2) Introduction

Lightning Legend is a 3D fighting game which was released for the Japanese
PSOne by Konami in 1996. The game features some excellent character designs,
great graphics by PSOne standards, and a story mode which is full of unlockable
items and secrets.
The gameplay is easy to pickup, and uses most of the standard fighting game
movement/button combos that most players have been accustomed to for years.
The controls aren't as precise or tight as the more well known titles in its
genre, but overall the game is very playable.
The original Playstation release used the long since abandoned thick CD cases,
and came with a set of cards printed with each characters artwork and
movelists.

Each character has 16 unique items that they can collect, by fulfilling a set
of specific requirements. There are also an additional 16 "Treasures", most of
which being aquired by completing story mode with a specific character, but a
few have requirements that can be fulfilled by any character.
There are a total of 208 items and treasures to collect.

The character specific items all have the same requirements, so you have to do
each one with each character. When you fulfill a requirement, whichever
character you were fighting gets the item.
If you fulfill multiple requirements in one round, you are only rewarded the
item number that is considered more difficult. For example: If you win with
a Super Move with 1 second remaining, you will be awarded item #2 for the
character you defeated.
