INTRODUCTION

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-

Hi, welcome to my first FAQ. This little number is the result of countless
requests by members of the Gamefaqs US forums. It seems that if you have a
little too much knowledge about panels in this game, You end up having to share
it. No matter.

This guide is NOT for beginners. By reading this FAQ, You must have at least
have some prior knowledge of how this game works. You will NOT find the answers
to the following questions: -

- How do I play the game?
- How do I make Damascus?
- How do panels work?
- How do Joint, Triangle and Line Combos work?
- How do I Calculate stat from panels?
- How do I calculate weight of equipment?
- How do I shoot web?
- Other unrelated Gaming Aspects

I recommend you read up some of the other great FAQs on this site regarding
those topics. Ramtieger's Systems FAQ has all the details you'll ever need.
What you WILL find in this guide is...

- Basic Character Building Strategies

V0.01: First Draft. The formatting is not all uniform, thanks to a lot of copy
pasta from the forums. Most of the information is done. Still needs a lot of
double checking for errors and accidental TABs.

I know, silly to put the index in the beginning, isn't it? but you need these
resources especially if you want to develop your own builds.

2. The Basic Builds [BSB200]

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-

in this section, we will explore the various basic builds the game has to offer,
notably the autowin build as well as building harder characters like mages and
warrior mages.

For the basic builds, I will only be using LV4 Panels. It is actually quite
unlikely that you will get LV5 Panels by the end game, especially on shorter
adventures. However, this does not mean ditching LV5 panels when you get them,
especially when it adds more stats.

================================================================================
  The Almighty Autowin Build(TM) [BAW201]
================================================================================

The autowin build is the easiest, simplest and most powerful build a character
can use. It has 2 very basic aims that will make even the weakest characters a
powerhouse.

- Maximise Strength
- Hit things with an Axe

The Axe has many strengths going for it. Its Panel has among the highest stat
growth in the game, and Reverse Delta (LV4 Time Lapse) does the best damage,
pound-for-pound.

There are a total of 3 different autowin builds. Each having thier own merits.

    Build A

===[PCH4][KCK4]===
[THW3][PCH3][KCK3]
===[DUMP][AXE4]===

This build is meant for characters with base strength of 2 or 3. Since they have
low multipliers, the strength gain for your character will be more dependent on
bonuses rather than actual stat growth. This build is also very easy to get
early on in the game, and remains strong until the end. Note that you can try
upgrading to LV5 Joint combo and a LV4 line combo, if you have the patience and
luck. (or playing Ventus' Adventure)

1 Base ST = 28 + 15 = 43 ST
2 Base ST = 35 + 15 = 50 ST
3 Base ST = 43 + 15 = 58 ST
4 Base ST = 51 + 15 = 66 ST
5 Base ST = 59 + 15 = 74 ST

Suitable Characters for this Build: - Anzan, Armic, Norff, Pharr, Platy, Ruby,
                                     Silver Girl, Ventus

    Build B

===[AXE4][INB4]===
[THW4][PCH4][KCK4]
===[DUMP][SHD4]===

    Build C

===[PCH4][INB4]===
[SHD4][KCK4][AXE4]
===[DUMP][THW4]===

Build B and C are basically the same, Difference being the positioning of the
Line Bonus. The difference is where you want to put your stronger stat:
Endurance or Spirit. Throw, having better skill growth than shield, goes into
the stronger stat. here are the calculations for comparison. This build is
better suited for characters with strength 4 or 5 (3 is Okay if you get LV4 Iron
Body Early.)

1 Base ST = 30 + 10 = 40 ST
2 Base ST = 38 + 10 = 48 ST
3 Base ST = 47 + 10 = 57 ST
4 Base ST = 55 + 10 = 65 ST
5 Base ST = 64 + 10 = 74 ST

Suitable Characters for Build B: - Edel, Hiro, Iskandar, Mordeus, Norff, Nuage,
                                  Platy, Rebecca, Ruby
Suitable Characters for Build C: - Armand, Francis, Iskandar, Laura, Michelle
                                  (No Gauntlet), Mordeus, Yanii, Pharr, Ruby,
                                  Silver girl, Thomas, Ventus

================================================================================
  The Basic Thief build  [BTF202]
================================================================================

A thief is an indispensable character for any team. You need them to deal with
Treasures and Traps, and with thier high skill, can deal an incredible amount of
LP damage. Characters with high skill also have amazing evasion and receive less
LP damage. There are two nearly identical builds for a thief, depending on the
character and your preferences.

    Build A

===[LKS4][KCK4]===
[DAG4][DFS4][PCH4]
===[DUMP][SHP4]===

Build A is the Easier of the two builds, and is the more balanced version. The
Line of Key gives its +10 Bonus to Skill, while the Joint Melee gives +6 Bonus
to Strength. Recommended for either slightly heavy characters that need that
extra melee panel to keep using the light melee line, or a character with high
skill AND strength.

1 Base SK = 28 + 10 = 38 SK
2 Base SK = 36 + 10 = 46 SK
3 Base SK = 44 + 10 = 54 SK
4 Base SK = 52 + 10 = 62 SK
5 Base SK = 60 + 10 = 70 SK

Suitable Characters for this Build: - Platyphyllum, Kong Ming, Marie, Sapphire,
                                     Henri, Roy

    Build B

===[DFS4][KCK4]===
[DAG4][LKS4][INB4]
===[DUMP][SHP4]===

Build B is Undoubtedly harder. Using the rarer Iron body panel, this build is
recommended for very light characters that doesn't need the skill modifier for
light melee, or for characters with low strength growth and high skill growth.

1 Base SK = 30 + 10 = 40 SK
2 Base SK = 38 + 10 = 48 SK
3 Base SK = 47 + 10 = 57 SK
4 Base SK = 55 + 10 = 65 SK
5 Base SK = 64 + 10 = 74 SK

Suitable Characters for this Build: - Marie, Sapphire, Henri, Josef, Judy, Roy

================================================================================
  How to build mages  [BMG203]
================================================================================

More often than not, Mages are more trouble than their worth. There are no
specific ways to build them, nor are they intuitive. However, They do three
things that Pure Melee characters cannot, that is Healing, Buffing and Dealing
with Crowds (except with bows, of course).

Some basic rules exists regarding mages that are not too hard.

- Elemental growth is more important than magic growth.
  Magic growth actually adds only a small percentage to the damage, unless
  you're using forbidden magic.

- WATER remains the most useful element throughout the game.
  Map panels have the second best elemental growth in game, and a line of maps
  gives bonus to water. even equipment like Damascus Accessories, Faerie Shield
  as well as silver helms and boots have water support.

- FIRE is generally the most powerful element.
  Well, I say generally because the strongest attack spell belongs to wood, not
  fire. But Fire Support does exist in some very good armor, such as Glossed-
  silk Bandanas and Oak padded mail.

- NEVER increase WOOD elemental growth UNLESS you have Thunderbringer.
  All wooden spells, except for blended ones and thunderbringer, are percentage
  based, so there's no need to do that or use wood support unless you're
  planning on building a Thunder Mage.

- Magic Blender turns a mediocre mage into an awesome mage.
  The Best and most powerful spells are only available with this awesome panel.
  Place it on a joint combo with a magic tablet for awesome bonuses.

The Bread-and-Butter build for most mages is...

Fortuneteller on your strongest element
Line Bonus of Map OR Joint Bonus of Map and a Shield Panel
Magic Tablet and Blender Joint Combo.

===[DUMP][FTN4]=== ===[ARH4][DUMP]=== ===[DUMP][ARH4]=== ===[FTN4][DUMP]===
[ARH4][CVG4][RDG4] [MAT4][CVG4][FTN4] [FTN4][CVG4][MAB4] [CVG4][RDG4][ARH4]
===[MAB4][MAT4]=== ===[MAB4][RDG4]=== ===[RDG4][MAT4]=== ===[MAB4][MAT4]===

                                    OR

===[SHD4][FTN4]=== ===[CVG4][RDG4]=== ===[MAT4][MAB4]=== ===[FTN4][RDG4]===
[MAT4][DUMP][RDG4] [SHD4][DUMP][FTN4] [FTN4][DUMP][SHD4] [MAT4][DUMP][CVG4]
===[MAB4][CVG4]=== ===[MAB4][MAT4]=== ===[RDG4][CVG4]=== ===[MAB4][SHD4]===

etc...

of course, this is an overly simple build. Not all characters are good with
water, and I haven't even taken account of the secondary elements. Building
magical characters is fun and it does vary by character.

================================================================================
 Warrior mages?  [BWM204]
================================================================================

Of all the builds, warrior mages seems to be the most useless. why on earth
would you want to build a character that is mediocre in every way instead of
focusing on what makes a character powerful?

If you say versatility, then you're half right. A damage dealer that can heal
or cast Missile Guard is an ASSET. A fire warrior mage with corona can deal
with large groups or dispatch large bosses with Blackout skills like Bopeep and
Bloody Mary.

   Example A

===[SWD4][PCH4]===
[DUMP][THW4][MAT4]
===[KCK4][MAB4]===

Here's an example of a good STR warrior mage build. The right-hand holds an
elemental support dagger, while the left holds a sword with deflect and rear
blade. This character can do anything from heal, deal damage to instant-killing
a large monster.

   Example B
EA3
===[EAV4][KCK4]===
[DUMP][LCS4][PCH4] SK4
===[BOW4][DFS4]===

The other half of the answer is Stats. That's right, Stats. Thieves, for
example, not only receive a +10 to Skill for a LV4 Line Bonus of Key, but also
a +10 to earth. with sufficiently high earth growth, They will be capable of
doing damage with both daggers and magic. All it require is some creative
Placement of the panels. The above example may not look like a warrior-mage
build, but it is. Eavesdrop is a Key panel with high magic growth that keeps the
earth stat in the TL corner High.

   Example C

===[AXE4][PCH4]===
[DUMP][THW4][PHB4]
===[KCK4][PHB4]===

The other example is actually from a negative panel. You get a massive stat
boost, even more than a line bonus and joint bonus of melee, If you use phobia
panels. With a joint combo of Phobia, a character gets +6 Strength and +10
Magic, while the panels themselves provide ample elemental boosts. This is
exclusively for Strength based characters using either axes or swords, and
usually nets a higher strength growth than either Autowin Builds! Of course, not
being able to damage two different types of monsters can be a real bummer, which
is why phobia characters make very good healers and support magicians. Hit
enemies that you can, heal allies when you can't!

Usefulness: 3/5
Build Difficulty: 4/5
Best Role: Tank
Best Damage Output: Earth Magic

hmmm... what a predicament! Despite his rotundity, Anzan has some wonderful
growth in certain areas, namely his Endurance, Spirit and his Earth and fire
Element. His LP is the Highest in the game too. However, he has a lot going
against him.

1.First, his weight. anzan is the heaviest character in the game. this means
  a)he will be slow. If you expect him to cast spells, expect him to go last.
  b)he has next to no chance of being rescued
  c)This does let him tank some damage, but this is not so good seeing he has
2.Very low Strength and Skill Growth, so his defense is questionable and he
 receives lots of LP damage. this is not helped by the fact that...
3. His earth panel is between his strength and skill panel. oh, the horror.

How does one build Anzan you ask? letting him do what does best: tank damage.

With Endurance and Spirit of 58 and 56, Anzan no longer needs to fear any status
ailments, especially with the Status Barrier from the Diamond Crown. However, he
does only mediocre damage by the end of the game even with the line and joint
bonus of melee.

I recommend this build for beginners. It is easy, It doesn't require much
thought, and it works. To realize his full potential however, you need to delve
into his magic, especially earth.

O Slash, O Pierce               O Slash, O Pierce, @ Heat, @ Ice
                               1x Earth Support

This is a totally different build of Anzan, focusing on boosting his earth stat
with a line of keys, added a shield panel to increase his evasion, and
ultimately increasing his skill from a line of keys AND a well placed Magic
Blender. As a result, His earth damage is amazing, he takes a little less LP
damage, and he evades better despite his weight.

In fact, We've buffed him up in weight so he can be as slow as possible. This
strategy lets Anzan go first, Tank Damage and let the rest of the team do a
guarunteed 4-hit combo.

With More Well-Rounded Strength and Skill Stats, This is THE build if you want
to use Raksha. You might wonder why I chose magic rather than endurance for
the dump stat. Well, Endurance is pretty important for Anzan, and he also has
poor magic growth, so any old dump panel biased towards stats will do for him.

Note that the prerequisites of earth's most powerful spell, STONERAIN, require
you to master 3 LV4 Magic Tablets, or a LV2 forbidden tablet dropped by a
guckie. Nearly impossible for everyone besides Judy, so Keep that in mind.

5 Strength, 5 Skill, 21 LP. Despite the bad HP recovery, Armand is pretty much
The best Character in the game stat-wise. He has a lot of work to do due to his
crappy starting panels, but Melee Panels are pretty easy to come by.

His 4 Fire is also in a great position for a Fire Warrior-Mage build, but it's
not worth dumping his skill stat over. Just for reference, here are his stats
using both autowin builds. Remember that Autowin B gives better stats, as long
as Iron Body comes by.

Finally, Don't Forget that for Kurt's Quest, He needs Null Paralysis for his
Final fight, and you only get that from a Diamond Ring Accessory.

Grace, IMO, is the hardest character to build in the game. She has absolutely
EVERYTHING going against her. She innately has all the really good water spells
learnt, including Purify, bubble blow AND Ice needles(!), but look at her water
stat. She has amazing endurance growth, giving her the option to be a tank, but
it shares a space with her strongest element, metal. Even Her weight is JUST
over the Light arts range, The most useless of all weight ranges.

why is building grace important? she is the highest LP character in Mythe's
quest, so she definitely needs a tanking role. yet, we arrive at a point
between making her a tank that can use magic, albeit not very well, vs ditching
her strong magic background altogether for skill.

Note that in Mythe's Quest, Every Character should have Obsidian armlets, for
its invaluable null petrify ability which is essential for the final boss fight.

A Useful Character, since she has all the essential skills for Locksmith, Defuse
and Sharpeye, but this, unfortunately, is a role that Tiffon already does well
(but needed in Ruby's quest, perhaps?). Amazing skill and endurance regardless.
With no Melee Panels and heavy setup, The character is perfect for learning
Raksha, even if you replace Iron Body with a Kick Panel. Null Petrify is very
important; especially during mythe's final boss battle.

This build is not too hard to make, but is not my favourite, as it discards all
her damage possibilities with mass spells like Ice needle or shock. Still, a
tank that does Magnificent LP damage, can deal with large groups, and inflict
Blackout from not one but TWO skills? great.

+High Skill, Less LP Damage
+High Endurance and Null Petrify
+Useful for treasures
+Heavy with Raksha

-Discarded her innately powerful magic
-Locksmith Role better left for other characters like Tiffon or Roy
-Heavy

Now this is interesting. The build is much harder than the first build, That
I'll give ya, but as a result the Stats are much more promising. Since You've
learned Ice Needle, If you ever get your hands on a Holy Warrior Scroll, You'd
have successfully blended Siren by blending Supersonic with Weapon Blessing,
Detect Undead and Ice Needle. Thanks to your amazing Metal Growth rate The spell
Does a lot more damage than Ice needle. I'd use this build if I get
Fortuneteller/Magic Blender Early.

Since Wood spells are percentage Based, You don't need much stat in them, but
you can still balance your dump panel towards elements, and spells like life
boost, recycle and missile guard is very valuable considering mythe's final boss
battle.

Use your dump panel for magic tablets to learn spells, and bias it towards
element, such as familiars.

+High Endurance and Evasion.
+High Magic, Metal and water. Lots of Magic attack and support Options.
+Powerful blended magic in siren.

-Low Defense and spirit
-Reduced ability to tank
-No Familiars. Durability intensive.
-Rare panels and equipment

You gotta be pretty lucky to use this build. Substitute that Iron Body with a
Punch panel is earier and will get you more well rounded stats, but you don't
get to use raksha, which is a okay, considering you have Bloody Mary at your
Disposal.

The Cool thing is, this build has Moderately High skill without having to
sacrifice that metal elemental growth. If you get the component spells early for
Siren and you want to try something a little more versatile, this works well.

Unfortunately, dumping all that water growth means you won't be using your set
of really powerful water spells, and you must stick to wood for support such as
missile guard and recycle.

Light, Great stats, but low LP. Henri is one of those characters that can be
built in many ways, but unfortunately, he lacks survivability. Him being a "you
lose ifhe dies" character is a bummer, too.

Shall we beef his skill and make him a Dagger Thief? How about an earth
warrior-mage? A Wood/Earth Pure Mage Perhaps? All Interesting, All have their
flaws. for example, A line bonus of key = good skill boost and good earth boost
too, but earth and skill share panels. He has Great Strength and Skill Growth,
but with a Bias towards skill, He is not suited for the autowin build. (him
handling spears deal more damage than Axe, and spear panels have poor Growth)

Here's the good Ol' Thief Build. This build never fails to be useful for a
character with light weight and high skill. Amazing Damage output from Light
Kick and Dagger Lines, Great Evasion, useful both in battle and on the adventure
map. A must have character!

His earth growth is quite good too. If you have a spare LV1 Earth magic tablet,
have him learn boulder and he can even open magical locks thanks to high earth
growth! Great thief if there ever was one.

Henri Mage builds are extremely flexible. Depending what LV4 Magic tablet you
give him, Henri's Elemental growth is amazing in both earth and wood. However,
Earth lacks any really damaging blended spells, while "stone rain" requires him
to  learn spells from elements he is weak in. Thus, A LV3-4 wood tablet or LV4
water tablet is almost always a better choice, since they have Thunderbringer.
In addition, Water Spells are a must for any mage, so a Line combo of map is
always good.

Pity about those stats though.

It is important to remember that Arcane Tongue panels never come up at the
panel selection screen, so whatever you do, do not dump panels over it!

By keeping His Magic Tablet and Arcane Tongue in place, This build requires
minimum effort to erm... build. Make sure you learn Anti-Fear from the Druidic
Scroll and Purify from the Metal Tablet. That should be it as far as those two
tablets are concerned. what you REALLY need to look out for is a LV1-2 Earth
Tablet. Learn Boulder and you are SET. prepare to witness the power that is
CRIMSON FLARE. Blend Corona with Firewall, Detect Blood (these from your fire
tablet) and boulder for this. It does roughly the same amount of damage as
Reverse Delta, if not more.

Be VERY wary of his low defenses though. By maximising fire support, he ends up
with only 27 armor and without slash/pierce barriers on his body, meaning even
with Iron Body, he still takes physical damage like wet TP.

If you've lucked out on Master Magician, use Familiars. You need it to trigger
fortuneteller anyways. good luck getting this!

This takes a lot more effort to build, but boy is it worth it! Amazing Earth and
Skill Growth, making him a beast with Bows. Subsequently High earth growth means
he can deal great damage with spells like Boulder. Plus, You have a great set
of skills to use on the map especially since you don't have a Thief in Kurt's
Quest.

The hardest thing about this build though is the timing. The prerequisites for
getting the panels are a pain, Since you need to master several tablets while
managing your line of keys, a familiar AND a fortuneteller panel. You also need
to master your existing tablets so you can erase them for new ones. What's More,
the prerequisites of earth's most powerful spell, STONE RAIN, require you to
master 3 LV4 Magic Tablets, or a LV2 forbidden tablet dropped by a guckie.
Nearly impossible for everyone besides Judy.

mage builds, the key is getting Fortuneteller, Magic blender and the right
tablets at the right time.

What's also interesting is her massive Skill growth. Judy is nearly immune to
physical damage from this build since she just deflects them all. It's Just a
pity that with no space to put a dagger panel, that skill growth has no
offensive capabilities.

This is THE kongming build. You have high skill with good strength, magic, earth
and are lightweight, Meaning great options for damage. Light Kick, Light Punch,
Earth Arts for support and magic locks (anti-fear is important in armic's quest)
and Bows for large groups. This build trumps the pure Melee build in usefulness,
too.

Sacrificing Skill for well-rounded elemental growth, you now have even more
options for magic damage. The Line of Maps gives bonus to water, while the high
elemental growth keeps earth high. This is a nice and versatile build compared
the line of keys, but not so useful on the Map.

The equipment varies depending on the spells you want to use. If you want Wood
as your 3rd Element, then go full water support. If you want to use fire, Sub
the fearie Helm for a Glossed Silk Bandana for the fire support. If you want you
use both, then sub in the black shield so you can imbue the 4th element into the
shield.

Oh man, how did someone like Kurt end up as a main character? The LV5 Gauntlet
is more a burden than a saving grace and while in Judy's Quest, It doesn't even
level up! He is, Stat-wise, the worst character in the game.

Yes, Building Kurt is a bit of a Conundrum; He has Good Elemental Growth, but
the Gauntlet panel has the worst elemental growth in game, while Kurt Himself
Has Horrible Stat Growth but the Gauntlet has the best stat growth in game. I
guess It's a trade-off for having Josef on your adventure. Ahh, Josef, how
wonderful art thou.

Anyways, Let me demonstrate...

Yes, Contrary to popular belief, Kurt is not made to be a Melee Character. in
fact, Water and Fire Spells remain his strongest source of damage.
Unfortunately, Kurt needs that extra Shield Panel to keep his HP from depleting
in his 1 on 1 events, or he will bleed LP profusely.

The true virtue of this build is that in Judy's quest, the element growth of a
Lv5 and a lv1 Gauntlet aren't very different, so he remains useful. Still,
Since Judy has better Melee Characters in her quest, and she gets only 6, I'd
skip him altogether.

Reverse Deltas for single Targets, And Corona For big groups. Simple but
functional Role that highlights his strengths, but doesn't stop him from being
the worst character stat-wise.

equipment if she want to use the light melee line, but if she becomes a mage
knight, then she can only carry good equipment if she has three Melee panels.

something? This is it. The only Viable Laura warrior-mage build the way it's
meant to be. It is Light weight, Has great Stat and elemental Growth and Has
equipment that support each other well..

Building Process is simple:

1 - Put Fire Magic Tablet in ML spot
2 - Put Fire Familiar in BL spot. Use it to learn spells.
3 - Once you get Fortuneteller from using Familiars, replace in BL.
4 - Once you get Magic Blender from using Fortuneteller, replace in BL.
5 - Place The rest of the Panels Accordingly when you get them
6 - ????
7 - PROFIT!

and OH THE OPTIONS! Laura has Four Big skills: Light Melee for basic attack,
Corona for large groups, Bopeep for Bosses and Crimson Flare for the final
battle. She can even use support Magic like Power Surge, Life boost and Missile
guard should the need arises.

ah, Mythe. People often fall into the trap of selecting him for their first
adventure. I think that among all the main characters, Mythe is simply the
hardest to build. ever. He's got poor LP, Base weight that is JUST above the
line and sub par stat growth that leaves gun-loving noobs bewildered and
enraged. I think Mythe is the sole reason why this game is unsuccessful.

What does he have going for him? two extra Tool Panels that have godawful growth
and little to no in-game effect. Only POSSIBLE use is for that is the +3 skill
bonus, but you're hardly benefiting from the extra metal boost AND you're
throwing away useful space for much needed things like shield panels.

Still the glaring strength is in his Water growth, and since it doesn't share a
space with his skill panels and in built purify, he's got "Water Warrior Mage"
written all over him.

Mmm, guns. Lots of potential for damage, albeit not combo friendly. This is a
very heavy mythe, so you can invest in learning things like raksha, too. If you
have the patience, during your quest to acquire tiffon, go up against the
sabretiger with as heavy an equipment you can find, and try to spark raksha. If
you do, congrats, you've made the rest of the game ridiculously easy. The other
good thing is that the line combo is not level dependent, so you won't have to
frown should a lv5 panel show up. in fact, Level 5 panels from gun, kick and
Iron Body is worth 69 (lol) skill, which is weeell high.

Yet, guns are mediocre later in game. This build can help babysit other
characters for a long time until the Knights of the round, but you better have
strong enough allies to go up against the last Knight and Chaos.

Well Well... This is a much more interesting build than I thought. I mean, that
water Growth! The damage from this will be amazing if you learn the right
spells. The Dump Panel Also gives you some interesting options... Want more
Evasion? Balance it towards skills. Chance upon a Fire Tablet? Balance it
towards elements. Mythe also has amazing fire growth, so it'd be silly to pass
that up.

The trouble is of couse the damage of Metal and wood. The poor elemental growth
means the choices for blended magics are limited. Most likely you would simply
be buffing up your Ice needle for damage. Again, If you were interested in
Fire, Then they have more damaging single target spells like Crimson Flare you
can blend for big battles.

This is also a great build if you're on Armic's Quest. A character that can

mediocre at best. I really don't think it's worth the time and effort on a
character that, in both of the quests she appears in, is the worst character
choice.

In mythe's Quest, She's the second lowest LP character in the game, (the other
being michelle, and she has a full 5ST/5SK growth and removed Gauntlet,) while
in Armic's Quest, She's one of the 4 characters that you can only have three of,
the others being Kong-Ming, (Awesome) Rebecca (awesome x3) and Edel. (Max Stats)

Just Use Autowin A and spears if you want to use her, but seriously. Don't.

My absolute favourite character! Platy's Awesomeness not only lies in her
massive LP, but also a great positioning of her stats. She even has all the
wood spells, except thunderbringer, learned form the start, making her useful
even IF you use her as a pure melee character.

Even better, If she get her hand on a Tablet with thunderbringer, be it Diva
Madini's Magic Tablet, The Druidic Scroll or Forest Philosopher Guarnieri's
Magic Tablet, prepare to witness the most powerful unblended Spell damage in the
game.

First things first, you gotta have the Autowin Build. I know you must be jaded
of this build by now, but it wins games. I don't recommend this build on
platyphyllum though; it reduces the power of her wood spells. Still, 90% of wood
magic is percentage based (Missile guard, Life Boost etc.)

If you're wondering... why Stone leggings? simple: weight. This equipment setup
nets platy's weight JUST under the limit, to insure bang for buck in her light
melee arts. If you're in Laura's quest, then the Vayu Boots do the same AND
gives you more armor and wood support. All the right Nulls in the right places,
too. Blackout for Laura's, Paralysis for Kurt's.

There's a certain Perfection to this build. here we have Massive Wood(lol),
Strength and Magic, all thanks to the Melee Line Bonus and the Phobia Joint
Bonus (+16 to Strength, anyone?) Sure, Phobia is somewhat detrimental to
gameplay, but since you're a wood mage, it shouldn't really matter; You'll be
casting life boost and missile guard while tanking some damage.Simple, easy to
build, effective. No shield panel, though, so unfortunately you'd be taking more
damage than you really want.

Secondly, Phobia panels are quite hard to come by. It requires you to get hit
by a certain type of animal lots of times, and waiting for that second panel to
come is equally fustrating.

The other disadvantage is that there is little room for growth. you won't be
learning any new spells any time soon, and you never really know with phobia
panels. Use this build if you aren't lucky enough to get a lv3-4 Wood artist
tablet early on in laura's quest. I mean, with this high magic and wood, all
you get with platy's initial magic list is one or two more durability during
recycle. That's it. Might invest in a fire familiar in the dump panel if you
want some extra damage, but why? you've got Reverse delta and Three Dragons!

Here we have a build to end all mage builds. look at that water and wood stat!
Fire, water, wood, all of platy's magical strength built into one. The chance to
learn Thunderbringer, which can lead to Green Requiem (Read Bopeep) or Holy
Thunder (Read Holy *BEEP*) is not to be missed, not to mention all these
defensive spells! Platyphyllum is build for this stuff guys.

The lack of skill and strength is a cause for worry though, and so is the
heaviness. hopefully purify, missile guard and life boost will be more than
enough to cope with the barrage of damage.

Good Strength, perfect for autowin, but low LP so not suited for frontlines.
Great Fire and Wood Growth, but right smack at the Magic Panel.

Autowin B would be my choice for pure stat, no question. Be a pity to throw away
that str growth. Harder are mage and Mageknight builds for the reasons stated
earlier. the choice wouldn't be so hard if her magic growth wasn't so awesome...

Roy is noted for His ability to use lightweight martial arts almost regardless
of armor choice. He has decent stat growth and sub par elemental growth, so he
leans heavily towards fighter Mage, but would also make a great fighter.

If you're wondering why the unforged quartz sword is important, it's all to do
with weight. Since Roy's Base weight is 0, we need to buff up his weight so that
his martial arts deals the most damage without crossing the limit.

Unfortunately, the damage is lessened by the low Strength Growth, which could be
compensated, to an extent, with the dagger's blackout skills. Aura is a little
useless, but is there for higher spirit growth, Much needed in judy's quest to
avoid confusion from Chaos' Voidwalker.

This is the true Meaning of Maximizing Damage. You have Roy with Great Strength
and Spirit with decent skill and endurance. Your Weight is right at the top
threshold of the Light Melee line, making your Melee skills deal Massive damage,
somewhere in the 2000-2500 range per hit.

The lack of null confusion is thoroughly compensated by high spirit. This is
probably the best way to abuse roy's lack of Base weight.

This will be your typical sapphire build, Geared towards damage with Fire Magic.
Great Fire and Magic Stats, as well as decent evasion. Pity that low skill
though. As with grace, Tanking is an important aspect in Mythe's game, since all
characters need to be able to receive some damage without losing LP.

Another Important aspect are the boots. Heavier Boots will let you use the
heavy punch, a.k.a "raksha" line, Including Obsidian Boots, Hydra Boots and
Black Greaves, without changing into heavier armor without Fire Support.

This is, by far the most functional build of sapphire.

This is my Go-To build for Vearst. We have 1) Line Combo of Map + Tablet Joint
Combo + Completed LV4 Water Tablet and 6 levels of water Support for a really,
really powerful vearst. Of course, this all depends on finding that elusive
Diva's Tablet, as well as sparking a LV4 Magic Blender. (carrier Missions, Yes.)
You also have the added Bonus of Raksha, And it deals quite a bit of damage too
because of the weight.

Alternately, You can trade Magic Blender for Iron Body. You trade about 5 WA
for the ability to better tank damage. If you want to go even further, trade
the Magic tablet for a Shield panel after you've learned the necessary spells!
All in all, you can lose up to 9 water, but your evasion and tanking abilities
go through the roof!
