I dedicate this to Will Beimers for suggesting this great game to me.
Thanks Will and I look forward to breaking your ankles as I rain down the
jumpers! Seriously, you have no prayer whatsoever man, so get ready to feel
the pain when I start busting rims all over your sorry ass!
Also, for Cougar, Howler, and Koonce. I miss you, and I hope you are living
it up in the afterlife as you did in this world. You will always be in my
memories, and you will never be forgotten.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Somebody call the SWAT Team?!? It is the second edition of the crazy
street ball from EA BIG! So get your kicks, put on your balling clothes,
and head down to the court to rock the rim, bomb from long range, and
hot dog! It doesn't matter if you school some NBA All-Stars or some
Street Legends, just make sure to do it with style!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------Controls-----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) This section will look at the basic controls for offense and defense.
o---------o
Offense

computer, leaving passing player in your control
(without ball). Press it again to resume control
of the ball handler.

L Button : Uses Turbo.
R Button : Uses Turbo.
Z Button : Uses Turbo.
Y Button : Trick move.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------Advance Moves--------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) This section will explain how to pull off the more advanced moves in the
game.
o---------o
Offense
o---------o
Alley-Oop : Wait for a teammate to jump into the air, and then pass (A
Button) to deliver the ball to the flying teammate.
Back 2 Papa : Hold two Turbo Buttons and press the A Button to pass the ball
off the backboard to come back to the passer. this works best
if the ball handler is located around a ninety degree angle in
relation to the backboard.
Big Dunks : Hold two or more Turbo Buttons and press the B Button while
going towards the hoop with an unimpeded lane to the hoop.
Different combinations of Turbo Buttons will perform different
dunks, and all three Turbo Buttons together should only be
used if the ball handler is located around a ninety degree
angle in relation to the backboard.
Dive : Double tap any Turbo Button quickly to cause your player to
launch himself after a loose ball.
Dunk : Charge the net and press the B Button to flush the ball. You
can alter the Dunk to a Lay-Up by pressing the B Button.
Off The Heezay: While facing a defender and as you are standing still, hold
two Turbo Buttons and press the A Button to pass. This will
cause the ball handler to pass the ball off the defender to
himself. The higher the skills of passing and ball-handling,
the more likely this trick will work.
Pick Call : By pressing LEFT or RIGHT on the Directional Pad, your
ball handler will call for a player to come and block the
defender for the ball handler. It does take a few seconds to
occur, so be wary of having the ball stolen.
Pump Fake : Tap the B Button (shoot) to cause your player to fake a shot.
Do this to cause a defender to jump for a block, but be
warned this picks your dribble up, meaning you can not move.
Put Back : After a shot goes up and rims out, hold down two Turbo
Buttons and press the Y Button to jump up into the air to
grab the ball and flush it through the hoop.
Trick Handling: By using all different combination of Turbo Buttons along
with a Trick Button, you will be able to perform 13 higher
end trick moves than the default tricks without Turbo
Buttons. Very useful for getting a defender off of you.
o---------o
Defense
o---------o
Trick Counter: When you hold down two Turbo Buttons and press the X Button,
your defender will try to steal the ball. However, it will
only be successful if your opponent's ball handler is
attempting Trick Handling. This move takes a little bit of
time to perform though, so your defender will out of position
if the move fails.
Turbo Block : When you hold down two Turbo Buttons and press the Y Button,
your defender will jump into the air to try and block the
ball with two hands instead of a one hand swing. If
successful, the defender will grab the ball.
o-------------o
Gamebreaker
o-------------o
Gamebreaker One : After a player fills up their Gamebreaker meter, they can
use it to perform a Gamebreaker One. If you dunk, you
will gain a point while your opponent's score drops by 1
point. If you shoot a Long Range Gamebreaker, you will
gain two points while your opponent's score will drop 1
point. The Long Range Gamebreaker can be blocked by
defenders. Perform it by holding down two Turbo Buttons
and pressing the B Button to shoot.
Pocket Gamebreaker: You may decide to save your Gamebreaker One so you can
go after getting a Gamebreaker Two. To do so, have your
Gamebreaker powered up, have possession of the ball, and
then press UP on the Directional Pad to store it. This
will cause your Gamebreaker Meter to empty, allowing you
to start refilling it for a chance at Gamebreaker Two.
Cancel Gamebreaker: If your opponent has decided to Pocket their
Gamebreaker, you can use your Gamebreaker to cancel
their pocketed one. Do so by pressing DOWN on the
Directional Pad while your Gamebreaker is still active
and you have possession of the ball.
Gamebreaker Two : After building your Gamebreaker Meter a second time
(provided you Pocketed the first Gamebreaker), you can
then perform this Gamebreaker. Have possession of the
ball, hold down two Turbo Buttons, and then press the B
Button to unleash the power. If you choose a dunk, you
will gain 2 points while your opponent's score drops by
3 points. If you choose a Long Range Gamebreaker, your
score will gain 2 points while your opponent's score
drops by 4 points. Also know that this type of
Gamebreaker is UNBLOCKABLE!

7) This section will outline all their is to know about this Play Mode.
o---------o
Central
o---------o
A real mix of different teams, with shooting teams, am inside team, and an
awful team. Take them all on at Foster Beach.
=====
Teams
=====
Chicago Bulls : Rose, Chandler, and Williams will be the most likely
trio when you play the Bulls, so expect them to
pound it inside with Rose supplying a little bit of
an outside threat.
Cleveland Cavaliers : A poor blocking and rebounding team, hit them with
your big guys as they send Miles, Jones, and Wagner
after you.
Detroit Pistons : Robinson, Wallace, and Hamilton make for a mean
inside presence, so use your big guys or beat them
with speed and shooting finesse.
Indiana Pacers : O'Neal, Artest, and Miller will cause you some
troubles with two inside men (O'Neal and Artest) and
one outside threat (Miller). Go big to win this one.
Milwaukee Bucks : Mason, Mason, and Payton are incredibly bad blockers,
so go big to dunk all over them.
Minnesota Timberwolves: Garnett is an all-around threat, Brandon is a great
ball handler/distributor, and Szczerbiak offers an
outside presence, making this trio quite deadly. Go
with a couple big guys and a ball handler to counter
their strengths.
Central Legends : Isiah Thomas, Larry Bird, and Clyde Drexler form the
Central Legends, making one of the more powerful
trios you will face. Bird is an amazing shooter,
Drexler is a dunking machine, and Thomas is one of
the Point Guards ever. Try to take them to the hoop
while keeping them shooting from the outside (you
then block their shots). Winning will unlock the
three Legends as well as the Foster Beach court.
o------------o
North East
o------------o
The easiest section to play in because the teams are mostly short shooting
teams. Take them all on at The Cage.
=====
Teams
=====
Boston Celtics : Watch out for Pierce and Walker as those two
will do the majority of the scoring, from both
inside and outside.
New Jersey Nets : Jason Kidd has amazing handles, stealing, and
passing, so try to shut him down as effectively
as you can. Try to keep Kenyon Martin and
Dikembe Mutumbo away from the hoop as they play
the best there.
New York Knicks : Sprewell, Houston, and McDyess are the players
you will likely face, so be ready to block long
range shots as well as some dunks.
Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers: Iverson is the biggest threat, but you will need
to watch out for Coleman and Van Horn inside
while also blocking Snow's outside presence.
Toronto Raptors : Vince Carter is the only outside threat this
team has, so go with a blocking line-up to keep
Davis and Williams off of the scoreboard.
Washington Wizards : Jordan and Stackhouse are the two threats on
this weaker team, so keep Stackhouse outside
while giving his Airness very little to work
with.
North East Legends : Composed of Wilt Chamberlain, Nate Archibald,
and Bill Russell. They are a powerhouse inside
presence, so use your toughest blockers to win.
For beating this set of Legends, you will gain
access to The Cage (court) for Pick-Up Games as
well as these three Legends themselves for Be A
Legend Mode or for Pick-Up Games.
o------------o
North West
o------------o
A Region with two powerhouses in Sacramento and Portland, along with some
generally average at best teams, making for an average difficult Region.
=====
Teams
=====
Denver Nuggets : Go big to take care of Camby and Howard inside while
still keeping an eye on Whitney's outside shooting.
Gold State Warriors : Blocking and Stealing stats are low for Jamison,
Dunleavy Jr., and Richardson, so try to take advantage
of this by combining Tricks and big dunks to get lots
of Gamebreakers.
Portland Trailblazers: A strong team that features Stoudamaire (ball handler),
Wallace (scary inside presence), and Pippen (all
round great player). Do not be afraid to use the long
range shots to bury these guys early.
Sacramento Kings : Webber, Bibby, and Stojakovic will supply the team for
Sacramento, which gives them two deadly outside
shooters and Chris Webber rattling the rim and
deflating the ball with swats. Either go big and
goaltend their long range shots, or go small and fast
to steal the ball repeatedly.
Seattle Sonics : Allen, Campbell, and Lewis cam all Dunk well and shoot
great (except for Campbell) as well. A dangerous team
that requires a good set of blockers for you (two will
do with one ball handler/outside presence).
Utah Jazz : Malone and Stockton are the talented ones here with
Harpring being the best of the crap. Really watch
Stockton and Malone closely t get the victory against
them.
North West Legends : Pete Maravich (Pistol Pete),George Gervin, and David
Thompson are the Legends team here. Maravich is
deadly with his jumper, so keep close tabs on him,
while his two teammates are great shooters and
dunkers! Play a strong defensive effort with your
blockers to win. Upon winning, you will unlock the
three Legends as well as the Greenlake court.
o------------o
South East
o------------o
A Region devoid of a powerhouse team, mediocrity is the rule of the day.
However, both Orlando and New Orleans can be deadly if you do not properly
match-up.
=====
Teams
=====
Atlanta Hawks : Abdur-Rahim, Ratliff, and Terry contain the necessary
set-up to be a bother to you with one well-rounded
(Abdur-Rahim), Ratliff (inside guy), and Terry (outside
threat). Just bring your blocking game to shut them
down.
Memphis Grizzlies : Gasol, Williams, and Battier all bring in average
offensive stats backed with average defensive stats.
They should pose little (if any) trouble to you.
Miami Heat : Grant and Mourning supply an inside presence with Jones
providing an outside threat, they are an underrated
team to have to face. Go big or go home when playing
these guys.
New Orleans Hornets: Surprisingly tough with Mashburn and Davis supplying
both Dunks and Long Range shooting while Brown gives
them more inside threat. They are weak on the block
however, so a big line-up will you serve you well for
dunking on them.
Orlando Magic : McGrady and Hill are well round (talented) players, and
Armstrong makes a third outside threat. Go big and dunk
on them because their blocking skills are VERY suspect.
South East Legends : Darryl Dawkins, Bob Cousy, and Oscar Robertson are the
team of Legends to beat, and they bring some inside
presence with Dawkins and the Big O. Bob Cousy brings
a nice mix of skills to complement these two, so be
ready. Try to outshoot them while playing tough
defense inside, and you will gain access to all three
Legends as well as Mosswood Court.
o------------o
South West
o------------o
Easily the strongest competition you will have to face from any Region, many
require you to be tough inside while making good choices shooting.
Dallas Mavericks : Finley, Nowinski, and Nash are a deadly trio from the
outside, with Finley and Nowinski being inside dunkers
and Nash being the ball handler. Try to find a good
compromise between speed and size so you can keep up
with them while blocking their long range bombs.
Houston Rockets : Francis is an amazing player, Ming is tall and plays
tough, and Mobley complements them with shooting
ability. If you can not shut down the long range shot,
be ready for a tough game.
Los Angeles Clippers: Odom, Miller, and Brand are all tough inside with some
decent outside shooting. Probably the easiest opponent
in this tough Regional.
Los Angeles Lakers : O'Neal, Bryant, and Fisher from a tremendous trio with
O'Neal dominating inside, Fisher outside, and Bryant
showing his amazingly well-rounded skills. Just try
to play tough D and win in a slobberknocker.
Phoenix Suns : Marbury and Hardaway bring the outside presence as
well as great ball handling/stealing skills, which is
just great for Marion who handles the inside duties.
A diverse line-up will serve you best against these
fellows.
San Antonio Spurs : Duncan and Robinson are twin towers that dunk and
block like no other duo in the game. Smith adds an
outside shooter/ball handler to the team, and you have
an amazing team that is perhaps the best trio in the
game! Go big with one good outside shooter to beat
these guys.
South West Legends : Dominique Wilkins leads this Legends squad with his
amazing dunking skills, and he is accompanied by James
Worthy (good inside guy), and Moses Malone (more
inside presence). Go big and beat them at their own
game, which will unlock the three Legends themselves
as well as the Lincoln College Court.
Upon completing NBA Challenge Mode, collect your 1,000 Reward Points and
head off to play another section of the game.

---------------------------------Strategies---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
11) This section will give a few strategies that should help you to become a
more effective player.
a) Play the style of game that will help you achieve your goals. If you are
behind, work on getting Long Range shots to drop. If you are ahead, work
on getting Dunks while earning Trick Points. Remember that it is
sometimes best to alter your style when comparing yourself to the
strengths of your opponents.
b) Try to build your Gamebreaker Meter quickly. If you use numerous
tricks/fakeouts, followed by an Advanced Dunk (especially a Nerve
Damage), you can build your Meter in a few short baskets. If you can
successfully do this, you will be able to keep an opponent working extra
hard to make up their lost points.
c) If you reach Gamebreaker One and you feel that you could fill the Meter
again before your opponent will fill theirs, do not be afraid to pocket
the Gamebreaker. This will allow you to knock your opponent farther down
the scoreboard while further increasing your score.
d) Before beginning Be A Legend Mode (which requires a Created Player), save
up your Reward Points from Pick-Up Games and NBA Challenge Mode. this
way, you can begin the Mode with a powered-up baller, making it easier for
you to win.
e) To earn some easy Reward Points, play Pick-Up Games that are over quickly
(like games to 1). This makes unlocking things and Player Creation that
much easier.
f) Use Got Game (Basic) skill level when trying to unlock Milestones as the
computer teams play a much more relaxed style of game (meaning easier an
easier time meeting the requirements).
g) Be sure to keep an eye out for great NBA Talent as you move through Be A
Legend Mode because you never know when a great NBA Star will appear for
you to add to your squad.
