PLEASE HELP:
I decided to write this faq a few hours into the game. So PLEASE give me the
information for the one remaining heart, and the elixirs I forgot to mention. I
found every heart but one. Also I'm missing 2 shields, one is the legendary
shield. Credit will be given to you. Thanks!!!
INTODUCTION:
This is my first faq ever! Please shoot me an email and let me know what you
think. Whether it is good or bad. I am no English major, so hopefully it's not
total junk.
Dragons curse is a game in the highly underrated wonder boy series. This faq
will work for the sega master system version entitled Dragons Trap, and the
turbo grafx version entitled Dragons Curse. But keep in mind some character
names and item names will be different. That is the only difference. This faq
is made for the turbo grafx version!
DIFFERENCES IN DRAGONS TRAP FOR TURBO GRAFX 16, AND DRAGONS TRAP FOR MASTER
SYSTEM:
If you are playing the turbo grafx version consider yourself lucky. The turbo
grafx version is way better!! In graphics and sound. Not to mention game play.
Also in the sega master system version, the hospital costs more every time you
use it. The turbo grafx version is a couple hundred at the most. The master
system version is upwards of 2000 coins per hospital visit toward the end of
the game. It is insane!!! Buy the turbo grafx version!!
Also, please note that this faq is not a step by step guide all the way! The
reason I do this is so you can play the game, and not have to read every 2
seconds. This game is pretty straightforward. I only give you the information
you really need. If a part is confusing I have helped you out. But almost
EVERYTHING is a straight shot!
STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW:
Game is broke in to five worlds
1. Sea world- looks tropical. Go south from town and head right
2. Desert world- a desert. Go north from town and head right or left
3. Jungle world- full of vines. Head west from town
4. Cave world- it's a cave slightly left and to the south in town. Break the
blocks with mouse man to enter.
5. Sky world- to the north west of town. Must fly there with hawk man.
THE CHARACTERS:

ITEMS:
1. Gold coin- money
2. Gold bag- at least 10 coins in it.
3. Medicine vial-refills health when you die.
4. Stones- charms shopkeeper. Save to raise cp and buy ??? items
5. Key- a key
6. Checkered blocks- stick to these with mouse man
7. Grey blocks- break these with the magical saber

AP, DP, AND CP:

AP is attack points- your power
DP is defense points- your defense
CP is charisma points- used to charm shopkeeper
SPECIAL WEAPONS:
1. Fireball- this pretty much sucks
2. Tornado- decent for killing enemies in pits
3. Arrow- very helpful for killing clouds or any airborne foe
4. Boomerang- my favorite weapon, be careful not to bounce enemies in to you by
using it to close
5. Thunder- most powerful weapon
HINTS AND TIPS:
1. Always!!!!! Always!!! Hold button 2 when you are about to die, and have a
medicine. You will be filled to full life.
2. Remember where all the medicine you find is. Don't buy it!!! Save it for the
end of the game. However, medicine found in chests re-appears eventually.
3. Grab every stone the enemy drops until you reach 30
4. Always look for hidden doors by pressing up
5. Having problems buying items with ??? in the stores. Try raising your cp by
equipping different armor and collecting stones.
6. When using mouse man you have to stick to checkered blocks. Sometimes you
will fall because you don't know if you are sticking or not. To tell if you are
sticking just stand still. If you feet are moving, you are sticking. If not,
jump and try to re-stick.
7. Right before a boss fight get your special weapon ready, as soon as the
fight starts the run button will not work.

#1 Other side of pyramid
#2 Deep in ocean, need piranha man
#3 In small pond next to town, cave world. Need lion man
MEDICINE LOCATIONS
#1 Sold in jungle world
#2 Under desert in chest
#3 Cave world, hidden door in blue area. Enclosed area.
GAME START:
You start as Hu-man, the most powerful form in the game. Enjoy it why you
can.You are in a very simple maze. Find the skeletons and head left. Fight the
dragon and watch the mini story. Now the game really begins.
THE REAL BEGINNING:
Now you are dragon man. Go south to sea world. Explore the ocean if you like
(do it), and get the key. Save money and buy all the items in town and sea
world you can. Now use the key to unlock the door in the village. Head north to
desert world. Hang a left in the desert. See the guys in the pits? Remember
them!! later go down there and get a free medicine out of the chest. See the
pyramid?? Go over it and enter the door by the Sphinx for a heart. Backtrack
over the pyramid and enter it. This is pretty straightforward. So just do it
and beat the dragon. If you get stuck in here just turn off the game and quit!!
You suck!!
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE:
Now you are in town and you are mouse man. Time to head left out of town to
jungle world. Go in the first shop out of town after the checker blocks. Buy
all you can. Now keep left. You will see a checker maze. At the top left is a
hidden door. Just jump up in the left top of the screen. You actually want the
path right under that to progress further. So keep heading left now. Either
jump, or turn and block the flames that rush you. Eventually you come to a dead
end. First go down and get all the stuff. Then head back up and climb the wall,
to the next boss level. This level is also easy, make good use of you shield
and beat the dragon. I am not telling how to beat the dragons. If you are
really having trouble email me. I don't want to spoil your fun.
A PIRANHA CAN SWIM IN LAVA?
Ok, you are back in town, piranha man time. Hope you have 30 stones by now. If
not have fun collecting. A good place to collect is sea world. In the far right
of sea world (above land), by the shop, are 2 screens of crabs. This is a good
spot for getting all items. Just kill over and over here for easy items and
money. There is also a green crab here that drops medicine quite often. Kill
cloud man with arrows. Remember this spot!!! You will be here quite often. Once
you have 30 stones go to desert world and hang a right this time. Be careful
this is tricky. If you have a boomerang whip it out! It is very useful against
those genie guys and the skeletons and frogs. When u get to the door enter and
buy the dragon mail (remember you need 30 stones and the mythril mail equip).
Now head right with dragon mail equip. Now you can stand in lava!! Once at the
dead end enter the door and get the sword that breaks blocks (can't remember
the name). Then go to town.
TYING UP SOME LOOSE ENDS:
Ok, it's exploration time. Save, save, save that money. There are quite a few
options here in the game. I suggest buying every weapon and armor you see.
Don't forget the heart piece deep in the ocean. You need piranha man to get it.
Also I suggest skipping the next chapter "the underground sea" and doing the
first part of the chapter "the evil ninja castle". Use mouse man to do this.
Once you get the tazmanian sword turn around and come back. Then continue with
the underground sea chapter, after you have the crystal armor and sword. They
are located in town. Climb the tower with mouse man. Once you get the crystal
items it's easy sailing until you reach the sky castle.
THE UNDERGROUND SEA:
If you listened to me this should be easy. The boss of the ship is no match for
the crystal equipment. To get to the ship level just break the blocks under the
ocean with piranha man and follow the pretty straightforward path. Take a small
detour and retrieve the heart piece if you have not already. As with all the
castles this one is an easy one to get through. No walkthrough is needed.
THE EVIL NINJA CASTLE:
Once in town go to the door next to the church. Look left and break the block.
You will get a door. In there you can change forms. Just jump on the platform
again if you desire another form. Come back to town. Get lion man and break the
blocks to the west in town. See the water??? That is the spot.
Now you are in cave world. Go in the first well. Bounce up and break the block
to get a shop. Go down the first well again with mouse man and stick to the
ceiling. Go In the door. Break all the blocks and enter the shop hidden in the
block at the very end. Next go down the third well to start your journey to the
ninja castle.
IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
I suggest now you buy the crystal sword and armor and the shield!!! They are
very expensive, but even with these the castle will still be hard. They are
located in the main tower in town. Use mouse man to reach the shop. I also
suggest you get a boomerang if possible, and fight at the spot I mentioned
earlier in sea world and collect many fireballs (around 30). Also 2 medicines
wouldn't hurt. You should find one along the way to the ninja castle. Hopefully
why you are collecting fireballs the green crab will be nice and drop one for
you. Also as soon as you get lion man don't forget the heart piece it is in
cave world at the very beginning. You have to have lion man to get it.
EVIL NINJA CASTLE CONTINUED:
Ok, back at cave world now. Keep heading left, when you see the second lava
pool don't forget to find the secret hospital right next to it!!! Next there is
an enclosed space a few screens over also. There is a door there. It will send
you to the enclosed area. Once in there walk left and find another secret door,
this time you will be transported to a room with money and a medicine. Now
leave the way you came. Once you appear outside the enclosed area, look to the
right. There will be a path there that earlier you should have taken. It is a
dead end. There is another secret door with a Tasmanian sword at the end of
that dead end. Don't forget the Tasmanian sword! Keep heading left after the
secret detours. Eventually you will make it to the ninja castle. Now the game
starts to get kind of hard. The blue guy at the entrance (on the bottom) is
good for coming off of full life hearts. Enter the ninja castle door.
Ok, this place sucks. Ninjas everywhere. The blue orbs can be destroyed with
the fireballs you should have. Even better a boomerang if you were lucky enough
to get one. As for the annoying samurai guys that jump backwards and throw
ninja stuff. Use a fireball and rush them. Also if you are very lucky, the
green samurai guys that jump backwards will drop the hades mail. Finally, at
the entrance to the boss is a secret door between the 2 tree trunks. This one
is a lifesaver!! If you miss it you will probably lose. Before entering the
boss room make sure to equip a good magic item. Thunder is good if you have a
few.
TYING UP SOME LOOSE ENDS PART 2, THE LEGENDARY WEAPONS:
Well, now you have birdman. Fly over the evil ninja castle and enter the door.
Get all the items and head home. Now fly directly right out of town. Stop at
the enclosed shop and by the shield. Go down to ocean world from here and go
left (stay above ground!!) There is an area inside the little cave that leads
to ocean world. Fly up and get the chest. Now leave the cave and fly back up to
the right side of town. Past the huge gap and enter the crumbled castle. In
this castle is a simple maze that you should know already. The legendary sword
is in the chest. And one of the Cyclops guys (a blue one) will drop the
legendary armor. He dropped it for me the first time. I don't know if I got
lucky or not, but I received it the first time. As for the shield, That's is a
mystery??? Leave after you receive the sword and armor, you can search for the
shield if you like, but I could not find it.
The castle in the sky:
Provided you have the crystal sword and armor, a boomerang or 2, about 2
medicines, and some arrows. You should be fine. This may take a couple of
tries, but you can do it. I have found nothing secret here. But I would feel
there has to be, but the only thing really hard here is the boss. And as long
as you can make it to him with 2 medicines, you should be ok. If for some
reason all your medicine stock will no longer appear in the chests, in the
cave, and under the desert. Then die a few times and they will eventually
re-appear. Also in sea world find the small house (the first one). Jump in the
ocean and head left for a room with a chest with special weapons in it!!!

The rest of the game is easy after this. I don't want to ruin it for you.
