I. Introduction
This is my first guide of any kind, so bear with me. Instead of
writing a whole walkthrough--although I still might try to do that--I
thought I 'd go and make a Boss FAQ, or Guide, first. I added the
Character Background just as a way to explore the story, and whom you 're
fighting; although by the time you get to a Boss you will probably know
who they are. If you missed a file or whatnot the info is here, but
paraphrased. However, as a result, this guide will contain information
found in the game--this won 't really be spoilers, as it doesn 't reveal
anything earth-shattering about the plot, but you may think of it that
way and, if you 're like me and read ahead, it might be ruined for you.
More spoiler-like is the inclusion of the events of some cutscenes
directly following Boss battles, and they are likely to contain spoilers
outright. So be forewarned.

Clock Tower 3 is a personal favourite of mine. I 've always liked
Survivor-Horror, like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Dino Crisis and Fatal
Frame, but this was a fresh game because of the lack of weapons. I have
not played any other Clock Tower installments other than these; so there
will be no comparing here. I am not a long-time fan of this cult hit,
but I am a new one now.

Clock Tower 3 is actually Clock Tower 4. The original Clock Tower
was a super famicon game called O Clock Tower: First Fear, ' but was
exclusive to Japan and never released in the States. This makes Clock
Tower 2 the real CT3. But...aw heck, let 's stick with CT3. Easier, yes?
CT3 has had the standard Clock Tower formula changed a bit for it;
differences from the other games include dropping the O point-and-click '
system of it 's predecessors,  and giving you a way to fight back at the
end of each level. Other than that, it 's still got the tone and
trademark of the series: a young girl must fight back against evil and
disturbing forces while trying to figure out what 's happened to the
world around her. This incapacity to retaliate, for the most part, is
what sets it apart from other Survival-Horror games. The tense situation
you find yourself in seems much more like what a normal person would
experience. It makes you focus on actual survival, avoiding fights you
can 't win, and strategizing how to escape and how to help others to the
best of your abilities.
Similarities to the other games in the series include the name of
the main character--CT2 's feminine hero was also named Alyssa (Hale, not
Hamilton. I believe it was either Yuu or Yutaka in the land of the
Rising Sun)--and a Scissor Man, although CT3 's is more of a flourishy,
insane eccentric instead of the depraved, menacing guy of the other
installments.

I discovered Clock Tower pretty much like I discover any other
game. Either A) having it catch my eye in a store or in Blockbuster, or
B) reading about it in EGM and checking it out. Once I start one I like,
I feel compelled to finish it. Anyway. That 's enough rambling from this
end, huh? On with the guide!

II. BATTLE MECHANICS
       A. Phrases and Attacks
Okay, first off, one thing to keep in mind about Boss battles is
to ALWAYS KEEP MOVING. If you 're not constantly running in the opposite
direction until an opportunity to hit your opponent with an arrow right
in the kisser arrives, then you can find yourself in deep doodie. Every
Boss will have minor attacks, like swinging his weapon at you or trying
to grab you, if you get too close. They can add up quickly if you 're
getting tripped up in the terrain. So try to effectively stay away, and
watch where you 're headed so Alyssa doesn 't get stuck behind a tombstone
or something (silly cow).

Even when you 're far away, they will have major, long-range
attacks, but these are usually your chance to pin them with an arrow.
The key to recognizing when they 're about to execute any special attack
is what they 're saying--every Subordinate (boss) has a few lines that he
says at these moments. For instance, if you hear Scissor Man say O I 've a
present for you! ', then you know he is about to come at you with some
energy beams, and to start charging an attack at the same time he is.
Depending on what Boss it is, the type of attack will vary, but with the
words comes something to watch out for.

B. 45 Degrees of Separation (Spacing Your Arrows)
Just pummeling your enemies with arrows until they fall backwards
is not very effective. Instead, you 're going to have to wait until
you 've stunned them somehow, then turn (you have auto-aim), hit the
attack button (whatever button you use for splashing bad guys in the
face with Holy Water. Default is Triangle), and wait. CHARGE THE ARROWS.
Do not just press Triangle, hold for a second, and let fly. Instead,
you 're going to have to wait for it to reach maximum potency, with, when
enemies are hit with it, will put them on an energy tether.
Wait until the arrow you 're charging has rays of light swirling
around the body,  or the long wooden part between point and end, then
release. If this isn 't working for you, count out ten seconds, then let
O er rip.
If it 's fully charged, the arrow will, as I said, create a sort of
energy leash when it hits home, restricting your foe 's movements. But
just doing this isn 't enough. You need to move 45 degrees in another
direction, charge another up to full, let her fly, and then do it once
more. Make sure not to fire once, move 45 degrees away, then just move
back to your original spot for the last shot. All three positions should
be in different spots. If this is done correctly, a divine heavenly
attack will finish them off (press triangle again when they are fully
bound; if Alyssa aims at the sky then you are done, and can let her
fire, ending the fight).
Some enemies you can just hack away at with arrow shots, not
binding them--and in one case, there is no other way--but in general
binding them is certainly the more desirable of the two.
One thing that is very important to note: save all your special
arrows--Binding and Repellent--for the end of the game. Trust me when I
say, O You 'll need them. '

III. Boss Guide
A. SLEDGEHAMMER
1. Boss Guide
There are some who call him the Hammerman. There are some who call
him Robert. And there are some who call him he-who-hates-the-wee-ones.
Anyway.

Okay, first off, this is important to keep in mind for ANY boss
battle--keep on the move! Never let him get too close, or he 's going to
take a nasty swipe at you. Stay as far away as you can, circling the
fountain and the courtyard. If he gets far enough away from you, and is
hobble-running in a straight line, then by all means charge an arrow for
as long as you can, and then let fire at him. Strong enough and it
should stun him momentarily; you may have time to fire another at him,
or even charge one up to full if you are quick.
But if you 're just barely staying out of harm 's way, then wait
until he says his special attack phrase. When you hear him say O Die! ',
he is going to strike the ground with his hammer. Hit the crouch button,
and the shockwaves that emanate from the point of impact won 't hurt you.
As soon as they fade away, stand up again and aim at him, charging up an
attack. He will stay where he is for a few moments, tired from his move,
so you will have enough time to hit him. Kapow! Whish! Zing!
Once he is bound, your life gets simpler. Just stay as far away as
you can from him. Instead of trying to attack you while in place, like
the latter bosses, he 'll spend most of his time panicking without moving
too much, so you can just move 45 degrees away and keep hitting him
until you open up a can of whoopass and unleash the final move.

2. Character Background
Robert Morris was a 32-year-old stonecutter at a Banbury factory,
when he was suddenly possessed by an Entity, or rather, a
malevolent force that sustains itself through human pain and which
infects people 's souls. Driven insane and filled with the lust for
suffering, he killed the five other workers present at his station
on June 6th, 1940, starting with Tony Flanagan, 35. He managed to
run and continued his murderous spree, claiming 12 victims, until
he was caught and arrested on March 6th, in Arleton, Hampshire. He
was hanged on the tenth of September,  '41, and witnesses reported
that he was squirming for an ungodly amount of time, blood seeping
from his neck while he struggled. (O Some fainted and had to be
carried out, ' is a quote from one of the fictional witnesses in a
news article you may find.) Of course, while possessed, even if
killed the Entity will resurrect it 's host that it can continue
killing. So at some point ol ' Robert must 've come back to life,
since his next wave of killings happen around Christmas Eve,  '42.
Generally players of the game think that Sledgehammer is the
scariest Subordinate, for a variety of reasons. Most include his
voice, his outfit, and the sheer crushing force and brutality of
his weapon.

B. CORRODER
1. Boss Guide
This strange fellow is not feeling the peace and love. Instead,
he 's feeling the psychotic rage.

This nasty bugger has a bevy of normal attacks. As before,
remember to keep on the move, or else an acid cloud (that 's
right...cloud. I have no idea) will find it 's mark. You can tell
when he 's going to release one from his spray nozzle when he
laughs O Haa, HAA! '
One tricky thing about this battle is the giant machine in the
center; you won 't be able to see through it--although, and this is
important, your arrows can pass through it, and essentially you 'll
just have to keep running around it, circling. If you get a hit on
Corroder, make sure to check which way he starts to run (watching
from as safe a distance as you can manage), so you don 't run
straight into him. Another thing to note is how much larger his
health bar is than Sledgehammer 's.
Okay now, he has only one long-range attack. When you hear him say
O There she is! ', he is going to aim a shot of steam at you which
goes clear across the room, so no matter how far away you are it
will hit you if you don 't run, so move from where you were, FAST.
Jag to the right or left sharply if you need to; that kind of
maneuvering will be a good skill to have. Unlike Sledgehammer, you
won 't be using this attack as your opportunity to stun him or get
a hit on him. Instead, Corroder has his own problems. When you
hear him say O Dammit! ', that means his spray nozzle has jammed,
and he 'll freeze for a second, shaking the rusty thing until it
works. It doesn 't matter where you are--your arrows will, like I
said, fly right through the machine in the center of the room and
nab him. Smashing. Don 't be afraid if you can 't see him; you
should have enough time to fully charge-up.
This is another important thing to keep in mind; since his health
bar is larger, one heavenly attack will not be enough to kill him.
Instead, whittle his health down with arrows before you bind him
for real. You can tether him once, than move just a few degrees
away and shoot, then back to your original position and fire
again, going on until he 's got about the same amount of health as
Sledgehammer had.
He can still attack you, even when pinned, though, so beware. If
you hear him say O There she is! ' forget what you 're doing and get
yourself out of there. You can charge again if he 's still bound
once the attack has soared, hopefully, right past you. Also, he 'll
keep doing his short-range attacks, and they 'll get you if you 're
too close.
When he 's hurt enough that you think you can pull off a full
binding attack, unleash your final move, and have him just die,
than go for it, remembering to stay far away so that none of his
attacks can touch you, and dodging if you need to. If he is still
alive after your Judgement Attack, then just hit him with arrows
until he falls at your feet.

2. Character Background
Good ol ' John. Just some random fellow who was possessed by an
Entity. Apparently he went about robbing people, then stuffing
them into vats or containers of sulfuric acid. Charming.
Because of the circumstances in which the bodies were found,
factories that used acid were put under surveillance. When he
appeared at one to, er, borrow some of it 's materials on May
11, 1962, the police jumped him. He tried to escape, the police
gave chase, and he lost his footing and fell into a large vat
of acid, ironically meeting the same fate as those he 'd killed.
But, since he was possessed, he came back to life, and went
about killing some more in  '63, until Alyssa (you) lay down the
law.
Now, just to be clear, the Entities are more or less a cohesive
force working to create more Subordinates (those possessed by
Entities), Entities, and cause more human suffering. Oh, and
fend off attacks from troublesome little school-girls...Rooders.
Corroder is considered second-scariest, generally. The design
of his level--dingy, dark and abandoned--helps a lot, but
also...well for God 's sake the man uses acid. I mean come on.

C. CHOPPER
1. Boss Guide A
This hairless albino has double axes, but only one O search '
phrase when you 're hiding. If I heard O Oh, nice trick! Guffaw
guffaw guffaw! ' once more, I was going to hit the power switch
for the entire building.

This is your first time against Chopper (you 'll be fighting him
again); and he is treating you as if you 're a girl scout asking
if he 'd like to buy some gingerbread, which is to say, taking
it easy on you. He moves pretty slowly, and he doesn 't throw
his axes at you. Take advantage of this--especially since you
have almost no room to maneuver! You can 't go up on the
balcony, and there 's that damn bloodied stump, tree, and
columned passageway to trip you up but good.
There 's not much to this first fight with him; basically, just
stay away from him and charge as best you can. His only attack
is the O normal ' attacks of the previous two bosses. If you get
too close, he 'll take that swipe, so keep running in circles.
There 's no way to stun him, except to charge an arrow about two
thirds up and then hit him--it 'll knock him back momentarily.
So basically just try to get far enough way, then turn, and
keep pummeling him, trying to charge. Remember that the terrain
is going to make life hard for you; this battle would be a
complete snap otherwise.
Notice his health bar; one final attack won 't be enough to kill
him, so whittle it down, like you did Corrodor!

--The end of...you?--
But--curses! Before you can deliver the final blow, Chopper
breaks free and you are dragged down into the inky black puddle
he creates! Telling you that you are going to join the rest, he
leaves you screaming and walks away...

2. Boss Guide B
This is the guy that killed your mother and your long-dead
brethren. Time to show him who 's the organ grinder and who 's
the monkey here!

Oh, great. Lots of stuff to trip on here. Thanks a lot,
sisters. Anyway;
Chopper is going to move faster than last time, but you can
still run for it. The best idea is to run in a large circle,
looping the graveyard, basically. If you stun him at any point-
-but not long enough to charge a pinnin ' shot--then he will cut
across right to you, however, so beware. Of course he has the
normal attacks...if he catches up to you he 'll take a swing at
ya, but it 's nothing you can 't avoid if you pay attention. If
you think you 're too close when he raises his arms to bring his
axes down in a vertical strike, turn the side sharply.
The main way you can stun him in this fight...no, scratch that,
pretty much the only way...is to wait until he says O Catch! ' He
is going to throw his axe at you, but don 't be scared. As soon
as he says it, turn and begin charging. When the axe gets right
in front of you, let O er rip. Your arrow will deflect his own
weapon back at him, causing to make a weird screaming sound,
but more importantly stunning him long enough to pin. The arrow
you knock back his axe with should be over half-way charged.
His life bar is huge, so you 'll have to whittle it down. If one
heavenly attack doesn 't make him keel over, just keep hitting
him.
Once he 's pinned, things get way easier. Stay far away. This is
important for two reasons. A) He can 't attack you with any of
his basic moves and, B) it 'll give you enough time to charge an
arrow when he calls out O Catch! ', with he will do when pinned.
Also, he 'll go into a struggle animation that 's good for
charging.
One thing to note: Occasionally he 'll toss his axes at you in a
side-ways arch; you can still deflect them, but you have to be
alert and the timings a little more precise. Basically, wait
from when they swing out of view to when they swing back in, in
front of your face, then fire. This 'll stun him too.
Remember to move the requisite 45 degrees, and you should have
him dead in no time. If he doesn 't die after the Judgement
Attack, like I said, keep firing them arrows until he slumps
over.

--THE END OF CHOPPER--
Oh, but wait. Chopper isn 't dead! To kill him, Alyssa brings
out the Old Rooder Arrow she collected earlier, and as it
charges up strange glyphs glow around it, spinning. Chopper
looks unconcerned even as it hurtles towards him. A blinding
flash and...he 's still standing there. All is silent. Suddenly,
Chopper 's body shakes and his body arches involuntarily, as the
arrow punctures his body, flying right through him and sending
dark bluish-black blood everywhere. He is destroyed in a dark
blast with a bright light from above, his scream resounding in
the still graveyard air...

3. Character Background
The game really said it best at this point. So let me quote
CT3 's O Book of Entities, ' found in pieces in-game...:
O In 1655, a woodcutter by the name of Harold Powell was born in
Cardiff, Wales. Hideously deformed at birth, he suffered the
taunts and ill will of all those around him. At 17 years of
age, he proposed marriage to Emily Dickins [do I smell a
convoluted name of a famous poet? Yes...I do...-Mora], the
innkeeper 's daughter, but was cruelly rebuffed. In retaliation,
he is said to have dismembered Emily with his axe. For years
following the gruesome event, he went from village to village,
abducting young girls and butchering them in the same fashion.
Two years later, he was caught by villagers and killed.
However, Powell was possessed by an Entity, and was revived to
hunt for Rooders as the head of the Subordinates. '
So basically, the dude hates young girls because of Emily, who
rejected him. While the narrative above is a little repetitive,
you get the idea. One question I get asked, though...*Q: Why does
he look...sort of normal now? Minus the albino-ness and wild
tattoos. *Partially A: Perhaps because with each kill he became
more normal-looking, as a reward from the Entity. Or maybe
after the first time he was killed, he was reconstructed to
look that way. If anyone has any other thoughts, let me know.
By the way, while the other Subordinates had a run of about two
to three years, Chopper 's been around for more like 350, since
you kill him in the late 80 's ( '88 or so).

D. SCISSORWOMAN
1. Boss Guide
This cute little Tudor ninja has a voice like she 's on a helium
high. When playing the game with my friend, his younger sister
remarked that it sounded a little like Sesame St. O This chapter
brought to you by D...FOR DEATH! '

VERY IMPORTANT: THERE IS NO AUTO AIM IN THIS FIGHT. That is,
when she 's running at you, you 'll have to line up the shot
manually by having Alyssa face her. To balance this
inconvenience, Scissorwoman has less health than Sledgehammer.
First of all, from the camera angle the fight starts in, turn
Alyssa to about where the 5 would be on a clock, or roughly
South-East. Then start charging. Scissorwoman should be in the
view. Don 't panic if she gets close...charge for as long as you
can, letting go just as she raises her arms.
Also: YOU CANNOT PIN HER. Every time you hit her, she 'll
teleport away again, landing someplace else. You should pick a
section of the dungeon where you have a large view and can see
what 's going on around you, so you 'll have longer to charge
your attacks.
Her major attack can only be seen coming by a longer laugh than
she usually let 's out. This attack is basically her teleporting
to a section of the dungeon, spinning around madly and causing
a slicing whirlwind, a little like one level of the Aztec 's
Seven Hells. You can avoid it by clocking where it 's coming
from, then running away from it as much as you can. If you get
to the right spot, it won 't touch you at all. If you line up a
shot while she 's doing this, you can hit her, but the arrow has
to be fully charged to puncture the roaring winds around her.
Other than that she 's got the average attacks. Too close and
slice, slice.
When you 've got her on the ropes, she 'll start teleporting
closer and quicker, plus picking up the speed in general a bit
more. Overall, though, she 's a pretty easy little boss.

2. Character Background--Tudor England/Lord Burroughs:
To explain the Scissor Twins at any length, I have to explain
Lord Burroughs first.
Lord Darcy Burroughs was a powerful land-owner in Tudor
England, owning much of it 's South-East. He married...dun-dun-
dun...Natalya Hamilton of the prestigious Hamilton family, and
together they had a daughter: Annabel. (Note: Darcy...Dick.
Natalya...Nancy. Annabel...Alyssa. HMMMMM. That 's the whole deal
with the D, N, A Crests.) The Hamiltons, as you know through
playing the game, are a Rooder family, so Natalya was one, and
Annabel will become one.
The Scissor Twins are before Annabel, though. Born in 1573 in
some Oriental country--probably China or Malaysia, where trade
was established--they were brought back at a very young age as
human souvenirs by Burroughs or one of his contemporaries. As
O curiosities, ' they were most likely shown at court (probably
in London; it 's later explained that Burroughs Castle stood in
the same place as Alyssa 's house. Court was really wherever the
Queen went--Elizabeth I--, and consisted of at least 1,000
people.). Burroughs adopted them in some strange fashion, and
they came back to live with him. Apparently, both Ralph and
Jemima (...names obviously given to them after their arrival, but
don 't go supposing they can either speak their own language or
remember their original names. Their thick English accents and
the way they refer to each other as R and J pretty much proves
that. If there was a Lin or a Hsu or anything there, it 's gone.
Thanks England.) were tremendously cruel by nature. They
enjoyed dismembering and eviscerating and doing all manner of
terrible things to living subjects with sharp weapons...and they
loved scissors the most. Burroughs appointed them his torturers
and executioners.
Back to Burroughs and his family...at age 50, O fearing the
impermanence of life, ' as the Book of Entities mentions, he
discovered the Ritual of Engagement and decided to perform it
on his own daughter. Sadly for him and bittersweetly lucky for
her, she was killed the day before her fifteenth birthday in a
carriage accident. Sinking into a depression that was soon
replaced by a terrible rage, Burroughs had the maid and
carriage man that were with her at the time killed. When it
didn 't salve his anger, he had more and more of his staff
murdered. Lady Natalya tried to stop him, but in his fury he
killed her himself. When his massacre extended to the
villagers, however, they rose against him... Chased by enraged
villagers, Burroughs got clumsy in his evasion. Cornered as he
hid in the Clock Tower of his mighty castle, he accidentally
got himself crushed by the cogs. What a way to go.
The English, in an era of new pushes in almost every
scientific, social, artistic, educational and technological
field were proud of how they treated their common folk, so even
if Burroughs had now been routed by his own villagers, the
Court would 've stepped in quite soon.
The Twins, on the other hand, were dragged out of the castle
and stoned to death. But surprise, surprise! They were
possessed...by the same Entity. Resurrected together in death,
they became two of the more powerful Subordinates, and also
lived the longest, clocking in at exactly four hundred years
since their demise, and if you 're counting all of it...420, or
something around there. I 'm guessing they 're about twenty.
As for what kind of people, nothing much is said. Basically, in
the real world, they are tributes to the earlier Scissormen of
CT1 and 2. Opinions are...mixed. You decide how much you like
them. Personally, they 're the reason I played through the game
multiple times. While my friends ' and I like to speculate on
the Twin 's actions and personalities back in their own time,
that 's all it is...speculation. From the game we see they 're
insane, obviously, but also fun and with a sense of humor. It
seems they care more about each other than anybody else....no you
sicko, not that much. Don 't you even go there. *Holds up a
frying pan* Anyway....onto Lord Burroughs!

--CONNECTING BATTLES--
Once you 've mortally wounded Jemima, she 'll spin in a circle
screaming. In her death agony, she 'll let one of her blade 's fly,
barely missing Dennis on the altar, where he was being tortured a
little while before in a situation straight out of Poe 's O The Pit
and the Pendulum. '. Then she 'll collapse in a section of the
dungeon, her other sword stuck next to her. Alyssa will begin
untying Dennis with the katana Jem dropped, until her name is
called out in an ailing scream. Scissorman drops down on them,
kicks the sharp instrument out of Alyssa 's hands, then runs over
to his dead sister. Gently lifting her, her body disintegrates
into coloured pieces that disappear. Staring down in disbelief at
where his sister was a moment ago, he makes some strange choking
noises, in shock. Alyssa and Dennis cling to each other as his
sorrow is replaced with anger. O How dare you kill my sister--
you 'll pay for it! ' Scissorman asserts, dropping one of his blades
and picking up one of Jemima 's instead. O I 'll make mincemeat out
of you! ' O No, don 't! ' Dennis calls out, but Scissorman has already
jumped over the altar and in front of Alyssa...

E. SCISSORMAN
1. Boss Guide
You have angered the pale, girly ninja. You will pay. ...No,
seriously, Scissorman is my favorite character. I love the
cutscenes he and his sister are in.

Okay, the auto aim is back. Hurrah! This 'll make it easier. But
then, to balance that, Scissorman is one tough mofo; his health-
bar is about two thirds the length of the screen. To start off,
run away from him. He has all those annoying normal attacks.
One thing he does that you may mistake for a stun opportunity is
when he snaps his giant scissors together and walks sideways, but
there 's nothing you can do, except put more space between him and
you. The real stunning chances are when he pauses in his run and
does a happy little dance, hopping on one foot and then the other,
laughing, and when he says O I 've a present for you! ' As soon as he
says that, he 's going to kneel down and charge up a blue glow
around himself. Charge up an arrow the second he says his phrase.
As soon as you 're fully charged, let it fly. If you let him do
this uninterrupted, he 'll release a devastating attack that 's a
little like sharp blue energy scythes flying around the room in an
arch, and there 's no way to avoid them. They do a nice chunk of
damage, and are also a bit like the Seven Hells. This is
important: if, while he 's charging this attack, you fire an arrow
that 's not FULLY CHARGED, he 'll let the attack go prematurely and
your arrow won 't hurt him. You have more than enough time to get
it all the way charged, so don 't worry. Just be prompt.
His other major attack is when you hear him laugh sharply. He 'll
stand on his head, and a big jut of blue energy that looks like a
line of dorsal fins will come at you. Turn to the side sharply! If
you were charging an arrow, let go and just run. It 's hard to
avoid if you were, but it can be done. Be careful, though: a
variation on this that he uses infrequently is when two of them
will come slicing right at youNbut spaced so that you may stand in
between unharmed, since they come from him like this: /  *you*  \
If you put enough space in between the two of you, of course you
can turn back and start charging an arrow. If it 's more than
halfway charged, it 'll stun him, pushing him back a bit, and you
can charge another one. I don 't think you can fully charge one--
but if you 're close enough and you just keep doing this, he won 't
attack and you can keep eating his health away. Since his health-
bar is so long, this is a good way to whittle it down, but you
might not want to try it straight off...get a feel for the battle 's
pattern first.
Seriously, neither of the twins of that hard; I 've finished both
without loosing any health at all, and my friend beat Scissorwoman
her first try with maybe two hits. So don 't be too worried about
this pretty little pair.
Once you 've got him either dead with enough peltings, or dead by
the Heavenly Attack, you won 't have to fight him anymore, but he 's
still not dead...

--THE END OF SCISSORMAN--
He falls to the floor and begins having a little-kid tantrum,
screaming Alyssa 's name. Using this time to try and free Dennis by
breaking the ropes binding him with her bare hands (c 'mon
Dennis...if she can do it, you can.), she fails to notice what 's
going on in back. Scissorman rises up behind her and drags her
backward, one of his swords at her neck. She breaks loose and
tries to run, while the wounded Scissorman takes sloppy swings at
her. Because she 's panicking, he manages to corner her against a
wall. Laughing, he tells her he 's the winner. But behind him,
wimpy little Dennis has managed to free himself using the blade
Ralph left behind. Scrambling to the controls, he cries O Alyssa! '
and pulls the lever which puts the giant swinging blade into
operation. Scissorman and Alyssa both gasp as it comes hurtling
toward them (I guess Dennis didn 't notice Alyssa was over there,
too. Smooth.), but at the last moment he pushes her away while
she also shoves herself away. Impaled on the huge blade, Ralph
screams until he too bursts into coloured pieces and vanishes,
just like his sister. Alyssa rolls across the altar and narrowly
misses being sliced apart by the giant swinging edge. Landing hard
on the ground, she sits up and Dennis runs to meet her. While both
of them pant and try to collect themselves, they jump as loud,
familiar laughter fills the dungeon. The ghosts of the twins are
riding the giant blade, giggling. Both them and the giant weapon
disappear in a flash of purple light, and Alyssa stands up and
thanks Dennis. Dennis, apparently losing his mind completely, lies
down on the altar and spazzes like a baby, making dumb jokes about
the Scissor Twins while Alyssa watches silently. Luckily, his
stupid sense of humor is cut short as they are both thrown into
sudden darkness....

F. LORD BURROUGHS
1. Boss Guide
The huge, well-fed man with the little bowties on his shoes and the
little pigtails in front of his ears is going to kill you. No,
seriously. Let me tell you, Lord Burroughs ' Boss fight is an INSANE
difficulty curve. I must have tried to defeat him over 10 times.
Don 't get discouraged, though...just the other night I beat him for the
second time with minimal health losses. So let 's hope we can work
together and get ya through this, friend. Imma space it out so it 's
easier for you to find where you are.

Okay. Here 's the key: STAY OPPOSITE FROM HIM ON THE BATTLEFIELD.
You 'll want to be as far as possible from him, too.
Now, this is the big issue...Lord Wonderful 's normal attack can bind
you like your fully-charged one! So here 's what to do. Charge an
arrow--it can be incredibly weak, it doesn 't matter--but when you see
him start making a purple energy ball with his hands, and he begins
to call out O Go to Hell! ' let your arrow fly and either duck or run
to the side--out of the line of fire, Keep up this pattern! Sometimes
he 'll pause to laugh, or walk a little closer, which gives you more
time to charge. If your shot is strong enough, it can stop his
attack, and he should say something like O Go to H--Ahhhhh! ' But this
doesn 't always mean his energy ball won 't still fly, so dodge just in
case. If you 're sure it 's not, take the chance to charge up. If he
gets too close to you, run, never stopping until you 're opposite him
again, or you could get pinned.

IF YOU ARE PINNED, either run to the end of your energy leash and let
it yank you onto the ground, or even better, just duck, and all his
energy balls will soar over your head until the tether vanishes.

Halfway through his first health-bar, he gets a new attack that
you 'll just love (sarcasm). If he says O There is no escape! ' then a
puddle of gooey red stuff will appear under you and stick you to the
spot long enough for him to pin you. If you get lucky he may not, but
don 't take chances. RUN as soon as he says this; it 's not very big
and disappears rather quickly, after only one attack let out by each
of you.

Again, work with a small space of the battlefield. If he does get
near, he 'll take swipes at you with his sword that are really strong,
and they 'll knock you down on your ass. He 'll also stab you while
you 're down for the count, or grab you as you run past, muttering
O What a sweet little girl ' as he zaps life from you and occasionally
adds it to his own.

Keep up your pattern and your dodge until his first life-bar is gone.
Then have fun. Use all those arrows you 've been saving. Here 's what
to look for: If you bind him, he 'll charge up a blue glow around
himself, rise into the air, breaking free and wasting your arrows and
your work. Use this to your advantage! When he sets back down on the
ground, fire--that is, CHARGE UP AS SOON AS HE BEGINS THIS BREAK-FREE
MOVE. Be careful you don 't fire prematurely...he 's invincible while up
in the air.

One thing he does maybe once a battle is say O Ready to give up now? '
To answer him, charge up an arrow. He gives you time with this
phrase. You might even be able to get it fully charged.

If you run out of arrows, don 't freak out or spazz like Dennis.
Instead, calmly take up your original pattern. This 'll definitely
take some practice. It took me some, but then I figured out that
dodging after firing works better than standing there like a post.
Try and figure out if anything different works for you, but there
aren 't very many variations. This battle leaves little room for
margin or error.

Once the cutscene with Alyssa doing the Matrix dives starts, IT ISN 'T
OVER. When the video ends, you 'll have to run around Burroughs to the
other end of the field, so basically run counter-clockwise (nice
little addition there...it 's like slogging backward through your
progress, finishing up your advancement) in a circle. There 's a pile
of rubble...your mother. A new scene will start.

--THE END OF LORD BURROUGHS--
Alyssa picks up the head of her mother and takes out a sword made of
blue energy. Telling her attacker to give up, they charge at each
other, swinging their weapons. Lord Burroughs misses his target like
a drunken midget truck driver, but Alyssa strikes home; puncturing
his stomach and forcing the blade in as deep as she can. Letting go,
Burroughs stumbles backward and falls through the hole in the center
of the arena, screaming and writing as he plummets down....

What, you thought I 'd tell you what happens next? Relax...and watch.
Congrats--you 've beaten Clock Tower 3!

4. CONCLUSION
a. Clear Mode/Unlockables
CLEAR MODE: The second time you play the game through, use the
O Clear ' file you got at the end. It 's a rather dumb gimmick that
increases the difficulty. Killers run faster, have new weapons (i.e.
Sledgehammer suddenly becomes Maul), there are less supplies, and
your Panic Meter fills more quickly. Only one Subordinate had a new
attack that I noted, and that 's Sledgehammer. Get too close to him in
the boss fight, and he 'll grab you and suck your life out, like
Burroughs did. Gah!
UNLOCKABLES: New outfits. Wheee! There 's a Rooder Warrior outfit that
looks a bit Xena-ish, a Cowgirl one that 's basically bellbottoms, a
jean jacket, a hat and the lack of a shirt. She 's just wearing a bra.
There 's a Greek dress one, that 's reminiscent of what you wore in the
last fight, but slightly different. A Hoochie one that 's a leather
outfit that it quite tight with boots, and her normal schoolgirl
outfit. Enjoy, pervert.
THEATER: This is the best...All the cutscenes from the game are
available for viewing here, plus, pressing the R1 button will bring
you to process art. Score!
