****** Introduction ******

This walkthrough for Rastan was created because I could not find any
walkthroughs for it. Rastan is a side-scrolling action adventure platform game.
The player controls are barbarian who has to rescue a princess who is
imprisoned somewhere in the dangerous land of Semia. Different weapons and
defensive items are available as well as medicine and magic. The game is not an
RPG and items are used and activated as soon as they are collected.

This FAQ is split up into several sections.
These are:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Technical Information ******

Rastan was released on the Sega Master System in 1989 by Taito.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** My Experience With The Game ******

I first played this game in 1992 after my brother purchased it from a mail
order advertisement in Sega Power Magazine. I immediately took a shine to it
but after we completed it it became very boring so my brother swapped it for
Sonic 2. It was not until 2001 that I played this game again and I now own it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Story/Object Of The Game ******

(From the instruction manual)
"This is the story of a barbarian who battled destiny with cold steel ... and
won. His name was Rastan. He was a bounty hunter by trade, in a savage land
ruled by cutthroats and villains. Rastan was a giant of a man with muscles of
iron and the scars of many a bloody battle. It was known by all that where
Rastan strode, death was soon to follow. But not even the seers with their
rune stones could see what fate held in store for Rastan. One thing was
certain. Rastan would let no man ... or God ... control his destiny!
It began when the king called him to the royal courts. He asked Rastan to
rescue his daughter. She was being held in the darkest reaches of Semia; a
region where even the foulest thieves feared to go. In return, the king
promised Rastan untold riches!
Rastan sharpened his Barbarian Sword and set out to rescue the princess. The
rest is history..."

You can't get more classic than that really. This game has all the makings of a
great adventure: a princess has been kidnapped and is being held hostage in a
land guarded by evil magic and fearsome foes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** How To Play ******

-Use the D-Pad to move left and right

-Press down to duck and climb down ropes. (Rastan can't climb up or down
swinging ropes.)

-Press up to climb up ropes. (Rastan can't climb up or down swinging
ropes.) Also used to high jump.

-Diagonals up-left and up-right on the D-Pad are used to jump in that direction
when used with Button 2.

-Press Button 1 to attack with your weapon.

-Press Button 2 to jump. Combine with up on the D-Pad to do a high jump.

-Jump and then press Button 1 with down on the D-Pad. Rastan will strike the
weapon downwards in a more powerful attack.

-Press Button 1 and up on the D-Pad. Rastan will do an up thrust attack from
below. This is useful for flying enemies.

-Jump in the direction of a wall. When Rastan hits the wall, press jump and
the opposite direction. Rastan will jump on the wall and go up. This technique
can be done repeatedly until Rastan reaches the top; just keep zig-zagging
from wall to wall.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Enemies ******

If too much time is taken on a level, darkness falls and bats and bees come in
large numbers. Please be aware that the enemies are endless. No matter how many
you slay, more will come so don't try and "clear" the area before you move on
because it's impossible to do so.

Bee: 200 Points
This enemy will go up to you and attack you by constantly touching you and
following you. The best strategy is to jump high and up and down thrust with
the sword.

Bat: 100 Points
Complete the stages quickly to avoid these as they only come at night in the
earlier rounds of the game. The bats are very difficult to kill and can take a
lot of health away due to their speed and maneuverability. It's usually best to
run away from them but if you must kill them use the same strategy for killing
the bee.

Snake: 200 Points
They appear on the ground where they try to bite you. Running away isn't
usually a good option since they can traverse walls and other obstacles. Duck
and hit them to kill them. They are also dropped by Gorgons; this variety is
best dispatched while they're falling but if they do land, kill them in the
same way as you do the normal ones. The ones dropped from Gorgons also do not
leave any items.

Flying Fish: 0 Points
These keep apperaing and can be annoying if you are climbing a rope. Just swing
the sword and hope or run away.
Never leaves an item.

Gardis: 300 Points
These are very easy if you kill them before you they hit you otherwise they
can hurt you quite a lot.

Swordthings: 400 Points
These take three hits with a weak weapon and you must duck when attacking
otherwise they are deadly.

Mantis: 200 Points
These throw clubs at you high and low but can be killed with two hits.
Attack the clubs it throws to remove them too.

Axethings: 800 Points
These will throw axes and can duck too. The best strategy is to attack
immediately and if you get hit keep hurting them till they die.

Harpie: 500 Points
These will hover in the air and swoop down. Up thrust with the sword when they
do to kill them.

Macethings: 700 Points
These have a longer reach than the Swordthings and can be a nuisance. Again,
duck when attacking them. When they duck and hit you don't try and avoid their
attacks as they'll get you eventually. Just keep at them till they die.

Kemmler: 300 Points
These are like lions that shoot. They go towards you and then start shooting
short range fireballs. Keep your distance and try to get them from as far away
as you can.

Wizard: 800 Points
These never hurt; instead they will throw scrolls at you which will take your
weapon, shield or armour. This doesn't usually matter unless you have the Fire
Sword. Try to duck until the scrolls pass over you then kill them.

Meduza: 500 Points
These will shoot gas at you. Duck and hit to kill.

Gorgon: 700 Points
This will fly and drop snakes which although act like normal snakes won't
leave any items. Up thrust with the sword to dispatch them.

Spartoy: 900 Points
This looks like a skeleton. It sinks in the ground when attacked. The best
strategy is to jump and down thrust for a one hit kill.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Evil Lords Of Semia ******

Here is a list of the bosses and the points you get for defeating them. Details
on the strategy needed to defeat them is in the game walkthrough.

Kentorous (5000 Points) is the boss of round 1.

Slayer (10000 Points) is the boss of round 2.

Shukumas (15000 Points) is the boss of round 3.

Aryous (20000 Points) is the boss of round 4.

Fedorak (25000 Points) is the boss of round 5.

Read Dragon (30000 Points) is the boss of round 6.

Dragon ? is the boss of round 7.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Offensive Items ******

You will gain extra points by obtaining and using these items. When getting a
weapon you must touch your weapon to it and not just the body or you won't get
it. These are temporary and will run out after a short period of time. It's
good practice to get every weapon you see as they really do run out swiftly. My
advice would be not to get a weapon only if you recently got the Fire Sword. If
you've had the Fire Sword for a while, get the new weapon as it will likely run
out soon and ideally you don't want to be left with the Barbarian Sword in a
difficult situation.

Barbarian Sword -- 0 Points
You start off with this weapon. Although it is the worst weapon in the game it
is still effective at killing enemies and it's possible to complete the game
using only this weapon.

Battle Axe -- 200 Points
This weapon is strong and will kill all enemies in one hit.

Mace -- 300 Points
This has a better reach than the first two weapons but is weaker than
the axe.

Fire Sword -- 0 Points
The Fire Sword will shoot fire and is basically like a gun. It is very
powerful and kills everything first time. Similarly to the Cloth, for some
reason the fireballs will not kill the Flying Fish. You will have to get close
and hack at them with the sword itself to kill them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Defensive Items ******

Like the weapons, these are temporary and are quite useful.

Shield -- 1000 Points
This halves the damage done to you by projectiles, fireballs etc.

Mantle -- 1500 Points
This will halve the damage done to you if an enemy touches you.

Armour -- 2000 Points
This is a combined shield and mantle so will halve the damage done to
you by anything.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Special Items ******

These items are always dropped by enemies and can be picked up by touching
them with Rastan's body.

Medicine 1
1000 Points
Recovers 16% of total health. The effect is hardly noticeable. It looks like a
round bottle half filled with blue potion.

Medicine 2
2000 Points
This recovers 32% of total life and is good. It looks like a round bottle
completely filled with blue potion.

Poison 1
10000 Points
This is bad as it reduces total life by 8% but it gives a lot of points if you
are aiming for a high score. It looks like a triangular bottle half filled with
red potion.

Poison 2
20000 Points
This is bad as it reduces total life by 16% but it gives a lot of points if you
are aiming for a high score. It looks like a triangular bottle completely
filled with red potion.

Golden Sheep
1000 Points
Fully recovers your life. A very rare and very useful item indeed.

Ring
1500 Points
When getting this all the points from enemies, items etc. will be doubled.

Rod
2000 Points
This increases the time a defensive item will last.

Necklace
1000 Points
This increases the time your weapon will last. This can be very useful.

Cloth
0 Points
Destroys all enemies on the screen except the fish and gives no points. This
can be very useful.

Jewellery
Pick up these gem stones for extra points. Don't get them if they're in
dangerous places as they really are not worth it.
Blue: 1000 Points
Pink: 2000 Points
Red: 3000 Points

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Levels ******

Rastan has 7 rounds each of which is split into 3 stages.

The first stage is outside. It's usually a mountain or a forest but I'll go
into greater detail below.

The second stage is indoors. In the earlier rounds it is a castle but from
Round 4 it is a cave of some sort.

The third stage is always a room containing an Evil Lord of Semia which is
basically a boss battle to the death. In these rooms Rastan's health will
slowly decrease point by point until death so not only have you to defeat the
powerful Evil Lords of Semia but you must do so quickly. From this point on
I'll refer to them as bosses.

The only exception is Round 7 which has no outside stage. Rastan starts off
each stage of Round 7 inside a castle although admittedly, these stages are
twice as long as normal making up for a lack of outside stage.

It is important also to complete the first and second stages as quickly as
possible because after a while it will get dark. It doesn't get dark
immediately; first, it gets darker and then after a while complete blackness
follows. This causes two problems: firstly, Bats will come out and attack you
and secondly, you can't see where you're going. Remember that this happens in
the second stage too.

If you die, you lose a continue. You have three continues with which to
complete the game. Once these are used up, it's game over.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

****** Walkthrough ******

ROUND 1

Stage 1

We start off in a desolate mountain range. Many Gardises will attack here.
Dispatch them all, take the things they drop and move on. You will come to a
block that looks quite different from the rest of the landscape. Simply jump
and down thrust to remove it and go down the hole. More Gardises will be in
here. Kill them, jump to take the Mace and climb up the rope or jump off the
wall to get back up. More Gardises will be at the top. Only kill the ones on
the right of the screen and never go back to kill them because like all enemies
their supply is endless. You'll soon get to a waterfall. Try not to touch the
water because Semia's water is poisonous. Jump onto the stepping stones, kill
any Gardises here and move on. You'll eventually arrive at a steep drop. If you
can grab the swinging rope here, you can make it across the pit and grab the
Fire Sword but if you fail, don't worry, just fall into the pit, kill the
Harpie and take the Battle Axe before moving on to the right. Kill the
Kemmlers, the Gardises and the Harpies that may appear while jumping on the
platforms over the water and climb the rope up to the top. If you didn't get it
before, you can go back for the Fire Sword before advancing to the right. Cross
the bridge, kill more enemies and go through the door to reach Stage 2.

Stage 2

From here, advance to the right. Jump carefully over the fire pits while
avoiding the flames that go up and down. Kill any enemies including Swordthings
that are in front of you. Climb the rope at the end but be careful as spears
will protrude from the wall while you climb. Avoid them and when you get to the
top, jump down and kill the Kemmlers and Gardises that appear. From here you
have a choice of where to go. Climb up the rope for a shorter way to the exit
but avoid the spears; carry on left for a Mace and another longer rope which
will lead to the exit. Be aware that this rope contains more spears. Near the
exit door might be a few more Swordthings; dispatch them and go through the
door to meet the first boss.

Stage 3

The boss here is Kentorous. He's a centaur-like creature and is quite easy to
defeat. Simply stand on the upper platform, wait for him to walk underneath you
and jump and down thrust your sword. Do this thrice to kill him. When he's dead
you'll automatically go to the next round so there's no need to find an exit.

*******************************************************************************

ROUND 2

Stage 1

Rastan starts in a green jungle/forest setting. Depending upon how quickly
you did the previous stage you might still have a weapon. I sometimes still
have the Fire Sword. Anyway, this stage can take a bit of time so make sure
you complete it before it gets dark. Move towards the right, kill the Gardises,
Kemmlers, Harpies, and new addition: the Mantises. Jump on the bobbing block
and jump off before it sinks beneath the water. Grab the axe from the top of
the tree trunk and go down and deal with a few more Kemmlers and Gardises.
After you cross more water by jumping on another bobbing block and then to a
swinging rope, you'll come to a another river. The platform here lasts about a
second before it drops. Use it to jump to the swinging rope and then to the
moving platform. Keep going right and you'll come to a place with a tree and a
log separating two discrete paths: top and bottom. Before you embark on the
top path, notice the Fire Sword high above which is seemingly unreachable. To
get it, take the top path, and do a high jump to the left once on the path to
try and get on the branch to the left. This can be quite tricky to pull off.
Try to do a high jump to the left once to get on the edge of the branch and
then do a small jump in the air to get fully on the branch. If you can't do it
first time just keep practising and you'll get there eventually. Once on the
branch, jump to get the Fire Sword. Go back to the top path, kill more Kemmlers
and Gardises and stop at the edge of the river. Here is a bit of river with
two ropes and lots of Flying Fish. Be sure to time your jumps from rope to
rope. The easiest way is to try and grab the very bottom of the rope to give
you maximum maneuverability. Jump onto the moving platform and then too the
other side but it doesn't matter too much if you fall in the water - just don't
do it too much as your health will keep going down bit by bit. The last bridge
has no gaps and so there's no danger of falling in water just try to kill all
the Flying Fish while fending off Kemmlers, Mantises and Gardises. The exit
should be in sight now. Go through it to get to the next stage.

Stage 2

You start in a purplish-grey castle. A mace is in sight but it's on top of some
protruding spears. There is a way to get it without getting hurt though. Do a
small jump to the left platform and try to do a high jump off the wall from it
towards the Mace. You should land right against the far wall. Wait for the
spears to go down and jump back. Head left and then up. Destroy the block to
get up and kill the Swordthings and Macethings. Fall down but don't destroy the
block yet as a Battle Axe is on the right. Down thrust onto the enemies here
(this should kill them first time), get the Battle Axe, down thrust the block
and head to the right. Jump over the spears or wait for them to sink then walk
over them - it's your choice. Kill the Swordthings and Macethings and climb up
hill bit. Go on the platforms (don't worry, they won't sink) and jump from here
to the rope ignoring the bobbing platform below. At the top, jump off to the
left, avoid the spears and slide down. Go up this rope avoiding the fire ball
and jump off to the right. Kill any enemies, duck under the crushing ceiling
and enter the boss arena.

Stage 3

The boss here is Slayer. If you still have the Battle Axe you're at an
advantage but if not it doesn't matter. The boss will just need a few more
hits. Slayer will fly up and swoop down shooting three fireballs as it does.
Use all the attacks you have. When it's above, up thrust (this can be
devastating with the axe); when it's below, jump and down thrust and when it's
next to you, just swipe. Slayer should be dead in no time. Try not to get into
a direct one-on-one with it as you'll find that your health will go down fast.
Instead try to force Slayer to fly above or below so you can punish it with
thrust attacks.

*******************************************************************************

ROUND 3

Stage 1

You'll start off in a cave. Jump up, kill the enemies and avoid the rolling
block. Carefully jump over each hole. If you fall in, simply use the wall jump
technique to get out. Kill the Harpies, Bees, Gardises, Gorgons and Spartoys
here. Keep jumping over the holes, grab the Mace and stop. The next hole has
mud falling down it. Wait for it to pass, then cross. Jump on the bobbing block
while avoiding the Flying Fish and jump off the other side. Next, traverse the
waterfall by jumping on the stepping stones while killing Mantises and
Spartoys. In the brick area, be careful of the protruding spears and move on to
another bobbing block in water with Flying Fish. After more spears, enemies and
holes you'll get to a swinging rope. Grab it to get to the other side with
usually a Kemmler and a Fire Sword. Take the Fire Sword and go down. Jump over
the hole, grab the swinging rope to get to the other side and kill some more
enemies. Before the exit door is one last set of protruding spears. Go through
the door.

Stage 2

In the blue castle, carefully climb the rope and avoid the spears that surprise
you and jump off at the top. Jump from rope to bobbing block to rope to rope
over the fire pit and then climb up to the next level. The blocks with teeth
here will fire at you so jump up them quickly to avoid this or suffer the
consequences. At the top is a rope and a tricky bit with a sliding platform
and a fire pit. Jump to the sliding platform and try to get right to the apex
of it. Try to jump to the platform and kill the Swordthings, Macethings and the
Wizard without taking too much damage. After this, jump over the fire pits and
the fire balls using the ropes and climb to the next level avoiding the face
block. Kill more enemies, jump over the pits and ascend the slope at the top of
which is usually a Wizard. Avoid the last set of spears and go through the door
to meet the boss.

Stage 3

The boss here is Shukumas. This one can be tricky. He will shoot three fire
balls which will bounce around the room. Try to avoid them and hit him. When
you hit him, he'll flash to teleport himself to a different location but he
will still take damage while flashing so get him as much as you can before he
disappears. Repeat this process until all his health his gone. Try to keep your
distance from him otherwise he will shoot fire balls directly into you which
can be quite devastating to your health. Once he's dead, you'll exit the stage.

*******************************************************************************

ROUND 4

Stage 1

Rastan will start in a blue marble palace. Drop down, kill the Meduzas and the
Harpies and climb the rope. If you jump off to the left at the rope you will
get to a platform from which a Mace can be gotten. It can be quite tough to get
but if you swipe at it with your current weapon it is possible to obtain. At
the top, kill another Harpie and slide down while jumping over the water holes.
Kill the Meduza and jump over another hole. Up thrust to kill the Gorgon before
she drops any snakes and continue right. Grab the swinging rope and jump onto
the bobbing block to get to the other side. Kill some more enemies and traverse
the waterfall to get to and kill some more Mantises and Gorgons. Avoid the
spears amd slay the bee which might appear. At another waterfall, slay the
Gorgons and drop down. You will see a Fire Sword in the water to the left.
Here's the trick to getting it. In the water is a hidden platform; simply stand
at the edge of the water and do a high jump to the left and you should land on
the hidden platform. Next, do a small jump to the wall, grab the Fire Sword and
bounce off the wall with a small jump back onto the platform all in one motion.
From here, get back onto the real platform. It is very tricky to pull off but
it is possible. After this, head right. Grab the rope just as it gets as far
left as it can while avoiding/killing the Flying Fish. This jump is quite hard
so don't be dismayed if you land in the water. Jump up, kill the Kemmlers,
Harpies and Meduzas as required and jump over the hole with the platform - you
don't need it. At the slope, wait for the platform to come and jump on it while
avoiding the Flying Fish. Sometimes the platform never shows up; if so, just go
in the water and jump like crazy to the right to reach the other side. With
luck, you won't lose too much health. At the other side, a Kemmler or a Meduza
might be here to greet you just before the exit door. Enter it.

Stage 2

In this castle is the first time in which the wall jump technique is absolutely
necessary in order to advance. Without it you're stuck. Jump to the left and
over the fire pit to grab the Battle Axe then head back to the right. Avoid the
spears and Wall jump up the wall to grab the rope, and then climb up. At the
top, avoid the crushing ceiling and ascend the slope. Grab the rope and climb
up at the top. This next bit is problematic. Try to grab the very bottom of the
swinging rope and then jump to the next platform with probably a Wizard on it.
Ignore the platform beneath the rope, you don't need it. Kill the Wizard then
jump over the holes using the slopes and avoiding the fire balls. Once at the
other side, jump to grab the rope. At the top will be some spears and a
crushing ceiling as well as some enemies. Some more spears pop out just before
the fire pit. Jump from rope to rope avoiding the fire balls and trying not to
fall in. Once at the other side, jump off and stop at another pit. The exit
should be in sight by now. You will see a hole with mud pouring out of it. Time
your jump to avoid the mud and get to the other side. Kill the enemies here and
enter the door.

Stage 3

The boss here is Aryous. He will float around, shooting fire balls and
teleporting around. Try and up thrust and down thrust him when the opportunity
arises and he will soon die. There is another way of getting him which is quite
glitchy. At the start he will be on the lower platform and you will be on the
higher one. Wait for him to get close and then duck and swipe just above his
head. Although your blow will miss, he will start retreating. Follow him by
jumping from top platform to top platform till he stops by the back wall. Don't
let him touch the end of the screen before he reaches the wall otherwise it
won't work. Once he's at the back wall and on the bottom platform with you on
the top one duck just in front of him and swipe away. He will keep swinging his
sword underneath you while you just shave the tope of his head. Watch as his
health decreases bit by bit and he won't shoot fire balls or teleport either!
It's a bit of a cheat but it works. The normal way of getting him is easy
enough though.

*******************************************************************************

ROUND 5

Stage 1

Rastan starts in a mountain range. Go to the right, kill the enemies and climb
the rope. At the top will be a hole. Fall in it to get the mace and then wall
jump out of it. Kill the Mantis and start sliding down the slope jumping over
the holes with yellow liquid inside. At the bottom, kill the Snake and jump up
the platforms while avoiding the protruding stalagmites. Kill more enemies and
jump on the block to the swinging rope and then on to the other side. When you
get to a sheer drop, fall straight down, grab the axe and land on the
platforms. Jump straight off them before they fall. Jump over the next holes
while killing more Spartoys and Meduzas. Climb the rope; at the top, avoid the
falling boulders and kill/avoid the snakes and head on to the right. Slide down
the slope and jump on the platform. From here, do a high jump right and land on
the platform with a Battle Axe. Take it and drop down. Kill more enemies and
ascend the slope. At the top will be more enemies and the exit.

Stage 2

From here, the game becomes much harder. Rastan will be in an icy, purple cave.
Slide down, avoid the mud, jump over the hole and kill any enemies that appear.
Jump up, avoid the spears that come out of the side and out of the next
platform. Kill the enemies which are Swordthings, Macethings, Axethings and
Wizards. Climb the small slope and avoid the boulder that falls down. Drop down
the hole. Move left, avoid the dropping stalactites and fall down the next hole
before the face blocks shoot. Descend the slope and jump over the holes killing
the enemies and avoiding the protruding stalagmites and the falling
stalactites. It's very tough to avoid everything here. The only advice I can
give is to try and get through it as quickly as possible. Try to jump a lot and
avoid the various hazards to get to the other side in one piece. Ascend the
slope and enter the door to battle the boss.

Stage 3

The boss here is Fedorak. He's a dragon/serpent type of creature and spits out
fire balls aimed at you. He will only get hurt if you hit his head. The best
way to do this is to down thrust on it. Try to time it so that you land just in
front of him rather than on top of him as it hurts quite a bit to touch him. He
is tricky so you'll just have to practise. If you ever get underneath his head
by accident, be sure to up thrust him for good measure but don't try to get him
like this all the time as it's quite dangerous being so close to him. Once his
huge health bar is depleted you'll be taken to the next level.

*******************************************************************************

ROUND 6

Stage 1

Rastan will start in a burning inferno. Ascend the slope, grab the axe and use
the platform to get on to the bobbing block and over the fire pit. Kill the
Harpies, the Mantises and the Meduzas and jump up to avoid the face block. When
on the next platform kill some more enemies, fall down the hole and once on
the bobbing block quickly wall jump to the right and then left to grab the
rope. Climb up, jump off to the right and slide down the slope while jumping
over the fire pits with fire balls. Go right, destroy the block, jump up and go
right. At the sheer drop, ignore the platform and do a high right jump to get
to a lower down platform. Jump to the next one before the boulder touches you
and then jump down. Jump up the platforms and avoid the fire balls. Kill the
enemies here and jump up the slope. At the top there will be a block with a
Fire Sword in it. Destroy the block, get the Fire Sword and keep going right.
Ascend the slope, try to avoid the boulder and kill the enemies. Fall down the
next sheer drop. Jump up to the next platform to get over the flame pit, high
jump up and past the face block before it fires and enter the door.

Stage 2

Jump over the pit, avoid the falling stalactites and kill the Harpies and
Wizards. Head right and kill the Swordthings, Macethings, Axethings, Spartoys
and Wizards and drop down. Avoid the face block and head left. Drop down
again, quickly jump off the platform and head right. Jump over the yellow
liquid holes and avoid the mud flows and kill the enemies. Before you climb the
rope, head right and grab the Fire Sword. Now head back left, climb the rope
and jump onto the platforms to get to the exit. Try to avoid Wizard scrolls
here as they'll make you lose your weapon. Enter the door to get to the boss.

Stage 3

The boss here is the Read Dragon. Although you can see all of his body, the
only thing that you can hurt and the only thing that can hurt you is his head.
He will swing his head from right to left and vice versa while stopping to
shoot every now and then. If you have the Fire Sword this will be a much
shorter fight. Just jump and up thrust to hurt him. Try to do this without
touching his head and while avoiding the fire balls. Once his health goes you
will see his neck disappear as well as his head. Time for the last round of the
game.

*******************************************************************************

ROUND 7

We start this round already inside a castle. This area consists of several
castle stages and you'll go from stage to stage trying to find the boss arena.
The stages will repeat themselves if you just keep going in one direction
without getting to the exit so make sure you know where you're going. These
stages are rather tortuous and as such they can be quite disorientating trying
to find your way around. Follow this guide and I'll lead you to the boss arena.

Stage 1

We start by falling into a yellowish castle area. Head right and avoid spears
until you get to a rope. Climb up and jump to the other ropes to reach the
door.

Stage 2

Head right, kill the enemies and fall down. Avoid the mud flow and land on a
platform. Quickly jump to the right before the platform falls and head right.
Kill the enemies and avoid the spears. Wall jump at the end to get to the rope
and climb it to the top to reach the exit door.

Stage 3

Go right, avoid the boulders and wait by the yellow liquid. Jump on the
platform when it appears. The platform will turn back just as it gets to the
rope so jump and grab the rope when you're close enough. Jump to the next rope
and keep going right - don't go down. Kill the Wizards and other enemies and
fall down at the slope. Head left then fall down to the bottom. Head right,
avoid the falling spears and ascend the slope at the end. At the very peak of
the slope, grab the rope, climb to the top ascend the slope and enter the door
to enter the boss arena.

Stage 4

The boss here is Dragon ? He's pretty much a slightly harder Fedorak except he
has more health and is a bit quicker. Use the same strategy on him as you did
with Fedorak. The only major problem is when he jumps on to the upper platform
which is something Fedorak didn't do. Just wait for him to jump down and use the
Fedorak strategy on him. It won't be easy and he has a gigantic health bar but
after you've had enough practice on him you should do it. After he's dead, the
end sequence will start.

End

We learn that Rastan was asked to marry the princess but refused because he's
not good enough for her. So Rastan goes off seeking new adventure. The credits
then roll.

Congratulations on completing Rastan.

hold both buttons. Turn the system on. Be sure to hold the buttons until the
title screen comes up. If you have done this successfully, "RASTAN" will appear
in blue letters instead of the usual gold letters and you will now have
