(Note: The following directions start after you return to your barracks at
Fort Baxter with the package and can save for the first time. If for some
reason you completed some missions and are no longer able to enter through
the front gates of the Fort you can still enter it by making your way over
the wall on the East side of the Fort.)

Red Balloon #01
---------------

A. Take the Pistol inside your Barracks and then exit your Barracks.

B. As you exit your Barracks go to the back (South) side of your barracks
and look to your left (East).

C. You should see in front of you the 1st Red Balloon under the South side
of the guard tower at the corner of the Fort.

D. Walk closer towards the guard tower and then use Manual Aim with your
Pistol by Holding R1 + push L3 (the Left Analog Stick).

E. Use the Left Analog Stick to aim and then shoot (Circle) the 1st Balloon.

Red Balloon #02
---------------

A. You will now want to proceed to beat up one to three of the soldiers that
you find inside this Fort to take their M16's (three seems to be about the
limit before you start getting shot at).

B. After you have the M16 head to the Guard house/building at the front
gates of this Fort.

C. Face to the North from it and you should see a Patriot (Humvee) parked
near a garage to the left (West).

D. Go over to the center of the garage just to the left (South) of the garage
that Patriot is parked in front of.

E. Face away from the garage and take about three to five steps away (East)
from this garage.

F. Face to the North and use Manual Aim with the M16.

G. Look at the roof of the building in front of you to see two satellite
dishes and hopefully you can see the 2nd Red Balloon you can shoot with the
M16 or at least the top edge of it in front of the lower half/part of the
tower between those two dishes (if the top of it is still showing you can
still pop it just takes some good aiming).

H. If you are unable to pop it in one shot just move yourself as close
towards that building as you can while still being able to see the balloon
with manual aim to try again until you pop it.

Red Balloon #03

A. Now you will need to go out and acquire a PCJ600 and then return to Fort
Baxter (the closest one to get is the one near the garages at the Southern
end of the Apartment buildings of Eastern Vice Port or you can go to the
Eastern most house on Starfish Island to find one).

B. Leave through the front Gates of Fort Baxter turn left (East) onto the
street here and follow this street as it curves to the right (South) up
ahead.

C. Turn left (East) at the end of this street up ahead and then follow this
street as it curves around to the right (South).

D. Turn right (West) at the first street you come to and then turn right
(North) into the entrance/opening into the Terminal C area to your right.

E. As you enter you should see a runway in front of you.

F. Follow this runway as it makes it's way around the Terminal C building
and when it ends look to the left (Southwest) to see a small staircase you
can use to jump up onto the roof of the shorter building here.

G. After you land on the roof of this building get off the PCJ and look up
to the left (Southeast) to see the 3rd Red Balloon just under the
overhanging roof.

H. Now move close enough to it that you can manually aim at it with your
Pistol to shoot it.

---------------

A. Now get back on the PCJ and drop down to the street to the West and turn
left (South) onto it.

B. Follow this street as it curves to the left (East) up ahead and then turn
right (South) onto the first street you come to.

C. Follow this street as it curves to the left and then get off the PCJ once
are near the Eastern Entrance of the Airport.

D. Walk over to the entrance and don't bother walking through the metal
detector.

E. Use manual aim with the M16 to shoot the 4th Red Balloon that is under
the escalator to the Southeast through the archway of the Metal detector (if
done right you without any cops around you shouldn't get a wanted level
star).

---------------

A. Get back onto the PCJ (be sure to pick up your weapons near the door of
the airport if you went into it) and get back onto the PCJ to follow this
street until it ends up ahead.

B. Turn right (East) when it ends and then turn right (South) into the
entrance of the Tarmac area (where the planes are parked) you see up
ahead.

C. As you enter go straight South and you should come to a runway and at the
end of the runway to your left (East) you should see the 5th Red Ballon you
can shoot with your Pistol under the higher part of the higher
inclined ramp.

A. Now go Southwest along this runway you are on until you see a helipad
to your left (a rather large square platform).

B. Drive around to the Southeast corner of this helipad and then drive
straight Southeast from this corner of the helipad until you go under a
metal awning near the building in front of you.

C. Get off the PCJ and look up to the South to see the 6th Red Balloon you
can shoot with your Pistol at the corner of this metal awning.

A. Look to the Northeast and you should see an opening/entrance/exit to
leave this Tarmac area.

B. Drive out through the opening/exit and turn left (Northeast) onto this
street here.

C. Turn right (East) at the end of this street up ahead and then turn right
(South) into the entrance of the "Beachcomber Hotel".

D. As you enter get off the PCJ and look up to the right (West) to see the
7th Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol under the palm tree
closest to you.

A. Now drive back out onto the street and turn right (East) to continue
along the street you were on.

B. Turn right (South) at the first street you come to and then turn left
(East) at the street up ahead.

C. Turn right (South) at the end of this street and then get off the PCJ at
the end of this street.

D. If you are at the correct place you should be able to look up to the
right (South/Southwest) to see the 8th Red Balloon you can shoot with your
M16 under the Northern part of the large crane here.

---------------

A. Get back onto the PCJ and make a U-turn to face North/Northeast.

B. You should see a staircase at the East side of the building to your
left (Northeast).

C. Drive up that staircase with the PCJ and once your on the roof at the top
of the stairs face towards the ramp at the West end of this rooftop.

D. Use that ramp to jump to the rooftop of the building to the West and then
drive down the stairs at the North end of the rooftop you landed on.

E. Once you reach the bottom of these stairs go to the building at the
Southwest corner of this impound lot and drive over to the Northeastern most
garage of this building (the garage with no light over it).

F. Look up to the South and you should see the 9th Red BAlloon you can shoot
with your Pistol under the overhang of the garage next door to the one
without a light over it.

---------------

(Note: You won't need a PCJ for awhile so you can change vehicles if you want
but I'll still be referring to the PCJ since I used it to go around the city
getting these balloons.)

A. Now get back onto the PCJ and use the ramp at the North/Northeast side
of this Impound lot to leave here.

B. Drive out onto the street directly in front of you and turn right
(North/Northeast) onto it.

C. Turn right (East) at the end of this street (you should be passing the
front of the "Beachcomber Hotel" again just so you know you are at the
correct place) and follow this street straight until it ends.

D. Turn right (Southeast) onto the oncoming lanes of traffic.

E. As you go down this street you should see to your left (East) a large
ship.

F. Drive over to the Southern side of the ship and get off the PCJ near the
Life boats you see here.

G. Jump up onto the ship and walk to your right (South).

H. To your left you should see a staircase that you need to go up.

I. Make your way up the many staircases until you reach the highst
part/platform of the ship (where the binoculars are).

J. Go to the railing on the east side of this platform/area and look to the
Northwest.

K. You should see the 10th Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol
floating just under the lower crow's nest of this ship.

You have now unlocked the "Pistol" at your Safehouse(s).

---------------

A. Get back onto the PCJ and drive back onto the street.

B. Turn right (North/Northwest) onto this street (going with traffic now)
and as you go down this street watch the left side of the street for a
skinny building with green/red/blue balconies.

C. Get off the PCJ when you see it and then look up at the highest Green
balcony on the Southern side of this building to see the 11th Red Balloon
you can shoot with your Pistol over that balcony.

A. Get back onto the PCJ and continue North along this street.

B. Turn left (West) at the traffic light you come to up ahead and after you
make the turn get off the PCJ.

C. Make your way up the stairs at the back (Southwest) side of the Police
Station you see to your left (Southwest).

D. Go towards the Eastern side of this rooftop when you reach the top of the
stairs and you will see the 12th Red Balloon you can shoot with your
Pistol to your left (North) floating in the palm tree near you (if it is
sunset time then this one might be hard to see since it's almost the same
color as the sky).

---------------

A. Go across the street and take notice of the Red Balloon at the back
(Northwest) side of the Large Cigarettes Box on the roof of the corner
supermarket (just across the street from the Police Station).

B. Stand on the Northern side of the supermarket and shoot the 13th Red
Balloon with the M16.

(Note: If for some reason you can't shoot it with the M16 just remember
where this is and continue on with the directions because I will mention
another way you can get it in a moment.)

---------------

A. Get back onto the PCJ to continue West on this street and after you go
pass the traffic light up ahead turn right (North) into the second alley
between two buildings you see to your right.

B. About halfway through this alley you should see to your left the 14th
Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol under the staircase to the left
(West).

(Note: The following directions are only for those that couldn't shoot the
13th Balloon with the M16. If you already did shoot the 13th Balloon just
skip down to #15.)

C. After you shoot the 14th Balloon go up the staircase it was under and
as you reach the rooftop of this building at the top of the stairs drop down
onto the lower rooftop to the North of this rooftop.

D. Go up the stairs you see on this rooftop and when you reach the rooftop
at the top of these stairs you will see a Rampage Icon here.

E. Get the Rampage Icon and then quickly make your way back with the PCJ to
the supermarket with the Large Cigarettes Box on top of it (before the time
runs out).

F. Stand on the Northern side of the Supermarket and use the Temporary Sniper
Rifle you have right now from the Rampage mission to shoot the 13th Balloon.

(Note: If you still couldn't pop it you could also try shooting it from the
alley at the back (Northwest) side of the building.)

G. Now make your way back to the alley you were in a moment ago.

A. Now drive out onto the street at the Northern end of this alley.

B. Go straight (North) on the street you see in front of you and after you
go pass the traffic light up ahead turn left (West) into the alley just
before the house with the car in the driveway to your left.

C. When the wall on your left ends as you go down this alley look up to your
left (Southwest) and you should see the 15th Red Balloon you can shoot with
the Pistol under the palm tree with the smallest trunk here.

A. Drive back out onto the street you were on and then turn left (North)
onto it.

B. Turn right (East) at the end of the street up ahead and stop just
before you reach the curve in the road.

C. Look to your right (Southeast) and you should see the 16th Red Balloon
you can shoot with the Pistol under the front of the Movie Theater's
overhanging sign you see here.

A. Now make a U-turn and go West on this street and then turn right (North)
at the traffic light up ahead (just before the curve in the street up ahead).

B. After you make the turn look to your left (West) and should see the 17th
Red Balloon you can shoot with the Pistol under the overhang of the "El
Pleuquero Feliz" building here.

A. Now continue to drive straight down this street and you will eventually
see to your left a cigarette billboard.

B. Look along the bottom (Southwest) side of this billboard to see the 18th
Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol under the left side of that
billboard.

A. Walk around to the North side of the building the billboard is standing
over and look to the Northwest to see a Red bridge here.

B. Look under the South side of that bridge and you should see the 19th Red
Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol under that side of the bridge.

A. Get back onto the PCJ to continue along the street you were on and follow
it as it curves to the right (East).

B. Turn right (South) at the end of this street and then follow this street
as it curves to the left (East).

C. Turn right (South) at the end of this street and after you make the turn
look to your left (East) and you should see a green house here.

D. You should see the 20th Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol just
under the awning at the front of this green house.

You have now unlocked the "Scorpion" at your Safehouse(s).

A. Get back on the PCJ to continue along the street you are on and turn left
(East) at the end of this street.

B. Turn right (South) at the end of this street up ahead and then turn left
(East) at the first street you come to.

C. Go across the bridge in front you to get onto Starfish island.

D. After you get across the bridge continue straight along this street and
watch to your left for a red archway.

E. Enter that archway when you see it and you should see as you enter the
21st Red Balloon you can shoot with the Pistol at the top of the steps
(near the window closest to the front door of this house).

(Note: If for some reason you don't know where this is you can see this
balloon during the scene of the "Farewell to Arms" Mission.)

A. Drive back out to the street you were on and turn left (East) onto this
street.

B. Turn right (South) into the driveway you come to on your right and then
make your way around to the Southeast corner of this mansion this driveway
goes to.

C. Look up and you should see the 22nd Red Balloon you can shoot with the
Pistol under the overhanging rooftop here.

A. Drive back out onto the street you were on and turn left (West) onto it.

B. Go back across the bridge you came across and then turn right (North) at
the end of this street.

C. Follow this street as it curves to the Northeast up ahead and then turn
left (West/Northwest) on the street up ahead (the one just before you go
under a bridge).

D. As you go down this street you stop when you see the "le Singe d'Arbre"
building to your right.

E. You should see the 23rd Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol under
the awning at the front of this building.

A. Get back on the PCJ to continue along the street you were on and follow
this street as it curves to the left (South) up ahead.

B. Turn right (West) at the first street you come to and then turn right
(North) at the end of this street up ahead.

C. Turn left (West) at the first street you come to and then go into the
entrance/opening at the end of this street.

D. As you enter look to your right (Northwest) and you should see a large
green machine just pass the mound of trash here.

E. Drive around to the North side of that machine and you will see a ramp at
this side of the machine.

F. Look up under the Southern highest part of that ramp and you should see
the 24th Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol under the top of that
ramp.

A. Drive back out onto the street and go East back the way you came on this
street.

B. Turn left (North) at the end of this street and then turn left (West)
into the alley you see on your left (just across the street from King Knuts).

C. Go straight towards the building at the end of this alley directly in
front of you and when you go under the overhang of this building look to your
right (North) to see the 25th Red Balloon you can shoot with the Pistol at
the (Northeast) corner of this overhang.

A. Drive back out onto the street and turn left (North) to continue to go
down this street.

B. Follow this street as it curves to the right (East) and then curves left
back to the left (North).

C. When you reach the curve in the road up ahead turn left (West) into the
alley you see here.

D. Drive down this alley and as you enter the area up ahead look to your
left (Southwest) to see a large hangar shaped building here.

E. Enter that building and go to the center of the building.

F. Face towards the door of this building you just entered and look up above
the doorway near the ceiling to see the 26th Balloon you can shoot with your
Pistol near the center of the ceiling above the door..

A. Drive back out onto the street and turn right (South) onto it.

B. Turn left (East) at the traffic light ahead and then turn left (Northeast)
at the end of this street.

C. After you make the turn look up to the left (North) and you should see the
27th Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol under the Southern side of
the billboard here.

left (North) at the traffic light up ahead.

E. Get off the PCJ just before you reach the end of this street look up to

A. Get back on the PCJ to turn right (East) at the end of this street and
turn left (North) onto the oncoming lanes of traffic at the end of this
street up ahead.

B. To your left you should see a green building go around into the alley
entrance at the Northeastern corner of this building (near the fence) and as
you enter the alley you should see the 29th Red Balloon you can shoot with
your Pistol up ahead near the ceiling close to the Northwestern corner of
the building.

A. Drive back out onto the oncoming lanes of traffic and turn left (North) to
continue along this street.

B. Turn left (West) into the entrance to the fenced in construction site up
ahead and then go through the archway of the building in front of you.

C. As you come out at the back area of this building you will see the 29th
Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol to the right (Northwest) inside a
pipe.

You have now unlocked the "Stubby Shotgun" at your Safehouse(s).

A. Drive back out to the street and turn left (North) onto the oncoming lanes
of traffic to continue along this street.

B. On your right (Northeast) you should see a "Twilight Knife" billboard and
you should see the 31st Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol just below
the Southeast side of that billboard.

traffic and to your left (West) just before you reach the traffic light up

A. Get back on the PCJ to continue North and turn left (West) at the traffic
light up ahead.

B. Follow this street as it curves to the right (North) and after the curve
you will see on your left a "King Knuts".

C. Look up to the right (North) of "King Knuts" and you should see the 33rd
Red Balloon you can shoot with the M16 under the tallest palm tree you see
here.

A. Get back on the PCJ to continue North along this street and turn right
(East) at the traffic light up ahead and to your right (South) you should see
the Hospital or Health Center as it's sign says.

B. You have a choice here:

B1. Go up the ramp at the East side of the Hospital (Health Center) and
about halfway up that ramp look up to the left (Southeast) to see the 34th
Red Balloon you can shoot with the M16 among the Northern branches of the
palm tree here.

B2. Enter the front door of the Hospital (Health Center) and now that you
are on the roof make your way around to the Southeastern corner of this
rooftop. Look up to the left (East) and you should see the 34th Red Balloon
you can shoot with the Pistol among the Northern branches of the palm tree
here.

A. Get back on the PCJ to continue (East) along the street you are on and
follow this street as it curves to the right (Southeast) up ahead.

B. After the curve you should see a building to your left with a health icon
in front of it.

C. Look up to the left (North) from the sidewalk in front of this building
and you should see the 35th Red Balloon you can shoot with the Pistol under
the overhang at the Southwestern corner of this building.

A. Get back on the PCJ to make a U-turn and go back (West) the way you came.

B. After the street curves turn left (South) at the traffic light here.

C. Go straight along this street until you see a fence to your right and then
turn right (West) into the opening along this fence.

D. Go straight (West) towards the parking lot up ahead and then turn left
(South) when you reach the corner of the building on your left.

E. As you go pass the large garage door to your left (East) you should see
the 36th Red Balloon you can shoot with your Pistol under the lowest balcony
on the Northern side of the small building to your right (Southwest).

A. Drive back out onto the street you were on and turn right (South) onto it.

B. Turn left (East) at the traffic light up ahead and then turn left (North)
at the end of this street.

C. after you make the turn look to your left (West) at the Northern side of
the building on your left to see a staircase on this side of this building.

D. Go up those stairs to the top and then look up to the left (Southeast) to
see the 37th Red Balloon you can shoot with the M16 under the over hang of
the building here.

A. Go back down the staircase and go to your left (North).

B. Go to the front steps of the building next door (to the North) and face
away from the steps.

C. Walk out onto the grass to your left (Northeast) and then face towards the
building.

D. Look up to the right (Northwest) and you should see the 38th Red Balloon
you can shoot with the M16 under the overhang of the building here.

A. Get back onto the PCJ to continue North along the street you were on and
after you go under the bridge up ahead look up at the Southwest corner of the
building on your right.

B. You should see the 39th Red Balloon you can shoot with the M16 under the
overhang of the roof at this corner of the building (you can also shoot it
with the pistol if you go up onto the bridge).

A. Get back on the PCJ to continue North along this street and up ahead you
should see above the street the back of a large billboard.

B. Look under the East side of that billboard and you should see the 40th Red
Balloon you can shoot with the Pistol under that billboard.

You have now unlocked the "Molotovs" at your Safehouse(s).

A. Get back on the PCJ to continue to follow this street North again and then
follow this street as it curves to the left (West) up ahead.

B. As you go down this street you should see to your left a blue building and
in the center of the courtyard under that building you should see a Sculpture
with a globe.

C. Look at the South side of that globe to see the 41st Red Balloon you can
shoot with the Pistol on this side of the globe.

A. Get back onto the PCJ to continue West along this street and follow this
street as it curves to the right (North) up ahead.

B. Turn right (East) at the end of this street and follow this street as it
curves to the left (North).

C. Just before you reach the curve in the street up ahead you should see a
green striped building to your right (East).

D. Go around to the grassy area at the Northeastern corner of this green
striped building and look up to the Southwest to see the 42nd Red Balloon
you can shoot with the Pistol under the tree closest to the building.

A. Go back out to the street you were on and continue to follow it as it
curves to the left (West).

B. Look up on the left side of the street as you go down this street and
you should see up ahead the 43rd Red Balloon you can shoot with the
Pistol under the front of the Satellite Dish on the building (just before
you reach the curve in the street up ahead).

A. Get back on the PCJ to continue along this street to the West and follow
the curve up ahead to the left (South).

B. After the curve get off the PCJ (Out of car) and look to the North.

C. Go into the gap/opening between the two buildings you see here at the
curve in the street.

D. Go up the stairs you see here to your left (Northwest) and go to the
Northeast corner/edge of this rooftop.

E. Look to the North/Northeast and you should see the 44th Red Balloon you
can shoot with the Pistol under the bent over palm tree near this corner
of this rooftop.

---------------

A. Get back onto the PCJ and continue straight (South) on this street.

B. Get off the PCJ after you go pass the traffic light up ahead and look up
to your right (West).

C. You should see very high up on the front of this building the 45th Red
Balloon you can shoot with the Sniper Rifle near the top floor of this
building.

D. If you don't have a Sniper Rifle yet you will need to get the Temporary
Sniper Rifle the one that I mentioned in the extra directions for #14 (since
I know some of you would rather get it before starting any story missions).

E. If you don't rememeber it is on the rooftop of the building North of the
Hardcore Pawn shop of Southern Little Havana (North of Sunshine Autos).

F. If you crash too much, have a PCJ, and not kill any cholos along the way

B. Drive along the Northern side of this Stadium/Arena and you will
eventually see a large garage door to your left (South).

D. Look up to the Southeast and you should see the 46th Red Balloon you can
shoot with the M16 under the ceiling of the Stadium/Arena.

E. Head back to Fort Baxter and start completing missions.

H. Once you have completed the Lance mission "From Zero to Hero" start using

distance (If for some reason you don't have the sniper rifle you can just
shoot it with the Pistol or M16 from the street on the eastern side of that
building it is near).

B. Go pass the traffic lights up ahead and you will go across a bridge.

C. After you go across the bridge turn right into the driveway you see here.

D. Drive up this driveway and just before you get to the building at the top
of this driveway drive up next to the picket fence and hedge to your right.

E. If done correctly you should now be able to jump up onto your car and then
jump over the picket fences onto the grassy slope golf course (to bypass the
metal detector at the main entrance of the golf course from taking your
weapons).

F. Go to the right (East) side of the tennis courts and go down the steep
grassy hill to your right (East) of these tennis courts to get as close as
you can to the water's edge.

G. Walk a bit to the North until you can see the 78th Red Balloon you can
shoot with the Pistol to the East/Northeast under the middle of the bridge
you are now near (if you fall into the water swim to the Southeast to get a
boat at a small dock here to get back onto the golf course).

(Note: Hope you are good at flying a Helicopter because this final Balloon
you will need a bit of flying skills.)

A. Now head for the Washington Beach's Police Station rooftop and get into
the Helicopter (the one I mentioned earlier to remember where it was at).

B. You will now want to first fly over to the bridge on the West side of
Prawn Island.

C. Fly to the Western end of this bridge and you should see on the North side
of the street the VCN building (the building with the Helipad and large
satellite dish on it's roof).

D. Look South/Southwest of this VCN building and you should see a tall
building here with a large square hole/gap at the side of it.

E. Here is where the skill comes in you need to fly into that square hole/gap
and land without giving your helicopter too much damage from hitting ledges
at the sides of this hole/gap.

F. Once you have landed go to the center of this building and look up to the
West to see the 99th/Final Red Balloon you can shoot with the M16 up at the
ceiling of this hole/gap.

You have now completed your Search and have now unlocked the "M249" at your
Safehouse(s).

Q. Where can I find some Sniper Rifles?

A. Depending on where you are in the game or if you are able to make your way
to the second island before doing missions will determine what rifle you can
get.

The last one listed below you can get from the start of the game, the third
one on the list will be avaliable after you unlock the second island, the
second one you can get behind a a building Southwest of Sunshine Autos after
the Burning Bridges Mission, the first one listed you can get either by
unlocking the second island or by bypassing to the second island by other
means (bypassing the gates, pipe warping, etc...).

Laser Scope Rifle - Washington Beach Police Station Rooftop near the
helipad.

Laser Scope Rifle - Behind the building near the large fuel containers East
