Hello there everybody, my name is Andy.
My online alias was Omega Cosmo a long time ago,
and this "long time ago" that I speak of was the days when I got this account.
Thus, this is the nick I will be using throughout this little cute FAQ
for the game Narutimate Hero 2 for the PS2, obviously.
You may however call me... Cosmos!
This is my first FAQ in a long while so I might be a bit rusty,
but stick with me.

3. Why An Assist FAQ?
---

You might remember, if you played the first Narutimate Hero,
that the matches were very long.
In NH2, this is not the case. They are fast, intensive and brutal.
And since this is how it works now, a good assist move can easily determine
the match. I am not kidding. Some moves are very devastating, and
knowing how to use them correctly is a must. And hey, it is very funny to
experiment with different kinds of assists... at least if you ask me.

To perform an assist, you need to get the "handshake" item from your
support character. After that just highlight it and use!

4. The "Friends" System
---

This is a term which you will hear a lot, so I'll explain it.
Basically, this is how you acquire new assists in the game.
It is a very neat feature indeed. It is also very simple.
By pitting fighters against each other in VS mode (2-player, computer,
doesn't matter) they will gain a friendship point after each match.
After 3 of those points the characters can use each other
as assists. Easier put, let's say Itachi fights Sasuke 3 times.
After those 3 fights, Itachi can pick Sasuke as assist & Sasuke can
pick Itachi as assist. Easy, isn't it?
Some characters have unique assists, such as Doutou who has Nadare.

There is however a way for any character to use these unique assists.
Simply pit the character with the unique assist against the same
opponent (in other words, mirror match!) and after 3 fights... enjoy!

Here's an accurate list to how you get the different unique assists,
since some might not work. For example, ANBU Kakashi VS ANBU Kakashi
times 3 won't unlock Iruka & Asuma. In fact, it will unlock neither;
regardless of the fact that he has them both from the start.
In the same fashion, Orochimaru - Sealed will not unlock the sound four.

Just to give you an overall feel and of course to make sure you know

Info: Poor little boy from the water country. Sidekick of Momochi Zabuza.
He wields a mask which is used to make people think he is a hunter-nin,
one who hunts renegade ninjas.
Description: Haku will run out from your position and grab your foe,
performing several hits on him/her.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Not bad. But not particularly good either, it's fast but
pretty easy to block. Moderate damage.

Hyuuga Hinata - Successor

Info: An "imaginary" version of Hyuuga Hinata, which is intended to be her
when she eventually becomes the head of the Hyuuga main family.
Her speed & damage is vastly superior to the original version.
Description: Hinata will appear at your spot and perform a spin, damaging
your enemy if he/she is nearby.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Good damage & a nice defensive move, but the range leaves
something to be desired.

Uzumaki Naruto - Kyuubi

Info: When Uzumaki Naruto goes mad, his hidden powers are unleashed...
Description: Naruto will summon a frog at your spot. Identical to
Jiraiya's assist.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 2/5
Because: SLOW! Bad range. Not worth the effort.

Uzumaki Naruto - Maito Suit

Info: Ever wondered how Uzumaki Naruto would look in Rock Lee's clothes?
Here you go!
Description: DYNAMIC ENTRYYY!!!!! Naruto will kick your enemy, in this
move which is identical to Maito Gai's.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Inferior to Gai's version since it's much slower.

Momochi Zabuza
--

Info: A jounin from the hidden village of water. He is very dangerous,
wielding an enormous blade. He is also Haku's mentor.
Description: Zabuza will summon a water dragon which will crash into
your opponent.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: One of the best jutsus in the game. In it's assist form it
is also very useful. Fast and damaging.

Shizune
--

Info: Tsunade's apprentice and the niece of her former boyfriend. She looks
harmless but is actually of jounin level, as she fights evenly with
Yakushi Kabuto.
Description: Shizune breathes poisonous gas which poisons (duh) your foe,
even if he/she blocks.
Effect: Poison
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: ABUSE poison. Poison is your friend. It does great damage overtime
and lasts quite a bit. Unless of course your enemy has leveled up
his/her resistance against status ailments...

Hatake Kakashi
--

Info: The leader of gennin team 7, he is a mysterious man who has a
sharingan in one of his eyes. Few people know why. He is also the rival of
Maito Gai.
Description: Kakashi will appear behind your foe and stick his kunai up
his/her... rectum.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: Good damage and since it attacks from behind it can trick people
sometimes.

Uzumaki Naruto
--

Info: The main character of Naruto, he is an energic boy with extreme powers
hidden within.
Description: Naruto will throw out a big shuriken which will turn into a
clone of Naruto, attacking your foe.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Impressive range, but unfortunately it's a bit easy to predict
even if the shuriken turns into Naruto.

Haruno Sakura
--

Info: She is a kunoichi (female ninja) proficient in genjutsu
(illusionary techniques).
She is in love with Uchiha Sasuke and serves as the series' female lead.
Description: Sakura will rush your foe with several hits.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: It's easy to hit with and damaging even if your foe blocks.

Uchiha Sasuke
--

Info: The best friend and rival of Uzumaki Naruto. He lives to kill his
brother, Uchiha Itachi, because he slayed the entire Uchiha clan; leaving
Sasuke alone to achieve vengeance.
Description: Sasuke will breathe fire on your enemy.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: Fast and damaging, even if your foe blocks. Who can demand more?

Kazahana Doutou
--

Info: The villain of the Naruto movie.
Description: Doutou will appear at your position and summon a
black whirlwind, which damages your enemy with multiple hits.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: A good move which is hard to avoid, a bit slow but works
quite well anyway. Not as good as it is when you use it yourself though.

Hatake Kakashi - ANBU
--

Info: Kakashi during his ANBU (special ninja troop) years.
Description: Kakashi will charge a ball of chakra which he will
unleash upon your foe.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Very damaging, but infuriously slow.

Hyuuga Hinata
--

Info: The shy to-be successor of the Hyuuga clan. She is secretly
in love with Uzumaki Naruto.
Description: Hinata will heal you. The move cannot be canceled
out by your foe.
Effect: Life Regain
Overall Score: 2/5
Because: Healing is good. But it's very little and extremely slow.
It would have been better if your stats got a boost too, like
they do when Hinata performs it as a playable character.

Aburame Shino
--

Info: A mysterious guy from the Aburame clan. This clan lets bugs
live inside of them, feeding on their chakra. In return
they gain control over the insects.
Description: Shino will throw out a swarm of insects which will
damage your foe's chakra.
Effect: Chakra
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Chakra damage isn't as important as life damage since
it can be manually recharged. Other than that, very good.

Inuzuka Kiba
--

Info: A loud guy from the Inuzuka clan, famous for their
control over dogs. Kiba himself has a little cute one called Akamaru.
Description: Kiba will throw Akamaru, which will piss (!) on your foe.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 2/5
Because: Slow and the damage is decent at best.
Also, it's disgusting.

Maito Gai
--

Info: The sensei of Rock Lee, Hyuuga Neji & Tenten. He is the
rival of Hatake Kakashi and always seems to be in a happy mood.
He is idolized by Lee.
Description: Gai will kick your foe. VERY fast.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: It's been toned down. In NH1, it was the best assist move.
It's still very good however.

Nara Shikamaru
--

Info: A lazy but very intelligent guy who specializes in shadow
jutsus. Best friend of Akamichi Chouji.
Description: Shikamaru will appear at your spot and if the enemy
is VERY close he will connect and perform some flashy moves.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 1/5
Because: Slow. Bad range. Stay away!

Akamichi Chouji
--

Info: An obese guy who is always eating something. Best friend of
Nara Shikamaru.
Description: Chouji will run over your enemy in the shape of a
big ball.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: It's fast and damaging, even when your foe blocks it.

Yamanaka Ino
--

Info: Rival of Haruno Sakura, she is part of the Ino-Shika-Chou
team. She is also in love with Uchiha Sasuke.
Description: Ino will throw out 5 poisonous flowers.
Effect: Life/Poison
Overall Score: 5/5
Because: Excellent! With 5 different flowers chances of hitting is
high. And as usual, poison takes effect even when blocked.

Tenten
--

Info: The female member of Maito Gai's team. She likes to use many
types of weapons in her fighting style. She is very fond of
Hyuuga Neji and always supports him.
Description: Tenten will summon items for you.
Effect: None
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: It's a very good move but since you don't always get neat
stuff, the score will have to be a 4. You often end up with
useless landmine thingies which just plain suck.

Hyuuga Neji
--

Info: Due to him being from the branch family of the Hyuuga
family, he can never succeed it even though he is the
most promising member of it. For this, he bears a grudge
against his cousin; Hyuuga Hinata. Neji believes strongly in fate.
Description: Neji will appear at your spot and perform a spin,
damaging your enemy if he/she is nearby.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Good damage & a nice defensive move, but the range leaves
something to be desired.

Rock Lee
--

Info: Lee idolizes Maito Gai. His goal is to prove that you can
be a good ninja even though you can't use nin- & genjutsu.
He is VERY devoted.
Description: Lee will appear and do a spinning kick at your spot.
Very fast.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: Good damage and very fast.

Orochimaru - Sealed
--

Info: Orochimaru after he got his arms sealed by Sandaime Hokage.
Poor sod.
Description: Orochimaru will get his tongue around your foe,
damaging his/her life & chakra.
Effect: Life/Chakra
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: Can be difficult to hit with, but since it damages
both life & chakra it's still very useful.

Sabaku no Gaara
--

Info: An insane gennin from the sand village. He is the younger
brother of Kankuro & Temari aswell as the son of the Kazekage.
At birth he had the sand demon Shukaku put inside him.
Description: Gaara will appear and stretch out his monstrous arm.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 2/5
Because: Avoid. It's slow, lacks range and is weak.

Kankuro
--

Info: Older brother of Gaara. He's a skilled guy who uses his
puppet, Karasu, to invoke fear in his opponents.
Description: Karasu will spit out several poison bombs.
Effect: Life/Poison
Overall Score: 5/5
Because: Damages life, grants poison (even if your foe blocks!)
& very easy to hit with due to the many bombs.
Probably one of the best assists in the game.

Temari
--

Info: Older sister of Gaara & Kankuro. She's a very dangerous
girl who likes using her fan to invoke various wind elemental
attacks.
Description: Temari will unleash a wind wave which, upon hitting
your foe, will damage him/her in a mealstrom.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 5/5
Because: Wow, the sand crew knows their stuff. This move is very
fast and damaging. It's just as good as in NH1.

Yakushi Kabuto
--

Info: The sidekick of Orochimaru. He's a very mysterious man of
jounin level who can use techniques based on medical level
since he was raised by a doctor.
Description: Kabuto will put your foe to sleep.
Effect: Sleep
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: Very good. IF it connects... which is definately
not easy against someone even remotely proficient.

Hoshigake Kisame
--

Info: The partner of Uchiha Itachi. He is a missing-nin
from the water country who wields a large blade called Samehada.
Description: Kisame unleashes a dolphin which hits your enemy
for good damage.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 5/5
Because: EXTREMELY damaging and moves in a very tricky way.
Even proficient players can have problems dodging it!

Uchiha Itachi

Info: The older brother of Uchiha Sasuke.
He slayed the entire Uchiha clan.
He is currently working for the mysterious organization Akatsuki.
Description: Itachi will throw out a water clone next to your foe,
which will explode.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 5/5
Because: Unbelievable damage and hits your foe anywhere on the screen.
Almost too good.

Sandaime Hokage
--

Info: The third hokage of Konoha village. He is known as
"The Professor" due to his extreme skills.
Description: Sandaime will appear at your spot and create an
earth elemental wall.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: A bit slow and not too damaging, but can be tricky.
Can also block out some moves.

Jiraiya
--

Info: The pervert of the legendary sannin and former teacher
of Yondaime Hokage. He is a very skilled man who likes to summon
frogs and write erotic novels.
Description: Jiraiya will summon a frog which will drop down on
your foe.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 2/5
Because: Pretty slow and predictable. Lacks range too.

Tsunade
--

Info: The fifth hokage.
Also happens to be the granddaughter of the first hokage.
She is famous for being the kunoichi of the legendary sannin and her
insane strength.
Description: Tsunade will crush the ground with a dropkick.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 2/5
Because: Hard to hit with and hardly does damage when blocked.
Disappointing range too.

Orochimaru
--

Info: The evil one of the legendary sannin. Has many ambitions,
for example acquiring all the world's jutsus and getting the
body of Uchiha Sasuke.
Description: Orochimaru will perform a sword combo on your foe.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Very damaging but the range is truly limited.

Info: An academy teacher of Konoha.
He was the first person who acknowledged Uzumaki Naruto
for who he is.
Description: Iruka will shout and a diabolic bubble (...) of
random words will assault your enemy.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 2/5
Because: Pretty weak and hard to hit with. Also extremely weird.

Sarutobi Asuma
--

Usable By: Nara Shikamaru, Akamichi Chouji, Yamanaka Ino,
Hatake Kakashi - ANBU
Info: The leader of one of the gennin teams.
He is always seen with a cigarette in his mouth.
Description: Asuma will dash towards your enemy and upon connection
he will perform a combo.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Grabs can be very hard to hit with, even if they are fast.
Moderate damage.

Rouga Nadare
--

Usable By: Kazahana Doutou
Info: The most trusted man of Doutou. He appears in the Naruto movie.
Description: Nadare will invoke a glacial fish of some sort.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: A lot better than it looks actually.
Can hit several times for good damage even when blocked.

Jiroubou

Usable By: Orochimaru, Orochimaru - Sealed
Info: Guardian of the south sound gate.
An obese guy who is very loyal to Orochimaru.
Description: Jiroubou will attack your foe and suck his chakra out.
Effect: Chakra
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: Again, chakra damage is not as important as life damage.
But still, a good move.

Kidoumaru

Usable By: Orochimaru, Orochimaru - Sealed
Info: Guardian of the east sound gate.
A guy who resembles a spider, he is very loyal to Orochimaru.
Description: Kidoumaru will, upon connection, put up a net and
damage his foe.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: It looks neat, but is a bit hard to connect with.
Decent damage.

Tayuya
--

Usable By: Orochimaru, Orochimaru - Sealed
Info: Guardian of the north sound gate.
A pretty girl who fights with a flute and uses harsh language.
Another person very loyal to Orochimaru.
Description: Tayuya will grab your foe and play the
flute for a while. Then she'll beat him/her senseless.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 4/5
Because: Just another grab really.
But it gets an additional point for coolness.

Sakon
--

Usable By: Orochimaru, Orochimaru - Sealed
Info: Guardian of the west sound gate.
An androgynous guy with a split personality.
The strongest of the sound four.
Description: Sakon will grab your enemy and perform his
infamous "Do Re Mi" combo.
Nothing special.
Effect: Life
Overall Score: 3/5
Because: I dig Sakon very much, but this move is not good
in any particular way. It's neat that they included the
"Do Re Mi" though.
