bros. Sr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This pyrotechnic using psychopath will attack Kirby by lobbing bombs in his
direction, looking to make himself a roasted marshmallow (without the need
for a bonfire), and he will also occasionally shoot across the screen and
then return to the right side of the screen in a mere two seconds. However,
this time he appears to have snorted a long line of cocaine or taken some
uppers, as he moves at double speed as well as throwing more Bombs in a
hurry, which is further complicated by his ability to charge across the
screen without warning, but if you feel he is going to charge, puff up and
fly straight up to avoid the incoming charge. Keep on sucking in Bombs and
returning them at the old pyromaniac as fast as possible (though he can
block them with new bombs) to land three hits, putting an end to this
threatening firebug.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Poppy Bros. Sr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Head right to find a Poppy Bros. Jr. rolling an apple instead of eating it
(proving that an apple a day does not keep Kirby away), followed closely by
a Koozer and an icing hucking Blopper. a dive bombing Koozer and a Waddle
Dee are next up on the hump, followed by a Waddle Dee, a Grizzo, and two
Koozers (the second is very aggressive), leading to a dual attack of Tookies
(again, the second is very aggressive). After dealing with a Poppy Bros.
Jr. on an apple, two attacking Koozers will try to protect an icingless
Blopper, leading to another small hump to cross, facing a Koozer, Poppy
Bros. Jr. and a Tookey that floats by harmlessly high above. Another Poppy
Bros. Jr. attacks next (though his use of a Grizzo as a sweet ride is far
better than his produce using kin), leading to a diving Koozer, a Blopper,
another set of Koozer and Blopper, and one last Poppy Bros. Jr. on a Grizzo,
who happen to be the last line of defense by the door ahead.
The capless Cappies return in here, though they are now bounding around in
an attempt to ram Kirby, but ignore him and go right to go up and deal with
the two Grizzos, followed by flying up past the next Cappy (when the way is
clear) to kill the Tookey above with an air puff. After that obstruction is
gone, look to the left side of the tree, locating a Maxim Tomato behind some
Star Blocks, at which point Kirby should resume his climb, facing off with
two Waddle Dees and a Tookey, passing through the door that they were
guarding to enter into the BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Whispy Woods ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fall down through the two openings to land beside a tree with a mug that
only a mother could love (though I suppose for a tree he does all right for
himself). Anyway, this tree attacks through two main methods, the first of
which is to spit out air puffs in a set of two, a set of four air puffs
(only immediately following a two set air puff attack), and he will drop a
set of three apples/Gordos from his branches (the numbers of each are random
so it could be all Gordos, all apples, or any mix in between), one after the
other. To start off each round of the fight (ie when Kirby first enters or
after he scores some hits), stand Kirby right beside the tree, waiting to
see what will occur. Once the tree starts to drop apples/Gordos, inhale the
apples and let them fly at the Whispy one (just turn and fire, no need to
aim for the ugly mug), though common sense dictates that the Gordos must be
avoided at all costs. After this it is just a simple matter of repeating
the pattern, making the tree cry like Nancy Kerrigan, gaining access to the
Sparkling Star it had in its very own possession!

Castle LoLoLo

A Broom Hatter will come right at Kirby, so drill him and pass through the
door, utilizing the nearby Microphone to destroy the Koozer, Waddle Dees,
and a Waddle Doo, followed by either going up to find a door (guarded by a
Blatzy) that holds two Gaspars and two Pep Brews, but to continue head
through the door just to the right of the Microphone. A Flapper and a
Gaspar attack immediately, followed by a Bomb that can be inhaled to use on
another Flapper/Gaspar combo, who are also joined by a Broom Hatter. After
passing through the door, a split in the paths will occur, so choose Route
One for the more direct Route, while Route two will take Kirby past some
foes and grabbing a fairly unique Item.
===========
Route One
===========
Simply head right past the Mr. P. Umpkin (inhale it once it turns around),
followed by passing through the door that lies nearby.
===========
Route Two
===========
Go right and inhale the Mr. P. Umpkin, followed by going down the two
flights of stairs, dodging the Hurlies that fly randomly through out the
area. Turn left to gain access to the door in between the empty ? Blocks
(do not go right and pass the Mr. P. Umpkin). Koozer, Gordo, and Glunks
greet Kirby, looking below the Gordo for a Pep Brew (if needed) while moving
through the room, dealing with more Glunks and another Gordo, reaching a
door. Fly up to the Candy, grabbing it to become invulnerable, flying up
through the Koozers to pass through the door.
==========
Rejoined
==========
Gaspar and extremely aggressive Skullers will attack here, so Route One
takers should use air puffs and advance slowly to avoid being overwhelmed,
while Route Two takers will have the Candy handy (poet and did not know it)
for smashing all foes. Either way, advance to the right and drop into the
first pit, grabbing the Warp Star to ride along to the Mini-Boss!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
LoLoLo will still be hurt that HAL seems to have forgotten about his puzzle
solving abilities, and this time he is bringing a better weapon than an
emerald framer. LoLoLo will attack by pushing a block out of one of the
four holes in the wall on the right side of the screen, stopping, and then
throwing it horizontally across the rest of the screen, followed closely by
a very sneaky move of flinging an honest to goodness Gordo. To beat this
odd roundball (like Kirby can throw any rocks from his odd roundball home),
simply inhale the Emerald Framer, drop down or leap up a level to avoid the
Gordo, and then drop down to spit it back at him to damage him. Note that
he retreats very quickly, so time the drop in or jump up to get there just
after the Gordo has moved past. Do this three times and he will be
defeated, allowing Kirby to move into the next area.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a few seconds Kirby will appear in a new room, where Star Blocks are
the only thing in sight, despite some blocks for Hurlies. Although the door
forward is on the right side of the room, a door also sits at the top of the
room, beckoning Kirby to enter, finding two Gaspars guarding a Pep Brew and
some Spicy Food, which is great cause Kirby will need to exterminate the
Gaspars and Skullers that circle ever closer around Kirby when he goes back
out the door (might be best to blast a small hole for Kirby to escape
through, as the foes close in quickly). Once done in this area, Kirby will
find himself at war with Broom Hatters and Flappers, reaching the door that
lies up the stairs ahead.
This vertical room boasts various surprises, with Broom Hatters, Flappers,
and Gordos guarding various doors and prizes, but the walkthrough will only
cover the areas of interest (not the dead end doors). A Pep Brew is in the
room above Kirby when he enters (bust the Star Block to find it), followed
by flying upwards through the moving Gordos while ignoring the doors on the
left, going to the one in the top-right corner of the room instead to move
onwards. A Gaspar and two Waddle Dees will come after Kirby immediately,
followed by Flappers and a Broom Hatter when he reaches the door, which will
lead Kirby to the BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo & LaLaLa ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LoLoLo just does not give up, but he has forced his girlfriend LaLaLa back
into action despite the beating she took on the normal game. This guy has
no scruples whatsoever, but then again she had to rescue him in Adventures of
LoLo 3, so I can live with his alter ego of evil, as he has a past of
letting his girlfriend do all the work (smart guy really). Right, this
fight will see odd at first as most people will just suck in the Emerald
Framer, throw it at the enemy that it was removed from, and let the enemy
hit them as they get trapped in a corner. Well now, there are two better
strategies to utilize here, the first of which is to let the enemy pass by
on a lower level or higher level, followed by leaping/dropping to a
position right behind the foe, inhaling the Emerald Framer and spitting it
back at the foe. The second strategy is to be on the same level as a
charging foe, inhaling the Emerald Framer and then drop or jump to a safe
level to let the enemy pass, followed by dropping down to cram the block
into their backsides. After three hits an enemy will be downed, with the
victory and possession of the Sparkling Star being Kirby's with both foes
vanquished!
Float Islands
o---------------o
Kirby got more than he planned for with that tantalizing bait... though I
guess the fish he caught is technically the new bait, but whatever. Two
Koozers, two Flotzos, and a Peezer (throw an enemy into him to kill him),
followed by a Coconut over a Bomb. Use the Bomb on the Koozer and Waddle
Dees, leading to a watery expanse for Kirby to fly across (go above the
Blippers and the Waddle Doo), avoiding the barrage from the emerging Blatzy,
landing on solid ground to smoke the Coner. Watch out for a Koozer
descending from above, flying past the Flotzos as fast as possible, dropping
through the bullets of Blatzo, followed by using the nearby Microphone on
the various foes that surround Kirby. All that remains now is for a series
of Coconuts and three Coners to navigate by, passing through the door ahead
to enter a cave.
Grumples will attack at the first, so drop down and take on a second
Grumple, followed by going left through the Star Blocks and a Peezer,
reaching a Pep Brew. Head right to kill the respawned Grumple (also be
aware of the Grumple attacking from above), reaching a long vertical shaft
for Kirby to fly through, sticking to the left side of said passage to avoid
a falling coconut. Fight past the Grumples and jump the small gap, blowing
away Star Blocks in the big group of them, revealing a hidden door for Kirby
to pass through, which leads to a long dive down to find a 1-Up, followed by
a door that leads to the previous Grumple infested area. Puff up and go
down through the hole, carefully flying to the right (do not go too low, or
the Gordo patrolling the ledge will get the pink puffball) to shoot holes in
a Star Block wall, flying past the Gordos to crank a Peezer. A small detour
upwards will have a Flotzo and a Grumple guarding the way to a Pep brew, but
to advance drop down and plow through the Star Blocks to find a door.
Kill the two Blippers before flying up to grab the Spicy Food, quickly
moving past the Blatzy to face Koozers, Flotzos, and another Blatzy, which
will bring Kirby to a small door (blocked by a Star Block) that can be
entered to find a Pep Brew and a 1-Up, followed by exiting to face the
remaining Grumple, Flotzo, and Blatzy, heading through the door by a Coner
and a wicked display of firepower (courtesy of a Blatzy that seems to be on
crack), which will locate the Warp Star! Ride it to ... sigh ... have Kirby
do what some would consider an act of eco-terrorism, getting launched
upwards in the spray of a very pissed off swimming mammal. Upon landing,
head right to destroy some Grumples and a Coner, passing their small ambush
to find a Mint Leaf, which will start up the BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kaboola ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaboola can attack with a myriad of vollies, using three straight shots
in a row, a three shot spread attack, and he can also spin rapidly briefly,
followed by shooting across the screen to bound right into Kirby. Although
the foe has 8 life bars, each life bar requires 5 hits to drain one away,
meaning that the foe requires a whopping 40 hits to be subdued! Start off
by flying to the middle of the screen, firing non-stop, matching the height
of Kaboola until he reaches the right side of the screen, at which point
Kirby should drop back a bit to give him more reaction time for the coming
attacks. Now Kirby will continue to shoot Air Puffs at the flying
monstrosity, his goal is to keep dodging the cannon shots from the mounted
Shotzo, watching for the spinning charge attack (try to move as soon as
Kaboola tips off his area of attack). Keep up the attack while dodging all
shots, taking into account the wild and erratic movements of the boss, play
it safe at all times to take him down, and the third Sparkling Star will be
Kirby's!

o---------------o
Bubbly Clouds
o---------------o
I know I commented on this in the previous walkthrough section... but it
appears Kirby AND A CLOUD get it on and create more Kirby creatures!
Seriously, what kind of messed up biological factors go into this? It just
boggles the mind! *AHEM* Okay, back to it here as Kirby deals with a
Waddle Doo, a Gordo and a Benny, crossing the gap ahead to move into a small
gap jump to go under the firepower of a Blatzy, inhaling the diving Koozer
before flying under the next cloud to get onto solid footing to the right of
the Waddle Dee. Kill the Koozer and avoid the Benny, moving along to find
an entire squad of Scarfies to destroy with air puffs. A set of Whiskers
will try to confuse Kirby with their crazy acrobatics, so kill them before
leaping over the gap, where Waddle Dees/Waddle Doos will paratroop in on
umbrellas, which will then come after Kirby as well, so suck them in or hit
them their former owners. A Blatzy will signal a point where the Bennies
and Koozers will attack in a wild blitz, so move forward cautiously, going
through the door they reside near.
Let the Boomers attack before charging and inhaling them (using them on
other Boomers), clearing the way to take out a couple Waddle Doos before
flying through a spiky area, flying down to take out the Boomer, as his
boomerangs can get Kirby as they back past the Boomer. Cawcuns attack next
from the sky, followed closely by a barrage of insanely fast moving Koozers
(stay on the ground, inhaling till one is caught, followed by spitting him
out to get the next in line). After that comes two Scarfies from below, two
slow moving Waddle Dees with Koozers from above, leaving one last Boomer to
bypass, dropping to the door below to go through the portal to the next
area.
Waddle Dee, Whiskers, and a Benny will attack early on in this area (the
Benny will not just fly of like before, as he is kept in place by the
clouds), followed by facing a Waddle Dee and a Whisker, which is the point
that the paths diverge. Route One is the direct route to the Mini-Boss,
while Route two will garner a couple bonuses but require more enemies to be
faced while en route to the Mini-Boss.
===========
Route One
===========
Fly up and to the right, facing a Gordo, a Benny, a Scarfy, and then a
Boomer, locating a door to the Mini-Boss.
===========
Route Two
===========
Fly up to the left, taking out a Whisker to pass over a pond, running into a
dead-end. When Kirby stands against the different coloured patch of sky,
press UP to pass through a hidden door! Grab the Mint leaf and fly to the
right, locating a Pep brew, followed by firing off shots to destroy enemies
while keeping about the same elevation, coming across a second podium (which
holds a Maxim Tomato) and then drop down a tad to find a third podium (which
holds a 1-Up), followed by going up through the nearby door to find the
Mini-Boss!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko Jr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember how easy and pathetic Kracko Jr. was last time? Well, this time he
is insanely HARD. Seriously, he gets about 20 million times tougher, like
he has been taking steroids, smoking crack, and drinking coffee for about a
week straight without sleep. He will use the following attack pattern:
drops four bullets as he flies to the left across the top area of the
screen, drops down to bounce across the screen back to the right, flying up
to set up for a swooping attacking to the left, elevating to finally go to
the right, dropping three Bombs before starting the attack all over again.
This sounds bad, but if you are a thinking man he can be beaten fairly
easily. Run into the corner on the left at the start of the fight, followed
by ducking down (hold DOWN) and staying down until he does his swoop attack
(his second run at the ground), letting Kirby up and turning to inhale the
first Bomb he drops, which Kirby should spit at him as he moves forward a
bit AND jumps, hitting Kracko Jr. just as he retreats from the brief dives
he takes post-bombardment. Repeat the duck in corner and Bomb him as he
screws around on the right side of the screen, landing three hits to send
him packing, getting a Warp Star for Kirby!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko Jr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grab the Mint Leaf from the left side of the pond, flying to the right to
blast along the bottom row of Star Blocks, as it avoids the foes that
patrol the area (blast through at full speed to make this a true statement
at any rate) AND it leads to a Maxim Tomato. Fly up and deal with the
Waddle Dee group, followed by flying through the spike area and going
upwards to whack a Scarfy in front of the door, passing through to reach the
next area. In this area is some Spicy Food, so grab it and begin to blast
through the Star Blocks, BUT be warned that the falling stars here will
damage Kirby this time around, so watch for them while destroying said Star
Blocks, also making sure to fly across the small gaps ahead and get to the
next door, reaching the next door by pressing UP.
Fly upwards in this area, blowing the Boomer, Koozers, and anything else
that comes near Kirby out of the sky via an air puff to the face, reaching a
ledge with a door and where Waddle Dees/Waddle Doos will paratroop in again
(watch out for the attacking umbrellas). However, before going through the
portal, take a quick detour towards the crescent moon above, pressing UP to
pass through the secret portal that it represents. In this room, freefall
through the mass of Gordos and look for a 1-up and two Maxim Tomatoes to
choose from (first set is just a Maxim Tomato, the second set has the 1-Up
on the left, the third set has the Maxim Tomato on the left and a Waddle Dee
on the right), but if you press UP at anytime, the Items will be unreachable
as the fall needs to be continuous. Once the bottom is reached, go through
the door to get into the BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The mass of moisture, dust, and one scary eyeball will return to terrorize
Kirby, and much like his younger kin he boasts a bevy of new tricks. Kracko
will fight from the very center of the room this time, swooping down at
Kirby to attack, flying across the top of the screen and dropping Bombs, and
using a dual beam attack when stationary in the center of the arena. To
defeat this menace, choose one of the two corners, standing there and facing
him, as this will make Kirby safe from attack. The next move of Kracko will
dictate your reaction, but if he dives at Kirby, jump straight into the air
to avoid damage, and if he goes to the top corner of the screen get ready to
inhale a Bomb, which should be turned on him immediately. Kracko will
always begin each round of attacks by going to the center of the screen, so
react to his movements accordingly, landing six hits to blacken his eye,
gaining the fourth Sparkling Star!
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mt. DeDeDe
o------------o
Well, just like in stage three and with the whale, Kirby continues to drive
his Warp Star like some intoxicated teenager on a sitcom where they like to
have messages in the comedic routines. Seriously, this looks like something
out of Blossom or Charles In Charge or... I guess I best be quiet lest I
date myself a bit too much with these early 90's references.

Airpuff the Blopper off the start, inhaling the moonwalking Grizzo
(seriously, it looks like a fat swine version of Michael Jackson, sans the
suspected pedophilia), using it on the Tookey ahead before flying past the
blocking tree portion. Over solid ground again, Kirby will face a Poppy
Bros. Jr. and a Cappy, but just fly on past and go above the Gordo, dropping
down to touch the doppelganger Kirby, opening the door so Kirby can go
through to tussle with the Whispy Woods once again!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Whispy Woods ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fall down through the two openings to land beside a tree with a mug that
only a mother could love (though I suppose for a tree he does all right for
himself). Anyway, this tree attacks through two main methods, the first of
which is to spit out air puffs in a set of two, a set of four air puffs
(only immediately following a two set air puff attack), and he will drop a
set of three apples/Gordos from his branches (the numbers of each are random
so it could be all Gordos, all apples, or any mix in between), one after the
other. To start off each round of the fight (ie when Kirby first enters or
after he scores some hits), stand Kirby right beside the tree, waiting to
see what will occur. Once the tree starts to drop apples/Gordos, inhale the
apples and let them fly at the Whispy one (just turn and fire, no need to
aim for the ugly mug), though common sense dictates that the Gordos must be
avoided at all costs. After this it is just a simple matter of repeating
the pattern, making the tree cry like Nancy Kerrigan, killing him off for
good!
===================
LoLoLo Castle
===================
Air puff the Skuller to make him leave Kirby alone, flying upwards to come
face to face with a Mr. P. Umpkin (once he turns around anyway). Nail the
Broom Hatter before flying off to the right, dodging the shots from the
Glunk while flying over the Gaspar, dropping down to hit the Kirby clone,
removing Gordo from the door so Kirby can face off with LoLoLo & LaLaLa.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo & LaLaLa ~~~~
This fight will seem odd at first as most people will just suck in the
Emerald Framer, throw it at the enemy that it was removed from, and let the
into their backsides. After three hits an enemy will be downed, with the
victory leading back to the Castle of DeDeDe!
===================
Float Islands
===================
Use the Coconut on the jumping Blipper, moving off to the right to kill a
Flotzo and a Peezer before falling down the hole, where a Grumple and a
Coner bar the way to the left. Fly through the spikes with great care,
passing above the Gordo to hit the dancing Kirby, going through the door
to face two more Grumples and a Coner, which guard a Mint Leaf that starts
the fight with Kaboola.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kaboola ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaboola can attack with a myriad of vollies, using three straight shots
in a row, a three shot spread attack, and he can also spin rapidly briefly,

Kaboola tips off his area of attack). Keep up the attack while dodging all
shots, taking into account the wild and erratic movements of the boss, play
it safe at all times to take him down, knocking another guardian down into
defeat!
===================
Bubbly Clouds
===================
Although there are many foes in this area, the way to dive and avoid all
foes is as follows. Dive off to the left of the podium Kirby begins on,
waiting until the Cawcun flies to the right, followed by moving Kirby into
the center of the podium, watching on the right for a Boomer on a different
podium. As soon as the Boomer is in the past, move to the right slightly,
falling face first into a puffed up Kirby, which will kill all the foes and
remove Gordo from the door, allowing Kirby to go after the boss.

~~~~ Kracko ~~~~
The mass of moisture, dust, and one scary eyeball will return to terrorize
Kirby, and much like his younger kin he boasts a bevy of new tricks. Kracko
always begin each round of attacks by going to the center of the screen, so
react to his movements accordingly, landing six hits to blacken his eye,
removing this storm front wannabe from Kirby's concerns permanently!
With this out of the way, all four doors will now be closed, allowing Kirby
to fly straight upwards into the portrait of King DeDeDe, which will whisk
Kirby away to the BOSS FIGHT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ King DeDeDe ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
King DeDeDe is the final battle in the game, and where else should the two
settle their differences than in a wrestling ring (especially since Kirby
already laid his ass out in the Normal Game)? I can imagine the pre-match
preamble now... LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING KIRBY! YOU MAY HAVE BEAT MY
CANDY ASS THE FIRST TIME AROUND, BUT I GOT A NEW TECHNIQUE TO LAY THE SMACK
DOWN ON YOU, IF YOU SMELL WHAT THE KING IS COOKING!!! Okay, maybe that is
more like if King DeDeDe ripped off the Rock after he ripped off the Hogan
gimmick and stole the food from Dream Land, but you get the point.
King DeDeDe has a myriad of attacks to utilize, whether it is charging
and attempting to inhale Kirby (much like he has done to the minions of
DeDeDe for the entire game), swinging a hammer (if Kirby is on the ground or
in the air), jumping through the air to try and land on Kirby, and he will
charge at Kirby and trip... yeah, that one makes him look far less
impressive than the rest of the attacks. Note that he will also be twice as
fast as before, with minimal pause times between attacks, meaning you have
to be fast with your reactions to damage him and avoid getting drilled.
When he charges at Kirby, it is best to inflate and fly over the top of him,
landing behind him to draw his attention in a new direction, looking for
DeDeDe to perform one of two attacks than can create stars for Kirby to
inhale. When DeDeDe swings his hammer, a star is created, so inhale it and
send it back into the beast to damage him. The other attack is when DeDeDe
leaps high into the air, crashing to the ground to create two stars (one on
each side), so inhale one of them and smoke him to damage him. Hit him ten
times while dodging his attacks, getting stars whenever possible (if Kirby
is in a bad position to try and get a star, it is best to not bother and not
risk his life meter), and Kirby will get the fifth and final Sparkling Star,
sending the King flying off into space, allowing Kirby to return the food to
the hungry people of Dream Land!

~~~~ King DeDeDe ~~~~
There you have it, the game is defeated for good, so CONGRATULATIONS!
Not much else to do but to pop this classic in now and then, reliving the
early days of Kirby (or play his future titles, enjoying the great
improvements in his skills!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------Items------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) This section will look at all of the great Items that Kirby can use to
his advantage against King Dedede's troops.
Bomb...........: Usually located near a stack of bricks, it will explode upon
being attacked and it will remove all of the nearby bricks
so Kirby can pass through.
Candy..........: A rare find, this Lollipop will give Kirby invulnerability
for about thirty seconds. He will be able to kill every
enemy in one hit except for unkillable enemies like Gordo
or Shotzo.
Maximum Tomato.: This lovely Item will resort all of your Life Meter,
regardless of the status of your Life Meter.
Microphone.....: Although some beings possess such wonderful singing voices,
they can distract others with the wonderful emanations.
Kirby goes for the opposite however, instead making use of
his god awful vocal chords to decimate all foes with his
putrid sound!
Mint Leaf......: This fairly rare Item will allow Kirby to inflate and fly
at a faster rate than normal. Even better is the fact he
can also rapid fire air puffs from his mouth without
deflating, meaning he is a killing machine for the next 30
seconds of game time.
Pep Brew.......: This small bottle of soda will restore two bars of Kirby's
Life Meter, unless he is missing just one (then it just
replaces one bar of the Life Meter as one is all that he
needs!).
Sparkling Stars: Each boss holds one of these, with four of them being
required to go after King DeDeDe. Beat each boss with
whatever they supply Kirby with, dealing pain and making
them look bad.
Spicy Food.....: Kirby will have indigestion after scarfing this wonderfully
hot food, causing him to spew fireballs at an incredible
rate for the next 30 seconds, so go roast some enemy and
enjoy the smell of B-B-Q!
Star Blocks....: These objects lie around Dreamland, offering a handy
projectile to spit at enemies. They also create structures,
allowing Kirby to pick his path past his enemies in some
areas. They can also be used to hide doorways and other
secrets!
------------------------------------Enemies---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
6) This section will list all of the enemies and their behaviours.
Mini-Bosses will be in their own sub-section, involving their names,
behaviours, and how to deal with them effectively.
o----------o
Regulars
o----------o
Name.....: Benny.
Behaviour: A kamikaze foe in the Extra Game who will launch himself at
Kirby in an attempt to ram him. Inhale them when they draw near,
or drill them from afar.
Name.....: Blatzy.
Behaviour: A small cannon that can have stationary aim or it can adjust it's
aim, it will fire off cannonballs in an attempt to peg Kirby.
The replacement for Shotzo in the Extra Game, they are
invulnerable to all attacks so you have to avoid them at all
costs.
Name.....: Blipper.
Behaviour: A fish that jumps out of it's watery home to try and smash into
Kirby. For the most part they are just easier to ignore and
avoid, but they can be taken care of with a little effort.
Name.....: Blopper.
Behaviour: The Extra Game replacement for Cappy, this foe throws out endless
supplies of icing in arcs in an attempt to smack Kirby. Rush in
close to inhale this foe or spit at it from afar.
Name.....: Booler.
Behaviour: A rather harmless ghost that will circle around Kirby slowly,
looking to run into the pink puffball. Inhale it or just run on
by quickly.
Name.....: Boomer.
Behaviour: Sir Kibble's replacement in the Extra Game, he throws a boomerang
that goes far further than Kibble's Cutter. Inhale it between
attacks or just fly on by to get through the area.
Name.....: Bronto Burt.
Behaviour: These weirdos fly around the screen, sometimes almost ignoring
Kirby to a fault, sometimes they will loop around to fly at Kirby
in the most aggressive patterns. Unless they are right in your
path, you can generally ignore these guys.
Name.....: Broom Hatter.
Behaviour: She will sweep along the floor, back and forth, waiting for Kirby
to come into range. Inhale her quickly to get rid of this minor
annoyance.
Name.....: Cappy.
Behaviour: This small fungi will let his mushroom cap go if you try to
inhale him, so just throw his cap back into him to destroy him.
Name.....: Cawkan.
Behaviour: Replacing Puffy in the Extra Game, it flies far more aggressively
than the puffed one, looking to home in on Kirby. Try to smack
them immediately, or just try to inhale as they draw near.
Name.....: Chucky.
Behaviour: A raspberrying foe, it bounces around the screen and tries to ram
Kirby. Inhale or fire an object into him, though he can be tough
to hit.
Name.....: Coconut.
Behaviour: Sitting in tree branches, waiting for Kirby to draw near so they
can try to drop down and explode upon his pinkness. Hit them or
inhale them before passing underneath them to keep Kirby safe.
Name.....: Coner.
Behaviour: A shelled foe that slides along the ground at extremely slow
speeds. Inhale, spit at, or just jump past this speed bump.
Name.....: Dizzy.
Behaviour: Tending to attack in groups, they will fly onto screen from any
and all directions, attempting to ram into Kirby. Avoid or
inhale, they are tough to time spitting attacks on.
Name.....: Flapper.
Behaviour: A fairly aggressive bat that will come after Kirby in LoLoLo's
castle, so inhale or avoid to deal with him.
Name.....: Flotzo.
Behaviour: An octopus that will look to pop Kirby when he draws near, found
only in the Extra Game.
Name.....: Gaspar.
Behaviour: Moves around various areas in an attempt to run into Kirby, doing
so exclusively in the Extra Game. Inhale them if they draw near,
or nail them from afar with another foe to assure that they do
not get in a lucky shot.
Name.....: Glunk.
Behaviour: Located in water, they will fire off projectiles at Kirby as he
nears.
Name.....: Gordo.
Behaviour: A spiked ball, he will usually move back and forth over a
pre-determined area, waiting for Kirby to try and pass. They can
not be hurt, so just avoid them as best you can while moving
through the levels.
Name.....: Grizzo.
Behaviour: A large bear that can sometimes give Poppy Bros. Jr. a ride, it
bounds along looking as if it does not have a care in the world.
Although it is massive in size, Kirby can still inhale it.
Name.....: Grumples.
Behaviour: Kabu's replacement in the Extra Game, he is faster and more
erratic with his disappear/reappear act. Inhale or hit with an
object, he can be easier to sometimes ignore and just pass on by
instead.
Name.....: Hurly.
Behaviour: A raspberrying foe, it bounces around the screen and tries to ram
Kirby. Inhale or fire an object into him, though he can be tough
to hit.
Name.....: Kabu.
Behaviour: This Easter Island wannabe will appear and disappear continually,
so wait for him to appear so Kirby can dust him to remove his
wicked little grinless self from the area.
Name.....: Kookler.
Behaviour: A horned foe who will try to run right into Kirby physically. A
typical attack of inhale or spit will take him down.
Name.....: Koozer.
Behaviour: Another Bronto Burt replacement in the Extra Game, he flies
faster and is far more aggressive in doubling back to try and
defeat Kirby. He is still just as easy to inhale or to attack
however.
Name.....: Mr. P. Umpkin.
Behaviour: The Extra Game version of Two Face, this baddie is only
vulnerable once it turns to show his face. This is when he
should be inhaled and destroyed.
Name.....: Mumbies.
Behaviour: A ball of bandages and dust, he can completely resist being
inhaled, to hit with an Air Puff or object, otherwise it is best
to just avoid the monster altogether.
Name.....: Peezer.
Behaviour: A hard-shelled creature, it has the ability to use a Beam attack,
just like Waddle Doo. It is immobile however, making it fairly
easy to spit at or to inhale, though only if fully expanded.
Replaces Wizzer in the Extra Game.
Name.....: Poppy Bros. Jr.
Behaviour: A cute enemy who walks around in small hops, it will also roll
along on an Apple or Grizzo. Not a dangerous foe, just attack
and remove this simpleton from your path with great ease.
Name.....: Puffy.
Behaviour: A laidback floating ball of gas, he will sort of meander towards
Kirby, just begging to be inhaled and digested in a heartbeat.
Name.....: Scarfy.
Behaviour: A rather tame fellow, he will explode into a rage if Kirby tries
to inhale him (chasing Kirby for a few seconds before exploding).
He will explode upon dying, so keep your distance when you take
one out.
Name.....: Shotzo.
Behaviour: A small cannon that can have stationary aim or it can adjust it's
aim, it will fire off cannonballs in an attempt to peg Kirby.
They are invulnerable to all attacks so you have to avoid them at
all costs.
Name.....: Sir Kibble.
Behaviour: A clumsy looking fellow, he will throw out his Cutter blade a
short distance to try and peg Kirby. Attack him between his
Cutter throws, or just fly past him to totally avoid this
nuisance.
Name.....: Skuller.
Behaviour: A dried out skull, he can completely resist being inhaled, to hit
with an Air Puff or object, otherwise it is best to just avoid
the monster altogether, as he is the Mumbies Extra Game
replacement.
Name.....: Squishy.
Behaviour: Small, octopus-like creatures that swim towards Kirby and try to
touch him. Very easy to beat enemies, so they are not a big
bother at all to the Pink Eating Machine.
Name.....: Tookey.
Behaviour: When Kirby draws near, this hen takes to the sky and flies at
Kirby. Inhale this Extra Game replacement for Twizzy when it
takes flight, disabling any potential attack runs.
Name.....: Twizzy.
Behaviour: This small bird will take flight when Kirby draws near, though it
will typically just fly up and down with little to no effort to
smash into Kirby. Inhale it or fly right on by to beat deal with
this foe.
Name.....: Two Face.
Behaviour: Found in Castle LoLoLo, he will hide his face until Kirby comes
near, turning at that point to attack. This also means he is
vulnerable, so inhale him at that point.
Name.....: Waddle Dee.
Behaviour: A very basic enemy, he will walk back and forth between walls
taller then him, also walking off of ledges without walls.
Simple enough to kill, they will soon become nearly invisible to
your eye as you get used to the game. He can jump occasionally,
but it is a rarity.
Name.....: Waddle Doo.
Behaviour: A close relative to Waddle Dee, he too walks along, jumping
barriers, but he has a beam attack he can use as he goes along.
Attack him quickly or attack from a distance if he starts his
Beam attack, but this enemy is not a big threat.
Name.....: Whiskers.
Behaviour: As Kookler's replacement in the Extra Game, he will try to run
right into Kirby physically. A typical attack of inhale or spit
will take him down.
Name.....: Wizzer.
Behaviour: A hard-shelled creature, it has the ability to use a Beam attack,
just like Waddle Doo. It is immobile however, making it fairly
easy to spit at or to inhale.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Poppy Bros. Sr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This pyrotechnic using psychopath will attack Kirby by lobbing bombs in his
direction, looking to make himself a roasted marshmallow (without the need
for a bonfire), and he will also occasionally bound back and forth across
the screen (though he will always end up on the right side of the battle
area). To take on this rather simple enemy, stand near the cloud closest to
the ground, waiting for the hopping clown to lob a Bomb at Kirby. When it
is inhaled, let it fly back to hit the foe, knocking one portion of his life
meter away. Now, he will either continue the same pattern (hop on the right
side of the screen, lobbing a Bomb), in which case it is a simple matter to
drill him with another Bomb of his own making, or he will hop back and forth
across the screen, in which case Kirby should stand just to the left of the
same cloud he is at, letting Poppy bound around. Three hits will end the
brief reign of Poppy Bros. Sr. as your focal point in your life, so feel
free to heave a sigh of... pity (as he was not really that tough).
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
LoLoLo looks AWFULLY familiar to another HAL creation... if I recall
correctly... nah forget it. Anyhow, LoLoLo will attack by pushing a block
out of one of the four holes in the wall on the right side of the screen,
stopping, and then throwing it horizontally across the rest of the screen.
To beat this odd roundball (like Kirby can throw any rocks from his odd
roundball home), simply inhale the Emerald Framer (oops! Gave it away who
he is referencing!) and spit it back at him to damage him. Do this three
times and he will be defeated, allowing Kirby to move into the next area.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko Jr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kracko Jr. has three modes of attacks, which has a set pattern for order of
said attacks. He starts off by firing off four bullets in a spread pattern,
followed by him diving down at Kirby, retreating back to the top corner to
drop a Waddle Doo as he does a brief dip. This is all he will ever do in
the fight, meaning that he is simple as pie to defeat. Start off by
retreating to the bottom left corner, letting the bullets and the body of
Kracko Jr. go flying on by, followed by moving to the middle of the screen,
waiting for the drop of the Waddle Dee for Kirby to inhale, spitting it back
at the baddie to damage him. Repeat the pattern twice more, landing the
third hit to make Kracko Jr. take flight, revealing a Warp Star for Kirby to
snag to go for a ride!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Poppy Bros. Sr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This pyrotechnic using psychopath will attack Kirby by lobbing bombs in his
direction, looking to make himself a roasted marshmallow (without the need
for a bonfire), and he will also occasionally shoot across the screen and
then return to the right side of the screen in a mere two seconds. However,
this time he appears to have snorted a long line of cocaine or taken some
uppers, as he moves at double speed as well as throwing more Bombs in a
hurry, which is further complicated by his ability to charge across the
screen without warning, but if you feel he is going to charge, puff up and
fly straight up to avoid the incoming charge. Keep on sucking in Bombs and
returning them at the old pyromaniac as fast as possible (though he can
block them with new bombs) to land three hits, putting an end to this
threatening firebug.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
LoLoLo will still be hurt that HAL seems to have forgotten about his puzzle
solving abilities, and this time he is bringing a better weapon than an
emerald framer. LoLoLo will attack by pushing a block out of one of the
four holes in the wall on the right side of the screen, stopping, and then
throwing it horizontally across the rest of the screen, followed closely by
a very sneaky move of flinging an honest to goodness Gordo. To beat this
odd roundball (like Kirby can throw any rocks from his odd roundball home),
simply inhale the Emerald Framer, drop down or leap up a level to avoid the
Gordo, and then drop down to spit it back at him to damage him. Note that
he retreats very quickly, so time the drop in or jump up to get there just
after the Gordo has moved past. Do this three times and he will be
defeated, allowing Kirby to move into the next area.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko Jr. ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember how easy and pathetic Kracko Jr. was last time? Well, this time he
is insanely HARD. Seriously, he gets about 20 million times tougher, like
he has been taking steroids, smoking crack, and drinking coffee for about a
week straight without sleep. He will use the following attack pattern:
drops four bullets as he flies to the left across the top area of the
screen, drops down to bounce across the screen back to the right, flying up
to set up for a swooping attacking to the left, elevating to finally go to
the right, dropping three Bombs before starting the attack all over again.
This sounds bad, but if you are a thinking man he can be beaten fairly
easily. Run into the corner on the left at the start of the fight, followed
by ducking down (hold DOWN) and staying down until he does his swoop attack
(his second run at the ground), letting Kirby up and turning to inhale the
first Bomb he drops, which Kirby should spit at him as he moves forward a
bit AND jumps, hitting Kracko Jr. just as he retreats from the brief dives
he takes post-bombardment. Repeat the duck in corner and Bomb him as he
screws around on the right side of the screen, landing three hits to send
him packing, getting a Warp Star for Kirby!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------Bosses-----------------------------------
7) This section will look at the Bosses for the end of every World, covering
their movements, attacks, and how to beat them quickly and efficiently.
~~~~ Whispy Woods ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fall down through the two openings to land beside a tree with a mug that
only a mother could love (though I suppose for a tree he does all right for
himself). Anyway, this tree attacks through two main methods, the first of
which is to spit out air puffs in a set of two, a set of four air puffs
(only immediately following a two set air puff attack), and he will drop a
set of three apples from his branches, one after the other. To start off
each round of the fight (ie when Kirby first enters or after he scores some
hits), stand Kirby right beside the tree, waiting to see what will occur.
Once the tree starts to drop apples, inhale each one and let it fly at the
Whispy one (just turn and fire, no need to aim for the ugly mug). After
this it is just a simple matter of repeating the pattern, making the tree
cry like Nancy Kerrigan, gaining access to the Sparkling Star it had in its
very own possession!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ LoLoLo & LaLaLa ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After three hits an enemy will be downed, with the
victory and possession of the Sparkling Star being Kirby's with both foes
vanquished!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kaboola ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaboola can attack with a myriad of vollies, using three straight shots
in a row, a three shot spread attack, and he can also spin rapidly briefly,
followed by shooting across the screen to bound right into Kirby. Although
the foe has 8 life bars, each life bar requires 5 hits to drain one away,
meaning that the foe requires a whopping 40 hits to be subdued! Start off
by flying to the middle of the screen, firing non-stop, matching the height
of Kaboola until he reaches the right side of the screen, at which point
Kirby should drop back a bit to give him more reaction time for the coming
attacks. Now Kirby will continue to shoot Air Puffs at the flying
monstrosity, his goal is to keep dodging the cannon shots from the mounted
Shotzo, watching for the spinning charge attack (try to move as soon as
Kaboola tips off his area of attack). Keep up the attack (which comes down
to pounding the B Button and quick reflexes to avoid the shots and charges)
to take him down, and the third Sparkling Star will be Kirby's!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
This overblown cloud with the cycloptic complexion will attack by various
methods, including: diving in a wide arc, throwing out a Waddle Doo, and
using a beam attack. Kirby should stand near the middle of the room, shying
slightly to the side the that Kracko does not occupy (ie he is on left, you
are a bit off center to the right), jumping him if he dives, standing still
if he uses a beam attack, and suck in the Waddle Doo when dropped, using it
as a weapon against Kracko. "Crack" the foe six times (hehe... CRACK HIM!)
to break apart the approaching storm front, releasing the fourth Sparkling
Star so Kirby can go after King DeDeDe's Sparkling Star!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ King DeDeDe ~~~~

King DeDeDe has a myriad of attacks to utilize, whether it is charging
and attempting to inhale Kirby (much like he has done to the minions of

attention in a new direction, looking for DeDeDe to perform one of two

hammer, a star is created, so inhale it and send it back into the beast to
damage him. The other attack is when DeDeDe leaps high into the air,
crashing to the ground to create two stars (one on each side), so inhale one
of them and smoke him to damage him. Hit him ten times while dodging his
attacks, getting stars whenever possible (if Kirby is in a bad position to
try and get a star, it is best to not bother and not risk his life meter),
and Kirby will get the fifth and final Sparkling Star, sending the King
flying off into space, allowing Kirby to return the food to the hungry people
of Dream Land!

set of three apples/Gordos from his branches (the numbers of each are random
so it could be all Gordos, all apples, or any mix in between), one after the

~~~~ LoLoLo & LaLaLa ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LoLoLo just does not give up, but he has forced his girlfriend LaLaLa back
into action despite the beating she took on the normal game. This guy has
no scruples whatsoever, but then again she had to rescue him in Adventures of
LoLo 3, so I can live with his alter ego of evil, as he has a past of
letting his girlfriend do all the work (smart guy really). Right, this
fight will see odd at first as most people will just suck in the Emerald

shots, taking into account the wild and erratic movements of the boss, play
it safe at all times to take him down, and the third Sparkling Star will be
Kirby's!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ Kracko ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The mass of moisture, dust, and one scary eyeball will return to terrorize
Kirby, and much like his younger kin he boasts a bevy of new tricks. Kracko
will fight from the very center of the room this time, swooping down at
Kirby to attack, flying across the top of the screen and dropping Bombs, and
using a dual beam attack when stationary in the center of the arena. To
defeat this menace, choose one of the two corners, standing there and facing
him, as this will make Kirby safe from attack. The next move of Kracko will
dictate your reaction, but if he dives at Kirby, jump straight into the air
to avoid damage, and if he goes to the top corner of the screen get ready to
inhale a Bomb, which should be turned on him immediately. Kracko will
always begin each round of attacks by going to the center of the screen, so
react to his movements accordingly, landing six hits to blacken his eye,
gaining the fourth Sparkling Star!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ King DeDeDe ~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
