Story Thus Far......................................................STF

Jak 3 will pick up almost immediately after the ending of Jak II. A fanatical
religious zealot has gained a place of power on the "Council of Haven City".
This man is obsessed with getting Jak kicked out of the city. By using Jak's
connections with Krew he is able to convince the council that Jak is
responsible for letting the Metal Heads into the City. Thus the council rules
that Jak must be exiled into the wasteland. Even Ashelin can't save Jak from
the council. The game will start with Jak on the cruiser that is escorting
him to be dropped off in the middle of the wasteland where he faces certain
death.

<As Jak and Daxter enter the Spargus City garage the wastelander
Kleever begins talking to the duo.>

Kleever: You guys looking for a bit of action?

<Jak nods in agreement as Daxter is staring slack jawed at kleevers
gun>

Kleever:The scope shows a group of metal heads moving through the
desert not too far from here.

<The wastelander leans in close to the pair as he says the next line>

Kleever: I don't like metal heads, almost as much as i don't like you.
And you've got some proving to do.

Kleever: Intercept those bad boys and give 'em hell. Who knows, you
may even get a gew "toys" for your effort.

<Kleever gestures towards his gun as he mentions <Toys">

<Daxter draws attention to himself for the first time to confront Kleever>

Daxter: Why does it sound like you're leaving out the dangerous parts?

<Looking back towards Jak>

Daxter: Jak I'm getting some nasty ju-ju vibes here,
I don't have the whiskers for nothing ya know.

Jak: Relax... we can handle a few metal heads.

<Kleever pretends to non chalantly ask Jak the next line as he inspects
his gun>

Kleever: Have you ever seen a wasteland metal head?

Daxter: Nooo, why???(In Australian Accent)

Kleever: Nothing, just wondering. Go get 'em heroes.

<As Jak and Daxter walk off>

Kleever: Hehehe
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Once you are in control turn to your left to find a Dune Buggy with a beam
of light shining down upon it. Me thinks that is the buggy you need to choose.
So approach it and press Triangle to enter it. Now drive straight ahead through
the open gate out into the wasteland. If you look down at your map you will see
some blinking green dots, follow them to find the metal heads you need to stop.
Also remember to try and avoid hitting any of the rocks or trees you see around
the wasteland, because just like in real life if you hit a rock-wall at
breakneck speeds you'll damage your ride.

These metal head's have a cannon on their back that fires charged balls of dark
eco at you. It can fire at you from any direction. You will also need to avoid
the creature's head at all costs. If you do make the mistake of getting too
close it can and will toss you in the air a good distance. Also don't get
trampled beneath their feet, this will result in instant death.

The main strategy for these guys is to keep moving. Just make strafing runs
and fire at one particular MH whenever you get a clear shot. If you see him
launch a shot at you STOP! If you keep moving forward the shot will land next
to you and cause damage.

One Metal Head will be off by himself as you round the turn into their "arena"
as I call it, take him out first so you don't have to worry about the others
shooting at you. Shoot the buggy's weapons (R1) as you drive the buggy to stay
within range. You'll know your shots are hitting him when you see little
purple explosions along his body.

Keep firing on this guy. It may seem like you aren't causing any damage but
he will go down after a little while. Also be sure that you don't get confused
between the other three of these guys. When you see it fall over on it's side
you'll know you've managed to kill this guy.

Now looking at your map again you'll notice that one other metal head is
rampaging by himself as well. So approach him and show him what
happened to his friend. this guy should go down without any major problems.

Now the final two metal heads are smarter then the first two, they will
tend to stay close to one another to make your job difficult.

Just pick the closer one of the two and pour it into him. As long as you
don't mix him up with the other metal head he shouldn't be a problem, just
use the same tactics as before.

Now for the final metal head, this guy tends to be running around in an area
of the wasteland that makes it difficult to hit him without getting hurt
yourself. Just do the best you can to avoid his attacks and hold down the
trigger constantly. After hitting him enough he will fall over, but he isn't
finished yet. This particular metal head will get back up again and start after
you again. Just shoot him like before and he'll finally fall down for good.

Cutscene:
<The final metal head falls over dead and drops two small items on the
desert floor>

<As Jak and Daxter approaches the carcass of the last metal head Jak
picks up a mysterious purple crystal>

<As soon as jak picks the crystal up a piece of machinery next to the
carcass activates, a holographic head appears and begins speaking>

???: Metal head commander report. What's happening?

???: If you lost that cargo and you're still alive, I'll kill you
myself!

<Jak and Daxter exchange suspicious glances at the next line>

???: I want every dark eco crystal you can find! Time is short.

???: Did you hear me?

<The hologram head turns to look up at Jak and what amy be a look of
disbelief crosses its face>

???: Wait! Not you! AAGHH!

<Jak proceeds to crushes the device beneath his big booted foot>

Jak: I don't like the sound of your voice.

Daxter: Ha! You sure kicked sand in his face!

<Camera goes in for a close up of Daxter's face for his next line>

Daxter: Oh yeah, that was good.

Jak: That face looked familiar.

Daxter: Now you're getting paranoid, buddy boy.

<Daxter begins to pat Jak's left shoulder to get him to start moving>

Daxter: Come on Big Foot let's get back. This desert gives me the
creeps.

<Jak looks one last time at the holorgam transmitter before giving up
and giving in to Daxter's demands>

Note of Special Interest:
If you explore the wasteland(which i suggest doing) you may come across
a glitch. Parts of the various bodies of water sometimes are missing
sections of water. When you hit this hole you will fall down and be
standing on black nothingness. To get out of the glitch simply walk
toward the water, jak will suddenly start his swimming animation. Just
surface and things will go back to normal.

Cutscene:
<As the trio enter the beginning of the old eco mine Jak begins to talk
to Daxter and Pecker>

Jak: It looks like some kind of old eco mine. When Mar built Haven
City, he must have carved out these old caves to get at the eco power.

<A cocky expression washes over Jak's face as Daxter starts to speak>

Daxter: Sheesh, That Mar guy must've never slept much!

Pecker: I'm going ahead to tell Onin we're back.

<Pecker leaves his "perch" and flies over to Jak>

Pecker: Watch your tail feathers Jak! This is a spooky place.

<Pecker flies off, leaving Jak and Daxter to find a way out of the eco
mine by themselves>
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Note of Special Interest:
As soon as the cinematic ends turn around towards the light eco vent.
Enter first person mode and look straight up towards the sky. You
should see a portion of a pipe just sitting in mid air. Why its up
there is beyond me, but now you know a little known secret/glitch.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This mission is slightly different from the other ones. In this mission
you get to kill things, use dark and light Jak, and try some new morph-gun
mods. One other change is you need to use the local wildlife to activate
machinery to complete the path to the exit.

Now go forward and head right, you'll be following a fairly straight forward
path throughout the entire level. The game will suggest you shoot the pillar
across from you to create a bridge, so pull out the Lv1 blaster and shoot it.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Another Note of Special Interest:
If you enter first-person view and look upwards you can see the shield
wall of Haven city, but not any part of the city itself. Sorry but
there have to be some surprises.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Be sure not to stand on the bridge for too long or it'll collapse beneath
Jak's weight. As you approach the next platform several metal head's will
attack you, switch to Lv2 blaster and start shooting. Be sure to eliminate
the two metal heads clinging to the walls as well. Once it is safe open the
KG crates for more blaster ammo and lower the next bridge.

Cross this bridge and kill the metal heads that appear. Once it is safe cross
the train tracks and turn to the left to see some descending platforms. Go
down these platforms as far forward until you start to descend on another
platform.

As you reach the bottom use the blaster to lower the bridge, don't wait
on the elevator too long or it will collapse as well. As you cross the bridge
switch to your Lv2 Scatter and charge it up to maximum. Several metal head
grunts will be closing in on you as well as some of the flying metal heads.
When you become surrounded by them release the scatter gun's shockwave to
destroy several of them. Use physical attacks on any survivors.

Four more metal heads will be further down the path, use Lv2 blaster to snipe
them from a safe distance, then move on. Follow the path until you are greeted
by three more metal head grunts. Use scatter Lv2 on them just like before. Then
approach the bridge at the right end of the room and punch it to lower it.
Cross the bridge and stand on the platform to rise up to the next level.

As the platform rises charge scatter Lv2, and be ready for the two metal head
grunts waiting to ambush you at the top. Once it is safe follow the path and
kill the metal head grunt waiting for you at the top with Lv1 scatter.

Turn right and head through the gate and use your Lv2 blaster to eliminate the
three metal heads here. Be ready for the two other metal heads to the right,
kill them the same way you just killed their friends and go in the direction
they came from.

Round the corner and jump along the platforms, but stay on the second one and
snipe the three metal heads climbing down the wall. Once its clear move
forward.

As you cross the train tracks again there will be two KG crates along side the
slanted walkway with scatter ammo and a health pack if you need them. when
you're ready go up the the walk way and through the gate.

Continue to follow the path and switch to Lv2 scatter and charge it up. As
you follow the path three metal head grunts will attack you. Let yourself be
surrounded and release the trigger to kill them all.

Approach the elevator and as you ride it down, switch to Lv1 blaster to lower
another section of bridge. As you cross the bridge three grunts and two
flying metal heads will attack you. Unleash Dark Jak and use a dark bomb to
kill all of them in one fell swoop.

Once you are ready, stand on the big circle to the left to activate the
elevator and head below ground. Once the elevator stops go straight until you
see a Light eco vent, recharge yourself if needed and stand on the small
platform. As the platform descends charge up your Lv2 scatter. Loads of
enemies await you on the next level, let them get close and release the
trigger. Once all the enemies are dead two big orange animals will come out
of a nearby pipe.

These guys are called Kanga Lizards. While they aren't necessarily enemies
they can hurt you if you get too close. What you need to do is to "deposit"
them in the big wheel like device directly across from where the first enter.
Once they are in they start running in it like a massive hamster wheel, this
will release three platforms you need to cross the chasm ahead.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Note of Special Interest:
Don't hit the lizards too many times or you'll kill them.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Jump along the first two platforms but stay on the last one. Charge your Lv2
scatter as all the enemies approach you. Shoot out the shockwave and destroy
as many as you can. It usually takes two shots to get all of them so be ready.
Once they're dead continue on ahead.

You will see two more snorkel tooths ahead of you as well as more beyond them.
Take all of them out with the Lv2 scatter gun just like usual.

On the platform that had all the enemies on it you will need to load the
"kanga wheel" again. You can usually get a lizard in there with just one spin
attack. Once the little bugger is in there go up the platforms ahead of you
and charge up your gun because a bunch of enemies are waiting for you. Release
the shockwave as you land on the third platform and clean up any survivors.
Then proceed along the path to the left.

As you go up the path charge the gun again and take out this whole family of
snorkels waiting for you. Once they're dead get ready to load another
"kanga wheel".

When the wheel is loaded three platforms start moving left and right in the
chasm ahead. Jump onto each one as they reach the middle of the chasm. Use a
spin kick to get more airtime if you need it.

As you approach solid ground again charge up the Lv2 scatter and take out all
the snorkels that are waiting for you. When they're dead get ready to load
another "kanga wheel" but be ready because three lizards will leave the pipe.
Knock the first lizard down and wait for the other two to get close to the
wheel. Jump over the first one and hit him with a spin kick to get him close
to the wheel. Then use a punch to get him inside.

Now a giant wheel will be slowly spinning with two platform attached to it.
Jump onto the platform closest to you and ride it to the other side and
remember to shoot the snorkels waiting for you.

ALOT of enemies are waiting for you on the next platform. Use a dark bomb
on them if you can or use a combination of Lv2 blaster and Lv1 vulcan fury
to kill them all. More enemies wait on the higher level of this platform but
if you used a dark bomb earlier there should be a few less. Just use any Lv1
weapon to kill whatever's left up here.

Now you need to load this final "kanga wheel" but all the kangas are on the
lower level. Just approach the lizards until you see them start coming after
you. Now stay close enough so they don't lose interest and slowly make your
way back to the wheel. get them as close to the wheel as possible and punch
him in there to release the final platforms.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Note of Special Interest:
Sometimes in this section the kangas will disappear while following you
for no apparent reason. Just suck it up and start over again, it
usually only happens once.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

head through the doorway to the right of the wheel, across the platforms, and
through another doorway to your right and punch the switch in the pillar of
light to finish this mission.

=Timed Mission=

This mission is different to ones you have done so far. You need to make
sure that this train can make it all the way across the tracks to the armored
door at the end. Now someone seems to have left portions of the track
disconnected. If the train reaches this point while the track is still up it
will explode, ending this mission. In order to complete the track we are going
to need to use the Blaster to shoot the red piece of machinery below the raised
portion of the track. Hitting this part with the Blaster will drop the track
allowing the train to continue moving. You'll know you've hit the right spot
when the red light goes blue. Also a timer on the bombs has been activated to
keep you running and gunning.

You will also need to deal with a few MH's along the way. Most of them are
small  and nothing you need to really worry about.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Note of Special Interest:
Avoid standing in front of the train car.(Though exactly why you would
do this is beyond me?) It will run you over, killing you instantly.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

1) and 2)
Whip out your Lv1 blaster and shoot the two red glowing pieces of machinery.
Hitting each one will lower a portion of track and allow the train to
continue forward.

3)
Continue to the right and try to avoid and ignore any metal heads that
don't immediately require your attention. When you get about half-way across
the bridge turn right and shoot another target to lower more track.

4)
Once you are across the bridge get on the jet board and ride it down the
angled path and get off. Turn right again and shoot another section of track.

Now continue along the path and get on the jet board again. grind across the
pipe and jump over the missing piece in the middle. Continue on your jet board
along the path.

5) and 6)
Don't stop to shoot the metal heads that attack you, just move
forward until you see two more sections of track that need to be lowered.
Shoot them both and continue to the right.

Here you will see a single platform that slides in and out off the wall. Just
take it easy and you won't fall off. Once on ground again follow the path
forward until you see several cliffs to the right. Jump along them until you
see a platform with several metal heads on it.

7) and 8)
Ignore the metal heads and look forward, you should see two more pieces of
track that need to be lowered. Move on to the left once they are down.

Now continue following the train, you'll need to traverse a few cliffs and
another pair of platforms that slide in and out of the mountain side. Just
take it nice and slow, you shouldn't have any need to rush at this point.

9)
Upon landing on solid ground again aim at the raised track ahead of you
to keep the train moving.

Keep following the path until you cross over the tracks. To the left will
be a large chasm you won't be able to jump over. Just use the Hoverboard
to grind across the pipe to the other side.

10)
Move to the edge and aim at the track ahead of you. Hit the target and move
across another pair of sliding platforms to the right.

11)
Once on the other side lower another section of track and continue along the
trench.

At the next chasm shoot the large pillar to drop it and create a bridge.
Remember not to stand on it for too long or it will collapse. Now instead of
dealing with the few metal heads over here just bring your attention back to
the train and the final two sections of track that need to be lowered.

12) and 13)
Shoot the final two raised tracks in order to trigger the cinematic and
complete this mission.

Mission Reward: Cutscene

Cutscene:
Upon lowering the final section of track, the car makes a bee-line

there is one less wall in the world.

Side Mission........................................................SdM

This mission can be found only on the wastelands.
You can collect a few Precursor Orbs by doing side missions activated at a
tiki statue out in the wasteland.

You don't need to exit the buggy to collect the orb, just drive into it and
Jak will collect it.

Racetrack...........................................................RcT

If you have been exploring the wasteland alot you may have stumbled upon a
racetrack. Now you are able to race along the track as much as you like, but
there are no competitors available. But if you get bored you can practice on it
in preparation for the full version in the game.

To find the racetrack head left upon exiting the garage where the dune buggies
are housed. You'll be at the race track when you see a bunch of red stones and
torches. Thats about as descriptive as it gets.

The starting line for the track is located by the orb mission statue, look
for a thick line of redstones on the ground.

Morph-Gun 101.......................................................101

This time around your main armament has undergone a few "enhancements".
Each mode now has two additional firing modes. But for the demo you only
get to try a couple of the new ones.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
/Scatter Gun(Red)                                                     /
/Lv1-Normal mode from Jak II, uses one ammo per shot.                 /
/                                                                     \
/Lv2-Charges up a Shockwave to deal damage in a greater area. More    \
\    ammo the longer you charge the shot. 2-4 ammo used per shot.     \
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
/Blaster(Yellow)                                                      /

/                                                                     \
\Lv2-Shots Richochet off walls a few times until an enemy is hit,     \
\    2 ammo per shot.                                                 \
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
/Vulcan Fury(Blue)                                                    /

Ammo- The two guns that should be used most often are the Scatter and
Blaster. Both of these are good, well-rounded weapons and are effective
in almost any situation. You will find ammo for these two guns almost
everywhere you go.

Targeting- Having trouble hitting that Metal Head? Just move forward
slightly and Jak will lock right on that bugger for sure.

Holstering Weapons-Simply hold the D-pad down and Jak will do the rest
(Example Hold UP to put Scatter Mod away.)

Wastelander Moves-You can still perform wastelander moves with all the
levels of the morph-gun.

===============================================================================
Collectibles........................................................Col

Most of the collectibles you find in the game will come from Krimzon Guard
Crates. These crates are just like the ones from the previous game and are
best described as a red and blue box on the ground. Enemies can also offer
a few collectibles.

--KG Crates--
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Green Eco Pack
These are very important on your journey. Collecting one of these will
restore two hitpoints.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ammo
Anytype of ammo can be found in a KG crate. The color of the ammo shows
which gun it is for. Scatter ammo will restore five shots. Blaster will
restore 10 shots. Vulcan fury ammo will also restore 10 shots. Peace
Maker ammo will restore 1 shot. Scatter and Blaster ammo are the most
common types.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark Eco
This purple eco will allow Jak to transform into Dark Jak if he collects
enough of it. Pretty rare in crates, they usually appear in areas where
you are going to want to use Dark Jak very soon. Just for the sake of
knowledge, it takes 85 "pieces" of Dark Eco to fill your meter.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

--Enemies--
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Metal Head Gems
Killing a metal head will release this gem from it's forehead. It is
bright yellow and tends to bounce for a little bit. If the gem you were
looking for should happen to fall off the edge of a cliff where you
can't follow it don't worry. It should "jump" back up to where you are
if your lucky. It is unknown what purpose collecting these will have
as they serve no purpose in the demo.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark Eco
This purple eco will allow Jak to transform into Dark Jak if he collects
enough of it. Killing MH's will always leave Dark Eco behind. Collect
enough dark eco to bring the pain to your enemies. Just for the sake of
knowledge, it takes 85 "pieces" of Dark Eco to fill your meter.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

--Precursor Items--
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Precursor Orbs
These floating brown orbs are very rare and valuable. In the final game
You can collect three of these by doing any side mission activated at a
tiki statue found out in the wasteland.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Precursor Armor
While not a "collectible" like the others here, this seemed as good a
place as any for it. You can see this item on Jak's left shoulder
(your right). This item will give Jak more Hitpoints which in turn lets
Jak take more damage without dying. And more life is ALWAYS a good
thing.
