their recipes, and where to find the ingredients. If you want help for

Ice cream is magical! Well, at least it is in Birth by Sleep!

The 7 ice cream flavours that can be made are consumable items that can be
equipped like Potions and Ethers. Using/Eating the frozen treats will grant
Terra, Ventus, or Aqua the ability to instantly change to a Command Style.

Unlike the usual way of switching Styles via spamming certain Command types,
you can have your character go from a high tier Style like Terra's Dark Im-
pulse back to a base one like Fatal Mode.

But similar to the normal way of Command Style changing, the character can
only undergo two Command Style changes. This means that if you force him/her
to eat ice cream a third time while already in a Style, all it will do is fill
up the Command gauge which will force you to use the Finish Command of what-
ever Style your character is currently in.

Admittedly, I've yet to try using an ice cream item when the character invoked
a Style "naturally". But I take it the only-2-Styles rule still stands
meaning that having ice cream two times after this will only cause a Style
change once and not twice.

On occasion, using an ice cream item may also trigger the rare Command Style,
Ice Blast! It can't be triggered on purpose or by using any other Deck Com-
mands, and like all Styles, Ice Blast must be unlocked first before it can be
used.

How do you get it? Beat the second song, Dessert Paradise
(デザート★パラダイス), in the Rhythmic Ice Cream (リズミックアイス) mini game
in Disney Town on Master difficulty with a FANTASTIC rating.

Huey Duck makes and sells them at the Ice Cream Shop in Disney Town.

The initial screen that comes up when you talk to Huey just shows you the
ingredients you've collected for making ice cream. Selecting any of those
will either cause him to whip up some yummy ice treats (if you brought him
enough of certain ingredients to make some) or to the next screen which will
allow you to buy ice cream you've unlocked as well as view recipes.

The quantity of an ice cream item you get of a certain recipe is dependent
on the quantity of ingredients handed over.

Please note that when you speak to Huey, he'll take ALL your ingredients
from inventory so don't freak out if you notice you're missing a bunch of
foodstuff and spices from the Backyard.

Now about those ingredients you need~~

Throughout the game, the player may encounter harmless, flying purple pot-like
enemies known as Prize Pots (プライズポット). These rare Unversed drop the
special food items like sweets and spices needed for ice cream creation. The
Pots only appear in specific locations on the various worlds. There is an
entire section in this guide devoted to their whereabouts and what to look
for as indication that they may appear (as they're shy little buggers) but
first, let's go through the recipes!

As Terra, Ventus, and Aqua share 3 Command Styles among them, there are three
recipes that are universal. For the other ones, I will divide them up by
character.

In regards to the Ingredients Found In section, each world name corresponds
to the order the ingredients are listed in. This means that for Volcano Cur-
ry, both Pixy Pepper and Toon Curry are found in Disney Town while the stuff
for Snow Bear is located in the Level 15 Arena Mission (for Open Sesame) and
Radiant Garden (for Soy Milk).

Now, given the fact that one would typically get 2 or more of the ingredients
per world, I would take it that it'd be rather rare that a player would be
missing any. The reason I listed where to obtain each ingredient is for those
that run into the unfortunate circumstance of not having enough of the re-
quired amount for a recipe.

If it happened to me, it can happen to you. :P

{ Get at least 20 of each ingredient to ensure that you will definitely be
{ able to make every kind of ice cream.

While you may want to focus on only getting certain kinds of ice cream, you
should be wary that unlocking all recipes for a character will net him or her
an ice cream-themed Keyblade called Delicious Tower! :3 (All three charac-
ters all get the same weapon.)

From some extensive testing (as well as some help from Japanese Web sites),
I've concluded that in some cases, the type and number of enemies that appear
or don't appear are a tell-tale sign of whether or the not the Prize Pots
(プライズポット) will pop up.

With each world listed, I have noted the ingredients that are found there,
the general location of the Pots, and any specific conditions that are a give-
away that they MAY appear.

Yes, while they will always appear in the same place each time, these flying
purple Unversed do not consistently materialize like other enemies even if
the conditions are met. :/

DO NOT attempt to slaughter Prize Pots since killing them as fast as you can
as that kind of prevents them from dropping many of those little pink and red
eggs -- you know, the ICE CREAM INGREDIENTS. :P

So yeah, if you're in the place where they're supposed to appear, DO NOT use
an area of effect attack like Mega Flare. :P Instead, use Magnera (マグネラ)
or Magnega (マグネガ) the moment they appear and milk them until they dis-
appear.

Note that these Unversed are susceptible to just about any sort of status you
can dish out although poisoning, stopping, or obstructing their vision isn't
really going to help you maximize the amount of ingredients you can get them
from. Still, I figure it's good to point it out. :P

Oh yeah, there are no Prize Pots at the Land of Departure, Mysterious Tower
or the Keyblade Graveyard.

They were based on entering a world from the World Map. I have found that the
chances of the Prize Pots appearing are much greater this way and it's just
easier to describe things if I pick a save spot to work from.

Having noted this, every condition will start from a specific save point.

{ Terra can obtain 19 ingredients while Ven has 20 in his chapter and Aqua has
{ 21. Try and get at least 20 of each foodstuff to make sure you don't need
{ to go hunting for Prize Pots again for the sake of making one ice cream fla-

{ To check quantities, open the Item menu and go to Backyard. The ice cream
{ materials, which have blue jar icons next to them, will show up after the
{ list of Keyblades.

{ Also, if you've already collected ingredients from a world and want to go
{ back and get some more, I do recommend that you drop off whatever you have
{ at Disney Town first. I note this since I have found that if, say, Terra is
{ carrying around the stuff that Prize Pots have at the world he's going to,
{ it may jeopardize the chances of them appearing. For me, this was especial-
{ ly true for Neverland.

From the save point at the open area of the forest (森：広場), head north to
the lakeside (森：水辺). Go past 4 enemy groups -- the last bunch will be on
an elevated area. Beyond them, to the left side, should be some stair-like
outcropping. The Pots appear in that corner by the rockface.

If 4 Scrappers (スクラッパー) and a Bruiser (ブルーザー) appear when you enter
the area, go back to the save area and exit back to the World Map.

The enemy group you want to see appear first is a set of 4 Scrappers. As
you move toward the wall of flame, Terra will go past 3 Scrappers, 2 Thorn
Bites (ソーンバイト), and finally 2 Scrappers.

In the fountain of the Castle Square (城門広場). They will show up after the
set of 4 Red Hot Chilis (レッドホットチリ) are eliminated.

From the save point at the Castle Square, move forward toward the fountain
and Terra should be greeted by 2 Shoe Gazers (シューゲイザー) and 2 Red Hot
Chilis (レッドホットチリ).

Now check your surroundings and make sure that ONLY 2 Floods (フラード) show
up on the right side of the above mentioned welcoming party and to their
left, ensure that a lone Scrapper (スクラッパー) manifests.

If Shoe Gazers, Bruisers, and more Red Hot Chilis appear in the spots along
with the 2 Floods and single Scrapper, reset the area by either exiting to
the World Map, entering the castle, or leaving by way of the gate to the
south.

Basically, what you want to see is a minimal number of enemies. (The group of
4 Scappers near the gate is consistent so don't use them as a means to test
whether or not the Pots will appear.)

Above a small waterfall in the Underground Waterway (地下水路). When entering
from the courtyard (中庭), it'll be the waterfall to Terra's right.

{ from the waterfall where the Prize Pots appear without needing to go
{ through all the timed gates ... although this can only work rather late
{ into the game. ^^;

{ Equip Terra with High Jump (found in a chest in Deep Space in the quarters
{ (トゥーロ星：収容区画)) and Air Slide or Ice Slide (either one needs to be
{ Level 3 or higher?) then move him to the very edge of the platform. The
{ little key on the mini map should be pointing southwest.

{ Press the jump button but hold onto it a bit longer. Once he reaches the
{ peak of the jump, do an Air Slide or Ice Slide over.

{ Using a Fire Dash or Slide Dash may also work although I never tried it.

In front of the race venue (レース会場前).
If looking at the mini map, it'll be the lone rectangle that's sticking out,
located northeast of the Rumble Racing entrance. Terra cannot get to it
without going through Pete's Playground (ピートの遊技場).

Go through the whole underground platforming fun and exit from the middle of
the pinball wall game.

Get Terra onto the crates, face the big yellowish ledge with the blue walls
and 2 windows (above the three Mickey Head decorations). Ensure that he's
equipped with a high level Air Slide along with either Sonic Slide
(ソニックスライド) or a Slide Dash (スライドダッシュ) or Fire Dash
(ファイアダッシュ) Attack Commands.

Jump up and then do an Air Slide, a Sonic Slide/Slide Dash/Fire Dash, and
another Air Slide. (Actually doing Air Slide 3 times might work just as
well. ^^;)

When Terra reaches the ledge, 4 Blue Sea Salts Unversed must appear. If a
Chrono Twister (クロノツイスター, the hour glass-shaped enemy) shows up as

Note that coming back to the room after going to the World Map seems to up
the chances of the Pots appearing.

This is my MOST hated location mainly due to the fact that I have no idea what
successfully triggers the Prize Pots. I just know that they will most likely
never appear if the first set of enemies that Terra encounters after getting
off the skiff comprises of a Pile Face (パイルフェイス) and 4 Shade Jellies
(シェイドジェリー). What you want to see is just 4 Shade Jellies.

I've reset this area so many times by going into the skull, heading back to
the Cape, and even exiting to the World Map and NOTHING caused the Pots to
materialize.

I have a hunch that the success rate depends on whether or not Terra has any
of the above ingredients with him. To be on the safe side, just empty his
inventory of the ice cream making stuff at Disney Town and then come to Never-
land.

At Mermaid's Cove (人魚の入り江), you should notice a little section to the
northwest with an entrance/exit marker with no visible way of reaching it.
Ven can only access it by way of the Cliff Road (崖道) which is most easily
reached by entering Neverland via the save point at the Cape (岬).

Once at the Cliff Road, look for a cave-like opening in front of a palm
tree. Go through it and he'll be back at Mermaid's Cove but on the ledge with
a single treasure chest on his left.

If a Wild Bruiser (ワイルドブルーザー) and two Yellow Mustards
(イエローマスタード) appear, frown and go back to the previous screen. How-

again.

I make special note of this because I have found that it is extremely diffi-
cult to make Prize Pots show up if I simply do a reset by going to the pre-
vious screen.

At the northern tip of the Village (集落). Heading west from the save spot
in the Valley (渓谷) will get Aqua here quickly.

Make Aqua run straight ahead, past the huts, toward the edge of the area.
If she runs through a set of Unversed made up of 2 Mandrakes (マンドレイク)
and 2 Pile Faces (パイルフェイス), then a Wild Bruiser (ワイルドブルーザー)
should show up just beyond them.

The Wild Bruiser will either be surrounded by 4 Prize Pots or not. You should
know what to do if they don't ...

Oh, at times, the Village may seem completely devoid of enemies. That, too,
is a sign that this area needs to be reset.

For Dancing Lemon, it'll be during the Final Round of Arena Mission Level 8 -
The Whereabouts of Treasure (財宝のありか). The Final Round of Level 15 -
Greedy Eyes (欲を見つめる目) has the Prize Pots with Open Sesame.

Considering you must defeat every single enemy to advance the rounds in any
Arena Mission, just keep fighting all the way through the Level 8 and Level 15
ones.

The Prize Pots will show up, without fail, at some point before the last round
ends. In fact, it's extremely easy to get 99 of each item when you go after
the Pots here!
