I'll give ya a brief run down on the EC:CFTDS story so you actually have some
idea of what is going on. Ripped gloriously from the manual!


Greetings!

I am the Eternal Champion!

My Purpose is to maintain the balance between good and evil, light and
darkness, hope and dispair. However, the balance has been lost.
Soon the very fabric that holds the world together will be torn apart.

Your future, my present has been destroyed by a cruel and unjust twist of fate.
Nine individuals from various periods in time were killed before their lives
could affect this dark existence.

I have spent centuries harnessing my power for this special event I am about to call
an event that will challenge these nine against each other for the chance to bring balance
to the world. Even with the powers I gained from the martial arts masters that lived before me,
I can only award one of these individuals with the gift of life.
Each can have an equally profound effect on the future.

At the end of this contest, only one will remain. The victor will be returned
to life just a few seconds before death, with the opportunity to avoid the past with
the knowledge to change the future.

The balance between good and evil lies in my hands,but I will need your assistance.
You must let the world know that this contest is being fought to save all of humanity.

I'll go though all of the basic controls here! These controls
apply to all of the characters and are not unique skills but just the
simple movements. If you're gonna get this game then I highly recommend that
you use a 6-button controller as it is so much easier, with a 3-button you'll
have to use the Start key to switch from kick to punch which can be highly
irritating so I would recommend buying a 6-button controller of EBAY or something
so you can experience this game fully, it will be worth it.

6-button Controller:

Kicks: A- Snap Kick
      B- Thrust Kick
      c- Wheel kick

Punches: X-Straight punch
        Y-Lunge
        z-Swing

D-button:Left/Right-moves character to the left/right
        Down-Crouch
        Up-Jump

Start: Pause/resume

3-button controller:

(set 1) Kicks:  A-Snap kick
               B-Thrust Kick
               C-Wheel Kick

(set 2) Punches:X-Straight punch
               Y-Lunge
               Z-Swing

D-button: Same as 6-button controller

Start: Switches between Sets 1 and 2/ resumes game while paused.

Start + A + B + C: Pauses game

You can tailor the controls to suit your style in the Controller Setup in the
Options screen

There are three main modes in Eternal Champions which can be selected in the
title screen. They consist of:

1.Contest
2.Duel
3.Tournament

The first is Contest. This comes in three difficultys
called Neophyte(easy), Warrior(normal) and Champion(hard) and is basically
the arcade mode of EC where you choose a character and take him/her
through battle after battle with a selection of other characters until
you meet the boss. When you pick your character in the selection screen your
opponent will be selected at random which will continues until you reach the
final stage. If you are defeated in this you will be given a ten second
countdown continue screen where you have to press start in order to get another chance
of getting revenge on the oppoent who beat you. You can also choose a new
character when you use a continue.

Duel is a two player head to head contest and unlike the 1P contest mode
it has a few extra options.

1.Battle time

You can select how long a match can last ranging from 30 seconds, 60 seconds
and 99 seconds. You can also switch the time off completely and have an
infinite lasting match. If the time expires in a match
then the player who has done the most damage is the victor.

2. Match Conditions

You can choose how many falls a fighter can endure before being declared
loser. Options are
1  out of 2
2  out of 3
3  out of 5
6  out of 11
11 out of 21

3.Speed Setting

Set the speed of your choice:  Slow
                              Normal
                              Overdrive (very fast)

4. Inner Strength

Turn your warriors inner strenght orb on/off.
see section 4 for more information.

5. Player Level

Choose from 1 to 8. The higher the number the bigger the damage.

Tournaments

There are 15 types of tournaments in EC:CFTDS

1. Single Elimination

Each player selects one character and up to 15 CPU can compete. The
Tournament is set up in a classic bracket style and in order to survive in
the tournament you will have to win all of your matches once. Winning your
match in the Preliminaries will allow you to compete in the semi finals, then
finals etc.  If you are defeated then your character is thrown from the
tournament.

2.Double Elimination

Basically the same rules apply here except that all of your matches will be
best one out of two. You will have to defeat your opponent twice to proceed.
if you are defeated twice then you are eliminated/

3. Round-A-Bout

Each player selects a stable of characters ranging from 4 to 18 characters
each. You can then choose your own character to face the other players self-
selected character. If you lose a match then your losing character will be
eliminated and if all of your characters are eliminated the opposing player
wins the tournament.

4. Round Robin

Both players select a stable of characters of equal amount. The first player
to win will be able to change into his next character but the loser will
remain the same. Whoever wins with all of thier charactes will win the
tournament.

5. Dominator

Each player selects a stable of even number of fighters and battles it out
between them.  Each vicotroy results in a win icon moving towards the winning
team, which will alternate between the winning players. When the win icon
moves over all of the characters of one team then they have won/

6. Survivor

The player chooses a character and faces CPU characters in one round battles.
After winning a fight you will recieve one third of your health back. This
tournament ends when you are beaten or when you have elminated all of the
characters. In two player mode, players alternate against the CPU unitl one
player loses. if both players make it to the end of the tournament then the
two will fight as a tie breaker.

7. Expert Survivor

Basically the same except that you will gain points from a fight from various
situations e.g killing an opponent or defeating the opponent in a swift way
will give you points.  In a two player game winners are chosen via the amount
of points they have gathered rather than the amount of kills they have.

8. Point Match

The players choose a group of fighters each and fight each other until all
the characters have fought one another.  Each win will give the team 100
points and at the end the team with the most points will be proclaimed the
winner.

9. Expert Point Match

Similar to the previous mode except that points are given to players who
perform perfect wins, kills and power combos during the fights.

10. Sell your Soul

Like Point match but with a twist!  An extra battle is added to declare the
true winner of the tournament. The percentage of wins is blended with the
players health bar. e.g if one team one 90% of the fights then they would
recieve that amount of health back while the other team would get 10% back.
The winner of this fight is the overall victor of the tournament.

11. Possession

Each player chooses a stable of characters and goes into a series of one on
one battles.  When the match is over the loser is added to the team of the
winning side. This continues until one player holds all of the players on his
team.

12. Russian Roulette

Two stables of characters fight each other in one vs one battles.The loser is
not eliminated but theier team is. The CPU randomly selects a member of the
team and eliminates them. The winner is the team that survives.

13. Sudden Death

Chosen Characters will fight each other in swift 30 second 1 out of 1
matches. Losers are eliminated and the surviving side wins.

14. Death Match

This works similar to a Point match as a group of fighters will go one on one
against each other. If a character is killed then they are removed
completely. The player who acquires all character wins.

15. Count Down

Like Survivor except that characters race against time instead of health
loss. You must defeat all oppoenents within the time or die trying.


After selecting a game mode you also have the choice of the following options:

Number of Players- Choose how many players you want.
Teams- Set how fighters in team play are grouped
Match Condition- Choose how many falls a fighter can have before elimination
Number of Characters- Choose how many fighters  each player will have.

Screen indicators- Show you whats happening on the battlefield

1. Life bar: This decreases everytime you are hit by an attack and there is
no way to increase it during a battle. When your life bar is empty you will
be defeated.

2. The Inner Strength orb: This reveals the amount of strength you have. Whne
the orb is full you can execute  all of your special moves. Everytime you use
a special move a part of your orb vanishes and you won't be able to use
special moves without an orb that is reasonably full. It will regenerate
automatically but you will need to defend yourself to allow time for it too
heal. It will begin to falsh when you have reached full strength.

You can turn this off at the options screen!


                       Game Specialities!

Combinations: The game has many combinations (which are a series of
unblockable hits) that can be strung together by a skilled and creative
gamer. They will tend to start with a jumping move  adn then end with either
a skill move or a special move. Normal moves have 3-hit combos while special
and skilled moves can go up to ten. Mixing together moves will do real damage.

Juggling: This skill refers to the player hitting an opponent, knocking them
of the ground and then nailing them again. The second hit is unblockable
therefore you can attack with a combo afterwards so you can easily sneak in a
few hits in the enemy that they cannot block.

Power Combos: This is a special unique feature only found in EC:CFTDS. They
are hard as hell to do and require a very high skilled player to pull off. If
you do it though you will be given 10 seconds of unlimited strength. The you
can proceed to kick the crap out of the opponent.

Vendettas: These are personal kills that one player gives to an oppponent.
Every character has a vendetta move and they can be generated when you have a
lot of power and will finish off your opponent in a very gory and tastless
fashion. Just the way we like it.

Cinekills: These are very hard to pull off 3-D full motioned video kill of of
his enemy with compliments from the Dark Eternal Champion.

Overkills: Like a Mortal Kombat brutality. These are background activated and
will involve something in the background being used as a killer weapon. e.g.
throwing an opponent over Riptides ship to see them be ripped to bits by a
shark.

Sudden Death: These are sudden and fatal deaths and are also background
related. They are a harder to perform than an overkill.  They can be pulled
off instantly in combat and easliy defeat one with full health.

Hidden Characters: I'll go into special characters and move sets later on in
the FAQ!

(i) Jonathon Blade

Bounty Hunter
2030 AD
Stage: Syrian Oil refinary

Style of Martial art: Kenpo

Kenpo teaches its desiples how to manuever so that opponents unwittingly
place themsleves in vunerable
positions. It combines linlear and circular moves, using intermittent power
as needed. Like water, it flows through major and minor moves with fluid
continuity. It is flexible in though as well as action.

Biography:
Blade was one of the best cops that ever lived in the future.  Born inSyria,
raised in Africa, Blade was dedicated to the extreme, working someof the
meanest parts of New Chicago.He had, however, one small problem: his temper.
After almost being killedseveral times by a suspect during a case, Blade
caught up to him.   Thesuspect again tried to kill Blade, who was able to
sidestep the laser shot
and grab the suspect. Being only human, Blade was out of patience.  He
proceeded to beat the suspect to near death.  The suspect survived, and sued
the police.  The police fired Blade to hush the scandal, and he ended up
moving back to Syria to become a Bounty Hunter, which allowed him better use
of his quick temper. His final case dealt with a rogue scientist who had
escaped a government bio-weapons lab.  The scientist was threatening to smash
open a vial containing a virus that would kill 95% of all human life if the
government didn't stop all bio-research. The Syrian government hired Blade to
safely retrieve the vial.  Blade agreed on one condition: they
wouldn'tinterfere. They agreed. He cornered the scientist in an alley and
radioed that the scientist agreed to peacefully give up the vial.  The
government had followed Blade, and took this moment to make their move.  When
shots from laser rifles filled the alley the last image that Blade saw before
he died was the smashed and
open vial of the virus.

Goal: If Blade was to return his plan would be to get to the vial before it
broke, and to save the life of the rogue scientist.  This would keep the
virus from being exposed and killing most of humanity with its destructive
force.

Blades special moves:

Stun Beam: left right Z
0% damage-Freezes opponent for a few seconds

Straight Blade: left right Y Z
15% damage- Weapon hovers momentarily, then attacks. Once on the attack, it
cuts into the opponent before exploding.

Wild Fury attack: A + B + C
16% damage max (8 hits x2%)-Unleashes a flurry of powerful slaps to the
opponents chest.

Backfire: A + C
Neutralizes projectile-Fires a tracking cursor that disables the opponents
ability to use projectiles.

Personal Shield:X + Y + Z
Damage resistance-Absorbs 50% of all damage inflicted upon Blade. Drawback:
it can be overloaded by too many attacks and implode! This will take health
of you, so be careful.

Tracking Blade: C Back Forward + X and Y
15% damage-Like the Straight blade with the added avantage that it auto
attacks!

Projectile containment field: A + B
0% damage-Causes any projectiles fired at Blade to travel at half speed.

Blades Skill moves:

Slice n Dice: Down, diagonal right, right + C
Up to 16% damage (4 hits x 4%)
With blades extended, the fighter attacks, slicing and dicing the opponent.

Lightining strike: Down, diagonal right, right + B + C
Up to 15% damage (5% + 10%)
Charged with energy, Blade explodes forward with a high-velocity punch and
kick.

Brick wall
12% damage + wall smash.
Blade uses his own mass and strength to rack the opponent.


Excessive force
Up to 15% damage ( 5 hits x 3%)
Blade punches, kicks and batters the opponent with this 5- hit attack.

Blade punches the opponent into the opposite wall then powers up his
Armbands and fires a deadly energy spear which pierces into the beaten
fighter.

Overkill: Knock the opponent into the fan

Sudden Death: Make your opponent land on the second part of the metal band on
the left hand side of the fan.

(ii) Dawson McShane

Gambler
1849 AD
Stage: Hangtown Mine

Style of Martial art: Shotowando

Shotowando was designed and practiced by only one man, Dawson McShane. It
combines shotokan, kickboxing, Tai Chi and barroom brawling. In his life,
Dawson fought many good fights. When truly beat, he would oftern convince his
opponent to reveal his fighting style and tactics. This unusual combination
of martial arts, dirty tricks and old-fashioned fist pounding made Dawson one
of the most creative, cunning fighters of his day.

Biography:
Dawson had been a loner most of his life; he had never known his Mother and
his father was shot by a highwayman when Dawson was fifteen.  He lefthis
native Scotland soon after the funeral and eventually became a professional
gambler travelling from town to town and city to city. By the time Dawson was
twenty-five years old, he was infamous throughoutEurope's casinos and
gambling houses as a gambler who could break the house's bank and devastate
it's bar in a brawl, all in one evening. Dawson had an aversion to firearms
and relied on his fists to settle the disputes that often arose from his
frequent winning streaks.  His fighting style was a unique blend of martial
arts and bar-room brawling techniques. Tall tales of the Wild West had always
intrigued Dawson and news of highstakes being created by the recent Gold Rush
drew Dawson to the untamed west.He wound up it a mining boom town and was
unwittingly sucked into aconfrontation between the townsfolk and a powerful
but ruthless landowner
named Homer Jenkins.

Just as Dawson arrived in town, he saw a man setting fire to the Sheriff's
Office.  The arsonist ran when he knew that had been spotted and Dawson was
about to give chase when he heard a cry for help coming from within the
burning building.  Dawson pulled the semi-conscious Sheriff from the inferno,
but it was too late, the Sheriff was dying.The Sheriff's last request was
that Dawson become a deputy to catch the arsonist, Homer Jenkins' son, Bill
Jenkins and bring him to trial.  Bill Jenkins had burned the Sheriff's office
in order to escape being arrested for a slew of recent crimes and the dying
man knew that the townsfolk would be too afraid to form a posse in order to
capture the outlaw son since the elder Jenkins controlled so much of the
town. Dawson agreed and the Sheriff pinned a Star onto the Scotsman's vest
just before he died.  Dawson captured Bill Jenkins, but was ambushed on his
way to the makeshift courthouse and strung up by Homer Jenkins before the
circuit judge could hear the case.  Homer and his son escaped prosecution
because no one in town would testify against them.

Goal: If Dawson was give his life back he would make sure that Homer and Bill
Jenkins were brought to justice. He would then go travelling around the west,
seeking adventures where he could use his martial arts, gambling and his
recently uncovered justice skills.

Dawsons Special moves:

Round up: Down, Diagonal right, right + B
Up to 20% damage (5 hits x 4%)

A blend of two other Dawson attacks the Pony tail strike and the Tumble weed
and a punch.

Rattle snake belt grab: Left, Right + Y
12% damage

Using his snake belt like a lariat, Dawson snags his prey, then follows
through with a punch.

Roll the dice: (in mid air) Down. diagonal right, right + Z
13% damage

Dawson balls up, dives diagonally and bounces off the floor.

Tumble Weed: Left, Right+ A or B or C
13% damage

Dawson rolls forward in a tight ball, doing considerable damage.

Dual Knife throw: Quarter Circle forward
11% damage

A pair of knives hidden in Dawson's sleeve become a double threat.

Spit Attack: Charge back then forward +  Y Z
0% slow opponent

Tobacco spit splatters, sickens and slows the opponent.

Pony Tail Strike: Charge back then forward + X Y
10%  damage

Dawson whips his pony tail around and forward for a raking effect.

Dawsons Skill moves:

Gold Strike: Left Right + B + C
Up to 15% damage (5 hits x 3%)

With blades extended, the fighter attacks slcing and dicing the opponent.

Gentlemans quarter: Up Down + B
Up to 15% damage (6% + 9%)

Charged with energy, Dawson explodes forward with a high velocity punch and
kick.

Spinning ax pick: Quarter Circle forward + C
Up to 16% damage (4 hits x 4%)

Dawson spins like a deadly battering, human top.

Step out: Quarter Circle back + C (near screen edge)
10% damage
Slipping from one side to another. Dawson deliviers a tricky, painful stomp
to the hapless opponent.

(iii) Jetta Maxx

Circus Acrobat
1899 A.D.
Stage: Circus Tent

Fighting style(s): Savate and Pencak Silat.

Originating in France, savate, with its foot and fist fighting style,
emphasizes front side and round kicks to the knee, shin and instep. The hands
are kept open and low to defend agaimst groin kicks. Palm and heel strikes
are used to attack the face, nose and eyes. Street fighters who practiced the
art introduced both mid-level and high-level kicks.

Pencak Silat, the national fighting art of Indonesia, dates back to the 6th
century A.D. By the 14th century, the form was the polished property of the
nobility, and commoners were barred from learning its tactics. Baru Silat,
the Sumaturan form, employs hand actions to block, parry and cover.

Biography:
Jetta was always a rebel: as a youth she changed her given Russian name to
Jetta Maxx to sound more like a performer.Born in Russia, cousin to Czar
Nicholas II, Jetta traveled the world as a performer in a famous
international circus.  During her many travels, which included visits to
France and Indonesia, she learned gymnastics and martial arts.

In 1899, her circus troop visited China.  At the time, China was being ripped
apart by the Boxer rebellion, the Chinese attempt to rid their homeland of
foreigners.  Unfortunatly, many innocent Chinese were also dying. Spurred by
her compassion, Jetta decided to help infiltrate the "Yihe Quang",
or "Rightous Harmony Fists" and get them to turn their ways to pacifism
before the major foreign powers brought all their military forces to bear.
In addition Jetta foresaw that Russia's involvement in the fighting of the
East would further weaken her own government's stability.  Before Jetta was
able to bring a peaceful end to the fighting and change the history of Russia
and China, she fell victim to an act of sabotage by a radical from the Yihe
Quang.  Jetta's safety net and tension
wire were cut, Jetta plummeted to her death during the grand performance for
the crown emperor of China.

Goal: If Jetta was allowed to change her destiny then she would work to stop
the destruction that the revoloutions of Russia and China. She would use her
efforts to find an alternate way instead of bloodshed.

Jettas special moves:

Whirlwind kick: Left Right C
Up to 15% damage (5 hits x 3%)

Jetta peppers her opponent with single keg multiple-kick attacks.

Phase: X + Y + Z
Speed burst

Speeds up the body molecules, letting Jetta move twice as fast. The speed
lasts 10 seconds or until Jetta is hit.

Moving Corkscrew
8% damage

Jetta spins on her toes, left or right slicing with hand blades.
Spin Left: A + B
Spin Right: B + C

Bladerang: Back Forward X
10% damage

Jetta throws a boomerang for one or two hits

1 hit: Left Right + X
2 hits: Left right + Y

Flying Choke hold: Back forward Z
Up to 15% damage

Jetta throws her sleeve around the opponents neck and pulls upward.

Resonate: A + C
Super speed burst

On contact, Jetta causes a non-blocking opponent to shake uncontrollably and
respond poorly to the D-button. Possilbe only when phased.

Ceiling Climb: DOwn up Y
Up to 20% damage (3% + 3% + 3% + 11%)

Jetta grabs onto the ceiling, hurls a bladerang then falls into a deadly
dive.


Jettas skill moves:

Corkscrew uppercut: Left Right Y z
Up to 15% damage (1% + 2% + 3% + 4% + 5%)

Jetta blends her fantastic speed with a corkscrew and an uppercut.

Gymkata: Left Right + B + C
Up to 15% damage (5 hits x 3%)

A powerful 5- strike attack.

Power burst: Quarter Circle forward C
10% damage.
Banging her bracelets together, Jetta sends an energy burst back and forth

Riochet: Down Up A

once captured a praying mantis. took it home and studied it. He then combined
the movements of the mantis with monkey style kung fu to form his new system.

Biography:
Born in an era of crime bosses and racketeering, Larcen grew respecting and
idolizing the many powerful crime bosses who ruled the streets.  As a youth,
he went to work for Mr.Taglalini, one of the most powerful crime bosses.
Under his wing, Larcen grew up to be one of the world's best cat burglars. He
did many illegal jobs for Mr.Taglalini, including the planting of illegal
evidence in other crime boss hideouts.  There was one thing that Larcen
wouldn't do, and that was kill.  Instead, he used martial arts to stop and
drop his attackers.

One day, Mr.Taglalini asked Larcen to plant a package on a supposed crime
boss who was recovering in the hospital.  When he entered the room that
supposedly contained the boss, he instead found the now recovering chief of
police, who had been hurt in a prior assassination attempt.  It seemed that
the mob wanted the chief dead because he was incorruptable, and was about to
declare war on the mob. Larcen suddenly realized that he had been set up.
The package he carried probably contained a bomb.  At this moment, Larcen
decided that he had chosen the wrong side.  He wouldn't kill.  Larcen
attempted to throw the bomb out of the window, but it was too late. The bomb
explosion not only killed both Larcen and the chief, but also most of the
hospital, including several youngsters in the children's wing.


Goal:
If Larcen gains a second chance he will use it to shut down Mr.Taglalini's
syndicate.  Beyond that, he would like to use his second chance to find a way
to stop the criminal forces which he spent much of his life as part of. His
only absolution will be in destroying the forces that attempted to
destroy him.

techniques to establish a distinct method. Instead it utilizes all ways and
measn to serve its end, therfore making it "free". As a martial arts form it
possesses everything, while in itself it possesses nothing.

Biography:

Mitchell worked for the CIA on loan from Interpol.  Born in London, Mitchell
was one of the best bio-chemical scientists working in the intelligence
community.  The CIA needed Mitchell to work on a bio-chemical weapon to end
the Vietnam War.  Mitchell created a virus that would weaken its victims
until they hung near death, waiting for the antidote. The virus was to be
introduced into the water supply of Vietnam, but Mitchell wouldn't stand for
that much human destruction.  He stole back his formula and fled back to
London to hide. Unfortunately, Mitchell was cornered at the airport by both
interpol and CIA agents.  During the escape, Mitchell fell from a nine-story
building into a chemical storage used by the airport.  The force of the
impact broke the seal of the virus container and released the virus into the
chemical vat. This mixture creasted an unexpected result.  Mitchell was
transformed by the mixture into a living vampire.  Using his newfound cunning
and strength, Mitchell escaped and fled to London where he spent the next 133
years vainly searching for a cure for his disease.  No longer identifying
with his past, Mitchell came to be known as Midknight.

The cure had become more important since the goverment used the virus during
the Vietnam War by using the contents of the airport chemical vat. Many of
the third-world countries were now over-run with living vampires. Midknight
was also running out of time because his body, with the exception of his neck
and face, was rotting away.  This rotting was due to the fact that Midknight
wouldn't kill another person to renew his life energy. Midknight was about to
solve the last hitch in the antidote when a government agent killed him by
firing a firing a magnesium stake through his heart.

Goal: If Midknight won the tournament he would surely find a cure for his
illness and then do his best to help those who also suffer the same.

Biography:

Ramses III was the last strong Pharoah of Egypt.  Eighty years after his
death, Egypt started a long decline into overwhelming bureaucracy where
Pharoahs were little more than figureheads and Alexander the Great would be
considered the "Son of Amon" and assume the throne in the third century B.C.,
or it would have have declined if Ramses III wasn't assassinated before his
time. The lone assassin had spent many working his way into a postion of
trust within the Royal Court and the Pharoah felt no fear turning his back on
the man would would end his life.  The killer was cruel enough to choose a
method of execution that was particularly terrifying to the Pharoah.Though
Ramses was a brave fighter and fearless leader, he had never learned to swim,
and the thought of drowning haunted his dreams often.

Ramses was overseeing the construction of a new temple situated on the bank
of the Nile, and he had climbed a tall hill of freshly excavated earth for a
better view of a site.  The killer knew the time was right, and pushed Ramses
off of the hill and into the Nile below. Ramses III drowned before he could
father the son that would have become his successor and before he could rally
his armies into beating back the warriors of the Ancient who were threatening
to take over the rich Nile
delta.
After his assassination, Egypt was taken over by the invaders, and over the
centuries, the new Pharoahs raised armies strong enough to stop Alexander the
Great and his Roman legions from taking over Persia and Egypt.

The changes these events created in the timestream were significant. The
Egyptian Empire grew powerful and lasted beyond the twenty-first century.
Many countries that would have been controlled by the Roman Empire were
either overrun by the Egypian Empire or were driven out of their homelands
into what would have become Russia. The end result was a future devoid of
many different cultures, which drained the Human Spirit of its originality
and spirit, damning it just as much as the loss of humanity in the other
champions' failed time lines.

Goal:The original would of history would be restored if Ramses was able to
return back to his life. His returned existance would allow his rule to be

thr cultivation of chi, which is the raw power of inner-strength. Hsing-i
combines this metaphysical practice with physical movements derived from thr
five chinese elements and the characteristics and movements of animals.

Tao-Kwon-do

"Tao" foot; "kwon" fist; do "a way". A Korean form of karate, created in 1955
from the old training system of martial arts, tae-kyon, "unarmed combat".
Based on an original Korean martial art of hwa-rang, it was combined with
karate and kenpo during the Japanese occupation. The outcome is a combined
art tha concentrates on defense first and shuns the idea of leading the
attack.


Biography:
Raven was from a long line of Arawak healers and was herself a great healer
in her tribe.  She possessed a magical hourglass that had been handed down
from generation to generation which allowed her to completely control very
small segments of time.  The healers used the hourglass sparingly because it
sapped the life-force of it's user every time it was activated. Raven and
many of the other Arawak women were abducted by a Carib raiding party and
bought back to the village of Shengo on the island of Trinidad. Once in the
Carib Village, the women were intergrated into the new
society.Over the years, Raven became highly respected for her white magic
abilities and the villagers revered her as a powerful Voodoo Priestess.
The admiration that the villagers felt toward the young healer didn't sit
well with the aging Carib high priest, Raknook, who was feared by the
villagers because of his use of black magic against his rivals. Late one
night, Raknook feigned illness and sent for Raven.  As soon as she was alone
with the priest, Raven sensed she was in danger.  Before she could react,
Raknook cast a dark spell that turned the power of Raven's hourglass against
her and transferred all of her life energy into his withered body, killing
her and rejuvenating him in the process

Goal:Raven's return to her life will allow her to reverse the spell of the
evil Raknook, taking his life instead of hers.  With his death, Raven can
free herself and the others so that they can return back to their home free
to pursue their lives as they wish.

thighs, making muay thai one of the bloodiest fighting styles in use today.
It ranks as the most popular spectator sport in Thailand.

Biography:

R.A.X. (Robotic Artificial eXoskeleton) is a cyborg.  Once, Coswell was one
of the best human kickboxers in the year 2345.  Coswell's only problem was
that the sport was no longer about human competition, but a battle between
cyborgs, robotically enhanced human beings.  Since the cyborgs could take and
deliver more damage, the crowds began to stop attending the human fights for
the excitement provided by these new robotic combatants. Given these changes,
R.A.X. had no choice but to get cybernetic implants and join the crooked game
which was run by a deceitful fight promoter.
R.A.X. didn't trust this promoter, but needed his financial support to afford
the cybernetic implant operation. After the operation, R.A.X. rose through
the ranks and won the right to take on the champion.  He was killed as a
result of the corrupt fight promoter trading R.A.X.'s life for a sure bet on
the championship fight. The promoter used an advanced electronic virus
planted in R.A.X's
cybernetic brain during the implant operation to shut down all of his vital
systems.  This shutdown was seconds before he was about to deliver the fatal
blow to the reigning champion.

ix) Riptide

Sophia deMedici
Pirate-1566 A.D.

Style of Martial art used: Kajukenbo

This fighting style was developed in Hawaii, and is considered the only U.S
developed martial art.
The name contaisn the abbreviations for four fighting styles: Karate, jujitsu,
kenpo and bojitsu. Five masters worked to develope this art, each from a
different style. The final result is a fighting style that can attack with a
wide variety of stratergies, speed and strengths.

Whether the fight is in the air, face to face or on the ground, kajukenbo has
a move and a strategy to match it.

Biography:

Riptide was once named Sophia De Medici, a member of the infamous Italian
family.  Her name and identity were all but wiped out when she left Italy
to pursue her fortune off the Barbary Coast, North Africa.
She left because she grew up in a household where everything was given to
her but nothing could be earned.  Her family insisted on an arranged
marriage to an Italian crime lord that promised to join power with her
family.  Given this she had no choice but to leave her destined fortune and
begin a new life in a place where she would never be discovered.
At this point in tim., the Barbary Coast was the centrepoint of the pirate
era.  Corsairs, or Pirates as they were more commonly known, were at the
height of their dominance.  There wasn't a spot in the Ocean where Pirates
couldn't strike.

Sophia used what little family money she had at the time to purchase a ship
that would allow her to compete with these Pirates.  She also worked on a
martial art system very similar to a system from the future called
Kajukenbo, which gave her renowned hand to hand fighting skills.
It was during this time that she became known as Riptide, the most feared
of the female Pirates.  There were three other famous female Pirates, but
what made Riptide famous was tshe didn't take from the weak, but instead
took from the tyranny directly, the pirates themselves.  Her time was
filled with many amazing and dangerous battlesagainst the greatest pirates
of that time.

It was a single man that caused her doom.  His name was Hannibal and he was
not only a powerful pirate, but also controlled many powerful criminal
organizations around the World.  When somebody went against Hannibal, he
didn't just exact revenge on them, but also everyone connected to them.
During a nighttime raid, Riptide was taking some buried treasure that
Hannibal had buried on his island.  Unfortunatly, she under-estimated
Hannibal and was killed by a shovel blow to the back of the head while
trying to steal his ill-gotten treasure.

Hannibal, realising that She was more than just a Pirate, used her attack
as an excuse to attack and destroy the entire De Medeci family by using
his various crime organizations.  Their destruction had a massive negative
effect on the timeline, including the loss of several undiscovered works
of Leonardo DaVinci that the family was hiding until the World could handle
their meanings.

These works had tremendous religious and scientific implications which
would be realised in the 21st century.
Without the works of Leonardo and the influence of this massive family
line, a future renaissance was never realised.
If Riptide could return, she would destroy Hannibal and others like him
to end the pirate era and to allow her family's destiny to be fulfilled.


Goal:

The return of Riptide would allow her to stop Hannibal before he can
destroy her family and rob history of many treasures that they will
protect until the World is ready.  She will also return to the sea
and free it of the scourge of maniacal pirates so that there isn't
another to replace Hannibal and his type.

Riptides special moves:

Thunder clap: Left Right + Y + Z

10% damage + stun

Riptide stuns her enemies by roughly clapping them on the ears

Eagle Talon: Down, Diagonal down right, Right + Z

x) Shadow Yamoto

Ninja Assassin- 1993 A.D

Style of Martial art(s) used: Taijutsu

Tajitsu is a system of unarmed combat similar to jujutsu and is a forerunner
of modern judo.

Ninjutsu: Ninjutsu is the feudal Japanese discipline embracing bushido,
espionage, commando warfare, occult powers and numerous martial artd
practices. Due to many terrortorial and religous wars, Japanese mountain
mystics were forced to develope the are to protect their families.
The ninja, the practitioner of ninjutsu is the cultural opposite of the
samurai. The ninja not only masters traditional weapons, bit its also adept at
using daggers, dirks, darts, brass knuckles, smoke bombs and a variety of
poisons.

Biography:

Shadow was the best corporate assassin in the Black Orchid Corporation.
She performed many tasks ranging from individual elimination jobs to
ending large corporate takeovers.

A true star at the Black Orchid headquarters, Shadow never thought much
about the morality of her career until she learned that if a job wasn't
completed to corporate satisfaction, a person like herself would in turn
eliminate her.

When she realized the peril of her own morality, Shadow found she couldn't
bring herself to kill others.  The corporation didn't allow resignations,
so they arranged her fall from the 101st floor of the Black Orchid building.
This stopped her her from telling the world about Black Orchid and
corporations like it, with all their dark secrets of hired killers.
This knowledge would have had a huge impact on international business
going into the 21st century.


Goal:

Shadow's plan if she was returned would be to reveal to the world the
illegal assassination programs that exist in many of the largest
corporations of the world.  She would also search for a way to use her
skills in a way that would make a positive difference for the world but
still support her thirst for danger and adventure.

Style of martial art used: Pain


This fighting style uses any move or attack  that will cause pain or inflict
damage. This includes eye-poking, neck throttling, nostril pulling and hair
yanking. The most common weapon is a large wooden club, which early hunters
could wield very effetively. One technique involves the spinal crush, in which
the attacker jumps onto a foe and smashes the victim's head, compressing the
spinal column. Another technique uses the "push off" lever for a high two-
footed attack.

Biography:


Slash was always advanced for a pre-man creature.  He was the greatest
hunter and the greatest fighter of his generation.  These skills didn't
just come from his great strength, but also from the emergence of an early
intelligence.  Slash used this intelligence in his fighting, which meant he
could out-think most of his opponents.
His intelligence also got him into a lot of trouble.  The cave elders
resented Slash for his intelligence, and rejected his every idea, including
an agricultural plan which would have freed the clan from its enslavement
to a life of drudgery as hunter-gatherers.  The elders turned down this
idea at once , as they saw no value in having free time and enjoyed the
violence of the hunt.
One day, when Slash publicly spoke against the the elders in a clan meeting,
he was stoned to death by the clan when the elders proclaimed him to be an
evil force.


Goal:

If Slash was returned back to his life he would take charge and become the
new leader of the clan.  Only through this direct leadership can Slash
teach his people new and better ways of living.

Slash's special moves:

Bone Breaker: In mid air, press Right + Z
16% damage + stun

From the air, Slash jumps on his opponent, knocks them to the ground and then
stomps on their fallen bodies

De-claw: Left Right + Z
12% damage

From his c;ub, Slash launches a sharp claw at his opponent.

Slash charges the opponent and head butts at great speed.

Power thud club swing: in mid air press Y + z
Stun

Slash jumps into the air, then smashes into the ground, causing an earth
tremor that knocks opponents of thier feet.

Slash shoots a stream of fire from his club.

Ice Club- Quarter circle towards + Y
Freeze

Slash freezes his enemies with a spray of ice from his club

Spinal Crush: Forward + Y
Up to 16% damage

Slash grabs onto the opponent's waist with his feet and pounds the enemy's
head with his club. The beating lasts for several blows or until the opponent
shakes free. Slash must be within throwing range to perform this move.

Style of martial arts used: Capoeria

This Brazilian fighting style was founded over three centuries ago by African
slaves. It is believed to have been originated by blacks in Angola, who
performed the movementd as a religous dance. In the 16th century, this "dance"
was adpated into a fighting art as a defences against the brutal slave traders.
Capoeria is beautiful to watch because of its graceful cartwheels, handstands,
handsprings, sweeps and flips. This grace combined with strength makes thus
art lethal. Practitioners of this art are adept and evading attacks and
countering with hands and feet. The foot motions involve a great deal of leg
sweeps, leg blocks and kicks while in a handstand.

Biography:

Trident is so named becaise of the trident which replaced the hand he lost
in a duel with a shark.
The people of Atlantis during this time lived above the water.  They were
competing with the Romans to see who would control the Earth's surface, with
the loser being plunged into the watery depths.
The Atlanteans spent their time in the pursuit of science.  They realized
early on that a major part of the land was going to sink into the ocean.
To handle this, they built great environments that were enclosed in bubbles
so that they could survive the ocean's depths.
They then offered a fair settlement to the Romans. Half of each each
culture would stay on land, and the other half would go to sea. The Romans
would not agree, and would only settle the issue through battle.  So the
Atlanteans had no choice but to create a warrior that could stand up
against the warlike Romans.  Trident was their champion.
The Romans rigged the fight and crushed Trident under a large stone pillar.
With their loss, the Atlanteans were forced unnecessarily undersea, and
their culture was lost forever.


Goal:

A victory for Trident would allow him and the people of Atlantis to share
the land with the Romans.  Trident would also like to explore his role in
Man's future as Trident was a genetic creation and feels alone in his
existence.


Trident's Special moves:

Teleportation

Trident disappears in a huge wave, dissolves into the ground, and then
reappears somewhere else.

Trident is surrounded by a green cloud. Opponents who touch the nebula are
engulfed in a green glow that stuns them for four seconds or until they are

Trident is surrounded by a a yellow cloud that pushes opponents away. During
the effects 8-second duration, it is nearly impossible to reach Trident.

Bio-drain field: Y + Z
0% weakens opponents

Trident is surrounded by a red cloud. Opponents who touch the nebula are
engulfed in a red glDow that limits their attacks to 50% of their normal
damage.

Depth Charge field: X + Y
0% slow opponenent

Trident is surrounded by a blue cloud. Opponents who touch the cloud are
engulfed in a blue  glow and move as though underwater.

Liquid mode: A + B + c
0% Invunerablity/escape

Trident transforms into water and passes through solid objects. Use this move
to escape from corners.

Up to 18% damage (6 hits x 3%)

Trident thrusts his trident into the ground and spins with legs extended.

xiii) Xavier

Xavier Pendragon
Warlock/alchemist-1692 A.D.

Style of Martial art used: Hapkido cane fighting

Hapkido is a Korean martial art founded by Yong Shul Choi. Its style is a
selective combination of several martial arts systems: power from Karate,
leverage from Judo and Ki (spirit) from Akido.

Hapkido is distingushed by three essential techniques: passitivity when
opposing force, circular movements for countering and attacking, and absoloute
penetration of the oppoenents defences. For instance, if the force is strong,
it must be met with a soft recpetion; if the force is weak, it must be met
with a strong reception. This union of techniques establishes a fluid and
perpetual rhythm as well as constant mobility. Almost all hits and defensive
actions are performed with the cane, which is used in place of arms and legs.

Biography:

Xavier always made bad career choices, so it was no surprise that his last
job ended in failure.  After nailing still-smoking horseshoes onto the
mayor's prized workhorse, Xavier found himself with a shack full of
smithy tools and no job.
Stirred by a love for science, Xavier decided to try his hand at the
age-old quest for the formula which would turn lead into gold.  Instead,
he found a way to create an unlimited source of cheap, clean-burning energy
that would put Salem on the map forever in addition, Xavier found his
alchemy had changed him, giving him strange new powers.
Before he could begin to use this power and document it for the good of
future generations, Xavier found himself bound and gagged as the people of
Salem carted him off to the town square.  There they burned him at the
stake for the false charge of being a warlock.
While some of Xavier's powers could be mistaken for witchcraft, they are
all based on real science.


Goal:

Xavier's return back to his life would allow him to finish his studies of
the unlimited power  source that he found.  He would like to find a way to
use it without creating any great danger of giving another tool to evil.
He would also like to put a stop to the ignorance that led to many witch
hunts across the expanse of history.

Xaviers special moves

Phantom Strike: x + Y
15% damage

Xavier conjures up a dimensional portal and thrusts his cane into it. The
portal then appears near the enemy and the cane thrusts through, stabbing the
opponent.

Dragon trap: Left Right + Z
15% damage

Xavier animates his cane and sends it to attack his opponent. The cane crushes
and bited for several seconds or until it is shaken off.

Attract & Smack: A + B + C
12% damage

Xavier grabs the opponent from a distance, then draws in and smacks the enemy
in the head with the cane.

Midas touch: Left Right + Y
0% freeze

Xavier turns the opponent into gold. The effect lasts for 4 seconds or until
the opponent is hit.

Swap spell: x + Y
0% invulnerability/escape

Xavier switches places with the opponent. This spell effectively makes
opponents get hit by their own projectiles/

Possession: X + Y + Z
0% switch bodies

Characters switch bodies for a short time but still damage each other's "soul"
when hiding in their own bodies.

Confusion spell: A + C
Remaps D-pad

xavier places the opponent in a state of confusionl; the opponent's controls
are scrambled for a full 5 seconds.

Mystic shield: Left Right + A
Reflects

Xavier reflects attacks with his magical cane.

Wizards wrath: Left Right + B + C
Up to 15% damage (5 hits x 3%)

A 5-strike blitz attack

Snap back: Charge back then forward + X

Xavier strikes from a distance by extending the end of his cane to twice its
normal length.

Dragon's bite: Quarter Circle forward + C
