Overall - 75%

Gameplay - Realm has great gameplay, with lots of climbing and shooting.
Limited ammo creates more need for strategy than most side scrollers.

Story - As far as i can tell, there isn't one.

Sound - The sound in this game is fair. The background music varies
enough to not make you go insane and smash the TV. :)

Graphics - The graphics in this game surprised me, a lot. There are a lot
of nice touches that bring the game to life. Lighting throughout the
levels that changes as if the sun was moving, and slight color variations
throughout the scenery give the game a more pleasing feel.

Replayability - This is one thing Realm lacks. After you beat the game
for the first time, replaying it is almost NO fun at all.

4. STORY/CHARACTERS

Since i was unable to obtain the original manual for Realm and nothing
is explained in-game, i cannot tell you the storyline or any information
about the main character.

5. THE BOSSES
------------------------

Evil Tree Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 2/5

The first and easiest boss in the game is the Evil Tree boss. You must
defeat both forms of him to pass. His first attacks are balls of light
that he throws of of his hands, but those can easily be rendered useless by
jumping over them. Defeating his hands is done with little effort if you
use the homing gun. After the hands are gone, he will shoot strings of
blue light balls at you from his mouth and where his hands used to be.
The strings shot from his mouth will bounce over you if you position
yourself right, but you will need to jump over the strings shot from his
hands. After you destroy his head, the Evil Tree will explode, revealing
his second form, the Evil Tree Brain. The brain will bob in and out of the
the tree trunk left behind by the Evil Tree, you can only hit it while it
is out. It will release red balls into the air that will harm you if you
touch them, so destroy most of them before aiming for the brain. The
homing gun is best for this. After you destroy the brain, Evil Tree boss
is defeated.

Statue Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 1/5

The Statue bosses only form of attack is shooting fireballs out of its orb.
Avoid going close to it because it will suck you in, and after that, it can
easily hit you. Stand far back and shoot it in the head with any gun, but
be sure to dodge the strings of fireballs it shoots out of its orb.

Dragon Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 1/5

The Dragon Boss has only one attack, flying into you. Avoid it as much as
possible, and use a high damage gun such as the Large Laser or Tri-Gun to
attack it with. Also, avoid going to close to the ledges of the platforms,
because you might fall off.

Demon Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 3/5

The Demon Boss has 2 forms of attack, the fireball it launches from its hands,
and a lightning storm it shoots from its mouth. As you are running towards it
charge up your charge gun to full force, shoot it once and it will fly up in
the air and move to the left. Once it lands back down, it will shoot one
fireball, then do a lightning storm. Jump the fireball, then run away from him
to avoid the lightning storm. Shoot as often as possible while you are doing
this.

Floating Skull Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 1/5

The Floating Skull boss has 2 forms of attack. It can shoot stars out of its
eyes and small skulls out of its mouth. When you first encounter it, attack it
for a few seconds, and it will fly up the cave. In the room you are in, shoot
the red button. That will activate an elevator rock on the floor that will
take you up to fight the skull. Use your Homing Gun to take out the smaller
skulls floating around the large main skull, then use the Chain Gun to finish
off the main skull. Beware, after you defeat him, multiple skeleton warriors
will appear out of nowhere to avenge his death.

Scorpion Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 1/5

The Scorpion bosses only have one attack, a lunge with their barbed tail. To
avoid this, stay in the water until they attack. Then, jump back onto the land
and shoot them with your Homing Gun, and jump back into the water before they
attack again. Repeat this process until the Scorpion bosses are defeated.

Evil Eye Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 4/5

The Evil Eye Boss has 2 different forms, and 1 attack for each form. His first
looks like a big ball of jelly. You will notice that there are 3 platorms
sticking out of the wall to the left of where the Evil Eye is floating up
and down. Shooting these platforms will cause them to fly out of the wall and
shoot towards the Evil Eye. Time your shots well and the platforms will hit
the Evil Eye. Be sure to avoid his Lightning Bolts. Once you have hit him
enough times he will start to blink from orange to green. After that his jelly
coating will wear off. Use your Tri-Gun or Chain Gun to finish him off.
Beware of his lightning field attack, jump from platform to platform to avoid
it.

Space Ship Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 2/5

The Space Ship boss has 2 forms, and 1 attack with each form. The first form
is the whole Space Ship. It will shoot dual lasers out of its nose. Avoid
these and use the Boomerang gun to attack it. It will explode and only the
nose will be left. Use a heavy damage gun, such as the charge gun, to
eliminate it. It will shoot a lightning field out of its nose, avoid this by
staying to the left or right of it.

Motorcycle Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 1/5

The Motorcycle boss has 2 forms of attack, bombs and fireballs. To avoid these
just manuever your boat back and forth with the left and right joydpad buttons.
Use a high damage gun such as the Missle Launcher to defeat the Motorcycle
boss.

Sea Robot Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 3/5

The Sea Robot boss has 2 forms of attack, fireballs and floating mines. To
avoid being hit by the fire balls, stay far to the left before he shoots them,
and move back towards the right underneath them as they are in the air. To
disable the floating mines charge your charge gun completely, jump, and shoot
them. Use your charge gun to shoot the Sea Robot as often as possible. The
Sea Robot Alternates between fireballs and floating mines.

Giant Robot Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 4/5

The Giant Robot has 4 forms of attack, a flamethrower, strings of fireballs,
missiles, and a lightning gun. To avoid the flamethrower/lightning
gun/missles, stand on the highest box and jump. To avoid the strings of
fireballs, stand right beside the Giant Robots legs. Whenever you are standing
beside his legs, shoot up to damage him. Otherwise, stand on the first box and
shoot horizontal. After you destroy all of his weapons besides the missiles,
you will have to shoot the man operating the Giant Robot to defeat it. Use a
high damage gun such as the missile launcher to defeat the Giant Robot.

Helicopter Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 1/5

The Helicopter boss has 2 forms of attack, bombs and a claw. Avoid both the
bombsand the claw and use your Charge gun to defeat the Helicopter boss. Be
careful not to fall off of your Mini-Plane while fighting.

Wizard Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 3/5

The Wizard boss has 1 form of attack, his twin dragons. To avoid the twin
dragons, duck down in one of the holes, and jump right before they hit you.
Use your Charge Gun(fully charged) to attack him whenever you have a free
moment. 10-12 fully charged shots defeat the Wizard boss.

Giant Insect Robot Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 2/5

The Giant Insect Robot boss has 1 form of attack, its lightning balls. It
will trap you inbetween its legs for the entire battle, randomly shooting out
lightning balls at times. Dodge the lightning balls by jump/running back and
forth. Use a rapid fire gun such as the Chain Gun to defeat the Giant Insect
Robot boss.

Twin Frog Robot Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 3/5

The Twin Frog Robot boss only has 1 form of attack, its giant green lasers.
To dodge these, simply stand under neath each of the robots as you attack it.
After destroying one, it will fall, and you will have to destroy the other.

Giant Cyborg Boss
------------------------ DIFFICULTY 3/5

The Giant Cyborg boss has 3 forms, and one attack type with each form. The
first form is The plain Giant Cyborg, and its only attack is its flying blades.
To Dodge these, simply jump as they fly towards your feet. Use your Charge Gun
(fully charge) to shoot at it. Eventually, the Giant Cyborg will turn bright
red. Then, it will use its gun. To dodge the bullets of its gun, you will
have to stand directly under the gun. Then, shoot up with your fully charged
Charge Gun to defeat this form. After that, the Giant Cyborg will turn into
a floating Torso of the Giant Cyborg. Its only form of attack is its lasers.
To dodge these attempt to stay underneath the floating torso. Use any weapon
you have to defeat this form.

8. LEVEL WALKTHROUGHS
------------------------

(Tips on how to beat the bosses are located in the Section 5.)

LEVEL 1: The Forest
=========================
You will begin by running out of a cave into the forest. Immediately jump
up a few branches of the tree you are standing under and grab the AD350,
otherwise known as the homing pistol. Start moving right while defeating
the swarms of Bat Demons that dive down upon you. You will reach a large
tree stump, shoot it until it explodes and pick up the TR1, otherwise known
as the Tri-Gun. Keep running right, when you reach the third tree climb up
until you reach a wooden platform. Head left by jumping across the floating
skull platforms. Climb the first tree you see to reach another wooden
platform. Head right across the bridges while facing off against multiple
Winged Demons. Eventually you will reach the Evil Tree boss. After defeating
it, fireballs will begin raining from the sky. Carefully make your way down
the brances of the trees. Once you reach the bottom you will be faced with
the Statue Boss. Once you're past the Statue you will have to make your way
through a series of floating skull platforms. Each platform has its own
button, stand on the platform and shoot the button to move the platform 90
degrees until you line it up to jump to the next platform. You will have
to be wary of the Tree Golems, because they will attack you if you come to
close. Once at the top, you will have to cross another series of floating
skull platforms to reach the Dragon boss. When you jump on the first
platform a Homing Gun will fall from the sky just to the left of you.
When you jump on the fourth platform a Large Laser Gun will fall just to
the left of you. Once you cross all the platforms you will face the Dragon
boss. After Defeating the Dragon you will go ride down an elevator
type machine between two trees. As you go down, the tree will come alive in
certain spots and shoot fireballs at you, use your Homing Gun to take them out.
Once you reach the bottom head to your right and you will fight the Demon
Boss. After you beat the Demon boss, you have beat Level 1.

LEVEL 2: The Cave
=========================

You start out on a floating wooden platform. Once you jump into the cave,
shoot the red button to get rid of all the water blocking your way. If you
jump into the water without shooting the button, you will drown. After
you shoot the button a rock will come out and you can ride it down. Once
you reach the bottom, make your way to the right until you reached the
giant chained up lizard. Defeat him (which isnt hard, considering he
cant attack you at all, hehe), and the cave will start to fall in around
you. Hide under the rock overhang until all the boulders have fell, then
make your way back to the left. One of the waterfalls will now have a rock
on it that will take you down even further into the cave. Once at the
bottom, head to the right. Watch out for underground geysers and worms
that will break through the surface and harm you. After you pass the
worms, you will reach a section of cave many holes. The water level will
rise and fall and you must jump across the holes while staying about the
water, otherwise you will take damage. The higher points will remain
above water so run and stop on each one of those. Once you pass that
section you will encounter the Floating Skull boss. After defeating
the Floating Skull boss continue to your right until you see another
red button, shoot it. This will active another rock elevator which
will take you back down into the cave. Hop onto the purple Crawler, as
it takes you across the cave, use your Homing Gun to shoot the various
enemies hanging from the ceiling. Once the Crawler stops, jump onto the
land to fight the Scorpion bosses. After this you continue going right
and you will find yourself face to face with the Evil Eye boss. After
you defeat it, you have beat Level 2.

Level 3: City on the Sea
=========================

Once you begin, head to your right. To get up to the second level of the
city, jump onto the small ledge on the side of the farthest building to the
right, and jump up. Run left, once you reach the farthest building, climb
up the ledges and there you will have to fight a statue mini-boss. He throws
lightning bolts, but is fairly easily dispatched with any high damage gun.
Continue to your right and you will see a huge Bat Statue mini-boss, defeat
him with your homing missile. The building he was on will explode, sending
enrage bats flying out to attack you. Continue right to find 2 crystals,
collect the items from them and retrace your steps back to the building
that exploded. Climb up it to face another Statue mini-boss, then walk
across the bridge to your right. The Space Ship boss will start to attack
you. Evade its attacks and keep moving to the right. Eventually the Space
Ship boss will shoot the ground out from underneath you, and you will start
to fall. While you are falling, you will fight the Space Ship boss. After
defeating the Space Ship boss and landing back on the ground, continue
to the right. Jump into the boat, and you will begin to fight the Motorcycle
boss. After defeating the Motorcycle boss, continue right in the boat while
facing off against the many enemies that fly down from above. Stay on the
right side of the screen, because most of the enemies come from the left.
Eventually you will encounter the Sea Robot boss. Once you reach land, run
to the left. You will reach a series of elevators, take them up. Then,
continue going right until you reach a broken building. Climb up it and
continue right again. You will reach a hole, go down it and continue right
again. Here you will face the Giant Robot boss. After defeating the Giant
Robot boss, you have beat Level 3.

Level 4: Airship
=========================

As soon as you start the Airship level, climb to the top of the airship and
begin running right. Watch out for the lasers that shoot from the ground.
Once you reach the end of the ship, jump down 2 levels. Take out the gunner
on the right, you will have to crouch and shoot to hit him. Continue down
and jump into the Mini-Plane. As you are flying you will be assaulted by
many Jetpack Men, use your charge gun to defeat them. You will reach another
Airship, climb to the top and run right. Once you reach the end, climb down
two levels and board another Mini-Plane. As you are flying, you will face the
Helicopter Boss. Once you defeat the Helicopter Boss, you will have to climb
aboard the last Airship in this level to fight the Wizard Boss. After you
defeat the Wizard Boss, you have beat Level 4.

Level 5: Tunnel
=========================

As soon as you step off of the first platform, begin moving right. Go down the
second elevator. Continue right until you reach a ledge, then jump off. Run
to the right after that, and go down the elevator. Continue right until you
fight the Giant Insect Robot Boss. Continue to the right after defeating it.
Watch out for the lasers coming out of the ground. You will reach a series
of ledges, drop down them and continue right until you see an elevator. Go
down the elevator, drop down the ledge to your right, then run left. Ride
the machine through the tunnel, then go up the blue light beam and continue
to the left. Go up another blue light beam and then go to your right. Collect
all the crystals then head back and ride the machine back through the tunnel.
To your right will be an elevator, take it all the way to the top of the level.
Then, continue right to face the Twin Frog Robot Boss. After defeating the
Twin Frog Robot Boss, the platform you are on will begin to fall. Once you
hit the bottom, you will face off with the Giant Cyborg Boss. After beating
the Giant Cyborg Boss, you have beat Level 5, and all of Realm!

9. HINTS/TIPS/GENERAL
------------------------

- Every Golden Crystal will release Ammo Orbs/Armor Shields/Extra Lives when
shot multiple times.

- Your score is displayed in the Bottom Center portion of the screen.

- Your lives are displayed in the bottom left of the screen.

- Your health is located at the top left of the screen.

- Your weapon status is located at the top right of the screen.

10. RUMORED CHEATS
------------------------

This cheat code does not work, but has been rumored to.

Cheat mode:
Hold Up + X + B + R + Start at the title screen until the screen fades.
Unlimited energy will be available during the game. Press Start + Select
during game play to jump to the next level.
