Basics, Initial & Controls
Hello! This is my guide with a lot of effort and a day complete in the
computer. I hope that you can give a very good use to this. I'm Chilean from
Chile, and is my first guide and i need to practice the english many more.
This game, Dance Dance Revolution Strike is the eleventh home version of
Dance Dance Revolution in Japan. It was released on February 16, 2006, for
the Sony PlayStation 2 video game system by Konami. It features over 50
songs, most of which derive from the North American Ultramix series. This mix
uses the same engine and looks as Extreme 2 US. On the same day, a soundtrack
was released by Toshiba-EMI. It features all the songs from DDR STR!KE and
DDR Festival Dance Dance Revolution. Is same to the DDR Extreme 2, with many
changes from the songs, maybe are less than DDR Extreme 2, but many of this
songs in DDR Str!ke are very goods, others no, are horrible.
The Controls of the game includes the arrows buttons, circle, cross, square,
triangle buttons, and the select and start buttons.
Basically, You can play the songs with arrows and circle, cross, square and
triangle buttons. You use a Circle for accept and Cross for cancel, like many
other japanese games. Select + Start is the fast exit, may of you must know
this.
At the moment to pick a song, you meet the friendly Groove Radar, this is the
radiography of the song and it properties. This radar is composed from five
elements, and there are:
- Stream: From the total of steps in the song.
- Voltage: The number of steps in a determined time.
- Air: The Number of double steps in the song, thanks to God that no exists
triple steps -.-U...
- Freeze: The number of freeze steps and his longitude, mixed.
- Chaos: The number from Very advenced and rhytmical steps, like 1/8 or
1/16?, i believe that are four different velocities, red 1/1, blue 1/2,
yellow 1/4 and green 1/8 maybe, in order from more occuped in songs.
Also, in the game mode, you can intrude the options for a song, and this are:
- Speed, only for give more velocity.
- Boost, the arrows go faster.
- Appareance, for that...
- Turn, from change the place of the arrows or something like that, no more
or less, only in another place.
- Little, for play with basic arrows.
- Darkness, for quit the step mode.
- Double Steps, options for divide or eliminate this steps.
- Scroll, for the orientation of the arrows, the default is from down to up,
yep.
- Freeze arrows, only for quit them
- Step difficult?...why?
Part. 2 (MMPS)
Main Menu of Playing and so...
The principal menu from the game is the same like in the DDR Extreme 2, i
think so...
This is divided in:
- Dance Master Mode: The principal form to unlock all needed to buy, and this
is a big headache, because all of the instructions are in japanese.
- Free Play Mode: For playing songs unlocked and only that.
- Workout Mode: More knowed like the Diet Mode ¿This is real?
- Advanced Mode: Where you can play the other modes,and there are the
Endless, the Courses, the Combo Challenge and the Survival Mode. Ideal for
win Shop Points, where are available.
- Lesson Mode: The first step for Newcomers. It's in Japanese all, just
follow the arrows.
- Training Mode: For practice and you don't win Shop points. I never use it.
- Edit Mode: For your inventions and crazy ideas for songs...
- Online Play: You need a connection with internet and i don't know
anymore...
- Records: View all your victories and falls, including the courses and diet.
- Options: Must be same at DDR Extreme 2, i hope. This is divided in Sound
Options, Controller Settings, Save & Load, Game options, Graphic Options, and
Network Settings.
- Shop: Lose all from your shop points! You can buy, where are, new songs,
new color from dancers, new courses, new arrow forms, new hints and
information and modes from Advanced Mode.
- My Room: This must be called "Information", where are all from you can
achieved, and i think that are the credits... i don't remember that... is all
in japanese...

My, my, my. Me, Myself and I.
Finally, this is my presentation and credits.
I am Esteban Constanzo, a Drawer from Chile and a Fan from DDR series since
2001. My first DDR game was 5th Mix, and with the time i've played many songs
and more than 15 different games from PS1 and PS2.
Fan from Gamefaqs 4 years, maybe more, is a very useful page and is a direct
access from me.
That's all. I hope that you like this guide, i suppose this will be the
unique type that i will write. Maybe a guide from Dancing Stage Max, because
is same to this, and maybe a pic of the dance master map.
