Introduction -- ar1
This is the third title in the Aretha series, which like the others didn't get much praise in
the Japanese community. Most people don't even know much about this game. Aretha 3 was
released on October 16th, 1992. It was developed by JAM and published by Yanoman. JAM wasn't
around very long in the video game development industry. After producing Aretha II and III they
haven't created a game since. Yanoman isn't much better, but they are also responisble for
publishing the great game FEDA: Emblem of Justice. This is an action RPG, unlike the other two
previous ones look like although ive never played them.

Walkthrough -- ar5
This game starts off with your first taste at a battle in the game. You are fighting a huge ice
block and you have a numerous amount of healing potions and attack/support items. I don't think
you can win this battle, but when it's over it starts the main story.
The introduction is rather long and kinda boring, but there are still some parts where there's
some interactivity.
After the fire is put out go into the weapon shop. Some weapons are bought and it seems that
he's charging too much for the weapons and an argument begins. Then goto the weapon shop where
the same situation occurs except with the other two characters.
After the next scene a flood occurs and all the characters are washed away except the main
character.
You will then be washed up ashore and met by a strange wizard. He then joins your party. The
main characters power looks to be ice, while the wizards power is fire. The ice power has more
range but i don't think it's as powerful as the fire spell. This the first time that you are
in full control of the characters. You start out with 17700 Pera, which is money in this game.
Each small coin that an enemy drops gives you 10 Pera, while the large coins give 100 Pera.
You'll notice that as you get more damaged, you change colors with blue being in safe HP range,
green being in caution range, and yellow being in danger range. Go north and then go left. Kill
the blue blob thing to gain a quick level up. Then head north and right to get back to the
beginning area. Then take the north path. Go north again and then take the left path til you
see the sword which will switch to a different scene.
After the scene is over head back and then take the center path. Continue down the path then
open up the box. In the box is a power ring. The ring allows you to take the tops off the
shaking mushrooms and use them as weapons.
Then go back to where you found the sword and head all the way to the right. In the next area
keep going right. There will be a bunch of flower enemies in the next area that can cause a lot
of damage. In this area head southeast and take the exit in the south. In this area take the
path in the southwest. In the next area there is a box that contains 6 small potions. Then go
to the path in the west. In this area there is a box that contains 10 antidote potions, while
watching out for the giant mushroom enemies that can poison you. Head to the north and be
prepared to fight a giant mushroom boss. He can often paralyze you to prevent you to use any
items and slowly take away your health causing you to be killed. Other than that just pummel
him with the fire weapon or ice weapon and he will die.
You will then be dragged back into town by the wizard and then collapse because of the poison.
After waking up in a house watch the cut scene, then procede south. Goto the shops and buy some
new weapons and armor along with some items if you want to.
Then go back to the house where the wizard is resting and talk to the green caped guy. Then
go south and took the the girl and she should spilt into two people a purple person and a
yellow person. Then go back to the green hooded person and talk to him. If this doesn't work
talk to everyone in the town and then try it again.
After the cut scene the wizard will then rejoin your party. Go south and buy some weapons and
armor for him by switching characters. Then goto the girl that will then spilt into three
people and start to dance. Then goto the east and talk to the guy in the first house. Then
talk to the woman outside of the house. Then go back to the green robbed guy and talk to him.
Then go south and then east and on the far east side of the this area talk to the woman there.
Then go back to the guys house that has the 3 strawberry things in it to get a strawberry. Go
back to the green robbed guy and talk to him.
Now you are able to enter the house above the green robbed guy's house.
-- Floor 1 --
Go north and take the left path if you want to gain a lot of experience, otherwise go up the
stairs.
-- Floor 2 --
Kill the enemies and then open the two chests for 1000 Pera and a L-Up support item. Then go
up the stairs to Floor 3.
-- Floor 3 --
Run past the enemies or kill them since they are quite hard. Take the left path since you can't
go up yet. Keep going left then search the middle bookcase. After touching the middle bookcase
you will have to fight four books. Defeat these books and then a secret passage will open behind
the bookcase which will be a set of stairs leading down.
-- Floor 2 --
Defeat these enemies then grab the 2000 pera out of the chest. Then take the left set of stairs
down to get a P-Up support item out of the chest. Jump up by the rope to pull the switch. Then
head back up the steps and head up the right set of stairs. The path that was blocked will
now be open.
-- Floor 3 --
Go through the path and then go right again. The door that wasn't open before is open now so
go through it. Take the left path to get a new shield and a P-Up. Then jump off the edge.
-- Floor 1 --
Jump up and pull the switch. Grab the purple diamond and large potion out of the chests. Then
head left. Head left again killing the enemies along the way. When you get the room with the
wire-like guys head up the steps.
-- Floor 2 --
Kill the enemies and grab the orange potion and purple diamond out of the chest. Then go up the
stairs.
-- Floor 3 --
Kill the enemies or run past them if you think they are too hard. Keep going to the right and
you'll come upon another bookcase place. Search the fourth bookcase from the left and you'll
have to fight four books again. After beating them the bookcase opens a passage. Go down the
passage to the second floor.
-- Floor 2 --
Kill the candlesticks and then open the chest for some orange potions. Go left and open the
chest. Inside is a weapon enhancer for the wizard. Continue along and then go down the steps
to the a chest containing a L-Up. Jump up and grab the rope to pull the switch then go back up
the steps. Go up the steps again and the path will be open now similar to the other side of the
tower.
-- Floor 3 --
Continue left and the door the was closed will now be open so enter it. Head right, while you
avoid the hole. Grab the star out of the chest on the top and then grab the L-Up out of the
chest in the bottom. Then head back left and jump down the hole.
-- Floor 1 --
Open the two chests for Heart Bow and a L-Up. Then jump up and grab the rope to pull the switch
down. Be prepared to fight the boss in the door to the north. Head right and through the door
if you don't think you're ready to fight him. This boss is very difficult. I recommend using
the wizard with his red diamond weapon for this battle. It gives you a considerate range to
avoid getting hit when he moves and when he throws his shields at you.
After this you'll be in a new part of the tower.
Go through the north door and meet one of the main characters partners. After the scene you
are given an item, L-Up i think.
Then go back and go left and then northwest. Watch out for the guys that move quickly at you
so you don't get damaged. Take the left path for the top path is a dead end. The left contains
two chests with some purple guards that aren't too difficult.
Take the only open path in the room to the next area. There are three chests in this room that
have 2 orange potions, a full restore, and a L-Up. Then take the exit in the south of the
room. In this room, you'll find an accessory that allows you to get passed the blue things
you couldn't get passed before in the beginning of the tower area with the ghost things.
Get on the platform to get elevated to where the blue ghosts are. You can use these to hit
enemies as well. Kill the enemy then jump on the spring to the other side. Enter through the
door and then kill the enemies. Take the left or the top path either one doesn't matter. It
looks like you can't get passed so to get passed use the strawberry you got earlier to turn
mini allowing you to get passed the skeletons. Then enter through the area in the northwest.
You don't have to use the strawberry for this part but it makes it easier to fit through.
In this area there are some chests containing 2 medium potions, 4 orange potions, and a skull
accessory. Once you're done in this area head through the exit in the southwest.
There are lot of chests in this area too. Grab the red ghost accessory, L-Up, 3000 Pera, and
a blue shield in this area. Exit through the south.
Go right and enter through the door again. Take the top path. You'll notice that one of the
skeletons is missing his head so put the head in the skeleton. You will then hear a sound so
continue on your way. The chest that was blocked before will now be open. In the chest is a
key to save your friend.
So go back to the entrance and then take the top path to where she is being held. Be sure to
equip the key on you first.
There will be another scene with your friend and an unknown person. You will then have to fight
the giant ice block similar to the one in the beginning of the game.
After beating him you will rescue the friend and the unknown person will the be person that you
fought with at the beginning of the game.
There will then be a blast in the floor in which you will jump down and be paired with the main
character and the friend. The weird things walking around appear to be insects.
Keep going right and talk to the people that are in the bar. Then keep going right until the
last screen. Talk the the blue ant in the house thing and then talk to the the guy in the
Northwest. After this go back to the bar and talk to the lady on the counter and she should
give you a letter. Talk to the gray colored guy sitting at the table and he should take the
letter from you. Then report back to the lady at the counter.
Go right a couple of screens and then go talk to the light blue colored ants and they should
let you pass through now.
i would use the sword woman with the ice sword for this area since the range of the ice sword is
a half circle and does decent damage. Or stick with the other girl and her blue circle which has
a 25 higher ATC, but not as long of a range. She is also probably at a higher level.
My level at this time: ice girl: 29, sword girl, 24
Grab the chest out of this room and then go north and grab the chest out of that room. After
this go back to the entrance and then take the left path. Then head north until the cut scene
begins.
You can now jump across the white circle things into the water. Jump off one of the white circle
things nearby you and go north to grab the P-Up and Blue Potion out of the chests. Then go
back south and take the west exit to the next screen. Then take the north path in the next
area. Head northwest and grab the two chests and then jump up the white circle onto the land.
Talk to the guards and then go south. Watch for the armodillos because they do a lot of damage
if you get hit and they move very quickly. Take the first exit to the west. You'll be blocked
two times from going past. Exit and then come back and you should be greeted by your other
companions. After the cut scene head back to the town area.
Restock on items if you need to, then goto the light blue colored ant on the right side and
go through that path.
I'll have more of the walkthrough completed next time. Til then, enjoy!
