   1  JAKS CONTROLS

Jak has some crazy and weird attacks which you should try all so you know which
move you use when.
Daxter has no  moves, he  only sits  on Jak's shoulder  and  has all the  funny
comments on his account. And  he gets thrown around like  a furry jojo when Jak
attacks.

     A  JUMPS

Normal jump
______
Just press X once and this is the normal jump.


Doublejump
______
You perform the double jump by pressing X once and while you are in midair you
press X again.
Of course Jak jumps higher with the double jump and so you can reach for higher
cliffs and edges.
But watch out, if you  press X too late  the second time Jak  won't accept this
and doesn't  jump again  and higher.  Most of the  times the  double jump  only
works while you are walking or running and not out of the stand.


Higher Jump
______
Kneel down by pressing R1 and then press X. If Jak spreads his legs you have
done everything right.


Roll Jump
______
This jump is important to jump long distances. Once you need this jump you know
what I mean.
To do a rolljump you first  have to roll while running  by pressing R1 and then
while you are rolling around press X.
You have to press the button while the previous action is still happening. This
means press R1 to  roll while you  are still running  and press  X while Jak is
still performing his roll.
If you jump into a lurker with a rolljump you kill him most of the times.


Doublejump with slideglide
______
I don't know how  else I should  call this, but  it doesn't matter,  I will use
this name now in the FAQ and  because it sounds so stupid  you will remember it
even better. The human brain often works in mysterious ways.
You use this move  to jump wide  distances while  the roll jump  will shoot you
over your aim, maybe even catapulting you  into an abyss. Or if you have to get
higher while making it across a long distance jump.
So here is the explanation:
At first you perform  a doublejump by pressing  X twice, just  like I explained
above and then,  once you think  you reached the  peak of your jump  press O to
start an Spinattack and slide glide while doing that.
The same thing can be done after a single  jump but then it is quite useless in
my humble opinion.

#################


Fistpunch
______
The fistpunch is one of Jaks default attacks.
To perform the fist punch just press [].  Jak first throws his fist in front of
him and then himselft after it.
You can fistpunch while walking and while standing still.


Spinattack
______
Press O to start a spinattack. This is Jaks  second default attack. Also a nice
attack, and you  can move forwards  while  doing this attack  or you can  stand
still. And the  possibility  to fall  into an abyss  is smaller  than with  the
fistpunch.
So use this attack everywhere where there are holes in the ground.
Together with the double jump you can expand this attack to the doublejump with
slide glide. Look it up in the chapter A - jumps.


Uppercut
______
Duck down with the  R1 button and  then press [].  Jak performs  an uppercut. I
only used this attack to move the wooden  pillars on sentinel beach and to kill
the spiders in  spidercave,  and nowhere else.  But I don't  want to be  hit by
this punch though.


Dive Attack
______
Jump with the X button and the press [].
Jak wil summersault and smash  down onto the ground or  onto an enemy. You also
need this attack to open the boxes with the scout flies inside.

______
To duck down press the R1 button.
If you  are  ducked  down   you  can  now  perform  a   high  jump  (X)  or  an
uppercut([]).


Crawl
______
To crawl just duck down with R1, keep it pressed and then move on with the left
analog stick.


Roll
______
To roll just press R1 while you are running.


position the camera
______
Use the right analog stick  to position the camera as  you wish. Left and right
moves the camer, up zooms in, down zooms out.


look around
______
Watch the world through Jak's goggles with the ^ button.
To actually  take  a look  around  move  the right  analog  stick  towards  the
direction you want to look.

So this is how Jak moves. But  if you thought this is  all you are wrong, there

   2  CONTROLS ON THE ZOOMER

Well, the controls on the Zoomer are just  like you would expect them to be. At
least if you have a bit of a feeling for  the game already. Use the left analog
stick to control the direction and speed up with X. And it is important to know
that you can jump a bit with the R1 button.

   3  CONTROLS ON THE FLUTFLUT
______________________________

The FlutFlut can  be controlled  in the same way  as you control  Jak. The only
difference is that you can now jump higher. And it flaps its wings after a jump
so you can stay  in the  air for longer  after a  jump and make  it over  wider
gaps.

So now you know how  to handle a hero like  Jak, now let's face  your main task
for the game, collecting power cells.
What you have to  do to find one  of these power  cells is explain  in the next
chapter which has the number 4.

Just follow the path coming from the gate  you are catapulted from and you will
just walk into the power cell. And around  here you can also find all the scout
flies.

There is a precursor door on  the backside of a mountain,  but Daxter will tell
you so in no time.
Follow this path a bit and you will reach  a blue eco vent. Load up on blue eco
and stand in front of  the door, the door  opens and you can  collect the power
cell behind.

            Climb Up The Cliff

After you  opened  the door  with the  blue eco  a cut  scene plays  and  Samos
explains the green eco to you. After this you jump over some spiky wooden posts
to the next platform and climb up there.  Once you are on top you have to cross
the abyss and there you are at the power cell.

Along the bay and a  bit farther you can  find Samos' eco harvesters.  They are
stuck full with heavy stones.  To clean them from the  stones you have to punch
onto the stones. Use [] to punch the harvesters  open. You have to open all of
them to get the power cell.

     Push The Flut Flut Egg Off The Cliff
..._________________________________________...

Follow the narrow  path along the  stone wall from  the eco harvesters.  Follow
this path until the end and you will see  the Flut Flut Egg. Punch the egg with
a few hard punches and push it off the cliff  this way. Push yourself after the
egg and the old lady will give you the power cell.

    Get The Power Cell From The Pelican
...____________________________________...

The pelican has his  nest in the middle  of the bay between  the two beaches of
sentinel beach. Once you are standing next to the pelican punch him and he will
spit out the power cell onto the land. Of  course he wants to get it back as it
seems to be very tasty to him,  so he starts flying and  chases after the power
cell. And of course you don't  want to give it to him  but keep it to yourself,
so you better run off and try to be faster  than the pelican. Use the closes of
these turning wheels as an  elevator to come close to  the cell faster. Use the
rolling jump on the main land  to move faster and be at  the energy cell before
the pelican.

But fear not, there is an easier way to  do this mission. But for this you have
to open the blue eco vents  in the forbidden jungle before.  Then you can shoot
yourself up to the cannon  tower on sentinel  beach and shoot  the pelican with
the cannon. Once the  pelican is gone you  can get the energy  cell without any
running or other troublesome annoyances.

           Chase The Seagulls
...___________________________________...

On the sentinel  on  the left  are seagulls.  Chase  them and  they fly  to the
sentinel in the middle.  Chase them again  and they fly to the  sentinel on the
right. Chase them  once more  and someone  will blow up  the mountain  and free
another easy energy cell.

     Launch Up To The Cannon Tower
...___________________________________...

You can clear  this task only  once you opened  the main  blue eco vent  in the
forbidden jungle.  Then the blue  eco is flowing  to the vents that  are on the
beach opposite  of the beach  you enter  this area.  From there  you can  shoot
yourself from  blue  platform  to blue platform  until  you  are at the  cannon
tower.

          Explore the Beach

On the part of the beach where the bombs come down, right next to the locked up
boxes there is a path leading away. A sandmonster  is waiting for you there and
behind the monster is the energy cell.

At the farthest  end of sentinel  beach is the sentinel  you have  to climb for
this powercell. Well, yeah, that's it, climb  this statue and collect the power
cell.

The mayor lives inside the first house after  the bridge you come over when you
are coming from  sentinel  beach, your  uncle lives  in the  house next  to the
mayor.
And then give every  inhabitant  of the village  the number of orbs  he demands
from you.

Finding the oracle is a bit harder though.
Diagonal across the house in which the farmer lives there is a rock growing out
of the beach. On top of this rock is the scout fly 2.
And in the direction  of the  open sea there  are more rock  plateaus.  You can
reach# the first of them with a normal double jump, but for the second platform
you need the rolljump.
Then continue to the left, don't forget  the scoutfly 3 and there we are at the
oracle.

When you are walking towards the forbidden  jungle you pass by the house of the
farmer. If you talk  to him he will  give you this  task. And inside  his house
there is the scoutfly 1.
The 5 Yakows  are  really close.  Aim  a good  punch onto  them  and kick  some
aliencow butt and heard them into the pen where they belong.

You have to climb over the Eco Machine and destroy the mirror at the end of the
machine. After this  the eco beams appear.  You have to use  them one after the
other with the O button and then aim it onto the next eco beam.

       Beam 1
This beam is  located directly  behind  the eco  machine and  appears once  you
destroyed the mirror.

       Beam 2
Is near to the  path from  the first  hanging bridge  straight  on. (The  scout
fly 1 is close)

       Beam 3
Next to the temple from beam 2 over the river.

       Beam 4
On the hill above the fisherman.

       Beam 5
On the beach on the way to sandovervillage.

       Get to the top of the Temple

At first you have to  open the gate to the  temple, you do this  by standing on
the blue eco vent on the other side of the  temple door and then running to the
door. After this a bridge with  some holes appears. So  cross it really fast as
long as you are still loaded  up with blue eco and so  the temple door opens up
for you.
So once you are inside you  have to load up on blue eco  all the time and climb
up. Within the  temple you  can find  a scout fly  which is  quite obvious  and
another one which is  a bit outside. Check  in the corresponding  chapter Scout
Flies - Forbidden Jungle. So once you reached the top of the temple we continue
to the next task inside the temple, so don't jump off the temple by now.

        Find the Blue Vent Switch

On the top of the temple you can find a mechanism that lets you drive down into
the insnides of the temple. Once you are down there just follow the way and you
can grab another power cell. This opens up all blue eco vents.
So you can shoot yourself up to the cannon tower on sentinel beach now!

you will find the  fisherman in  the canyon below  the temple. He  explains his
minigame to you in which you have to catch 200 pounds of fish. The game happens
in 3 stages.

       Stage 1
There are big, small  and poison fishes. You have  to catch the  big and small
fishes but avoid the poison fishes and don't let too many fishes slip by.

       Stage 2
There are only poison fishes and you have to avoid them.

       Stage 3
Again all kind of fishes appear and you have to catch them.

Once you made it you earn another power cell from the fisherman and you are now
allowed to use his speedboat  to get to misty island.  You can find his boat in
sandover village.

      Follow the Canyon to the Sea

Again another easy power cell.  Get into the canyon where  the fisherman is and
follow the canyon. There where the 3 blue  eco thingys are hovering around with
nothing else to do you  can jump through  a hole in the wall  and there you can
already find the power cell.

      Open the locked Temple Door

On the backside  of the actual temple  entrace is  the locked temple  door that
only opens up if  you are loaded  up with blue eco.  You have 3  options to get
blue eco:
As long as you haven't destroyed  the mirror on top of  the eco machine you can
use the blue eco on top of  the eco machine. Or you collect  the 3 blue ecos in
the canyon and shoot  yourself up  with the blue  jump platform  and run to the
temple door afterwards.  Or you enter the  temple and load up  with blue eco in
there and then just  jump out of  the temple on  mid height towards  the temple
door.

                 Misty Island
**************************************

To get onto misty  island you first  have to catch  200 pounds of  fish for the
fisherman  in  the forbidden   jungle,   so  that  he allows   you  to use  his
speedboat.

Once you managed  to complete  this task you  go back to  sandover village  and
between the house of  your uncle and the  house the mayor is  a path, which you
should take.
There you will find  the fisherman's  friend, nah,  speedboat waiting  for you.
Press the O button to use it (when you are standing on it of course).

As soon as you are misty island you have a lot to do, which is the following:

-    Catch The Sculptor's Muse
-    Climb the Lurker Ship
-    Stop the Cannon
-    Return to the Dark Eco Pool
-    Destroy the Balloon Lurkers
-    Use the Zoomer to reach the Power Cell
-    Use Blue Eco to reach the Power Cell
-    Free the 7 Scout Flies

Before we start with the solutions  to the missions on  misty islad I just want
to say something  about the locations  here, so  that you understand  what I am
saying (or writing):
You enter misty island  on a footbridge,  from there you only  have one way you
can go, then you have to climb up a bit, climb over 2-3 ledges and then the way
parts, quite exactly  where the sculptors's  muse is, this is  the yellow brown
animal like creature that always runs away once you come close to it.
The area to the right of the muse is now called cliffs.
The area to the left of the muse is now called harbor.
Alright, here we go:

      Catch The Sculptor's Muse

If you walk up  to the muse  quite normal  the muse always  runs away  from you
counterclockwise.  There  is a  really long  circuit  where  it will run  along
available for it. The muse never leaves this circuit, it only changes direction
if you approach it from the other side.
So, what do you do now?
Do this: Force the  muse to the  place where you  first saw it,  this is at the
bottom of the huge mountain right in the middle of misty island.
Then you chase after the muse with some  rolljumps, because only rolljumps give
you the speed you need.
Once you catch up to the muse,  you finally catch it by  punching it, best done
by pressing the [_] button.
It is not mandatory  to start at the foot  of the mountain but  there is a long
stright way on which you can easily do lots  of consecutive rolljumps without a
single turn in it.
Once you finally  really  caught  the muse  you have  to bring  it back  to the
sculptor in sandover villar  to finally really get your  desired power cell. He
lives in the last house before the sentinel beach.

         Climb the Lurker Ship

This task is no task at all but more a joke.
Inside the harbor you have to walk over  the wooden bridge until you are on the
ship that is  in the water  there. And  on the ship  you will  find the  energy
cell.
Well, but from there you can continue to the next task:

           Stop the Cannon

You now climb completely onto  the ship from the previous  'task' and walk up a
wooden ramp. Avoid the treetrunks,  there are always 2  rolling ones and then a
jumping one.
On the way up  there are some  platforms along  the way  where you can  pause a
bit.
There are some  HUGE green ecos  trapped insode  the boxes  there and  also the
scout fly 3. Once you reached the top and got the energy cell you cen either go
back into the harbour or you go directly in the opposite direction, and this is
what I recommend.  Turn around  and jump onto  the big round  open space.  This
leads directly to the next mission, surviving an ambush.
But before jumping down there  you should use the cannon  you are standing next
to. Press O when  standing next  to the cannon to  use it, then  shoot into the
round place onto all the locked boxes to get the orbs that are inside.
Only after you opened/destroyed  all the  boxes  you should jump  down into the
lurker ambush.

       Return to the Dark Eco Pool
..._____________________________________...

Collect some blue exo at the end of the  cliffs and go through the door or jump
directly into the  place from the  powercell at  the cannon. You  will enter an
AMBUSH!!!
Well, collect a lot of red eco and hammer onto your O button. Once you defeated
all the enemie walk up the  stairs and jump into the pool.  Or better, grab the
power cell.

      Destroy the Balloon Lurkers

At the other end of  the harbor you can  find a zoomer waiting  for you. Get it
and let's get ready to rumble!
This time it is a good idea  to actually listen to Daxter  and only destroy the
lurkers and not their bombs that are attached  to the underside of their ships.
Because this can  become dangerous.  After destroying  all 6 lurkers  the power
cell will appear inside the lurker ship (famous from one of the previous energy
cells).
So by now you better  stay on the zoomer,  the next power cell  is not far from
you.

         Use the Zoomer to reach the Power Cell

Behind the lurker ship a ramp rises from the water, drive up this ramp. You can
also find the scoutfly 4 here. Well then, take a turn and with full speed drive
towards the power cell.  If your speed is  not enough you can  use R1 to jump a
bit with the  zoomer. Then  you should   reach the  power cell  without further
problems.

          Use Blue Eco to reach the Power Cell

Get to the cliffs. There are  3 blue ecos hovering around.  Get it and then get
towards the spitting creature  in the swamp. Pass this  and get to the last end
of the cliffs. There is one  last lurker, get rid of the  lurker and of you are
still loaded up with blue eco a platform  will start moving. This platform will
bring you directly to the last power cell on misty island.

In Rock Village  the first thing  you do is  entering the  hut of the  Blue Eco
Sage. Activate the switch  in front of the  warp gate there  by stepping on it.
After this talk to Samos,  the Green Eco  Sage and he will give  you a task for
the precursor basin (healing the plants).
And talk to all other people you meet here too, even though they only want Orbs
from you.

Talk to the people more  than once, they  will give you more  missions in other
locations like the precursor basin or the  swamp. Only the oracle shits out its
power cell and talks stupid gibberish.

The Precursor Basin can be divided into 3 areas:
The entry with the arch,  from there you  can enter the area  with the doughnut
shaped hill and the race track.
You can enter the race track only from the  first area and you can't get off of
the track. The other two areas have 2 connections.


-    Herd the Moles into their Hole
-    Catch the Flying Lurkers
-    Beat Record Time on the Gorge
-    Get the Power Cell over the Lake
-    Cure the Dark Eco infected Plants

You get this task from the geologist in Rock Village.
Right at the beginning of the  Precursor Basin, at the  entry area there is the
mole hole, and the moles are also around  it. Just get behind all the moles and
scare them back into their hole. This is pretty straight foreward.

            Catch the Flying Lurkers
...____________________________________________...

There are 4 flying lurkers at all around the Precursor Basin. Crash into all of
them and you will get your desired power cell. The like to drive in wide turns,
so you can cut  off their  path and  catch them.  So, where  do you find  these
Flying Lurkers?

2 of them are around at the  doughnut shaped hill, one  of these is quite close
to the poison plant, the other one is around the power cell over the lake.

2 more of them are in the entry  area. One of these is  close to the mole hole,
while the other one is over and under the entry arch.

          Beat Record Time on the Gorge
...____________________________________________...

To obtain this power cell you have to race on the gorge race track and beat the
record time that is set by someone else.

If you enter the Precursor Basin for the first time the race track is under the
arch and then right.
Practice a lot and make good  use of the blue eco. But  not all of the blue eco
is helpful! For example on  the higher places. Until you  got this blue eco you
are faster when driving the normal track.
So, as I already said, practice a lot!


!!! !ATTENTION! !!!

If you didn't  get a  new record  on the  gorge race  track  DON'T talk  to the
gambler again until  you made it  and got the record  and with that  earned the
power cell. This is  because if you talk  to the gambler without  setting a new
record you can never race on this race track any more (with this save file).
This is a bug in the  game, and it saves  onto your savefiles,  and so you will
never get all power cells.
Once you made it and got the record time  you have to talk to the gambler again
to get the power cell.

!!! !ATTENTION! !!!

        Get the Power Cell over the Lake
...____________________________________________...

This is not that easy.  Well, yes it is,  if you know how. Drive  you Zoomer up
the doughnutshaped hill and  a bit further. Jump over  2 gaps and you will land
next to the scoutfly  4. Drive to  the right and  up the hill and  after a 180°
turn you reach a box  with dark eco inside.  Use R2 to see if  you still have 2
parts of your lifebar, if yes, then ram into it and you've cleared the way.
Now drive over the edge of the gap really  fast and try to touch the next peak,
don't even try to stop  there, but head  on to the next peak  and one more peak
until you are at a turn to the left.
Here you stop, get the scout fly 5 and turn  your Zoomer around. Now race along
the narrow cliff  really fast  and jump at  the end (with  R1) and aim  for the
power cell!

         Cure the Dark Eco infected Plants
..._______________________________________________...

Right behind the  doughnutshaped  hill are some  dark plants. You  have to heal
them, or make them go away.
Drive through the Green Eco Vent and load  up on Green Eco. If you now touch an
infected plant it will sink into the ground.
Now you have to make all plants disappear.
It is best to do this with a plan, slowly  drive over a row of plants, then the
next row and once  you run out of  Green Eco get  some more. You  won't make it
with only one charge anyways.

      Navigate the purple Precursor Rings
...____________________________________________...

The first ring is a  bit above the the mole  hole, in the entry  area. Once you
touched this ring more rings will appear. You have to touch the other rings too
of course.
There are 26 rings to collect at all.
To reach ring 23  and ring 26 you  have to jump  (R1), but this  shouldn't be a
problem.

        Navigate the blue Precursor Rings

This is the same task as before, only the rings have a different color
And there is less time.  And it is harder.  And there is one  more ring at all.
And... well, completely the same...
The first ring is a bit more hidden now,  it is close to the scout fly 4. Drive
up the doughnutshaped hill and a bit farther, 2 jumps over the gaps and´then to
the left behind the stonewall.
This time there is less time for you to collect each ring and there 27 rings at
all. To get ring 7 you have to use the stone in front of it as a jump ramp (and
press R1 while going  over it), ring 10  is directly next to  the beginning, so
watch out, don't drive over  the engery portal, otherwise  Jak will get off the
Zoomer and you won't  make it to  any other ring  because your time  is running
out way too fast. For  ring 11 don't jump!  And for the last,  ring 27 you have
to jump again, but therefor you have to reach up to ring number 27!

Here are 4 Scout Flys hidden. You can get  2 of them at the 3 colorful chambers
by releasing the corresponding  chamber and then watch  out where the scout fly
gets beamed to. Then use a rotator to get there.
There is also a power cell in once of the chambers, use the contraption to make
it appear somewhere, make you way through  the obstacle course and grab it. The
obstacle course  is doable, you  won't make it the  first time,  but have faith
and trust in your skills  and memorise how  the different obstacles  behave and
get a feeling for it and you will do it.

At the end you will get the power cell

Aa the name implies a lot of pathes cross  here or they part. At first take the
right path.

___Riddle Room

At first you have to fight your way over the moving bridge with the hot tube in
the middle. After this you will reach the only riddle in the game. Your task is
to light up all plattforms by jumping on  them and in the end standing in front
of the door.
But at first kill the lurker  around here because otherwise  this thing is just
annoying.
And now you have to have a plan of what you are doing, but before a small hint,
which is, use the double  jump and afterwards  the sliding flight  to reach the
further platforms or take another path.
The best thing to do  is starting in the  front row middle and  via 2 platforms
reach the platform at the front  left edge. From here  jump 2 plattforms to the
left back. Now cross  the whole field diagonally  via 4 platforms  to the front
right edge. Now  use 2 platforms  to reach the one  in the back  right and from
here you reach the back middle platform with 2 jumps and you are right in front
of the door you want to be.
It is important to be standing in front  of the hidden door in the end, because
this door now opens and if  you've done everything right  you will now get your
well earned power cell which is called:

After this you can get back to the crossing with the vortex

Start the mechanism and some  bridges appear. Always use  a double jump and you

Here you kill all the lurkers inside at  first so that they are not as annoying
as hell as they are when they are there.
Then you load up on blue eco and touch all the 5 energy balls at once while you
are charged with one load of blue eco. It  doesn't work if you reload with blue
eco, you have to do it with one load of  blue eco. After this the door opens to
the

___Chamber
Release the chamber by jumping on the mechanism inside the chamber. The chamber
rises after this and a power cell appears  above the chamber. It IS possible to
reach the power cell  from the outside from  the island. Use  a doublejump with
slideflight for this, but is  is way more easy to just  drown the chamber again
by using the mechanism again and then just collect the power cell from the roof
of the chamber. You  have to dive down again  anyways. If you  want to complete
the Lost Precursor City that is.

       Raise the Chamber

Once you got the power cell you can go on to

___tooooooo long hallway
The hallway is just too freaking long, but it is possible to find a way through
it without losing a single piece of health.
For both variations you start jumping while  the energy field that hurts you is
still on:
One way is to use the rolling jump while  the engery field is still on and then
just hurry up and run on.
Or you use a doublejump  while  the energy  field is still  on and land  in the
water (it is best  to do this while  the energy  field is off) and  use another
double jump to get out of the water and then use another slideflight additional
to that.

You need a lot of skill  for this slide  and also practise a  lot to master it.

       Reach the Bottom of the City

After you got this power cell the level of the dark eco down here at the bottom
auf the lost precursor  city starts  to rise. Now  you have to be  really fast,
load up on masses  of this dark  eco and run  for all you  got. Don't  miss the
lurkers around  here, blue eco  doesn't make  you invincible.  Once the  way up
doesn't go on you have to jump into the middle and then up.

Once you got this power cell too you will enter the stairs room.
If you think you've  got what it  takes just slide  down slide 1  and enter the
chamber. This will bring you back to the surface without a hassle.

Here we do the same  as with the  first tether.  But this tether  is behind the
many woodplanks where Jak has to jump per salto from one to another.
The rock on which the tether  is attached is in the middle  of the path, not at
the end of the path.  You will notice  you are right  when you are  at a wooden
scaffolding that is there right after another wooden scaffolding which you pass
on you way for sure.

      3rd Tether to the Zeppelin
...________________________________...

You reach  a wooden  wall with  4 boxes  filled  with  dark eco  on top.  After
climbing over  this wall you  reach a blue  platform. Load  up on blue  Eco and
position yourself on  the blue platform.  Now jump and you will  get catapulted
into an otherwise unreachable part of the game.
Here you can find  the 3rd stone  with the  3rd tether of  the zeppelin  on it.
Shoot on the stone with yellow Eco and the  rope will fall off and you will get
another power cell.

Shortly before the  wooden wall  there is another  blue platform,  but this one
brings you to  the lurker ambush,  but this  is handled  in this FAQ exactly  2
points under this one here.

      4th Tether to the Zeppelin

Well, the order of these numbers here is not quite how it should be, but I just
thought that the 4 tethers should be all together.
In the correct order in which you reach  all the tasks within the game this 4th
tether can only be reached  after you passed the passed  out drunk Farthy. Here
you will meet another stone on a wooden  scaffolding (*yawn*) and have to shoot
it. And now you unlocked the 4th tether of the zeppelin (*yay*).

          Defeat the Lurker Ambush

Look a bit above this point under:

  Break the 3rd Tether to the Zeppelin

There you will find the explanation where  the blue platform is. Shortly before
the wooden wall  with the 4  boxed filled  with dark eco  on it is a huge  rock
right in  your way.  Shoot  it with  yellow  eco.  This  should  free the  blue
platform.  Now find  some blue  eco and  load up with  it, then  step  onto the
platform and jump from there.
You will reach an otherwise  unreachable area of the swamp.  And there you will
get attacked in now time :(
But hey, defend yourself and fight =)... So, shoot a lot, load up on yellow eco
a lot and smash the  O button on your controller  to keep the  lurkers and rats
away from you.
Then this will work out.

        Ride the Flut Flut

Once you reach  the Flut Flut  get onto it  like you get  onto the Zoomer.  The
controls are similar to the controls of Jak. Once I managed to get the controls
chapter up here  I will link there,  or just read  in your foldable  manual map
thingy.
So once you got  the hang of  it don't forget  the scout  fly 5 and then  let's
get onto the wooden construction.
Don't fall down  and then jump all  around in a  circle and you  will reach the
well desired power cell.

This task is quite similar to the fishing in the forbidden jungle. So this is a
minigame. You have to shoot all rats.
The rats come at you in 3 levels,
level one are just a few rats,
the second level has some more rats,
and the third level has the most,
but you will  make it through  there,  as I can't  really help  you there  as I
don't know where these rats appear on your  screen. Good aim is a good skill to
have here.
So if you made it and made it good Farthy will award you with yet another power
cell.

       Find the hidden Power Cell

If you are here for the first time you cannot get this power cell.
At first you have  to enter  the snowy mountain  area and  open the yellow  eco
vents. Then you can  get into the mountain  pass again and roll  things up from
behind.
So, drive out of  the cave, you  will reach the  wide open area  after the wide
jump over the even wider gap.
Now the yellow eco vent is open and you can charge up with yellow eco.
In your normal driving direction  (towards volcano crater)  on the right of the
wide open field there is a part of the wall  that is not as grey as the rest of
the wall. It is  more yellow brown.  So shoot this  part of the  wall and drive
through. Jump over the gap and you are right there at the hidden power cell.

Now you can jump right into  a hole or drive into the  dynamite and you restart
at the vulcano crater.
Of course you can drive back to improve  your Zoomer skillz, but killing Jak is
faster.

So, this is the reason why you are reding this FAQ?! But it is not that easy to
get this hidden power cell.
Use one of the lorrys and drive to the entrance to the spider cave and jump off
there. Turn around and look up. Up there  the box with the hidden power cell is
hidden.
But you cannot  reach this cell,  you have  to shoot it.  And you do this  like
that:
Get down into the spider  cave. Search for  the yellow eco vent  to the left of
the entrance  of the  cave (when  entering).  Load  up with  the eco and  start
running! Use a lot of rolljumps towards  the exit, jump up the stairs and don't
fall down. Once you are up on top of the  stairs just shoot straight ahead, you
will hit the box then, you don't have to switch to the goggles view.
Make sure to get onto every step directly,  if you have to hang onto a step and
pull yourself  up you  don't have  enough  yellow  eco left,  or at least  it's
getting really really close!

This is located  within the mountain  to the right  of the fort.  Find a way in
through the snowed in fir trees.
The camera angle sucks badly inside here,  but this is what the game gives you,
probably to make it a bit harder, but you  can fight back. Just watch the whole
scene through  your goggles  with the  ^ button  and plan your  next jump.  But
timing is also important here.

Stop the 3 Lurker Glacier Troops
To stop the powerful glacier troops you should load up on red eco before facing
them.
You can find the glacier troops on the following places on snowy mountain:

To the right of the fort and then up to  the ice lake. Then get behind the lake
and get to the hanging bridge towards the Flut Flut.

Below the gate of the fort. Jump into the  ditch and then head on to the right,
even though there is an abyss.

    Deactivate the Precursor Blockers

the Precursor Blockers  are the  small pillars with  the energy  shield around,
which always kicks you back once you jump into it. To turn them off you have to
jump onto them from the top and land directly on the pillar. The pillar will go
down a bit and there you are, the Precursor Blocker is deactivated.

Search for the Flut Flut. To  the right of the fort is  an icy slope leading up
to a frozen lake. Behind the lake is a glacier  lurker and behind this guy is a
hanging bridge. Behind this bridge the Flut Flut is waiting for you.
Use the Flut Flut now  and jump over 3 huge  deep gaps and at  the end you will
get a power cell.

        Get through the Lurker Fort

To get into the lurkerfort  you have to clear the task  above, opening the gate
to the lurker  fort. Because  if the  gat is closed  you can't  get in.  It's a
simple as that.
Once you are inside climb up the tower in  the middle and look for a way to the
front right  edge.   From  there  you  have   to go  around   the  fort counter
clockwise.
Of course you can take a shotcut,  just use a rolljump  from the tower to about
half of the way around the fort.
There you have to activate  the tree trunk. This thing  always goes up and down
and makes it easy for you to get back on track after only half the way.
And don't forget the two scout  flies. One is right on  top of the tower in the
middle and the other one is on top of the main building of the fort.

         Survive the Lurker infested Cave

From EcoBlocker number 13 you can reach a cave. Load up on red eco on a red eco
vent and then storm the cave and hammer  on the O button while doing so. If you
run out of red eco you can reload of course.

You need yellow eco for this power cell.  So grab the first powercell from this
chapter before even reding on...
Get into the frozen hallway. This is the  hallway that is in a 90° angle to the
path of the rolling snowballs.
Then load up on yellow eco, which is only  present if you opened the yellow eco
vent from power cell number uno in this chapter, and then shoot on the box that
is halfways frozen in the ice,  under the ice, inside  the ice, whatever, shoot
it. Voila, there is your power cell.

Well, you have to hit the lurkers too of course.
Actually you have to  hit each of these  gnawing lurkers twice  before they die
and the hit  counts. At  first they  drop orbs,  the last one  drops the  power
cell.
In the entry cave, where the  gnawing lurkers are there  are 3 yellow eco vents
at all.

         Destroy the Dark Eco Crystals
..._________________________________________...

There are 4 different dark  eco crystals hidden in the  spider cave. To destroy
such a dark eco  crystal you  have to wither  shoot it with  yellow eco  or you
touch it. If you touch  it you start a countdown  and the crystal  will explode
afterwards, so you better run away fast.
You can find the dark eco crystals at the the following locations:

       Dark Eco-Crystal 1
On the ceiling  of the entry  cave. You can  get to it via  the platforms  that
hover around up  there or you  just shoot  it just like  you shoot the  gnawing
lurkers.

       Dark Eco-Crystal 2
On the way from  the entry cave  to the contruction  site  you have to  cross a
dark eco lake. There are 2 spidernets in the lake on which you can jump. On the
side of all this you can find another dark eco crystal.

       Dark Eco-Crystal 3
High up in the entry  cave a little  to the left  of the actual  entry you will
find a way to  another dark  eco lake.  You take  the same route  when you  are
searching  for the  dark  cave with  all   the glowing  crystals.  There  are 4
platforms floating on the lake. From the entry cave you go into the cave on the
right. Here you find the scout fly 3. Behind  the scout fly is another dark eco
lake. Use a rolling jump to cross it and  then dive deep into the water behind.
Down here hides the third dark eco crystal.

       Dark Eco-Crystal 4
Close to the dark  eco crystal 3  is dark eco crystal  4. Enter  the dark cave,
you know, the cave with the glowing crystals and search for the glowing crystal
4. Next to it is a water pond. Dive into  the pond and destroy the 4th dark eco
crystal.

           Explore the Dark Cave

High up in the entry  cave a little  to the left  of the actual  entry you will
find another dark eco lake, some dark eco crystals and the dark cave.
Punch every crystal  you find and it will  start to glow. Now  you can go on to
the next and punch it too.
If you are waiting  in front of  a elevator platform  punch the  crystal again,
otherwise you will end up in darkness.

            Climb the Giant Robot

On the  construction  site   you have  to  find a  way  up  to the  top  of the
scaffolding. Once you  are up at the power  cell take a look  down to the right
and you can see the scout fly 6.
And I found  a small  shortcut  so that  you  don't have  to climb  up ALL  the
way:
From the entry to the  construction site  you take a walk to  the right, to the
farthest corner, there is an  elevator going up and down.  You can jump over to
the elevator with a timed rolljump and save some time.

           Launch up to the Poles

Go to the back left  corner of the contruction  site. There  you can load up on
blue eco and then jump down into the darkness to the blue platform.
There is also an elevator  platform going  down here, but this  is too slow and
you have no more blue eco left  once you are down and  can't superjump from the
blue platform on the ground.
So you made the jump and were lucky enough  to hang on one of the poles now and
swing around it now. Jump off  from the pole at the moment  when Jak's feet are
on top and grab onto another pole above. Collect the 3 blue ecos and then swing
on towards the  exit if the  cave. There  is  the power cell  you are searching
for.

       Navigate through the Spider Tunnel

So you have to find your way through the spider tunnel in this task.
If you come down the wooden footway don't  go towards the construction site but
turn around and get back where you just  came from but on the lower ground. You
have to jump over 3 spidernets into a cave, and this is the spidertunnel.
Run through here as fast as you can and  grab the power cell at the end and the
get out really quick. Do so by grabbing  the blue eco and then jump out via the
blue platform.

        Climb the Precursor Platforms

Find a way up to the top in the entry cave,  this is the first cave you step in
and not  the one  with the  scaffolding.   Up there  you  can see  hundreds  of
platforms that all move somewhere somehow.  And you have to get into the middle
of the room via these platforms  somehow now. Here a platform  goes up and down
all the time. With this platform you can  reach a small solid platform on which
the power cell is waiting for you.
From here you can also destroy the first dark eco crystal!

In this chapter  I will explain  everything as you  go along, just  like in the
part for the Lost Precursor City.


Right to the right of the entrance you can  find the Scoutfly 1, pick it up and
then jump onto the firt rotating disc.
Jump to the right from the disc. There you  can already see the scout fly 2. To
get it you have to jump off to the left  from the rotating disc that looks like
a deformed 8.

       * Free the Red Eco Sage *

From the  Scoutfly  2 you get  back  on  the rotating  disc that  looks  like a
deformed 8 and go on to the  third, last possible direction,  where you haven't
been yet. You will reach a switch, so please  activate it. An instable U-Formed
bridge appears.
If you jump on a block  of a destinct color  all blocks of the  same color will
fall down into the endless  depths here  without you ever touching  them. So be
fast and jump on, maybe delay your landing  by pressing the O button and please
make it to the end of the bridge.
Now enter the door and then attack in and  destroy the 3 lurker generators with
punches. Now continue over three tricky  rotating plattforms to the next lurker
generator. Destroy this generator too and you freed the Red Eco Sage.

      * Free the Yellow Eco Sage *

From the rotating disc  at the entrance  go to the left this  time. Even before
(!!!) the next crumbling  bridge  go to the left  to 2 rotating  discs that are
turning there.
You will enter a bluish glowing hallway and find the Scoutfly 4 there.
Then, in the next room,  load up on blue  Eco and at first open  then precursor
orb hideout next to  the door. After this  and after you got  ALL the Precursor
Orbs you load  up on  blue eco  again and  super jump  after  super jump  after
superjump.
Take care not to try to make it over the  long distance while you are no longer
full with blue  eco. Charge  up before,  blue eco  is everywhere  around  to be
found.
At the end you  can uncover  another Orb hideout.  Most  of the time you  won't
make it to the hideout  while you are still  loaded up on blue  eco. Don't even
try, instead just go through  the door here and get your  blue eco from here on
the outside.
There also is another generator, once you  destroyed this one you already freed
the Yellow Eco Sage.
Before going down again go to the right  and over three rotating discs you will
reach the scoutfly 5.

Now this is where it gets interesting.
Exit the rotating disc right  at the entrance to the left.  Cross the crombling
bridge. Now you take the first crumbling bridge to the left and enter the door.
And here the horror starts... at least for me it was the horror!
Via two floating platforms you reach a rotating cube.
As you land on the cube you  stand still, don't turn to  the left, this is what
the cube will do for you. After the cube  turned to the left once you can start
running and jumping.
And now there  comes the tricky  part. While  the platform  moves forwards  you
start running and once it stopped moving you jump.
If you did it right  you are now grabbing  onto a rotating cube.  Wait until it
turned 180° around and then losen your grip. Don't pull up on the cube!
And now continue  to  the doughnut  rotating  disc.  Now there  are two  tricky
parts.
Use a double jump with  slide glide to hover  to the next floating  platform on
the right. Once you made it  savely to this platform go  on. Use a rolling jump
to jump to soild ground.
Here you load  up on blue  eco and really  fast  you jump to  the rising  drunk
platform. If you are not fast  enough you won't make it  to the top or you miss
the platform or something else as stupid.
Once you arrived up  here pick up the scout  fly 6. Now continue  to the moving
platform. As soon as  you are under the  fireray start running  and jump to the
next platform. Do this at both fire vaults.
Now destroy the generator next to the Blue Eco Sage and free him with this. Now
grab the blue  Eco and  get back  one door  and collect  the  last few  orbs in
there.

Now Daxter will tell you, to use the platforms, so just do it!
From the last platfrom you take a look at  the three rotating discs in front of
you. They are located one over the other  and you have to get on top of the top
one and then to the right through a hole in the wall.
So think about what  you will be  doing now and  then start climbing  up. If it
doesn't work out  most of the  time you land  on the lowest  disc though.  Jump
back to the platform  from there to get  an overview, don't  try to get up from
the lowest rotating disc to the top in panic!
Once you are on top turn around. Now you have to climb up over the moving arms,
higher and higher.
But after you made it and freed  the Blue Eco Sage this  should only be a minor
problem for you now! Once you made it to  the middle up here grab the scout fly
7 and free Samos, the Green Eco Sage.

       Power Cell:
                      Defeat the Dark Eco Plant

There is not all  that much to do  here, watch out  so that the  spikey lurkers
don't come too close to you.  So position yourself in  one of the edges outside
of the circle on the ground and jump to  the other edge once they get to close.
Of course these stupid spikey beasts follow  you but fear not, there is hope on
the horizon. Once enough time  has passed they remove  their spikes and you can
kill them off. If their spikes are still  visible it is very dangerous to touch
them, even when attacking them.
Once you killed all the spikey  lurkers the plant holds  up her head/flower and
you can climb up over  the leaves until  you are in front of  the head and then
punch the head.
After three  runs  of  boxing,   spikey  lurkers,  boxing,   etc  the plant  is
finished.

After you defeated the plant  don't forget to jump on  her head until she won't
spit out any more orbs.

                   Defeat Klaww

The first thing you have to do is avoid the stones that Klaww throws at you. He
throws roughly 12-16 stones at you.
So jump from platform to platform and avoid getting hit.

Once he is fed  up with throwing  stones he  dives down  and therefor  blue eco
appears, and of course on one of the 2 other  platforms on which you are not at
the moment.
Get the blue eco and a really crumbling bridge appears.
Thank code this is just a videogame.  The bridge looks  as if it would collapse
more sooner than later, but hey, no risc, no fun, here we go!

Now run to  the front  row  where the  yellow  eco is  and grab  it. Don't  get
confuzzled or hit by the stones that come against you.
Once you loaded  up on yellow  eco you can  shoot at Klaww.  Shoot at  him like
crazy until he  throws a really  huge rock.   If he does  you have to backtrack
immediately to the  stone platforms  at the beginning  of the lava  sea because
otherwise the stone rolls all over you.

Now you have to  dodge the stones  again until  the blue  eco appears  or Klaww
disappears.

The second time  you are on the  bridge you will  see that the bridge  has some
holes. So watch  out and don't fall  into one of  the holes on your  way to the
front. Then shoot at Klaww again until he throws this huge rock.

And back to start. Avoid the stones, collect blue eco and then:
The third time around the bridge has even more holes, this makes getting to the
front even harder.
So grab the yellow eco and shoot like there is no tomorrow.
After you've been  to the front  the third  time you will  have to flee  to the
back once more and then this is the end of KLAWW.

Oh, and don't drop into the lava!!!

After you you made it to Samos the Green  Eco Sage and he is free an door opens
up and you can enter an even bigger room.
Here you have to stomp onto  the huge button in the ground  and the ground will
move up.
Then you can charge  up with blue eco and  use a floating platform  to drive to
the Dark Eco Silo.
And then the final fight starts, let's get ready for the

       1st Round - LASER

So nothing all that spectacular happens  at first. The robot just tries to open
up the Dark Eco Silo with the laser.
So grab the yellow Eco and shoot onto the robot:

 5 hits to the eye of the robot.

Now the robot plants a bomb aabove the platform.  So grab the blue eco and jump
high up into the air via the blue platform. Just straight up into the air, that
should do the trick.
Make sure you come down  back on the platform  and not somewhere  next to it in
the nothing and also not in the Dark Eco.

       2nd Round - SPIKEY BEASTS

Now the Dar Eco Silo is opened a bit more.
The robot unleashes 3 spikey beats onto you. Get as much yellow Eco as possible
and shoot these lurker beasts.  Run a lot and run fast.  You have to kill about
10-12 spikey lurkers then you can grab the  blue eco again and jump up into the
air.

       3rd Round - LAVABALLS

Now the gap has become even bigger.

The robot now shoots lavaballs at you, either 3 or 4 at a time. These lavaballs
explode in really unpredictable time intervals and also have a blast after them
that will hurt you if it hits you.
But you can trick the blast with a doublejump  and then turn to the slide glide
flight and delay your comedown and also direct your movement while gliding.
Most of the time 2 of them explode after  another, then you have a short moment
to take a breath and then the rest explodes.
At a time when  there are no  lavaballs grab  the yellow  eco and shoot  at the
robot. You have to hit teh robot 5 times.
And please  note:  Once  you hit  the robot  5 times  he  won't  shoot any  new
lavaballs but the old lavaballs already in the screen still explode!
After this he sends  a bomb after  you again and  you have to escape  to higher
grounds again with the blue eco.

       4th Round - THUNDERFIST

Now you need a good reaction. The fist of the robot charges up. So it is better
for you to stay  in the back  part of the  area. The fist  comes at you  really
fast. And you have  to roll out  of the way as fast  as the fist  comes at you.
It's no use to just roll to  the back, because the fist  hits you then anyways,
you have to roll away to a side.
While the robot charges  up its fist you  can land some hits  on him. After you
hit him 10 times the robot  wants you in the last round.  And you know what you
have to do in the meantime...

       5th Round - CHAOS AND MAYHEM

Now the robot shoots all over the place  like crazy. With mines!! And inbetween
a piece of white eco drops out of the clouds.
Well, staying furry or saving the world... what are you gonna do?
Well, grab the white eco and then you made it, you won Jak and Daxter.
So enjoy the end sequence, and in case you collected 100 or 101 power cells you
can even see the  secret ending.  But actually it's  totally NOT  worth it, but
for completionists it is.

(*) These 8 Orbs are very easy to miss. They come out of the box but you can't

 Spider Cave                              200 Orbs

At first hand it's all about the Orbs that are inside the big cave that you
first enter, that's why it's called entrance Cave:

6 - Around the Gnawing Lurker.
3 - Left off from the mainpath and backways up to the yellow eco.
15 - Left by the gnawing Lurkers around them after they died. (3+3+2+2+1+1+1).
4 - Left of the entrance up at the Scoutfly.
1 - right of the entrance high up between the yellow eco and the spiderweb.
4 - right of the entrance high up fro spiderweb to spiderweb.
3 - right of the entrance high up between Lurker and yellow eco.
4 - On the footbridge in front of the strange woodbuilding.
5 - floating high above the mentioned footbridge.
3 - On the way to the construction site.
6 - Inside locked boxes on the way to the constructioon site.(3+3)

72 - Precurser Orbs in the entrancecave.

Next is the dark cave. It's near to the dirst entrance to the spidercave and
the enrancecave, somewhere left of it and high above the normal entrance.
In there you have to punch cristalls to get light. Know where we are, let's
go:

3 - At the entrance.
3 - Inside boxes at the dark ecolake.
3 - Inside boxes at the dark ecolake.
2 - In the dark cave short before the Energycell.
3 - In the dark cave short past the Energycell.

Now it's time for the last big part of the spider cave, it's called the con-
structionsite. There is a huge robot standing around and a lot of scaffolding
around.

3 - At the end of the footbridge to the construction site.
18 - Around at the swingsticks in back left corner. (easier to collect with
     blue Eco.

On the scaffolding:

 second floor:

7 - Floating (3+2+1+1).
7 - A bit off the way around a rock.
23 - Inside the boxes at the branch of the scaffolding.
12 - In the edge one floor down.
13 - Inside some more boxes.

 third floor:

4 - in front and behind the flamethrower.

 fourth floor:

8 - On the Carussell.
8 - Above the trapdoors.
5 - Above the swingstick above the spikebarrel.(There are !!! 5 !!! Orbs)
3 - Swingstick - Trapdoor - Swingstick.
3 - Past the lots of swingsticks.
2 - short before the Energycell.

Spidertunnel:
The spidertunnel is best done on the way back from the constuction site. It's
located left from the footbridge you are comming on from the entrancecave.
You jump over some Spiderwebs and there you are.

All the Orbs in the Lavatube are in the first part of the level.
The first part is over, when you have to shoot at the turning energyballs.

17 - Inside boxes.
4 - Above the jump where the road seperates.
8 - On the very right side.
5 - In front of the entrance to the energyballturningenemy.

3 - Above the first Puzzlebridge.

Red Eco Sage:

5 - Above the Puzzlebridge to the red Eco Sage.
37 - In Boxes on the way to the red Eco Sage(7+8+8+7+7). This is there where
     the lots, really lots of jumping lurkers are around.
3 - On the Puzzlebridge from the Red Eco Sage.

Blue Eco Sage:

5 - Above the Puzzlebridge to the Blue Eco Sage.
9 - At the drunk Plattforms (3+3+3).
30 - Inside the Precurser Orb Container in front of the door to the blue Eco
     Sage. So, get the blue eco and get back again.

Yellow Eco Sage:

30 - Inside the Precurser Orb Container at the start of the Jumps.
5 - Above the first Precurser Plattform.
8 - at the 2. Precurser Plattform.
5 - At the 3. and 4. Precurser Plattform.
5 - At the 5. and 6. Precurser Plattform.
5 - At the 7. and 8. Precurser Plattform.
30 - Inside the Precurser Orb Container in front of the door to the yellow Eco
     Sage. So, get the blue eco and get back again.

20 - At the top of the inside citadell all around the elevator to pinnacle.

FAQ means frequently  asked  questions  and this  is what this  chapter  is all
about. All the questions that often come up regarding the game will be answered
here as good as possible.

Question:
I can't reach this and that with a normal jump. It is way too far away!

Answer:
At first, this ain't no question but a shout! And second:
Use the rolljump or the double jump with slideglide.

Rolljump: While  walking  press R1 to  roll and  while rolling  press X  to get
catapultet ahead.

Double jump with slide glide: Press X twice and while you are coming down again
press O to delay your coming down.

Question:
Can I get something else for my hardly collected Precursor Orbs than only these
power cells that I can find all over the game anyways?

Answer:
No!

Question:
What happens once I collected all 2000 Precurser Orbs?

Answer:
Nothign spectacular!
But it counts towards  your completion percentage.  So if you  want to complete
the game 100% you have to find them all.  Otherwise you will always be stuck at
99% or so. Even though you found all 101 power cells!

How many power cells are there?

Answer:
101 Powercells
99 normal ones and 2 hidden power cells!

And where are the 2 hidden powercells hidden?

Answer:
One can be found  in the  vulcanic crater   and the  other one  in the mountain
pass.
Look it up in chapter  iv under  the locations I  just mentioned.  There I have
already written down all you need to know.

Why i Jak not talking? Is he dumb?

Answer:
He never has to speak  as Daxter talks all  the time already.  And this is also
interesting, isn't it?
