1.0 Intro
===============================================================================
Atelier Iris is part 6 of a long-running series in Japan, but this is the first
in the series that has been brought over to the US. After playing this game for
some time, I'm hoping that it won't be the only game that is translated to
English!
Although this game is 2D, I find the graphics most pleasing to the eye. The
graphics are extremely high-resolution, and very detailed. Another aspect of
the game that I find outstanding are the voice-overs.
The fighting style is basic RPG, with each player/enemy taking turns to
attack/defend, etc. When you have more than three characters in your party, you
can switch between the characters during battle.
One of the more unusual elements in this game is the alchemy section. You can
combine the "mana" that you collect during the course of the game to make
different items that will help you greatly in battles. As you progress in the
game, you will find more and more items that you will be able to create.
THe main character in this game is an alchemist called Klein. He is on a
journey to learn more about the science of alchemy, and meets up with a feisty
girl called Lita. This is the start of their journey together...
You can quick-search through this FAQ by looking through the table of contents
and copying and pasting the section you are looking for (Eg. 5.3 Tower of
Airfen).

===============================================================================
1. Klein Kiesling
Klein Kiesling, age 17, grandson of Dafune a famous alchemist, embarks on a
journey with Popo the Mana of wood, after his grandmother´s death, to surpass
her as an alchemist. He is from a place called Gazestein located west of the
Esviore region. He can extract mana from many items using his cane.
2. Lita Blanchimont
Lita, age 16, is a Galgazit monster hunter at Kavoc. She always seems to be
very bright and cheery. She meets Klein at the beginning of the game, and they
team up to fight monsters together. She fights using a claw, which has the
ability to attack multiple enemies. She is at Level 4 when she joins your
party at Hermil's gate.
3. Delsus
Delsus, age 24, loves alcohol and women. He hits on almost every woman he meets
but fails miserably every time. He joins your party pretty early in the game,
when he helps you escape from a group of Alkavana Knights. He is at level 8
when he joins your party, and his weapon is a bow.
5. Norn
Norn, age 13, is a young "cat-girl" who you meet when you search for the wizard
Zeldalia in the Poto Forest. Zeldalia asks her to help your party, and she
agrees. She joins your party at level 12, and her weapon can reduce HP as
well as MP.
6. Arlin
Arlin, age 18, is one of the most powerful fighters in your group. He seems to
be a mysterious person hiding some sort of secret. He joins your party at level
16.
7. Marietta
Marietta is also a sword fighter. She joins your party right after Arlin
leaves your party. Her brother is Beggur, and she seeks revenge against Mull
for the changes he has made to Beggur and the Alkavana Knights. She is at
Level 42 when she joins the party.

5.0 Walkthrough
===============================================================================
-----------------
5.1 Lapis Woods
-----------------
You begin the game with a flashback where Klein and Lita will be reminiscing
about how they first met. The next scene is of a Lady and a Cat Lady (Norn!).
Next, is a scene between two funny looking creatures, a Chief of Fire and a
Chief of Water. You probably won't understand most of the scenes completely
now, but if you ever replay the game again, you will understand them better!
Finally, you will get a scene of a Mysterious Man talking about a Ruby Prism.
Once all the cutscenes are over, Klein (you!) will get attacked by a Falcon
Hawk, and he suddenly discovers that he is out of elements, which is tough,
as they are his main fighting ability. Lita will come to your rescue, and
between the two of you, it should be an easy battle.
After the battle, view the ensuing scene, where Lita will call you a weakling!
She will offer to show you around Kavoc, the nearby town, but Klein will
refuse. Once the cutscene is over, jump up to the blue stone near the big
tree, and you will be given the option to view the Element Extraction element.
If this is your first time playing the game, I advise you to view it, as it
is a main part of the game. You can extract the stone, as well as many
of the shrubs around the area. Climb up the tree using the X button, and you
will find a Feather Charm inside a chest. Open the menu by pressing the
triangle button, and select Status to equip the Feather Charm to Klein.
Now, climb down from the tree and follow the path to the northwest. You will
encounter the Falcon Hawk once again, but it'll be easy now that you have
your elements. Use the Mana Synthesize to create an Ice Bomb, and attack the
Falcon Hawk to kill it with one blow. After the battle, Klein and Popo will
decide to go to the nearby town, Kavoc.
----------------
5.2 Kavoc Town
----------------
There are plenty of things to do here in Kavoc. You can extract all of the
barrels, boxes, fruit baskets, and flowers in the center of the town to add
to your mana collection. Each time you leave the area and return, all these
items will reappear, so you will have a continuous stock of certain types
of Mana. The pouch on top of the boxes in the middle of the area contains
280 Cole.
Towards the top of the screen, there are some small barrels near a door.
Jump on the barrels, and boxes, then up to the ledge. Walk east across the
small ledge to get a pouch with 260 Cole in it. Turn back and go straight
to the next screen. There is a weapons shop, run by a man named Hagel,
but you most probably do not have enough Cole yet to upgrade your weapons.
Exit the shop, and jump on top of the roof opposite to open the chest which
contains Pinenuts.
Return to the center area of Kavoc and enter Norman's shop (the door beside
the small barrels and boxes). Norman is the owner of the bar, and he will
ask you to do some errands for him, and he will pay you accordingly. He
will give you two lunch boxes to deliver to the Magic Shop and to the
Grocery Shop. You will also be able to access the journal, which you can
use to save your game.
Go outside, and go into the store at the bottom of the screen. This store
is run by Lyla, and she sells miscellaneous items like flour, salt, etc.
Talk to her to deliver the lunchbox then go outside. Go north now using the
passage next to the bar.
Walk onto the bridge, and you can get some Foul Water. If you go examine
the square-y object straight ahead, you can get Well Water. There should be
some Kavo Potato on the roof on the left of the "well". Go up the stairs,
and to the left. You should be able to get some Green Peppers and Magi
Grass around the green shrubbery. There are some Skinny Logs on the right
side of the entrance to the cathedral.
Now, return to the area near where you entered earlier. On the right, is
the Magic Store, run by Veola. Enter the store and talk to her to deliver
the lunchbox. She will advise you to go to the grocery store to talk to
Lyla, since you are an alchemist. Leave the store and go to the grocery
store in the main area of Kavoc.
Lyla will show you to the back room. There's a Mana Chest there. Examine
it to get a Heal Jar. You can then watch the Mana Item tutorial, if you
wish. You can synthesize the Heal Jar from now on using the Mana
Synthesize command in the menu. Lyla will come in and tell you about a
city which has many Mana Items. She wil advise you to talk to Norman, as
he knows more about the city.
Now, go back to the bar and talk to Norman. He will give you 100 Cole for
delivering the lunchboxes. Talk to him, and in the middle of your
conversation, you will be interrupted by a man called Delsus. He will tell
you about the tower to the west, and you will decide to go there to find
more mana. You can now travel to the Tower of Airfen.
Go back to the bar to save your game, and then exit the town.
---------------------
5.3 Tower of Airfen
---------------------
Walk south and enter Lapis Woods once again. You should be able to get quite
a few items from here, such as Karikari Nuts, Fresh Dancing, etc. The items
seem to be slightly different each time, so you need to see what they have
yourself.
After you have collected all the items, walk down the path to the east.
In the main map, follow the path until you reach a large tower, which is the
Tower of Airfen. Press X to enter. There are quite a few items that you can
collect here as well. Once you are done, walk to the middle of the pink
object in the middle of the area. It will teleport you to the top of the
tower. You will be able to see Henmil's Gate from here, and can access it
from now onwards. Open the Mana Chest nearby to get a new Mana Item, Herbal
Drop. However, you will not be able to synthesize it yet, as Popo cannot
handle Fire Elements. Descend the tower using the teleporter, and exit to
the world map.
-------------------
5.4 Henmil's Gate
-------------------
Henmil's Gate is located north of the Tower of Airfen. Once you enter, you will
view a cutscene. You will meet Lita, who will invite you to become a Galgazit.
She will then join your party.
You can save your game/heal your party members by talking to Popo at the
glowing square at the bottom left corner. Once you have healed/saved your game,
make your way back to Lapis Woods.
In Lapis Woods, you will meet up with 2 small kids, Dia and Yach. After Lita
mentions that they shouldn't be outside when there's no adult present, you
will meet Pamela, a ghost!
Return to Kavoc and Lita will inform you that Galgazits sign up for jobs at
the tavern (bar). After the conversation, Norman will allow you and Lita to
use the empty house located above the bar (jump on the barrels and ledge,
then head left). Once you enter the house, you will need to get Norman's
permission to use Mana Synthesize inside the base. He will agree on the
condition that you go to the Magic Shop and pick up a Tingleberry for him.
Leave the bar and go north to the next screen. When you enter the screen,
a cutscene will begin where a woman will ask you about the Flawless Marvel.
She is another alchemist, and will engage you in conversation.
Once you are done, enter the Magic Shop on the right and talk to Veola.
She will give you 3 Tingleberries. Return to the bar and give Norman
the Tingleberries. He will thank you, and then you will be able to
synthesize items at his shop from now on. Select the Synthesize option
and make the Meuniere. You can view the Shop Synthesis tutorial now if you
wish.
Item Synthesis is pretty useful, it can make you battle items/equipment, etc.
The more you synthesize, the more likely it will be to initiate sidequests,
and the rewards from the sidequests are worth the trouble!
Norman will also give you 5 Flour, 5 Green Powder, 5 Rock Sugar, 5 Ale, 5
Karikari Nuts, 5 Goat Milk, and 5 Canola Oil as a reward for getting him the
Tingleberries. Now, the two of you will head back to the base to spend the
night. View the ensuing cutscene. In the morning, you may want to synthesize
any Heal Jars/Ice bombs before venturing out. Go to Norman's bar to synthesize
any items that you can, as well as to Veola's for the same purpose. Keep in
mind that the more often you visit them, the more likely it is to trigger
some event that will increase your relationship with them, thus adding more
recipes to their synthesizable list.
Leave the town, and another man will come into town saying that there are
Growloons in the forest. Now is the time for you to earn some $$! You will
find yourself in Lapis Woods. View the cutscene with Arlin and then you will
have to battle some enemies. Once you have finished the battle, Lita will be
semi-impressed that you weren't the weakling that she thought you were. Klein
will destroy the Growloon, and then you need to make your way back to Kavoc.
Go to Norman's bar, and he will give you 500 Cole as a reward for destroying
the Growloon. He will also tell you about the Growloon Handbook, where you
can check your Growloon destroying status. Each time you kill a certain
number of Growloons, Norman will give you some Cole. You will also get the
opportunity to pick out a team name for the two of you. It doesn't matter
which name you pick, as it does not influence the course of the game.
Return to your base (you can watch a tutorial about Growloons here) and then
watch the cutscene, where a Thug will come in to the house, and instruct you
to go to the cathedral. The cathedral is located in the 2nd area of Kavoc,
slightly above Veola's Magic Shop.
Go to the cathedral, and watch the cutscene with Sir Beggur, ending in your
escape from the Alkavana Knights. You will meet Delsus again, who will bring
you to the Kavoc Sewers. He will now join your party!
-----------------
5.5 Kavoc Sewer
-----------------
In the sewer, there are lots of barrels around. Always examine the barrels
before extracting them, as sometimes they contain items, which are not
obtainable once the barrel has been extracted. Walk to the right and extract
the boxes, and continue to the end of the path. There is a chest here
containing a Blue Bracer, which you should equip to one of your characters
straight away.
Turn back and follow the path till you can go south at the junction. Follow
the path, then go east until you see a wooden bridge to the south. Go across
the bridge, and walk west. Extract one box and climb onto the remaining box,
and jump onto the purple blocks to open the chest containing 340 Cole. Go
back to the east and cross the second wooden bridge to the south. Head west
and jump over the sign. Check all the barrels for items, then extract the
boxes. There's a chest containing a Blue Mana in the corner.
Now, return to the wooden bridges, and head east past the purple and black
blocks until you exit the sewers. You will find yourself in a back room of
the Grocery Store. Go back to your base, and Delsus will suggest taking the
party to Lake Forwell to lie low. Lake Forwell is now accessible for travel.
Uru, the Mana of Fire, will agree to help your party, which means you can now
handle more different types of mana objects. He will also add a Destruction
Blast option to the Action Dial, which allows you to destroy certain items.
Before going to Lake Forwell, talk to Popo to heal your party. Now, you
should head back into the Sewers, stopping off at Norman's and Veola's on the
way to see if you can trigger any events. In the sewer, head east and follow
the path till you reach four purple blocks. Use your new Destruction Blast
skill to reach the chest inside containing Black Mana. Now, exit the sewers
and go back to the base to heal/save your game once more. You can leave
Kavoc and head to Lake Forwell now.
------------------
5.6 Lake Forwell
------------------
Watch the cutscene between Sir Beggur and Mull and then you will find
yourself at the World Map. Head east, and take the south junction. You can
enter the Outdoor Theatre to collect a pouch containing Dark Mana that is
located on the left hand side, near the red chest. Destroy the purple blocks
using Destruction Blast to get a pouch containing 120 Cole.
Leave the Outdoor Theatre, and continue south until you come across a field.
Enter the field and Extract the three Growloons here. Collect all the items
you can see here, including the pouch containing 260 Cole, then leave the
field and continue down the path until you arrive at Lake Forwell.
Delsus will head towards Gremlis's fish shop, where Gremlis will ask him to
run an errand for him. You will need to go to Lapis Woods to collect some
Stained Grass. Before you go to Lapis Woods, open the Mana Chest next to
Gremlis to pick up Sleepaid. Enter the wooden house near the water to
collect a pouch containing Twisted Lando, and another containing Feather
Charm. Exit the house, and go onto the wooden bridge. Extract one wooden
box, and climb up to get the Red Mana and Dark Mana. Now, make your way
to Lapis Woods (follow the path south, then west).
View the cutscene, and when you regain control, go up the big tree and press
X to climb it. You can find Broken Grass here, which is the best substitue
for Stained Grass. Return to Lake Forwell and give Gremlis the Broken Grass.
He will give you 325 Cole as a reward. Delsus now suggests that it is safe
to go back to Kavoc, so that is your next destination.
------------------
5.7 Kavoc/Sewers
------------------
Talk to Norman and he will tell you that you're now the talk of the town.
Norman will also tell you that there have been rumours of a ghost in the
sewers. Check the Growloon Handbook to get your reward, then head to the
sewers.
You will find Yach and Dia talking about the ghost just outside the sewer
entrance. After the scene, enter the sewer and head south, then east. You
will meet Pamela there, who tells you that she is not the one who has been
scaring people. Delsus will then suggest to return to the base.
Once you are in the base, Dia will come in and say that Yach is missing.
Pamela comes in too and says that she saw Yach heading for the Sewer.
Heal/save your game as there is a battle coming up. Make sure you have a
few Bomb Ice stocked up.
Go back to the sewers, and head south, then east. Cross the wooden bridges
to the south. You will find Yach there, about to be attacked by the other
ghost! Lita will push him aside and take the hit instead. Time to start the
battle...
You cannot use physical attacks against this enemy, as it is a Ghost. You will
need to use Lita's Force Blast/Klein's Bomb Ice. Take out the Mini Punis and
the Red Puni before focusing on the Ghost. It shouldn't be too difficult
to defeat, a couple of Bomb Ices should take it out. Dia will give you a Red
Bracer in appreciation for helping Yach. Return to your base now.
Lita will feel funny now, and needs to take a nap. Your party is now down to
yourself and Delsus. Go back to the bar and talk to Norman. He will give you
5 Milk for getting rid of the ghost, and 3 Meunieres, which you have to give
to Lita.
Go back to Kavoc's 2nd area, and back to the main area again to trigger another
cutscene with the Cat Lady. Now, return to the base to check on Lita. She's
feeling better now and will rejoin your party. Heal/save your game and leave
the house.
Outside, you notice that everyone is excited over the show that is playing at
the Outdoor Theatre, so it's time for you to head there as well.
---------------------
5.8 Outdoor Theatre
---------------------
At the Outdoor Theatre, the Cat Lady will pickpocket several people standing
around and disappear. Your book that was given to you by your grandmother is
missing! Head back to Kavoc, and you will find her, but she will disappear yet
again. Arlin says that she will be headed towards the forest, so you need to go
there as well (save your game first!).
In Lapis Woods, the Cat Lady will be stopped by Sir Beggur and his knights.
They will try to attack her, but your party will come to her rescue. You will
need to fight Sir Beggur and two of the Alkavana Knights, Ein and Zwei. Focus
on Ein and Zwei first, as they have less HP than Sir Beggur. Use all your
skills, and Klein's Ice Bombs to defeat them. Use the Heal Jars when your
HP is low to heal your party.
The Cat Lady will disappear after the battle again! You can watch the Battle
Tutorial now. Head to Kavoc once you're done to save/heal your party. In your
base, Delsus will tell you your next destination is Poto's forest. Make your
way to Lake Forwell. The old man will tell you that you cannot travel to the
ruins without a visa. Delsus will suggest taking a boat there. Talk to the
boatman at the bottom of the screen, and he will take you to the other side
of the river in his boat.
--------------------------
5.9 Proselyte Encampment
--------------------------
Leave the crossroads, and head east to the Proselyte Encampment. Open the Mana
Chest to obtain Flame. You can also save your game here if you wish. There
is a Knight at the other side of the camp, who will not let you pass until
you have obtained a visa.
Leave the camp, and you will be stopped by Neun, who will tell you to give
the Mana Item back. No matter which option you choose, you will still get
to keep the item.
Head back to the Crossroads, and then north to the Collector's Caravan. You will
meet Lector here. She sells Visas and will agree to give you one if you make her
an Items List. Everytime you get new items, you can tell Lector about them.
After you reach a certain number, she will give you a reward. There are certain
combinations of items that will get you special items like unlocking the
picture gallery, etc. You can take the Collector System tutorial now.
After the tutorial, talk to Lector once more to get a reward for the items that
you have already collected, then go back to the Proselyte Encampment. The
knight will let you pass now that you have a visa.
---------------------------
5.10 Iris's Resting Place
---------------------------
Follow the path in the World Map until you reach Iris's Resting Place. Follow
the path, till you reach a point with some rubble blocking your way. Extract it
and continue onward. There's a chest containing a Red Bracer in front of you,
and several other items lying around. Walk left and you can see a door which
leads you to a Furnace. Examine the shelves in front of you to get Yellow Mana
and a Black Mana, and pick up the pouch containing 370 Cole. You can save/heal
your party here as well. You may want to consider going in and out of this
room so that you can pick up more Thin Metal/Thick Metal Rod/Broken Handles.
Exit the room and go up the flight of stairs. You can see two electrically
charged items, which will damage your health if you walk to close. Be careful,
and extract them for Lightning Mana. Continue walking along the path until you
see the next cutscene. Further along the path, you will see a floating
Growloon, which you can kill by jumping and using the Destruction Blast ability.
Continue past the blocks and extract the next Growloon. Jump up onto the blocks
and continue down the path. Further on, you will see a statue.
Examine the statue, and you will meet Plua, a Mana of Darkness. She will agree
to help your party. Walk further ahead, and extract the purple orb you see to
get some extra elements. Go up the flight of stairs, turn right, and head
south, and you should see a Mana Chest containing a Mana Jar. Head back north
and turn right and jump over the purple blocks. Walk to the right and jump up
the purple blocks and blue stairway to extract the Growloon. Open the chest
to get a Sorcerer Support, and go back down.
Continue to the left, and go down the first flight of stairs, then down the
right set of stairs. Jump down onto the black block and continue to the left
area. You will meet Mull, and have an interesting cutscene with him. Now,
continue walking to the left, and leave Iris's Resting Place.
--------------------
5.11 Poto's Forest
--------------------
In Poto's Forest, you're searching for Zeldalia's house, which is hidden
somewhere inside. There are quite a few things that you can extract in the
forest to get mana. Don't try to get the chest, you can't reach it yet.
Walk to the east and cross the bridge. Extract the shrubs to get the pouch
containing Glowing Mana. Now, return to the previous area.
Walk to the north west and cross the bridge. You can get River Water from
here. Once you have crossed the bridge, follow the path and extract the
logs to get the chest on the top containing 360 Cole. Further up north,
there's a huge pile of logs. Extract them to find a chest containing some
Cole. Now, walk back to the log you used to cross the river and jump up
onto the ledge just above it. Walk to the west, then cross the bridge
and head to the other area of the forest.
You can find Zeldalia's house here. Examine all the barrels to collect
string. Don't waste your time trying to get the Mana Chest on top of the
pumpkin, as you can't reach it yet. Save/heal your party and then enter
Zeldalia's house.
View the cutscene, and then you will have to battle Norn (the Cat Lady) to
prove you are worthy of owning the book. Focus your attacks on all the Puni
first, then only on Norn. Use Lita's Force Blast to take out 3 Puni, and
Klein's Wide Item combined with Flame, to take out a few others. If your
party's HP is low, use Klein's Wide Item and Heal Jar to heal your party.
Once you defeat Norn, you will regain the book that was stolen from you.
Watch the cutscene, and Zeldalia will ask Norn to follow your party. She
will instruct you to go to Iris' Resting Place.
** Note: In Poto's Forest, once Norn has joined your part, you will
occasionally meet Were Cats. You can ask them to Give you something, which
will result in the Were Cat giving you a Food Item, or Do something for
your party, where it will heal you. **
Go up to the second level in Zeldalia's house and collect the items outside
the house (extratable orb and Ancient Mask). Talk to Nyaron, the cat, and
he will open a shop for you. Buy any items you want (you should buy Magic in
7 Days and give it to Veola later, so that she will add more recipes to her
synthesizable list), and then talk to Zeldalia once more. She will give you
a choice of either a skill or an item. It doesn't really matter which one
you take, as you will be able to get the other choice later on in the game.
Once you have made your choice, leave Zeldalia's house. Save/heal your party
and head east. Cross the bridge, and jump down from the ledge, then cross
the 2nd bridge. Head back south east to Iris's Resting Place, which was
where you came from earlier.
You will need to go to the Pedestals in Iris's Resting Place. Head east all
the way, then jump onto the black block. Go south, and follow the path.
Use Destruction Blast on the purple blocks so that you can continue onward.
Extract the lightning items, then head left up the couple of stairs. At
the pedastals, you will get a cutscene, and all 3 of your Mana will jump onto
the pedestals. This will cause the lightning that was blocking the exit to
disappear.
Go back to the north, and then up the stairs to the west. Continue westwards
all the way, and go up another flight of stairs. Extract any rubble lying
around, and walk to the door.
View the cutscene, and Klein and Lita will vanish! You will discover some
shocking news here...
Now, you will have to make your way back to Zeldalia's house to ask her
exactly what is going on. Head down the stairs, and jump down onto the black
block. Go westwards to reach Poto's Forest. Head north-west, and cross the
bridge, jump up to the ledge, and head west. Once you have reached her house,
Zeldalia will give you Mana Bath and the Mana Protection abilities for Lita
(as well as the tutorials).
You will decide to go and find Mull now, and Arlin will enter Zeldalia's house.
He will battle you (you can't win anyway, so don't even bother trying!). Once
the battle is over, you will have a few flashbacks of your time with Lita.
Klein will decide to go to Avenberry in order to make a Ruby Prism to match
Mull. Arlin will join your party, as he has business in Avenberry. In order
to go to Avenberry, you will need to open Henmil's Gate.
Equip your Mana to your party members using the Triangle button, then save/heal
your party outside Zeldalia's house and then return to Iris's Resting Place.
However, you will be transported to another area, where you will learn how to
synthesize your weapons from Paka. Talk to Pattet, and he will open a shop for
you. Pick up the Blue Mana, Green Mana, and Glowing Mana from the bottom of
this area. On the top level, pick up the Yellow Mana, Red Mana and Black Mana.
There's also a Speedster weapon at the top, and a Comet Stone. Now, leave the
area via the transporter on the left, and warp back to Kavoc.
** This transporter is very useful, because you should now be able to warp to
different areas of the World Map without having to make your way there
yourself, battling enemies as you go along. **
Return to your base in Kavoc, and watch the cutscene. Once that is over, you
will set out to find Delsus, in the bar. You will see him trying to hit on a
lady, but fail miserably. You will be able to travel to the Puni God now, and
Delsus will rejoin your party. Talk to Norman before you leave, and he will
give you a Monster's List, which you can view anytime when you talk to Lita
in a Camp. Head to the 2nd area in Kavoc to view a cutscene with Rurona. Also
stop by Veola's to give her the book you bought from the cat's shop in
Zeldalia's house. Try and synthesize any new items in Veola's/Norman's shop.
Before you go to the Puni God, you may want to visit the Collector's Caravan
via Lake Forwel first to show Lector the new items that you have collected.
---------------
5.12 Puni God
---------------
To get to the Puni God, you need to go through Lapis Woods, and continue till
you pass the Tower Airfen. Head west at the junction and continue down the
path until you see a Giant Puni. That is your next destination!
There's a pouch on the left of the Puni God containing 260 Cole. Walk inside
once you have taken the pouch. Keep walking down the path until you meet the
Puni Brothers. They will challenge you to a fight, and once you have defeated
them, you will get Frozen Rain, which you will need to give to Norman later on.
Keep walking down the path until you see a chest that contains Dragon Fangs.
A little further, you will see a black crystal that you can jump over to get a
Dark Mana. Continue onwards till you see a Mana Chest containing a Love Gem.
A little further, there is another chest containing Fairy Claw, which you
should equip to Lita, and further on, a pouch containing 1640 Cole. Soon, you
will reach a Super Puni, and have to battle him.
However, the battle doesn't just consist of the Super Puni, but also Gold Puni
and some Red Puni! Take out the other Punis before focusing on the Super Puni.
After you defeat them, you will receive the Super Puni Ball. Return to the
World Map (save your game first!) and head back to Kavoc.
In Kavoc, go to the bar and talk to Pilke (the fairy-like creature at the top
right of the bar). Give him the Super Puni Ball in exchange for a Gust Sphere.
Now, head to the Weapons Shop which is located above your base (instead of
turning left to your base, go up). You will get a cutscene of Rurona and a
Mana. Once that is over, go into the shop and talk to Hagel, the owner.
Hagel will ask you to go to Arcose to pick up some mineral for him, and you
will now be able to travel to Arcose. You should head back to your base first
to give Lita a bath, and save your game.
-------------
5.13 Arcose
-------------
To get to Arcose, you need to head back to Poto's Forest, via Iris's Resting
Place. Once you are in Poto's Forest, walk to the east and cross the river
using the log. Walk to the north and you will be able to exit via a new path.
Once you are out of the forest, head south past a mine until you reach Arcose.
In Arcose, there will be a cutscene between your party and Lector. Once you
regain control, walk up the flight of stairs and into the left building, where
you will meet Villa. Villa will ask you to find her sister, who went to Alexia
Cave. Go out of the shop, and into the shop on the right. View the cutscene
with Blaire, and then synthesize as many items as you can.
Once you're done synthesizing, exit her bakery, and enter the shop to the
right. Check out Haan's shop, and buy any items you wish. Exit his shop, then
head up another flight of stairs where you will see another transporter. You
should be able to transport between Arcose and Kavoc now. Get the Dark Mana
just below the transporter, and a pouch containing 360 Cole hidden somewhere
below the Mana.
Leave Arcose now, and head to Alexia Cave.
------------------
5.14 Alexia Cave
------------------
Head east from Arcose and follow the path until you reach a volcano (Valiant
Path). In order to reach Alexia Cave, you need to go through the Valiant Path.
If you want, you can jump over the lava pits where you see tiny rock-like bits
in the lava to extract the Growloons and get an Ancient Mask, as well as a
Mana Item, Mark of Courage. Return to the front of the cave, and walk to the
left to exit the Valiant Path.
Keep following the path until you reach Alexia Cave. When you reach the cave,
you will see Villa's sister trapped by a Growloon. Extract the Growloon in
front of you, then walk under the bridge, and up the staircase. Extract the
stones that are blocking the way so that you can get by. Continue north and
open the chest containing a Poison Blade. Head east, across the blue bridge
and examine the statue, and Diemia, the Mana of Stone will agree to help
your party. You can take the Stepping Stone tutorial here if you wish.
Don't forget to equip Diemia to one of your characters before moving on.
Now, walk back to the west and jump up to the ledge using the wooden boxes.
Extract the Growloon and continue to the right, extracting the rocks as you
go past, and head to the 2nd area of Alexia Cave.
Walk east and jump down across the lava puddle. There should be a save point
nearby where you should save/heal your party. Once you are done, contine east
to the path down the stairs and open the chest containing Red Mana, then head
to the next area.
Get the Gold Legion and the pouch containing some Cole. Use the Stone Mana in
order to jump up to the higher ledge and extract the Growloon. You can extract
the crystals as well to collect mana. Further on, you will meet Hute, Villa's
sister. Now that you have found her, return to the entrance of the cave by
jumping down to the stone on the right. You will get a cutscene with Villa
and Hute, and receive 2 Comet Stones and the Ore, which Hagel asked for.
Return to Arcose now, and go into the first house on the left to get a cutscene
of the old woman and Norn. Then, go and save/heal your party before
transporting yourself back to Kavoc.
Back in Kavoc, go to Hagel's Weapon Shop and give him the Ore, and he will
reward you with a song (nooo!!) and a Star Piece. Stop by Norman's bar and
check the Growloon record. You should be able to collect another reward by now.
-------------------------------
5.15 Diemia's Item Collection
-------------------------------
Now that you have Diemia, you should be able to pick up some items that were
not accessible previously. If you go to the main area of Kavoc, you should see
a chest at the top of a ladder. If you summon the Stone Mana near the boxes,
you should be able to get to the chest to get an Edge Cast.
Next, go to the Kavoc Sewers and head east all the way. Summon Diemia once more
so that you can jump up the purple blocks. Continue to the black blocks and
summon Diemia again to get the Mana Chest containing Obake Bag.
Now, head to Iris's Resting Place, where the Furnace is. Summon Diemia, so
that you can reach the ledge on the right of the Furnace. You can pick up
some items, and open a Mana Chest containing a Cure Jar, another chest
containing Sylvan Ring. You can also extract the Growloon here.
The next area that you are headed to is Zeldalia's house in Poto's Forest. In
front of her house, there is a big pumpkin with a Mana Chest on top of it.
Use Diemia to get to the chest to obtain Unholy Water. Now, go into Zeldalia's
house and warp back to Kavoc using the transporter on the 2nd floor.
----------------------
5.16 Kavoc Revisited
----------------------
Head back to your base and view the next cutscene before saving your game.
Then, head towards the cathedral, and you will see another cutscene of Sir
Beggur and a lady arguing. Go back to your base, and view the next cutscene
between Norn and Delsus. Halfway though, Norn will walk out from the base and
get kidnapped by Beggur. Your party will receive a message telling you to head
to the sewers if you want to see Norn again.
Go to the sewers, and head to the electrically charged area. You will see a
cutscene between Beggur, and his men. Arlin will magically rescue Norn, and
Beggur will retreat together with his men.
Follow them down the path and jump over the black block to go down the stairs.
Ride the log and it will transport you to the Cathedral! It's time now to do
battle with Sir Beggur and his men.
Sir Beggur has 3 men fighting alongside him, together with a pig. Take out the
pig first, then concentrate on Neun, as she has the ability to heal the party.
Use skills such as Arlin's Double and Lita's Force Blast to destroy the
enemies. Klein's Wide Item & Heal Jar can heal your party when low on HP.
After defeating them, you will land up in the base where your party decides
that the next destination will be Fort Galga. Pilke will intrude and tell you
that he can get you through Fort Galga. Save/heal your party once you regain
control of your character, then visit Norman's & Veola's to synthesize any
new recipes. Then, leave Kavoc via the transporter.
You should make a sidetrip to the Collector's Caravan at this point in the
game. Lector will offer Norn a pocket size item list if Norn allows Lector to
touch her ears. Norn will agree, and you will be able to view the item list
when you talk to Norn at Camp. Show Lector your new items to gain your reward.
There is also a status on the right side of the screen. Examine it, and Nymph,
the Mana of Water will agree to help your party. You can take the Barrier
tutorial at this point in time. Equip Nymph to one of your characters, then
head to Fort Galga.
-----------------
5.17 Fort Galga
-----------------
Fort Galga is located north of Lake Forwell, you can't possibly miss it! Once
you enter the fort, you will see Pilke and two chickens! He will tell you that
you need to take out all the thieves so that they cannot fire the cannons.
When the cutscene is over, save/heal your party and then climb up the ladder.
You will enter into battle with two thieves. Once you have defeated them, head
northwest and jump over the conveyor belt to battle a group of thieves and a
rogue. Next, climb up the staircase and jump over the conveyor belt to battle
another group of thieves. After the battle, open the Mana Chest to get an
Aeroangel. Head back to the bottom of the fort and save your game.
Next, walk to the right and climb up the ladder, and head to the top, fighting
battles as you go along. Once you defeat the last group of enemies, you will
get a cutscene of Pilke and his fairy friends who finally showed up. Before
you go down to the bottom, open the two chests to get Me, Myself & Bomb and a
Hulking Smasher.
Return to the bottom and save/heal your party then go up the middle ladder.
The level will split to a left area and a right area. It doesn't matter which
one you take first, you will have to battle a group of enemies each time. Once
you have defeated both sides, you may want to go back down and save your game
one more time as a boss battle is coming up.
Right at the top, you will face Mr. Brigand, who is accompanied by a group of
gunners and wolves. You should focus on the wolves first as their HP is
significantly lower, and then you can focus on the gunners. Sometimes, Mr.
Brigand will summon a Falcon Hawk to come and do battle alongside him. In
such cases, take out the Falcon Hawk first, then focus on Mr. Brigand again.
After defeating Mr. Brigand, pick up the two pouches on the left containing
Cole, then go to the bottom of the fort and save your game. Continue to the
right hand side to exit to the World Map at the other side of the fort.
----------------------
5.18 Cleft of Nelvia
----------------------
Head north until you reach a junction, then take the left path to enter a
Cliff. Summon the Stone Mana to climb up. You can extract two Growloons here
before exiting to the World Map again. Continue north until you reach the
Cleft of Nelvia.
Follow the path till you reach a Growloon. You should be able to destroy it
by jumping and extracting/destruction blasting it. Continue down the path
until you see some purple blocks. Destruction Blast these blocks so that you
can get to the pouch containing Red Mana.
Keep following the path and extract the Growloon then go down a flight of
stairs. Jump across the ledges to reach another Mana statue here. Examine
it, and Silwest, the Wind Mana, will agree to help your party. Equip Silwest
to one of your character before moving on.
Now, go back up the stairs/ramps and walk into the small shack on the right.
Get all the items lying around and then exit through the other side. Continue
along the path until you reach a ladder, and climb down it. Enter the other
building to save/heal your party then exit the building.
Continue down till you reach the bottom of the Cleft of Nelvia. Collect all
the items around the area, then exit through the south east. You will discover
a spring here. Watch the cutscene, and then the Spirit of Spring will give you
a choice between two items; a Jewel, or a Stone. Either one will bring you
the same item, the Mirror of Twilight, which is required later on to open
Henmil's Gate. Pick up the Raflesia and Stained grass in the area before
moving on. Near the top, there's a sign, and a pouch on the right containing
a Gilded Sword.
Next, walk all the way to the bottom, and to the left to find another path.
Extract the trees blocking your path, and you should be able to collect a
pouch containing a Buffer Ring. Now, comes the horrible news...unfortunately
you will have to climb all the way up again, as this is the only way the
storyline advances!
When you reach the top, you will see a cutscene with Sir Beggur. Once that is
over, continue to the east until you see a building "Empty Tavern". Enter, and
collect 360 Cole from the first pouch and Sylph's Kiss from the other. There
are also two more Growloon that you can extract here, you may have to summon
the Stone Mana to get one of them. Head into the transporter to return to
Kavoc.
In Kavoc, visit all the shops to synthesize/stock up on items, then head back
to your base. Once you have healed/saved your game, go outside, and you will
see a cutscene with people talking about the Growloons in Poto's forest. Norn
will ask you to check up on Zeldalia, so you will have to return to Poto's
FOrest.
--------------------
5.19 Poto's Forest
--------------------
Once you reach Poto's Forest, you will discover that there are a large number
of Growloons around the area. Apparently, if you extract them all before
continuing the storyline, it will help in the upcoming boss battle, but I
have not confirmed this personally. After you view the cutscene, head all
the way to the east. There's a Growloon here, and a chest containing some
Cole. Return to the entrace of Poto's Forest, and extract the two Growloons
here. Now, head to the north west towards the bridge.
Cross the bridge, but do not jump on the ledge. Follow the path to the east
until you reach the pile of logs. Extract one log from each pile so that you
can jump up to the top and extract the Growloon. Continue to the north, and
summon the Stone Mana at the next pile of logs. There are two more Growloons
at the top.
Once you are rid of all the Growloons, you will automatically land up at
Zeldalia's house. Watch the cutscene, then heal/save your game, and then
head south for the next boss battle. You will need to battle against the
Wind Mana.
You can only attack the Jin Rider using Mana attacks or Klein's Mana Item,
as physical attacks will have no effect on him. Use Klein to heal everyone
else, and the other two party members will focus on attacking the Jin Rider.
Arlin's Mana Strike, and Lita's Force Blast are particularly effective.
Once you have defeated him, you will discover the Mirror of Dawn, which is
the second mirror needed to open Henmil'S Gate later on. There is also a Mana
Chest containing Newlife.
-------------------
5.20 Kavoc/Arcose
-------------------
Now, return to Kavoc via the transporter on the 2nd level in Zeldalia's house.
Talk to Norman to get 1200 Cole as a reward for clearing Poto's Forest of
the Growloons, and check the Growloon handbook. Talk to Norman to synthesize
any new items, and visit Veola to do the same thing. Make sure you buy or
synthesize quite a few bombs before moving on.
Once you have saved your game, exit Kavoc. It's time to head to Henmil's Gate
now that you have the two mirrors. Go through Lapis Woods and follow the path
past the Tower of Airfen, then take the north junction.
Enter Henmil's Gate and you will see a cutscene where you discover that you
need yet another item before you can open the gate. Head back to Kavoc through
the transporter.
In Kavoc, you will see another cutscene with the Alkavana Knights and Marietta.
You will then be thrown into another fight versus six Alkavana Knights. Once
you have defeated them, return to your base and your party will decide that
you should head to Alexia Cave to examine the locked door that you discovered
earlier.
You will need to get the key, which is located in Arcose. You can warp to
Arcose via the transporter in Veola's Magic Shop.
In Arcose, go to Villa's shop, and she will tell you that you should go talk
to her sister, Hute, about the cave. You can find Hute in the Mine, which is
located northwest of Arcose.
In Hute's store, she will give you the key to Alexia Cave, and you will have
to head there now. Walk back to Arcose, and follow the path, passing the
Valiant Path, till you reach Alexia Cave.
------------------
5.21 Alexia Cave
------------------
In Alexia Cave, go under the bridge, and head toward the 2nd area. Save your
game at the camp, and make sure your party is fully prepared for the battle
ahead, as it is going to be tough!
Now, head downwards till you reach the door, and you will discover a dragon
that has been frozen. However, the ice will start to melt, and the dragon will
suddenly attack you.
Klein will most probably be healing almost every round, if you use Wide Item,
and the Heal Jar, you may be able to heal all party members at one go. Use
Arlin's Double, and Lita's Force Blast to attack. Another good method is to
buy/synthesize the bombs from Veola's Magic Shop in Kavoc and attack the
dragon using these bombs. Each bomb should deal about 200 damage to the
dragon.
Watch the cutscene after you defeat the dragon, then head back to Kavoc to
replenish your items/heal/save your game. Then, make your way to the Town of
Duran.
-------------------------
5.22 Ka Luda Playground
-------------------------
In order to get to the Town of Duran, you will need to pass through Ka Luda
Playground, which is a huge chessboard. Go through Lapis Woods, past the
Tower of Airfen, then west towards the Puni God. Continue along the path
and you should reach it.
Once you reach Ka Luda, go up a flight of stairs, then head right to get a
pouch containing Blue Mana. Now, head back to the left and go up the stairs.
Go straight till the end (make sure you are on the left hand side of the
chess pieces). Then, go down into the chessboard through the opening next to
you. Continue following the path until you reach a junction heading down.
You need to keep your eyes peeled as the entrance is quite hidden.
Then, go left to open a chest containing an Angel Feather. Go to the far
right, then north and head back into the maze again. Once you are out of
the maze, go right, and pick up a pouch containing some Cole.
Go down the stairs, but do not go down the ladder just yet. Head down the
path to the corner. You will get to open a Mana Chest containing the Mark
of Weakness. Now, go back to the ladder to exit to the World Map.
--------------------
5.23 Town of Duran
--------------------
Follow the path until you reach a Snowfield. Pick up a pouch containing the
Sylph's Kiss, and open the Mana Chest containing the Lightning Rod. Now, exit
to the World Map and follow the path until you come to the town.
View the cutscene, and then go near the Camp area on the left to pick up a
pouch containing 300 Cole. Now, go to the right, and go up the stairs and to
the left. There's another pouch containing more Cole.
Go back down the stairs and into the stained-glass house to meet Delsus's
grandmother, who runs the shop. Go into the room located on the left to meet
Delsus's father. He will tell you that he'll only help if Delsus passes the
Test of Parodius, which was the reason that Delsus ran away from the village
in the beginning.
Once the cutscene is over, pick up the two pouches containing the Groovecube
and Tiny Gear, then exit the room. You can save at the Camp here, or at the
Snowfield, since that's nearer.
------------------------
5.24 Ka Luda Revisited
------------------------
Go back to Ka Luda, and stand in front of the chest pieces to view a cutscene.
Now, what you need to do, is to use your Destruction Blast ability to push the
white pawn pieces forward/backwards/diagonally until there is a pawn on each
of the glowing squares.
Once you're done with that, you will receive a Flame Sphere. Before you leave,
there is one more thing that can be done here. If you place 4 of the purple
pawns on the glowing squares and another purple one on the middle square with
the design, you can receive Norn's Illusion Skill.
Place the purple pawn on the middle square first, then do the rest. Otherwise,
you will need to fight an extra battle later on. You will now get Norn's Skill.
Head back to the Town of Duran, and watch the cutscene. In the morning, go and
talk to Delsus's father to find out more about the Land of Mana. He will tell
you that it can only be reached through a forest, but no one has ever returned
from that mysterious woods. You can now travel to the Forest of Ocean Mist.
First, exit the shop, and go north. There are some Tingleberries on the left
ledge. Enter the house on the right, and use the transporter to go to Kavoc
& restock any items/synthesize, etc. You can do the same at Arcose too, if you
wish. Return to the Town of Duran once you are done.
---------------------------
5.25 Forest of Ocean Mist
---------------------------
Head south from the Town of Duran, until you reach the Forest of Ocean Mist.
Collect all the Mana lying around, before you step onto the red transporter.
Cross the bridge and head south to collect the green pouch containing Prismoon.
Head to the upper path, and extract the crystal that is blocking your way.
Jump up all the way until you reach a large tree.
Climb down the ladder, and head north. Follow the path until you see a
slightly different coloured stone. Step onto it, and it will bring you to the
other side. Collect the Unue on the ground, then step into the red transporter
to collect the Silver Mana, then step back into the red transporter. Step
onto the 2nd differently coloured stone.
Go up the ladder and follow the path until you are blocked by some
obstructions. Destroy/extract them, and continue until you reach another red
transporter. View the next cutscene, then save your game at the next Camp on
the right. Continue to the left area and extract the wall. You should be at
the World Map now. Follow the path until you reach the Garden of Eternity.
-------------------------
5.26 Garden of Eternity
-------------------------
Summon the Stone Mana so that you can jump up the ledge. Do this twice so that
you can climb all the way to the top and extract the Growloon. Head up to the
next screen and open the chest containing Soul Ring, then head back down to the
previous screen. Walk to the west, and extract the second Growloon. Continue
to the west and open the chest containing Blue Mana. Now, head back to the
east and jump down the ledges.
Continue to the west until you see a Growloon. Summon the Stone Mana, and
extract it. The pouch nearby contains 2400 Cole. Jump down and head west to the
next screen.
In the second area, follow the path until you see a pouch. Extract the rocks
and pick up the pouch which contains 1840 Cole. Slightly further up, you will
see two piles of rocks. Extrac them so you can reach the pouches at the top
which contain Blue Mana, and Yellow Mana. Follow the left side until you can
jump up, and follow the upper path. Head south, and extract the bushes in your
way. Collect the pouch containing the Cole, and continue southwards until you
see a Mana Chest containing Meteor.
Go back to the north, and enter the passageway to the east. Climb down the
stairs and continue onwards, extracting the Growloons as you go along. You may
have to use Destruction Blast on one of the Growloons, as you won't be able to
reach it using Extract. Head east to the next screen, follow the path to the
left, then jump up to the higher level to get to the chest containing
Blue Mana. Go back down, and then head to the other side's higher ground.
Summon the Stone Mana on the right to help you get up, then head north. You
should be in the World Map now.
-------------------
5.27 Land of Mana
-------------------
Head north, and go east at the junction to reach the land of Mana. Watch the
cutscene with the Mana Chiefs. The Mana Chiefs will tell your party that you
will need to prove yourself by going to the ruin called Flawless Marvel to
find the Primal Gem. You will need to return with the gem, and then the Mana
Chiefs will help you.
Talk to Valco (the one resembling Uru) on the bottom right of your screen. He
will open up a shop for you. However, the currency in the Land of Mana is
Pendelook, which you can synthesize at Veola's shop.
**Note: You will need to get many Pendelook to buy the items from his shop.
Collect Mini Pendelook from places like the mine. Go in and out of the ore
shop, so that the Mini Pendelook will respawn. Use the Mini Pendelook to
synthesize Pendelook in Veola's Magic Shop. **
Open the chest on the right, which contains Wisdom Cane. Save/heal your party
at the camp, on the top left, then exit the Land of Mana. Head north, and
follow the path until you reach the Gates of Change. Step into the transporter,
then once again, and you will find yourself back at the Tower of Airfen.
Head back to your base in Kavoc, and Arlin will bring you the Lapis Woods and
do battle with you. You will most likely lose, but Arlin will say that you
have improved. You will return to the base after that. Your party will decide
to look for Rurona, because she told you previously that she had found the
Flawless Marvel. Do the normal things (eg. heal Lita/synthesize) before
heading to Arcose.
---------------------
5.28 Flawless Marvel
---------------------
Go to Arcose and find Rurona to talk to her about the Flawless Marvel. She is
standing in the middle section of the town. She will tell you she has just
returned from the Flawless Marvel. It was too rough for her, so she had to turn
back. You will ask her for directions, and you should be able to travel to the
Flawless Marvel from now on.
Before you start your journey, make sure you go to Kavoc and stock up on as
many damage items as you can at the Magic Store. The reason for this will
become apparent later.
The fastest way to get there is to warp to the town of Duran. Exit the town
and head west. Take the upper left path at the fork and follow the path until
you reach the Flawless Marvel.
When you enter, go right, then up the stairs. You can synthesize the Growloon
here. Continue left until you get a pouch containing 700 Cole. Further on,
you will find another Growloon. Go up the staircase and enter the transporter.
It will bring you to a stepping-stone area, where you can synthesize yet
another Growloon. Go down the stairs and synthesize the growloon, then enter
the lower transporter.
Go straight into the next transporter, AND the next. Take the right path and
enter the transporter to find Groovecube and a chest containing a Crystal Claw.
Go back to the transporter, climb up the stairs and follow the path, past the
next transporter, and down the stairs to another transporter.
The next few paths are pretty linear, and will lead you to a chest containing
a Master of Magic by going straight ahead. Jump up to the next level using the
block, and go right. There is a pouch containing 800 Cole. Now, go back all
the way to the left and use the Stone Mana to jump up to the transporter.
Extract the round object to get some life elements, and you will find a
statue containing the Life Mana, Aion! This will add the Life Skill to the
Action Dial.
Return to the multi-storey area, and jump up to the next level. You can rest
and save your game in the tent here. Make sure you have lots of healing items
and a few Mark of Weakness.
Once you have saved, go left up the staircase. Open the Mana Chest to receive
a Heal Bulb, which you are now able to synthesize. Synthesize a few Heal
Bulbs, and Lightning Rods. Now go back to the save point, and take the right
staircase this time. Walk to the middle of the area and view the cutscene.
The battle against Prism is one of the toughest yet. His attacks are damaging,
and when you THINK you are close to defeating him, he will use a Refuel command
which has the ability to heal him 600-700 HP at one time! Use Klein to cast
Power Item (if you have the skill) & Mark of Weakness so that Prism's defense
is lowered. Use Arlin's Double attack as well as Lita's Rock Smash. Also use
Klein's Power Item & Lightning Rod which can do about 800 Damage. For other
players, I found them useful in throwing damage items such as Spike Bomber,
Giga Craft, etc. DOn't be discourage if you lose in the beginning, after
awhile, you will get the hang of it!
After defeating Prism, you will receive the Primal Gem. Return to the save
point and heal/save, then it's time to exit the Flawless Marvel. Once you're
in the world map, follow the path, and take the east junction. Walk to the
Town of Duran, and then warp to The Land of Mana using the teleporter in the
house to the north.
Watch the cutscene and you will receive the Ring of Iris. Return to the normal
world using the Gates of Change and view the cutscene at the Tower of Airfen.
You should use this time to re-visit all the towns and synthesize/give Lita
a bath, etc.
Whn you're ready, head towards Henmil's Gate through Lapis Woods and past the
Tower of Airfen (take the north path at the junction).
Henmil's Gate
--------------
Klein will be able to open the gate using the items you have previously
obtained.
----------------------------------------
5.29 Path of the Heavens/Hidden Village
----------------------------------------
Follow the path until you see a chest on a ledge at the top. Jump up on the
ledge to get the Yellow Mana. Now go all the way to the bottom and get the
pouch containing 360 Cole, and another slightly to the left containing 300
Cole. Now go to the northwest, and synthesize the pillar of rocks until you
get the chest containing Red Mana.
Head east until you see several black crystals. Keep walking to the right
and view the cutscene with the little bunny-like creature. It will bring
you to it's village.
Talk to the white bunny Tototop, to open the store. It will also give you
some medicine, which will add transformation to the Action Dial. In the
Hidden Village, the currency is Karikari Nuts.
**Note: You can stock up on Karikari Nuts at Arcose. They are usually found
just outside Haan's shop. **
Use the transform action, and you will be able to get the chest on the lower
left which contains a Mana Booster. On the right further up, there's a pouch
containing Black Mana. You can also go into all the holes, and collect items
from inside. Inside the hole at the top, you can also talk to the creature
to open the shop/synthesize. Just above Tototop's shop, get the Golden Metal
Rod.
Leave the village once you have collected everything, and head north to return
to the path of the Heavens. Head to the black blocks, and summon the Stone Mana
to jump up to the ledge. Follow the path until you reach the narrow path that
is too narrow to cross. Use the Transform ability to cross. You can drop down
to the ledge below to collect the Yellow Mana, then head up once again.
After the cutscene, jump onto the transporter. Head down, and take the right
path, to open a chest containing Tiny Gear. Return to the center and take the
lower left path to get a Star Piece. Now take the upper left path, and down
to get Gold Metal. Go up now, and turn right to open a chest containing
a Damn Ring. Turn back and step on the yellow coloured diamond stone. It will
bring you up to the next level.
Go up as far as possible and then take the upper right to pick up Gold Metal.
Now take the lower right path to get the pouch containing 2500 Cole.
Return to the beginning area and take the lower right path, and go down
at the first junction to get Mini Pendelook. Continue along the path and
step on the yellow lift.
You can save the game here. Go right and take the yellow lift down, then once
more. Open the Mana Chest to get Vamp Fangs. Head back up two levels. Go left
and take the upper right junction and step in the transporter. Climb on the
purple crystals to get the Gold Metal.
Go back to the original level, and walk down then left. FOllow the path and
turn up. Turn right to get some items, then turn back and step on the yellow
lift.
There is a blue Mana all the way at the top. Now, go right as far as you can
to get Green Mana. Then, step on the yellow lift to go down, and take the
other yellow lift. Enter the door, and you will be in the World Map once again.
You have finally reached Avenberry!
----------------
5.30 Avenberry
----------------
Walk forward and jump onto the blocks. You will need to transform in order to
enter the room. You can collect 5000 Cole from the chest. Extract the two
round coloured objects at the top of the room. You can also rest/save your
game at the tent. There is a transporter which you can use at the upper right
hand side.
Before using the transporter, go back out and head up. When you see a chest,
transform and open it to get Blue Mana. Go up and left to get Groovecube and
Cueparts. Now head up all the way, and there is another transporter.
Summon the stone Mana on the arrow blocks so that you can walk past.
Destruction blast the purple crystals, and summon the Stone Mana once again
so that you can get to the top of the black crystals. You will need to
transform to reach the transporter. There is a Mana Chest containing Dirk
in front of you. Step on the transporter on top of the blue light to meet
a recording of Iris.
-------------------
5.31 Atelier Iris
-------------------
Follow her inside the building and synthesize the Growloon in front of you.
Go down the stairs, destroy the Growloon and open the chest to get a
Phantom Blade. THere is another Growloon in the upper right corner.
Go back upstairs to the ground level, then up one more flight of stairs.
Synthesize the purple object and jump onto the transporter. GO up the stairs
and synthesize the Growloon on the right, then up two more flight of stairs.
Head right, and open the Mana Chest containing Zeilia Ring and a Diselement.
Go down the three flights of stairs, and destroy the two Growloons on the
lower left corner.
Step on the transporter and synthesize the yellow orb. There's Green Mana on
the right and a Passion Pants on top of the books. Go downstairs and
synthesize the two Growloons. Go down one more flight, destroy the Growloon
and open the chest which contains a Lightning Orb. Jump over the books and
synthesize the red orb, then step on the transporter.
Jump up the pile of books and destroy the Growloon, then go upstairs to the
huge pile of books. Extract the lower right hand corner of the stack of books
so that you can jump upstairs and open the chest containing the Dragon Claw.
Go right and step on the transporter. Jump on the books to get a Glowing Mana
then extract the blue statue. Go down and continue to the next junction to
open the chest containing Spirit Protect. Continue left and up the stairs,
and you will be able to save/heal your party at the save point. Use the
Transform ability to pick up the Star Piece under the table.
You should take this opportunity to synthesize as many different mana items
as you can, as there are more synthesizable orbs all over the place. Go right
and synthesize all the orbs, then go up the staircase and view the short
cutscene. Then, go up on to the main area and view another cutscene.
You will have to fight a boss here, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem
compared to the previous battle against Prism! Take out Totem first, then
Legion. Use Klein's Power Item & Lightning Rod, and Legion should be defeated.
Next, focus on the Book Eater. Use Arlin's Double and Norn's Telekinesis to
take Book Eater out. After the battle, you will have another cutscene with
Iris.
After watching the cutscene, Delsus will suggest meeting his father to
discuss the Parodius, and talking with the Chiefs in the Land of Mana to
discuss the fire salamander business. Arlin will find the Aroma Materials
lying on the table nearby, and will give you the rest after taking one.
You will have the option of watching the Aroma Materials tutorial (Popo's
last lesson!).
Now, go back downstairs to the save point and do the necessary. Go down to the
transporter, and head left. When you see the black blocks, transform and fall
on the other side of the blocks. Go down one flight of stairs and stop when
you can see the black crystals. Transform and fall on the left side of the
crystals so that you can collect the mana. Fall down onto the books on the
right and step on the transporter.
Go down the stairs and you will find yourself at the entrance to Atelier Iris.
Exit and Arlin will leave your party to attend to some business. Step on the
transporter and view another cutscene.
------------
5.32 Kavoc
------------
Before returning to Kavoc, you may want to make a stop at Lake Forwell to make
sure your party is healed and stocked with healing items, as you will have
another battle with Beggur as soon as you enter. Follow the path until you come
to a junction, and take the south path. Follow the path, and head south once
again at the junction. Heal/save your party here, then return to Kavoc.
View a cutscene with Marietta, where Beggur will attack her. Your party
will come to her rescue. This battle isn't too difficult, as Beggur is not
accompanied by any knights. Use Klein's Power Item together with a few
attacking items, and the other players' attacking skills like Lita's Force Blast
etc. Once you have defeated him, he will leave. Marietta will be unconscious,
so your party will bring her back to the base.
When she awakens, you will find out that her brother is Beggur! During the
course of the conversation, you will be interrupted by Zeldalia, speaking
through Norn. She requests you to come and see her, and Marietta will join your
party. Do the normal things like visiting Norman's/Veola's, and giving Lita a
bath. This is also a good time to stop by Blaire's Bakery, and the Hidden
Village to synthesize more items.
Before you go visit Zeldalia, stop by the bar. You should be able to collect
some Cole from Norman for hunting Growloons. Go to the second part of Kavoc
to talk to Rurona, to begin Rurona's Ruins sidequest (as long as you aren't
doing any other sidequests).
Head to Poto's Forest next and make your way to Zeldalia's house. You will
discover Mull's ultimate plan, and will form a plan to create the Ruby Prism
to stop Mull. In order to make a Ruby Prism, you need Gurgu's Cane and a
Reptile Egg. The best person to talk to is Delsus's father in Duran.
Go back into Zeldalia's house, and she will ask you how your journey has
been so far. She will offer you the choice of the other item/skill that you
did not choose earlier.
------------
5.33 Duran
------------
Warp to Duran and enter the house on the left, then the back room. Delsus
will ask his father about the Tower of Marcus, and you will be able to access
the tower now.
Head south from Duran past the Forest of Ocean Mist. When the path forks,
either junction will do, as they lead to the same place.
----------------------
5.34 Tower of Marcus
----------------------
Enter the Tower of Marcus (that looks like a donut, according to Norn!) and
view the cutscene. Climb up the ladder and watch the next cutscene. You will
see the cane lying right in front of you. Of course, nothing is that easy...
Once the cutscene is over, you will have to battle the Water Guardian who is
accompanied by two Vultures. Take out the Vultures first then focus on the
Guardian. Use Lita's Force Blast and Klein's Power Item & Flame to attack the
Water Guardian, and you can use Marietta to heal the party. You should win
after a couple of rounds.
To the left, there's a Camp where you can heal/save your game. Climb up the
ladder once you have saved. To the right, there's another battle awaiting you,
this time with the Wind Guardian and a Mega Virium. Once again, take out the
weaker opponent, the Mega Virium, first, then focus on the Wind Guardian. Use
the same tactics as before, and it should be as easy. Once you have defeated
it, I suggest you go back down and save first before continuing.
Climb up again, and head right. Summon the Stone Mana so that you can jump
up onto the pillar, then climb up the next ladder. SUmmon the Stone Mana
again, and your next battle is with the Fire Guardian and two Cerberus.
Once you have taken out the two Cerberus, use Klein's Power Item skill combined
with the Bomb Ice, as well as Lita's Force Blast to take out the Fire Guardian.
Climb down to save and then leave, as you cannot proceed any further.
Go back to Duran, and view the cutscene. Faith, Delsus's sister, will tell
you that what you seek is in the fortress. I guess it's time to go to Fort
Galga!
-----------------
5.35 Fort Galga
-----------------
Head to Fort Galga to view a cutscene between Sir Beggur and the Alkavana
Knights. One of the knights will find the last sphere, and you will have to
do battle with Sir Beggur in order to gain control of the sphere. He is alone
this time, so it should be pretty simple to defeat him using Lita's Force
Blast and Klein's Power Item + Bomb Ice. Climb the middle ladders all the way
to the top to get the chest containing Pyramid. You can now return to the
Tower of Marcus to complete the last statue.
----------------------
5.36 Tower of Marcus
----------------------
Head back to the Tower of Marcus and save your game before climbing to the top.
You will battle two phantoms, a wolf, and the Earth Guardian. Use Lita's Force
Blast to take out the smaller foes first, then concentrate on the Earth
Guardian. You can use Marietta to heal your party, while the others attack.
Use Klein's Power Item skill combined with the Lightning Rod to destroy the
Earth Guardian.
The blue blocks will now disappear, and you will be able to climb up the
ladder. Now, go to the right and walk onto the blue pathway to open the chest
containing the Groovecube. Continue along the blue path, then head up to get
the Mana Chest containing Heaven Geode. Climb up the ladder to get to the
next level.
There's a journal here, so make sure your party is healed fully then save your
game. Climb up the next ladder to get to Gurgu's Cane. It's not as easy as you
think! You'll now have to battle the next boss, Quetzalcoatl.
Use Klein's Mark of Weakness, then attack using Lita's Rock Smash, and other
items like bombs. I used a Giga craft which damaged it for 2000+ at one time!
Once you have defeated it, climb down and save your game.
Return to your base in Kavoc via the transporter in the town of Duran. A
little boy will come in to give you a letter from Sir Beggur, who is
challenging you to a duel in the Outdoor Theatre!
----------------------
5.37 Outdoor Theatre
----------------------
Head to the Outdoor Theatre to meet Beggur and his Knights. I found this fight
particularly tough. If you're having difficulty even defeating the pig, I
suggest you go exploring a bit more to level up your characters, collecting
items for synthesis, etc. My characters were roughly level 45 or so when I
finally managed to beat Beggur and his team. One tactic I used was to ensure
Lita's wings were out, meaning that her attacks would be more powerful.
The first battle is between Tonta, the pig, and 3 other knights. Focus on the
pig first, then on Neun, as she has the ability to heal the party. Use Klein's
Wide Item, and Mark of Weakness to lower the defense of the enemy party. Use
Lita's Rock Smash, and Klein's Power Item combined with Lightning Rod.
Marietta can be used for healing. Be careful not to let your party's HP/Mana
drop to low levels, as there is yet another fight coming up after this!
Once you have defeated the first party, you will have to battle Sir Beggur
and two more Knights. Same tactics as before, focus on the knights first, then
Sir Beggur.
When you have successfully defeated them, return to Kavoc, and the whole town
will be excited about the fact that Arcose has started mining again. Head to
Arcose to check out the situation.
-------------
5.38 Arcose
-------------
Watch the cutscene, then head towards the Mine. Watch the cutscene, and you
will find out that the mine is under the curse of the flaming salamander. The
salamander will turn people into stone! Try to leave the mine, and Rurona
will enter the mine, and tell you about some medicine to help cure
petrification. However, you will need to collect the ingredients for her. The
first thing she needs is Soot.
Go to Veola's Magic Shop in Kavoc to watch a cutscene. Nope, not the right
type of soot! Now, head to Zeldalia's house in Poto Woods, and you will be
able to collect the soot from her pot.
The next ingredient Rurona needs is a bald man's hair! Go to Kavoc's Weapons
Shop, and take a hair from Hagel's beard. Now, you will need to collect a
feather from a red chicken.
Go to the Town of Duran, to the north area, and catch the red chicken to
collect a feather. Now, the final ingredient you need is a bat's wing. Head
back to Kavoc using the transporter, then make your way to the Tower of Airfen.
Rurona will summon a Baal, which will attack you. Once you've defeated it,
Rurona will make the medicine Movagain, and give it to you. You can now
synthesize Movagain.
Now that you have the medicine, it's time to face the Fire Salamander! Head
to Arcose, then walk to Valiant Path (between Arcose and Alexia Cave). Use
the Barrier on the Action Dial so that you can walk across the lava without
getting hurt. Walk to the back of the cave, view the cutscene and the battle
begins.
Take out the smaller salamanders before focusing on the main guy. Use Klein's
Mark of Weakness to lower the defense, then attack using Lita's Rock Smash,
Delsus's Power Shot, etc. You will receive a Reptile Egg after the battle.
Return to Arcose to heal/save your game, then head to the Mine to let the
townspeople know you have defeated the fire salamander. Hute will give you
5 Gold Legien Stones as a reward.
Head to Poto's Forest/Iris's Resting Place and you will see a cutscene in
Iris's Resting Place with Mull. Mull will attack Klein, but Lita will jump in
front of Klein to save him. Your party will bring Lita back to Zeldalia's, and
will spend the night to help Lita recover. In the middle of the night, Klein
will leave Zeldalia's house, and Lita will come find him. They will start
talking, and this is where the story actually started from when you first began
to play this game! Watch the cutscene between the two of them, then leave
Zeldalia's house in the morning.
Go to Kavoc, and warp to the Land of Mana using the transporter in Veola's
shop. View the cutscene, then leave the Land of Mana.
You have seen that object before..it's in the back room of Alexia's Cave!
Head to Alexia Cave, and go to the back room where you previously fought
the Dragon. Go to the bottom of the area and use the Primal Gem on the
object.
Another passage at the bottom will open up. Head into that passage and go
south. Use extract/Destruction Blast on the Growloons in the area, then go to
the top area, and extract the crystals blocking your way. Follow the path, and
view the cutscene, then go past the block with inscription on it. You will find
Pamela's dead body! Go back to the block and head south, until you reach a
pouch containing some Cole on the way. COntinue onward, till you reach a
flight of stairs on the right.
Climb the flight of stairs, then go to the area on the right. You will reach a
Mana Chest containing Refractor. Continue onward, till you reach a hole, where
there is cold air coming out from it. You can't do anything here, so head up
the stairs in front of you to take the short cut out of this area. After
sliding down, head north, and then to the left. Go out of this area through
the right, then save your game at the Camp.
Jump up the two stairs, and watch the cutscene, then exit Alexia Cave.
Go to Arcose and tell Pamela about her body. Your party will then offer to
take her to see her body, so you need to head back to Alexia Cave now.
Go to the cave near the camp, extract the crystals on the right, and head to
the area with Pamela's body. Pamela will finally recall how she died, and she
will also be able to read the inscription on the stone for you. Continue this
path until you reach the second litograph. Once Pamela has read it, continue
onwards. When you reach the stairs, don't climb up just yet. Follow the path
down, and you will see yet another litograph. Now, climb up the stairs and
read the litograph, then go to the area on the right.
Continue to the area where the stone fell into the hole, and head left and
read the litograph. Now, jump up the stairs and slide down, then continue
westwards, jumping over the black crystals and read the litograph. Head back
to the east towards the big black object and watch the cutscene. Exit the
cave and return to the Land of Mana to talk to the Mana Chiefs. Watch the
cutscene, and you can now travel to Silencia. Save your game, then exit to the
World Map.
---------------
5.39 Silencia
---------------
Go north from the Land of Mana, then west at the junction. Continue along the
south west path and enter Silencia. This is the time to stock up on your Mana
Items, there are plenty of extractable orbs here that can replenish your mana.
Go up the stairs, then down to the right into the transporter. Head down
one more flight, and you can save your game at the journal. Go all the way to
the right to open a chest containing Dilvine, then track backwards and head
down the stairs and into the transporter. You will have a battle with three
Legions here, which shouldn't be too difficult. After the battle, you will be
able to use the Flight command in the Action Dial. Go back to the transporter,
and save your game (the journal is straight ahead).
Now, go up the stairs. Take the north east stairs and use flight to go to
the next screen. Collect all the Mana you see, then walk into the right-most
transporter. There are two pouches here containing 1540 Cole and 2500 Cole
respectively. Return to the journal area, and take the north west flight of
stairs up.
Go straight ahead, and up into the next transporter. Extract the mana here,
and return to the journal area. Take the south east path down (same place
where you got the Flight ability) and continue the path till you see some
mini-fires. Use your Barrier ability, then your transform ability, to go
under the stone blocks. You can Destruction Blast the orbs that block your
way to continue to the other side. Use your flight ability, and go up the
stairs so that your altitude increases. You can now go up the blue stairs
to open the chest containing Glowing Mana. Continue up into the transporter.
Jump up, and use flight so that you can get to the next transporter on the
left-most side. Fly over the purple blocks into the next transporter. THe
lower right path brings you to a chest containing a Galgazit bow, the lower
left has a extractable orb. The upper left path has a Jade Mana, and the
upper right path has a Mana Chest containing Uroborus. Now, take the
middle path and open the door.
Head up till you see two birds, one on the left, and one on the right. The
one on the right has it's beak open, but nothing inside it. Watch the
cutscene, then head towards the green object. Watch the next cutscene, then
exit Silencia.
Head to the Gates of Change, and you will see a cutscene once you reach the
Tower of Airfen. Kavoc will be on fire!
------------------------
5.X12 Enemies in Kavoc
------------------------
Head towards Kavoc and view the cutscene. You will be engaged in battle
immediately after the cutscene. Climb up the boxes and extract the Growloon
on top. Go up to your base, and onto the ledge on the right to extract a
Growloon. There's another Growloon near the roof of Lyla's shop. You can
reach it using the Flight ability. At the same time, you can reach the Mana
Chest on the ledge below, containing Divine Shield. Fly to the left, and
extract another Growloon. Now, fly over to the area with a ladder, and
extract yet another Growloon.
Head into the cathedral and talk to everyone there. Now, enter the sewers
and go right all the way. You should be able to reach the Gold Legien on top
of the black blocks using Flight. Fly downwards slightly and extract the
Growloon. Head to the entrance and make your way to the electrified room,
and you will see a scene with Sir Beggur. You will then enter into battle
with three Bugbears. Once you have defeated the enemies, continue
eastwards, and extract the Growloon.
Return to the electrified room, and head southwards across the wooden
bridges. Then, cross the bridge to the east, and extract the Growloon.
Head back to the west, and extract yet another Growloon, on the narrow
ledge. Slightly further ahead, you will see a Growloon. Watch the cutscene,
and then the battle will begin. Use Lita's Force Blast to take out most of
the other enemies, then focus on the Baroness. Use Klein's Mark oF Weakness
to lower her defence, then use his Power Item & Lightning Rod.
After the cutscene, you will be in the main area of Kavoc once again.
GO back into the sewers, then head south, and west.
Previously, you were unable to go through the bars, because of some signs
blocking it. Now, use your transform ability, to squeeze through. There's
another Growloon here.
Once you've finished with the sewers, exit and go to your base to save your
game. Now would be a good time to visit Lector at the Collector's Caravan
to update your item list.
-----------------------
5.X13 Item Collection
-----------------------
Now that you have the Flight ability, you can revisit several places to
collect new items.
Head to Veola's Magic Shop in Kavoc. Fly above the roof top open the chest
containing Gear sans-gear. Enter the sewer, and you should be able to open
the chest at the electrified room which contains Glowing Mana.
Now, exit Kavoc, and go to Lapis Woods. Fly up the stones on the right,
then go to the right and pick up the Magic Ankh. Head south, and make your
way to the Puni God. Here, you can pick up a pouch containing some Cole,
a Blue Mana and Dark Mana. Exit the Puni God, and follow the path till you
reach Ka Luda's Playground.
Make your way to the right exit, but before going out fly to the left to
open a chest containing some Cole. Climb the ladder, and then head left
on the ledge, until you can't go any further. Use your transform ability,
and you will be able to open the three chests containing 2 Glowing Mana,
and a Damn Ring. Now, exit the playground, and take the northern path
towards the Flawless Marvel. Fly around the left area, and upwards, and
you will be able to open a chest containing a Divine Cane.
Head to the Town of Duran, and then go south from here. Enter the Forest
of Ocean Mist and fly the the center to get the Gold Mana. Enter the
transporter, and head right all the way till you see a chest covered in
purple and black blocks. Combine the Stone Mana, and Destruction Blast to
open the chest which contains Siglis Breath.
Go to Fort Galga (north of Lake Forwell), and climb up the left ladder. Go
to the left and stand on the ledge above the chest. Use the flight ability
to land at the chest. Open it to get an Ankh. Now, go to the right ladder
and do the same thing. This chest contains Glowing Mana. Exit the fort
from the right, and follow the north path
Go to the Cleft of Nelvia, and fly to the bottom of the cleft. On the right
side, there is a chest containing Jade Mana. Go down one screen, and fly to
the right hand side, and examine the ground to pick up a Palm Fish.
**Note: If you go in and out of this screen, you will be able to pick up
multiple Palm Fish, which you can sell for quite a lot of Cole. **
When you are tired of collecting Palm Fish, exit the Cleft through the
south. Follow the path until you reach the Town of Duran. Head to the
north section, and fly up to get the Blue, Green and Glowing Mana.
Go to the Collector's Caravan, and jump up onto the smiley blocks. Summon
Diemia, so that you make a mini-staircase. Now, use your flight ability to
get the Gold Mana, then land on the top-most block. Jump up, and you should
be able to get the Jade Mana.
From the Collector's Caravan, make your way past Arcose to Valiant Path.
Fly to the back, and you can open a Mana Chest containing Basilisk Eye.
Continue to the back to pick up two Red Mana, and extract a Growloon.
Continue onwards to Alexia Cave, and go into the back cave, where you
discovered Pamela's body earlier. Go to the chest on top of the multi-
coloured blocks, and Destruction Blast the purple block from the upper
ledge. Fly over now, and you can open the chest containing Zeilia Ring.
Warp to the Hidden Village, and use flight to get the chest containing
Warlord Support at the top, then exit and head north. You should be able to
collect a pouch containing Red Mana located near the top. You need to fly,
and then descend just above the pouch to pick it up. Now, go up to the top,
but don't head to the next screen. Use your flight ability, and fly to the
left so that you can open the chest containing the Dragon Fangs. Go north
now, and step into the transporter.
Head to multi-leveled Path of the Heavens, and go up two levels. Somewhere
on the right, there is a pillar of four purple blocks. Destroy two blocks,
and summon your stone mana. Jump onto the stone mana, then use your flight
ability. There is a star piece on the right, and you should be able to
reach the two chests on the left containing Para Sword, and Ankh.
Go up all the way, and exit to the world map. Enter Avenberry, and head up
to Atelier Iris. Head up till you see a blue narrow ledge. Follow the
ledge and examine the statue, and Eital will join your party. You will be
able to view the Avoid Monsters tutorial here. ** I am not sure if you are
able to get Eital earlier on in the game. Please email me if you know!**
Now, go to Poto's Forest from the Arcose entry. Fly to the right side, just
above the river, there's a pouch containing Red Mana. On the left, again
above the river, there's another pouch containing Glowing Mana. Head down
one screen, there's a chest above the entrance, which you should be able
to reach by flying slightly to the right and up. It contains an Angel
Feather. Above that, there's a Red Mana on the tree. On the left, there's
a chest containing some Cole. Go to Iris's Resting Place, and you will
see a cutscene between Mull and Arlin. Head back into the transporter so
that you can collect more items first. Just above the transporter in
Iris's Resting Place, there is a ledge holding Gold Handle.
If you head back to the Land of Mana and talk to the Chief of Water, you
will be able to obtain a Mana Item, Elixir, from her.
---------------------
5.X14 Mull's Castle
---------------------
Save/heal your party, then exit to the World Map. Follow the path to Selk's
Cry.
Head down the stairs, the continue along the path to open a chest containing
Blue Mana. Head back to the junction, then turn downwards. Fly across the
thorns to open a chest containing a Star Prism. Fly back, and turn right at
the first junction straight after the thorns. Fly across the lava and climb
up the stairs. Extract the large rock to open a chest containing Devil's Eye.
Return to where you were previously, and fly back across the lava. Continue
downards along the path, until you exit at the next screen.
Follow the path till the end, and extract the Growloon. Now, fly to the
right, and extract the Growloon here. There is also some mana you can pick up
here. Fly back to the left most area, and open the chest containing Angel
Feather. Fly up, and open a chest containing Gold Mana. Now, fly slightly
right and up to open a chest containing DevilSwordGram.
Fly to the topmost area, and extract the Growloon at the top, then head toward
the black door. Watch the cutscene, then enter the passage on the lower left.
Continue down the passage until you reach a Camp. Save your game, then
transform, and drop down the hole. Continue until you reach a white sphere,
and then watch the short scene. Go up the stairs, and extract the Growloon.
Transform again, then drop down and save your game.
Now, return to the entrance, then use the right passage and follow the path
all the way down, until you reach another white sphere. Now, go up, and
summon the stone mana near the blue lightning, so that you can go up the
stairs. Extract the Growloon. You should see another white sphere slightly
lower down. Use your Flight ability, and descend. Press square again when you
are level with the sphere, and examine it.
Now, descend to ground level, then head right, and north into the newly
opened passage. Continue along the path, and open the chest to get 2500 COle.
Examine the white sphere, and then extract the Growloon.
Return back to the Camp and save/heal, then head up, and right, following
the passage down. Examine the white sphere, then return to the Camp. This is
an excellent time to make sure you have enough Mana Items, especially the
Heal Bulb, Lightning Rod, and Dragon Gem, as you are about to face a major
boss! Head to the entrance once you are done, and you will see that the blue
lightning shield has disappeared. Enter the door, and watch the cutscene
between you and Mull.
You will now have to battle Amalgam. Use Klein's Power Item, and Mark of
Weakness to lower Amalgam's Defence. Now, concentrate on attacking him using
Lita's MeteorStrike/Rock Smash & Klein's Power Item combined with Dragon Gems.
When you run out of Dragon Gems, switch to Lightning Rods. Use Marietta to
constantly keep your party at almost full strength, as Amalgam's attacks
can be quite deadly. If your whole party is down on health, use Klein's Power
Item and Heal Bulb, which should heal your whole part almost to full strength.
If you keep losing over and over again, I suggest levelling up a bit more, as
you probably aren't ready to face him yet.
Once you have defeated him, watch the cutscene...and that's it! You've
completed the main storyline of the game.
---------------------
5.X15 Mull's Dungeon
---------------------
If you want to continue to the bonus dungeon, head back to your base in Kavoc
now. You should get a cutscene where Delsus tells your party of the bonus
dungeon, where a mysterious blue-haired swordsman has been seen. It's located
near Ka Luda Playground. If you don't get the cutscene, keep synthesizing/doing
side quests until you get the cutscene.
Enter Ka Luda's Playground, and fly to the left. There's a transporter here
among the shrubbery which you can land on. Exit the World Map and enter Mull's
Dungeon. Go down, and synthesize the Growloon in the hole. Exit to the right,
and view the cutscene with Arlin. Arlin, and Luplus, the Time Mana, will
join your party.
You can pick up the Mana in front of you by flying to the ledge on the left
to gain altitude, then to the ledge containing the Mana. Further ahead, there's
a Growloon you can destroy using Destruction Blast.
Fly all the way to the right till you can see another transporter. Back track
to the left slightly, remaining at the top. There's another Growloon you can
destroy, and a Warlord Support on top of a ledge. Return to the transporter on
the right.
Use your Barrier ability here to protect you from the lightning. There are
several mana stones that you can collect here. Go to the transporter on the
green block at the top. Go down, to the lower level, and extract the escalator
like things. Fly to the area on the right, and transform to go along the narrow
ledges. Extract the Growloon on the left, then return to the center section
and go up the left hand path. Now, go back down, and then up the right hand
path (you will neet to Destruction Blast the purple block, and summon the
Stone Mana to get up). Step on the transporter on the green block.
Go down the path and to the left. Extract the Growloon and then go to the
bottom. Step on the transporter in the middle of the purple area. You can
extract some sculptures on the left, then go forward to the next transporter.
When you get to the area where you can save your game, make sure you do so.
There are orbs/items that you can extract all over. On the left to the south,
there is a chest containing Infinite Wings. Head north, and extract the huge
stone to reveal a transporter. Step onto the first transporter you see on the
right, and transform so that you can fall on top of the Mana Chest, which
contains a Laruba Key.
Go back onto the transporter on the left, and go up one level. Now, fly to the
left to the next transporter. Go up the stairs, and extract the rock to open
the way to the next transporter. Go right as far as you can, and step onto
the transporter. Open the chest to get Tiny Gear, and extract the rubble in
your way. Go up all the way, and transport yourself to another save point.
Step in the transporter, then follow the path to open a chest containing
Ebony Claw.

6.0 Item Synthesis
===============================================================================
Item Synthesis is the process of combining different items to create new items.
There are certain shops in different towns that can perform item sysnthesis.
This is why it is important to collect as many different items as you can, as
each item has a different effect during synthesis.
Each shop has it's own speciality in synthesizing. Norman's bar specialises in
food items, Veola's Magic Shop creates magic items that are used during battle,
and the bakery in Arcose creates..well, baked goods!
When you give the items to the store owner to synthesize, the quality of the
new item depends on what items you are giving. For example, if the recipe
requires well water, and you substitute it for foul water, the odds are that
the quality will drop.
Each new item that you create will be reviewed. A good review will cause more
people to be interested in the shop, and I think that this will increase the
owner's friendliness towards you, thereby giving you more cutscenes later on.
The shop owner will add new recipes to their list occasionally. The different
methods to get new recipes are to synthesize often and visit the store owners
as often as you can. For Veola, you can give her books that you find during
your travels. Once she reads these books, she will add new items to her recipe
list.
This list that I prepared is based on the quality of my ingredients, most
likely you will not get exactly the same results that I got for the quality.
I will list down two sets of ingredients, the one in the brackets are the
original items that the shopkeeper requested for, and the other set is what
I used to get the best quality items that I could find. Eg:
Karikari Liquor
Ingredients : Karikari Nuts
: Hell Soju (Ale)
This means that the original recipe was Karikari Nuts and Ale, but I replaced
the Ale with Hell Soju in order to get a better quality item.

6.1 Norman's Bar
-----------------
Norman runs the bar in Kavoc. It's located at the main area. Norman seems like
the spokesman of the town. He will give you rewards when you perform certain
tasks, like helping the village to rid themselves of Growloons. He is very
protective of Veola, who is like a daughter to him.

Well, you can't exactly call it Oscar's Shop, because he doesn't even have one!
In the beginning of the game, I found him in Kavoc, at the main area with the
extractable flowers/barrels, etc. at the lower left hand corner. He looks
somewhat like a chef, with a chef's hat on his head. Later on, I found him in
Arcose, on the same level as the Camp.

7.0 Mana Item Synthesis
===============================================================================
----------------
7.1 Mana Spirits
----------------
Mana spirits help Klein perform Mana Synthesis. Mana Synthesis is the
process of combining the mana elements that you have collected, with the help
of Mana Spirits, to create Mana Items that are not obtainable from anywhere
else.
1. Popo
You begin the game with Popo by your side. He is the Wood Mana.
2. Uru
Uru is the Fire Mana who you save from Sir Beggur in Kavoc. He will agree to
help your party because you saved him. He transforms into Grupt using the
Aroma Material.
3. Plua
Plua is the Mana of Darkness who can be found in Iris's Resting Place. She
transforms into Fanatos.
5. Diemia
Diemia is the Stone Mana, who joins your party in Alexia Cave. He is
particularly useful in helping you reach higher places, as you can step on him!
He cannot be transformed.
6. Nymph
Nymph, the Water Mana, is found at the Collector's Caravan. She adds the
Barrier command in the action dial, which will give you protection from
dangerous areas like lava pits, etc. She transforms into Flay with the Aroma
Material.
7. Silwest
Silwest is the Wind Mana who joins your party at the Cleft of Nelvia. She
transforms to Zeilia using the Aroma Material.
8. Aion
Aion, the Life Mana, can be found in the Flawless Marvel. She adds the Life
Ability to the Action Dial. She cannot be transformed either.
9. Eital
Eital, the Light Mana, is found in Avenberry. She will enable you to use the
Avoid Monsters Ability in the Action Dial. She transforms to Paltia.
---------------------------
7.2 Equipping Mana Spirits
---------------------------
After playing the game for awhile, you will be able to equip the Mana Spirits
to your characters. When you win a battle, each player that is equipped with a
Mana Spirit will gain points. Each Mana has the ability to give bonus points in
certain skills. This will only happen when the bar on the right of the skills
status screen is filled up.
Later on in the game, you will gain an item called Aroma Material. This item
will allow you to transform certain Mana Spirits into different forms (eg.
Water Mana Nymph becomes Spirit Mana Flay). The transformed Mana Spirits also
will give you bonus points, but in different skills.

8.0 Sidequests
===============================================================================
Sidequests are mini-missions that do not have to be completed in order to
advance the story-line. However, if you do not do the sidequests, you will be
missing out on a lot of rewards that would be easy to collect.
Sidequests are triggered by different events, when you get a sidequest, you
will see a tiny sword-like icon on the lower left corner of the screen. You
can only get one sidequest at a time, once you have started a sidequest, you
will not get another one until you have completed the current one. This section
is divided into the different areas where you can trigger sidequests.
----------
8.1 Kavoc
----------
+-------------------+
Lunchbox delivery
+-------------------+
This sidequests is triggered the first time you enter Kavoc. Norman will ask
you to deliver two lunchboxes to Veola's Magic Shop & Lyla's Grocery Store.
Once you have delivered it, he will give you 100 Cole.
+-------------+
Frozen Rain
+-------------+
Talk to Norman, and he will ask you to get some Frozen Rain for him, so that
he can serve fish that won't go bad. Get the Frozen Rain from the Puni God
(after defeating some enemies, they will drop Frozen Rain) and give it to
him. He will give you 500 Cole, and add some recipes to his menu.
+------------------------+
Glow Stained for Veola
+------------------------+
Talk to Veola, and she will ask for your help. She asks you to find a Glow
Stained for her. One of the places you can get it is at the Land of Mana, when
you buy it using pendelook (which you can synthesize at Veola's Magic Shop).
Once you give it to her, watch the cutscene on top of the cliff to learn the
reason why Veola wanted the Glow Stained.
+--------------------+
Present for Norman
+--------------------+
Go to Veola's Magic Shop and she will ask you for advice on what to give Norman
for his birthday. Klein will tell her that as long as it's from the heart, it
doesn't matter what it is. She will then decide to go to Lapis Woods to search
for something. When you re-enter her shop, she will be gone, and you decide to
go to Lapis Woods to search for her.
Enter Lapis Woods, and you will see Veola being attacked by a Falcon Hawk.
Being the gentleman you are, you will come to her rescue. One Jump Kick from
Lita should destroy the bird. Veola isn't very grateful for your assistance
and she will tell you to meet her back in town. Return to Kavoc to her shop
(make sure you have a Phoenix Quill with you) and give it to her. She will show
you the present she made for Norman.
+-----------------------+
Villa's Love Interest
+-----------------------+
Walk into Kavoc, and you will meet Villa. She will see Hagel, and be interested
in him. Go to Hagel's Weapon Shop, and you will see Villa losing all interest
when she finds out that Hagel uses hair restoration products. Warp to Arcose
and head to Villa's shop. Talk to her, and she will give you 2 Love Poems
that she wrote for Hagel.
+--------------------------------------------+
Treasure Hunting with Yach, Dia and Pamela
+--------------------------------------------+
When you enter Lapis Woods, you will see a cut scene with Yach, Dia and Pamela.
They have found a treasure map, and want to go treasure hunting. Delsus will
offer to find the treasure for them. Go to Norman's bar in Kavoc and watch the
cutscene. Warp to Arcose and leave the town. Follow the path north past the
mine, and head north at the junction. Use the Stone Mana to climb up the cliff
amd take the north east path at the next junction, then go east till you reach
the Empty Tavern. A group of thieves will appear and try to take the treasure
from you, but Pamela will come and scare them away. Your reward is Dark Mana,
Glowing Mana, Red Mana, and a Pikohammer.
+--------------------+
Catching the Thief
+--------------------+
Walk into Kavoc, and the whole town will be abuzz about the thief that has
been stealing items. Go to Arcose, and listen to the two ladies talking about
the thief. Go into Villa's shop, and she will ask you to help her catch the
thief. While you are in the shop, someone will shout from outside. The thief
has just stolen someone's marble. Delsus will speculate that the thief could
be a bird. Head to the Cleft of Nelvia. Follow the path down, past the purple
blocks all the way to the left. You will see a nest full of treasure, which
you will retrieve. The bird will come back and attack you for stealing its
treasure! After you defeat the bird, return to Arcose, and give the stuff back
to Villa. She will give you a Shifty Eye as your reward.
+----------------+
Rurona's Ruins
+----------------+
After you return to the Flawless Marvel, go to Veola's Magic Shop in Kavoc and
it should trigger an event with Rurona, asking you about ruins you have
previously visited. She will then disappear. Go to the Puni God and you will
see her standing there. She will give you a Buffer Ring. Next head to Iris's
Resting Place and she will give you the Glowing Mana Stone. Your next stop is
Alexia Cave, where Rurona will give you a Silver Mana Stone. Finally, head to
Lapis Woods. She won't give you anything here, but the scene will end the
sidequest.
+---------------------+
Finn & the Puni God
+---------------------+
Talk to Finn, who is standing in one corner of the bar (I triggered this event
after Marietta joined the party) and he will inform you that the Puni God is
in pain, and ask you to check it out. Head to the Puni God and go inside. It
is infested with Growloons! Extract the first Growloon and continue down the
path. When you see the second one, you will only be able to reach it by
standing at the circle area, facing downwards, and using the Destruction Blast.
Extract the third Growloon before continuing down the path. There are two
more Growloons along the path, that can only be reached by jumping and using
Destruction Blast. Soon you will reach a junction, where you can see a
Growloon at one end. Extract the Growloon and pick up the Aqua Snowbug and
continue down the other junction.
Jump over the black blocks to extract another Growloon, then continue along
the other path till you can extract yet another Growloon (no wonder the
Puni God was in pain!). Lita thinks it is over, but before you can breathe,
the Puni Brothers will attack you again.
This time, they are accompanied by 3 Faux Puni. However, like always, this
fight should be no problem. Exit the Puni God and return to the bar in
Kavoc. Talk to Finn to get a reward of 5000 Cole and a Golden Mana Stone.
Don't forget to check the Growloon Handbook to get your reward.
+--------------------+
Norman's Quill Pen
+--------------------+
Talk to Norman and he will ask you to get him an Angel Quill Pen from Veola's
Magic Store. You can synthesize it at Veola's, or buy it if it's available.
Give it to him, and he will add instruments to the menu. This will also
trigger an event in Veola's store, that will add musical instruments to her
synthesizable list.
+------------------+
Duran's Festival
+------------------+
Talk to Finn at Norman's bar, and he will tell you about the festival at
Duran. The whole party will decide to go and watch, so you need to head to
Duran. Watch the cutscene, then go and talk to Delsus's faather. Go out
and watch the cutscene, then win the battle.
+----------------------+
Norman's Illegal Job
+----------------------+
Norman will ask you if you're interested in doing a shady job. All you need
to do is to get him Garigari Nuts and Spoiled Meat. Your reward is 1000 Cole
and he will add Powder to the synthesis list.
-----------
8.2 Arcose
-----------
+--------------------+
Painting Appraisal
+--------------------+
Enter Haan's shop, and he will tell you that he has found a painting, but he
doesn't know how to price it. Norn will freak out, and Lita will get the idea
to show it to Lector. Warp to the Collector's Caravan and talk to Lector to
show her the painting. Lector will tell you to get rid of the painting ASAP
as it is dangerous. You will enter into battle with a Baphy now. One Flame
from Klein, and a couple of regular attacks should eliminate it. Return to
Haan's shop in Arcose, and he will give you a Black Mana for trying to help.
+---------------------+
Villa's Merchandise
+---------------------+
Talk to Villa and she will ask for your help. The merchant she normally buys
from has been injured, and she will ask you to help pick up her order from the
store in Kavoc. Go to Lyla's store in Kavoc and talk to her. She will give you
a package, and you need to return to Arcose to deliver it. Give the package to
Villa and she will reward you with a Red Mana Stone, Blue Mana Stone and a
Yellow Mana Stone.
+------------------+
Candy for Blaire
+------------------+
Walk into Blaire's shop and you will see her staring out of the window. Talk
to her, then go to Villa's shop and talk to Villa. Villa will give you some
candy to pass to Blaire. Go to Blaire's shop once more and give her the
candy.
+-----------------------+
More Candy for Blaire
+-----------------------+
Go into Blaire's bakery, and you will witness a fight between Blaire and
Villa. Exit the bakery, and Villa will ask you to meet her at her shop. Go
to Villa's shop, and she will ask you to bring her some lando, so that she can
make sweets. Give her some lando (I gave her Sweet Lando) and she will make
Villa's sweets. As a reward, you will get 5 Milk and 300 Cole. Go to Blaire's
bakery and give her the sweets. She will add a new recipe to her list.
------------------
8.3 Town of Duran
------------------
+-------------------+
Grandma's Flowers
+-------------------+
I triggered this sidequest after travelling to Avenberry. Delsus's grandma
will say that she longs to see flowers, and Delsus will promise to bring her
some. However, he has no idea where to get them! Go to see Lector and she
will tell you it's in the highlands.
Head to Henmil's Gate, then continue onwards in the World Map till you reach
the Path of Heavens. The white flower was on top of some rocks. Summon the
Stone Mana to the left hand side of the rocks, then jump up to get the flower.
Return to Duran to give the flowers to grandma. She will give Lita a Sylvan
Ring as a reward.
-------------------
8.4 Hidden Village
-------------------
+------------------+
Mofuma's Recipes
+------------------+
Go to the Hidden Village and talk to Mofuma (located at the top hole, only
accessible when you transform). Mofuma will ask you to bring leftovers, which
you can synthesize at Blair's shop. As a result, Nekotreat will be added at
Mofuma's.
-----------------
8.5 "Faerieland"
-----------------
+----------------+
Bombs for Paco
+----------------+
Talk to Paka, and he will tell you that his friend has set up a Mana Furnace,
where you can synthesize Mana Stones. Go to the Furnace in Iris's Resting
Place and talk to Paco. He tells you that the furnace is set up, but he needs
5 Bombs to start the fuel. You can get the bombs from Veola's Magic Shop. Give
Paco the bombs to complete the sidequest.
-----------------
8.6 Land of Mana
-----------------
+-----------------------+
Second Aroma Material
+-----------------------+
Talk to the Chief of Manas in the Land of Mana. THey will tell you about
more Aroma Material that can be found. Go to Lake Forwell, and fly to the
bottom left of screen, where there is a statue. Examine it, then go to the
Cleft of Nelvia. Go to the bottom of the Cleft of Nelvia, where you previously
met the Spirit of Spring. She will tell you to sprinkle water on the statues.
Go back to Lake Forwell, and examine each of the three statues there. You
will need 50 Water Elements for each statue, so you will probably need to
collect more mana. You can go back to Kavoc and extract the fruit/flower
baskets to get more Water Elements. You will receive a sphere of life after
examining all three statues. Now, head to the Garden of Eternity and find
the throne. Klein will place the Sphere of Life on the throne, and you will
receive the second Aroma Material.
-----------------
8.7 Lake Forwell
-----------------
+-----------------+
Zazzy's Errands
+-----------------+
Enter the old man's house in Lake Forwell, and he will ask you to run some
errands for him. Get him some milk from the cow outside, and he will say that
he wanted Gemlis' special fresh sliced fish instead. Go outside and talk to
Gemlis, and give the old man the sushi platter. Now, he will say that he wanted
a herbal cocktail from the bar in Kavoc. Go to Norman's and pick up the Special
Herb Cocktail and return to the old man. He will finally be satisfied and
reward you with a Green Mana Stone, a Black Mana Stone, a Silver Mana Stone,
and a Gold Mana Stone. However, it's not over yet! He'll tell you that if
you can find him some clothes that are tight and hip, he'll reward you with
something special. Give him the Gogo Suit, which you can synthesize in Veola's
shop. Now, he'll say that he craves some sweet cookies from Arcose. Give him
the Snickerdoodle you synthesized from Blaire's bakery. You will get your final
reward, Delsus's final skill, Spirit Blast!
---------------
8.8 Fort Galga
---------------
+-----------------------+
Destroy the Growloons
+-----------------------+
Head to Fort Galga, and you will see Finn being attacked. Save him, and bring
him back to Kavoc. He will announce to the townspeople that Growloons have
appeared in the Cleft of Nelvia. Head to the Cleft of Nelvia and destroy the
Growloons there (total of 3 Growloons). Go back to the bar in Kavoc and talk
to Finn, and he will give you a Glowing Mana Stone as a reward.
------------------
8.9 Poto's Forest
------------------
+----------------------+
Zeldalia's Challenge
+----------------------+
Go to Zeldalia's house in Poto's Forest once you have completed the game. Talk
to Zeldalia, and she will challenge Norn to battle some enemies. Here is the
battle order:
1. 3 Salamanders
2. 2 Brownies & 1 Ice Puni
3. 1 Falcon Hawk & 1 Roc
5. 1 Faux Puni & 1 Totem
6. 2 Lantern Jacks & 1 Lilium
The best way I found to defeat them was to use the Shrink (S) skill, or the
Telekinesis skill. You may need to use the Magic Shield to protect yourself
for the later rounds.
===============================================================================
