1. INTRODUCTION
******************************************************************************

Hey, everybody everybody!  Welcome to my FAQ/Walkthrough for DDR SuperNOVA,
the version for the North American PS2.  In the 2006 version of the famed
Dance Dance Revolution series, we finally get a version based very closely
on its arcade counterpart.  In this FAQ, you'll find information on all the
game's songs, game modes, how to play, and how to get through the new
Stellar Master Mode.  Keep practicing, I know you can do it!

******************************************************************************
2. FAQ
******************************************************************************

Q: What is Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA?

A: DDR SuperNOVA is Konami's 2006 edition of their famed DDR series, a
companion to the arcade release of the same name in the same year.

Q: How does one play Dance Dance Revolution games?

A: It's actually pretty simple.  Your "controller" has four directions: left,
down, up, and right, which are shown at the top of your play screen.  You
select a song.  As the song plays, arrows will start scrolling up to your top
line.  When an arrow scrolling up reaches the line of arrows at the top, you
must "step" on the direction matching that arrow's direction.  If two arrows
come up at once, you must press both at once.  If a green "freeze" arrow
appears, you must hold that step at the beginning until the freeze arrow ends.

Q: How many songs in this mix?

A: 74, same amount as DDR Extreme 2.  32 are open by default, and the other
42 you need to unlock.

Q: Are there any repeats from old mixes in this game?

A: Not a one.  For some this is a blessing.  For the whiners who want to
play DAIKENKAI or SAKURA, just get the game that has those songs.

Q: How do I unlock new songs?

A: The main means of unlocking songs is through Stellar Master Mode.
Starting at the UGUISU Stellar Joint, getting the VIP Card from the first
Showdown will get you all the songs at that Stellar Joint.  There are also
other methods, particularly for boss songs, that are explained in their
respective sections.  If you cannot manage any of those, there is a way to
unlock just about everything through long hours of play time.  You may need
60 hours of play time to get them.

Q: Where's Link Mode?  I wanna link with the arcade machine!

A: We don't know!  It was in the instruction booklet, and hyped on the
trailer, but it's absent in the game.  It's possible Konami pulled it at the
last moment, perhaps due to a lack of SuperNOVA cabinets being able to
support PS2 memory cards, or maybe due to some other reason.

Q: Is the EyeToy required to play?

A: No.  All there is to play is Hands & Feet Mode, which you can activate in
"Select a Style" if the EyeToy is hooked up.  All songs have the same
difficulties as they did for regular Single.

Q: Is this just like DDR SuperNOVA in the arcades?  I heard there were 300
songs!

A: Due to matters of space, and the fact that Konami, being a business, wants
to maximize their return and not put all their eggs in one basket, we're
given a selection of music that was featured in the arcade game, and a few
songs that aren't.

Q: Where's Battle Mode?  I can't select it from Game Mode!

A: Battle Mode has been moved to the Advanced Mode section.  You can also
find all the other features of Advanced Mode that you did in DDR Extreme 2.

Q: I'm completing songs in Stellar Master Mode!  Why isn't it giving me
credit for these trials?

A: Because you're not playing on the right difficulty, or you have some
Options turned on.  On the right side of the text for the trials are
difficulties that are allowed for that trial (sometimes it's just Beginner),
and whether Options are allowed or not (that includes any arrow skin besides
Normal/Vivid).

Q: Who is NAOKI?

A: Naoki Maeda has been with Konami for many years.  He is the leader of
Konami AM Internal Sound Team, who are in charge of coming up with songs for
each new DDR release.  He's responsible for many songs throughout DDR-dom,
under lots of artist names.  His styles run several levels, but seem to
have distilled recently down to euro beat and euro trance.  His artist names
include: Omega (the symbol), 100-200-400, 1479, 180, 190, 190', 200, 270,
290, 8 bit, B3-PROJECT, BIG-O, BLUE DESTROYERS, Crystal Aliens, DANDY
MINIERO, d-complex, DJ KAZU, DE-SIRE, DE-STRAD, DIVAS, DR. VIBE, FACTOR-X,
FIXX, KTz, Luv UNLIMITED, mitsu-O!, MR. DOG, MUSTACHE MEN, N&S, N.M.R, NM,
NO.9, NW260, RE-VENGE, RevenG, Stone Bros., TailBros, THE FINAL BAND, THE
SURRENDERS, UZI-LAY, Z, ZZ.

Q: What is Dancemania?

A: A rather large series of albums, developed by Toshiba-EMI, which showcase
a lot of dance music from artists all over the world.  Konami's BEMANI studio
has a long-standing partnership, where DDR gets Dancemania licenses (for
relatively cheap) while DDR plugs Dancemania in its games.  There are a few
DM releases in this mix.

Q: What is beatmania?

A: Developed almost concurrently with DDR, BM is a series of games where you
use your fingers instead of your feet.  You have a set of keys, like a piano,
and you have to tap those to create the music (each key tap adds music to the
playing score).  Also, you have a turntable to "scratch", which also adds
sound.  The original beatmania had 5 keys, beatmania IIDX has 7 keys (and is
the only one of the series still coming out with new mixes), and beatmania
III has 5 keys and a foot pedal.  I refer to several songs as being "from
beatmania".  If you want to try some of these songs in their original form,
pick up the US release of beatmania and support it! ^_^

Q: What are Guitar Freaks and Drummania?

A: These ongoing series are favorites from BEMANI.  Guitar Freaks uses a
guitar with three neck buttons and a "pick", which allows you to insert
music into the song.  Drummania is similar, using a drum set.  A few mixes
into the series, BEMANI got the wise idea of combining the two series,
giving each mix the same list, and allowing the machines to link up.

Q: What is Dance ManiaX?

A: This is a short-lived series that was made to showcase more Dancemania
tunes, as well as a bunch of Konami Originals.  It's played with light beams,
and blocking them in time with the music.

Q: What is pop'n music?

A: This is a currently ongoing BEMANI series that is similar to beatmania,
only it just involves a bunch of colored buttons.  It has a more cartoonish
look to it than other BEMANI series, and many of the songs are happy songs,
or songs from popular anime.

Q: What is Mambo A Go Go?

A: A one-shot experimental music game from BEMANI.  This one involved three
conga drums, and is played much as you'd expect.

Q: What is Para Para Paradise?

A: Another short-lived series.  This one placed you on this mini-stage and
had you move your hands around to block sensor beams, similar to actual
para para routines.  The game was HEAVILY euro beat.

Q: I think a genre you have listed is incorrect.

A: Tell me what you think it should be, but present a good case, because I've
asked a lot of people about this subject.  However, if you're disputing a
genre that has a star (*) after it, then I won't bother, because those are
the official genres as Konami states.

Single Mode: This is a 1-player mode using the pad you used to start the game.
A second player may jump in at any time by pressing START.
Versus Mode: This is a 2-player mode where each player uses a pad.
Double Mode: This is a 1-player mode where the player uses both pads.  Every

Select Difficulty

Tutorial: Select this to get coached on how to play DDR.
Easy: An easy set of songs.
Medium: An middle-road difficulty set of songs.
Difficult: Mostly hard songs.
All Music: Not only will this give you all available songs, but you'll also
be in "Event Mode", as in you'll go back to the song list if you fail or if
you finish your set.  In other modes, you go back to the title screen after
failing of finishing.

Note that picking difficulty won't restrict you to a certain step difficulty;
you'll only be restricted in which songs you can play.  The only true
difference in game play is which Extra Stage you'll get if you earn it.

There really is NO PATTERN to the set of songs they pull up in Easy, Medium,
and Difficult.  Well, there may be, but it's more complex than I'm willing to
figure out.  If you have a specific song in mind, just pull up All Music.

---

Select Music

Use Left and Right to switch songs.  Tap Up or Down to change the difficulty.
Press X or Circle to select.

Press Start to access the Quick Menu.  From here you can change the sorting
of the list, save your progress, or check your records in one list.

Changing the sorting will change it from the default "by color" setup to an
alphabetical list where you can pick the letter, to by BPM from slowest to
fastest, to by step difficulty, based on the current difficulty you have
selected, and your "favorites", which is measured by the total score from all
your plays of the song divided by the number of the difficulty each time you
played.

Difficulties:

Beginner (BEG): Almost all songs are 1-footers.  Don't play this for too long
if you wish to get better.
Basic (BAS): Most songs range from 2 to 5 feet.  This is pretty simple if
you're getting used to DDR.
Difficult (DIF): Most songs range from 4 to 7 feet.  Largely, you'll find that
steps reflect how the music goes, as opposed to just being on the beat.
Expert (EXP): Most songs range from 6 to 10 feet.  These are the tough ones
where they focus on two things: matching the song's notes exactly, and/or
kicking up the difficulty to give you pains.
Challenge (CHA): A special "second Expert" difficulty.  Only certain songs
have this difficulty, some as the only difficulty.

At the left side of the screen, you'll see the BPM for the song, which may be
dynamic, and the "Groove Radar", which gives a detailed look at the song.

Groove Radar: This is a graphical representation of the difficulty of the
song.  It's broken down into five attributes:
- Stream: More or less the overall number of steps.
- Voltage: How many steps are sandwiched into how much time.  Higher voltage
means more steps in less time.
- Air: The overall number of double steps (time spent in the air).
- Freeze: The overall number and length of freeze arrows.
- Chaos: The number of weird steps (not straight 1/4 and 1/8, or steps that
force you turn as you step).

If you can't figure out what song you want, you can select ROULETTE.  This
will start the song list rolling.  Press X to stop it.  It's tough to get it
to stop on a song you want, though.  Once your song's picked, you can still
adjust the difficulty.

Also, you can select RANDOM.  This will automatically pick a random song at
the current difficulty.  You will not be able to adjust anything once you hit
the RANDOM button.

Furthermore, select EDIT DATA to pick any saved edits you have to play with.

---

Speed: This is the speed of the arrows on the screen.  It doesn't affect the
speed of the song, just the arrows.
Boost: If turned on, the arrows will gradually speed up as they move on the
game screen.
Appearance: "Visible" is the normal setting.  If "Hidden" is on, the arrows
will vanish about half-way.  If "Sudden" is on, the arrows will appear about
half-way.  If "Stealth" is on, you won't see the arrows at all.
Turn: "Off" is normal.  "Mirror" rotates all arrows 180 degrees.  "Left"
rotates them 90 degrees to the left.  "Right" in the other direction.
"Shuffle" specifically picks two sets of arrows and reverses their roles,
giving a new somewhat random selection that doesn't fall under Mirror, Left,
or Right.
Dark: Turning this on will remove the Step Zone from the screen.
Scroll: "Standard" is normal bottom to top scrolling.  "Reverse" is, oddly
enough, scrolling from top to bottom.
Arrow: "Vivid" is the normal setup.  "Note" (also known as Solo) gives you
different colors for different types of notes (1/4, 1/8, 1/16, etc).
"Rainbow" is similar to Note, only with brighter colors.  "Flat" gives you
all arrows the same color.
Cut: Turning this on will remove all non-quarter notes from the song.  It
won't give you a good chance for a high score, though.
Freeze Arrow: You can turn the Freeze Arrows off.
Jump: Turning this to "Off 1" will make all jumps into single steps.  Turning
this to "Off 2" will remove jumps entirely.
Character: "Random" is default, but you can select any random male or female,
or any of the eight characters specifically: Afro, Emi, Rage, Jenny,
Baby-Lon, Robo-Zukin, Gus, or Ruby.  There are also additional characters to
unlock (well, one, who has different colored outfits)
Stage: Select which of the multi-colored 3D stages you want your character to
dance in.

---

Are You Ready?

The main field consists of the arrows and the Step Zone, which is a line of
arrows on the screen.  As the song plays, arrows will begin scrolling along
the screen.  As the arrows reach the Step Zone, you need to step on those
arrows.  If you see a green Freeze Arrow, you need to step on that arrow and
hold it until the Freeze Arrow ends (you don't need to remove your foot when
it ends, just stay on it until it ends, and move your foot at your leisure).

On the top of the screen is the Dance Meter.  It starts about half full.  As
you step properly, it'll fill more.  If you misstep, your Dance Meter will
start emptying.  If it empties completely, game over.

On the bottom of the screen is the difficulty (in case you forgot), and your
score as it tallies up.

Also in the middle of the screen, you'll see words pop up as you step:

MARVELOUS: You stepped precisely on the arrow.  This needs to be turned on
in the Options to see in Game Mode, but is automatically on in Advanced
and Training Mode.  For Game Mode, it's ranked no better than a PERFECT.
PERFECT: You stepped more or less precisely on the arrow.  Combo continues,
the dance meter increases, and you get the maximum possible score from that
step.
GREAT: You just about stepped on the arrow.  Combo continues, the dance meter
increases, and you get half the maximum possible score for the step.
GOOD: You're off on the step by a bit.  Combo stops, but the dance meter
doesn't change.  You get no points.
ALMOST: You're off on the step by quite a bit.  Combo stops, and your dance
meter decreases.  You get no points.
BOO: You completely missed the step.  Combo stops, and your dance meter
decreases.  You get no points.

OK!: You stepped on the whole Freeze Arrow.  You get the normal maximum score
for a step.
NG: You stepped off the Freeze Arrow before it ended. Combo continues, but
your Dance Meter will decrease.  You get no points.

Also marked on the screen is your combo, which is how many PERFECTS and GREATS
you have in a row.  The announcer will tell you when you hit 100 combo, 200,
etc.

---

Evaluation

Once you complete the song, you'll see an Evaluation Screen.  You'll receive
a letter grade, a tally on how many of each step you got, your maximum combo,
and your score.

Scoring is measured by the following algorithm:

X = The total number of standard steps (double steps count as one) +
(2 * the total number of Freeze Arrows)

Y = 10,000,000 / X

Each PERFECT and OK is worth Y points.  Each GREAT is worth Y/2 points.  All
other types of steps are worth no points.

So, your maximum possible score is 10 million.

The grades are AAA, AA, A, B, C, D, and E.

AAA = 10 million
AA = 9.5 million
A = 8.1 million
B = 6.7 million
C = 5.3 million
D = Any score lower
E = Failed song

---

Extra Stage

If you played your last song on Expert or Challenge difficulty and you got at
least a AA on it, you'll access the Extra Stage.  Here, you can select a
fourth song to play.

Your Extra Stage must be played on Expert.  The song will be played with the
options x1.5, Reverse, and Rainbow Arrow turned on.  Your Dance Meter is
special here, too.  Instead of a normal Dance Meter, you'll have a No
Recovery Dance Meter, which will start completely full.  If you misstep, the
Dance Meter will go down, and you cannot increase it back up.

Depending on which difficulty you selected at the beginning, you'll also get
a boss song that you can play, appearing red on the song list:

Easy: MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix)
Medium: Healing-D-Vision
Difficult: Fascination MAXX
All Music: Fascination -eternal love mix-

---

One More Extra Stage

If you select a red song for your Extra Stage and pass it, you'll be allowed
to play a fifth song.  This song will be played on Rainbow Arrow and with one
tick on the Challenge bar, meaning one misstep is a failure.  Available
will be "CHAOS" for select.

---

EyeToy Play

Plug an EyeToy into one of the USB ports, then fire up Free Play Mode.  The
game will ask if you wish to use the EyeToy, then give you the style.  It
will give you the additional style select of "Hands & Feet".  After selecting
that, you'll go to the song select screen.

You'll notice there are additional markers on the difficulties.  Next to
every difficulty is a set of handprints.  These are how difficult the hand
motions are for this song, on a level of one to two.  Also available is a
special "Hands & Feet" step difficulty which focuses the steps so they
compliment the hand motions.

As you play, you'll have an image of what the EyeToy sees transposed onto the
screen.  You need to move the image of yourself onto hand prints when they
scroll up to the Step Zone.

In addition, if you wish, you can just select the usual Single, Versus, or
Double while using the EyeToy and you get the same "Watch Me Dance" from
Extreme USA.  Added to the "Quick Menu" (START button) is the selection of
"Camera", where you can check what the camera's seeing.

3D. Dancing Tips for the Beginner =
===================================

KEEP PRACTICING!

So, you've just got into DDR, eh?  Good for you!  You've become a part of a
cult sensation that still holds tons of respect in arcades across the country!
This game will probably seem quite overwhelming to you at first, especially
if you watch people play it and watch them do 9-footers.  Don't sweat it.
You CAN be as good as them with the proper practice and effort.

If you really want to get into this, definitely use the Official DDR Pad.
There's no PS2 controller to use in the arcades, so learn the pad nice and
early.  Most game stores have a few of these tucked away (possibly more, if
Konami's hyping this game like they should).  If you're truly a beginner, you
may just want to start with a nice cheap pad.  That way, if you find it's not
for you, you're not out a huge investment.

So, to begin, use the Tutorial the game provides you.  It will walk you
through the basics and coach you to be a better dancer.

Here are some tips I can give you as a beginner:

1. Get a good feeling for the beat.  People who have performed with music have
an advantage.  People in marching band have a serious advantage.  ~_^  You'll
be stepping to the beat in these early stages, so get used to it now.

2. Now that you have the beat, you must "find the arrows".  Yeah, sure.  I
know they're right there in front of you, to your sides, and behind you, but
can you hit them without looking?  Early on, you'll find that's your biggest
problem: taking a step and not landing on the arrow.  If you have to look,
look, but that tactic won't last forever, so before a song takes off, take
some cursory steps to make sure you're hitting arrows.

3. Keep your center.  Especially on cheap pads with no definition, you'll find
yourself often taking leave of the center of the pad as you continue stepping.
If there's a break in the song, look down to make sure you're in the center.

4. Use the balls of your feet.  You may notice, after some days of a lot of
playing, that your ankles will start hurting.  That's normal, and it's
happened to most everyone I know that DDRs.  This is your feet telling you to
not step with your heels, but with the front of the foot.  Get into that
habit.

5. Now that you have these basics, head into Beginner Mode and start tackling
songs.  In particular, get used to the speed of the songs, as well as the
speeding-up, slowing-down, and stopping some songs do.  When that just gets
too easy, take a deep breath and head into the real DDR world with Basic
Mode.  Try to keep your songs at three feet or below, but don't be afraid to
venture out into the great unknown.

=======================================
3E. Dancing Tips for the Intermediate =
=======================================

KEEP PRACTICING!

Well, you're definitely not a n00b anymore (pardon my French).  You're at the
point where you wouldn't completely humiliate yourself at the arcades, but
you probably won't impress many people there.  In fact, you may just bore them
with your simple steps.  It's time to go to the next level.

At this point in your career, it's time to consider a new pad.  For me, this
meant going to redoctane.com and ordering their standard soft pad.  This pad
has a soft bottom which won't slip or bunch up as much.  It's still not a
serious pad, but you could do worse with fifty bucks.

So, first tip is to KNOW THE SONGS.  You don't necessarily need to memorize
the steps, but have a basic understanding of the song before you go into it.
Even memorize the music itself, the lyrics, etc. so you can whistle along.
Know where the tempo changes may occur, where stops are.  Most importantly,
know where the songs musical notes occur in the melody, because these will
be mostly what you step.

Now that we're heading into dangerous territory, there is one big rule that
I have to stress right away:

Remember how in the last part I told you to "find your center"?  Well, you've
found it by now, so now it's time to GET OFF IT.  That's a crutch that's
let you into the game, but it will hold you back later on.  What you have to
learn is to return your feet to the center as rarely as possible, if at all.
Move your feet from one arrow to the next, and don't move them unless you have
an arrow to go to.  This is probably the hardest thing you'll ever have to
learn as a DDR player.  Once you've relinquished your grip on the center, you
only stand to improve up to the highest reaches of DDR-dom.

This actually leads to the other major point of going intermediate:

Eighth notes.  Those are those off-colored ones.  You'll have to deal with
a lot of them, so learn to love them now.  This is actually a good first step
to leaving the center, because you are absolutely required to step three or
more arrows in succession, and you'll have no time to return to the center at
all.  Use groups of three eighth notes to figure how to properly move between
arrows; combinations such as up-left-down, where your right foot goes on up,
left foot goes on left, and your right foot is already carrying back towards
the down arrow, for example.  Once you get strings of three down, you'll be
ready to tackle longer strings, of four, five, seven, even nine if they're
not too tangly.

So, for this end, you'll want to go for songs of four to six feet in
difficulty, as well as treading into the pink pink waters of Difficult Mode.
Just about all songs of this difficulty have at least several eighth notes
to give you practice.  Take these opportunities to develop your step
combinations for your own style, so you'll be ready to use them when they
appear again in harder songs.

Also, it may behoove you to get into Workout Mode or Endless Mode and
repeatedly hammer some songs, particularly those of a brisk pace.  This is a
good first step to building up all-important stamina.

===================================
3F. Dancing Tips for the Advanced =
===================================

KEEP PRACTICING!

All right.  You're through messing around, and through getting condescending
looks from your peers at the arcade.  It's time to show them what you can
really do and kick it up a notch or three.

If you're really serious now, it's once again time for a new pad.  Although
7, 8, and even some 9-footers are possible on a soft, flimsy pad, you just
won't get the high scores you cherish.  For this, I turned to RedOctane's
Ignition 2.0.  It's also a soft pad, but the thick foam insert, soft gripping
bottom, and raised step platforms make it a good pad for aspiring champions,
all for a paltry 100 clams.

Of course, if you have the money to blow (approximately $300), you may want
to take it even further and buy the Cobalt Flux pad, which is a custom-made
hard metal pad.  It's VERY resilient, and much like pads you'll see in the
arcades.

An alternative was suggested to me by one Coldman64: If you still have a thin
mat, and you need help finding where the panels are, you can try putting a
folded-up T-shirt underneath the center, allowing you to know where it is.

Anyway, pads aside, it's time to get down to business:

First, you better have mastered the stuff from the previous sections.  I want
to be able to yell out a song title and for you to hum it right there so you
know what it sounds like.  I don't wanna see your feet touch that center,
soldier, or you'll drop and give me fifty.  At this point, you should also
have quick enough eye-foot coordination so that matching arrows on the screen
with proper steps is second-nature.

Now, for some new tactics:

Chaos.  You'll soon find as you reach the higher levels, that not all arrows
are quarter notes and eighth notes.  You'll find sixteenths, twelfths, and
thirty-second notes thrown in to mess you up.  Very rarely will they be in
random.  Almost always, they'll match up with how the song goes, so you'll
at least have that going for you.  So, a thorough knowledge of the songs will
allow you to surmount this hurdle with little difficulty.

Taps.  This is the name I like to give eighth notes all on the same arrow.
These are always a pain, because you have to train your foot to tap rapidly on
the same arrow for a possibly long time, and it can really wear you out.
There's no easy way to get around this, you just have to learn it as you go.

Gallops.  This is the popular name for a series of steps that has two
sixteenth note steps together, then two sixteen notes of dead space, then two
note steps together, and so on.  When you step these notes, you'll feel like
a horse gallopping, which derives the name.  Oftentimes, these notes will be
strung so that the last note in one gallop is the first note of the next
gallop.  To properly step these, leave your last-stepping foot in place, so
it'll be ready to step the next gallop while your other foot moves to the
next note.  This leads to the final tactic.

Axis of Rotation or "crossovers".  Contrary to popular belief, you do not have
to have your upper body directly facing the screen at all times.  A very
important tactic for the toughest songs is turning your body so that making
truly difficult steps becomes easier.  Using alternating feet on long series'
of eighth notes is far less taxing than taking two or more eighth notes with
one foot.  The best way to start turning your body is with left-down-right
eighth note combos.  Left foot on the left arrow, right foot on the down, and
turn so that your left foot hits the right arrow.  It'll be very disorienting
at first, but the hard songs will really take it out of you if you don't
learn.  After learning a basic turn, learn to maintain your body at a 90
degree angle to the screen for extended periods of time, and then taking it
further by rotating 180 degrees, or even 270 and 360, if you're brave enough
to take your eyes off the screen.

Finally, it's important to be in relatively good shape for this.  You have to
have the proper stamina and leg strength to pull off the toughest ones,
because rather dexterous and tiring feats will be required of you, so keep
pounding at it, do hard songs repeatedly to build up strength, and push
yourself harder and harder to go all the way up to the great green Expert
Mode.

And lastly, never tackle 10-footers without a good insurance plan backing
you up. ^_^

==============================
3G. Dancing Tips for Doubles =
==============================

KEEP PRACTICING!

Get ready to relearn DDR all over again as you branch out towards the second
pad.

First of all, it'd be best you get good pads for this.  Soft flat mats are
just no good at all, since they'll slide apart and over each other.  Even
Ignition Pads are tough for this, since they can move as well, unless you
can find some way to lash them together.  The best, naturally, is the Cobalt
Flux dual setup, which you can connect.

Okay, you probably should begin your Doubles career after at least mastering
Difficult on Single, but it's best on Expert.

One of the greatest things to "unlearn" from Single Play is to be able to
move your entire body.  When playing Single, you'll generally maintain your
upper body in one place spatially, but that definitely won't fly on Doubles.

Crossovers take on a whole new meaning when playing on higher levels on
Double Play.  In a general sense, you'll be playing with your left foot on
the right arrow on the left pad, while your right foot will be on the left
arrow on the right pad.  A lot of the stepcharts on Doubles are engineered so
you dance around that setup.

After that, it's all pretty much getting used to the new setup.  Practice and
practice some more.  Build up your stamina, learn how to read eight arrows,
and know where to step.

These songs are available to you by default, and are either new licenses for
DDR, licensed covers, or old Dancemania licenses brought back for this game.

======================================
4A. Battle Without Honor Or Humanity =
======================================

Artist: Tomoyasu Hotei
Genre: Instrumental Rock
BPM: 95

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   2
DIF: 6   5
EXP: 8   9

Expert Notes: Seems a bit of a cop-out to say this, but "exactly as you'd
think they'd be".  At a technical standpoint, a slow song with long streams,
lots of freezes, plenty of sixteenths, and jumps.  The jumps all occur on
accents, and the sixteenths are meant to coincide with the rhythm guitar and
percussion.  Watch near the end, because freezes will be thrown in in the
middle of sixteenth runs.

---

Song Type: License
Artist Notes: Hotei is a guitarist and composer popular in Japan.  If this
sounds familiar to you, it's because this song was featured in Quentin
Tarantino's "Kill Bill Vol. 1", as well as a few commercials thereafter.

Genre: Euro Dance
BPM: 130

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 7   7

Expert Notes: The steps follow the "nah nah"'s and bagpipe accompaniment.
Other than those, the steps are pretty simple streams.

---

Lyrics:

1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4!

Nah nah nah nah nah nah
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

Does she walk?
Does she talk?
Does she come complete?
My only homeroom angel
Always pulled me from my seat
She was pure like snowflakes, no one could ever stain
The memory of my angel could never cause me pain
Years go by, I'm looking through a girly magazine
And there's my homeroom angel on the pages in between

My blood runs cold, my memories have just been sold
My angel is the centerfold
Angel is the centerfold
My blood runs cold, yeah, my memories have just been sold

Angel is the centerfold

Nah nah nah nah nah nah
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah (x3)

My blood runs cold, my memories have just been sold
My angel is the centerfold
Angel is the centerfold
My blood runs cold, yeah, my memories have just been sold

Angel is the centerfold

Nah nah nah nah nah nah
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

Artist Notes: Captain Jack was a band led by Franky Gee (Francisco Alejandro
Guiterrez), a Cuban-born American who has done his time in the military.
After leaving the service, he decided to leave the country that seemed so
pro-war to him, so he settled in Germany, where he eventually picked up his
music career.  While his style may seem militaristic, his songs are often
about anti-war and pro-unity.  He's the male vocalist for this tune, and
Sunny is the female vocalist.  The band came to an abrupt end with the
passing of Franky in late 2005.
Misc. Notes: This is a remix of the original song by The J. Geils Band,

BPM: 108

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 5   6

Expert Notes: This is supposed to be a 7-footer?  Jumps in streams, sixteenth
notes and gallops, and crossovers make this one tough chart, even with the
slow tempo.

---

Lyrics:

'Cause different
Doesn't feel so different
And going out is better
Then always staying in
Feel the wind

Let the rain fall down
And wake my dreams
Let it wash away
My sanity
'Cause I wanna feel the thunder
I wanna scream
Let the rain fall down
I'm coming clean, I'm coming clean

(Rain, fall, down) I'm coming clean
(Rain, fall, down)

Let the rain fall
Let the rain fall...

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 2
BAS: 4   5
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 8   8

Expert Notes: A fast song means that the steps can't get TOO messy.  You'll
find some mid-length streams, crossovers, and oddly enough, several of the
same jump in a row at certain times.

---

Lyrics:

She says she's no good with words but I'm worse
Barely stuttered out
"A joke of a romantic" or stuck to my tongue
Weighed down with words too over-dramatic
Tonight it's "it can't get much worse"
Vs. "no one should ever feel like.."

I'm two quarters and a heart down
And I don't want to forget how your voice sounds
These words are all I have so I'll write them
So you need them just to get by

Dance, Dance
We're falling apart to half time
Dance, Dance
And these are the lives you'd love to lead

Dance this is the way they'd love (way they'd love)
Dance this is the way they'd love (way they'd love)
Dance this is the way they'd love
If they knew how misery loved me

few crossovers, and a few jumps at the end of streams.

Lyrics:

Oh well, I woke up tonight and said I
I'm gonna make somebody love me
I'm gonna make somebody love me
And now I know, now I know, now I know
I know that it's you
You're lucky, lucky

Difficulty:

BEG: 1
BAS: 3   4
DIF: 5   5
EXP: 7   8

Expert Notes: While the streams are long, they tend to flow easily.  You'll
find a few jumps in the streams.  Other than that, nothing much of note.

---

Lyrics:

What am I, what I am, what what what (uh!)

What am I gonna do, if I can't get through
Counting all these freckles in my life
It's just a waste of my time
And there's no finishing line

How am I gonna do, if I can not get you
To listen to the dreams we could fulfill
Can't get them out of my bed
I want to knock them down the stairs

I check the stars, but there's no sign
Venus to Mars there is no line, baby
I could be happy
If you still loved me

Still your memory's clear
Always here deep inside my heart
(Deep inside my heart)
I want you back to come and feed my appetite
Another lonely night
It's our life, why aren't you around

I'm all alone, thinking
Here my eyes fill with fear
It's my life, why are you not here

BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 4   4

Expert Notes: The only thing that keeps this song from being a 6-footer is
the tail end.  Everything else is simple streams and freezes.  The last part
has gallops and off-beat steps to follow the guitar and saxophone.

---

Lyrics:

Gotta make a move to a
Town that's right for me
Town to keep me movin'
Keep me groovin' with some energy

Well, I talk about it
Talk about it
Talk about it

BPM: 120

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 4   4
EXP: 6   6

Expert Notes: The prominent odd-point of this song is the psuedo-triplets
that follow the rhythm.  Other that that, mostly simple streams, although
they can get a bit long.

---

Lyrics:

I come home in the morning light
My mother says "When you gonna live your life right?"
Oh, mother dear
We're not the fortunate ones
And girls
They wanna have fu-un
Oh, girls
Just wanna have fun

The phone rings in the middle of the night
My father yells "What you gonna do with your life?"
Oh, daddy dear
You know you're still number one
But girls
They wanna have fu-un
Oh, girls just wanna have

That's all they really want
Some fun

Expert Notes: In the first half, you'll be copying the trance sounds the
track makes.  In the second half, watch for a long stream with lots of
crossovers.

Challenge Notes: Actually quite a bit different.  The opening trance sound
steps are different.  You'll also have to deal with plenty of sixteenth
clusters.

---

Lyrics:

Ooo, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooo, heaven is a place on earth

They say in heaven, love comes first
We'll make heaven our place on earth

Ooo, baby, do you know what that's worth?

I'll be running circles around you sooner than you know
A little off center

Challenge Notes: The rhythm parts are more complicated and last longer.
The freeze tricks are more difficult and there are more jumps, too.

Lyrics:

Let's dance
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues

Let's dance

BAS: 2   2
DIF: 5   5
EXP: 8   8

Expert Notes: The opener has some weird freeze tricks.  Once you hit the
percussion-less section, there will be long freezes, then psuedo-triplets
intermixed with freezes.  The end rhythm run will be half-stream,
half-gallop, so take care.

Lyrics:

World's on turn around
Music make no sound
Where is sweetness found
Where love is gone

Sun don't come around
Don't make a sound
Where can love be found
If your heart won't feel

Shivers
Up and down my spine
Breaker
Not on my mind

How could it end this way
Don't leave me, love me
Just a little bit longer

Just a little bit longer

How could it end this way
Don't leave me, love me
Just a little bit longer

How could it end this way

4P. Shout =
===========

Artist: Lulu
Genre: 60's Pop
BPM: 130-144

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 5   5
EXP: 7   7

Play Notes: About halfway through the song, the tempo slows from 144 to 130.

Expert Notes: The first part is simple streams with some jumps thrown in.
Once you hit the verse, you'll be getting longer streams, with crossovers.
At the tempo change, you switch to gallops, which will also crossover.

---

Lyrics:

Well

You know you make me wanna shout

(Shout) Look my hands jumpin'
(Shout) Look my heart's thumpin'
(Shout) Throw my head back
(Shout) Come on now.

(Shout) Don't forget to say you will
(Shout) Don't forget to shout
(Shout) Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Say you will (throw your head back, baby)
Say you will (Come on now , come on now)
Say you will (throw your head back)
whooo
Say you will (Come on now)

(Say) Say that you love me
(Say) Say that you need me
(Say) Say that you want me
(Say) Ain't Gonna grieve me

(Say) oh come now
(Say) oh come now
(Say) oh come now
(Say) oh come now

I still remember
When I used to be nine years old
Yea yea now
How I was over you
From the bottom of my soul
Yea yea now
Now that is old enough
Enough to know
You wanna meet me
You wanna love me so

I want you to know
I said I want you to know right now
You have been good to me, baby
Better than I've been to myself
Yeah, yeah
And if you ever leave me
I don't want nobody else
Yeah yeah

Genre: Rock Pop
BPM: 131

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 5   5
EXP: 7   7

Expert Notes: The streams are pretty simple, with some crossovers.  You'll
find a few naughty freeze tricks, but nothing seriously chaotic.

---

Lyrics:

Here's the thing, we started out friends
It was cool, but it was all pretend
Yeah yeah
Since U Been Gone

You're dedicated, you took the time
Wasn't long 'til I called you mine
Yeah Yeah
Since U Been Gone

And all you'd ever hear me say
Is how I pictured me with you
That's all you'd ever hear me say

But Since U Been Gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get, I get what I want

I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get (I get)
You should know (you should know)
That I get, I get what I want

Since U Been Gone

4R. The Other Side (radio mix) =

Artist: Paul van Dyk feat. Wayne Jackson
Genre: Atmospheric Trance
BPM: 140

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 7   8

Expert Notes: An interesting chart.  The early half seems to like streams
with taps in them.  Parts with drum runs are good-sized sixteenth note
clusters.  Once the actual chorus starts, you'll have a long run of gallops
to contend with until just before the end.

---

Lyrics:

When it's broken through
I will comfort you
When I wait my longest time
Daylight brings the great divide

We can like the rain
Whispering your name
Long to be with you divide
Believe the sun will rise
When I reach the line
I will see you on the other side

See you on the other side
When I closed my eyes

See you on the other side
When I closed my eyes

See you on the other side
When I closed my eyes

Artist: Roger Sanchez
Genre: House
BPM: 129

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 5   6
EXP: 7   7

Expert Notes: Not too bad, as sevens go.  The worst you'll find are some
streams into freezes in the first half, and then some longer streams with
crossovers in the latter half.

---

Lyrics:

Think it's time you turn on the music
Feel that sound washing over me
'Cause every time you turn on the music
I can't control what comes over me

You know I feel it
When I'm out on the floor
The rhythm starts to take a hold
It goes right to my body
Right down to my soul
I think my mind's gonna overload

So turn up the music
Why don't you turn up the music
Oh, you know how to use
You gotta turn up the music, music, yeah

Feel that sound!
Feel that sound!
Feel that sound!
Feel that sound!

Think it's time you turn on the music
Feel that sound washing over me
'Cause every time you turn on the music
I can't control what comes over me

Think it's time you turn on the music
Feel that sound washing over me

BPM: 131

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   4
DIF: 5   5
EXP: 6   6
CHA: 8   8

Expert Notes: Boy, is this a snap.  The only long streams are on simple
alternating arrows, and those are few and far between.

Challenge Notes: Glad they beefed it up with this chart.  MUCH longer
streams, with TONS of crossovers, jumps in the streams, and freezes in
odd places.

---

Lyrics:

They took the credit for your second symphony
Rewritten by machine and new technology
And now I understand the problems you can see

Oh-a oh
I met your children

Oh-a oh
What did you tell them?

Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star

Pictures came and broke your heart
Oh-a-a-a oh

And now we meet in an abandoned studio
We hear the playback and it seems so long ago
And you remember the jingles used to go

Oh-a oh
You were the first one

Oh-a oh
You were the last one

Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star

In my mind and in my car
We can't rewind we've gone to far

Oh-a-aho oh
Oh-a-aho oh

Genre: Rock
BPM: 180

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 2
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 5   5
EXP: 7   7

Expert Notes: A high speed makes small streams and crossovers tougher, but
don't look for anything too hard.

---

Lyrics:

All I need is that flower in love, sleeping to be an angel
So maybe for a fall, I've gotta know the hikari (light)

I cannot forge my destiny
I cannot find the day to tear
Because I want to know the secret to the paradise
I cannot feel a rest of a leaf
I don't need the face for fear
I fade the melody like a siren crying for me

So bright, that sea in the sky
Just swept away
Why can't I feel it, ever this makes me freak out

All I need is that flower in love, sleeping to be an angel
Nothing forever, to believe, to feel, in time

Nobody wishes that I need to seek for a key with angels
So maybe for a fall, I've gotta know the chikara (strength)

---

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR SuperNOVA ARC
Artist Notes: Miki Roberts is apparently the vocalist for this tune,
composed by Naoki and originally sung by Riyu Kosaka.
Misc. Notes: This song is an English version of the opening theme for an
anime produced by Konami and JC Staff called "Sky Girls".

==============================
5B. Flow (Jammin' Ragga Mix) =
==============================

UNLOCK: Get VIP Card in Stellar Joint PHANTOM

Artist: Scotty D. revisits U1
Genre: Reggae Pop*
BPM: 70-140

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 5   5
EXP: 8   8

Play Notes: The song starts at 70, then goes to 140 soon afterwards.  Later,
there's a stop, then twice will be a short slowdown to 70.

Expert Notes: Definitely a hard set.  There are jumps all over the place,
especially in the streams, and sixteenths, offbeat steps leading into and
out of the slowdowns.  Could pass as a somewhat easy 9.

---

Lyrics:

Only if we watch together, everything, there's a flow
(Only if we watch together, everything, there is a flow)
Only with you do I wanna be part of the flow
(Only with you do I wanna be part of the flow)

Stand... if you will, right next to me
Wrapped around in the wind of eternity
See... for yourself, the history
Nature's players, boasting victory

Grab... the fruit of tomorrow
From which the energy of life we borrow
Taste... the weight of time
The only weight is of glory and crime

Notice... how weak and petty we are
In the grand picture we're drawn afar
Hey... we can't help it
We die, only our grave's legit
But love... you're very existence
You're the source of my subsistence

Slow down take your time and feel the flow

Only if we watch together, everything, there's a flow
(Only if we watch together, everything, there is a flow)
Only with you do I wanna be part of the flow
(Only with you do I wanna be part of the flow-ow-ow-ow-ow)

Notice... how weak and petty we are
In the grand picture we're drawn afar
Hey... we can't help it
We die, only our grave's legit
But love... you're very existence
You're the source of my subsistence

Slow down take your time and feel the flow

Only if we watch together, everything, there's a flow
Only with you do I wanna be part of the flow
Only if we live it can we keep up to the speed of the flow

(Okay, all right.  We're done.  Okay, let's move on.)
(Hey!  Let's move on to the next song!  We're done!)

---

Song Type: Konami Original
Artist Notes: Better known as Konami of Japan's PR man to America, Scott Dolph
is also a decent rapper.  He's done the lyrics for a few Konami tunes, most
notably DROP THE BOMB.  U1 is Yuuichi Asami.  His biggest claim is as the
sound director for the home versions of DDR, producing much of the background
music for menus, etc. that you wouldn't find in an arcade game.  He has a
large range of styles, and has remixed several of Naoki's more popular tunes
under the alias "2MB".

=======================
5C. Flow (true style) =

Artist: Scotty D. revisits U1
Genre: Trance
BPM: 140-280

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 3
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 8   8
CHA: 8   8

Play Notes: There are two double-speed sections in this song, and both
occur as soon as the "chorus" comes.

Expert Notes: This is kinda messy.  You'll find short streams in the
beginning, but it will quickly throw in gallops.  Soon after the first
speed-up, you'll be dealing with longer streams with jumps thrown in.

Challenge Notes: More messy.  Sixteenth clusters, longer streams, and more
jumps to play with.  Also, on the double speed sections, there are long
streams and sixteenths.

---

Lyrics:

Stand... if you will, right next to me
Wrapped around in the wind of eternity
See... for yourself, the history
Nature's players, boasting victory

Grab... the fruit of tomorrow
From which the energy of life we borrow
Taste... the weight of time
The only weight is of glory and crime

Notice... how weak and petty we are
In the grand picture we're drawn afar
Hey... we can't help it
We die, only our grave's legit

You're the source of my subsistence

Slow down take your time and feel the flow

Only if we watch together, everything, there's a flow
Only with you do I wanna be part of the flow

Notice... how weak and petty we are
In the grand picture we're drawn afar
Hey... we can't help it
We die, only our grave's legit
But love... you're very existence
You're the source of my subsistence

Slow down take your time and feel the flow

Only if we live it can we keep up to the speed of the flow
Only with you do I wanna fall into the flow

Only if we watch together, everything, there's a flow
Only with you do I wanna be part of the flow

(Only if we watch together, everything, there is a flow)
(Only with you do I wanna be part of the flow)

---

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR SuperNOVA ARC
Artist Notes: See the above song for info.
Misc. Notes: This is the original "Flow".  The song is exactly as it's heard
in the original version.  The only thing that's changed is that there are new
charts, with speed-ups included at two points.  You can think of it as
sort of the "proper" version of Flow (aka true style, I guess).

Genre: House
BPM: 125

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 5   6
EXP: 7   7

Expert Notes: You begin stepping the bass rhythm, with streams and gallops.
Watch out for the crossovers and freeze arrow tricks.

---

Lyrics:

When we were young, we used to share dreams
Dreams that never fade away
You were the king, I was your queen
And in my dreams, I wear destiny
I could never turn around
No matter what comes in my way

Feel so high
If you just go ahead, release your fears
Don't be ashamed to cry

Ohhh, baby
The journey may be long
But trust your power of love

Fly away, we'll fly away
Just reaching out to the sky above
Don't be afraid
Fly away, we'll fly away
Just spread your wings and fly away

Oh oh, oh oh

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR SuperNOVA ARC
Artist Notes: ChiyoTia is a vocalist from Japan hired for this song.  The
song itself is by Shoichiro Hirata, a beatmania artist who left BEMANI
back in 2003, but still makes the odd song here and there.

Expert Notes: This is NASTY, and should have been a nine-footer.  Lots of
small sixteenth clusters, jumps in the middle of streams, and crossovers at
certain points make this a step-heavy thing.

---

Lyrics:

Fly away, we'll fly away
Fly away, we'll fly away

Genre: Trance
BPM: 71-142

Difficulty:

BEG: 1
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 8   8

Play Notes: The song slows to half-speed for several measures.

Expert Notes: In the opener, the song follows a rather stricth 7/8 regimen.
The second part of the song is mostly straight eighths, then some long
freezes.  The end is gallops and a few sixteenth clusters.

---

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR SuperNOVA ARC
Artist Notes: noisycroak is a small music firm in Japan, with the majority of
the songs that have been released to DDR done by Hiroyoshi Kato.  They were
commissioned just last year (2005) for their songs to appear in DDR
Extreme 2/DDR STRIKE, and apparently, have earned enough favor to continue
releasing.

5G. My Only Shining Star =

Genre: Euro Trance*
BPM: 155

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 4   4
EXP: 6   7

Expert Notes: Opening with three-taps on the same arrow, this track goes into
small streams with some simple crossovers.  The song calms down for the
middle part, mostly stepping on off-beats.  Just watch out for a sixteenth
cluster near the last chorus.

---

Lyrics:

(Are you ready?)
My only shining star
You are my guiding star
(5, 4, 3, 2, 1, shining star!)

You should meet my only shining star
They'll make all your dreams come true
And if you meet my only shining star
They can do the same for you

Shining down from up above (shining down)
Shining down on me and you (shining down)
Shining down is what they do
So you can dance the whole night, too

Meet my only shining star
They'll make all your dreams come true
And if you meet my only shining star
They can do the same for you

Shining down from up above
Shining down on me and you
Shining down is what they do
So you can dance the whole night through...oh

(Tell me tell me where you are)
My only shining star
You are my guiding star
(You're my guiding star!)

You should meet my only shining star
They'll make all your dreams come true
And if you meet my only shining star

Artist Notes: Created and produced by Naoki, this all-female J-Pop group is
largely tied to the BEMANI series.  They've produced a few albums, but almost
all of their music was created for the games.  In 2004, they "restructured"
the group after Shiyuna Maehara left, adding three new members and "updating"
their image.  The current members are Riyu Kosaka, Noria Shiraishi,
Yoma Komatsu, Risa Sotohana, Sayaka Minami, and Miharu Arisawa.
Misc. Notes: Yeah, that's really the title.  There's a special music video

Genre: Epic Trance*
BPM: 145

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3
DIF: 5   6
EXP: 7   8

Expert Notes: The first part follows the trance synth beats pretty cleanly on
psuedo-triplets.  About the middle of the tune, you'll find a pattern of
a gallop into a freeze, with a three-tap on the same arrow repeated, then
mostly more psuedo-triplets with a few gallops and small streams.

---

Lyrics:

Long before the planets
We're forming the true
Joining of hearts brought together by longing
For words never seen before you and I were born

Enter into another dimension to travel with me to sentient stars that are
Holding the message of love through eternity's long lonely night

Open up ethereal imaginings
To worlds beyond the stars
(Take me now to paradise)
Open up your truest self and deepest heart
And know we'll never part
(Take me now to paradise)

---

Song Type: Konami Original
Artist Notes: SySF. is an alias for Sota Fujimori.  Self-proclaimed synth
junkie, Sota recently came to the BEMANI scene for home versions of DDR,
later branching out to working in IIDX games as well.  His main style is
trance, very atmospheric.  Donna Burke is the vocalist for this tune.

BEG: 2
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 5   5
EXP: 8   8

Play Notes: Watch for the stop about 3/4ths of the way through.

Expert Notes: The steps and streams are largely simple, just at a high speed.
It's pretty low-key for an eight-footer, though.

Lyrics:

True love, true love, looking for true love
Looking for true love wherever I go
True love, true love, looking for true love
For true love, for true love, so now love me so (so...)

Looking for true love, looking for true love
I'm looking for true love wherever I go
Looking for true love, looking for true love
I'm looking for true love to love me so, so

Sunday, Monday, asking my heart again
Tuesday, Wednesday, not for just a friend
Thursday, Friday, I won't give in
Satruday, start again
PLEASE

Make him handsome, make him strong
Make him kind to last the whole night long
Make him handsome, make him strong
Make him kind to last the whole night long, oh

For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
Wherever I go?

For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
To love me so, so!

(Oh, could this be the one?
Could the next one be the one?
Really? My true, true love?)

True love, true love, looking for true love
Looking for true love wherever I go
True love, true love, looking for true love
Looking for true love, so now love me so, so

For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
Wherever I go?

For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
For true love
To love me so, so!

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR SuperNOVA ARC
Artist Notes: jun is short for Junko Karashima.  Most of the info I can find
on her is in Japanese, which I can't quite read, but I can tell you that

These songs are taken from other BEMANI games, and DDR SuperNOVA Arcade was
their first appearance in the DDR world.

6A. AA =
========

UNLOCK: Get VIP Card on Stellar Joint NITRO

Artist: D.J.Amuro
Genre: Renaissance*
BPM: 154

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 7   7
EXP: 9   9

Expert Notes: The opener is quite a mess with the offbeat steps.  Watch for
lots of small sixteenth clusters.  Midway through the song, you'll find
long streams that have alternating steps on the same arrow (meaning you
keep your foot on one arrow the whole time).

---

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: beatmania IIDX 11: IIDX RED
Artist Notes: D.J.Amuro is an alias of dj TAKA.  Takayuki Ishikawa is the
super star of betamania IIDX.  His genres are varied and his music tends to
be some of the highest rated and most often played.  He has at least three
new songs (most often more) in every new IIDX release.  Many of his tunes
end up finding their way to DDR.

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl

crossover.

Lyrics:

Can't stop fallin' in love!

My life
Meant nothing to me
Then a guy like you came along

Everything
Is moving so fast,
I gotta get my feet on the ground

Unhappy days are over 'cause I can
Always be with you

Lying in your arms day by day,
Makes me feel Ohh... so brand new

Can't stop fallin' in love
Baby you became
Makin' love with you
Is all I wanna do, (wanna do)

Say you love me baby
Say you will always be mine
You'll never break my heart

Can't stop fallin' in love
Give your heart and soul
Stay with me this time
And we'll make history, (you and me)

Genre: Jazz
BPM: 140

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 8   8

Expert Notes: Since this song is percussion heavy, the steps try to focus on
the percussion, so there are a LOT of offbeat steps.  You'll also find a
few long freezes, where the other foot has to tap other stuff.

---

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: Drummania 2nd Mix
Artist Notes: Jimmy Weckl is an "Anglification" of Harumi Ueko, one of the
more active artists for the Guitar Freaks and Drummania series.

Genre: Flow Beat*
BPM: 184-188

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 2
BAS: 2   2
DIF: 4   4
EXP: 7   7

Play Notes: The tempo changes are rather slight, so it's not worthwhile
pointing them out.

Expert Notes: Pretty tough for a seven-footer, especially when you get about
halfway through, where the streams start getting long and with regular
crossovers.

---

Lyrics:

I think you decide it, when I keep my love to be best.
Now I wonder how you slipped away from me.
Make me run always how my loves fade into blue.
That's immobility all-time, all-place, somewhere.
In fact, I was understanding that you know how
to rescue me with such your touch.
But it should be a dream made real,
so I'm going to become trouble my uneasiness.
It was a dream you knew how to rescue me.
I know you know

BEG: 1
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 7   6

Expert Notes: Steps follow the music largely throughout, with streams
ending in gallops.  Watch out for all the freezes before the verse, and
the sixteenths while in the verse.  Also, you'll find crossovers dotted
about the chart.

---

Lyrics:

(1, 2, 3 and 4)
Dynamite Rave!
(1, 2, 3 and 4)

Come on everybody!
And get on the floor!

Come on everybody!
And get on the floor, yeah!

Jump jump
Do your thing
This be the bomb
Try to sing
Narrator king
Spread your wings
Make your head ring
To this song
All night long
Jack your body
To this party
Feel the pain
When you strain
Don't refrain
Please don't stop
Until you drop

I don't wanna give up
We're gonna have a party
Have a really great time
Yeah Yeah!
Just feel the heat
Listen to the music
and feel that beat

Ohh yeah
Can ya feel it?

Feels like I’ve been here before

When it’s live and love and ever so free

Every time I’m with you I can hear birds singing
Sounds like la la la la la la

Lyrics: (I'm not too sure about this >_>)

Follow you, jammin' away to anything
Just to come on, to anything
Just to believe in we're hiding - alone in the dark
GIVE ME SOME MORE
Can we believe in anything?
Why you are sad? We don't know
Sat at the door and leave us safe from the dark

We're only young, once...

You don't have to believe, in a color yourself
But I just saw it
Gotta keep alot of the things
Oh you know - fight the bad feeling - no fair!
If you wanted the view, then I having your fun
There's something wrong with these
So follow to me - and can do our song tonight.

True, do you really know that song?

Expert Notes: A decent eight-footer.  Seems simple at the start, then it
picks up with the synth, throwing gallops all over the place in the streams.
Once the key changes, it's one big long stream almost straight to the end,
which, of course, pounds out the last few notes.

Lyrics: (Thanks Zonic!)

Run with the ghetto

Lyrics:

En esta tierra que todo hay
En sus campos verdes a correr
Lindas flores que nacen
Para el mundo adornar

Madre tierra a bien decir
Dime donde anda mi amor
Y la tarde está por caer
Estrellas brillarán

Me acuerdo con cariño
Tengo nostalgia de estar contigo
Hoy estoy aquí sola
Canto una canción
Que a ti te gustaba oír

Cóndor llévame a él

Cóndor llévame a él
Muy cerca de él que es donde quiero estar
Cóndor donde está él
Yo voy a buscar hasta encontrarlo

Cóndor llévame a él
Muy cerca de él que es donde quiero estar
Cóndor donde está él
Yo voy a buscar hasta encontrarlo

Voy regalar mi alegre cantar

English Translation:

In this rich land
In its green fields where you can run
Pretty flowers are born
To adorn the world

Mother Nature, tell me for sure
Where my love is
And the sun is beginning to set
Stars will shine

I remember with love
I have nostalgia of being with you
Today, I am here alone
I sing a song
That you liked hearing

Condor, take me to him
So close to him which is where I want to be
Condor, where is he?
I will search until I find him

I am going to give him my joy of singing

I remember with my love
I have nostalgia of being with you
Today, I am here alone
I sing a song
That you liked hearing

Condor, take me to him
So close to him which is where I want to be
Condor, where is he?

careful when the steps switch back to normal streams.

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: pop'n music 11
Artist Notes: Morning Blue Dragon is an alias for Jun Wakita, a BEMANI

BPM: 170

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 4   5
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 9   9
CHA: 10  10

Expert Notes: The steps follow the music pretty closely, with streams, jumps
at the end of them, lots of crossovers, and a few sixteenth clusters to
match up with fast moving beats.  A draining nine-footer, but it can be
done pretty easily with practice.

Challenge Notes: Much of the steps are the same for the ten-footer version,
but the opening section has gallops instead of straight eighths, there are
more sixteenths, and the sixteenths themselves are more difficultly placed.

Lyrics:

Existing in this place now are uncleanable lies
I wonder when it has begun
How far do
I have to go to see the light?

Unrequited existence will turn
Everything into nothing

Difficulty:

BEG: 1
BAS: 3   3

Expert Notes: A pretty simple step pattern for a pretty simple song.  You'll
find mostly streams that sometimes go on for a bit, but never too long.
Also, there are a few crossovers, as well as a few jumps at the end of
some streams late in the song.

---

Lyrics:

Listen! I can hear
Carried with the wind
He's playing, sweet sound of Balalaika

They say "It can't be
Just fantasy
He will never come back again"

I'm waiting for him, because
He said "Oh Natasha, my darling
I'll love you forever, I swear
Wait till I come back to you"

Listen! Can't you hear?
Carried with the wind
He came back playing Balalaika

Lyrics:

English Translation:

Hey, why is your heart in pain?
Let the neverending rain reflect your heart
Even if it's the saddest in the world

Look at that faraway sky beyond the clouds!
Here, soon, you'll find
A bright light will shine

You should be able to fly high, to the sky
Leap over the rainbow!
The tears shown that day will shine someday and are valuable

"Time" is created, something you create and set into motion
It is in your hands alone, the key to the door

Where is your bright dream?
Yes, always believe in yourself
When you feel discouraged, remember
That I am here...

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 8   9
CHA: 9   9

Expert Notes: Watch out for lots of freezes and streams that mostly follow the
vocals.  There are also some taps on the same arrow and crossovers, too.  In
the latter half, gallops will lead into streams.  And, of course, the last
few seconds are a triplet piano run.

Challenge Notes: More of everything, really.  More sixteenth clusters,
more single arrow taps, more crossovers, and more jumps.

Lyrics:

Egao no to eien to hikikae ni

English Translation: (Thanks, Zonic!)

A white feather floated down into this world
Surely, we seek out beautiful, shining moments
Because there are limits to our existence

When I first began to dream in those shutaway, spiritless days
I want to touch you

One day, you, who knew nothing of that sort of existence, said goodbye

Why am I only allowed to see you off, without even
A way for me to tell you these feelings that have awakened
After thousands of years?

The shadows fade into the distance!

No way to tell you my heart; let me at least try to tell you!
Miracles happen in exchange for a single tear that becomes "eternity".

close to on-beat.

Difficulty:

Lyrics:

(I'm a-slappin' my center, wet the end)

Get away, comin' atcha

Lead the way, he can sweat
Lettin' me go first

Hit to the slap, there's a light up goin' on.

Hit to the slap, to the maximum, you know
Grab by the throat, cut me close to the ender

Hit to the slap, to the maximum, you walkin'

BPM: 150

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 1
BAS: 4   4
DIF: 6   6
EXP: 8   8
CHA: 9   9

Expert Notes: The main focal point is to take care of the "streams", which
are in fact, 12th gallops.  At several points, there will be 12th runs, as
well, to match the pace of the song.  Also, watch for crossovers, including
in the runs.

Challenge Notes: More of the same.  More jumps, more crossovers, and more
12th runs.

Lyrics:

Sittin' around, watchin' TV
Looking for something to do
When all of a sudden, a commercial comes on that says
"Hey!  Come to the zoo!"

So, me and my friends, we go out in the car
Didn't have much gas
Good thing we didn't have to go too far
Didn't have to go too far

First things first, we got some ice cream
And then we headed over to tease the monkeys
Stuck my tongue out and made the monkey frown
Tryin' to be cool with my friends around

Well, I guess he had enough of me
'Cause when I turned my head, he stole my ice cream
That little monkey stole my ice cream
And everybody laughed at me

That little monkey stole my ice cream
Everybody made fun of me
That little monkey made a monkey out of me

As the day came to an end
We walked right by the monkey again
And as he was swingin' from tree to tree
I swear that monkey was laughing at me

Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey

That little monkey made a monkey out of me

That little monkey made a monkey out of me

Don't monkey with the monkey
Don't monkey with the monkey

These red songs are special hard songs, aka "boss songs".  They're all ten
feet of difficulty on Expert and Challenge.  Accessing them also takes
special feats.  In general, the idea is to play Game Mode and pass your last
stage on Expert with a AA.  You're then given one of the songs as an Extra
Stage, depending on what you selected as your opening difficulty after
selecting your style.

================================
8A. MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix) =
================================

Extra Stage: On "Easy" difficulty, pass your last song on Expert with a AA.
You'll play this song at 1.5x, Reverse, and Rainbow.

UNLOCK: Get an A while playing this song as an Extra Stage.
OR: Get EX VIP Card on Stellar Joint NITRO

Artist: Jondi & Spesh
Genre: Hardcore Techno/Trance*
BPM: 140-320

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 3
BAS: 6   6
DIF: 8   9
EXP:10  10
CHA:10! 10!

Play Notes: The song carries on at a MAX's normal 300 for a bit of the first
part.  After the trancey sounds, it cuts up to 320, then drops for a couple
of measure to 140, then resumes the 300, and closes out at 320.

Expert Notes: Some say this is harder than MAXX UNLIMITED and beyond.  I'd
say it's comparable.  If you've played both MAX 300 and MAXX UNLIMITED, the
steps should be familiar, since it's kind of a split between the two.  Be
very careful about losing your stamina in the opener, because there are a lot
of doubles in the beginning, which can drain you easily.  And of course, I'd
be lynched if I neglected to mention the end, which is a bunch of short to
long to giant streams.  Fortunately, most of these streams alternate feet,
which is markedly easier than stepping around the pad.

Challenge Notes: Yes, harder than the Heavy steps.  Lots of jumps in the first
half, which can really drain you, and remember how I said the Heavy steps
aren't as bad because they alternate steps?  Yeah, now they go all around
the pad for the final long streams.  Have fun, now.

Song Type: Konami Original
First Appearance: DDR Ultramix 2
Artist Notes: Jondi & Spesh are part of the group Loöq Records.  This tune
was made specifically for DDR.
Misc. Notes: To be perfectly honest, this song seems to take more from MAXX
UNLIMITED than it does from MAX 300.  The Challenge steps were added to this
song when it appeared in DDR STRIKE.  This song has the background video
from DDR STRIKE.

======================
8B. Healing-D-Vision =
======================

Extra Stage: On "Medium" difficulty, pass your last song on Expert with a AA.
You'll play this song at 1.5x, Reverse, and Rainbow.

UNLOCK: Get an A while playing this song as an Extra Stage.
OR: Get EX VIP Card on Stellar Joint NITRO

Artist: DE-STRAD
Genre: Drum'N'Bass
BPM: 180-360

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 3
BAS: 7   7
DIF: 8   8
EXP:10  10
CHA:10  10

Play Notes: About 3/4ths of the way through, the BPM doubles from 180 to
360.  Please be careful.

Expert Notes: This song really doesn't get too difficult until the BPM change,
but for completion sake: the opening has a lot of gallops and you'll find
plenty of air on the accented notes.  Once the song kicks in to high gear,
you'll get small streams at the super-fast tempo.  Nothing complicated, just
incredibly fast and tiring.

Challenge Notes: The steps in the first section are a little more complicated
with more sixteenths thrown in.  There's more air on the accents, and, as
you might expect, the final section is quite a bit worse, with longer streams
and crossovers.  Just think, this is the easier one.

8C. Fascination MAXX =
======================

Extra Stage: On "Difficult" difficulty, pass your last song on Expert with a
AA.  You'll play this song at 1.5x, Reverse, and Rainbow.

UNLOCK: Get an A while playing this song as an Extra Stage.
OR: Get EX VIP Card on Stellar Joint THE LAST.

Artist: 100-200-400
Genre: SuperNOVA Beat*
BPM: 100-400

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 3
BAS: 9   8
DIF: 9   9
EXP:10  10
CHA:10  10

Play Notes: Okay, the song actually begins at 100, but as soon as you hit
the first step, you'll be going at 400.  After about twenty seconds, it
slows to 100 for a second, then goes back to 400.  It does this about twice
more in the space of another twenty seconds, then goes to 100 for another
twelve seconds.  Then, it sits on 200 for about forty seconds, then a quick
stop, then a little more at 200, then another quick stop, and a few more
seconds at 200, then the song goes another twenty at 400, then has another
few seconds at 100, then another few seconds at 200, then it closes out
quickly at 400.

Expert Notes: The first 400 run is straight quarters.  Once it starts the
momentary slowdowns, you'll have small to mid-size streams to deal with.
The longer 100 section has psuedo-triplets and 24ths.  Once the 200 section
goes, you have gallops interspersed with straight eighths to trip you up.
The 200 section with stops has you stepping the music, then the last 400
section is short streams, then longer and harder streams and jumps.  The
last 100-200-400 section is pretty much just

Challenge Notes: Honestly, there isn't much different about this chart.
The only notable difference (if in fact the ONLY difference) is that the
opener (that normally had quarters) now has streams and freezes, making you
that much more tired for the rest of it.

====================================
8D. Fascination -eternal love mix- =
====================================

Extra Stage: On "All Music" difficulty, pass your last song on Expert with a
AA.  You'll play this song at 1.5x, Reverse, and Rainbow.

UNLOCK: Get an A while playing this song as an Extra Stage.
OR: Get Diamond EX VIP Card on Stellar Joint THE LAST.

Artist: 2MB
Genre: SuperNOVA Beat
BPM: 100-400

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 4
BAS: 9   9
DIF: 9   9
EXP:10  10
CHA:10  10

Play Notes: The song starts at 100 for a few seconds, then a short stop, then
it proceeds at 200 for about ten seconds, then it kicks to 400.  After ten
seconds of that, 200, then 400 after five seconds for just a second, then
back to 200, where there are several short stops as it follows the rhythm.
After about twenty seconds of that, it goes to 400 for nearly thirty
seconds, then 200 for about ten seconds, then 400 for fifteen seconds, then
finally a stop at the end.

Expert Notes: It's almost not even worth saying how much of a mess this step-
chart is, but I'll try anyway.  Generally, in 100 BPM sections, you'll find
sixteenths, in 200 BPM sections, lots of eighths, and in the 400 BPM
sections, usually straight quarters, but some gallops.  In the last two 400
sections will have eighths in them.

Challenge Notes: It seems a bit easier at first, but man, it's a WHOLE LOT
harder.  On paper, it doesn't look like that much bigger of a deal; a few
more streams in the 400 sections to complicate things.  The problem, and what
pretty much makes this the new official "hardest" chart in DDR history, is
all the jumps that are thrown into the 400 section.  Just... don't hurt
yourself.

One More Extra Stage: Pass one of the red songs as your Extra Stage during
Game Mode.  You'll be allowed to play this song on Rainbow and Sudden Death
(one misstep will fail you).

UNLOCK: Get an A while playing this song as an Extra Stage.
OR: Get EX VIP Card on Stellar Joint NITRO.

Artist: DE-SIRE retunes
Genre: Techno
BPM: 170

Difficulty:
   Sgl Dbl
BEG: 4
BAS: 9   9
DIF: 9   9
EXP:10  10
CHA:10  10

Play Notes: The thing... about this song... that will really... tick you...
off is the... fact that it... stops... FORTY-TWO times.  Really, there's no
way to be warned about when each stop is coming because there are so many.
Just memorize it.  However, I can tell you that later in the song, you'll
see steps clustered together.  Those are all individual stops.

Expert Notes: Well, in the end, it's not all that bad.  Obviously, the
majority of the difficulty is in the stops.  The actual steps would be
maybe a low-end 9 if there were no stops and it was just straight.  Streams
with a few crossovers, some gallops, and some sixteenths.

Challenge Notes: Only quite a bit more difficult at the end.  There is an
increase of difficulty, as the sixteenth runs get longer, and they put
jumps in them, of all things.  Gallops, streams, and the end after the
last stop is one big sixteenth run, so look out.

9. STELLAR MASTER MODE
******************************************************************************

It's everyone's dream to be a Stellar Master, and PiX is gonna take you
there.  This is the new Dance Master Mode, and it's been overhauled to make
it more accessible to beginners, and allow them to get the songs just as
masters would be able to.

---

Stellar Joints

This is how all the challenges are grouped.  Each Joint has a set of
challenges for you to complete, each with their own set of songs and styles.
Select a Joint and you'll be taken to the next part.

---

Trials

In order to get further in a Stellar Joint, you need to complete Trials.
Once you begin your work on a Joint, you'll be given your list of songs, which
varies depending on the Joint.  You need to complete those songs a certain
way in order to pass the trials.  For instance, you may need to complete
a few songs with an A or better, or you may need to complete them with a
certain character in the background.  Completing trials will earn you
"charisma".  Note that you can potentially complete a song and fulfill
requirements for more than one trial at once.

---

Showdowns

Once you complete a certain number of trials, you'll begin to access the
Showdowns.  There are three Showdowns of ascending difficulty: the Showdown,
the EX Showdown, and the Diamond EX Showdown.  When you start a Showdown,
you'll be given specific "Drills", similar to the missions in Dance Master
Mode of DDR Extreme 2 or Mission Mode of DDR Extreme USA.  You need to
complete a certain number out of a certain number of attempts.  Some of
these drills will require you to perform in a certain manner, such as not
stepping on a certain arrow, or they'll give you some weird handicaps.

Complete Showdowns and you'll earn VIP Cards.  VIP Cards are used to unlock
new Stellar Joints.  Sadly, I don't have a fix on the exact formula, just
yet.

songs.  The "Hidden" trials do not appear until you complete them, and
it's not necessary to complete them to advance, but it may help to not have
to pass some other trial.

Drill PC-DEX1:
Song: CENTERFOLD (130 BPM move it remix)
Diff: DIF
Section: Middle section
Handicap: Up and right arrows are shifted down a beat.

two normally.  It'll take a bit.

Drill PC-DEX2:
Song: UNKNOWN (Feeding Time)

Challenge: Pass this drill.  There are only left and right arrows.  Only
slightly harder than the one in Pop Corn of the same style.

Drill GL-5:
Song: UNKNOWN (Feeding Time)

It's all sixteenths, and you just have to pass it.  Just hammer on the left

the left arrow appears to be ahead by a beat is actually a jump.

Drill GL-EX3:
Song: TIERRA BUENA
Diff: BAS

that means to break combo when you get close to 10.

seeing it later, and far worse.

Trial 1 - In RANDOM, complete 3 songs (BEG, BAS, OK)
Trial 2 - Complete 3 songs with A or better to win. (BEG, BAS, DIF, NG)
Trial 3 - Turn on "ARROW (RAINBOW)" in Options and complete 4 songs!
(ALL, OK)
Trial 4 - Turn on "JUMP (OFF1)" and "CUT (ON)" in Options and complete 5
songs! (EXP, CHA, OK)
Trial 5 - Get AA or better! (DIF, EXP, CHA, NG)
Trial 6 - Dance with a male character 3 times in a row and complete it!
(EXP, CHA, OK)

Hidden Trial 7 - Get AAA. (ALL, OK)

Notes: Again with the characters.  Note that Options are OK on Trial 6, so
you can have CUT and JUMP OFF 1 and you'll still get credit without damaging
yourself in the months it'll take you to get this trial done.  There IS a
way to make Trial 6 slightly less painful.  First, get one male character,
then play another song, if you don't get a guy, immediately press START and
SELECT to go back to the title, then go back into SMM and try again.  Your
progress will be saved, so you can try again for a guy.

EX Showdown (complete four trials)
Goal - 4/5 Drills

Drill RD-EX1:
Song: GORGEOUS 2012
Diff: BAS
Handicap: The Judgment Panel is lowered halfway down the screen.
Challenge: Pass this drill.

Drill RD-EX2:
Song: Love Is Dreaminess
Diff: BAS
Options: Fuwa Fuwa (Arrows jump up and down the screen)
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Don't be disturbed by Fuwa Fuwa.  This song
is still quite easy.  For most of it, you're stepping every two beats.  You
only start stepping quarters in the second half, and then, it's real obvious.

Drill RD-EX3:
Song: My Only Shining Star
Diff: BAS
Options: Brake (arrows slow as they approach the Judgment Panel)
Challenge: Pass this drill.  If you get the concept of Brake by now, this
shouldn't be hard at all.

Drill RD-EX4:
Song: PUT YOUR FAITH IN ME (SATURDAY NIGHT MIX)
Diff: BEG
Handicap: The up and down arrow panels are lowered a beat.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  This is a good drill to get used to this setup,
and you SHOULD get used to this setup.

Drill RD-EX5:
Song: INNOCENCE OF SILENCE
Diff: BAS
Section: The slow section.
Handicap: All arrows are in one column.
Challenge: Get a full combo.  Looks daunting until you realize that it's the
slow part.

Drill RD-EX6:
Song: murmur twins
Diff: BAS
Challenge: Do not step on any up arrows during this drill.

Drill RD-EX7:
Song: Turn On the Music (Axwell Radio Edit)
Diff: BAS
Options: x0.5
Challenge: Pass with a B or better.  Should be a snap, even with the slowdown.

---

Diamond EX Showdown (complete six trials)
Goal - 4/5 Drills

Drill RD-DEX1:
Song: murmur twins
Diff: DIF
Options: Dark
Handicap: The Judgment Panel is lowered half the screen.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Of course, you won't NOTICE that the Panel's
moved until you start getting Boos all over the place.  The Panel is about
where the combo marker appears.

Drill RD-DEX2:
Song: COME CLEAN
Diff: DIF
Handicap: The right arrow is lowered a beat.
Challenge: Get at least an A on this drill.  Be VERY careful, because there
are small streams to deal with, plenty of jumps, and freezes.  You're gonna
have to learn to read that setup darn quick, or you'll fail getting an A.

Drill RD-DEX3:
Song: INNOCENCE OF SILENCE
Diff: DIF
Challenge: Do not get a combo of 10 or more throughout this play.  It's a
bit tricky, since you have to watch both the arrows and the counter.  You
may wish to try a "Good Attack", getting as many of those as you can.  At
the latter half of the song, you can just step the quarter notes (avoiding
the odd eighth note) and you should be fine for the rest of the song.

Drill RD-DEX4:
Song: Fly away -mix del matador-
Diff: EXP
Options: Bird Arrow
Challenge: Get a maximum combo of at least 30.  The only real problem you'll
have to deal with is the unfamiliar arrows, and the fact that you most
likely haven't played this song, yet.  Technically, passing it may be more
difficult than getting the required 30 combo.

Drill RD-DEX5:
Song: Star Gate Heaven (FUTURE LOVE Mix)
Diff: DIF
Handicap: The left arrow has Boost on, but the rest of the arrows are
normal.
Challenge: Get at least a C on this drill.  Well, this is new.  It'll take
some time to get used to it, but a seasoned player should have no problem
with the C threshold.

Drill RD-DEX6:
Song: UNKNOWN (Feeding Time)
Challenge: Get a maximum combo of at least 40.  This drill is just alternating
sixteenth notes on the left and right arrows.  It's not easy to maintaing
such a pattern for 40 steps, but it is possible.

Drill RD-DEX7:
Song: Mugen
Diff: DIF
Options: x2, Rainbow
Challenge: "Step on spots where there are no arrows" is broken down like
so: wherever there's an arrow in the normal stepchart, you'll see a blank,
and arrows instead where aren't supposed to be any (sets of three or two).
Basically, you have to step on the white space in those sets.  For instance,
if you see a down-up-right set, you step on left.  If you see a left-up-right
set, you step on down.  If you see an up-down set, you jump on both left
and right.  It's interesting practice on reading negative space.  I just
wish it wasn't on x2.  Phew.

Drill RD-DEX8:
Song: Ska Ska No. 3
Diff: DIF
Handicap: The right arrow is lowered a beat.
Challenge: Get at least a B on this drill.  This one's the easier of the
two drills like this, both in the actual steps, and the score you need.

Trial 6 - Complete 3 songs with A or better (DIF, EXP, CHA, NG)
Trial 7 - Complete with a final score that ends in 70. (ALL, OK)
Trial 8 - Turn on "SPEED (x5)" only in Options and complete 5 songs!
(EXP, CHA, OK)

Hidden Trial 9 - In RANDOM, complete 3 times in a row. (ALL, OK)

Note: Several people on the GFAQs message boards point out good ways to get
an ending score of 70.  CURUS Beginner is probably the best.  58 PERFECTs
and no GREATs will get it for you, as will 78 PERFECTs and 1 GREAT.
Naturally, you can split those up in your head, too.  For example, 56
PERFECTs and 4 GREATs will also work.

Note: For Trials 5 and 8 (especially 8), there's always the "cheating" route:
plug a second controller in, DON'T set the options on it, and just play
watching Player 2 instead of yourself.  Alternatively, just get the hidden
trial.

Song: UNKNOWN (DDRMAX2 Select)
Challenge: Get a full combo.  This is just a simple drill testing your

EX Showdown (complete five trials)
Goal - 4/5 Drills

Drill VE-EX1:
Song: Flow (true style)
Diff: BAS
Handicap: Left arrow is on Hidden.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Just watch the lower corner of the screen for
the left arrows.

Drill VE-EX2:
Song: CENTAUR
Diff: BAS
Challenge: Get MARVELOUS 50 or more times.  CENTAUR on Basic has over 120
steps, so there are plenty of opportunities.  Just don't let the weird
setup of CENTAUR throw you.

Drill VE-EX3:
Song: Robogirl
Diff: DIF
Handicap: Up and down arrows are on Sudden.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Once you notice the Sudden thing, this shouldn't
be too bad, not as bad as other handicap drills, anyway.

Drill VE-EX4:
Song: Baby's Tears
Diff: BAS
Section: A small mid-section.
Challenge: Find the invisible arrow and do a full combo.  The invisible arrow
is an up arrow between a down and a left, about eight steps in.

Drill VE-EX5:
Song: CURUS
Diff: DIF
Handicap: The downbeat of every measure has a Boosted arrow.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  This shouldn't be too hard, if you're familiar
with Boost.

Drill VE-EX6:
Song: Star Gate Heaven
Diff: BAS
Options: Hidden, Sudden
Challenge: Pass this drill.  With both turned on, you'll only see the arrows
for a little bit in the middle.

---

Diamond EX Showdown (complete eight trials)
Goal - 4/5 Drills

Drill VE-DEX1:
Song: rainbow rainbow
Diff: DIF
Handicap: Up and right arrows are lowered a beat.
Challenge: Get at least an A on this drill.  You better be used to this by
now, because it's only gonna get worse.

Drill VE-DEX2:
Song: Love Is Dreaminess
Diff: BAS
Handicap: Left arrow is lowered three beats, down arrow is lowered two
beats, up arrow is lowered one beat.
Challenge: Get at least a C on this drill.  In this "diagonal" setup, you'll
have a fun time trying to figure out where everything is.

Drill VE-DEX3:
Song: Flow (true style)
Diff: DIF
Section: Just before a tempo pickup.
Challenge: Get PERFECT on all arrows.  It's only twelve steps, but the fact
that you start on the off-beat, and hit the tempo pickup right after doesn't
help.  Just practice.  It's easier than you think.

Drill VE-DEX4:
Song: rainbow rainbow
Diff: EXP
Challenge: "Simon Says" style.  Get a 45 combo within 30 seconds.  Talk about
velocity, eh?

Drill VE-DEX5:
Song: The Least 100sec
Diff: BAS
Options: Stealth
Challenge: Get a full combo on this drill.  With Stealth on, you'll have to
memorize the first five steps.  The steps are: Right (on the downbeat), then
up, up (second and fourth beats in the NEXT measure), then immediately to
a right, then down a half note later.
Or to put it another way:
>...|.^.^|>.v.
where every "|" is a measure marker.  The hard part is hitting the downbeat,
then the next note, which is at the end of the first piano phrase.

Drill VE-DEX6:
Song: Star Gate Heaven
Diff: EXP
Options: Vic Viper Arrow
Challenge: Pass this drill.
Reward: Vic Viper Arrow (5000)

Drill VE-DEX7:
Song: Baile Le Samba
Diff: EXP
Handicap: The Judgment Panel is halfway down the screen.
Challenge: Pass this drill.

Challenge: Get at least a B on this drill.  It's just left, down, and right.
More cake.

Drill TH-3:
Song: Tino's White Horse
Diff: BEG
Section: Majority of the song
Handicap: The down and up arrows are lowered one beat.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  If this is your first time on this kind of
drill, don't panic.  Just envision for yourself two separate step charts,
one for each height of arrow.  Remember, too, that songs on Beginnner don't
have more than one step in a different direction at once.

Drill TH-4:
Song: UNKNOWN (FESTIVAL WITH YOU)
Challenge: Get at least a B on this drill.  Freeze arrows have been added

Diamond EX Showdown (complete eight trials)
Goal - 4/5 Drills

Drill TH-DEX1:
Song: Baby's Tears
Diff: DIF
Handicap: Left and up arrows lowered a beat.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  This is harder than before, due to the streams
and offbeat notes.

Drill TH-DEX2:
Song: Star Gate Heaven (FUTURE LOVE Mix)
Diff: BAS
Handicap: Left arrow has Sudden, all other arrows have Hidden.
Challenge: Get at least a AA on this drill.  Good luck generating the chart
in your head from the odd appearance factor, here.  At least be happy there
are no eighths and few jumps.

Drill TH-DEX3:
Song: Mugen
Diff: EXP
Section: Small piece near the end.
Handicap: The right arrow is lowered a beat.
Challenge: Get at least a B on this drill.  This is much harder than the ones
like this up to this point.  Jumps, off-beat steps, freezes.  You have your ]
work cut out for you.  On my first try, I JUST made it over 6.5 mill.

Drill TH-DEX4:
Song: JERK IT OUT
Diff: EXP
Challenge: Get a combo of no greater than 12.  This is tough, and there are
two ways to do it, neither of them easy.  Either watch your combos very
closely and jump off at the twelfth step, or try for a Good Attack, getting
as many Goods as possible to keep your combo down, without dying.

Options: Boost, Horse Arrow
Challenge: Pass this drill.
Reward: Horse Arrow (5000)

Diff: DIF
Options: x1.5, Reverse
Challenge: Pass this drill.  This is probably the most difficult challenge
up to now, due to the options, the fact that you've probably not played this,
yet, and that it's a freakin' boss song.  Furthermore, this is ALWAYS the
last drill on this Showdown, so get good at the others and get four in a row

Diff: BAS
Challenge: "Step on spots where there are no arrows" is broken down like
so: wherever there's an arrow in the normal stepchart, you'll see a blank,
and arrows instead where aren't supposed to be any (sets of three or two).
Basically, you have to step on the white space in those sets.  For instance,
if you see a down-up-right set, you step on left.  If you see a left-up-right
set, you step on down.  If you see an up-down set, you jump on both left
and right.  It's interesting practice on reading negative space.

Drill PH-EX2:
Song: Hit 'n' Slap
Diff: BAS
Options: x0.25
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Mighty slow moving, but not too hard on Basic.

Drill PH-EX3:
Song: No.13
Diff: DIF
Section: A short part at the beginning.
Challenge: There's an invisible arrow, and you have to find it and get a
full (11) combo.  It's just after the sixth arrow, and it's a left arrow,
between the up and down.

Drill PH-EX4:
Song: MOON
Diff: DIF
Challenge: Pass this drill with no more than a 7 combo.  Well, it's not
hard to count to six, so I suggest doing that, then missing the seventh
step.

Drill PH-EX5:
Song: UNKNOWN (Little Princess)
Options: Hidden, Sudden
Challenge: You're dealing with mostly jumps here, and a couple single steps.
The chain isn't long, so this shouldn't be too hard.

Drill PH-EX6:
Song: AA
Diff: DIF
Handicap: The Judgment Panel is dropped half the screen.
Challenge: Shouldn't be too hard, despite the impromptu Sudden.

Drill PH-EX7:
Song: Healing-D-Vision
Diff: DIF
Options: x1.5, Reverse
Challenge: Once again, this is always the last drill.  Difficult has some
nasty jumps and runs in it, so good luck.

Diamond EX Showdown (complete nine trials)
Goal - 4/5 Drills

Drill PH-DEX1:
Song: No.13
Diff: EXP
Section: Short section at the beginning
Challenge: Pass this drill.  This is a weird one.  Kinda easy, if you're
familiar with the Expert difficulty.  The last up arrow is Boosted, for
some weird reason.

Drill PH-DEX2:
Song: Brazilian Anthem
Diff: EXP
Section: Near the end
Handicap: Up and right arrows are lowered a beat.
Challenge: Just pass the drill.  The lowered arrows make the streams a pain,
but this shouldn't be too hard.

Drill PH-DEX3:
Song: Flow (Jammin' Ragga Mix)
Diff: EXP
Section: About thirty seconds of the opening.
Challenge: Pass this without stepping on down or right arrows.  The missing
arrows will count against you, so keep your PERFECTs up, and remember that
jumps do not count, so jump all you want.

Drill PH-DEX4:
Song: MATSURI (J-SUMMER MIX)
Diff: EXP
Section: About thirty seconds to the end.
Options: x0.25
Challenge: Tough to see, but if you just muck through it, you should manage.

Drill PH-DEX5:
Song: HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH (German Election Mix)
Diff: DIF
Section: First half of the song.
Handicap: Left and right arrows are flipped.
Challenge: Could be a pain having to reorient yourself, especially with the
jumps and streams.

Drill PH-DEX6:
Song: Hit 'n' Slap
Diff: DIF
Options: Small Arrow
Challenge: Shouldn't be an issue, if you remember what arrow's what.
Reward: Small Arrow (4000)

Drill PH-DEX7:
Song: Healing-D-Vision
Diff: EXP
Challenge: You need to hit only one arrow in this mess: the 100th arrow, and
get it PERFECT.  It's kinda tough to count on the fly, so I'll tell you
right now that it's about halfway through the 23rd measure of the song, and
it's a DOWN arrow (the first of a set of two).  Since there are no measure
markers while you play, I'll give you a music cue, as well.  After the
starting melody, the song breaks down into a running rhythm, and the steps
look like lower semicircle gallops (right, right-down, down-left, left-down,
etc.)  On the SECOND phrase of that, you'll find your arrow, about halfway
through the phrase.  It's a lot easier to wait until you unlock HDV, can
look at it in Training, and count for yourself.

Drill PH-DEX8:
Song: Healing-D-Vision
Diff: CHA
Options: x1.5, Reverse
Challenge: Hey, a pattern.  It's pretty obvious by now, but I'll mention
it again: always the last drill.  Good luck, man.

Drill NI-DEX5:
Song: MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix)

Trial 2 - Play with PiX. (ALL, OK)
Trial 3 - Select with the roulette a song with a max BPM of 180 or less and
complete it. (ALL, OK)

Trial 8 - Complete 3 songs with AA or better. (EXP, CHA, OK)
Trial 9 - Turn on "SPEED (x1.5)" and "SCROLL (REVERSE)" only in Options and
complete Foot Rate 10! (EXP, CHA, OK)
Trial 10 - Complete 3 songs in Challenge. (CHA, NG)

Hidden Trial 11 - Complete all songs. (ALL, OK) NOTE: All songs on all
difficulties will get you this one.  The only you'd probably need this one
in lieu of is Trial 8.  Further, this challenge will not be available until
after some "play time" has passed in this joint.

Notes: Well...  Trial 3 is best done with Xepher.  "Foot Rate 10" means a
difficulty of ten feet.  Trials 8 and 10 will most likely be your hardest
ones, not that ANY of these are easy.  Remember, you can't just complete
the same song twice and expect to get two points in the trial.  For instance,
on Trial 8, you have to complete 3 DIFFERENT songs with AA or better, and
switching difficulties from Expert to Challenge doesn't count.

Showdown (complete three trials)
Goal - 3/5 Drills

Drill TL-1:
Song: HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH (German Election Mix)

Challenge: Hit the one up arrow in this drill perfect.  Just keep tapping
up on the beat until you hit it.

Drill TL-3:

but you have to hit them all.

credits.  Don't think you're done, though.

EX Showdown (complete six trials)
Goal - 3/5 Drills

Drill TL-EX1:
Song: UNKNOWN (Bamboo Village 1)
Challenge: Get a full combo on this drill.  You're dealing with crossovers
in this one.  Assuming you got this far, this should be pretty easy.

Drill TL-EX2:
Song: Robogirl
Diff: DIF
Handicap: Downbeats move at x1.  All other arrows move at x0.5.
Challenge: Get at least an A on this drill.  By "downbeats", I mean the first
beat to a measure, which means that several arrows will be moving at
different speeds.  It can get messy.

Drill TL-EX3:
Song: HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH (German Election Mix)
Diff: BAS
Section: First 3/4ths of the song.
Handicap: Left arrow is lowered three beats, down arrow two, up arrow one.
Challenge: Pass this drill.

Drill TL-EX4:
Song: UNKNOWN (MY ROOM COMPLETE)

gallops.  Again, like EX1, it should be easy if you've come this far.

Options: x1.5, Reverse
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Always the fourth drill.

Drill TL-EX6:

Diamond EX Showdown (complete ten trials and all VIP Cards)
Goal - 3/5 Drills

NOTE: This Showdown will not appear until you get ALL other VIP Cards, EX,
and Diamond EX.  If you do so AFTER completing all ten trials, just go back
into THE LAST, complete a song, and it'll tell you that the DEX Showdown
is unlocked.

Drill TL-DEX1:
Song: UNKNOWN (Feeding Time)
Challenge: Endure this massive "left-right" sixteenth cluster for 60 seconds.
How many complaints do you think Konami will be getting about this one?

Drill TL-DEX2:
Song: MIDNIGHT SPECIAL
Diff: EXP
Handicap: Downbeats are boosted.  All other steps are normal.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Much like in the EX Showdown, the steps on the
downbeat of a measure are faster.  It's obviously harder on Expert.

Drill TL-DEX3:
Song: MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix)
Diff: BAS
Options: x2
Challenge: Step on the negative space where there are arrows.  If you've
done the EX or DEX showdowns before, you'll have seen this.

Drill TL-DEX4:
Song: CURUS
Diff: EXP
Handicap: Down arrow is lowered one beat, up arrow two, right arrow three.
Challenge: My greatest problem with this one was that I was used to the
diagonal going the other way.  Being on Expert is no help, either.

Drill TL-DEX5:
Song: CHAOS
Diff: CHA
Options: x1.5, Reverse
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Always the fourth drill.

9L. PIZZA BOX =
===============

Well, PiX does like pizza.

Available Songs: ALL

Trial 1 - Get AAA. (EXP, CHA, NG)
Trial 2 - Complete all songs and score 8.5 million points or more.
(EXP, CHA, NG)
Trial 3 - Get AA or better on all songs on one difficulty level.
(BAS, DIF, EXP, OK)
Trial 4 - Turn on "APPEARANCE (STEALTH)" only in Options and complete
a song. (BAS, DIF, EXP, CHA, OK)
Trial 5 - Complete with a final score that ends in 777.
(BAS, DIF, EXP, CHA, OK)
Trial 6 - Get AAA on all songs in red. (BAS, DIF, EXP, CHA, NG)
Trial 7 - Complete 3 consecutive songs with PiX in the same color outfit.
(ALL, OK)
Trial 8 - Turn on "SPEED (x8)" and "BOOST (ON)" only in Options and complete
3 songs. (BAS, DIF, EXP, CHA, OK)

Hidden Trial 9 - Turn on "SCROLL (REVERSE)" and "SPEED (x1.5)" only in
Options and complete Fascination MAXX. (CHA, OK)
Hidden Trial 10 - Get a full combo on CHAOS. (CHA, NG)

NOTES: Okay, Trials 4 and 8 can be completed by simple cheating: have two
players active, and only turn the options on for one, following the other
chart.  Trial 7 is much like any other character-related trial: If you don't
get what you want, press START and SELECT to reset and try again until you
do.  Since all the characters on this Joint are PiX, it's not as hard as
you'd think.  Trials 2 and 3 are exceedingly time-consuming, but quite
doable.  As for Trial 5, the magic song for this is "Girls Just Wanna Have
Fun" on BASIC.  Keep getting PERFECTs and an even number of GREATs, but get
a Boo every so often to keep your score down.  After a while, you will hit
7777777.  Stop at that point, maybe getting a GOOD or two to keep from
bottoming out.

Showdown (complete one trial)
Goal - 2/3 Drills

NOTE: This is the only regular Showdown that does not progress in numerical
order.

Drill PB-1:
Song: UNKNOWN (Feeding Time)
Challenge: Remember that left-right giant sixteenth cluster?  Yup, it's back.
Now?  Just complete it.  The whole dang thing.  639 steps.  Send Konami your
med bills.

Drill PB-2:
Song: Fascination MAXX
Diff: DIF
Options: x0.5
Handicap: Music is turned off.
Challenge: Get a full combo on this.  This wouldn't be all that hard if it
weren't for the speed changes and stops, which you'd have to memorize.

Drill PB-3:
Song: iFUTURELIST (DDR VERSION)
Diff: CHA
Options: Small Arrow, Hidden, Sudden
Challenge: Pass this drill.  With the mini arrows and only seeing them for a
small time, best of luck to you.

Drill PB-4:
Song: MAX 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix)
Diff: CHA
Challenge: This is the last "Simon Says" style setup.  You have to step all
the steps on this song before it ends.  Even with a controller, this one
hurts.

Drill PB-5:
Song: MIDNIGHT SPECIAL
Diff: BAS
Handicap: Left arrow is lowered six beats, down arrow four, up arrow two.
Challenge: Get a full combo on this drill.  Since the left arrow is more or
less eclipsed by your score bar, there might be some memorization involved
for this one.

Rewards:
Character: PIZZA BOX PiX (20000)
Stage: PIZZA BOX (20000)

---

EX Showdown (complete two trials)
Goal - 2/3 Drills

Drill PB-EX1:
Song: Flow (true style)
Diff: CHA
Handicap: Every quarter note is boosted.  Offbeats are at normal speed.
Challenge: Get at least an A on this drill.  It's not too hard to pass if you
fudge it, but you need to get the 8.1 million mark.

Drill PB-EX2:
Song: DoLL
Diff: DIF
Handicap: Left arrow has Fuwa Fuwa.  Down arrow has x0.5.  Up arrow is
normal.  Right arrow is Boosted.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Out of all the ones in this Showdown, this is
probably the easiest.

Drill PB-EX3:
Song: Xepher
Diff: CHA
Options: Tiny Arrow
Challenge: Pass this drill.  You've had this before, only now it's on
Challenge instead of Expert, AND the video is now playing, further obscuring
your vision.

Drill PB-EX4:
Song: Knock Out Regrets
Diff: EXP
Handicap: Left arrow is lowered three beats, down arrow two, up arrow one.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Wouldn't be so bad if the song weren't so full
of streams.

Drill PB-EX5:
Song: Baile Le Samba
Diff: EXP
Options: x8, Boost, Dark
Challenge: Get 120 MARVELOUS steps in this drill.  Well, what to say about
this one, eh?

Drill PB-EX6:
Song: DoLL
Diff: CHA
Challenge: Pass this drill without getting a combo of 7.  Naturally, you'll
have to miss stuff all over the place, while still surviving to the end.

Drill PB-EX7:
Song: Fascination MAXX
Diff: EXP
Options: x1.5, Reverse
Challenge: Pass this drill.  Didn't we do this one already?

Drill PB-EX8:
Song: SINCE U BEEN GONE
Diff: EXP
Options: x5
Handicap: Left arrow is on Sudden, all others are on Hidden.
Challenge: Get at least an A on this drill.  Like EX1, it's easy to fudge your
way through, but hard to get the score required for an A.  This was one of
the ones I passed to get my card.

Diamond EX Showdown (complete three trials)
Goal - 1/3 Drills

Drill PB-DEX1:
Song: No.13
Diff: EXP
Handicap: Left arrow is lowered three beats, down arrow two, up arrow one.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  It's painful with the diagonal setup.

Drill PB-DEX2:
Song: RED ZONE
Diff: EXP
Handicap: Off-beat arrows are boosted.
Challenge: Get at least a AA on this drill.  Passing isn't too hard, but a
AA is a high profile mission.

Drill PB-DEX3:
Song: Healing-D-Vision
Diff: EXP
Challenge: Make sure you step on ALL down arrows with at least a GREAT or you
fail.

Drill PB-DEX4:
Song: FRECKLES (KCP Re-Edit)
Diff: EXP
Handicap: Left and right arrows are boosted.  Up and down are on Brake.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  The steps itself aren't difficult if you can
remember them, but don't even try to read it.

Drill PB-DEX5:
Song: Xepher
Diff: CHA
Handicap: The left and right arrows are on Fuwa Fuwa.
Challenge: Pass this drill.  It's a hard chart, made harder by the goofy
arrows.

Drill PB-DEX6:
Song: CURUS
Diff: EXP
Challenge: Step on the negative space where there's no arrows, like you've
been doing already.  This is likely the easiest one in the mess.

Drill PB-DEX7:
Song: Fascination -eternal love mix-
Diff: CHA
Options: x1.5, Reverse, Boost
Challenge: Pass this drill.  The hardest chart in existence, in a somewhat
extra stage mode.  Good luck.

Drill PB-DEX8:
Song: CHAOS
Diff: EXP
Options: x1.5, Reverse
Challenge: Get a full combo on this drill.

Aaaand once you pass this one, that's it.  You've finished Stellar Master
Mode!  You don't get much for it.  I think you get 10000 Shop Points for
getting VIP Cards here, but don't quote me on it.

10. ADVANCED MODE
******************************************************************************

These are the more difficult modes of play.  At the outset, only "Course" and
"Battle" are available to you, and you'll need to unlock the other options
through Stellar Master Mode.

==================
10A. Course Mode =
==================

This is a combination of the old Nonstop and Oni modes of play.  You begin by
selecting your style and character.  After that, you select the "Meter":

Normal: Standard Dance Meter.  This is the "Nonstop" play, where you just go
through the songs all at once.

Challenge: Battery Dance Meter.  Step anything but a MARVELOUS, PERFECT,
GREAT, or OK and you lose one of your four lives.  Lose all four and it's
game over.  After passing a song, you gain back all lives you lost.  This is
the "Oni" style of play.

After that, you'll select your course.  There is only one difficulty for each
course (as opposed to two in previous games), and you can select options for
the course as well, if the course allows it.  Scoring is done in a similar
manner to normal, only MARVELOUS steps and OKs are worth full credit, PERFECT
steps are 2/3rds credit, and GREAT steps are 1/3rd credit.

At the end of your play, your score is ranked next to the maximum possible
score.  If playing on "Normal" meter, you'll be letter-graded as normal.  If
playing on "Challenge" meter, you get a percentage-based score.

Also available is a "Create Your Own Course".  You may create ten of your
own courses using the "ORDER" slots.  They all start at RANDOM and four songs
long on Standard, but you can change any of these attributes, including
options in each of the songs.

==================
10B. Battle Mode =
==================

This is a new cool two-player mode where you go up against either a human or
computer opponent and play songs.  While you play, you build up an "attack"
meter.  Once that's full, an "attack" is unleashed on your opponent.

These attacks include (but are not limited to) turning on any of the Song
Options (speed multipliers, Hidden, Sudden, Dark, etc.), moving arrows to
different spots on the Judgment Panel, lowering arrows on the Judgement Panel.

Also, "Shuffle" is automatically turned on, and each player plays a different
type of stepchart, so you can't just watch the other player's display if your
chart gets too hard to read.

The person with the highest score at the end of the song is the winner, natch.

===================
10C. Endless Mode =
===================

To unlock this mode, you must purchase all locked songs from the Shop.

The object of this mode is to play for as long as possible on a standard Dance
Meter.

You'll begin by selecting your style.  Only Single and Double plays are
available for this mode.  After that, you'll make your Endless Settings:

Step: Select your difficulty - Beginner, Light, Standard, Heavy, or Random.
Break Stage: Set a break stage after a certain number of songs.
Select Options: Pick your step options as you would in normal play.
Music Program: Set your program of songs that you wish to play, if you wish
to only include or disclude particular songs.

====================
10D. Survival Mode =
====================

To unlock this mode, you must purchase all locked songs from the Shop.

This mode is similar to Endless Mode, only instead of a Dance Meter, you have
a Challenge Meter with four lives.  You'll still be able to select style
(Single or Double) and your difficulty (Beginner, Light, Standard, Heavy,
or All).

So, just ignore that gigantic clock in the middle of the screen.

===========================
10E. Combo Challenge Mode =
===========================

To unlock this mode, you must purchase all locked songs from the Shop.

This mode is similar to Endless Mode, only instead of a Dance Meter, you have
to keep a combo running.  As soon as you break combo, the game's over.  You'll
still be able to select style (Single or Double) and your difficulty
(Beginner, Light, Standard, Heavy, or All).

And, for your reference, you have a gigantic combo meter in the center of the
screen.

******************************************************************************
11. OTHER MODES
******************************************************************************

Here are the rest of the game modes.

===================
11A. Workout Mode =
===================

This mode allows you to observe the calories melting away as you dance.

---

Workout Setting

Weight: Set this and the amount of calories burned will be slightly changed
to reflect your weight.

Menu: Set to "Play Time" to play a specific amount of time.  Set to "Calories
Burned" and you'll play until you reach that number of calories.  Set to
"Program" and you can set your own workout course (like a Nonstop).  "No
Setting" will let you have no restrictions.

Goal: Set to minutes if "Play Time" is on Menu, and to a calorie amount if
"Calories Burned is on Menu.

Workout Step: With this on, the steps will be set to "Little".

Simultaneous Step: Turning this off will remove jumps.

Program: Select Free to have the normal song list, or Course to access some
preset courses the game gives you, or courses you can order yourself.

---

Workout Results

After every song (or at the end of your program), you'll see a Workout Results
screen where you can see your calorie-related results.  Press Circle to see
them charted in relation to other day's workouts.

====================
11B. Training Mode =
====================

Select this to pick songs and tackle them on your own terms.  Start by
selecting a song, then you'll go to the menu screen, where you can select the
mode (Single, Versus, Double), its difficulty, any song options you want (as
detailed in the How To Dance section far above), and you may put in any Edit
Data you wish.

In addition (unlike other modes of gameplay), you can set Assist, which
allows you to play with any combination of the music, a metronome (which
marks standard quarter note beats), and a handclap (which claps whenever
there's an arrow).

Also, you can set the "Music Speed".  Unlike the song option called Speed,
this actually changes how fast the song goes.  It's good for taking fast
songs at speeds you can manage.  Adjusting this to a lower amount will
automatically turn off the music, so you'll need to set the metronome or
handclap on if you want something in the background.

Finally, you can set what measure the song begins and ends.  The "Start"
function below it will allow you to quickly change between the measures you
select and the whole song.

================
11C. Edit Mode =
================

Well, I'm not gonna go through all the possibilities that Edit Mode offers
here.  Honestly, if you're serious about Editing, you'll probably know to
read the instructions on this one.  Seriously, there's too much info about it
for me to justify making a section for it.

******************************************************************************
12. ONLINE MODE
******************************************************************************

Yep.  Still don't have a broadband adapter for my PS2.  I MAY get one now,
knowing that there are songs that you can only play online.  Of course, I
still would have to get a gaming router, but all the new systems are gonna
need one to be fully played, so it's just a matter of time, eh?

******************************************************************************
13. SHOP
******************************************************************************

Okay.  EVERYTHING unlockable in this game has to come through here.  It's not
enough just to trigger the unlock.  You'll need the requisite number of
Shop Points to actually be able to use it.

=========================
13A. Shop Point Formula =
=========================

Okay, every song you play starts you with a base amount of Shop Points.  How
you step changes the amount of points you have, and when you finish the song,
the Shop Points you've earned are put into your main "account".  While you
can be reduced to 0 points in a song, you can never reduce the amount in
your account just through play.

How many points you start with and can earn are based on the step difficulty
you choose, and the foot rating difficulty.

14B. E-mail Guidelines =
========================

If you wish to e-mail me, be sure to follow these guidelines:

- Make ABSOLUTELY sure I haven't already answered your question in the guide.
- Make sure it has something to do with DDR SuperNOVA.  I don't want spam,
chain letters, offers for friendship.  Don't bother me with info on other DDR
games, really.  I keep my ear pretty close to the ground about such things,
and I'll probably know about it before you.  Compliment me on the FAQ all you
want, though.
- Make sure you say "DDR SuperNOVA" at one point in your e-mail.  I have more
than one DDR FAQ, and I can't always figure the question out without
specifying what game you're asking about.
- Asking how to beat a song will result in a deletion.  There really are no
tips to offer for DDR'ing besides what I have in my section.  It has to come
from your own skill and desire to pass.
- Spell correctly and use proper grammar, please.  If I can't understand
your e-mail, it'll go to the junk pile.

======================

Version 0.7 - (10/02/06) - Yeah, I know I have a lot of holes.  Working on it.

Version 0.8 - (10/05/06) - Filled several of those holes.  Finished Twin
Hearts in SMM.

Version 0.85 - (10/24/06) - Yeah, I'm real sorry about this, folks.  Okami,

SMM.

Version 0.9 - (11/06/06) - Okay.  Almost done Stellar Master Mode.  All I need
is the DEX Showdown.  I've also added a bunch of courses.
