This is my first FAQ I have ever done. I decided to do this game as my first
FAQ because it would be a good one to get to know as I wasn't really interested
in it when Brawl was around. I found that the game as a whole is a different,
yet amazing experience. It's a lot of fun when you try to accomplish every
little thing the game has to offer.

Dragon Quest: Swords is unlike any Dragon Warrior/Quest game made. I wouldn't
call it a main series game because it isn't really. It's simply a brand new
concept- A great one, mind you- which takes the ragon Quest name in order to
be recognised easier. If you aren't really a turn-based game fan, this game
might be for you!

This section is the walkthrough portion of the game. Since there isn't really
much about telling people where to go, I decided to mainly give tips on enemy
strategy, boss strategy, which path to take to get all the items, etc. I also
created item checklists which each contain all of the items that you can only
get once from chests, barrels, etc. I hope this helps!

Once you select 'Create a new adventure log.', you are prompted to name your
character and choose which handedness you prefer. After that, a little cut
scene introduces the story somewhat. Once it's over you are given a tutorial
of the games controls by a sensei-esque character by the name of 'Swordmaster
Dao'. These will help you master or at least become familiar with the controls.
If you miss a specific tutorial objective three times, Swordmaster Dao will
move on, but worry not, you will have a chance to talk to him again and nail
those moves you failed during the tutorial.

When the tutorial ends, you gain a bit of freedom. Before talking to anybody,
point and click the barrels by the two exits to get a mini-medal and a
medicinal herb. If you are still uneasy about the controls, you can talk Dao
to become familiarized. Talking to Claymore will trigger a cut scene between
him and another character. Once it's over, exit the same way Claymore does and
then out through the door in the next room. Doing this will lead to another
cut scene and once it's finished you begin Chapter One.

This chapter begins with Claymore waking you with kaboom spell and you quickly
learn that it's your sixteenth birthday. You are told that you should go see
the queen, but don't be so hasty and check out your surroundings!

If you aren't very confident, you may want to take note of the 'Strongbox'
located in your house- It's a money-storage which you can use so you don't lose
any money after losing a battle. Since there isn't anything else worthwile
in your house, head outside and pick up the medicinal herb in the barrel in
front of your house. On your map you will notice a red-marked path. This shows
you where you need to go to progress the game and I recommend that you obtain
the few pick ups to get them out of the way. Head left and pick up the 8 gold
coins stashed in a barrel behind the item shop and then head up the north west
stairs. You will come to a Church where you can save or check experience needed
until the next level-up. Instead of going inside, follow th post-mark path that
leads behind it. At the end of this path will be a chest containing
Replenishield Powder. Next, head left and up the bridge and look in the barrels
to find a pair of Boxer Shorts. Head to the east end of town where the pub is
located and open up the barrels outside of it to obtain 30 gold coins. Now
that you have everything, head up the stairs and enter the dojo.

Once you enter, proceed to the room where Colonel Cutlass is and talk to hime
to go on. You learn that your goal on this 'Walk of the Worthy' is to go to
enter Caliburth Cave and reach the innermost chamber, the Worth of Worth, so
once the talk is over, head outside.

You'll notice that some shops are now open, so it may be a good idea to buy
some items with the little money that you have. Picking up an Antidotal Herb or
two will prove to be useful. You should be safe not buying any armour or
weapons. Once you are done shopping, save your game and head out!

This is the first you have actually been out in the field, so you may not know
a few key things. For one, look out for any patches of grass, rocks or chests
that look out of place. You can score some great items and mini-medals from
these so be on the look out!

You can proceed forth and prepare for your first battle! Enemies are pretty
easy in this area and do little damage. Mischievous Moles will toss dirt on
your screen which can be easily blocked, but even then they won't harm you mu
if you act with an all-out attack. Winkys can be difficult if you let them
be. When they turn red, make sure to block them quickly.

Fight your way to the cave where you will meet one of the escorts. He gives
you a nice package of items and lets you pass.

Once you enter Caliburn Cave, you will notice a couple new enemies; One being
Dracky and the other being Bubble Slime. Drackys are similar to Slimes, but
they fly in multiple different formations. The enemy that will cause you a lot
of trouble is Bubble Slime. These things will fire projectiles at you and their
attacks poison you at a high rate, so make sure to block the projectiles and
save your attacks for when nothing is being launched at you. You should vertic
slice Bubble Slimes for best results. Deeper in the cave are Bodkin Archers,
will give you an opportunity to reflect their projectiles. This takes a bit of
practice, just remember to lock-on to to point where the projectile is going to
hit. Bodkin Archers give out great experience and you can only kill them by
reflecting so get them before they run off!

After a while in the cave, you will come to your first crossroad! You get to
choose to go left or right. Since left is pointless at this time, head right.
Fight your way to the end of the right path and you will come to a door. Heal
up and get ready to fight the first boss - Sir Dirk Worthington!

BOSS : SIR DIRK WORTHINGTON

This battle is pretty easy. All it takes is blocking his attacks and then
getting him a bunch when he is stunned. Once he becomes angry he will add
a new attack which will be a bit quicker.

When he is defeated, you will be presented with a score screen. Remember that
you can always replay stages to best your performance if you choose to do so.

-(W20) CHAPTER TWO - Doubt
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-----------------------------------
(W21) Avalonia
-----------------------------------
When you start Chapter Two, you are told by a guard that your shield will be
repaired whenever you get back to town-What a relief! Let's see what new things
Avalonia has to offer before proceeding.
You'll see that the town now has more people in it. It will continue to grow
as you coomplete more chapters. I recommend talking to people just to feel
like you're part of the town.
One thing you should notice is that the item shop now gives you the option to
play on the "Tombola". The Tombola is a lottery-like game which has you spin
the Tombola as fast as you can and hope that you land on a good prize. The
faster you spin, the better your odss will be of earning a prize. To earn more
chances to play, just shop more at the various stores and come back here when
you have more Tombola tickets. The full list of prizes is listed in the (MIN)
section.
Head to Stilleto's Parlour (Stilletto is that tough guy with the pink-horned
mask on) to try a couple more mini-games; Dart Attack and Slime Crisis. Both
are unusually addicting and scoring S-Ranks or A-Ranks in any of the games will
earn you a prize. Each game has diferrent modes and difficulties so be sure to
do your best with them all to get some great rewards. See the (MIN) section to
see the requirements and earnable prizes.
Next, if you haven't already, check out the mini-medal shop located down the
stairs across the bridge which is beside the entrance to the dojo. Here you
can exchange mini-medals for prizes if you have enough.
Once you are done with everything, go to the castle and speak to Minister
Misericord to continue the story. You are told that you are usually
congratulated by the queen herself, but she is still gone, so Misercord
presents you with a speech instead. What you should learn from this is that
your next goal is to find Prince Anlace who also seems to be missing.
Return to your house and you will initiate a conversation between you and your
father, Claymore. Claymore is informed about the Queen' absence and you are
interrupted by a knock at the door...It's Prince Anlace! He comes bearing a
trouble about his mother, the Queen. Anlace informs you that his mother has
headed to Galantyne Glave and he wishes that Claymore would escort him to
Galantyne, but Claymore refuses and Anlace quickly makes his exit. Claymore
volunteers you to go and assist Anlace yourself, so this leaves you to speak
with Anlace. Once you head outside, you will notice that he is straight ahead
by the fountain.
Prince Anlace Joins the Party!
Before you proceed, buy some of the armour items which you couldn't afford
before. Once you are done buying all the equipment and items you need, head
to the front gate and speak with the guard to begin the second stage.
(W22) STAGE : Galantyne Glades
Description: A dark and foreboding forest with a restorative hot-spring hidden
            in its dankest depths.
You are introduced with a tutorial concerning companions. This is handy if you
wish to make full use of your companions. Using left and right on the control
pad you can quickly access your companions abilities, make sure to make full
use of Anlace's Heal and Sizz abilities!
First two things you will notice in battle are a new enemy-Funghoul -and the
fact that multiple Bodkins will fire at you at the same time. Funghouls are
easy if taken care of quickly. If you are bothered by multiple Funghouls at
a time, use Anlace's Sizz to show them who is boss! As for the multiple
Bodkin Archers, simply slash in a line that will hit them both at once.
A few battles in you will be reacquainted with Drackys and be introduced to a
new enemy- Walking Corpse. These guys are tricky, and will often pop up in
front of the screen. Wait for their poisonous attack and block it then slash
away.
You'll eventually come to another crossroad and once again, the left path will
only bring you to a dead end and a rock. Worry about this later and head right.
Next enemy you will run into is Drackmage. These "Green Drackys" cast a fast
diminishield spell which will shrink your shield for a period of time. If you
aren't too good at reflecting projectiles, stick to blocking it with your
shield.
When you get to a dead end, you will enter a battle with it. Just slash away
to smash your way through. Once you get through and walk a bit, a stronger
enemy named 'Orc' will approach you. I would suggest waiting to block his
attacks and then quickly slashing away. He should go down after 4-6 slashes.
The next enemy you will see in battle is a Heal Slime. They will heal their
allies and it may become frustrating if you can take down an Orc because these
things are healing it, so take down the Heal Slimes first to save yourself the
hassle.
For the next split in the path head right first this time. Left moves on in
the level and right leads to some treasure. Before you get to the treasure at
the end of the right path, you will run into some interesting Slime formations
and two Slime Knights. Slime Knights are pretty similar to any enemy with a
shield. Just guard and quickly attack. Once you get the 120 gold coins and the
mini-medal, it will send you back to the split in the path. Go Left.
You will soon come to a glade. Anlace will step forward and explain the
situation. He senses that his mother has walked this same path recently and his
lecture is interrupted by a rumbling...
BOSS : BRIQUET
This boss is a bit more interesting than the previous. He mainly uses two
attacks; One where he puts his hands together and swings with a hammer-like
motion and the other where he brings one arm back and swings at a corner.
For the hammer-like attack, just guard slightly below the middle of the screen.
For the other, watch which arm he is using and if it is raised or lowered so
you can accurately determine which corner he is aiming at.
After blocking his attacks, he will undergo some knockback. When this happens,
slash away. You have few opportunities, so make them count. If Anlace has MP
left, make sure not to waste Sizz here, save any MP for Anlace to Auto Heal.
After you diminish half of his life, he will get angry and attack much faster.
Up your game and be sure to think one step ahead to block every attack.
If you feel the need to, use the replenishield that you picked up earlier if
you haven't already. This will restore your shield and make blocking easier.
Remember to use healing items if need be, as well. You should still have a lot
which will carry you through this battle with ease.
Be sure that you use you Master Stroke. It will save you 8-10 attacks! Once
you defeat him, he may drop Iron Ore
Good Luck!
You will then be taken to a hut and while Anlace is explaining that you must
approach with caution, the door opens. You hide and someone comes out, who
could it be??
..It's the Queen, but something is really strange. She walks off into the
without saying a word. It is assumed by Anlace that the mask that the Queen is
wearing is what's causing her unusual behaviour. Then, a mysterious punky
French girl makes here presence known. You learn that her name is Fleurette.
After Anlace and The Hero leave, Fleurette talks to herself about the mask the
Queen was wearing and how she saw it as a child. After her Soliloquy, you are
prompted to save and Chapter Three begins.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-(W30) CHAPTER THREE - The Mask
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-----------------------------------
(W31) Avalonia
-----------------------------------
You begin this chapter alone, talking to the gaurd who is wondering why Anlace
is not with you. He soon remembers that he cam back alone a while ago in a
terrible hurry. You also learn that Fleurette is back in town. As you have
learned before, check out the town before rushing forward in the game!
First go to the item shop and stock up on anything that has diminished from the
previous quest. You should have a good chunk of money by now, so don't be
afraid to spend a bit on the essentials. There are two new items now in stock,
check those out as well.
Next it would be best to temper your sword now that you have more gold. Getting
better armour is a good idea, too. Go ahead and play some more mini-games at
Stiletto's Parlour and use up as all of your Tombola tickets. Buying the Iron
Shield is a pretty good idea as well.
When you are ready enough to continue, return to your house to find Claymore
and Fleurette who both seem to be waiting for you. She quickly requests you to
assist her on her way to Mount Arondight. After that she will tell you that she
will be visiting the church and she wants to meet you there. She then walks out
and Claymore cut in with a drunk comment.
Finish up whatever you need to in town and head to the church where you will
meet with Fleurette where she will tell you a bit about her past before
informing ou that she must find out the truth about the mask for herself. She
then explains that she must go to Mount Arondight and find the place where the
mask once was. Soon enough she will ask for your name, refuse to tell her and
she will keep ovffering different names to call you. Once she has been through
them all, they will cycle again. Pick the one you like best! After you choose
one...
Fleurette Joins the Party!
She then tells you to meet her outside. I recommend saving if you have lots of
gold, so save and then head out to the gates ans speak with the guard.
-----------------------------------
(W32) STAGE : Arondight Heights
Description: An altitudinous region from the highest point of which a carved
            relief of the Deathbringer can be seen.
First new enemy you will approach in this area is the Mad Mole. This guy is a
bit stronger than the previously seen Mischievous Mole. Just block each ones
sand-attacks and then block their physical attack. When they have all made
their moves, attack the group of them at once if possible.
Next new enemy is one of the easier ones- Firespirit. All it takes to kill one
of these is most likely a single hit, but if you wait too long they will back
off and use a fire spell or flee. Get rid of them quickly for some easy
experience.
The third battle down the road contains Rockbombs. These enemies will roll at
at you and you can either block or slash away. They can be useful for killing
distant enemies as an on-screen tutorial explains. Simply stab them instead
of your usual slash-crazy strategy.
After the first Rockbomb battle, you'll eventually come to a crossroad. Go
right as it's this crossroads treasure/dead end path. You'll meet one new enemy
on the right path- Chimaera- It's the duck worm with wings! These guys fire
fire-elemented projectiles at you. Destroy them before they destroy the bridge
or the treasure at the end won't be obtainable this run as the bridge would
collapse! When you obtain the Yggdrasil Leaf at the end, go forward slightly to
return to the junction and then go left.
The left path eventually leads to a raft, but before you make it there, you
will come across two new enemies; Anchorman and Hell Hornet. Anchorman will
stand back and dive at you. Once they have all attacked, just side-slash and
you will hit them since they take up most of the height of the screen. As for
Hornets, hit them as soon as possible or you will get attacked by several of
them at once and they're a real pain. The require some accuracy since they are
so small.
Eventually, you will make it to the raft. Once you do, hop and and let it carry
you from battle to battle. Just attack the enemies when they are close enough
and you should be fine.  Soon enough you will plunge off of the waterfall and
be on foot again. Proceed.
The next enemy you will encounter soon after land is a tough one. It's name is
Abominape. Watch it's feet when it lunges forward. You will recognise that the
attacking jump has more dust around it. Block this one. On any other jump, just
attack. First time I encountered these things, I was killed.
After that battle, another junction will be found. This one being the first one
to contain three different directional choices. The left one is obviously one
of those pesky rocks, so ignore that one for now. Go Right and fight your way
through a bunch of Hell Hornets and Firespirits to obtain a couple lucky bags
at the end and return to the junction and go straight.
Soon enough after crossing over a bridge and entering a cave, you will come to
a battle with three Abominapes. Before this gets too difficult, slash like
crazy at the three of them and then kill the two Heal Slimes. In the same
battle, you will fight a King Slime. Don't be afraid of his size-he's still a
slime. Simply block when he changes his movement pattern and slash when he is
idle. After this battle, heal up and get ready for what is at the exit of the
cave...
Once you exit, Fleurette explains that you have arrived at the place where she
saw the mask, though she quickly explains that she it was on he mountain in the
distance and she is interrupted by a gust. What could it be?
BOSS : ENVOY OF XIPHOS
Let's start with his main attacks. The first one won't leave an opening after
you block it. He brings an arm back like the previous boss and thrusts. Like I
said, this one doesn't leave a good opening for attack.
The other one is a bit more berserk. He lights his hands with fire and attacks
multiple areas of the screen ready your shield and block the attacks until he
unleashes the last hammer-like one. After he uses that one, attack him.
Another attack which he will use is one where he flies into the sky and brings
back a couple Rockbombs. I'm sure you know what to do- Attack them normally or
send them backwards into the boss using a stab. He may also bring down Orc's
which are more tedious, but he doesn't attack too often when the enemies are
brought down, so it's okay.
When he drops to half HP he will act like the other bosses. He will now attack
faster and become a lot less forgiving. He will now bring down more enemies
than he ever did before. Jut follow the same steps and you should be fine.
He will gain a new attack which will allow him to fire really powerful
projectiles. I wouldn't recommend trying to reflect these unless you can afford
taking the risk. Each reflected projectile deals 7 damage to him, but 20+ to
you, depending on your defense, so just block these for now.
Make sure to use your Master Strokes! If you were willing to temper your sword
earlier, you will have the Multistrike Master Stroke. It isn't much stronger
from the initial Master Stroke, but it can potentially damage him more, so
use it if you can. Defeating him will earn you a Thunderball as a reward.
Good Luck!
Once the score screen has departed, Fleurette once again insit that the mask
was "over there". She runs to point out where the mask used to be, but you
can't see it anymore! Voila, sunshine appears to reveal the carving on the
mountain side. The carving is of three soldier-like men apparently fighting
something. It is assumed by Fleurette that the thing in the carving is the
Deathbringer, Xiphos. Fleurette explains that Xiphos attacked humanity long ago
and it was the ones who defeated him who carved the scene.
WHAT'S THIS? The Mask that Xiphos is wearing in the carving is just like the
one the Queen is wearing, what could this mean?
After the cut scene, you are prompted to save once again.
-(W40) CHAPTER FOUR - Torment
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-----------------------------------
(W41) Avalonia
-----------------------------------
Once again, you begin a chapter in the midst of a conversation, this time with
Fleurette. She insists that you and her inform the people of the castle about
the queen and the mask. She says that she will see you there later and says her
goodbyes.

Before going there, restock your items as usual and get stronger armour with
all of the new gold you acquired last chapter. I recommend getting the Iron
Armour and if you can, get the Iron Helmet, too.

If you've been following the Item checklists that I have created for each
stage, you should have a Ruby of Protection in your bag. Equip that accessory
to have your shields durability upped by one.

If need be, you can sell all of the armour/accesories that you don't need if
you want to get the best armour possible. For the sake of this guide, I kept
all items so it would be easier to compose certain parts of it.

As always, play some more mini-games and play the Tombola for some easy items.

When you are all done with the town portion of this chapter, head to the castle
and talk to Colonel Cutlass to activate a cut scene. As Cutlass is explaining
the situation a random guard barges in saying that a fearsome beast has been
spotted in the waters to the east. Just as Colonel is order the guard to
dispatch troops to take down the beast, Claymore steps in saying that he will
go instead! And of course, you'll go too...

Claymore Joins the Party!

As usual, the guest, being Claymore this time, has you meet them at the front
gates. So save your game, do any last-minute preparations and be on your way.
If need be, revisit some of the old stages to up your rank and become stronger
and richer.

(W42) STAGE : Secace Seacove

Upon entering, Claymore points out that this is the cove where they saw the
beast. And the quest to find the monster begins with you floating into the cove
on a boat.

A yellow Dracky called Drackma is a new sight. Just a stronger, tougher Dracky.
Like other Drackys, they will occassionally float up and attack the screen,
so beware of that. They also have the ability to heal.

Next enemy found is a Man 'o' War. Multiple amounts of them will float up, but
only one will roll backwards, block his electrically charged attack and slash.

Near the end of your boat journey, you will encounter a green Merman. They
launch a fire spell before diving underwater and appearing closer and open
to attacks.

Shortly after you hit land, you will reach yet another three-way junction.
Right leads you straght into one of those unpenetrable rocks, while both left
and straight take you to the same spot. Choose whichever and when you reach the
end of one, back track and go down the other, or wait until you play the level
again.

LEFT:
Going left will have you fighting the enemies that you saw when you were on the
boat. You will also come to two chests. Choose the right one and get a Mini-
Medal, choose the wrong one and you will fight a Cannibox. These things are
really easy. Just block and attack, the only thing is that they have loads of
HP and great defence so use a Master Stroke if you are impatient.

STRAIGHT:
Straight introduces you to two new enemies; Imp and Liquid Metal Slime. Imps
will fool around by jumping on screen and then of and eventually attacking.
They're easy but if you hit and then miss, they will attack instantly, so
make sure you land each hit. Liquid Metal Slimes are like Bubble Slime, so
treat them the same. They'll easily flee if you don't kill them fast enough
so try out some strong abilities.

And at the end of this junction- another junction! Go right since left is
ANOTHER one of those rocks (I bet you can't wait until you can break them!)
After you get through the cave, there will be a new enemy- Restless Armour.
Unlike Sir Dirk Worthington who appears to be the same, you have to attack them
before the get a chance to- when they raise their sword.

As you may have seen while approaching it, right at the next junction leads to
a rock, and it's hard to tell what are beyond the other two. Go straight first
as it leads to chest and ends up in the same spot as left does, anyway.

If you never even went left, then the firt time seeing the Bodkin Bowyer would
be now. They are trickier in the sense that the do a back flip and then launch
two arrows consecutively. Block the first one and reflect the second.

And just when you thought there wasn't any more enemies, out comes a
Hacksaurus. Blocking their flame attack is slightly difficult, but should be
easy to get used to. Once you think there is an opening, attack!

Slightly after a few battles with slimes only you enter a cutscene where you
and Claymore confront the beast. It's quite creepy and is indeed wearing the
necklace previously mentioned. Woah, here he comes!

BOSS : FISHY MONSTER

Yes that's actually his name. He is a lot harder to hit than any of the
previous bosses. And to make it worse, he can poison you. Let's hope you
brought along enough Antidotal Herbs and healing items.

Reflecting projectiles is one way get him. One attack he will launch a
projectile, launch another projectile and then kick attack. The best method
for this one would be; Guard, Reflect, Guard. Another attack he will launch
two projectiles simultaneously. For this, lock on in between and reflect them
both. If you're really good at reflecting, just reflect anything you see.

He is open to attack once in a while, so attack him when you can to see if he
is and indentify how he became vulnerable.

When he jumps backwards into the water, he is about to unleash either some
Merman or some Man 'o' War. Be ready for both.

When you get him down to half HP he of course gets quicker and stronger.
Alongside that he will get two new attacks. One where he holds his arms up in
the air and makes a "Spirit Bomb" and launches it at you. The Hit Point will
only flash and be gone so pay attention. He also gains a punch to assist his
kicks.

When you pick up his attack patterns, you will realise that he's an easy boss,
but just takes a while. Master Strokes speed up the process tremendously.
Once he is defeated, you will obtain an ice crystal.

A cut scene now takes place. Claymore readies his sword to finish off the beast
but Fleurette along with Anlace appear and stop him. The reasoning? This fishy
monster is actually...

..Fleurette's brother! Which explains the necklace around his neck. After
a brother-sister moment, he rushes off into the water, but his necklace is left
behind. The conversation eventually makes it's way back to the mask and how
it's the cause of this. You are then prompted to save.

-(W50) CHAPTER FIVE - The Tower
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-----------------------------------
(W51) Avalonia
-----------------------------------
You begin this chapter being welcomed home by the guard. "Prince Anlace and
your father just rushed past on their way to the castle. Has something
happened?", the guard asks. So I guess this means you are going to the castle,
but of course do the usual checking out the changes.
Most important things first- The Travelling Merchant. He is located on the path
way coming from the gates and is in sight as soon as you start the chapter.
The wares which he deals with change from time-to-time, so it's hard to
determine what he will have and when without extensive research so just
experiment yourself. Search for the (SHP) to see all the possible items he may
have that I've come across.
Next, you should temper your sword into it's third stage and second if you
haven't already- assuming you have the materials to do it. I first chose the
Frost Blade because it was stronger, maybe pick the element that represents
you!
Hmmm...Now that you shoul have a fair amount of Mini-Medals, go to the
Mini-Medal shop and buy a Boulderdasher-It allows you to break those
impenetrable rocks you've been encountering time after time. If you want, buy
the Astraea' Abacus to get more gold from battles!
When you are done everything you want to do, head to the castle to meet with
your three companions. Talk to the Minister again to trigger the next sequence
of events. You learn that the queen has ventured into the Tower of Mirrors- a
place where she would refuse to go in the past. The Minister soon finds a
button to open a door to the entrance of the tower. It's now up to you when you
want to enter the tower. I suggest saving and visiting past levels to train and
break those impenetrable boulders if you bought the Boulderdasher.. (refer to
(SI1) for Boulderdash locations/rewards).
After you enter and go up the spiral stairs a bit, you encounter your first
enemy of this area. It's a bunch of Lost Souls- They're stronger and faster
firespirits as you may have guess from their appearance. Nail them before they
back off and attack.
Next battle contains a new enemy called Phantom Fencer. If you block them after
they attack and then attack them yourself, they're pretty easy, but when there
are two of them, doing that isn't so easy. You have two options. You can have
your companion cast magic on them and get rid of them that way, or horizontally
slash them both when they raise their swords- Doing this will stun them for
a moment which is when you can finish them off.
You'll come across the first of three Mimic-meeting opportunities. Pick the
left chest to stay away from the mimic which is a buffed up Cannibox.
Next thing you will run into is a Shadow. They're really easy, just slash them
pretty much whenever. They will, however, vanish in between their movements, so
keep track of them and kill them before they deal around 20 damage to you.
Next battle will be full of yet another type of Dracky. This one I don't have
a name for so we will call it "Red Dracky". They're just like the previous type
of Dracky, but the will constantly rotate in their group. They take a few hits
to take down.
You will soon enough come to a junction, but before you get to choose a path,
you meet another enemy. It a somewhat unpredictable skeleton on a horse and
it's name is Bone Baron. Simply follow the block/aatack strategy.
Now about the junction. You can't go straight because the stairs are collapsed,
so take a left and it will take you to another split in the path. Both paths
lead you the same way, except the right path contains a Liquid Metal Bubble
Slime. So go that way!
As you scale across the wall, you will come across an upgraded Chimaera called
Hocus Chimaera. His attacks are now really potent and he will fire two- One
after the other. He also has a new flamethrower attack that's reminiscent of
Hacksaurus' block all points. Reflect his attacks for victory.
When you get to the top of the elevator at the end, you will soon come to two
new enemies. The first being a Stone Golem- He fights the same as the Briquet
boss so adopt the same fighting style for him. Then, you will fight a green
Imp called Minidemon. Same guy as before, just buffed. Don't miss killing the
Liquid Bubble Slime with your Master Stroke either, that's a lot of EXP!
When you get to the end of the path, you will read a message on a door and then
be turned around, head back down the elevator. When you land, you will be
confronted with another junction. Go left and eventually come to a choice of
of three chests.
Go straight and you will come to another elevator. This one will lead you up
to an unusual cutscene. You see the queen chanting "Ssen-krad-fo-noi-tcel-fer"
which backwards reads "Reflection of Darkness". The mirror then turns into a
moving void and the queen floats backwards in-front of it. After the companions
say their piece, you get to cut the mask and it falls to the ground in two
pieces, revealing the queens face. Then..
Xiphos appears beyond the mirror. He reveals that he wasn't dead, just resting
in Queen Curtana and Aruval. He shoots off into the sky and the Queen falls to
the ground. She then gets up and finally speaks. She reveals that the mask does
not belong to Xiphos, but it is to fight against him. Fleurette comes to the
conclusion that the scribe was of the warriors forcing the mask onto his face.
Then an obnoxious beast appears...
BOSS : GROBMESSER
First things that you will notice are that he has imps alongside him to help
in battle. Focus on him since the Imps always come back. when killed. Another
bad thing about these imps is that they will often heal him, so have your
partner cast a magic spell or two to kill them while they heal him.
He will leave himself open to attacks after performing his side-slash attack.
Block all the points and then attack him.
Another attack he will use is a simple thrust. Block this and wait for the
previously mentioned attack to find an opening.
Keep an eye out for any projectiles sent at you from the annoying imps in the
background and he will launch a projectile at you himself when he jumps
backwards.
When you get him below 50% HP, he will undergo the usual buff as well as get a
new attack which allows him to use multiple thrusting attacks in a row. He
will also launch multiple projectiles when he jumps back, so be prepared.
When he is defeated, he will drop a lava lump and after the score screen
vanishes, you will be back into cut-scene mode. They plan to return to castle
and formulate a plan, but then they are interrupted by a quake which seems
to be effecting more than just them. The screen switches to outside, where
a giant lava spire is erecting from the land. You are then prompted to save.
-(W60) CHAPTER SIX - Reflection
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-----------------------------------
(W61) Avalonia
-----------------------------------
Thi chapter begins with you face-to-face with the Queen. "Scouts report that a
mountain near Mount Arondight has collapsed into a sea of lava", Anlace says,
"And that a portentous castle has risen up in its midst". After some chatting
about Xiphos' invulnerability, the two halves of the mask begin to shine. Dao
enters and explains how the mask is the only weapon in existence that can
subdue the Deathbringer. To fix the mask, the group decides to head into the
mirror world and see if anyone knows anything about the mask. The queen gives
you the broken mask and says that the door to the mirror world is at the Tower
of Mirrors.

Take your time to prepare. Leave the castle and see if anything new is
available for your enjoyment. I'll admit that there isn't much, but you can
always play more mini games, buy, sell, temper and get stronger. When you are
done playing around, return to the castle once again. Talk to the Minister.

-----------------------------------
(W62) STAGE : THE MIRROR WORLD

Description: A realm whose entrance lies at the top of the tTower of Mirrors.

Once you select your companion and the name of the stage is introduced, you
begin the stage by flying through a worm hole. Enemies will encounter you along
this trip. Most enemies will fly at you, you can block them or kill them. I
recommend trying to kill them because it's really eay experience.

At a certain point, Metal Slimes will come one after another and can kill you
quite easily. I suggest just blocking the whole lot. After the Metal Slime
barrage, you land and a cut scene begins.

Anlace explains that they have arrived at the destination, but all that is
there is a statue. The statues eyes light up and it starts to speak, but
it's hard to understand. He announces that his name is Draug, guardian of the
mirror world. It attacks.

BOSS : DRAUG

He starts of using two attacks; A punch and a stomp. For the stomp, guard the
lower end of the screen in front of whatever foot he is using. When he punches,
he will attack left or right. Guard whichever side he punches, but don't attack
back. Wait for him to release a barrage of punches and then get him right after
he is done. He will hold his arm back longer before he begins the faster-paced
punches, so be ready for those.

When he powers up, three things become noticeable; He combines his punches and
stomps, he shoots reflectable blue orbs, and enemies fly in from the sides.
Reflect the orbs to do some okay damage and guard the enemies.

He will occassionally take your companion for a little bit, just attack him and
the enemies flying at you and he will eventually let them go.

Overall an easy boss. Once he is defeated, he will drop a Lucky Bag. And
a cut scene takes place.

Draug pays respect to them since they defeated him and he is willing to assist
them as well. He explains how it is his duty to repair the mask that can
imprison Xiphos. The mask floats out of Hero's hands and into Draug's. It
becomes one and floats back to Hero. Draug also presents Hero with a sword.
The Rednusadner.

-(W70) CHAPTER SEVEN - The Parting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-----------------------------------
(W71) Avalonia
-----------------------------------
The Hero and his companions return to the castle and converse with the Queen.
The Queen suggests that Swordmaster Dao may be able to give you knowledge of
the Rednusadner's power. Which leaves you to go see him yourself.
BUT FIRST...
-Temper your sword
-Play Minigames
-Stock up on the essential items
And also check the Travellin' Merchant who just double his stock. If you have
been hoarding gold from revisiting levels, now is the chance to talk to him and
get as powerful as you can since the next stage is the hardest yet!
Once you are finished, save and go talk to Swordmaster Dao. First, you must
equip yourself with the Rednusadner or he will not train you. The technique
that the blade conceals is "Figure of Fate". He then takes you into a quick
battle where you are automatically using a Master Stroke. For this one, create
a horizontal figure-8 with your wiimote and then slash when it tells you to.
When you have successfully used it, you will learn it. Dao then declares that
you are ready to cut a path to the domain of the evil one. He then tells you
that "A wise son shares what he has learnt with his father", so return home.
Once home, speak with Claymore. He lets you know that you can get to the sea of
lava by going through Galantyne Glades. When you are ready, go to the gates
and select Galantyne Glades.
Once you are in, fight your way along as usual and you will eventually come to
a guard and he tells you to take the right path. Take the right path and you
will eventually come to a cut scene. Soon after the cut scene starts, you will
be prompted to use the master stroke that Dao taught you. Once used, another
cutscene will begin. Once it's over, you can select Red Sea from the map.
The first enemy you will fight is a Dancing Flame. They can be annoying if you
aren't strong enough. The moving to the background and cartwheel around a
couple times and will only be open to attacks for 1-2 seconds. If you aren't
strong enough, two attacks won't do the trick and they will attack you with
a circular fire-breath. Block all points and wait for another cartwheel. If
you can't hit them or want them dead faster, use magic.
Next new enemy (Not really) is a buffed Anchorman. Wait for them all to attack
and then attack them back. They'll die soon enough.
Soon enough you will meet a Peeper (A new and improved Winky). He will turn
metal, so guard all of his attacks while he is metal and then attack him when
he is back to red.
After the Peeper battle, you will come to a choice of two chests. Choose the
right box to obtain a ??? and avoid fighting a Mimic.
After the chests will come the Muddy Hand enemy. They're pretty easy and fun.
Guard against the one or two that raise their hands and then horizontally
slash for some easy killing and experience.
As the past has proven, you will fight new enemy after new enemy. The next
one you will fight is a King Orc. They have a lot more HP, Atk, and Def than
the simple Orcs. They will also jump into the background and attack somewhere
on the screen. Be prepared to block.
Just past the smashable rock is a chest containing a Gold Bar (really useful
for Tempering some of the later weapons). Don't miss it as it is semi-
camouflage on some TV screens. And soon after, you will arrive at another
choice of two boxes. The right is the Mimic this time and the left is a
Yggdrasil Leaf.
When you arrive at the junction, go straight. Don't even bother to go left as
there is nothing. The straight path contains a chest containing Replenishield
Powder.
A few new enemies who are the same as past enemies, just stronger that you will
see are; Red Rockbomb, Cureslime and Toxic Zombie.
Once you are past either junction path, you will come to another choice of
boxes. Choose right this time to obtain a ??? and avoid the mimic.
The final new enemy of this area are the Tyrantosaurus. They have undergone
an extreme buff and can deal 200+ HP of damage in one set of attacks if you
aren't careful.
After a string of a few more battles, you will run into a Troll. Run into him
for a cutscene. His voice is the funniest thing ever. Enjoy it before having to
fight him.
BOSS : GOLOK THE GATEKEEPER
He will start off doing four different attacks. Two of them involving his club,
and two involving deflectable rocks and rockbombs.
Be quick after you block his attacks, he leaves little time for you to respond.
If he is in the back, his attack will be a lunge which is the same as a normal
attack.
Sometime in the battle, he will bring forth a rock. If hits it up, you know he
will hit it at you when it comes down. If he holds it in his hand for a little,
it will be a rockbomb. If you don't kill it with the deflection, it will come
to the front row, so kill it quickly then.
Once he reaches his breaking point at 50% he will get stronger along with
adding in two final attacks. He charges up and attacks two points at once, so
hold your shield vertically and cover them both. The other one has him bringing
down three rocks which will slowly get closer and then hit one point on the
screen. Block or you WILL suffer the consequences.
And that's all there is to him, once he is defeated you will get a thunderball.
When the score screen is dismissed, you are presented with a cut scene.
The first thing you should do is Temper any of your swords to a
Wrath of [Boreas, Zeus, Helios]. This requires a bit of gold and the proper
materials, so revisit past stages and do this. It will give you a huge edge on
the final battle.
Along with that, buy any of the strongest armour you can afford. You'll need
a lot of gold to become the best you can be, so save that for post-chapter 8.
Once you are ready, take the gate guard and select Deathbringer's Citadel....
|________________________________|
You start at the base of a statue of your enemy, good luck!
First new enemy that you'll see is an Invisible Swordsman. These guys are just
like the green ones except they'll mix in a pinkish magic sword attack that
won't allow you to stun them. Simply block it and attack after.
Ready for an annoyance? Well you'll find Venom Wasps to be just that. I like
to just use magic on the whole group of them so I don't have to lower my
hit percentage and get poisoned at the same time. Just one hit, should do
but it'shard getting them all before you get hit.
You just met Muddy Hand last time and now you will see the same guy but
buffed in speed and attack power Easy enemy and great opportunty for EXP.
When you get to the split, take the right path to get to the dead end/ chest.
You'll eventually run into a Belial-
he as a normal attack that is pretty easy to block so use that as your
chance to land some blows. Be prepared to block multiple projectiles.
Once you get the chest containing the lucky bag, return to the junction and
take the other path.
You'll meet a familiar foe- now with the ability to shoot two arrows at the
same time. This guy is a Bodkin Fletcher. To not take any damage, simple slash
in a manner that will hit both at the same time. Easy!
Another junction, another decision. Take the right path once again and meet
with a new enemy called Boss Troll. Reflecting his projectiles are fun, just
horizontally or vertically slash the no-target zone. When he comes close,
attack him to try to deal damage. He does a lot of fake-outs so just keep
attacking and nailing the weak spots. Once you get the Lucky Bag at the end
return and go left.
All out of new enemies, you ask? Nah, just a few more. After going left,
you will find a Pink Pongo. They use similar tricks as it's previous forms,
but killing them requires better timing.
When you reach the first choice of chests on this level, pick the right chest
to pick up the item and the left to fight the final version of the mimics.
Return and go right. You will soon come to a choice of chests- this time, the
left one is the item. Then you will encounter a King Cure Slime. This things
fully heal everyone, but try to take out the little enemies first and then
the King Cure Slime.
At the end of the path, your character will jump onto the platform shown in
the little clip previously. Once it's finished, your reflection skills will
be tested against the eye on the statue. This is a bit difficult if you don't
have any items. Keep your hopes up and block any that are in a hard direction
for you to hit. Once finished, move forward the slightest bit to reveal to
path into the mouth.
Once you enter, you will fight Gigantes, who is the hardest non-boss in the
game. a lot of his multi-point hit attacks attack one and then the other. Watch
him to predict which will be first and then block them both in succession. In
order to open him up, you will need to block all points.
Once you get to the pedestal at the end, you will float up and have to endure
a few more fights before..
BOSS : XIPHOS THE DEATHBRINGER
This one is pretty easy, actually. Simply guard his attacks and then attack
after and try to find a weak spot.
When he moves to the back, he will throw pieces on stone at you. Simply guard
these.
When he reaches his breaking point, the amount of items he can throw will grow
to five. He will also gain a new attack where he will launch multiple
reflectable projectiles at you. If you are good with these, use them to drain
his life and deal the finishing blow... but is it over?
FINAL BOSS : XIPHOS THE DEATHBRINGER (True form)
Once he is defeated, you will earn a chunk of Orichalcum.
Once that is over, a cut scene will come showing the final good-bye to Xiphos.
The mask zips out of the hero's hand and onto Xiphos' face. It turns him to
stone. Deal the deathblow, show him no mercy.
He is finally dead!
After a nice little cut scene, you are presented with a score screen. And then
another scene.
Once that's done, go to the main room and see that everyone has thrown a party
for you! Talk to everyone and then Claymore again to see a celebration scene.
After the credits, what is there to do? Stay tuned for more!
