Started this project out of boredom, since it's like snowing outside
or something. Making a snowman would be a waste of my time, therefore
I'll write for brutal game. 4 hours of writing. Ohh well...kept me
    occupied.

  - 12/31/03 -

Hey, found this on my hard drive. Submitted the first version, I'll

The basic are the rudimentary skills that are needed to beat each level
effectivly. Without the basics, you'll most likely end up being lost on
the simplest of all things. Here's some basic tips to ameliorate your
skills into something of an art.

1. If you ever see a weapon, pick it up. Picking up all weapons ensures
that monsters will have a harder time hitting you. For once, you'll
almost always have a longer reach, and another, if the weapon is a
projectile, you'll be able to hit them before they can do anything
  about it.

2. You only have 5 hits. Some monsters may take 1 or 2 of these hits
away from you. (The hits beind represented by hearts.) The only way that
you're able to replenish your hits are to beat a stage or die. Beating
the whole stage won't even constitute all of your hits being restored.

3. If you die a total of two times, you'll be able to continue. Once you
run out of continues, however, you'll have to start the whole game over
  again.

4. Some monsters have a rather long reaching range. For monsters like
these (noteably the ones in the water), you'll have to jump in and
attack. This is the recommended plan of attack on any monsters like this
since you only have 5 hits in the first place, you should make sure that
  you conserve them very well.

5. Pressing "Down" over items will pick them up for usage.

6. Pressing "Up" in front of ladders will allow you to climb them.

7. Anything that blinks is able to be picked up and used against monsters
in the course of the game.

You'll be in an underground tunnel of sorts. Walk foreword and pick up
that two-by-4 that's sitting there blinking. Pick it up and start to smash
all the red demons that come after you. Proceed right some more until you
see chained denizens that'll vomit up acid that'll hurt you when stepped on.
Jump over this acid and continue to take out all of these stupid red demons
that come after you.

Go over some more until you see metal spikes coming out of the ground at
random intervals. Walk over them, but make sure that you time it accordingly.
If they come up and hit you, you'll endure substantial damage. Once you
get past this, they'll throw a bat at you. Make sure you smash the crap out
of this thing with the weapon, and proceed right some more.

There will be more spikes that come out of the ground. Repeat what I said
in the last paragraph. Now they'll try and combine red demons with bats.
This will prove no problem for you. The only problem that I see if they'll
throw a bat that hits low at you.

After you go right enough, you'll come to a ladder. Don't think that the
game would let you off so easy. You'll have to sit down and fight some
aliens now. These aliens are rather tough for what they are. Since you'll
have the two-by-four, they should be easier than if you were to take them
on with your fists. Hit them in the midsection with the board, then
wait for their bodies to rot into the ground. You'll notice that their
heads are still alive. They'll begin to float up into the air. You're going
to have to time your hits at the fight time, or you'll be damaged, and
that'll suck.

Once you make it up the ladder, you'll be faced with the first boss in
the whole game. It's not really one boss, it's more like a plethora of
regular enemies that come after you.

                              _______________
                              ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The boss here is rather easy. There will be a body that's hanging in the
upper-left hand corner of the whole level. Just get down in the bottom
left right hand corner and start kicking. All of the leeches will come out
of the blood things in the back and start to jump at you. Don't move,
they'll fall right into your kick and die. After you kill around 10 of these
little beast, one will jump out of the hanging body. Once you beat this
leech with the same tactics you used on the other (you don't even have
to beat it if you don't want to) the screen will dim and you'll be done
with stage one. Congrats.

If one managed to grab onto you during the battle, just jump in the air
for it to come off.

                              ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Pick up the two-by-four and start beating the crap out of the green
monsters that come up to you. Walking right will prove that the game
stoops to any level to make you take damage. They will have guys in the
back that'll barf up vomit that's acidic. If you touch it, it'll take away
one of your precious hearts.

After this, you'll get to play pinata with some hanged uglies. These guys
simply go up and down from an opening in the ceiling. Taking them out
will prove easy, as all you need to do is just smash them with the
two-by-four. They'll break in half and you can laugh at their languid
bodies as they hit the floor in a pile of mucus-like mush. After you do
this for a while, there will be a ladder going down. I think you know
where to go.

You'll be in the sewers now, grab the two-by-four. You'll meet up with
some Sewer Sludges on this part of the stage, so your best bet would
be just to knock their blocks off in one hit with the board. Coming along
with the sludges are annoying little things called "Spiked Balls." If
you get hit by one trying to jump over it, it'll take away 2 hearts from
your 5. That's a pretty huge chunck of health if you think about it.

Anyway, press foreward and kill another sludge. Now you're going to have
to start jumping over those dreded spiked balls. Right before they get to
you, jump and hold the button down, then hold to the right. You'll make
it with a little bit of luck. Soon the game will start having the spiked
balls coming from the back as well as the front. So you'll have to learn
how to jump one after another. After all of this is over, you'll see
another ladder heading up. Where could this lead to?

                               STAGE 2 BOSS
                              _______________
                              ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

This boss as quite a few stages to him. In fact, I hesitate to call it a
"him", because, in actuality, it's not really anything at all. The
first thing that this boss will do it start to shake the room and make
stuff fall from high above in an attempt to take your health away. To
avoid this, simply walk into the right hand corner and duck down.

Then, he'll call upon a chair to take you out. I know, a chair probably
can't do much in real life, but on the game it can. Stay in your corner,
only to move or attack when the chair comes close to you. He'll keep
bouncing around like a jackass until you break him into 5 pieces. He'll
go down.

The boss really is digging deep into his arsenal now; he'll bring out a
bunch of kitchen knives to do his dirty work. There's three of these little
thing to take you out total. First, there will only be one, jump punch this
one to death. Next, two will come from the wall to kill you. The secret
here is to try and get them both corned. From there, you'll be able to
beat them both up at the same time. They'll be trapped under your fist
and can't get out.

The final hurdle to get over in this battle is the picture. If chairs,
knives, and falling objects weren't enough, they have pictures that attack
you, too. Get to and stay in either the right/left hand corner of the screen
and start punching like usual. This is probably the easist part of the
whole battle if you know what you're doing. After all the inanimate objects
have been slain by your all-mighty fists, a ghost will get up and leave.

Don't get so excited, since the chandalier in the room will fall down
and crush you if you walk right under it. Tis a cheap, cheap tactic employeed
by the creators to try and get you to die one last time.

You god damn right, this stage rules. It's the only stage in the whole
entire game that allows you to use the shotgun to kick ass. You'll
encounter two-three of these awesome weapons throughout this level.

At the very beginning, they'll place one right in front of you. Pick it up
and get ready to rip some alien behind. Go foreward and blow apart all those
little demons that proceed to get in your way.

While you play the game, you'll come across many brutal weapons that
Rick will be able to utilize to bash some skulls in. Some weapons will
be more frequently found than others. Others will be useful in some
situations while using others would prove inept on your part.

-------------------------------
1. Two-By-Four                 The two-by-four is the most abundant weapon
  - Found: Stage 1            in the entire game. It's range is about twice
of your standard punch, and it can deal out
around double the damage to monsters in the
vicinity of the area you swing.
-------------------------------
2. Shotgun                     Shotgun kicks all ass. You'll get 8 shots
  - Found: Stage 3            with this beast. It can't be reloaded, once
you're done with it, it'll be gone for good.
This is usefully for just decapitating
regular enemies and finishing off the
                              stage 3 boss.
-------------------------------
3. Silver Wrench               The wrench is a one time weapon. You'll only
  - Found: Stage 2,           be able to use the thing once. It does a
pretty large amount of damage for what it is.
They're rather rare in the game, and you'll
only run across a few of them.
-------------------------------
4. Golden Clever               The gold cleaver lays heavy smackdown. It'll
  - Found: Stage 4            appear only at part in the whole game during
boss battle. The weapon has decent reach
and can take out the boss quickly. Too bad
the programmers didn't add the ability to
use this weapon on other levels, that
would've given the game a lot more excitement.

-------------------------------
5. Throwing Rock               Throwing rock is just silly. Ok, so it does
  - Found: Stage              about the exact same thing as the wrench,
but it looks like a huge hunk of silver
that's thrown at the enemy. Besides it's
appearance, the rock only shows up a couple
of times in the whole game, which sucks.
-------------------------------
6. Spear
  - Found: Stage 4            Another "One Stage" only weapon, the spear
gives Rick the ability impale the opposition
with a fierce weapon from the ice age. One
hit will from this will make whatever monster
subside from having a huge thing of metal
                              in its body.

Note: These aren't the actual names, just names I've made up for the
monters using nothing but common sense and adjectives.

1. Red Demons                  Red Demons are complete and utter wussies.
  - Found: Stage 1, Stage 2   There's nothing tough about them, as all they
Stage 3            do is just walk around like fools and get
punched in the face. That's all they do,
nothing else. They'll wander around in most
stages in the game, they'll even upgrade into
                              green demons.

2. Chained Denizens            Chained Denizens are relic monsters. They
  - Found: Stage 1, Stage 2   can't really be hit, but they're there for
some reason. They'll be able to spit at
you with bile and acid, that'll do one
point of damage if you walk into it or
aren't able to jump that far.

3. Bat                         Bats are the easiest mosnters in the game
  - Found: Stage 1,           to kill. Everything kills them in one
hit. Making them easier is that fact that
they just fly right at you. It can't get
                              much easier than that.

4. Aliens                      These are the last regular enemies you'll

guys suck and are hard. They'll walk around
until you kill them. Once their body rots,
their heads will begin to float in the air.
They'll come after you right away. This

5. Green Demon                 Green Demons are just like red demons, but
  - Found: Stage 2, Stage 3   they happen to have a little more in the
way of vitality. The character model and
everything thing is the exact same, so you

6. Hanged Uglies               Hanged Uglies are just what the name implies
  - Found: Stage 2, Stage 3   they are, Hanged Uglies. They only appear
when there's a monsterous hole in the ceiling
that's big enough for them to come out of.
Either way, they don't really attack much
at all. On Stage 3, however, this all changes
as they begin to spit the acid at you.
Number of Hits taken to Kill:
Fist - 2

7. Sewer Sludge                Sewer Sludge monsters have an absoultely
  - Found: Stage 2, Stage 3   long attacking range. So your best best would
be simply to smash them with the two-by-four
one time. You only meet up with them a few
time in the whole game, so it's no biggie.
                              They're usually occompanied by floating
spiked ball that can take away 2 hearts
                              if they hit you.

Stage 1 Boss: Leeches.

your corner, only to move or attack when the
chair comes close to you. He'll keep bouncing
around like a jackass until you break him
into 5 pieces. He'll go down.

The boss really is digging deep into his
arsenal now; he'll bring out a bunch of
kitchen knives to do his dirty work. There's
three of these little thing to take you out
total. First, there will only be one, jump
punch this one to death. Next, two will come
from the wall to kill you. The secret here is
to try and get them both corned. From there,
you'll be able to beat them both up at the
same time. They'll be trapped under your
                              fist and can't get out.

The final hurdle to get over in this battle
is the picture. If chairs, knives, and
falling objects weren't enough, they have
pictures that attack you, too. Get to and
stay in either the right/left hand corner
of the screen and start punching like usual.
This is probably the easiest part of the
whole battle if you know what you're doing.
After all the inanimate objects have been
slain by your all-mighty fists, a ghost will
                              get up and leave.

Don't get so excited, since the chandelier
in the room will fall down and crush you if
you walk right under it. Tis a cheap, cheap
tactic employed by the creators to try and
get you to die one last time.

1. Level Select -  There's a cheat that allows you to just skip levels.
Thank god (or satan) for this thing, because it makes
FAQ'ing a hell of a lot easier. (Satan and Hell in the
same sentence doesn't constitute me being satanic.) When
the games shows the picture of the house in the rain,
press select 3 times. Hold down-left and press eithr of
the buttons. You'll be taken to a screen that allows you
to choose what level you wish to play.

2. Hard Mode    -  This code is really easy to do. Simply press and hold
select on the controller till the game allows you to play
                  in hard mode.

Thanks go to the following:
- Myself, for being able to type over 100 WPM and fly through these things.
- Masters and whoever else elicited my interest in the Turbo system. It
truly is a system that has been overlooked by S-nerds and Genesis
 fanboys alike.
- What ever webmaster currently is hosting this document on their site.
Thanks for giving my work a place to help other gamers.

care if you host this thing at all. If you take without asking, then
we have a problem. I'm erudite in the ways of finding thieves, and you
