If you're reading this, that means that you're reading my guide. Thank you for
that.
This is a guide for Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria that is intended to list all
that the characters in the game say around battle. Be it right at the start of
a battle, in the middle of an attack, or when victory is acheived.
I spent quite a bit of time doing repetitive things and putting my ears close
to my TV's speakers to hear all of these. Despite how unpleasant that sounds, I
actually enjoyed making this guide quite a bit because of all that I learned
about the personality of characters from their quotes. I hope that you will
enjoy reading my guide at least as much as I enjoyed writing it!

sections, as well as corrected some errors. I also reordered some quotes to
make things look a bit neater.

characters' quotes at this point.
-------------------------------------Battle Quotes [03]
Welcome to the main part of my guide. You know, the part it was made for. It's
filled with pretty words and phrases, I can tell you that much. Allow me to
explain exactly what terms I will be using to classify the quotes and what they
mean, as well as the general format I'll be using.
The format is simple. Quotes are divided by where they may be said, and if they
have special requirements or something of that sort, I will put them in
parenthesis next to the quote. Hopefully everyone can understand that. Now, on
to the terms.
Battle Start: These quotes are said once you engage in battle, before you have
control over your characters.
Attacking: These quotes are said whenever your characters perform attacks or
offensive spells. Note that I am not going to be typing "Fire Storm! Poison
Blow! Lightning Bolt!" for every sorcerer. That would be a waste of space.
Break Mode: These quotes are said when a character activates Break Mode.
Soul Crush: These quotes are said when a character uses a Soul Crush, which is
a type of special attack. I will not put Great Magic quotes here, because aside
from the very beginning, they are always the same.
After Special Attack: These quotes are said after a special attack is used,
whether the target lives or dies.
Miscellaneous: These are quotes that not every character will have. They're
really just where I stick quotes that don't belong anywhere else. You know they
must be fancy from that. The preparation quotes for Great Magic will go here
because I am nonsensical.
Taking Damage: These quotes are said whenever your characters take damage from
enemy attacks. Keep in mind that it's not easy to put grunts and such into
text. If the way I am writing some of these quotes and some of the Attack
quotes seems strange to you, I apologize.
Death: These quotes are said whenever a character's HP reaches zero.
Escape: These quotes are said when you successfully flee from a battle.
Victory: These quotes are said once you have won a battle, where you see what
you earned from the battle like Magic Crystals and Experience points.
Game Over: These quotes are said by enemies when you get a game over (all of
your characters die and/or are inflicted with an immobilizing status effect).
That's it. Now, let us finally get to the actual quotes.

A quick note about some of Alicia's quotes: there will be times when Silmeria
speaks through Alicia. It is Silmeria speaking, but the quote is coming from
Alicia. These quotes will have "Silmeria" in parenthesis next to them. Also, at
a certain point in the game, Alicia will get a new set of quotes and will not
say her old ones. These new quotes are marked simply with an asterisk (*) in
parenthesis next to them.

At the beginning of battle, certain characters will have a brief conversation
with other certain characters. There are also some discussions that happen at a
different time. These discussions will have, in parenthesis, the situation they
may be spoken in. I felt that there was no good way to put these into
individual character quote sections, so they get a section of their own.

These are quotes that are shared by characters. The words generally do not
change, only the voice. To my knowledge, Walther and Gyne are the only ones who
change the incantation for Great Magic. So far, all that's here is Great Magic
incantations and the critical hit quotes that critical skills give. Nothing
more to say, so here they are:

I had a rather difficult time hearing some of the Einherjar's quotes, so please
inform me if any of them are incorrect. I'm really not certain about some of
them, because the music was loud enough to drown the quieter voices out.
Something I'm planning to do in the future is explain exactly how level affects
the quotes said. I have a general idea of how they work, but I have to find out
the details still.
If you want to help me, inform me of typing mistakes, spelling mistakes,
missing quotes, incorrect quotes, and all that. If you tell me about missing
quotes, though, please try to give me all the information you can about it.
