I decided to create this guide upon finding no
reliable sources for recipes. Cooking Mama is a
great game, and I think it definitely deserves
more love. This is my first guide submitted,
though not neccessarily the first written.

to gain this recipe, if any. Default recipe
simply means it was there when you first start.
UNLOCKS: The name of the recipe that is unlocked
upon completion of this recipe, if any. You may
notice that not all recipes unlock others of the
same ethnicity.

I've picked up a few handy tips during the game.
1. Use the wrist strap.
It may seem like a no-brainer, but seriously.
This game can be very hard on your wrist.
2. The more sensitive, the better.
I have the sensitivity of the Wiimote cranked
for this game. It's easier if you don't have
to smash the Wiimote as hard. Also, when doing
stuff like cracking eggs or remove carefully,
start off by lightly shaking the Wiimote.
Always remember than lightly is better than
heavily.
3. Take advantage of the practice option.
I never used to be very good at stir frying
or using the grill. But I practiced, and got
the hang of it.
4. Try and be as accurate as possible.
It'll earn you bonus points - handy for
2p and vs. AI cookoffs.
5. Keep an eye on the timer in the top right.
If it begins to tick quicker, you don't
have much time left. Focus on time more
than accuracy.
6. Watch the smoke.
For steps that require you to fan and flip
(ie, the grilled bonito), watch for when
it starts smoking. That's when it's done.
7. Serve as little as you like.
With the 'serve as much as you like' step,
you can do whatever you want. I usually
click on a few pieces of food then click
serve. Why not finish off with a nice
healthy time bonus? Mama actually doesn't
care how much you serve - it's just for fun.
Same goes with decorating.
8. Color is key.
When deep frying, watch for the food to
turn an orange-ish color, then again to a
darker orange. That's when you know it's
done. Be quick to grab the finished food
and drop it in the bottom pan, otherwise
it'll drop. Also, keep an eye on your
temperature bar - it rises quickly.

Q: DOES MY SCORE AFFECT WHAT RECIPES I UNLOCK?
A: No. You can get a Try Harder grade and a
recipe will still be unlocked. Unlike the
DS version of this game, recipes cannot be
altered.
