Hello, and welcome to ac_helper's Creature Information Guide!
This guide not only includes each creature's name, but info on where
it can be found, and what (if any) special conditions need to exist
in order to find it. Although it is likely that many creatures can be
found just by doing the main plot, and doing some relaxing diving
when you're done or taking a break from the main plot, there are
others that are more elusive, and you may find you need a little
more help to find them. This is what the guide is for.
I have decided to make 2 sections in the guide: a list of creatures
in the order they can be found in your "Marine Life Encyclopedia",
and another list of the same creatures in the order they can be
found by area. (This means some creatures will be repeated in the
area listing, as some can be found in more than one area.)
The creature list by area will also double as a checklist. I will
separate the fish found only in that area, and the fish that can be
found in other areas for easier reference.
This listing goes by the North American version of the game, but I
will also list the creature's name in the EU version, if I know what
it is.
After you fully complete the main plot (meaning the CotG is closed),
when you click on the silhouette of an unfound creature in your book,
you can flip through the area maps and see where it's found.
Each square a creature can be found in is colored reddish brown.
This guide is so you can see where all the creatures are without
having to constantly go back to Nineball Island to look at the book.
If you are in a particular area for sightseeing or salvage hunting,
you can glance at this guide to see what you may encounter there.
The larger area maps give you the full squares a creature can be
found in; the smaller maps are divided into 4 smaller sections:
N = North
S = South
E = East
W = West
NW = Northwest
NE = Northeast
SW = Southwest
SE = Southeast
=================================================
=====SECTION 1: Creatures by Book Order [CBO]=====
KEY:
Creatures are found in this part 1st by page, page side, then
by row, then by which one in the row (if there is more than 1
fish in that row).
How creatures can be found by where they are in the book:
1=page number,
L=left
R=right
T=Top
B=Bottom
L=left
R=right
Example: if you are looking for what creature is on page 10, left
side, top row, right one, it would look like this:
[10L-T-R]
In this case, the creature you're looking for is the Banded angelfish.
Some creatures take up all the space on a page side, or even the
entire page, and this will be reflected in the key.
Creatures with asterisks (*) have trivia info. You can try feeding,
petting, taking a picture of, or using the sea whistle on each
of these creatures to get the trivia for them.
If there are both adult and young versions of the creature,
getting the trivia from only one of them credits you for both.
General rules for trivia info: always try feeding the creature first.
If that does NOT work, move on to petting/poking them;
then try taking a picture, then the sea whistle.
The dolphins and whales generally like the sea whistle;
the penguins generally like to be petted/poked
quite a few of the legendaries like their picture taken.
There ARE exceptions to these, so try everything!
The adult and young versions have the same info, and show as being
in the same area even if only one version is found in that area.
If you cannot find one of the versions of the creature in the
squares/area listed, try somewhere else it's found.
Creatures noted with a {G} appear under glows ONLY.
NOTES:
These stay in relatively slow-moving, large groups,
over coral. They can be found both day and night.

There are just 7 of these in 3 rooms of the Castle-
3 each in the two rooms prior to the Underwater Gallery,

51. [8L-B-L] Tomato clownfish* {G}
LOCATION: Zahhab Region
Co-ords: E-3; B&C-4; C-6; D-7
NOTES:
This fish is perhaps THE hardest fish to find. It is likely the
last creature you will need to locate. The trick is just to keep
diving with Oceana and looking for it.
The glows it can be under are mostly on coral cliff sides (not
usually on top), and is found at night only.
Update: after several save files worth of info in looking for this
fish, I can say I find it more easily in E-3; there is a glow spot
on the top of the cliff face there it seems to like. The glow is
near Stone Castle, but not on/in it.

G-3, right in front of it, usually a glow on a rock), day and night.
You MAY find this in H-6, at night. The glow where the
Red-streaked box crab was in the daytime sometimes holds one
of these instead, at times also with a Parade-float sea slug and/or

NOTES:
There only seems to be 1 of these, and the glow it's found under

NOTES:
These are found in glows on the side of coral rock "walls".
Although most of time you can find these IN Cross Rift,
sometimes you may also find one on the rock "wall"
outside of it. They are inside of a small hole, and slowly
poke their head out. They can be found both day and night.

106. [15R-B] Japanese sardine (NA: Pacific sardine?)
NOTES:
These swim throughout Zahhab in medium-sized shoals, slow
to medium speed. They can be found both day and night.
All shoals, except the one in B-7 (Coral Valley) are called
"Pacific sardine". The shoal here is called "Japanese sardine";
this could mean the game designers changed the name of this
fish for the North American version, but forgot to change the B-7
shoal's name, or they were going to change the name but decided
against it, but forgot to change the other shoals' names back before
they released game in the North American market.
I have left the probable EU name as the operative one since I'm not
sure which name they intended to use for this fish in the NA version.
NOTES:
For both areas: these travel in medium-large shoals, and move at
at a medium speed. In the Weddell Sea, they're just about everywhere;
in the Iceberg Cavern, there is one large shoal of them that travels
around the middle area. They are found day and night in both areas.

being here, however. It is only there as part of the plot.

165. [32L-T] Orca*
LOCATIONS: Weddell Sea and Zahhab Region
Weddell: D-1SW
Zahhab: D-7; G&H-7; G-8

in a large, loose group out in the open sea.
They can be found both day and night in both areas.
NOTES:
There is only one of these, and it swims at a medium speed,
about 430-450 ft [131-137m] down. This is NOT the same one
you can befriend. That one appears in a slightly different area.
(The "special" one you can befriend seems to appear at a
slightly lower depth than this one.)
It can be found both day and night.

during the main plot. It swims in a circuit in the Spring Garden,
both day and night. However, at times it is replaced with the
legendary Black Harbinger (at the New Moon phase only).

174. [34-B] North Atlantic right whale*
LOCATION: Ciceros Strait
Co-ords: D&E-6; D, E, F-7&8
NOTES:
There is only 1 of these, and it swims around the Triton

<<< B O T H S I D E S >>>
175. [35-T] Pygmy sperm whale
LOCATION: Deep Hole
Co-ords: B-3
NOTES:
There is just one of these, the one you helped get out of the
tiny cave at the bottom of Deep Hole. Although found both
day and night, during the day it stays at the bottom of Deep Hole;
at night it comes out and swims outside the actual Deep Hole.
NOTES:
There is only 1 of these; you can see it in the Depths during the
main plot, when it fights with the giant squid, and sometimes
after that, still locked in a fight with it. You can get its info before
you change its course as part of the plot.
At night, it swims in a slow circuit in the open sea, 90 ft [27m].
In fact, the first time you see it in Zahhab, it comes up from
the Depths at night; you see this in a cutscene over the Twin
Crevasse area the first time you swim over it (after the plot
part here is over).

Co-ords: A-1N&SE; B-1N&SW; C-1NW&S; B-2N; C-2; D-2SW; C-3NE;
D-3NW&S; B-4E; C-4
NOTES:
There are two or three of these, and they swim around 60 ft [18m]
deep. They are VERY large, and go slowly, and should be easy to
focus on. They can be found both day and night.
After a part in the main plot, one of these blue whales are seen,
this time in the Weddell Sea. This whale then vanishes, but MAY be
found here later. It may have the left side route circuit.

===DEEP SEA LIFE [DSL]===
This section has 29 entries, and goes from pages 38-42 (inclusive).
These creatures are mostly found in two places: the Zahhab Region
Depths, or the Cavern of the Gods. There are only 2 creatures in
this section that can be found outside of these places (the Ocean
sunfish and the Cleaner wrasse attached to it, both found in Deep
Hole as well as the other two deep areas).
NOTES:
There are only a few of these fish; one or two float slowly
near a group of other fish and seem to try to hide among them
around the 345 ft [105m] mark. Found day and night.
NOTES:
Several of these float slowly around around 400 ft [122m],
far enough away from each other to not considered to be in
a group. They can be found both day and night.
NOTES:
These float in loose groups around 345-360 ft [105-110m] deep.
They're hard to miss, as they (according to Phisheep) look like
"tails with mouths". They can be found both day and night.
-------------------------------------------------
<<< R I G H T S I D E >>>
184. [38R-T-L] Snailfish*
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: D-1NE
NOTES:
There are about 5 of these in one of the small corner rooms.
They slowly move around the room, both day and night.
They can be seen during the main plot.
NOTES:
Several of these rest on the floor of the Depths area; it's hard to
miss them. They look almost like ghosts; they don't move around much.
They can be found both day and night.
NOTES:
There is only 1 of these, and it floats over the hole leading to the
Subterranean Reception Room in the Altar of Horus room (about
240 ft [73m]). It can be found both day and night.
It can be seen during the main plot.
NOTES:
These swim around in several large, loose groups. They seem to
prefer caves and cave mouths, as most of them are found in the
Northern Cavern, as well as in the Secret Passage and near its
mouth (Northern Crevasse entrance/exit). They glow off and on
and are REALLY hard to miss. They can be found day and night.
NOTES:
These are found under glows on the very bottom of the Depths,
either as a single large group, or a few paired with Deep-sea blind
shrimp and/or Venus's flower baskets. Found both day and night.
NOTES:
These are found under glows only; they can be seen as one large
group, alone, or a few paired with Galatheid crabs and/or Venus's
flower baskets. They can be found both day and night.
-------------------------------------------------
194. [39R-B-L] Sea gooseberry* {G}
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: B-3NW; D-3NE; A-4SE
NOTES:
These are usually found several to a glow,
on the side of a wall, both day and night.
Their glows can appear during the main plot.
NOTES:
There is only one glow they're under, and it's found in Osiris'
Courtyard. As you emerge from the Giant's Lair into the
Courtyard, look to your left and see the HD-9 sub laying there;
near the sub is a glow containing this creature (try between the
sub and wall). It can be found both day and night.
There are either 1 or 2 under this glow; however at times
another glow creature may replaces the spider(s). If this happens,
either go back another time, or return to the boat, then re-dive.

===P A G E 4 0===
<<< L E F T S I D E >>>
196. [40L-T] Ocean sunfish*
LOCATIONS: Deep Hole, Zahhab Depths, Cavern of the Gods
Deep Hole: B-3NW
Depths: B-2E; B-3N (Northern Crevasse)
CotG: C-3SE
NOTES:
Deep Hole: The only one there is swimming during the day only.
Depths: There is only one here; it replaces the oarfish at night only.
CotG: There is 1 here, in the Altar of Nephthys room, day and night.
-------------------------------------------------
197. [40L-B-L] Opah*
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: B-1N; C-1N; D-1N&SE; D-2E
NOTES:
There are 2 or 3 here, doing solitary hallway patrol, day and
night. They do not appear until after the CotG re-opening.
You cannot see any of these until after their cutscene
introduction, and the cutscene only plays on your first
daytime dive to the re-opened CotG.
-------------------------------------------------
198. [40L-B-R] Polka-dot ribbonfish*
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: C-2NE
NOTES:
There are 4 of these in the Altar of Osiris room, day
and night. They can be seen during the main plot.
NOTES:
These float in a very loose group around the area
of the Southern Cavern, and are also inside it.
Another group is found in the left Twin Cave (with the
Gravekeeper). They can be found both day and night.
NOTES:
These float slowly around in large, loose groups from around
210-240 ft [64-73m]. They are REALLY hard to miss as you descend;
no matter how fast you go down, you are almost always bound to run
into at least one group. They can be found both day and night.
NOTES:
There are three of these on patrol in the Depths, in both Crevasses.
In the Northern Crevasse, one patrols in a circuit near the mouth of
the Northern Cavern, around 315 ft [96m]. In the Southern
Crevasse, one patrols around the cavern's bend to the south.
They look ferocious, but are not dangerous. Found day and night.
There is a 3rd one in the Depths, in the Northern Crevasse.
The first time you see it is in a cutscene, where it swims through
the Secret Passage; after that it patrols a small area below the
one near the Northern Cavern.
You will NOT see any of these until you swim through the Secret
Passage after the main plot part here is over; it seems the cutscene
here triggers them being available.
-------------------------------------------------
203. [41L-B] Goblin shark
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: B-2SW; B-3NW
NOTES:
This has to be THE ugliest creature in the game (minus the Asian
sheepshead wrasse). 2 of these patrol the Pillars of Shadow at night;
they are the same ones, along with the Okeanos' Guardian, that
you have to deal with during the main plot. They are dangerous,
and if you can't get their info during the plot, you will likely have
to go back and get it at some point.
They swim among the coelacanths, so keep your eyes peeled for
their larger shapes among the medium ones.
-------------------------------------------------
<<< R I G H T S I D E >>>
204. [41R-T] Frilled shark*
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: D-1NE
NOTES:
There are 3 of these that swim above the snailfish, night
only. They do not appear until after you re-open the CotG.
NOTES:
There is only one of these, and it swims in a circuit around
the Twin Caves entrances, slightly above them, around 465 ft [142m].
It is dangerous, and you may have to pulsar it at least once to get
into the Twin Caves. It can be found both day and night.
NOTES:
There is only one of these, and it swims in a slow circuit around
420 ft [128m]. It only appears in the daytime; at night it is
replaced by the Ocean sunfish.
NOTES:
There are two of these, and they swim in a slow circuit not
only around, but from a shallower depth to a deeper one
(from 415-510 ft [126-155m]), day and night.
One stays near the bend, the other stays in the larger, more
open area, both, though, are in the Southern Crevasse.
I could only get the cutscene that introduces you to these creatures
at night, although they CAN be found afterwards day and night.
You will NOT be able to find them until you get the cutscene.
NOTES:
There is only one of these, and it swims in a slow,
shallow-to-deep circuit, and back again, from about 255-455 ft
[78-139m], both day and night.
You will first see it as part of the main plot, and will not be able to
get its info then; when you see it swim in its circuit you can focus
on it. You may, at certain times, see it in another type of scene
again fighting with the sperm whale, and will not be able to focus
on it until you go back to the boat, then return.

===SHORE LIFE [SHL]===
This section has 34 entries, and goes from pages 43-49 (inclusive).
Some of these are found both on land and in the sea; others are
only found on land.
Most of the Weddell Sea penguins stay on land at night, but
may appear on land and in the water by day.
Most of the flying birds appear in the daytime only.
NOTES:
Water: These roam in large, loose groups scattered among other
penguins and seals, about 15-20 ft [5-6m] deep, daytime only.
Land: They stay either in one large group, or break up into several
smaller groups. They can either be the only penguin group on the
land area, or be with other types of penguins, day and night.
NOTES:
These roam in small, loose groups scattered among other penguins
and seals, very shallow waters, daytime only. They seem to not
appear on land at all, unlike most other penguins.
During not so good, and bad weather, they CAN
appear on land at D-4SE, among the other penguins there.
NOTES:
Water: These roam in small, loose groups scattered among other
penguins and seals, very shallow waters, day and night.

255. [51R-T-L] Red piranha (EU: Red-bellied piranha)*
LOCATION: Cortica River, Midstream
Co-ords: C-3S; D-3W
NOTES:
These fish are impossible to avoid when you dive at the first diving
spot; they float in large, loose groups throughout the Perilous
Waters area. There are no other kinds of fish where they swim
(Gee, I wonder WHY?!). They are dangerous until you feed each
small group, then you should be able to focus on one without a
problem. They can be found both day and night.
You also CAN try to sneak by them, if you want to. Simply feed
the first groups you come to, then head for the right bank of the
river. Make that bank your new best friend and DON'T look away
from it! Then follow the bank around until you leave the Perilous
Waters area (you'll notice caimans appearing, and that is your
indication you're safely out of the Piranhas area.) DO NOT LOOK
AWAY FROM THE RIGHT RIVERBANK AS YOU SWIM! It seems
if you can't see the piranhas, they don't bother you.
NOTES:
These swim solitarily, mixed among other fish, day and night.

257. [51R-B] Electric eel*
LOCATION: Cortica River, Midstream
Co-ords: A-1SE; B-1S
NOTES:
These swim as solitary creatures throughout the Mangrove Maze;
They are dangerous, and about the only way to get them to back off
is to continuously blow the sea whistle (and even that does not help
much). They are really hard to avoid, but swimming carefully through
the Maze helps some.
Make sure you stay away from their head; it seems this is where you
get hit from if you swim near them.

alone, or with other creatures. They share glows spots with the
rarer Spotted box crab, and you will likely get sick of seeing them
instead of the crab. There are some of these used as markers in

This special sea angel can be found with other sea angels; you will

will get slightly different text from Jean-Eric when you focus on it.
For a female diver, you get a small story about a legend about
"true love" surrounding this legendary; for a male diver, Jean-Eric
tells you he won't "bore" you with its story, but he thinks of you
as a "big brother" to Oceana.

NOTES:
You won't be able to find this legendary until you get the special
request called "The Grave Keeper" in your black book. After you do,
dive with Oceana in the Depths and go to the Twin Caves.
First go into the right cave and focus on a giant isopod, then go

Co-ords: G&H-1
NOTES:
This large, colorful sailfish swims so fast it's hard to focus on.
Just try to sit there and feed the other sailfish in the area, and
then it comes in for some food too. It is only there in the
daytime, and there are no special conditions to find it.
NOTES:
After getting the Special Request named "The Ghost of Valka
Castle", dive with Oceana at Valka Castle, at night, and follow
the cutscenes. It swims around the Mermaid's Ballroom, night only.
The special request will not appear until after the main plot.

332. [65R] Apollo*
LOCATION: Deep Hole
Co-ords: B-3NW
NOTES:
This legendary is found at night, and replaces the regular ocean
sunfish that swims in Deep Hole in the daytime. It ONLY appears
at night. There are no special conditions to fulfill to find it.

333. [66-T] Lady Dorthea (EU: Divine Gift)*
LOCATION: Ciceros Strait
Co-ords: C, D, E-1
NOTES:
This colorful large sturgeon swims near the sandy ocean floor
bottom (110 ft [34m]) in a circuitous route, daytime only. Try
to stay out of C-1, as the great white sharks hang out there.
There are no special conditions needed for this legendary.
-------------------------------------------------
334. [66-B] Golden Catfish*
LOCATION: Cortica River, Upstream
Co-ords: B-3NW
NOTES:
After you find the Servant's Ring, the Piraiba catfish in Cortica
River, Upstream "basin" in front of the Temple will want the
item. After you give it, you can leave. Upon returning later,
it has changed into this legendary. Normally, whenever you
return to the area after that, the legendary should be there.
At random times it does seem to change back into the normal
catfish it was before, though.
NOTES:
After you follow the instructions for the Special Request
called "Mysterious Object" and find this legendary, you can
see it just about anytime here in the daytime only.
-------------------------------------------------
336. [67-B] King Gigide*
LOCATION: Cortica River, Upstream
Co-ords: C-1S; D-1S; C-2N; D-2N
NOTES:
After you find the caiman relic in the Zahhab Region, and use it to
trigger King Gigide, you will be able to see him swimming around the
Temple's stone columns/pavement area, and into, then back out of,
the Sacred Chamber, both day and night.

337. [68-T] Mama Cortica*
LOCATION: Cortica River, Midstream
Co-ords: A-4NE
NOTES:
After you trigger the "Mother of Cortica" special request and find
Mama Cortica in the Queen's Lake, you can see her again in the
Lake whenever it rains, both day and night.
-------------------------------------------------
338. [68-B] Leo (EU: Arthur)*
LOCATION: Iceberg Cavern
Co-ords: B-2SE
NOTES:
You won't be able to see this legendary until you get the special
request named "Strange Animal in Antarctica" in your black book.
When you do, go to the Weddell Sea and follow the instructions.
Afterwards, Leo stays in the Iceberg Cavern, and just swims
in a leisurely fashion through most of the area, day and night.
The special request does not appear until after the main plot.

339. [69L] Snowball (EU: Snowy)*
LOCATION: Weddell Sea
Co-ords: A-4NW (land)
NOTES:
After you complete the "Fragments of Memory" quest, you will
get a special request in your book named "Research Subject".
Follow the instructions to find Snowball. Afterwards, anytime
there's a bad snowstorm, you should be able to go to the same
co-ordinates and see her again. She appears day and night.

<<< R I G H T S I D E >>>
340. [69R] Big Bobby*
LOCATION: Weddell Sea
Co-ords: A-4NW (land)
NOTES:
After part 3 of the "Help Me" quest, you can see this legendary on
land both day and night, among the other Emperor penguins. He'll
be easy to spot, as he is quite a bit larger than the other penguins.
During a snowstorm, he disappears, though, and Snowball appears.
Right after you heal him in part 3 of the "Help Me"
quest, you CAN get his info then; focus on him, then choose
to poke him, as he won't take food in a pulsared state.

341. [70] Kraken Jr.*
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: A-3SE; B-3S
NOTES:
After you re-open the Cavern of the Gods, go into the Altar of
Isis room. (This is the room where you emerge from the Secret
Passage in the Subterranean Reception Room.) Look UP, near the
ceiling. Focus on the small giant squid you see swimming around
there. You've found Kraken Jr.! Isn't he CUTE?! He is there
both day and night. Daytime he mainly swims near the door,
at night he swims through more of the room. He does NOT appear
until after you re-open the CotG.
(The location given on the map in the book does NOT account for
depth. Most people automatically search the Pillars of Shadow room;
I did, on dives for several days, to no avail. When I was on a salvage
run I just happened to look up in the Isis room, and there he was! So
hopefully you won't waste a long time looking for him like I did.)

===P A G E 7 1===
342. [71] Living Fossil (EU: Emperor)*
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: B-2SW
NOTES:
There is no special trick to finding this legendary. It swims among
the other coelacanths in the Pillars of Shadow, around a depth
of 50 ft [15m], day and night. At least I assume it's there at
night; the Goblin sharks and the Okeanos' Guardian chased me out
before I could tell if the one I was looking at was the legendary.
It's safer to go find it during the day. *Nods*
After several night trips to the CotG, I pulsared the mean ol' sharks
and went looking for this legendary. I could not find it, even after
focusing on every regular coelacanth in the room. So it appears
to only be a daytime legendary.
This will not appear until after you re-open the CotG.

343. [72] Cacao Maharaja (EU: Cocoa Maharaja)*
LOCATION: Gatama Atoll
Co-ords: E-4; D&E-5
NOTES:
After following the instructions for the Special Request called
"Floating Island", you can see this legendary in the daytime only.
However, the special request that leads to this legendary can
also be done at night.

===P A G E 7 3===
344. [73] Thanatos*
LOCATION: Ciceros Strait
Co-ords: H-6&7
NOTES:
During the main plot you are introduced to this huge, ferocious
legendary in the Triton Village Ruins. The pulsar does NO good
against him, as you quickly find out. So if you didn't manage to
dodge his dangerous attacks and get the info and trivia then,
afterwards he swims around the Emerald Lady wreck, around a
depth of 75 ft [23m]. Make sure you have a large tank with lots
of air if you do go looking for him, he takes 2 bars of air each
time he hits you!
Although you can see him swimming by the windows outside
of Valka Castle, you cannot interact with him there.
(For those with the first game: he looks just like the Magu
Tapah, doesn't he? Maybe they used that same model for him.
Although this time it's not as much fun to poke him!)
-------------------------------------------------
===P A G E 7 4===
345. [74] Black Harbinger*
LOCATION: Gatama Atoll
Co-ords: C&D-6&7
NOTES:
Buy and use the telescope out to sea in the daytime; you may
get a message about a "dark shadow" out there. Dive at Gatama
at night, and this legendary should have replaced the regular
humpback whale and calf usually swimming around in the
Spring Garden area. Afterwards, it will show up during the
New Moon phase (lasts 3 days/nights), day and night.
-------------------------------------------------
===P A G E 7 5===
346. [75] Leviathan*
LOCATION: Zahhab Region
Co-ords: F-4, 5, 6, 7
NOTES:
This legendary appears daytime only, swimming in a slow circuit
through its listed area, around a depth of 90-110 ft [27-34m].
To find him easily, go into the mouth of the Cavern of
the Sun and park there for awhile; eventually he'll swim by.

===P A G E 7 6===
347. [76] Ancient Mother (EU: White Mother)*
LOCATION: North Coast of Canada
Co-ords: B-1NE&S; C-1N; D-1W; A-2E; B-2NW; C-2NE&S; D-2N; A-3E;
B-3NE&S; C-3N&SE; D-3E; B-4N&SE; C-4NE&S; D-4N&SW
NOTES:
After the end of the main plot, you may find a whale ornament on
your island beach; it leads you to find this legendary in the Arctic
Ocean. After you see it near the Ice Mosiac area, you can find her
again, swimming in a large, slow circuitous route in the areas listed.
She usually swims around a depth of 45 ft [14m], both day and night.
Finding the whale ornament may depend on finding and clicking on
all the whales in the Marine Encyclopedia (in the dolphin/whale
section of the book).
-------------------------------------------------
===P A G E 7 7===
348. [77] Singing Dragon*
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: C-2E; C-3E
NOTES:
These are the same whales that went crazy and nearly destroyed
the Temple at the main plot's end. You can't interact with them
while they're banging their heads on the Temple supports, so you
will need to re-open the CotG to get their info. There are 3 of them
that swim around the Pillars of Light, among the Commerson's
dolphin pod, only in the daytime.
After re-playing the plot again, I have discovered that
there is one of these that enters the Celestial Mausoleum with
you; it is the one that bangs its head on the Treasure Chamber
door. You can focus on it before you trigger the mechanism in
the room's middle. Therefore you CAN get its info BEFORE the
main plot's end!
-------------------------------------------------
===P A G E 7 8===
349. [78] Okeanos's Guardian*
LOCATION: Cavern of the Gods
Co-ords: B-2SW; B-3NW
NOTES:
This really big, REALLY UGLY goblin shark goes after you
during the main plot. If you cannot get its info then, you will
have to wait until you re-open the CotG to get it. It appears
at night only in the Pillars of Shadow with the same 2 goblin
shark "guards" that were there before, in the main plot.
It is dangerous, and shakes off the pulsar effects quickly,
so you have to work fast!

351. [79] Anomalocarus*
LOCATION: Valka Castle
Co-ords: B-2NE; C-2NW
NOTES:
After you finish the 3rd part of the "Voice of the Night Sky"
quest and find this legendary outside the Underwater Gallery
window, you can dive with anyone (or go alone) and swim to
the squares listed to see it again. You cannot interact with
it, and the cutscene the first time you saw it gives you both
the info and trivia for it.
(Until you find this one, the Sea serpent is listed as page 79;
then afterwards the serpent becomes page 80.)
-------------------------------------------------
===P A G E 8 0===
350. [80] Cameroceras*
LOCATION: Zahhab Region
Co-ords: H-8
NOTES:
After you finish part 2 of the quest "Voice of the Night Sky",
you will be directed to find this legendary. After the first time
you find it, you can go back and see it again, out just beyond
the boundary of where you can go; you cannot interact with it.
(Until you find this one, the Sea serpent will be listed as page
80 after you find Anomalocarus.)

===P A G E 8 1===
352. [81] Sea serpent*
LOCATION: Ciceros Strait
Co-ords: D, E, F-8
NOTES:

After one of the parts of the "Young Entrepreneur" quest, you
get a request from Oceana to go swim out in Ciceros Strait to
find what a "dark shadow" other divers saw on their maps there.
When you find it, and get the cutscene, you get its info and trivia.
You can see this legendary out beyond the boundary if you go in
the daytime afterwards, but cannot interact with it.
(Until you find both Anomalocarus and Cameroceras, this will be
listed as page 79, then get bumped forward when you find them.)

===SECTION 2: Creatures by Area [CBA]===
This section will list the creatures by area. Each area is subdivided
into two parts: part 1 is the creatures that can only be found in
that area; part 2 are the creatures also found in another area
or areas.
For this part, it can act something like a general checklist. The
creatures here are grouped according to where they can be found.
Some creatures can be found in more than one place, so the area
listings are divided into those found only there, and those that are
also found in other areas.
A variety of abbreviations will show you when and where the creature
can be found, and if any special conditions must be met before you
may find the creature. Some abbreviations may not be used if the
creature is common enough to appear just about anywhere, at any
time, no matter the condition.

=====SECTION 3: Creature Trivia Info [CTI]=====
I have decided to add this as a separate section, instead of simply
adding it to each creature, because there are those people who want
to try to find this out for themselves before consulting a guide.
If they see how to get the trivia when they don't want to,
it might ruin the experience for them.
These entries will be listed in order of area; each area is listed
in the order they are unlocked during the main plot.
Note on the penguins: the "poke/pet" option depends on whether
you are on land or in the water when you encounter them. On land,
you will "pet" a creature if you use that option; if you are in the
water, you will "poke" the creature.
The creatures in this section will ONLY be listed in
the FIRST available area you unlock during the plot;
they are listed in alphabetical order. The legendaries
will be listed last for each area.
Those creatures with young seen in this game will be listed
as one entry, since getting the trivia from one will count
for both.
