Hi. I'm ZiNgA BuRgA (in case you haven't realised that already),
and this is my first walkthrough that I've ever writtern, so I hope
you find it useful.
Anyways, I've seen a few challenges for Seiken Densetsu 3 (hereby
referred to as SD3) such as the Single Character Challenge, but what
about the classic Low-Level Game? I know AbsoluteZero has written a
Low-Level Walkthrough for SD3, but it's incomplete and I don't think
he has any intention of completing it (considering the date).

/ 1a What is this \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
A Low-Level Challenge is perhaps one of the most "classic"
challenges. Simply, the aim of the Low-Level Game (hereby referred
to as LLG) is to finish the game at the lowest possible level. Due
to the difficulty of this challenge, you probably won't bother trying
to finish the game at the _lowest possible_ level, but will be very
close to. So, the aim is to finish the game with an average party
level of 30 or lower.
This guide actually guides you through completing Carlie's quest
with the least amount of Exp possible (thus the lowest possible
level).
___________________________________
/ 1b Should you do this challenge? \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This challenge is not easy. Also, unlike the Single Character
Challenge (hereby referred to as SCC), in which you can always level
up, if you're having problems with a particular boss, there is no
"easy way out", that I can think of, for a LLG.
So if you wish to try this challenge I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
- You've completed the game at least once
- I recommend playing on an emulator. You _can_ finish a low level
challenge on the actual SNES, but this is _really_ hard!
Of course, you have absolutely no obligation to do this quest - it
is completely optional. Do note that this challenge may take you a
long time to complete. Also you'll be consistantly using your
emulator's "save state" fuction.

/ 1d The Rules \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1. Avoid unnecessary fights (should be obvious). You will be forced
to fight bosses (obviously) and some forced "normal" enemies. This
minimises the amount of Exp you gain (and thus, lowering your
level). I will allow some exceptions, for example, enemies spawned
by bosses.
2. No cheating!
That's it. Do whatever else to give yourself the greatest advantage!

General notes and tips are placed here to avoid repetition in the
walkthrough. You should at least skim this section before reading
the actual walkthrough.

/ 2a Characters \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
I recommend you choose these characters:
Carlie (main), Hawk (2nd), Kevin (3rd)
These are the characters I assume you have chosen. Here are some
other teams I suggest:
Kevin, Carlie, Hawk/Angela (for Kevin's quest)
Angela, Hawk/Kevin, Carlie (for the Angela/Duran quest)
Hawk, Kevin, Carlie (for the Hawk/Lise quest)
You can choose a different team if you wish, but keep these in
consideration:
- You will never have enough experience to perform the second class
change, so don't select characters because they have a good final
class
- Although you will be able to perform the first class change, you
will only be able to after you've beaten a few God Beasts.
- Carlie/Kevin have the easiest end boss
- This guide assumes you have chosen the above team, so if you
choose different characters, you will probably have to change
some strategies etc
- If you don't want to do the Carlie/Kevin quest, I recommend you
choose Hawk (for the Hawk/Lise quest) or Angela (for the
Angela/Duran quest) as your main character.
- Angela _may_ make the game a bit easier - I've chosen Hawk
because his Body Change allows you to finish the game at a lower
level.
The following is what I think about each character:
: Duran :.
Not a very good character for a LLG. He can only fight in his first
class, which Kevin and Hawk are better at. His second classes aren't
great either. As a Knight, he only learns Heal Light (useful, but
Carlie learns it during her first class). As a Gladiator, he learns
the four main elemental sabers, which Carlie learns in her second
class, plus you can use claws instead of sabers.

: Kevin :.
A good character for a LLG. Since a lot of boss battles will be long
a good fighter is definitely needed, and Kevin is the best. Most of
the time, he will be the only character who deals more than 1 damage.
For his second class, they're both fairly good.

: Hawk :.
Not too bad a character, but not great either. He can only fight
during his first class, but doesn't deal much damage, although he does
attack twice. He second classes are pretty good though. Although a
Ranger is usually a bad class, Body Change is very useful if you want
to try to achive the lowest possible level. As a Ninja, he has stat
lowering Jutsus, which are even more effective if used with Scales,
but by the time you learn them, there aren't many hard bosses (exept
DeathJester) to use them against.

: Angela :.
An okay character. Her spells do decent damage, but usually less than
Kevin's Level 1 tech. Also, because of limited MP, she won't be able
to cast many spells before you need to replenish her MP. For her
second class, you should choose the Sorceress (the Delvar is really
bad), in which she learns stronger level 2 spells.

: Carlie :.
An almost essential character. Her Heal Light is very useful.
Usually having 9 Round Drops isn't enough for most boss battles, but
with Carlie you can also bring 9 Faerie Walnuts (Pakkun Chocolates and
Honey Drinks aren't worth buying). Since each Walnut gives you enough
MP to cast Heal 6 times, this is equivalent to 54 Heal Lights - enough
for any boss. Also, her high spirit also makes Poto Oils a lot more
effective. For her second class, she can perform multi-target Heal
Lights which are even more useful.

: Lise :.
A very bad character for a LLG. She can't really do anything during
her first class, except fight, which she is bad at. Her second
classes are pretty bad as well. For Valkyrie, well, you may as well
use Scales - they only cost 22 Luc each (and you don't need many).
For a Rune Maiden, stat downs are useful, but you may as well choose
Hawk's Ninja class.

/ 2b Items & Equipment \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
One thing to note in a LLG, is that your money is limited. Don't
go spending it on unnecessary items.
a) Until you reach the God Beasts, don't buy unnecessary items, like:
Pakkun Chocolates
Honey Drinks
Mama Poto Oil
If fact, you don't need these items at all for the entire game.
b) Don't upgrade your armor or weapons unless I tell you to.
c) Don't bother with Magic Ropes, if you're really short on money.
d) Usually, when you re-stock on items, you should have at least 9
Round Drops. Also, it's not a bad idea to keep extra Round Drops
(about 3-9) in your storage. These are for those places where
there's no Gold Statue before the boss. You can heal your party
with Round Drops before the boss, then fill up your item ring with
the stored Round Drops.
________________
/ 2c Experience \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is how experience is given out when you defeat a monster/boss:
- if beating the monster results in a "Victory" (ie the "Victory!"
message appears, or you defeated a boss) all dead characters are
revived and recieve the experience
NOTE: that bosses which have more than one "part", ie they spawn
enemies, or are divided into different targetable "parts",
killing the boss doesn't count as a "Victory". Bosses which
do this are:
- Genova (if spawns are left alive)
- Xan Bie (if the "top part" is left alive)
- Zable Fahr (if the left and right heads are left alive)
- DeathJester (it's possible for the 'fake' parts to 'die'
last)
Interestingly, Mispolm seems to be an exception - not
everyone _will_ get Exp (some dead characters may not
recieve the Exp); I'm not sure how it works, but I've
managed to get only one character recieving the Exp. I
think the order of who dies affects this - I kill off Kevin
then Carlie.
- if beating the monster doesn't result in a victory, then
experience is only given the alive characters
Note that if a boss spawns enemies, defeating the boss will not
result in a "victory" if enemies still exist. Thus only alive
characters will get the Exp. Also note that the spawned enemies will
still give experience, but only to characters which are alive.
Another thing to note is that, quite often, you will gain 2 levels
from a boss battle. Since you can only gain one level per fight,
when you "gain" 2 levels, you gain one of them after the boss fight,
then, if you check the amount of experience you need for the next
level, there will be a 0. Now I'm not sure if this is a bug, but even
when you don't gain any Exp, you may gain another level. I think this
only happens when a character (other than the one to gain a level) is
killed by a normal enemy.
For initial experience, your first character starts off with 0 Exp
(Level 1), your second character starts off with 127-129 Exp (Level 4)
and your third starts off with 128-130 Exp (Level 4). I won't be
pedantic enough to be bothered about having 2 more Exp, so, unless
you really want to, don't bother trying to get 0/127/128 Exp initial
characters.
Note that this guide assumes you have started with 0/127/128 Exp
initial characters.

/ 2d Raising Stats \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
When you do gain a level, these are the stats I recommend you raise
for each character. Always try to raise the first one in the list,
but if you can't, raise the second in the list and so forth:
Duran: Strength, Vitality, Intelligence, Agility, Spirit, Luck
Kevin: Strength, Vitality, Intelligence, Agility, Spirit, Luck
Hawk: Strength, Agility, Vitality, Intelligence, Luck, Spirit
Angela: Intelligence, Vitality, Agility, Strength, Luck, Spirit
Carlie: Spirit, Vitality, Intelligence, Agility, Luck, Strength
Lise: Vitality, Intelligence, Strength, Agility, Luck, Spirit
If you don't know what the stats do, here's an explanation:
: Strength (STR) :.
The amount of damage your physical attacks do is determine partially
by this stat. Only really useful for Kevin, since he should be your
attacker (and is the strongest in the game) and maybe Hawk (the
second strongest attacker). For Angela or Carlie, don't bother
raising this stat. (Note that Level 1 techs are strength based)
: Agility (DEX) :.
This increases your Hit Rate (lowers the chance you have of missing
physical attacks) and Evade Rate (increases the chance enemies have
of missing physical attacks). Not particularly a great stat to
raise, but as it is Hawk's speciality, you may as well raise it for
him (he learns various spells/abilities at certain Agility levels,
plus Agility determines the amount of damage done by his spells).
: Vitality (CON) :.
A good stat to raise. This raises Defense (lowers the amount of
damage dealt by enemies' physical attacks) and your Max HP.
: Intelligence (INT) :.
Raises Magic Defense and Magic Damage. As a defensive stat, it's
usually better to raise Vitality as it also raises your Max HP.
Angela should raise this stat, otherwise raise it after raising
Vitality. I think this stat also affects the damage done by
"Magic Coins" (ie Ice Coin, Light Coin etc).
: Spirit (PIE) :.
A pretty useless stat, but this is good for Carlie (which you
_should_ have on your team). Raises the effectiveness of
non-offensive spells such as Heal Light. This also affects the
effectiveness of magical support items (ie Poto Oil).
: Luck (LUC) :.
A fairly useless stat. Don't ever bother raising this. This
increases the chance of critical hits, which are very rare. Also
reduces the chance of gettting a negative effect from opening
chests. Since you are trying not the beat up enemies, you won't
be opening many chests.

/ 2e Class Changing \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You will only be able to class change once. When a character
reaches level 18, you should immediately class change. You should
only be at this level after defeating a few God Beasts, so when a
character reaches L18, fly Flammie to the Mana Holyland and class
change.
Here's my recommendations on which class to choose:
: Duran - Knight (Light) :.
This is one of the reasons I think Duran is a bad character (for a
LLG) - none of his second classes are any good (his first class is
even worse). Nevertheless, as a Gladiator, he only learns the four
basic sabres - you may as well use the claws instead (oh, I do guess
they cost a hefty 40 Luc </sarcasm>). Although the Knight's Heal
Light is useless next to Carlie's, you do get to equip a shield...
: Kevin - Monk (Light) :.
Although the Bashkar is slightly stronger, for most of the game,
there isn't much of a difference. The Monk's Heal Light, altough not
that useful (you should use Carlie's Heal Light instead, or a Round
Drop) may help you. Also, the Monk learns a full screen tech, which
can come in handy in various situations.
: Hawk - Ranger (Light) :.
The Ranger is actually worse than the Ninja, but I've chosen the
Ranger because of his Body Change spell, allowing you to avoid gaining
some levels. If you can't be bothered trying to achieve the lowest
possible level, I guess you can choose the Ninja.
: Angela - Sorceress (Light) :.
Well, the Delvar just sucks (only learns Dark Force), so hmmmm, what
does that leave...?
: Carlie - Priestess (Light) :.
The main reason you class change Carlie is for her multi-targetable
Heal Light, which both of her second classes have. The Priestess has
higher Spirit, meaning a more effective Heal Light, than the
Enchantress. Also, the Enchantress's summons are pretty worthless -
they barely do any damage.
: Lise - Rune Maiden (Dark) :.
You can stat up yourself with items, so there's no reason to choose
the Valkyrie... Also I don't want to recommend you choose the Light
class for every character.......

/ 2f Battle Tips \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
a) Try to avoid using Angel Grails - they do cost a hefty 100 Luc
b) If Kevin is in your party, fighting at nighttime helps
c) If the enemy is elemental, DON'T fight it on the element's day,
for example, don't fight Genova (fire element) on Salamando's Day,
instead fight it on Undine's Day. In case you don't know which
element is weak against which, here's a chart:
Fire (Salamando) <--> Ice (Undine)
Tunder/Air (Jinn) <--> Earth (Gnome)
Light (Wisp) <--> Dark (Shade)
Moon (Luna) <--> Leaf/Wood (Dryad)
So that is fire is weak against ice and vice versa, etc.
And here's the days of the week, in order:
Mana Holy Day (is this a "neutral" day?)
Luna's Day
Salamando's Day
Undine's Day
Dryad's Day
Jinn's Day
Gnome's Day
One other thing to note is that time passes faster when you are on
Booskaboo or Flammie.
d) Here's a trick with Heal Light. If the character you are
controlling is about to be killed by a spell, quickly cast Heal
Light on it. If done correctly, the spell will hit, reducing the
character to 1 HP (rather than killing it), then Heal Light will
kick in and restore the character's HP. Note that you can even
prevent "death" spells, like Death Roulette or DeathSpell from
killing you with this technique!
e) Here's another trick with spells. To make casting spells faster,
while the character is chanting the spell, bring up the menu, wait
for a second, then exit the menu. The spell should be cast almost
instantly.
f) Quite a lot of the time, a boss's physical attack will really hurt.
Try to dodge these attacks if you can. It should also be noted
that the AI can't really dodge either. Sometimes you will have to
temporarily control another character by using the L or R buttons.
g) The Chibikko Hammer. Once you get this item, you pretty much don't
need any Puipui Grass, Mama Poto Oil or Tinkle Rain. You see, the
game only allows you to have one negative status at a time. So for
example, you are silenced, simply use the Chibikko Hammer on that
character. The character will no longer be silenced, but be a
Chibikko (small thingy). Now use the hammer again on that
character to un-Chibikko him/her.
h) Note that when you are chanting a spell, the character won't be
affected by status changes.
i) Don't use Kevin's or Hawk's level 2 tech - it's weaker than the
level 1 tech (because the level 1 tech attacks twice). An
exception is Kevin's full screen level 2 tech, which you will only
sometimes use. So when they class change, set the AI's default
tech to the level 1 one.
j) Also, when Carlie's tech starts doing 1 damage, you may as well
disable her from using techs altogether, since this may cause
troubles when you want to cast spells. Again, change the AI's
default tech to None
k) You should neer control a spellcaster (Carlie or Angela). This
will stop you from bring up the "Ring Command" while they're
casting a spell (you also loose the ability to do the quick spell
trick). Exceptions to this are when you want to move the character
to a certain spot.
l) Sometimes, "attack" spells (such as Fireball) or level 2 techs will
incite a boss to use stronger attacks on you.
m) To gain the least amount of Exp from forced battles, try to only
have one character alive when you defeat each enemy. This way,
only one character will gain the Exp.

/ 2g Miscellaneous \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
a) Your average party level should usually be about half the the
levels which "normal" enemies are at.
b) You can get a "free heal" at Jad, after getting the Pihyara Flute.
Go to Jad, and from the south entrance go straight up. After that
keep going up until there's some stairs leading down towards the
right. Go down these stairs to find the prison cell and a Gold
Statue.
c) The difficulty rating for boss battles is out of 5 stars. This is
what they mean:
* Relatively Easy
** Moderate
*** Moderately Hard
**** Hard
***** Very Hard
Note these are "relative". That means just because a boss is rated
one star, it doesn't mean it's really easy to beat, but it's easy
in comparison to other bosses.
d) In this guide I will show you which directions to follow, but most
of the time it's pretty obvious where to go. Just make sure you
don't get caught in an unneccessary forced battle. I will
indicate when you are forced into a battle.

: Temple of Light :.
Watch the intro clip, then when you gain control of Carlie, go up
through the door, up the staircase, then down through the leftmost
door. Talk to the guy in the room, then go down through the exit he
took. Now go through the rightmost door. Walk between the two
rightmost beds and you will be prompted a question. Choose the
approriate answer (don't worry, you can always try again if you get it
wrong :)). When you get up, exit through the south door. Now head
through the southmost door, then any south exit. Walk right and talk
to the guy again. Then 'talk' to the yellow thing. Watch the scene
and you'll be sent to Astoria.
: Lakeshore Village Astoria :.
When you regain control, walk south twice to exit the inn, then
head through Astoria's only north exit.
: Rabite Forest :.
Head north again, and DON'T FIGHT the Rabbites. Head north again to
find Heath. When you regain control, try to head back to Astoria, to
watch Heath get attacked by DeathJester. Now watch the cinematic.
: Lakeshore Village Astoria :.
You will arrive back at Astoria. Now you'll need to talk to two
people. Head eastwards and find the lady that looks like she's
wearing a shower cap (and talk to her), then go south to find the guy
standing next to the lake (and talk to him). Now head back north to
the inn and stay for a night (what a waste of 10 Luc). When you wake
up, exit the inn and exit Astoria through the north exit.
: Rabite Forest :.
Go north again, then west (don't fight the monsters!!!), south,
west, heal at the statue, then south, south, east and talk to the
faerie. Now head back to Astoria. When you arrive, exit Astoria
again. Then head east to meet Hawk. So if you've done everything
right, you should have the following stats:
Carlie, 0 Exp (Level 1)
Hawk, 127 Exp (Level 4) (note that Hawk may have 127-129 Exp,
see section 2c for more info)
and should have about 45 Luc.

Go through Wendel's north 'exit', then north again to enter
the Temple of Light. Go up again, then walk up to the Priest and talk
to him. Watch the clip, then exit the temple. When you arrive back
in Wendel, head to the item shop. Buy 9 Round Drops, then exit Wendel
through the east exit. Head northeast back into the cave.
: Cave of the Waterfalls :.
Inside the cave, go east, southeast, east, northeast, northwest,
heal at the statue, then south, west, get over the waterfall, west,
northwest, north, west and heal at the statue.
Now we need to make our way to the boss. Try not to take too much
damage from enemies. From the statue, go east, east, southeast,
north and then north to face:

This guy is fairly easy. Just attack him. Use

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, head southeast, southeast, cross the waterfall,
then watch yourself get owned by Lugar.
: Castle City Jad :.
After the cinematic, figure
out how to escape from jail (it's not very hard). Kevin will join.
Now heal at the statue. If you've done everything right, you should
have the following stats:
Carlie, 24 Exp (Level 1)
Hawk, 151 Exp (Level 4)
Kevin, 128 Exp (Level 4)
and have about 486 Luc.
Now, go west up the stairs, and keep going south until you exit the
castle. Now go to the harbour (next to the inn) and take the free
ride.

: Free City Maia :.
You will arrive at Maia. Enter the Item/Weapon shop and buy Round
Drops until you have 9, and 3 more in storage, and perhaps buy 2
Angel's Grails just in case. Remember, do NOT buy and wepon/armor
upgrades! After buying the stuff you should have about 240 Luc (maybe
a bit less if you used too many Round Drops against Full Metal
Hugger). Now try to exit Maia through the only west exit.
: Golden Road :.
After you leave town, go west, north, west, west, southwest, south
then northwest.
: Cleft of the Earth :.
If you want to make the next boss fight slightly easier, you can
keep entering and exiting the Cleft of the Earth till it's nighttime
(also make sure it's not Gnome's or Salamando's day - I'm not sure
what type the Machine Golems are, but just to be safe). Note that
this may take quite a long time, so use your emulator's "turbo"
feature to your advantage. When it becomes nighttime, enter the
Cleft of the Earth, and heal your characters with Round Drops (don't
use more than 3), then restock your supply with the Round Drops I
told you to put in storage. This is just to make the battle a bit
easier - I still found the boss easy without it being nighttime or
healing my party before the battle (in fact, I didn't heal at all
during the battle as well). Now head west, south and west to face:

This battle actually isn't that hard. Take
control of Hawk and only heal Hawk. Make sure the
other two characters are dead when you beat the
first Golem, so only Hawk recieves the experience.
Don't bother reviving the other characters, Hawk
should be able to beat one Golem by itself. Also
note that a few of the Golem's attacks are dodgeable

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, Carlie should level up; raise her Spirit and she
should learn Heal Light (very useful). Now make your way back to
Maia.
: Free City Maia :.
Got to the Item/Weapon shop and restock on Round Drops,
remembering the extra 3 for storage. Also make sure you have at
least 1 Angel's Grail (I recommend 2). Now go to the northeastern
house and talk to the guy in there. Then go through the north gate
and talk to the guy again. Now exit the house and talk to the old man
which stands below some pots (he doesn't move).
: Cleft of the Earth :.
Now make your way back to the Cleft of the Earth. Make sure it's
nighttime - if it isn't keep entering/exiting the Cleft of the Earth
until it is. Also make sure it's not Gnome's Day. After that, 'talk'
to the Grey Statue and figure out what to do. After Wisp opens a
pathway, head though it, then go southeast and north.
: Dwarf Village :.
In the Dwarf Village, head to the Item shop and talk to the guy
there. Don't bother buying anything (you're already stocked up on
items from Maia right?). Exit the village through the south exit,
then head eastwards and talk to the guy there (he bombs you, nice
guy, huh?).
: Dwarf Tunnel :.
Head through the pathway opened up by the bomb, go northeast,
northwest, west, north (turn east at the corner), east and talk to the
guy here (gee, a lot of talking takes place). Graciously accept his
offers - if you have the money (you don't) and he should run away
claiming that you are trying to rip him off (actually, I get the
feeling that he's trying to rip _you_ off). Head west, west,
southwest, southwest, west, southwest, northwest, northeast, east,
north, east, east, northwest, west, west, west, southwest, south. Now
heal your characters with Round Drops (don't use more than 3) and
restock your supply with the Round Drops in your storage. Savestate,
then head northwest. Talk to Watts again, and he will trap you
(dwarves sure are nice to you) with:

This guy is fairly hard. You'll quickly run out
resources if you're not careful. Use Carlie's Heal
Light whenever you need to heal, rather than Round
Drops, and don't heal unless you don't have to.
Also take advantage of the "Heal Light trick" (see
section 2f). When Carlie runs out of MP, just let
her die, and only revive her when you need to heal.
Grand Slam and Power Punch are really strong attacks
which hit your whole party. Jewel Eater casts
Protect Up when he has aboud 600HP, so that you know
he's dying. All in all, this may seem like a long
battle, but most of the battles you will fight will
be about this long. I managed to finish the battle
only using 7 Round Drops and 1 Angel's Grail.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, Carlie and Hawk should level up. Raise Carlie's
Vitality and Hawk's Strength. Carlie should learn Tinkle Rain. Now
talk to Watts, who has become less mean, and he will give you some
Gunpowder (about time) and then warp you back to the Cleft of the
Earth. If you've done everything right, these should be your stats:
Carlie, 88 Exp (Level 3)
Hawk, 233 Exp (Level 5)
Kevin, 194 Exp (Level 4)
and you should have about 1300+ Luc.
: Free City Maia :.
Anyways, head back to Maia. Go back to the northeastern house and
talk to Bon Voyage. After a display of weaponary, he'll tell you to
go out the back - do so. Talk to him again and he'll shoot you to
Forcena (or at least try to). See how nice this guy is? He gets you
to do a lot of stuff for him, and he doesn't even get you to Forcena.
Oh, well, I guess you're close enough.
: Molebear Highlands :.
You'll land in the Molebear Highlands. Go north, north, down the
holes and you'll meet Duran. Now here's another nice guy: after he
hints you to help them, he just leaves you. Anyway, go southeast,
east, south, east, eastwards and down the hole, then ignore the other
holes (you shouldn't be playing with holes, well at least not too many
of them :)) and go northeast. From here, go north. The only thing to
do here is play with the hole, so you may as well do so. When you get
bored of playing with the holes, go north, northeast and north.
: Grasslands Country Forcena :.
After watching the cinematic, head through a north door (it doesn't
matter which one). Heal at the statue, then go north three times.
Now go through the northmost archway, then north three times again
(lucky number three). Koren will withdraws his forces because you've
arrived (I wouldn't if I were him). Anyways, after his questionable
departure, talk to the King. After he talks to you go south four
times and talk to Bon Jour (hello?). Now go south twice. Wait for
daytime (if it's not already), then head into the southwestern most
house (the one in which you can actually see the door, not the ones
you enter from the right). Talk to the lady sitting at the table,
then exit the house. Now head north twice and talk to the cannon guy.
Wow, his aim is actually accurate.

: Free City Maia :.
You'll arrive back in Maia. Exit Bon Voyage's house (why you'd want
to stay there with that crazy guy I don't know).
: Golden Road :.
Head west to the Golden Road and make your way back to the Cleft of
the Earth. From there, head south (back to the Golen Road), south,
southwest, west then south into Byzel.
: Mechant City Byzel :.
Head southeast to the harbour and board the boat (you get 150 Luc
ripped off you).
: Fishing Harbor Palo :.
You arrive in Palo. Head to the weapon shop and upgrade Hawk's
weapon ONLY. Remember to equip it, then exit Palo through the west
exit.
: Path to the Heavens :.
Now we need to collect some ChibiDevil's Eyes.
Okay, now fight the monsters - ensuring that there's a ChibiDevil
out of the three monsters. Remember to have only Hawk alive before
you beat monster (so only he will get the Exp). Also make sure you
don't kill the ChibiDevil yet. Once you've killed off the two
Zombies or NeedleBirds, attack the ChibiDevil, saving state every
time you score a hit. Now when you kill the ChibiDevil, if a chest
is not dropped, load state, then kill the ChibiDevil again. Repeat
this until a chest is dropped. Once a chest is dropped, again,
savestate, then open the chest. If you don't get a ChibiDevil's Eye
then loadstate and open the chest again (ChibiDevil's Eyes are rarely
given - you'll most likely get a Puipui Grass). Also try pushing the
chest around and opening it from different sides. Remember to always
use Hawk to open chests (he has the hightest Luck). You should get
one ChibiDevil's Eye per "Victory!". This procedure _will_ take quite
a while. And the bad news is that you will need 21, yes that's 21!!!
ChibiDevil's Eyes. Heal between battles, if you need to, using
Carlie's Heal Light. The monsters shouldn't be too hard to beat, if
you stand on that elevated area, try to only get one Zombie/NeedleBird
to come up at a time. To 'reset' the area, after you've won a battle,
go south then east to the beach, then come back and the enemies should
be 'reset'. You can also exit the area if you're affected by Poison
or Small, but make sure you don't 'reset' the enemies in this case.
If you wish to know the stats of the enemies, here they are:
_____________

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
During this item collecting task, everyone will level up - raise
Kevin's Strength, Carlie's Intelliegence then Spirit, and Hawk's
Vitality. After you have collected 21 ChibiDevil's Eyes, you should
have the following stats:
Carlie, 256 Exp (Level 5)
Hawk, 653 Exp (Level 6)
Kevin, 362 Exp (Level 5)
and you should have about 2200+ Luc.
After that, go northwest, northeast, northeast, northeast, east,
east. You should be in a room with a Grey Statue. From here go
south, northeast and southeastwards.
: Rolante Secret Hideout :.
You'll wake up in Rolante's hideout. Exit the room, and head
northwards to the meeting room. After the meeting, exit the room, go
north, southwest, northwestwards and talk to the Amazoness. Now wait
until it's nighttime (if it's not already), then go where the
Amazoness went, and you should find your way to Merci, with her big
cannon (btw, how is she Bon Voyage's cousin? they look completely
different...). Anyway, she shoots you to Byzel.
: Mechant City Byzel :.
Enter the Black Market in Byzel and get the Chibikko Hammer. Also
you'll need to buy some items. Remember that you'll have to prepare
for 4 boss battles and 2 forced battles, before you'll be able to
come back to the Black Market. Also make sure you have at least 390
Luc remaining (for boat rides) and enough money to restock your supply
of Round Drops. Anyways, after obtaining the Chibikko Hammer, you may
as well put the Gunpowder in your storage, then go buy some items. If
you've done everything right up to this stage you should have about
2200+ Luc. So here are the items I recommend you buy:
6x Flame Coin (132 Luc)
3x Poseidon's Claw (120 Luc)
3x Molebear's Claw (120 Luc)
9x Poto Oil (270 Luc)
9x Drake's Scale (198 Luc)
5x Sahagin's Scale (110 Luc)
5x Bulette's Scale (110 Luc)
TOTAL (1060 Luc)
After buying items, you should have about 1100+ Luc remaining. Exit
the Black Market and head back to Maia.
: Free City Maia :.
Head to the harbour and take a ride to Jad (180 Luc down the drain).
: Castle City Jad :.
When you arrive at Jad, exit the harbour, Go north four times,
then down the stairs to your right. Heal at the statue (hey wasn't
that beastman locked away? where did he go?) then make your way back
(go south four times). Exit Jad through the south exit.
: Rabite Forest :.
Now go south, southwest, west, south, west, south, west, heal at the
statue and go south, westwards and talk to the stone. Now use the
Chibikko Hammer to make everyone a midget (hmm, if Carlie's already a
midget...). Now go northwest.
: Corobokkle Forest :.
In the Corobokkle Forrest, talk to all the Corobokkles and then Don
Perignon. After the he talks to you, exit the villiage of shrimps
and make your way back to Jad.
: Castle City Jad :.
If you wish you can get the 'free heal' again (keep heading north
until you reach some stairs which go right; head down these stairs
then heal). Anyway, head to the harbour and head for Palo (210 Luc
down the drain).
: Fishing Harbor Palo :.
You'll arrive in Palo. Stock up on items here, making sure you
have:
20x Round Drop (100 Luc)
9x Magic Walnut (450 Luc)
TOTAL (550 Luc)
After that, go through the west exit.
: Path to the Heavens :.
Go northwest, northeast 4 times, east, then north into the cave.
Inside, go north then west. You should be at the Corridor of Wind.
: Corridor of Wind :.
Go up and hit the switch. Now go through the southwest exit, then
the middle entrance. Go left and push the switch, then go up and
push that switch, then exit through the northwest exit. Go south,
then southeast. Find the only switch you can press (and press it),
then go as downward as you can. Go right from here, push the button
and make your way to the south exit. Outside, head southwest and
heal at the statue. Now you'll need to go outside and wait till
it's nighttime (and not Jinn's Day). You can do this by quickly going
northwards and hiding in the little notch. If you did it right,
enemies won't be able to attack you, meaning you can simply hold on to
your emulator's "turbo" key. Now make your way to the east entrance,
trying not to take any damage (you can lure the enemies away by going
northwards, then quickly running back to the Gold Statue, heal, then
when you exit the cave again, quickly run to the east cave entrance).
Go east from here to face:

When the battle starts, use Molebear Claws and
Drake's Scales on Kevin and Hawk. This guy is
really annoying because a lot of the time, he can
block your attacks. Just pound him with physical
attacks. If one of your characters fall asleep, use
the Chibikko Hammer on them _twice_. Tzenker should
go down quickly, with Hawk's upgraded weapon. I
didn't even have to heal in this battle at all.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, everyone should gain a level. Raise Carlie's
Vitality, Hawk's Agility and Kevin's Vitality. Talk to Jinn if you
wish to continue. Now if you want to, you may return to Palo to
restock up on items, but you really shouldn't need to.
: Path to the Heavens :.
Now, make your way back to the sleep flowers and select a suitable
spirit to use. You'll be sent outside Rolante.
: Wind Kingdom Rolate :.
Put all your Round Drops into storage (if you have more than 6
Angel's Grails, which you shouldn't, put them into storage as well),
before getting the items from the barrels. You will recieve 9x Round
Drops and 3x Angel's Grails (saving you 345 Luc; doesn't quite cover
the money wasted for the boat rides). Now just wait here until it's
the nighttime, and make sure it's not Salamando's Day. After waiting,
go north into Rolante.
Head through the southeast arch if you want a free heal, then come
back out again. Now, go through the northeast archway, northeast and
the character you are controlling will finally realise that there are
monsters here. Go southwest, south, northwest, northeast, south,
northeast (not through the door), east, north, north, northwest,
northwest, northeast and heal at the statue. Now try not to take any
damage while you make your way to the next boss. Exit the room with
the statue, go northwest to find Bill & Ben doing something, which
appears to be rather unpleasant, to Lise (does Isabella approve of
this?). When you approach, Bill & Ben run off, and dump Lise. If you
talk to her, she seems to want more, not yet satisfied. Obviously,
you don't allow this to happen (there are better people to be abused
by :)). Anyway, head northwest to face:

When the battle starts, use Poseidon's Claw and
Drake's Scale on Hawk. Now DON'T kill the
Shapeshifters! Control Hawk, and keep attacking
Genova. Don't bother healing Kevin or Carlie. Hawk
should be doing a lot of damage with his upgraded
weapon (for me, his BA did 2x80 damage). But the
Shapeshifters do a lot of damage, so you may
consider also putting Bulette's Scale on Hawk. If
Genova casts Body Change, use the Chibikko Hammer to

When Genova is about to die, make sure that only
Hawk is alive. At this point, you may kill off

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, only Hawk should level up - raise his Strength.
Restock your supply of Round Drops with the ones in your storage. If
you've done everything right so far, you should have the following
stats:
Carlie, 416 Exp (Level 6)
Hawk, 1099 Exp (Level 8)
Kevin, 522 Exp (Level 6)
Now head north to face:
____________

Damn these guys are a pain. They do a lot of
damage, so as soon as the battle starts, use
Bulette's Scales on everyone, and Drake's Scales on
Kevin and Hawk. Heal regularly with Heal Light;
when Carlie runs out of MP, use Magic Walnuts to
replenish her supply. Also, DO NOT USE ATTACK
MAGIC! This causes Bill & Ben to respond with
Shadow Dive, which does a ton of damage. Don't
bother using Stardust Herbs in this battle - it
will cancel your Defense and Power Ups.
Remember to make sure only Hawk is alive when
you defeat the first Bill/Ben (after they've
separated of course), so that only Hawk will
recieve the Exp. Some tips: Bill & Ben "recoil" to
your attacks, so use this to your advantage. Also,
their physical attacks are dodgable, so the hit and
run technique can be effective.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, Kevin should level up - raise his Intelligence.
You should have the following stats:
Carlie, 572 Exp (Level 6)
Hawk, 1411 Exp (Level 8)
Kevin, 678 Exp (Level 7)
and about 2900+ Luc.
Oh and now would be a good time to disable Carlie's L1 tech (since
it only does 1 damage).
Anyway, go forward to talk to Isabella. Like Koren, she
questionably withdraws her forces from Rolante (because you beat Bill
& Ben). After that, Lise thanks you for saving her castle by
banishing you from Rolante forever (well, you can never enter Rolante
again) - nice girl huh? (perhaps she wanted more of Bill & Ben, sorry)

: Fishing Harbor Palo :.
Now head back to Palo. There will be an interesting scene when you

When you're ready, head for the harbour and board the Ghost Ship.
: Ghost Ship :.
When you wake up, exit the room, and head east, south, northeastern

control of Kevin and head right and read the book on the table. Talk
to the ghost which appears and Kevin should now be cursed. Now head
back to the door with the note/paper next to it (and of course, go

Before going up the stairs, if there are no enemies around (ie you've

will have a "0 Exp to next level". Allow both to level up (see
section 2c) - raise Carlie's Spirit and Hawk's Strength.
: Volcanic Island Bucca :.
Anyway, you'll arrive at Bucca. Go north twice, south twice, north,
east, heal at the statue, then west, south, east, south, northeast,
east, east, south, northeast, north, northeast and east.
: Village of Dark Priests :.
You'll arrive at the Village of Dark Priests. Heal at the funny
statue, and talk to the Priest just to the right of this funny statue.
Buy armor upgrades for everyone. Don't forget to equip the armor.
Now to the Priest right of the armor selling one. He sells items, so
make sure you have 9x Round Drops. Now go down. There are two
Priests here, talk to the left one. Now leave the village.
: Volcanic Island Bucca :.
Head west, northwest, northwest, west and west. Go westwards and
chat with the boulder. Choose Gnome and the whimsical little spirit
will open up a path for you. Enter the cave.
: Seashore Cave :.
You are now inside Seashore Cave, which is appropriately named
because, err, its a volcano (can't you smell the sea?). Anyways, head
east, south, south and south. Yay, outside... wait here until it's
the night of Salamando's Day, then head east and we're back in the
cave again. Inside, head north and northeast to face:

________________________/ FORCED BATTLE \_______________________
Difficulty: * (Easy)
This forced battle is _exactly_ the same as above. This

is redundant. You also have a large area to move around.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
No one levels up. After the battle, head back east to heal, then,
south, west, southwest, south, northwest, west, southwest, heal at the
statue, north and northwest to face: Jagan. After some talking, a fat
turtle will save you from the volcano (why is there a river in a
volcano?).
: Golden Road :.
The Fat Turtle will take you to the beach south of the Golden Road.
From here, go west, north and east.
: Free City Maia :.
Head to the northeastern house again, and travel by cannon to
Forcena (the idiot actually aims right for once in his life).
: Grasslands Country Forcena :.
Now keep heading north until you find the king. After showing you
where the mana stones are, he will give you the Pihyara Flute. Yay,
no more wasting money on boat rides. Now keep heading south till you
reach the cannon. Travel in it back to Maia. If you've done
everything right so far, you should have the following stats:
Carlie, 892 Exp (Level 7)
Hawk, 1863 Exp (Level 9)
Kevin, 678 Exp (Level 7)
and you should have about 4000+ Luc as well as 19 ChibiDevil's Eyes.
: Free City Maia :.
From here make your way back to Byzel. If it isn't nighttime,
wait outside Byzel until it is. Now go into the Black Market.

: Golden Road :.
After that, make your way back to the beach south of the Golden

Now head for Elrand. Elrand is on the topmost continent. You'll have

Man, these Golems are psycho. Their first
attack will kill you if you don't try to dodge it.
Carlie will need a Bulette's Scale just to have
enough defense to survive it. Hope that they don't
use Grenade Bomb - it's pretty much an instant kill.
And these guys do a ton of damage. Use Bulette's
Scales on everyone, then Drake's Scales and Siren's
Claws on Kevin and Hawk. During the battle Hawk
will level up - raise his Vitality, then you'll have
to use Siren's Claw and Drake's Scale on him again.
You can use Carlie's Heal Light if you want, but
most of the time you should use Round Drops and Poto
Oils instead (remember to get Carlie to use the
Oils). Luckily though, they die quickly.
Also, watch out for their spells. They don't
cast them very often, but they do _do_ a fair bit of
damage, to make you consider whether to use
Sahagin's Scales or not.
And as always, make sure only Hawk is alive

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, Carlie will level up - raise Vitality. Now head
west and northwest.
: Labyrinth of Ice Walls :.
Talk to the mana stone. After that, you'll need to make your way
back to the beach, and you'll still have to fight the two forced
battles :(. Just follow what I've written above (directions are
reversed of course).
So if you've done everything right so far, your stats should be:
Carlie, 1108 Exp (Level 8)
Hawk, 2511 Exp (Level 10)
Kevin, 894 Exp (Level 7)
and you should have about 2000+ Luc and 7 ChibiDevil's Eyes.
Anyways, use the flute to call the turtle.

If you need to, you can head back to Byzel to stock up on items.
You'll need to ride the turtle to the beach south of the Golden Road.
If you forgot where it is, it's on the central continent, the east
side of the big chunk of land (this chunk of land is towards the west
side of the world). From here, head back to Byzel. Make sure it's
night, then enter the Black Market. Make sure you have:
5x Drake's Scale
3x Bird's Scale
5x Bulette's Scale
9x Poto Oil
Now head to Maia to restock on items. Make sure you have:
9x Round Drop
5x Magic Walnut
Now return to the beach south of the Golden Road. Summon the
turtle. If you want, you can head to Jad for a free heal (see
section 2g). The beach outside of Jad is on the central continent,
on the eastern side of a peninsula (just east of where you are).
: Sand City Sultan :.
After that, head for Sultan. It's on the south side of the central
continent (there's only one beach there, so you'll find it). Make
sure it's nighttime and not Salamando's Day before you land though.
Enter the house just to the right of the weapon store. There's a
free Angel's Grail here. After you've looted the place, exit Sultan
through the east exit.
: Desert of Scorching Heat :.
Now in the Desert of Scorching Heat, try not to take much damage
as you go through, since there's no Gold Statue OR resting place
between here and the boss. Anyways, head east, south, east,
southeast, south, west, southwest, southeast and east to face:

These guys deal a lot of damage, so watch out.
Otherwise, they also take a lot of damage. Just

they should go down fairly quickly. You should give
Kevin and Hawk Drake's Scales, as always. For me,
Kevin's BA did about 2x75 damage!
After taking a certain amount of damage, it
seems that they use the deadly Shadow Dive move -
yes it kills you in one hit, guaranteed - even with

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, Kevin and Hawk should level up - raise Kevin's
Strength and Hawk's Vitality. Now head southeast.
: Valley of Flames :.
Head southeast, southeast, south, northeast, southwest, heal at the
statue, then east. Talk to Bigieu (Isabella's a much better name) and
watch Nikita through some magical Dart which doesn't hurt her, but
sends her, yet again, questionably running away. Anyway, after the
incident, head east and have a conversation with the large rock. Oh,
that Bigieu's wants to talk to the rock herself and blocks your way.
If you walk towards her, what does she do? She runs away again...
Anyway, have your conversation with the rock. After Salamando makes
some lame joke (which the faerie seems to be laughing at - she really
does have a bad sense of humour), make your way back to the beach.
If you've done everything correctly, you should have the stats:
Carlie, 1432 Exp (Level 8)
Hawk, 3159 Exp (Level 11)

9x Poto Oil
After buying all this, I had 3018 Luc left. Anyway, head back to

: Moonlight City Mintos :.
To the southeast of the beach south of the Golden Road, there is an

shop and make sure you have
9x Round Drops + 6 more in storage
9x Magic Walnut
: Moonlight Forest :.
Now head west into the Moonlight Forest. The enemies here do a lot

you have to take a detour to it - not really worth it), so refrain
from using Heal Light. Okay, so go southwest, southeast, west (not

If not buy them at Byzel. Now head to the Lampflower Forest (the

: Lampflower Forest :.
Now in the Lampflower Forest, walk up to the plant which blocks your

Mega Crawler 23 129 52 316 131 99 1 Leaf

Actually this boss isn't really that hard - the
hard thing is trying not to kill the spawns. This
is easier to do if you're only controlling two
characters, so kill off Hawk. Now put Molebear's
Claw + Drake's Scale on Kevin and, if you want to,
Bird's Scale + Bulette's Scale on Carlie. Use a
ChibiDevil's Eye on each of the spawns. Here's how
to avoid killing the spawns: control the fighter and
press START on Player 2's controller so that _that_
'player' (you) will control Carlie. Move her into
the top-right corner and try to get the spawns to
follow. Now leave her there. If done right, the
two spawns will also be in the corner attacking
Carlie, leaving Gildervine open for you to attack.
Of course, you'll need to heal Carlie regularly.
Oh, and if you can do it, the spawns won't attack
Carlie at all, if you get her to stay still for a
while.
Now when he uses Sleep Flower or Poison Bubble,
use the Chibikko Hammer to remove the status. But
the annoying thing is that when you awaken someone,
Player 2 no longer controls Carlie for some reason,
so you'll have to quickly change control and hit
Player 2's START button. If you're not quick enough
to hit P2's Start button, Carlie will move, and the
spawns will attack her.
Having 4000+ HP, this boss will take a while to
kill, using only one fighter. Also Sleep Flower is
rather annoying (why doesn't he ever run out of MP?)
When he starts blocking all your attacks, it's
up to 'part 2' of this boss. Kill the spawns, then,
if you want to, you can revive Hawk, and put Drake's
Scale + Molebear's Claw on him.
(Yes, you _have_ to kill the spawns - I've tried
using Coins to beat Gildervine without killing the
spawns, but the magic attacks miss. Also Darts and
Hand Axes have no effect.)
He's not too hard to beat in part 2, but watch
out for his Hammer Bean attack - especially if he
targets three in a row on a single character.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, everyone will level up - raise Hawk's Vitality,
Carlie's Spirit, Kevin's Strength. Now Carlie and Kevin should
be 0 Exp to the next level. When they level up, raise their Vitality.
Now return to the beach, and summon Booskaboo. If you've done
everything correctly, you should have the following stats:
Carlie 4162 Exp (Level 12 - or 11)
Hawk 5889 Exp (Level 13)
Kevin 3948 Exp (Level 12 - or 11)
and have about 5700+ Luc and 5 ChibiDevil's Eyes.

: Path to the Heavens :.
Now we need to get to Rolante. The beach outside of the Path to the
Heavens is in the southeastern part of the world, in that part of the
land which looks like a sideways V.
: Wind Kingdom Rolante :.
When you get to Rolante, talk to the Amazoness and go through the
opened path.
: Summit of the Skies :.
From here head southeast (you'll have to go northwards first),
northwest, northwest, northeast then northwest. Meet Flammie - a
female father; well she's named "the Father of the winged" by the
Amazonesses... I wonder why they think of Flammie as a male...
Well that Amazoness you talked to was quite protective of her -
maybe she liked Flammie the most... Sorry there.
: Mana Holyland :.
Anyway, Flammie will fly you to the holyland. From here go north,
west, north, west, north, southeast, northeast, north, heal at a
statue, then northeast, east, northeast and northeast. Go forth,
and pick up what will be thy sword (thou shalt press thy select
button to changeth thy control to thy hero). After a cinematic,
obtain the Wind Drum, and make your way back to the entrance of the
holyland. Use your new instrument.
(an interesting thing to try - after getting the Sword of Mana,
don't get the Wind Drum. Now the faerie shouldn't be with you, but
if you head back to the Gold Statues, talk to the central statue,
and the faerie is still with you)
: Beast Kingdom :.
Anyways, fly Flammie out of the Holyland, to the Beast Kingdom
(flashing dot on the map). Land here and go north. Now the enemies
here do a lot of damage so be careful. Head north, northeast _door_,
northeast, northeast up the stairs, southwest, heal at the statue,
west, south, south and north up the stairs. Watch the conversation
(interesting thing how Heath starts chanting a spell as soon as Carlie
mentions his name - gosh he does take a long time to cast a spell).
After you get faerie back, exit the Beast Kingdom and summon Flammie.
If you've done everything correctly, you should have the following
stats:
Carlie 4162 Exp (Level 12)
Hawk 5889 Exp (Level 13)
Kevin 3948 Exp (Level 12)
and have about 5800+ Luc.

4. Walkthrough - Part 2 (Seven God Beasts)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
I recommend you fight the God Beasts in this order:
Earth, Light, Moon, Wind, Ice, Tree, Fire
If you would like to change the order, here are my main reasons for
choosing the orders:
- Ice and Fire. There is one forced battle en route to the God
Beast
- The Light and Moon ones are hard to beat without weapon upgrades
- Fire and Leaf must be fought last as it's possible for only one
person to gain Exp from the fight
- So Fire should be fought last, preceeded by Leaf. Earth is fought
first to give enough Luc to upgrade Hawk's weapon for Light, which
gives enough money to upgrade Kevin's weapon.
- The God Beasts get stronger as you fight them later
(also note that I think the order affects how much Luc and Exp you
recieve from a God Beast, plus their HP also goes up as you fight
them later; the values given in this guide only apply if you
fight the God Beasts in the order I tell you to)

/ 4a Before the God Beasts \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Firstly, head to Byzel's Black Market to buy some stuff. Make sure
you have:
3x Poseidon's Claw (120 Luc)
6x Siren's Claw (240 Luc)
3x Kerberos' Claw (120 Luc)
9x Molebear's Claw (360 Luc)
14x Drake's Scale (308 Luc)
9x Bulette's Scale (198 Luc)
9x Sahagin's Scale (198 Luc)
3x Bird's Scale ( 66 Luc)
9x Poto Oil (270 Luc)
TOTAL (1880 Luc)
I know this is probably too much, but you have the money, so why
not use it? This will save you from coming back again and again.
Besides, you won't need to buy this much, you should already have
some of these items. If you want to, you can also buy some Specter's
Eyes.
Now head to any item store (well almost any) and assure you have:
9x Angel's Grail (900 Luc)
30x Round Drop (150 Luc)
18x Magic Walnut (900 Luc)
TOTAL (1950 Luc)
If you want, you can also get some Pakkun Chocolates and Honey
Drinks, but these items are completely unnecessary. I still had 4409
Luc after buying all this.
Remember that you should restock when necessary.

It's the westmost dot on the map. You'll have to land in Molebear
Highlands to get to the valley. Of course, wait till night, and make
sure it's not on Gnome's Day. If you've landed as close to the dot as
possible, go northwest, northwest, east, northwest, westwards to a
hole of fun, then go west, west, southwest and you should be in the
valley.
Go south, southeast, southeast, east, southeast, southwest, west,
west, southeast, southeast, south, southwest, heal at the statue, then
east, east, south, west, west, southwest, east and heal at the statue.
Now head northeast from here, then come back to the statue (heal if
necessary). This will reset the enemies in the room to the left.
Now try not the take any damage as you make your way to the boss.
From the statue, go west twice to face:

At the start of the battle, put Siren's Claw +
Drake's Scale on Kevin and Hawk, and Sahagin's

damage, but he takes a lot of damage too. Shouldn't

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, everyone levels up - raise Hawk's Intelligence,

/ 4c The Ancient Ruins of Light - Light \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Before heading here, go to the Forest of Wonder (northmost dot) to
upgrade Hawk's weapon - for some reason, the cats don't come to the
Ancient Ruins of Light.
Now head towards the ruins (it's to the west of the eastmost dot on
the map). Again, make sure it's night before you land. Once you do
land, go northeast, northwest, southwest, north up the stairs, north,
north, southeast, east and southeast. Before you head east, heal your
characters using Heal Light, and press the START button on Player 2's
control. Make sure that the remaining character follows _you_ (Player
1, not Player 2). When you're ready, go east.
Now here's the hard part - you have to try to avoid a 'forced'
battle. You need to read the thing on the wall, but you can't (for
some reason) with your weapons drawn. It _is_ possible to read the
thing without defeating the Grell Mages, but it's tricky. Okay, just
as you enter the room, move Player 2's character to the top-right
corner. The Grell Mages should go and attack that character - make
sure you heal it so that it doesn't die. Now with the Grell Mages
engaged in trying to beat up Player 2's character, move your (Player
1) characters towards the south exit, but don't actually go out. Now
you have to try to get the enemies as far into the corner as you can
get them to go. Once you've done that exit the room through the
south exit using your (Player 1) characters. Now re-enter the room.
If you did the above correctly, you should be able to walk up and
read the sign without drawing your weapon. If you wish, you may get
a free Honey Drink by heading south, southwest and west, then head
back to the room with the sign.
After you've done that, head northwest and examine the two tablets
on the wall. For the left one, choose Wisp. For the right one,
choose Shade. Now head south, west, northwest, northeast, northeast,
northwest and heal at the statue. Try not to get damaged while making
your way to the boss. Head southeast, northeast then north to face:

Not too hard, but takes a heck of a long time.
Anyway, start off the battle by using Drake's Scale
on Kevin and Hawk as always. Lightgazer is sort of
annoying, since he bounces around. Try to get
Kevin/Hawk to hit twice each time they attack,
charging your tech bar up quicker. Then, when you
perform his tech, time it right so it hits
Lightgazer twice - you'll have to press B just
before Lightgazer lands on the ground, and you must
be facing the right direction.
When he uses Prisoner on you, use the Chibikko
Hammer to rid yourself of the Moogle effect.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, everyone levels up - raise Hawk and Kevin's
Strength and Carlie's Spirit. Everyone will also have a "0 Exp to

If you've done everything correct so far, you should have the
following stats:
Carlie, 10032 Exp (Level 14 or 15)
Hawk, 11759 Exp (Level 15 or 16)
Kevin, 9818 Exp (Level 14 or 15)

A lot of his spells are multi-targetted, and don't

Firstly, I suggest you restock up on items - the next boss fight
does take a long time. I suggest you at least have:
9x Round Drop
8x Drake's Scale
8x Molebear's Claw
Then, make your way to this place and navigate your own way through
here as if you were looking for the long dead Tzenker. Can't
remember where Tzenker was? Look back and check... Do make sure
that it is nighttime and not Jinn's Day before you land though.
Now move to where you met Tzenker and a God Beast will be in its
place, well after Flammie flies across the world:

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
No-one really levels up after the battle, but everyone has a "0 Exp
to level up". Carlie and Kevin have it for the next 2 levels. So
when level up, raise Hawk's Agility, Kevin's Strength then
Vitality and Carlie's Intelligence then Intelligence.
Your stats should be:
Carlie, 18272 Exp (Level 16 or 18)
Hawk, 19999 Exp (Level 17 or 18)
Kevin, 18058 Exp (Level 16 or 18)

Now, land somewhere to make sure that everyone is on level 18 (see

into the Mana Holyland and find the statue to class change. Class
change Carlie into a Priestess, Hawk into a Ranger and Kevin into a

Go here - it's the northmost dot on the map. As always, assure that
it's nighttime and not Dryad's Day. Now once you've landed, go

Now, a queer thing about this boss is that it is
possible for only one person to get the Exp. I'm
not sure how it works, but I think the order in
which your characters die affects this. Try to get
only Hawk to be alive when you defeat Mispolm. Many

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
5. Walkthrough - Part 3 (Final Battles)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Firstly, if you're following this guide, you should have learnt Body
Change by now. If you haven't for some reason (like you don't have
Hawk on your team), then you will need to collect some more
ChibiDevil's Eyes... 51 in total (see why I prefer using Body
Change). Also note that I continue to level up Hawk. This enables
you to achive the lowest possible average party level. If you wish,
you can level up other characters instead, so that you can learn
their new second class spells, but you won't be able to achieve the
lowest possible level.
Secondly, you may as well stock yourself full on items, so that you
don't have to later (I had 46479 Luc at this point, so it's a good
idea to use it up). Note that you'll probably want to save some
money to buy weapons/armour later on. Anyways, I recommend you have:
15x Drake's Scale
6x Poseidon's Claw
3x Molebear's Claw
9x Sahagin's Scale
3x Bulette's Scale
3x Bird's Scale
5x Poto Oil
------------------
9x Magic Walnut
20x Round Drop
5x Angel's Grail
Note that I'm also too lazy to write up info on all the forced
battles. When you face a forced battle, just use Hawk's Body Change
or ChibiDevil's Eyes on all the enemies before you beat any. I will
also tell you when you face a forced battle.

It's the only dot on the map - you can't miss it. Anyway, you'll

Talk to the sign on the wall and refuse the offer to get ripped off.
Exit the inn.
: Ancient City Pedan :.
Hmmmm, I wonder how this happened. I mean, doesn't the in have
windows? (the slits do look like windows) Wouldn't anyone have
noticed that everything suddenly changed?
Now you should upgrade some peoples' weapons or armour. Note that
you will not be getting any Weapon/Armor Seeds (if you're following
this guide) so the armour you buy here will be the best. You should
upgrade Hawk's then Kevin's weapons first, then everyone's helmets,
rings then armour. You can get rings from the cats. Note that
when upgrading your weapons, DO NOT GET THE BEST WEAPON! It only
grants 2 extra attack over the cheaper one, which also costs about
13000+ Luc less. Also, you can sell your old weapons/armour if you
need some more money (do not sell your cheapest armour - you can equip
it to allow you to sell your current armour). I was able to upgrade
Hawk's and Kevin's weapon, everyone's helmets and Hawk's armour.
To help you, here are roughly the prices of the 'best' equipment:
Weapons: ~18000+ Luc (Don't buy the ~32000+ Luc ones!)
Armour: ~7000+ Luc
Helmets: ~4000+ Luc
Rings: ~2000+ Luc
After you've shopped around, head into the northmost 'house' and
talk to the old man. Next, head into the westmost 'house' and talk
to the guy there.
Now summon Flammie again and wait till it's the night of Jinn's Day.
Land again in the Jungle.

Carlie and quickly use a multi-target Heal Light.
Focus your attention on the central head. For this
part, DON'T use Hawk's/Kevin's level 2 techs - use
their level 1 techs like normal.
Watch out for DeathSpell - the 'death' effect
can be avoided using the Heal Light trick, or by
loading state :). The most deadly attack, though,
is still Hell Cross.
Remember to only keep Hawk alive before you
defeat Zable!
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, only Hawk will level up - raise his Agility (he
learns Spike). Your stats should now be:
Carlie, 23452 Exp (Level 19)
Hawk, 46939 Exp (Level 23)
Kevin, 23238 Exp (Level 19)
and have about 14000+ Luc.

Now if you want to (and you should, since the next boss is _hard_),
you can go back to Pedan and upgrade your armour or weapons with the
money you earned from bashing up Zable. Call Flammie, and land in
the Jungle of Illusion and head into Pedan to go shopping. I managed
to get everyone's armour upgraded as well as Hawk's ring. After
you're done, return to _this_ place (where you found the Illusion
Mirror - you picked it up right?). Do make sure it's also nighttime.
From here, go south, southwest, west, north, north and heal at the
statue. Now try not to take any damage as you make your way to the
boss.

Name: Deathjester
HP: 12606
Victory: 4041 Luc, 8310 Exp (Real) 0 Exp (Fake Parts)
Type: Fire??? (weak against Ice)
Difficulty: ****½ (Hard)

This guy's insane. Start off the battle using
Poseidon's Claw + Drake's Scale on Kevin and Hawk,
then Bulette's Scale on everyone. If you want to,
you can use Sahagin's Scale on everyone as well.
Okay, not only is he annoying (having two fake
parts) but he does a lot of damage _and_ attacks
fast. You'll be using Heal Light like every two
seconds, literally. Luckily, he takes quite a bit
of damage too (which is why he's not rated 5 stars).
Also, don't use spells or level 2 techs as they
incite him to use level 3 magic against you. His
Death Roulette can also be 'avoided' using the Heal
Light trick. Also remember to use the Chibikko
Hammer to restore status ailments.
Now, before you beat him, make sure you only
have Hawk alive. Also, it's possible to kill off
the 'real' copy before the 'fake' parts die, thus
only giving Hawk the Exp. I'm not too sure how to
do it, so you'll have to keep trying until you can
do it.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, only Hawk will level up, if you can perform the
above trick. Raise Hawk's Strength. This makes your stats:
Carlie, 23452 Exp (Level 19)
Hawk, 55249 Exp (Level 24)
Kevin, 23238 Exp (Level 19)
and you should have about 4600+ Luc.
You can now summon Flammie and buy some upgrades with your newly
earned money (you'll have to go north before you can summon Flammie).
I managed to upgrade Kevin's and Carlie's rings, making everyone fully
upgraded.
After you're done, come back to where you fought DeathJester.

When Genova is about to die, make sure that only

Gildervine is easier than the first time you

Everyone levels up after the battle - raise Carlie's Spirit (she

Carlie, 42232 Exp (Level 22 or 23)
Hawk, 82859 Exp (Level 27)
Kevin, 42018 Exp (Level 22)

Hmm, this time Heath doesn't take forever to
cast a spell (he must have trained a lot).
Anyway, Heath is more annoying than hard. At
the beginning of the battle use Drake's Scale or
Pressure Point on Kevin and Hawk. If you wish, you
can also use Sahagin's Scale on everyone, although
this is unnecessary. Heal any status ailments with
the Hammer, and then use a multi-targetted Heal

As with Lugar, you can pin Heath into a coner or
against a wall. Just keep whacking him and he won't
be able to respond. I managed to take off over
6000 HP before he could do anything.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Everyone levels up after the fight - raise Hawk's and Kevin's

Kevin has also gained a second level, so raise Strength when he

Hawk, 93399 Exp (Level 28)
Kevin, 52558 Exp (Level 23 or 24)
and 18200+ Luc.

Okie dokie then, head across the logs to find yourself in an awful
predicament - the Masked Mage wants to kill you (or is it you who
wants to kill the Masked Mage?).

_________________________/ BOSS FIGHT \_________________________
Name: Kamen no Doushi (Dark Lich/Masked Mage)
HP: 49846
Victory: You get to beat the game - isn't that good
enough?
Type: Dark (weak against Light) - Darkish Background
Tree/Ice (weak against Fire) - Water Background
Light/Earth (weak against Dark/Wind) - Desert BG
Difficulty: **½ (Moderate)

You'd think the last boss would be, like, really
hard, right? Wrong! This battle does take a long
time though.
You may as well use up all your scales, so, put
every scale on everyone! As always, keep pounding
him, healing when necessary. Be aware that his
physical attack is deadly (only Kevin can survive
it). Luckily, he doesn't use it often. DeathSpell
can be 'avoided' using the heal light trick, so the
only time you will need to revive a character should
be when it is hit by a physical attack.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
After the battle, no one levels up - I wonder why. Your stats
should now be:
Carlie, feeling all emotional over Heath
Hawk, with Jessica.... (it really takes a genius to figure this
one out)
Kevin, happy with Karl
and you should have 9999999999999999 Luc, given to you by the faerie.
Anyways (yes, I love that word), congratulations! You've finished
Seiken Densetsu 3 on low level - your average party level should be
25.3

/ 6a Stealing Eyes off the ChibiDevil \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Gathering ChibiDevil's Eyes are essential, if you want to gain the
least possible amount of Exp. They act as an early Body Change. If
your team doesn't have Hawk, or you don't wish to class change him
into a Ranger, then you'll also need ChibiDevil's Eyes at the end of
the game.
Okay, here's how to get 'em. You'll need to get to Palo. Exit
Palo through the only exit and you will be on the Path to the Heavens.
There will be three monsters here:
_____________
_________________________/ BATTLE INFO \________________________
Possible Enemies:
NAME LVL EXP LUC HP ATT DEF MDEF TYPE
Chibi-Devil 8 8 36 68 47 23 6 Dark
NeedleBird 8 6 18 74 46 22 1 Wind
Zombie 8 6 18 90 45 31 1 Dark

Dropped Items:
NAME ITEMS
Chibi-Devil Puipui Grass, Item Seed, ChibiDevil's Eye
NeedleBird Round Drop, Bird's Scale, Storm Coin
Zombie Puipui Grass, Magical Rope, Dreamease Herb

Combinations (Day):
- NeedleBird, NeedleBird, NeedleBird
- NeedleBird, NeedleBird, Chibi-Devil
Combinations (Night):
- NeedleBird, NeedleBird, Chibi-Devil
- Zombie, Zombie, Chibi-Devil
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The idea is to get the ChibiDevil's Eye, also gaining the least
amount of Exp possible.
Okay, now fight the monsters - ensuring that there's a ChibiDevil
out of the three monsters (so make sure your not fighting the three
NeedleBird combination).
Once a chest is dropped, savestate,
then open the chest. If you don't get a ChibiDevil's Eye then
loadstate and open the chest again (ChibiDevil's Eyes are rarely given
- you'll most likely get a Puipui Grass). Also try pushing the chest
around and opening it from different sides. Remember to always use
Hawk to open chests (he has the hightest Luck). You should get
one ChibiDevil's Eye per "Victory!". This procedure _will_ take quite
a while. You can make the procedure quicker by collecting some of the
eyes after you class change (since Hawk's Luck will be boosted to 12).
I just prefer to get all the eyes at once. So you'll need 16 before
you class change (I tell you to get 21, but you can get 5 of them
after you class change). Heal between battles, if you need to, using
Carlie's Heal Light (because her MP can be restored). The monsters
shouldn't be too hard to beat, if you stand on that elevated area, try
to only get one Zombie/NeedleBird to come up at a time. Just make
sure that only one character is alive when you beat any enemy, and you
kill the Chibi-Devil last.
To 'reset' the area, after you've won a battle, go south then east
to the beach, then come back and the enemies should be 'reset'. You
can also exit the area if you're affected by Poison or Small, but
make sure you don't 'reset' the enemies in this case.
If you wish to know where the ChibiDevil's Eyes are used, here's a
list:
LOCATION NO. USED NOTES
Bucca Island 2 Used on the last enemy of the 2
forced battles
Sub-Zero Snowfield 12 Used on all enemies in the 4 forced
battles
Gildervine Battle 2 Used on the two spawns
--------------------[ Class Change ]--------------------
Labyrinth of Ice 3 Used on all enemies in the forced
battle
Valley of Flames 2 Used on all enemies in the forced
battle
------------------[ Hawk learns Body Change ]------------------
Mirage Palace 51 Used on all enemies in forced battles
plus 4 of them are used for spawns in
the Genova/Gildervine battles

If you are ever short on money, you can get some, at the expense of
getting some Exp. If you follow this guide correctly, you will have
sufficient money for most of your needs, but if, for some reason, you
need more money, here how to get it.
Firstly, you have to have visted Palo. Now south of Jad in the
Rabite Forest:

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The aim is to kill the Rabites. You get 18 Luc per Exp. So kill
off the Rabites, making sure that only Hawk (or one character) is
alive, and DO NOT get a "Victory!".
Also, obviously, only do this during daytime.

/ 6d Shell Hunter Stats \
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Since this is a Low Level Guide, you'll be turning quite a few
enemies into Shell Hunters. Note that Shapeshifters can morph into
Shell Hunters, but these are different from Shell Hunters which you
'make'.
The stats of Shell Hunters are as follows:
Level: Same as the original monster
Type: None
Spoils: 0 Luc, 0 Exp, may give a Round Drop
MagDef: 0 or 1
Other stats are dependent on the level:
LEVEL HP ATTACK DEFENSE
1 24 10/11 1
2 [No Level 2 enemies exist]
....needs completion....
Note that once you have transformed a Shell Hunter, it starts off
with its Max HP (ie damage is not carried).

Thanks to all the following!
- Squaresoft for making the game. Plus thanks to the translators
for allowing people like me to be able to play the game.
- TLaG and CMK for their amazing "Beastiary", from which I've taken
most of my enemy stats from.
- AbsoluteZero, who made a low level guide for SD3 - unfortunately
I don't think he ever finished it, but it inspired me to try out
this challenge.
- The people who've made guides for SD3 and the people from the
boards at GameFAQs. I've read and learnt some very interesting
things.
- YOU! For bothering to read this guide! (and put up with me)

Okay then, you are allowed to distribute this guide in any way, as
long as it is in its original (unmodified) form and you don't charge

Also, I don't hold any responsibility on effects, such as spoiling a
