"Thank you or purhasing Konami's Castlevania(R) Lament of Innocence(TM)."
-Instuction Manual
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence was released in America on October 21,
2003. At the time of it's release in the states, it hadn't yet been
released in Japan. When I wrote this FAQ, there weren't any posted on
www.gamefaqs.com.
This FAQ is meant to be a guide to use along with playing the game. I'm
sure I've missed some things, but will try to keep it updated. With the
information in this FAQ, you will be able to get 100.0% map coverage.
That doesn't mean that you'll get every item, though. A good deal of
items come as drop items from defeated monsters. And with all the nooks
and cranies in the game, I'm sure I overlooked somethings. Anyway, this
games rules, so have fun.
1. What's New * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * [NEW]
* This is version 1.3. Shiningdagger informed me of the reward for
finishing the game on the harder difficuly. A few other typos were
fixed throughout the guide as well. This update was made on December
8, 2003.
* This is version 1.25. Rene informed me that there were second
requirements for some of Leon's combos. I've added that information.
This update was made on November 11, 2003.
* This is version 1.2. I've added information about another secret
character. This update was made on November 10, 2003.
* Now, this is version 1.1. I've added one more location for the item
duplication trick, thanks to Darklegacy. This update was made on
November 7, 2003.
* This is version 1.0! There isn't anything that's not new. This update
was made on November 3, 2003.

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence is the story of the origins of the
Belmont clan.

He owns the little shop outside of the vampire's castle. He mentions that
he is allowed to help visitors to the castle, as the castle's master see

selling him items with gold acquired in the castle.
Walter
He is the vampire who is master of the castle. Leon wants to kill him,
and end the eternal night, for kidnapping Sara. Walter has some kind of
ebony stone that perpetuates the night.

Joachim is a vampire, and the boss of the Dark Palace of Waterfalls stage.
After beating the game, he is a playable character.

He's what I was able to put together in terms of when you get new combos.
This is what I had when I got each of them. For the ones that require
total number of Encyclopedia entries, I know that bosses do count. I
got a few of these after boss fights. The numbers I have here include
Red Skeletons, which you cannot kill, but they do show up in the
Encyclopedia.
Extension 5 Encyclopedia entries
Draw Up 32 Encyclopedia entries
Vertical High 38 Encyclopedia entries
Rising Shot 52 Encyclopedia entries
Fast Rising 1000 total kills*
Spinning Blast 68 Encyclopedia entries
Energy Blast 58 Encyclopedia entries
Sonic Edge 1250 total kills + 73 encyclopedia entries
A Extension 1 11 Encyclopedia entries
A Extension 2 21 Encyclopedia entries
Step Attack 43 Encyclopedia entries + 100 total Quick Steps
Falcon Claw 48 Encyclopedia entries
Quick Step 3 total kills
Quick Step 2 28 Encyclopedia entries
Perfect Guard 15 total guards
* For the Fast Rising combo, there is another requirement. I haven't
been able to figure out what it is, but I'm pretty sure that you need a
certain amount of Encyclopedia Entries. If you have any information on
this, please let me know. (*thanks to Rene & B. Smith for help on this)
In Crazy Mode, these requirements are different. You cannot earn
the moves by doing them. It seems to be based on Encyclopedia
entries, kills, guards, and Quick Steps. Also, when you Perfect
Guard, you recover 20 MP.

Map 1, Black Orb
Enemies found: Golden Knight, Skeleton
Secret Boss: Forgotten One
This guy's tough. Bring a lot of potions. Maybe some Heart Repairs, too.
Okay, he's weak to ice, so use that Whip of Ice. He's strong against fire,
lightning, and crosses. I used the Spinning Edge (Axe + Blue Orb), and it
worked well for me. He's got three sections. The lower-torso, the upper-
torso, and the head. On the lower-torso, simply jump up near him and air
combo like crazy. Save your hearts for the next two sections, and you
should have to heal, either. The mid-torso is more rough. He attacks in a
variety of ways with his hand. He'll sweep it across, either left or right,
and you can jump over that. He also slams his fist down on the platform,
but his gives you an indication as to where he's going to he the platform.
You should be able to dodge this. An important note is that his hand will
take damage as well as his body. His head isn't really that difficult, if
you can dodge the fire he breathes. He'll first cause an earthquake that
makes rocks fall from the ceiling. When he's doing this attack, you're
pretty much free to rail on his head. When you see his mouth glow yellow,
though, take cover behind a rock. One without cracks in it. If the fire
hits you, it'll just about kill you, even if you have a lot of health.
Notes:
* When you first enter the Castle Entrance, the door to Leon's left is
what I refer to as the tutorial section. You're forced to go there first.
To Leon's right is a passage way that leads to the room with five
teleports to each stage.
* On floor B1F of the Castle Entrance, there is a door "sealed by an
especially enormous power." You need the Unlock Jewel from the Pagoda
of the Misty Moon stage to open this door. Inside that door and down
one floor is the Forgotten One boss. Beating him will earn you the
Black Orb.
15. House of Sacred Remains * * * * * * * * * * * * * [HSM]
Items Found: Marker Stone 6, Neapolitan, HP Max Up x2, MP Max Up,
Bloody Cape, Black Bishop, White Tiger Key, Blue Orb
Enemies found: Bat, Zombie, Skeleton, Skeleton Swordman, Red Skeleton,
Skeleton Archer, Ghost Warrior, Rune Spirit, Skeleton Knight, Buckbaird,
Wolf Skeleton, Heavy Armor, Flea Man, Vassago, Spartacus, Peeping Eye,
Astral Fighter, Executioner, Poison Zombie, Evil Sword, Skeleton Hunter,
Soulless (a), Soulless (b)
Boss: Undead Parasite
A quick way to kill this boss is to use the 3-hit heavy whip combo
consectutively on each of the four eyeballs. The huge range of this
attack usually takes care of the Soulless monsters, too. You can't get
hurt by the worm's fire breathing attack, if you stay far enough away.
If you want to be safe, only attack the parasite itself when it appears
at one of the bottom two holes.
Notes:
* In the room with five head-statues, that you can flip to either a goat
head or a woman head, there are two statue configurations that will
unlock the doors in the room. One of them is Goat, Woman, Goat, Woman,
Woman. The other is Woman, Goat, Goat, Woman, Goat.
* In the room to the east of the starting room, the one with the high
ledge, you have to whip-up to the ledge. I did this using the Wolf's
Foot Relic, by jumping from the other high ledge across the room, but
apparently you can do this without the Wolf's Foot relic. The idea is
that you get to the lower ledge on the same side of the room as the
higher ledge (the left side of the screen) that you're trying to get to,
and jump around that fence in a sort of half-circle. You do this by
jumping off the lower ledge towards the center of the room, then double
jumping at an angle that is towards the higher ledge. You need to whip
up to the ledge after the well-angled double jump. (* thanks to Lukas &
Elogas for help with this one)
* To get the three-lock door with the triangular pattern open, you need
to get over as east as you can on floor 1F. You're going to need the
Wolf's Foot to jump across to the broken ledge. Once in that area, go
all the way to the end. In the last room, there will be a bookcase with
scratches on the ground in front of it. That bookcase is a secret door
that you can push open. The White Tiger Key is behind the three-lock
door with the triangular pattern.
* There is a door that requires a Yellow Dragon key in this area.
Behind it is the Black Bishop relic.
16. Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab * * * * * * * * * * * * * [ASM]
Items Found: Ancient Text 1, Ancient Text 3, Ancient Text 4, Map 2,
Marker Stone 4, HP Max Up, MP Max Up, Heart Max Up x2, Whip of Flames,
Yellow Dragon Key, Wolf's Foot, Megingjord, Arctic Ring, Super Potion,
"e" Tablet, White Orb, Red Orb
Enemies found: Skeleton, Ghost Knight, Skeleton Swordsman, Flame Zombie,
Frost Zombie, Hellhound, Armor Knight, Axe Armor, Mad Diver, Axe Knight,
Red Skeleton, Peeping Eye, Astral Warrior, Flame Sword, Hanged Man,
Skeleton Flower, Red Ogre, Flame Demon
Sub-Boss: Flame Elemental
A good trick to dodge this guy's attacks is to run in tight circles
around him. When he does the cloumn of fire attack, double jump away
from him. You should attack him with the 3-hit heavy whip combo after
each of his attacks. He's weak to ice, so if you have the Whip of Ice,
you should use it.
Boss: Golem
Not too bad. A lot of quick air combos will do the trick. Try to avoid
his punches. In his second form, stay towards the edge of the room.
He'll shoot a fist at you, and you'll need to double-jump over it. He
just sits there for a few seconds after that, and you can get a couple
air combos in before returning to the edge of the room. I thought Axes
worked pretty well on him.
Notes:
* You need the Wolf's Foot relic to cross the collapsing bridge.
* To get the White Orb, you're going to need to break the statue that
blocks a doorway on floor 1F. To find the statue, go out of the first
save point in the stage, and then go east. There is a large white statue
in the room with Flame and Frost Zombie. To break it, you need to whip it
a few times with the Whip of Flames, and then quickly hit it a few times
with the Whip of Ice.
* There is a door that requires a Red Phoenix key in this area. Behind
it is the Wolf's Foot relic.
17. Dark Palace of Waterfalls * * * * * * * * * * * * [DPW]
Items Found: Map 3, Heart Reparir, HP Max UP x2, Super Potion, Whip of Ice,
Heart Max Up x2, MP Max Up, Raccoon Charm, Marker Stone 8, Little Hammer,
Blue Dragon Key, Meditative Incense, Draupnir, Green Orb
Enemies found: Skeleton, Fish Man, Frost Demon, Frost Sword, Merman,
Heavy Armor, Red Skeleton, Axe Armor, Rune Spirit, Vassago,
Skeleton Swordman, Skeleton Archer, Flea Man, Lizard Man,
Skeleton Soldier, Armor Knight
Sub-Boss: Frost Elemental
You should use the Whip of Flames, if you have it. Her attacks are
quick, and kind of tough to dodge all the time, so I like to lay into
her as fast as I can with whip combos.
Sub-Boss: Doppelganger(a)
He's located on floor B1F, on the west side of the map, after you take
a right in the second Y-shaped hallway. You have to fight him once
you enter the room, so hit the save room at the other end of the Y-shaped
hallway first. This guy can be annoying, because he runs around pretty
fast and attacks quickly. A good strategy is to throw a long-range sub-
weapon at him (Axes works well) and then rush him with a combo. If you
repeat this over and over, you can beat him while taking minimal damage.
Boss: Joachim
In order to damage Joachim, you need to break the three crystals in the
corners of the room. You should be able to dodge some of his attacks my
moving quickly, and double-jumping around. Attack him fast when the
crystals are broken, because you don't have much time before he summons
them back. He's weak to ice, holy water, and crosses, so if you picked
up the Whip of Ice, you should use it.
Notes:
* To get to the boss, you need to find the bridge switch and then the
water switch. The bridge switch is in the oddly shaped room on floor B1F.
When you start the stage, go right down the first Y-shaped hallway, then
left through the second one. Go straight into the next room, and it's the
room after that curvey hallway. The water switch is in a room with the same
odd shape on floor B2F, the farthest point east on the map. Once you've hit
these two switches, head to the south side of floor B1F, by way of the east
side of the map.
* There is a door that looks like it has been sealed off on floor B1F. Get
the Heavy Armor to attack you while you're standing in fornt of it, and
it'll break open.
* There are two tunnel rides that take from whatever floor you're on to the
other floor. You get an item for collecting all of the coins in each of the
two tunnels. I recommend finding a nearby save point, so you can get a feel
for where the coins are. When you get all the coins, you'll hear a chime.
The patterns are as follows: (R = right side, L = left side, C = center)
- B2F to B1F (red platform): R, L, R, L, R, L, R. Then move to
the center to collect an MP Max Up.
- B1F to B2F (blue platform): R, L, R, L, R, L, R, C. Then move
to the center to collect the Meditative Incense relic.
* On floor B2F, there is a door that's covered in ice. It'll melt if you
hit it with the Whip of Flames. Behind the door is the Little Hammer relic.
* On floor B1F, in the room on the eastern side of the map with the huge
axes swinging back and forth, there is a Heart Max Up and a Raccoon Charm
accessory. You don't want to miss these items.
* There is a door that requires a Black Turtle key in this area.
Behind it is the Draupnir accessory.
18. Garden Forgotten By Time * * * * * * * * * * * * [GFT]
Items Found: Map 4, HP Max Up, Heart Max Up, Tool Bag, Jewel Crush,
Marker Stone 5, Ring of Thunder, Ring of Fire, Whip of Lightning,
Red Phoenix Key, Saisei Incense, Purple Orb
Enemies found: Skeleton, Ghost, Skeleton Swordman, Bat, Skeleton Archer,
Red Skeleton, Evil Stabber, Shadow Wolf, Buckbaird, Astral Warrior,
Gargoyle, Storm Skeleton, Axe Armor, Skeleton Soldier, Thunder Demon,
Mist, Man-Eating Plant, Poison Lizard, Spirit, Thunder Sword, Axe Knight,
Armor Knight, Skeleton Flower
Sub-Boss: Thunder Elemental
In my opinion, this is the toughest Elemental. He's fast and doesn't seem
to miss much, so attack him fast. He's weak to knives and axes.
Boss: Medusa
She's got a few different attacks, but they're all dodgeable. You can
dodge the rocks that she hurls at you by doing a bunch of consecutive
Quick Steps. A good time to hit her are when she's summoning those snakes,
because you can go up to her and do two or three air combos and not get hurt.
Also, right after she finishes rolling around, she'll be vulnerable for a few
seconds. She's weak againtst axes, too, so try to bring some of those.
Notes:
* You can use the Man-Eating Plants to get up to the tall ledges in the two
rooms with this enemy. Attack them and, when they open up, you can jump onto
them. In the first room with a Man-Eating plant, you can activate a switch
for the three-lock door with the triangular shape. There's also the Jewel
Crush accessroy. The second room leads to the area where you get the Whip
of Lightning. Also in this secret area is another switch for the three-lock
door with the triangular shape, a Heart Max Up, and the Saisei Incense relic.
* In the area that leads to the Thunder Elemental, in the room with the broken
bridge, you can access the door above the Heart Max Up with the Wolf's Foot
relic. That is where the Saisei Incense relic is.
* To get to the boss, you to find the room with eight sphinx-like statues.
You can break this statues with you whip. There's a door behind the one on
the right side of the northern wall.
* There is a door that requires a Blue Dragon key in this area. Behind it
is the Tool Bag.
19. Ghostly Theatre * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * [GHT]
Items Found: Map 5, Ancient Text 2, HP Max Up x2, MP Max Up, Heart Repair,
Mana Prism, Heart Max Up, Aroma Earring, Marker Stone 7, Lucifer's Sword,
Brisingamen, Heart Brooch, Black Turtle Key, Curtain Time Bell, Yellow Orb
Enemies found: Skeleton, Skeleton Hunter, Buckbaird, Skeleton Warrior,
Ghost, Red Ogre, Cyclops, Ghost Soldier, Spirit, Zombie, Shadow Wolf,
Axe Knight, Astral Knight, Hanged Man, Armor Knight, Axe Armor
Boss: Succubus
It kinda hard to fight her and not lose any life. She's all over the place,
and her attacks have long range. I don't have any special strategies for
her. Just keep on attacking her with strong combos. The air combo works
well, especially when she summons that green snake thing. She is weak to
fire, so equip that Whip of Flames if you have it. She's also weak to
knives, and I think there are two knife sub-weapons in her stage.
Notes:
* There are some rooms with stacks of skulls that shoot blueish lasers out
of their mouths. To get past them, you need to be facing them. Do this
my facing them, holding guard, and stepping past them.
* There are rooms where boulders come crashing down from the ceiling. One
of them only has brown statues, and you need to stand next to the statues
to get the boulders to break them. The other room has brown and blue
statues. Breaking all of the brown ones will open up one door, and breaking
the blues one will open the other door. There are two blue ones on high
ledges, on the wall furthest from the camera. You need to whip up there to
get the boulders to break those statues.
* In both rooms with spike platforms that drop, there are bonua areas. In
the first one, you need to go the safe area in the corner that's furthest
away from the camera and whip up the the ledge. In the second one, you
need to whip up in the middle of the right wall that's furthest away from
the camera.
* There is one room in the Ghostly Theatre that's all dark. You need to
jump from platform to platform and find the door with the Curtain Time
Bell in it. In that dark room, there is a bonus area that you can find
as well. The door to it is along the same wall as the door with the
Curtain Time Bell, but you don't have any light to guide you. From the
door you originally come in at, jump straight across to the bigger brown
platform. Then jump straigt again to a small gray platform. Then
double-jump straight again. Then double-jump to the right. That's it.
The Brisingamen is behind that door.
* To summon the boss, you need to use the Curtain Time Bell in the boss
room, when you're standing on the carpet.
* There is a door that requires a White Tiger key in this area. Behind
it is the Heart Brooch accessory.
20. Pagoda of the Misty Moon * * * * * * * * * * * * [PMM]
Items Found: Super Potion, HP Max Up x2, MP Max Up, Heart Max Up,
"VI" Tablet, "IV" Tablet, Dragon Crest, Unlock Jewel
Enemies found: Spartacus, Chaos Sword, Gaap, Phantom, Red Ogre,
Death Reaper, Mirage Skeleton, Lizard Knight, Gargoyle, Hanged Man,
Lesser Demon, Dullahan, Executioner, Axe Knight, Flame Demon
Sub-Boss: Doppelganger(b)
A lot like the first one, only he attacks with fists instead of a whip.
By this time, you have at least five Orbs to choose from, and sub-weapons
smoothly combined with whip combos will keep him stunned.
Boss: Walter
Whenever he disappears and reappears, he open to your attacks. His patterns
are easily recognizable. I used the Flame Sparks (Holy Water + Green Orb)
and it pretty much ripped him apart. He's weak to holy water and crosses.
Sub-weapons don't work on the next boss, so you should use them generously
here. You should, however, try to save potions for the next guy...
Boss: Death
You want to stay close to this guy as soon as the battle starts, and use a
lot of whip combos. Sub-weapons don't work on him and he's not weak to
anything. When he summons those flying skulls, you have time to give him two
or three solid whip combos before you'll get hurt. When he call the columns
of fire down from the sky, try to just out of the way, then double-jump to
avoid the ring of fire. When he raises his sickle, like he's going to throw
it, just double-jump to avoid it. The main thing is to stay close to him,
and b attacking him whenever you're not trying to dodge something.
Notes:
* You cannot get to the throne room without the Dragon Crest. To get this,
you need to get a "VI" Tablet and turn it into a "IV" Tablet. You do this
by going to the ring at the southeastern side of floor 2F, then taking the
"VI" Tablet to the large room in the center of floor 2F. Go into the room
across from the save point and put the "VI" Tablet into the pedestal. Flip
the switch. It will turn into a "IV" Tablet. Now, you need to bring this
back to where you got the "VI" Tablet originally, and put the "IV" Tablet
into the plaque. This will unlock the door to the Dragon Crest.
* In the Pagoda of the Misty Moon, on floor 2F, on the west side on the
map, there is another room with no lights (like the one in the Ghosty
Theatre stage). Like the one before it, this room has a light that will
guide you to the exit. And, also like the one before it, this room has
two exits. The bonus exit is tougher, because there is no light to guide
you. The exit that yu are guided to has an HP Max Up in it. The other
one has the Unlock Jewel, which you'll need to fight the secret boss,
Forgotten One. The exit with the HP Max Up is to the right, and the
bonus exit is to the left. To get to the bonus exit, get to the big
platform in the center of the room. Double-jump from the center platform
to the left and towards the camera. Then, continue in a straight line,
and double-jump again. You should be up again the left wall. Now, turn
away from the camera and double jump onto a big platform in the corner.
Stay along the wall, and turn right to double over to the ledge with
the door.

************************************************************************
Play as Joachim.
* In order to do this, you need to finish the game and save your file.
* Enter @JOACHIM as your name to play as him.
* Playing as Joachim is much like playing as Ritcher in Castlevania:
Symphony of the Night. He differs from Leon is that he does not use any
items, relics, sub-weapons, accessories, etc.
* He attacks with five swords that hover around him. He has two attacking
stances. His attacks are quick, but less powerful than Leon's combos, at
least, in the beginning. Near the end of that game as Joachim, he kicks
quite a bit of butt.
* He does have MP, which builds up as he kills monsters, and can be
unleashed with a magic attack that damages all of the monsters around him.
In the second stance, it fires this huge laser that you can aim left and
right.
* He can earn power-ups, such as HP Max Ups, MP Max Ups, Attack Ups, and
Defense Ups. These are scattered throughout the castle, but in different
locations. Where the six keys were is Leon's game, there are Defense Ups
for Joachim. When you kill an elemental boss, you get an Attack Up. It's
hard to say exactly how much these power-ups help because Joachim doesn't
have his stats displayed when you pause the game.
* Playing as Joachim makes the game a little quicker because his attacks
are so fast and he is able to clear out rooms on enemies in a matter of
seconds. However, fighting bosses with him can be difficult, due to the
fact that he doesn't deal as much damage as a fully powered-up Leon, and
he cannot use any sort of potions.
* One other thing, is that instead of Rosarios, the enemies sometimes drop
Bloddy Skulls. They do the same thing, they just look different.
* When you finish the game with Joachim, you can play the game as Pumpkin.
Just finish, save it, and enter your name as @PUMPKIN.
Play as Pumpkin.
* In order to do this, finish the game with Joachim, and save your file.
* Enter @PUMPKIN as you name in a new game.
* Playing as Pumpkin is a lot like playing as Leon. In fact, there are
only a few differences. He doesn't get to pick up sub-weapons, other
than the one he starts with. It's a pumpkin. The Orbs can power it up
in various ways.
* He starts with all of the whip combos, quick-steps and all that kind of
stuff.
* He starts with the Vampire Killer whip. His starting stats are also
better. With the whip and better stats, his attack is 40 at the beginning.
That's compared to Leon's attack of 20. His defense starts at 10, instead
of 0. His Con stat is 20, instead of Leon's 10. He only starts with
100 HP and 100 MP, though, instead of Leon's 200 for each. He starts with
a max of 130 hearts, compared to Leon's 80. Overall, it seems that his
attack is so strong, that the game is much easier than it was with Leon.
* Also, he's pretty funny-looking.
Crazy Mode
* In order to do this, you need to finish the game and save your file.
* Enter @CRAZY as your name to access this mode.
* Crazy Mode is exactly that. Crazy. This mode is the same as Leon's
game, only insanely difficult. Even finishing the tutorial section of
the Castle Entrance is a feat. I'm not sure what happens when you finish
the game on this mode, as I haven't gotten very far yet.
* The starting stats that are different:
18 Attack (instead of 20 in normal)
12 Intelligence (instead of 20 in normal)
50 Max Hearts (instead of 80 in normal)
* Also, you can only hold 5 of each item, instead of 9.
* I'm told that when you finish the game on Crazy Mode, you will be able
to purchase Morbius' Brooch, an accessory that allows you to use sub-
weapons without the cost of hearts. It sells for 200,000 gold.
(* thanks to shiningdagger for this one)
Boss Rush Mode
* In order to do this, you need to finish the game, having already beat
the Forgotten One, and save you file.
* To access this mode, load up the save that you finished the game with
and go to the area in the Castle Entrance with the five teleports. There
should be a new teleport in the center. Stepping in it will take you
to Boss Rush Mode.
* As the name denotes, you will need to fight all of the game's bosses
in a row. Make sure you have plenty of potions and food. It keeps
track of the time that it takes you to do this.
* The bosses you fight are, in this order: Flame Elemental, Frost Elemental,
Lightning Elemental, Doppelganger(a), Doppelganger(b), Undead Parasite,
Golem, Succubus, Medusa, Joachim, Forgotten One, Walter, and Death.
* After each boss that you kill, except for Walter, you get 2 Potions and
4 Big Hearts.
* Your save will remember your best time. You can see your best time and
previous time in your player stats.
Unlockable Items
* If you finish the game, Rinaldo will sell a Music Box item for 3150 gold.
Buying this item will add an option to the title screen that lets you listen
to all the background music in the game. You can buy this on any save file,
as long as one has finished the game (I don't know why you'd need for than
one, though).
* If you finish the game, Rinaldo will sell a Crystal Mask accessory for 999
gold. Equipping this will allow you to break candles by running into them.
You can buy this on any save file, as long as one has finished the game.
Item Duplication (*thanks to muncherotb & Darklegacy for help with this one)
* Yes, you can dupe items! It seems to be a glitch that you can exploit
to get 9 of every item. There are two places that I know of where you can
do this. The first place is in the hallway with the first save point in
it (the hallway opposite of the tutorial section, the one that leads to
the five teleporters). In this room, there are windows on the left side,
and the door to the save point on the right. Go to the last window in the
room, where the green light shines in from outside. Stand between the two
candles there, near the window, with you feet kind of halfway on the red
part of the carpet and halfway off the carpet. Face the window. Stand
there for about five seconds, then press [start] to pause the game. Check
your item list. If it worked, every time you move the cursor up and down,
you should be added one to each item quantity. There is one more spot
where I've gottent his to work. In the Pagoda of the Misty Moon, on floor
2F, in the room with the stairs that go down to the first floor. Stand on
the gold-colored circular design on the carpet, the one in the center. Do
the same thing as above. There are probably more places where this works,
but these are the two that I know about. I have tried them both, and they
work. You need to get the location just right, so keep trying until it
works. And you thought Crazy Mode was crazy. This is just plain stupid!

* VIII. FAQs [FAQ] *
************************************************************************
Q. What order should I play the stages?
A. The game is set up so that you can play them in any order. You're going
to end up going back to get stuff, no matter where you start or what order
you play them in. I think a good place to start is either the House of
Sacred Remains of the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab, only because they seem to
have the weakest enemies and bosses.
Q. I'm having trouble clearing out the XXXXX stage.
A. I've noted the commonly missed areas of each stage in chapter IV.
Look in the notes section for whatever stage you're trying to clear.
Q. Where is the XXXXX item?
A. I've noted where all the items can be found in chapter II. Look up the
item you want to find, and it's location.
Q. How do I unlock the door that is sealed by an especially enormous power?
A. You need the Unlock Jewel from the bosses level.
Q. What are Leon's max stats?
A. I believe they are 300 HP, 300 MP, and 150 Hearts.
Q. How do I make the jump to the really high ledge in the House of
Sacred Remains stage?
A. You can jump from the slightly-lower ledge on the same side of the room.
You need to jump from the lower ledge, out towards the middle of the room,
then angle your double-jump back towards the higher ledge, and whip up. You
can also use the Wolf's Foot relic to jump across the room from the higher
ledge on the right side of the room.
Q. How do I get across the collasping bridge in the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab?
A. You need the Wolf's Foot relic.
