- Navigating the Guide -
The entire guide is broken up into sections, sub-sections and so on. There
is one general idea or section and then the section within it are more and
more specific to that particular subject.
You can easily access any of the parts in the guide; all you have to do is
highlight the search code for the section copy it, open the Find function in
your browser and enter it in. Or you could just highight, press CTRL+C,
CTRL+F, CTRL+V, ENTER. That should immediately take you to the desired
section.
The main walkthrough is divided into separate parts to help you find your
place more easily. Just refer to the listing above and find the place that
you are at in the game. Then copy the code next to it and paste it into the
search function (CTRL+F). After you press ENTER or click on "Find Next" you
will be taken to the appropriate section of the walkthrough.

02) Introduction
==============================================================================
Welcome to my guide for the game of Unreal Tournament, I will be your guide for
today. Now if you will scroll down the page you will see the walkthrough, I
will explain to you the basics of the game, the different game modes, some
strategies for each level, and the uses of each weapon.
I will go in-depth on each of the Capture the Flag and Assault levels since I
believe that they can be quite hard if you don't know what a good strategy is
for passing that level. if you don't like the strategies that I explain in
this guide then you can just disregard them and go on your own merry way. I'm
just suggesting possible strategies, so if you think I am an idiot keep it to
yourself, don't bother writing an e-mail to me about it. Or submit your own
strategy for the game.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions about the game, want to suggest
some strategies for a part in the game, or wish to point out any errors that I
have made in the FAQ. If you submit a strategy I will be glad to put in my
guide and I will give you credit. Don't e-mail me to flame me or anything
like that since your e-mail will be promptly deleted if I detect anything of
the sort. I hope this is helpful.
This game is rather easy even on the hardest difficulty levels but I know that
some people really suck at FPS so that may be my reason for making this. Well,
I have barely anything to say for this introduction so just read the damn
guide.

03) Game Overview
==============================================================================
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.1 Weapons
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Damage Rating is the amount of damage a direct hit will do to an enemy
BioRifle
----------
Primary Fire - lump of toxic waste
Damage Rating - 5/10
Secondary Fire - cluster lump of waste
Damage Rating - 4/10
Range - medium
This cool little weapon fires little green balls of toxic waste at your foe.
A direct hit with the primary fire will take a chunk of health away from your
enemy and it will take maybe 3 direct hits to take him/her out. The secondary
fire will shoot little globs of waste that fragment upon impact and do damage in
a wide area. You must hold the secondary fire button down so that the gun can
build up a large glob that will burst unlike the smaller ones. You can booby
trap a hallway with this stuff if you have people chasing after you, just coat
the hallway/floor/ceiling with this stuff and when your enemy comes through the
will be injured, if not killed, depending upon how you did it and when they
came through.
Chainsaw
----------
Primary Fire - thrust
Damage Rating - 7/10
Secondary Fire - sweep
Damage Rating - 10/10 (if aimed well)
Range -close
This is just your standard chainsaw. The primary fire will thrust the chainsaw
into an enemy and chop out a large portion of their life. The secondary fire
will sweep the chainsaw side-to-side. If you have the chainsaw aimed correctly
you can decapitate your opponent, even if you don't cut their head off you can
still kill do a huge amount of damage.
Enforcer
----------
Primary Fire - normal fire
Damage Rating - 2/10
Secondary Fire - rapid fire
Damage Rating - 3/10
Range - close/medium
This is the standard weapon in the game, the weapon you start out with in each
level. This fires out one round at a time in both modes inflicting a minimal
amount of damage on your opponent. It takes many shots to kill anybody that
you may come across, luckily however it has no clips at all so you can fire off
hundreds of rounds without ever needing to reload.. If you kill somebody with
an Enforcer and you pick it up you can fire both at the same time. Be aware
that this weapon shares ammo with the minigun.
Flack Cannon
--------------
Primary Fire - chunks of shrapnel
Damage Rating - 8/10
Secondary Fire - shrapnel grenade that explodes upon impact
Damage Rating - 9/10
Range - close/medium
This lovely weapon fires off little bits of hot, jagged metal at your enemy.
At close range this weapon is devastating, either fire mode will most likely
kill your opponent in one shot, if not most likely in two unless of course your
aim sucks. The secondary fire is the superior attack mode, damage wise, since
you can lob a ball of jagged shrapnel at your enemy and when it hits them or
lands at their feet they will explode in a shower of guts and blood, hehe!!
Impact Hammer
---------------
Primary Fire - charged up pulse
Damage Rating - varies/10
Secondary Fire - rapid impacts
Damage Rating - varies/10
Range - close
This pummeling device is a pneumatic hammer that will hit your opponent with
tremendous force in either mode. If you hold down the primary fire button you
can release a single, powerful, charged up shot. To release the hammer you
just have to run into your enemy, the hammer will automatically release. The
amount of damage you inflict will vary depending upon how long you were
charging the hammer and where you hit your opponent, a torso shot is best. The
secondary fire will release a bunch of small, rapid shots this is not very
practical since your enemies will move away from you when you try to hit them.
You can deflect bullets with this weapon if your timing is right. Try to use
this only when you are out of ammo or just feel like making someone explode.
Minigun
---------
Primary Fire - normal fire
Damage Rating - 5/10
Secondary Fire - faster fire
Damage Rating - 5/10
Range - medium
This is just a poor excuse for a machine gun. This is probably my least
favorite weapon in the game. This, obviously, just fires bullets rapidly at
your opponents. It is kind of difficult to use but when you do you can quite
quickly eliminate your enemies. The secondary fire is faster but less accurate
which is my reason for a damage rating identical to that of the primary.
Pulse Blaster
---------------
Primary Fire - rapid plasma bursts
Damage Rating - 6/10
Secondary Fire - stream of plasma
Damage Rating - 7/10
Range - medium
This weapon fires little energetic balls or streams of plasma at your enemies.
The primary fire shoots little balls which do a slightly above average amount
of damage and the secondary fire shoots a steady, continuous stream of plasma.
This is a good weapon to use in most circumstances.
Redeemer
----------
Primary Fire - unguided missile
Damage Rating - 10/10
Secondary Fire - guided missile
Damage Rating - 10/10
Range - far, far away
I love this weapon. This is the most powerful weapon in the game, which is
obvious without firing it due to its enormous size and amount of ammo, 1 shot.
You can fire a small nuclear missile at approaching crowds of enemies, un-
guided with the primary fire and guided with the secondary. The blast radius
is enormous so make sure you are far away when you fire it or else you may end
up killing yourself. Be aware that you are very vulnerable to attacks when you
are guiding your missiles so make sure that you are in a secluded area or just
use the primary fire. If you pick up two redeemers you can get two shots but
this will rarely happen.
Ripper
--------
Primary Fire - ricocheting blades
Damage Rating - 7/10
Secondary Fire - exploding blades
Damage Rating - 8/10
Range - medium
This weapon shoots little razor blades that either bounce off walls or explode
upon impact. The primary fire is ideal for filling a small area with small
flying death machines or around-the-corner kills. The secondary fire will fire
blades that explode upon impact making it a formidable attack. Now, as to how
you get a razor blade to explode is beyond me but then again the name of the
game is "UNREAL Tournament". Be aware that when you use the primary fire the
blades will only fly around for a short period of time before they fall to the
floor, and they can hit you if you are not careful.
Rocket Launcher
-----------------
Primary Fire - rocket propelled grenades
Damage Rating - 9/10
Secondary Fire - un-propelled grenades
Damage Rating - 8/10
Range - medium
Probably my favorite weapon in the game. This appropriately named weapon
shoots...guess what...no seriously take a whirl at it...no you idiot, it fires
rockets that explode upon impact. The secondary fire releases small un-
propelled rockets that explode upon impact with an enemy or after about 5
seconds. If you hold down either fire button the weapon will release up to six
of either rocket, propelled and un-propelled. Watch the splash damage though
you can quite easily kill yourself if you aren't careful. This also has a lock
on feature for good players. If you can hold your crosshair on the enemy for
long enough it will turn red which means that the rockets will now actively
seek out that character when fired.
Shock Rifle
-------------
Primary Fire - energy beam
Damage Rating - 6/10
Secondary Fire - energy ball
Damage Rating - 7/10
Range - close/medium/far
This weapon fires little energy beams that pack a punch. The primary fire
shoots a lightning fast beam at the enemy that will always go where the
crosshair is aimed. The secondary fire will shoot a slow moving ball of energy
that will require you to anticipate where the enemy will be when it reaches
them. When used correctly this weapon is a good secondary weapon.

You can deal more damage with the shock rifle by firing off the primary fire
to distract your enemy and give you some time to shoot him with the secondary
fire. This little combo deals more damage than if you had just fired off one
shot.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Sniper Rifle
--------------
Primary Fire - rifle shot
Damage Rating - 8/10
Secondary Fire - zoom in on target
Damage Rating - 8/10
Range - far
This is a, well, a sniper rifle. The primary fire shoots off a round without
zooming in on the target and packs the same punch as the zoomed in shot, which
is easier to use. The secondary fire is how you zoom in on a target, hold it
down to zoom in more, when you are zoomed in just fire off rounds with the
primary fire button. In case you need to know, the scope has crosshairs on it
to help you aim your shots.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.2 Armor/Items
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thigh Pads
------------
This item gives you 50 armor points out of the total of 150 maximum points.
When they are coupled with the Body Armor you will have full armor, a total of
150 armor points. When you have armor on it will decrease the damage taken
from opponents weapons and will steadily decrease when you are hit.
Body Armor
------------
This item gives you 100 armor points out of the total of 150 maximum points.
When this is coupled with the Thigh Pads you will have full armor, a total of
150 armor points. When you have armor on it will decrease the damage taken
from opponents weapons and will steadily decrease when you are hit.
Shield Belt
-------------
This will automatically give you full armor, 150 points.
Translocator
--------------
This is a portable teleporting device that is useful for going down large drops
or up onto high ledges that you normally wouldn't be able to get to. Press the
primary fire to release the teleporting module and then alternate fire to
teleport to where the module is. If you misfire you can press the primary fire
again to retrieve the module.
Health Pack
-------------
This gives you 20 health points out of and up to 100 total points.
Keg O' Health
---------------
Gives you 100 health points up to a total of 200 possible points. Usually is
hidden or in an area where you are wide open to attack.
Health Vial
-------------
When picked up these give you 5 health points up to a possible total of 200
health points.
Damage Ampliphier
-------------------
Increases the damage dealt by your weapons almost exponentially. The effect
lasts for 30 seconds and when the amplifier is in effect the weapon in use
will glow purple and there will be a distinct sound to inform you that you have
picked it up.
Invisibility
--------------
Obviously this makes you invisible, for about 30 seconds so take advantage of
this and attack as many people as you can. This does not make you invincible
just invisible.
Anti-Gravity Boots
--------------------
These boots will allow you to jump many times higher than you could before.
You will be able to use them for a total of three jumps so make god use of
them. When you want to use them just jump normally, whenever you press the
jump button when you have the boots you will use up one of your jumps, whether
you like it or not.
Scuba Gear
------------
This allows you to breathe under water. Not very useful except for maybe 3 or
four levels.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.3 Gameplay Basics
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- When you kill someone you will get a point called a 'frag'.
- You can command team members in some ladders to do different things. Press
the Select button to bring up the list of possible commands and then select
one to issue the order to all of your teammates. You can choose from
Attack, Defend, Hold This Position, Cover Me, or Freelance which is where
your teammates will attack or defend depending upon how they see fit. I
do not believe that the rest of the commands need explanation.
- When you kill five people without dying then you will have gone on a
Killing Spree, when you have killed ten people you will be on a Rampage,
the list goes on up until I think 25 straight kills, see how far you can
get.
- If you kill someone and then another within 3 seconds you will get a Double
Kill, if you kill another person beyond that within another three seconds
you will get a Multi Kill, this repeats for the next two levels Ultra Kill
and Monster Kill.
- If when you kill someone you take their head off you will get a message
that says that you have decapitated your opponent.
- When using explosive weapons such as the Rocket Launcher or the Flak Cannon
aim at the floor right before your opponent or to the wall behind or next
to them since the explosive weapons have splash damage that is just
slightly less powerful than a direct hit.
- Try not to fire a lock-on shot at an opponent that is moving laterally,
relative to you, the missile does not have enough maneuverability to steer
towards that person.
- When sniping from above, locate your opponent and aim a little bit ahead of
them and when they reach the crosshairs fire a round off. Try to take into
account travel time for the bullets, it is miniscule but it is enough to
make you miss.
- When in close quarters combat use the strafe key to move around your
opponent while shooting at him, he will miss most of his shots and you will
come out nearly unscathed.
- Do not fire explosive weapons at targets that are extremely close to you.
The splash damage may kill you and you will lose points for being careless.
- Learn the best uses and best situations for each weapon, when you have done
this you will be able to outgun and outsmart your opponents.
- Never stop moving, this makes you quite vulnerable to attacks.
- When a match starts you can move the camera around the arena so you can
note locations of weapons, health packs, ammo, places to ambush your
opponents and many other things. Use this when playing an unfamiliar map
to give yourself a better chance.
- Listen for the sound that people make when they spawn, remember that you
will probably be more heavily armed than them so take advantage of the
situation and get them while they are still stuck with the crappy enforcer.
- Remember that whatever you can do to the enemy they can do likewise to you,
so don't get careless thinking you are superior since you are facing a
computer.
==============================================================================
04) Deathmatch
==============================================================================
This is the most basic type of match. You will be thrown into an arena against
a group of enemies and basically all you have to do is kill them before they do
the same unto you. You will get a point for each kill and the first person to
the set frag limit wins the match.
Levels in order are...
Tutorial
Oblivion
Stalwart
Turbine
Codex
Pressure
Deck 16
Tempest
Curse
Liandri
Agony
Ice Station Zeto
==============================================================================
05) Domination
==============================================================================
This is the second ladder that you can unlock. You will be given a team and
your objective is to capture and hold some marked locations. There will be an
obvious marker at each specified location. The locations and the team that
they are currently held by will be displayed on the right side of the screen.
When you have captured an outpost your teams score will increase steadily
according to how many outposts you currently have under control. All you have
to do to capture a control point is to touch the marker.

==============================================================================
06) Capture the Flag
==============================================================================
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.1 Intro to Capture the Flag
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is your standard capture the flag game, just with guns and explosives.
There is a set score limit such as five, the team that captures the opposing
team's flag five times first will win the match. When you die and you have the
flag you will drop it and it will remain in that spot until someone from your
own team grabs it or someone from the other team touches it, at which point the
flag will go to the original location. You cannot use the translocator while
holding the flag or else you will drop it.
Levels in order are...
Tutorial
----------
Just follow the instructions that you are given, this level just serves to
acclimate you to the UT CTF system.
Niven
-------
On defense get above your doorway via the ramps around the top of the level
and you can easily pick off people that are coming into your base since they
will rarely look up there or come that way to capture the flag, they will
almost always come through the pool of water in the middle.
When attacking set your team to defense using the commands menu and go up
through the same ramps that you used to get atop your base, and drop down in
front of the door. Now if you have the Ripper then you can launch a quick
volley of blades through the corridor and they will probably bounce around and d
own the corridor taking out a few enemies. The enemy likes to hide people
behind the flag or right around it so be prepared to shoot one or two people
that are near the flag. Once you grab the flag do the same thing that you did
to get to their base except in reverse.
Sepulchre
-----------
This is probably the easiest map to score on, so make sure your team is on
defense and then grab the Rocket Launcher and head on out to either entrance,
grabbing the Body Armor on your way. The shield belt is in the middle of the
passageways in the little depression so grab it if there is nobody around and
then go into the other corridor. Shoot any enemies once there will probably
be at least one at this point and go out either side. If you feel like risking
it just go straight up the middle and grab the flag, turn around and blast
away any enemies that are shooting at you and the head into the small opening to
the right. You will probably need a health pack now, so grab one or both of
them. Run out and run to your base shooting anyone who may approach you,
except for your teammates of course. Rinse and repeat.
Eternal Cave
--------------
When defending keep an eye on both openings in the rock wall, the other team
seems to come out of the left opening more than the right so be extra wary of
that. The shield belt is also located in the passage that leads from that
opening so make good use of that. Get some one to stand right in front of the
path that leads to the flag, they can take out most enemies that enter the base
from here since they can view the area by both of the openings, if you do this
it will be rare that an enemy gets through and to your flag.
While your team is on defense run through either passage, I prefer the left so
I can grab the shield belt and go through to the opposing team's base. They
will probably have some people flanking either side of their base and they will
probably knock you off that narrow ramp that leads to the flag when they fire
at you so be careful of them when you go for the flag. When you grab the flag,
and if you killed the people flanking the ramp, don't waste time turning around
just head straight backwards and then hide behind that little ledge at the end
of the ramp to provide you some cover while you turn around, now just fight
your way back to the base and capture the flag.
Facing Worlds
---------------
Just set your team to defense they will usually do a fine job, but if you want
to be more specific than that put someone at the end of the large entrance to
the base, opposite the flag, so that they can shoot people when they turn their
back to grab the flag. Put someone on sniper detail at the top or middle of
the tower so they can pick some people off as they head towards your base. If
you need additional defense get atop that large tower in the middle of your
base and you will have a clear shot of all the people who come in and you won't
have to worry about opposing snipers since their view is blocked. You can also
grab the damage ampliphier from atop here.
When going on offense I like to grab the Redeemer from the second level and
then charge their base, have your team follow you if you are a poor player
otherwise you can just do this by yourself. Run to the top of the ramp and
when you get to the middle whip out the nuke and fire it, unguided, into their
base to clear out all people that can attack you when you enter. Run into
their base grab some rocket launcher ammo and the actual weapon itself that is
right next to the flag. If anybody approaches you just blast them and run out,
there is a miniscule chance that their sniper will get you, but that chance is
multiplied a hundred-fold if you stop moving. So don't stop until you have
captured it. If the Keg-O'-Health is in the middle of the ramps them grab
that when you are on your way to provide a little insurance.
Coret
-------
This is pretty easy if you know your way around. When the game starts grab any
weapon around and head to the center of the map on the middle level. Go down
the wooden ramp to the bottom level and grab the Shield Belt and the Rocket
Launcher. Make your way up and the enemy's base is set up exactly as yours is
so you should have no trouble locating the flag. Shoot any enemies around and
head for the flag. Grab it and go straight ahead into the small, blue portal.
This will bring you halfway to your base, convenient, no? Run down the ramp
to where you got the shield belt and cross over to your base. I don't go on
the upper wooden ramps since I seem to get killed a lot when I do that, maybe
that is just me but I recommend not to do that since the enemy comes through
there a lot, which may explain why I get killed there. Oh yeah, set your team
to defense since the enemy will make a lot of advances on your base.
Guantlet
----------
I prefer to have everybody attack at once since this is a pretty easy map to get
killed on, and when you have everybody attacking at once you have a greater
chance of somebody grabbing the flag and bringing it back. So if you down
through the lower part of this level grab the ripper and when you see an enemy
take advantage of all the barriers and angles and turn the area into a death-
trap. If you go the upper way then grab the minigun and go forward. When you
get into the enemy base there will almost always be someone or a group of people
waiting for you so use my battle tactics above and eliminate all of them.
Grab the flag and make your way back to the base. I prefer not to use the
rocket launcher in this level since the level is extremely cramped, which makes
it very easy to kill yourself with a careless shot. When somebody from the
opposing team gets the flag they will almost always come through in the lower
level through that maze of barriers and that wide, open corridor right before
that base, so look in those two areas for fleeing enemies.
Dreary
--------
This is one of my favorite CTF levels since there are so many ways to sneak up
and get into the enemies base. Set half of your team to defense and have one
person follow you to the enemies base. Go down the ramp and get onto the lower
level when you come out into the open. Go to the small opening on the left and
take the elevator up. Wait for your teammate and then go out through the top
over that narrow walkway and cross over to the other side. There may be an
enemy here so be careful. Drop down into the enemies base and shoot the defend
rs that will probably be shooting at you by now. There are health vials and
health packs and a few weapons on either side of this area so use those to
boost your inventory and health. Grab the flag and go back to your base on the
lowest level changing directions, taking elevators and you should lose any
following enemies. If somebody on the other team grabs your flag stand on the
middle level on that open area on your side and you should be able to nail them
when they come through on any level of the area. If this fails, post someone
right behind the flag where the thigh pads appear every so often, they should
take out any intruders.
Lava Giant
------------
This is one of the easiest CTF levels which is surprising since it is the
second-to-last level in the ladder. When you start out immediately go through
the middle on the upper level and grab the shield belt. If there are no
enemies approaching then press on ahead and enter the base from the back,
relative to you. If you got the anti-gravity boots then you can just hop on in
and grab the flag from the upper level in that little tower structure. If you
have the anti-grav boots then hop on out and dash for your base. If not then
you will have to fight your way out until either you get out, are killed, or
locate the anti-grav boots in their base. Set your team to defend since the
enemy will frequently use the anti-grav boots to quickly land them selves in
front of your flag. The defenders should take care of mostly every intruder
that comes in, but on occasion one will slip out and then you will have to hunt
that little bastard down. One more thing, don't fall into the lava pits.
November
----------
Set two teammates to defense and the others, have them follow you. Grab the
Keg-O'-Health from the top of the crates in the side of your base and the
Shield Belt from the gunners position at the entrance, by the submarine pen.
Go across to the enemies base, by their gunners position and use the
translocator to transport yourself up there avoiding enemies that may be coming
down the corridor towards you. Run up the stairs and when you get to the top
look immediately to the left, there will most likely be a gunner atop the
boxes. Shoot him if he is there and then eliminate anybody to the right, run
and grab the flag, making sure not to fall into the liquid and run to the room
to the left of the stairs, there should be a big hole in the floor, drop down,
you will loose some health so make sure you can survive the fall before you
jump. There will most likely be some people waiting for you at the bottom of
the hole so if you have the rocket launcher throw some un-propelled rockets
down there to kill or hurt them before you proceed. There are some healthpacks
behind the boxes at the top of the small set of stairs. Do not teleport out
through the gunners nest or you will drop the flag so you have to run back to
your base. On defense if there are a lot of enemies coming through you can
grab the rocket launcher from the tunnel that doesn't have the flag and some
ammo as the enemies come through shoot them from the lip of the tunnel, that
should be sufficient.

7.1 Intro to Assault
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For this type of match you will be split into two teams and there will be the
attackers and the defenders. The attackers will have to come into the opposing
team's base and destroy a certain object or series of objects. When all of the
objects have been destroyed then the match will be over and the teams will
switch positions. The current attackers will have to overrun the base in a
shorter time than the previous team did in order to win. If they fail then the
first team wins the match. If neither team can overrun the base then the match
is considered a draw. Make sure that you read the level description before
playing or else you won't know what your targets are.
Levels in order are...
Tutorial
----------
This is just to get you acclimated to the rules and strategies of the Assault
ladder so just follow the instructions.
Frigate
---------
I recommend that you storm the ship from below, jump into the water and you
will see an opening in the bottom of the ship. Get your team to follow you
since they will probably storm in through the front door and get mowed down
quickly. The enemy does not often guard this area of the ship so you may be
able to relax for a moment. Grab the flak cannon and go through the door that
is covered slightly with a blue thingy (I have no idea what it is). Run up
the stairs and shoot any enemies around if you have the rocket launcher pull it
out and fire a few shots into the hallway. Duck into the side room to the side
and follow it to the end, going through several other rooms, when you come out
you will be near your first target. It is just down the stairs so destroy it
and then the blue team will eventually retreat to the upper levels so try to
get there before them or else you will have another small battle on your hands.
You have to get to the upper level of the ship and get near the control panel
at which point the battle will end.
On defense I usually just patrol the main corridor of the ship killing anybody
who enters the door with my trusty Flak Cannon. You can also booby trap the
entrance of the ship with the BioRifle, just shoot some balls on the floor when
people are running down the ramp and it should explode when they are near or
on top of it. The enemy usually never gets past here but sometimes somebody
slips through and then I tell my team to defend and then I use the same
strategy as before.
High Speed
------------
IMPORTANT - falling off the train at any point will result in instant death.
This level consists of 5 train cars hooked together. You will start on the far
side of the train on the flatbed car and will have to work your way up to the
front car. If you can grab the anti-grav boots on the second car and when you
get to the end of the second car jump up onto the roof of the car, when you get
to the end of the fourth car you will have to jump down into the crack where
the cars are joined together, there will be a sentry gun atop the last car so
be careful of that too. Enter the car and go up the stairs, there is a control
panel here go up to it and it will open a door on the bottom level of the car,
drop down and go into the room to end the match.
When you are defending stand in front of the entrance to the first covered car
and tell your team to hold this position using the command menu. Now your
team will kill anybody who enters the car quickly, if you have the Rocket
Launcher then you can quickly dispose of them. Don't worry about an enemy
going over the top since I have never seen them do that.
Rook
------
This level is pretty easy no matter what side you are on. When the game starts
grab the ripper and go out the wooden doors that lead to the courtyard. Tear
down the enemies with the ripper and go into the room on the right, you will
need to get into the hallway so that you can open the gate, shoot the chains
that are holding the wheel in place and then the large door in the courtyard
will be opened, now you have to run out of the castle and make it all the way
out of the courtyard until the match ends, which means that you have escaped
the castle.
On defense just wait in the courtyard for the enemy to come out and as they do
shoot them. If you picked up the BioRifle spray some globs in front of the
door on the steps. If the enemy manages to make it past you and into the
wheelhouse then run into the area where you escaped and grab a Sniper Rifle.
As the enemy comes down through the courtyard towards you snipe them and if you
fail then break out one of your other weapons and shoot them down.
Mazon
-------
Grab either the Minigun or the Rocket Launcher and haul ass down the small
hill and go to the left into the tunnel. Fire away at the people at the end,
or if you grabbed the Rocket Launcher load up on 4-6 missiles and launch them
down in their direction, you should take out all the people on the bottom
level, don't worry about the people on the upper level since they won't usually
inflict enough damage to you to consider them a threat, so with your Rocket
Launcher destroy the two chains that are holding the door closed. They are in
the two depressions flanking the doorway. Once it is open go through the
doorway and go into one of the side passages and you will see a small box set
into the wall that will open the front gate so you can get into the castle
faster than before. Once the door is open go up the ramp, on one side of the
upper level is a switch that will open the doors to the object you need to
destroy. Just try your luck getting to it since the enemy will swarm around
you and will probably kill you quite quickly once you are at the top. Anyway,
once you are in the room launch rockets or whatever you have at it until it is
destroyed.
On defense get into the chamber where you have to destroy the chains. Get
atop the gun tower and when the enemy comes through waste them, the enemy
rarely gets past here when I am playing but if they do happen to destroy the
chains then retreat inside the castle and wait at the top of the ramp, and when
they come up the ramp shoot them with the flak cannon which should be around
somewhere nearby. If you kill some enemies with the rocket launcher make sure
to pick it up, even in the first chamber with the chains, they will make things
much easier for you.
Ocean Floor
-------------
This is probably the most difficult level in the game so I hope you know how to
handle yourself by now. Grab the rocket launcher and the pulse gun and then
jump into the water. There are two pools that you can come out of. Both of
them are guarded by some sentry guns mounted on the ceiling. If you come out
of the pool that is by some boxes, and a ramp right under the sentry gun then
run up the ramp and shoot the enemies that will probably be guarding the
computer console. Fire rockets into it until a message comes up saying that
the console was destroyed. Run down the ramp again and enter the door behind
the ramp there are two consoles on either side of this room, as you go by each
one fire a rocket at it to destroy it. The last console is by the second pool
of water so quickly go out the door on the other side of the circular room and
run past the sentry gun, it is on the wall by the ramp, destroy it and the
match will end.
On defense I usually stay on the upper level by the first pool of water that I
mentioned, as the enemy comes out I shoot them and eliminate them swiftly, but
sometimes they will all come out at once and then one of them slips through and
gets into the circular room with consoles two and three, so I jump down and
follow them. Once they are gone I get back to my post atop the level and do
the same until the time runs out. The computer will come out of the first
pool about 95% of the time so you don't really need to defend the second pool.
Overlord
----------
My favorite level in the game. When the game starts go ahead and grab the
Sniper Rifle and the Minigun and go out the right side of the landing craft.
There will be a sentry gun shooting at you so don't stop until you get down
into the point where there is a message saying that you have breached the
beachhead. There will also be a big cannon type gun shooting at you but luckily
it fires at completely predictable intervals so you can avoid it once you get
the timing down. Once you are inside the tunnel run down and don't stop so you
give the enemy the least amount of time to cut you off. You will emerge into
a small room with a balcony around it where the enemy will be shooting at you
from. Don't waste time shooting at them if they are in the balcony, you will
most likely die in the process. Shoot anybody at the top of the ramp as you
are going up and go into the other tunnel, once you get far enough in you will
get a message saying that you have breached the boiler room, now your team will
spawn here for the rest of the level. Once you get past that point grab the
weapons, armor, and health from the room and head up the ramp into the gun
cavern. Run up the ramp on the far side and then shoot people at the top.
Once you get onto the top platform you will have to go across that tin curved
walkway to the control center and destroy it with a simple rocket blast. Once
you have done that the match will end.
When you are defending go into the portal in the gun cavern and you will be
transported to a room with more portals, go to the tower portals on either side
and you will get either the Sniper Rifle or the Rocket Launcher. Use that to
pick the enemy off as they come in through the path to the base. You are in
almost no danger up here but on occasion the enemy will fire up there. If you
are good enough the enemy will never breach the beachhead but that can be pretty
hard to do. When they breach the beachhead go back into the portal and go to the
boiler room portal, pick up the flack cannon from the balcony right above the
doorway where the enemy will come through and wait there. When they come
through fire the flak grenades at them, I have taken out all the attackers in
one shot a few times. If they should get past there and they breach the Boiler
Room then you will have to go back to the Gun Cavern the way you came in as an
attacker since there is no return portal. Stand at the top of the ramp, next
to the portal out of the Gun Cavern and fire at the enemy as they come up. If
they make it past your defense and they make it onto the walkway to the control
center you may be able to knock them off the walkway with a shot from the
rocket launcher that is aimed at their feet, if you know your aim sucks and you
won't get a direct hit. Or you can try to stand in the actual control center
but then they may fire at you with a rocket launcher and miss and the control
center is destroyed. Do what you see fit.

08) Challenge
==============================================================================
In this ladder you will go head-to-head against a single enemy. This is just
like death match just your playing against 1 highly skilled enemy.
Challenge Levels are...
Phobos
Flux
Malevolence
Hyperblast
For these just practice, practice, practice. Follow the guidelines for normal
death match gameplay and er....don't die.
