IV) The Costumes (a.k.a. the main part of this guide!)

Okay, if you have unlocked all, or some of the costumes (to unlock
them, just play through the story mode) then you’ll notice a few
numbers after you’ve selected your character in Duel Mode, Tournament
Mode, Practise Mode, etc. This is the outfit selector. Now I’m gonna
tell you what costume each number will give you. Remember that some
actually have alternate costumes, whereas others just have a palette
swap.

Fusion Characters;

------------
Vegetto –

1 – This was his only costume, considering that Vegetto was only
present for a short time. He has what looks like Goku’s gi on, only
the colors are reversed. The orange undershirt is orange, while the
over shirt and pants are now blue. The sash is also blue. Vegetto
also wears Vegeta’s white gloves and white boots with the yellow

------------
Gogeta –

wear (if they have fused using the Fusion Dance). He has a small open

puffy parts and the blue sash and ankle coverings are now light
yellow.

Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta –

2 – An interesting palette swap we have here! Let’s start from the
bottom shall we? The ankle wrappings are now yellow, the pants are
black and the vest remains the same. The belt is dark yellow.
Gogeta’s fur and skin tone are now much darker making him  look like
a black Super Saiyan. His hair is also silvery white.
------------
------------
Gotenks –

1 – Being a warrior born of the Fusion Dance, Gotenks has exactly the
same clothing as Gogeta.

palette swap is the same as Super Saiyan 2 Gogeta’s and not super
Saiyan 4 Gogeta’s.
---------------
---------------
Kibitoshin –

1 – This is the fusion of Supreme Kai and Kibito. The costume is
quite similar to Shin’s costume. Only that it has shoulder pads now.
The baggy jumpsuit is darkish blue, the Kai garb is red, with dark
yellow tips and the cloth is orange and now has more to it than
Supreme Kai’s one had. The extra piece is hanging down in front. The
boots are yellow.

2 – Palette swap. The red part becomes purple, the light blue part
becomes even lighter and slightly green in color, the yellow boots
become blue and the orange wrapping is now yellow.
------------

That’s it! That’s all the costumes and palette swaps in Dragonball Z
Budokai Tenkaichi 2! Now I can safely say that I have played as every
single character in the game!

V) Frequently Asked Questions

Ask me some questions and I’ll put them here. Just not how to unlock
a certain costume, I’ve already stated that you just need to play
through the story mode to unlock the outfits.
-------------------

VI) Trivia

- Vegetto’s palette swap seems to have been lifted straight from
another Dragonball game called “Dragonball Final Bout” for the
Playstation 1.

- Whilst playing as Goku, who’s wearing costume 6, go Super Saiyan.
Notice how his hair in this particular costume is now a really pale
blonde color! This is the exact same hairstyle that he had in the
Frieza saga. A nice little homage by Spike there.

- Three characters in the game lose a part of their outfit after
taking enough battle damage. Android 13 loses his cap, Roshi loses
his sunglasses and Grandpa Gohan loses his fox mask. Let’s hope that
Spike with make Gohan an alternate costume without the mask in
Budokai Tenkaichi 3...

- A very young Nick Kazama once made a Great Saiyaman costume for
Halloween. It had the sunglasses and the little white bandana and
everything. The only thing missing was the cape...
