I.) Introduction: The Segment File from Xenosaga I and II returns again
in III. You can get some really nice gear, ether spells and even a
swimsuit if you spend your time looking for Decoders and Segment
Addresses. This guide will help make the game a lot easier.

IV.) Segment File FAQ
Segment #01
Decoder: Floating Landmass, the second screen on foot. It's in a treasure
chest. You may need to hit the switch in the next room and return in order
to reach it.
Segment Address: Dabrye Mine, second screen. Destroy a wall, then enter
and destroy another one to find the door.
Prize: Witch's Eye (Ring, HP + 300, EP + 50, BL + 50)
Segment #02
Decoder: Complete the first level of the HaKox minigame
Segment Address: Abel's Ark, the green sphere. In the last room before
the boss area, there will be two exits. Choose the one on the right.
Prize: G-Ignis iii (ES Generator, EN: 990)
Segment #03
Decoder: Defeat Erde Kaiser Sigma on Pedea Island
Segment Address: Dark Professor's laboratory basement, Pedea Island.
Prize: EK Sigma Device (Special: teaches everyone the Erde Kaiser Sigma
ether ability)
Segment #04
Decoder: CAT Testing Ground, the room where you meet Juli and Abel and
where Abel draws the picture of Nephilim on the ground.
Address: CAT Testing Ground, a good ways in. It's on the screen after a
AGWS unit is waiting for you. Take the #5 transport if you're coming
from the EVS.
Prize: KWP-XI (KOS-MOS weapon: STR + 29, EATK + 16, VIT + 10, EDEF +10)
Segment #05
Decoder: Labyrinthos, after the Realian invasion.
Address: Labyrinthos, Area 13
Prize: EK Fury Device (Special: teaches everyone the Erde Kaiser Fury
ether abiity)
Segment #06
Decoder: CAT Testing Ground, defeat Omega Id. Take the #6 transport and
use the weapon development key.
Address: Durandal, Park Area
Prize: EK Dark Device (Special: teaches everyone the Dark Erde Kaiser
ether ability)
Segment #07
Decoder: Get all 8 federal reports scattered around Miltia. I wasn't
writing these down as I played because I didn't realize I'd need to, so if
anyone has the federal report locations please email them to me and you'll
get full credit. I do know that the one people miss the most is #6, which
you can get by checking the garbage cans near the second set of binoculars.
When you've found all 8, talk to a girl named Loria in the second floor of
the ANT facility and she'll give you the decoder. You can also get an
update file from Scott's terminal on the Elsa after reading all eight.
Address: Labyrinthos, second floor of the ANT facility. You cannot access
this until after the Realian attack.
Prize: Ring of Coercion (Ring, Null E-Counter and E-Revenge)
Segment #08
Decoder: Pedea Beach, destroy the big rock in the middle of the ocean
Address: S-Line Division, near the beginning
Prize: Tears River (Necklace, Small G+)
Segment #09
Decoder: Received automatically when you defeat Aludra Calf at the CAT
Testing Ground.
Address: Elsa, in the Professor's laborotory. Or whatever that place is.
Prize: EK Device (Special: teaches everyone the Erde Kaiser ether ability)
Segment #10
Decoder: Merkabah, in the big room where you destroy the 8 locks on foot.
Address: CAT Testing Ground, first screen with enemies.
Prize: KAP-NAR (KOS-MOS Armour: VIT: 30, EDEF: 28, STR: 10, BL: 40)
Segment #11
Decoder: Received automatically when you defeat Mai in the Mines.
Address: Merkabah, at the end of one of the circle maze rooms on foot.
Prize: Sweet Pain (Necklace: Max Boost +1, Recovery Ether+)
Segment #12
Decoder: Merkabah, in a treasure chest in the circle maze on foot.
Address: Floating Landmass, destroy the Geocrystal up top and then return
to the lowest level.
Prize: Guardian (Shion Weapon: STR: 36, EATK: 35, VIT: 6, LUCK: 4)
Segment #13
Decoder: Labyrinthos, Area 13. There's a treasure chest in a big room full
of destroyable objects.
Address: Abel's Ark, blue sphere. In the second room of invisible floors,
hit the right warp spot and blow up the wall.
Prize: Dragon's eye (Necklace, Large Rare Item, Display simply enemy data,
EP + 50)
Segment #14
Decoder: Abel's Ark, blue sphere, first room (where the room tilts like
hell). It's in a treasure chest.
Address: Elsa, ES hangar area.
Prize: Iron Maiden (Necklace, Max Boost +2, Small EXP+, Small SP+)
Segment #15
Decoder: Download the information on Tethlla Magus at the ACT facility
(labyrinthos), then talk to Mai at Dabrye Mine.
Location: Labyrinthos, first room after descending the main elevator.
Prize: Hinoka Kagura (Jin Weapon: STR: 36, EATK: 27, EVA: 10, LUCK: 10)
When you've finished: Once you've completed the Segment File, check it
in your inventory and then talk to the three guys hanging out in the ES
hangar where Segment #14 is located. You'll acquire KOS-MOS's swimsuit
(AGI: 5, LUCK: 30) for your troubles.
