The following is a general guide and walthrough for Yandere School.  It
contains spoilers and solutions, so do not read this if you would like to
figure out the game for yourself.  Completing the game on a first attempt
without any assistance will likely take around two hours.   This guide also
explains how to earn every Steam Achievement.  Yandere School is no longer in
development so this should be the final version of this guide barring
possible minor edits or corrections.

The game consists of nine stages: Chapter 1, Nightmare 1, Chapter 2, Nightmare
2, Chapter 3, Nightmare 3, Chapter 4, Nightmare 4, and Chapter 5.  They must
be completed in that order, but you can go back to previous stages using the
main menu and replay them if you'd like.

The controls can be edited in the settings menu.  Here are the defaults:

WASD: Move Around
Mouse: Control Camera
Left Mouse Button: Attack (with a weapon)
Q: Put away/Take out weapon
E: Use/Interact/Talk

The controls take a little practice, but are generally serviceable.  The main
problem you might encounter is trying to place a body in an open grave and
burying the body.  It can be a bit finicky to bury the body properly and
sometimes a body will count as buried even if part of it is sticking up above
ground.  Pay attention to Akari's comments and other cues.  You can only dig
graves on long rectangular patches of grass that look different from their
surroundings.

Ideally, you want to kill your victim when the two of you are alone, and when
your victim is a short distance from the garden.  This isn't always possible
in practice.  Don't let yourself be caught carrying the body.  Other
characters have limited vision, so you can carry a body around outside simply
by keeping your distance from everyone, but you'll likely be caught in a
hallway or on a staircase if someone is nearby.

There might be multiple ways to complete each chapter and each nightmare, so
feel free to experiment.  Different characters move around to different
locations during the day, so if you are fast or slow you might not find them
in the areas discussed below.  A skull icon gives a general location of where
a victim is and a heart gives the location of Makio.  If you are near a knife,
bat, or other weapon, you'll see a gray icon and the object will glow purple.
You'll need a shovel to complete every chapter (but not the nightmares) an
it also serves as a weapon.

Chapter 1:

Find and kill Meisa Ito.  She has blue hair.  Follow her into class on the
first floor.  Sit at a desk by the window and take a short test.  Eventually
she will leave class and head to the girls' bathroom.  Kill her in there and
bring her down to the garden and bury her.  When you do so, Akari will comment
that she should talk to Makio.  Follow the gray heart icon to him and talk to
him.

Nightmare 1:

Find Meisa and kill her.  She is with Makio outside the school.  You don't
need to worry about burying her or being caught since the stage ends
immediately afterwards.

Chapter 2:

Find and kill Angelina.  She has orange hair.  If you talk to her, she will
follow you around.  You can lead her into the garden and kill and bury her
there.  Then talk to Makio.

Nightmare 2:

You control a teacher and your goal is to kill Akari.  There is a katana in
the classroom with Akari on the first floor.  Don't worry about being caught
or seen.

Chapter 3:

This is probably the most complex of the stages.  You start near the baseball
field and there is a bat nearby as a weapon.  Wait long enough and Keita will
wander off towards the garden to smoke.  You can kill him there and bury him
nearby.  There should be a shovel in that garden.  Go back to the baseball
field.  Eventually a bell will ring and it will rain.  Ryoichi will head
towards the school.  Follow him into the cafeteria.  When he is alone, kill
him and bury him in the garden nearby.  Talk with Makio in the computer club
on the second floor.

Nightmare 3:

You control Makio.  Find Akari and interact with her.  She should be outside
the school somewhere near the cafeteria.  Red hearts surround her.

Chapter 4:

Yuka is dressed differently and has a white shirt with plaid skirt, so she
stands out among the other girls.  You should be able to intercept her on the
third floor of the school.  Kill and bury her, then talk with Makio on the
first floor.

Nightmare 4:

You need to kill Yuka, but every girl is dressed like Yuka.  When you are near
a girl, the girl's real name appears in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Killing the real Yuka ends the level immediately.

Chapter 5:

Victoria the nurse will eventually leave her office and go to the cafeteria.
Eventually she'll be alone in there.  Kill her and bury her in the nearby
garden and talk to Makio on the first floor.  You might be able to intercept
her on the way down the stairs if you are careful.

Steam Achievements:

Following the above guide awards the following achievements: Chapter 1,
Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Nightmare 1, Nightmare 2,
Nightmare 3, Nightmare 4.  Here are the remaining achievements:

Smoking Kills:  Killing Keita when he leaves baseball practice to smoke will
award this.  Killing him on or near the stone staircase is enough.

Tea After School: On the third floor is a room with a cake and some cups of
tea.  Sit down in the chair near the window and you'll receive this
achievement.  There isn't an animation of Akari eating cake or drinking tea.
It will unlock as soon as you sit down.  There is also a knife in the room you
can use as a weapon if you choose.

Dangerous WC: On Day 1 you can kill Meisa in the bathroom if you wait long
enough.  Alternatively, on Day 2 lead Angelina to the bathroom and kill her
there.

Accidents Happen:  On Day 2 you can lead Angelina to the roof and push her
off the side.  It's easier if you don't pick up a weapon on this stage so you
don't accidentally beat her instead.

Miscellaneous:

Completing a day or nightmare awards coins.  When you are in Akari's apartment
you can interact with her mirror to purchase and select new clothing and
hairstyles with coins.  This is entirely cosmetic and has no effect on
gameplay.

Characters that are standing around will have short conversations with one
another.  Enjoy the dubious quality voice acting.
