FAQ information : I am trying to make this FAQ as complete as possible. Please
read all the sections and my personal NOTES included in the sections. This
should help your understanding of the Recipe/ Cooking feature included in
Harvest Moon : Back To Nature.

I fixed the Ice Cream/Pumpkin Pudding mix up, and added the location of
Sashimi.
v 3.0 information - Recipe fixes include Cheesecake, Tempura, and all the
Juice recipes. I've tried them all out on my game, so they should ALL work.

1 - FAQS :
Q : Where do I buy Utensils?
A : After you buy your first house upgrade, they will be on Saturday's
Television Show, "TV Shopping Network" After you watch the ENTIRE program,
go to the inn when it is open and use the phone next to Doug to call and order.
It will be delivered by Zack on Tuesday. If another villager comes by on
Tuesday, just re-enter your house and exit and Zack will deliver it. If it
is a Festival Day on Tuesday, or if there is a Disaster (Snowstorm, Hurricane)
then he will deliver it on Wednesday.
Q : Where do I buy Seasonings?
A : After you have bought all the Utensils, the next "TV Shopping Network"
show will offer the Seasonings. Once Zack delivers this, you will have
unlimited Salt, Sugar, Soy Sauce, Vinegar, and Miso Paste.
Q : Where are the ingredients located in the game?
A : Check the Ingredient List, below.
Q : Some of the ingredients (such as Butter) are not on your list. Why?
A : They are Recipes. Check the Recipe List to see how to make it.
Q : How many Recipes are there?
A : 64.
Q : Where do you get Recipes (in the game)?
A : If I know where a recipe is located in the game, it is next to the recipe
name in ( ) parenthesis. If it does not have (location) next to it, it is
from "The Delicious Hour", the Television Show for Tuesday, or I don't know
where it is located. I have found that a great way to get a recipe is to give
a villager his or her favorite item(s) on his or her birthday.
Q : Where do I find (insert Villager's name here) or (insert in-game location
here)?
A : Please check another FAQ/Walkthrough for this game, as there are a lot
of good ones. Quite a few are located at
http://www.gamefaqs.com
Note : If you get a recipe from a Villager, or "The Delicious Hour", you
(yourself, not your game character) must write it down on paper, and then
cook it when you have the proper utensils, seasonings, and ingredients. Once
you cook it, it will be saved in the "Recipe Book" function in your kitchen
(in your game).
Note : You can see how many TOTAL Recipes you have by hitting Start. The number
of Recipes will be represented by a blue book with a #P next to it. This is
under your character's Name, number of Power Berries, and your Building %.

2 - Ingredient List
Note : The supermarket is open from 9am - 6 pm, and is closed on Tuesdays
and Sundays.
Note : Won is located at the Inn from 1pm - 3pm.
Note : Aja Winery is open from 9am-Noon and closed on Saturday.
Note : All of the ingredients can be placed either in your fridge or in your
cabinet. This way you can store them until you are ready to cook.
Note : Once you have a Hothouse, you can buy all seeds year round, and plant
them in the Hothouse.
Note : Some ingredients, like Butter, are actually other Recipes, so they
are in the Recipe Section below.
Ingredients:
Format:
Name of ingredient : Where you find the ingredient
Turnip : Spring Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it on
your farm.
Potato : Spring Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it on
your farm.
Cucumber : Spring Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it
on your farm.
Cabbage : Spring Vegetable. Buy seeds from Won, then grow it on your farm.
Strawberry : Spring Fruit. Ship over 100 of Turnips, Potatoes, Cucumbers,
and Cabbage. The next day, check your mailbox. The Strawberry Seeds are now
sold at the supermarket. Grow it on your farm.
Bamboo Shoots : Grows wild in the Spring. 3 are located around the Hot Springs
area.
Blue Grass : Grows wild in the Spring. 1 is loacated around the Hot Springs
area. 1 is located around the Builder (Gotz's) House.
Onion : Summer Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it on
your farm.
Tomato : Summer Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it on
your farm.
Corn : Summer Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it on your
farm.
Pineapple : Summer Fruit. Buy seeds from Won, then grow it on your farm.
Pumpkin : Summer Vegetable. Ship over 100 of Onions, Tomatoes, Corn, and
Pineapples. The next day, check your mailbox. The Pumpkin seeds are now sold
at the supermarket. Grow it on your farm.
Red Grass : Grows wild in the Summer. 1 is located around the Hot Springs
area. 1 is located around the Builder (Gotz's) House. This is poisonous, so
you shouldn't cook with it.
Eggplant : Fall Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it on
your farm.
Carrot : Fall Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it on your
farm.
Sweet Potato : Fall Vegetable. Buy seeds from the supermarket, then grow it
on your farm.
Green Pepper : Fall Vegetable. Buy seeds from Won, then grow it on your farm.
Spinach : Fall Vegetable. Ship over 100 of Eggplants, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes,
and Green Peppers. The next day, check your mailbox. The Spinach seeds are
now sold at the supermarket. Grow it on your farm.
Orangecup : Hothouse fruit. You can only grow this in a Hothouse. Buy the
seeds from Won. Grow it in your Hothouse.
Mushroom : Grows wild in Fall. 1 near Hot Springs area, 2 near Builder (Gotz's)
House, 1 on the base of Mother's Hill on the ledge past the bridge.
Poisonous Mushroom : Grows wild in Fall. 1 Near Builder (Gotz's) House. You
probably shouldn't cook with this.
Wild Grape : Grows wild in Fall. 2 on the base of Mother's Hill, near the
Lake.
Truffle : Grows wild in Fall. 1 on the base of Mother's Hill, near the Lake.
Green Grass : Grows wild in Fall. 1 near the Hot Springs area, 1 near Builder
(Gotz's) House.
Eggs : If you buy and take good care of your chickens, they will lay these
every day. Normal Eggs from a chicken with 1-3 hearts, Good Eggs from a chicken
with 4-7 hearts, Excellent Eggs from a chicken with 8-10 hearts. Gold Eggs
from a chicken who has won the Chicken Festival held on Summer 7th.
Milk : If you buy and take good care of your cows, they will give you milk
every day. You can not milk a pregnant cow. All sizes are considered the same
for cooking, but the larger the size milk you use, the better it tastes. (Well,
this is my opinion.)
Honey : Once you attract some bees to your farm with Flowers (buy from Won,
grow in the appropriate season), they will have honey for you every day. To
bring up the shipping price, give some honey to Louis. (The bug catcher who
hangs out with Gotz and at Mother Hill)
Apple : Fall Fruit. 3 are dropped by your apple tree every day in Fall.
Fish : Catch these in Rivers, Lakes, and the Ocean. To get the fishing rod,
show up at the dock with one empty slot in your rucksack (the Tool section)
very early in the morning (6-10am) or late at night (7-11pm) on Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday and the fisherman will give it to you. To get the fishing
pole, which catches fish more easily, get 50 fish in your fish pond and have
one empty slot in your rucksack (the Tool section). The fisherman will show
up in the morning and give you the fishing pole. You use Medium and Large
sized fish to cook.
Garbage : Tin Cans, Boots, Fish Bones that you can catch instead of fish.
If you put this in a recipe, it will be ruined.
Oil : You can buy this at the supermarket for 50g a piece.
Flour : You can by (heh) this at the supermarket for 50g a piece.
Curry Powder : You can by (again, heh. "food engrish") this at the supermarket
for 50g a piece.
Rice Ball : You can buy this at the supermarket for 100g a piece.
Bread : You can buy this at the supermarket for 100g a piece.
Wine : Buy this at Aja winery between 9am and Noon. It is closed Saturday.
300g a piece.
Relaxation Tea Leaves : Get 7 presents (requires the LARGE sized rucksack)
and bring them to the Sprite's house behind the church any sunny, Non-Festival
day in Spring, between 3 and 4 pm. Talk to one of the Sprites, and he will
say you have to have presents to join the tea party. Give one gift to each
Sprite. Then you will have a Tea Party with them, at the end they will give
you a bag of Relaxation Tea Leaves. Notes: you must use gift wrap (at the
supermarket), and you must USE your tea leaves before they will give you more.
Chocolate : This is, by far, the hardest ingredient to get. You must have
some girls (Ann, Karen, Elli, Popuri, Mary) on a Blue or Purple colored heart.
You must NOT be married. On the 14th day of Winter, stay on your farm all
day and the girls will come by one-by-one and give you gifts. Only girls with
Blue or Purple colored hearts give you chocolate. If no girls come by, try
going in and out of your house, or restart your game from a saved file. You
need at least 2 pieces of chocolate to create all 64 recipes.
Update to Chocolate : It is possible to get Chocolate after you are married.
On the 13th of winter, give your wife presents that she hates (such as weeds)
until her heart turns blue. The next day she will give you Chocolate. Be VERY
careful with this, because if your Wife's heart drops too low, she'll move
out.
Small Stone : Find this on the ground at your farm. If you want all your land
to be clear, save some in your cabinet.
Winter Stone : The same as a Small Stone, only found on the ground at your
farm during Winter.

3 - Recipes :
Format:
Number of Recipe (64 in total) | Name Of Recipe (Location)
Utensil (U): Knife, Frying Pan, Pot, Mixer, Whisk, Rolling Pin, Oven
Seasoning (S): Salt, Sugar, Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Miso Paste
Ingredients (I): Vegetables, Fruits, Fish, Milk, etc...
Note : Any optional utensils, seasonings or ingredients are listed in ( )
parenthesis. The more optional things you use make the recipes taste better.
Note: Many of the Recipes you can get in the game have a lot of optional
ingredients you can add to make it taste better. I am not listing them all
here because I would be typing for the rest of my life if I did. A good idea
is to think of the things you eat in real life. Example : The pizza recipe.
You can add any vegetables that comes from a pizza place, and the more you
put on, the better the villagers will like it.
Note: If the Recipe has (Knife) in the Utensil Section, it means you can put
in optional fruits or vegetables.
Note: If the Recipe has an ingredient NOT FOUND in the Ingredient List (such
as Butter), that Ingredient is another Recipe. Check the Recipe List, below.
Note : Many of these recipes can be found on Tuesday's Television Show, "The
Delicious Hour" I listed the locations next to the Recipe Name in ( )
parenthesis. If it is from "The Delicious Hour" or I don't know where it is
from, then there is no location listed.
Note : Yes, there are 4 seperate Recipes for Mayonnaise. If you only have
61 Recipes, try making the other sizes.
