1. INTRODUCTION
This is an FAQ for Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose (XS2). This
quick-and-dirty FAQ deals with the Segment Address miniquest, which works
exactly like it did in Xenosaga I. Scattered throughout the game are
various red doors; also hidden throughout the game are associated "decoder"
keys that will help you open the doors. You need both the door itself
and the key to get the treasure within.
Once you get to Second Miltia, you'll meet Swoager's sister (Swoager was
the guy in XSI who helped you with the Segment Addresses). She'll give you
the Segment File, which you can then access from the menu to keep track of
which doors you've found, which keys you've found, and so on.
This FAQ makes use of SJIS encoding in order to display Japanese
characters. I included this feature so that if you do not know
Japanese, you can easily match up the characters on your TV screen
to the characters in this guide. You will need to have support for
viewing Japanese characters on your computer, however. Certain versions
of Windows should have it built in; otherwise, you'll either need to
get a program like NJStar Communicator, or you'll need to get
Japanese character support for Internet Explorer (free from Microsoft)
and open this file in IE instead of Notepad/Wordpad.
2. SEGMENT ADDRESSES
Segment Address #01
Door Location: "Dawn" Important Administration Territory 曙光重用管理区域
Decoder Location: Uzuki Residence ウズキ家
Treasure: Secret Key 8
Note: "Dawn" is the location of Vector's Section One; you start at it
on Disc 2. You will have to see the events with Febronia and Nephilim
before you can access the Important Administration Territory section.
This door is in the room with all of the falling blocks. Destroy them all
to find it in the back.
Segment Address #03
Door Location: Second Miltia City 第二ミルチア市街地, 40 Publishing Agency
Decoder Location: Kukai Foundation City クーカイF市街
Treasure: Robo Parts (Left Leg)
Note: The Decoder is located behind the door for Segment Address #16.
Segment Address #04
Door Location: Ormus Stronghold オルムス要塞
Decoder Location: Momo's Deep Domain, Summer モモの深層領域(夏)
Treasure: Secret Key 9
Note: To get the Decoder, when you reach the part with the several rocks
blocking the river, destroy all the rocks from the left up to the section
with the large box. Then destroy the tree so that the log rolls down far
enough to create a bridge so you can grab the box's contents.
The door is in the area of the Ormus Stronghold with the orange and blue
one-way elevators.

Note: Angelina is the woman who gives you the Segment File in the first place.

Note: To get the Decoder, you must go into the Omega System via simulator
(basically in the post-game) and use characters, not ESs. Ride down the
elevator shaft, then take the path to the left of the save point at the
bottom that you could not go on when you were in your ES.

Decoder Location: Durandal デュランダル
Treasure: Secret Key 23
Note: To find the door, you must first complete G2 Campaign #18 (Janet),
and then take the release code she gives you and input the password
printed on it to the statue in the west area of the city.
To get the decoder, go the Park Area of the Durandal and speak to the
100-type Realien there. She'll say that there are things that even her
database doesn't know about, such as the thing marked #11 she's holding.
Tell her "Is that so..." (second option), then tell her you'll be glad
to take it from her (first option) to get it.

This door is in the area where you had to push the blue and green boxes
to make a bridge. There is an easy shortcut here if you use the simulator;
as soon as you begin the part of the dungeon where you're on foot, examine
the hole in the room where you saved before the boss battle, and you can
drop straight down into the room with the door.

Decoder Location: "Dawn" Important Administration Territory
曙光重要管理区域
Treasure: Secret Key 5
Note: To get this Decoder, in the room with the giant pool, first
destroy the three leftmost boxes on the top side; then climb on top of the
panel and go to the very upper-left corner so that the panel tilts. Now cross
the panel and now go to the very lower-right corner. The panel will tilt
again, destroying the box and releasing the chest with the Decoder in it.
Now return to the top and collect the Decoder.

Note: To get the door, you must first finish G2 Campaign #16, then take
the Iron 4 Score from Margoyles and play the piano in the Iron Man bar.
