A2. Boss Strategies
===============================

Note: I expect the reader to be familiar with the game. He/She should
have enough knowledge to be able to perform the strategies listed
that follow this passage. If you don't know what different levels
there are to the Axe, then you should go read up and find out.

                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
                      :        Two Bears        :
                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

The two bears are easy if you know what you're doing. You should have
full health when you take them on.

They'll start by coming from both sides of the screen. Every time you
hit one of the bears, they'll jump back, then proceed to jump foreword
at you. Intercept these stupid animals in midair and strike them down
again. Make sure not to get in the middle of both of them, or your
crap will get fried. Another point is that they don't attack much when
walking on the ground, so you'll have enough time to get positioned or
what not.

With the Legendary Axe at 1/4 of its max power, it takes 5 hits to kill
each bear. Without the Legendary axe being at 1/4 power, it'll take around
7 or 8 hits to kill each bear.

                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
                      :      Two Boulders       :
                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

Make sure that you have the Legendary Axe at 1/2 max power before you
attempt this, or it'll be a lot harder than it should be.

When you make it past an area with a rope that you hang from, a boulder
will start to chase you. It'll be brown, and it'll take three fully-charged
hits to destroy. Let it chase you. You'll only turn around to hit in and
that's it. The boulder will turn darker shades of brown each time you hit
it. It'll break in pieces. Now, you'll have to fight the "boss."

There will be one more boulder left. Go right again until you see a green
boulder rolling around under a rope. It'll take around 4 hits with the 1/2
charged Legendary Axe to break apart. There will be totems that contain
health in the middle of the room. Get them when you need them. I don't
recommend anything fancy here at all, just beat the damn boulder down the
axe. Not much of a strategy.

                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
                      :     Five Eyeballs       :
                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

The five eyeballs are very strange. They have purple eyes and wander
around the screen at high velocity. Sometimes they'll start to hover over
you in a triangular movement, other times they'll just float around waiting
to be hit. Finally, they can shoot fireballs at you.

At the beginning of the battle, notice how they have a little guy with an
axe come at you? The first thing that you'll want to do it take him out
with the Legendary Axe. You need the ducking room that he takes up for
later in the battle.

Now that he's gone, go into a corner and duck until the eyeballs start
to circle overtop of you. Wait until they're done and go off somewhere else.
This is your chance to charge up your attack and do damage to them, or
it's your chance to knock out those little totems in the middle of the
battlefield. If you need health, there's two, small health reenergizes in
two of the totems. The other ones hold jewels that'll increase your score.

Sometime one of the eyeballs will wander off and shot fireball down from
the top of the screen. If you're in the corner, you won't have to worry
about this at all. If you're in the middle for some reason, you'll
take about 1 hit damage. It might not sound like a lot, but when you only
have around 10 things of health, every piece counts.

Keep attacking them until they die, which should be obvious enough. You
might end up spending long times under them while they're overhead spinning
in a triangular motion. Simply wait it out and play is calm. You have to
have patience.

                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
                      :     Double Spearmen     :
                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

There's a lot of people that claim this is the hardest battle in the
entire game. In actuality, the double spearmen are probably the easiest
bosses in the game. There's a simple tactic that you can use to beat
them without breaking a sweat.

There will be four totems total in the middle of the fighting field. One
has a giant health restore, the others will have a small health restore
and gems. Screw the gems, get the health if you need it.

Once the battle commences, jump into a corner and just start lambasting
the attack button over and over again. They won't be able to hit you
because their thrown spears will fly right over your head and the their
regular attacks are too slow to get you. Basically, you'll be like a
cornered dog that'll fight for his life.

Once one of them dies, the other one happens to keep his distance. Just
go to him and repeat the exact same tactic as you did with the last
spearman. These guys are a complete piece of cake. If you have the
Legendary Axe at its full potential, this battle will go by a lot faster.
Either way, the spearmen are complete and utter jokes.

                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
                      :          Panda          :
                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

Panda is a wizard that shoots out a lot of fireballs. They'll start to
spin in a circle and come at you. Each fireball does a good amount of
damage to you if you get hit. Since he fires out around 4-6 before
he teleports, you better learn how to dodge them.

Or, on second though, you won't have to learn how to dodge them Pands is
another egregiously easy boss in the game. He seems hard at first, but
once you get his pattern down, he'll fall within a matter of seconds.

First the, battle will begin with you on the left and him on the right.
There will be three totems in the middle of the room that hold health-ups
but you don't need those. Make sure you have the Legendary Axe at its
most powerful form. If you don't, this battle will be a lot harder, since
you won't be able to deal out as much damage.

Anyway, store up the energy and wait. Wait until you see that you're able
to jump in and hit him with a maximum charged hit. The screen will flash
white whenever you smash him with the most powerful attack in the game.
Keep repeating this. If he teleports to the other side of the screen, just
do what you were doing but on the other side. He'll fall within a matter of
seconds. It takes exactly 3 full-charged hits to take him down.

                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
                      :        Final Boss       :
                      :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

All monsters that were previously fought all amalgamate into the final
boss of the game. The final boss looks somewhat funny, since he's just
a skull, eyeballs, and big black feet. He's able to jump high in the air
and slam his foot down too. In fact, that's all he's able to do.

Since before the battle started they gave you a bunch of health-ups,
health shouldn't be a problem here. There's either two ways that you
can position yourself to do damage to him. One is to be between his feet
and hit him, but this will make you take damage (2 bars per hit.) You'll
most likely have to take the damage once or twice in the battle.

When he jumps far, simply run under him while he's airborne. When he lands,
give him that powered-up hit. Keep this up and he'll start to change colors.

First, he'll change yellow, and nothing else in his attack pattern will
change the slightest bit. Keep the pressure on him and he'll soon turn
purple. Still, none of his attacks will change at all, so just keep up
with the same strategy the whole time. After you beat him, the whole screen
will practically turn into a light show, and you'll find flare, your
cavewomen friend. You guys will kiss (and probably more later) and
you'll point over to the right. Some how, he knows that the credits are
over to the left, and they start to roll. Congrats on beating the bosses
in the game.
