[2] Where’s the Blanket, Charlie Brown? Brief Information
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[2.1] Plot
The game starts out on any other day. Charlie Brown is sitting in his
room, doing homework, when Linus runs into the room in a panic. He
explains that he and Lucy’s grandmother is coming to visit and she
hates his blanket. He asks Charlie Brown what to do. Charlie Brown
suggests that Linus hide the blanket, but Linus knows his grandmother
would find it. Charlie Brown then says to leave the blanket with him
at his house, as it will be safe there. With a bit of reluctance,
Linus finally agrees and gives the blanket to Charlie Brown.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[2.2] Gameplay
This game involves using the mouse to move around in the Peanuts’
world and also to interact with various objects.

At the bottom of the screen in-game is a tab of your different
options. There are eight different symbols;

The American Flag and the German Flag show which language is
currently being used. You can switch them as you please by clicking
on them.

The two Woodstock birds on the slope are there to change the game’s
volume. The Woodstock on the low side has the volume at low; the
Woodstock on the high side has the volume at high. You can change the
game’s volume at any time by clicking on it.

The music note turns the music on or off by clicking on it.

The symbol of Charlie Brown and Snoopy in the bean bag chair lets you
pause or stop the game at any time.

The kite allows you to access the different mini-games that are found
within the game. There are nine different mini-games that can be
unlocked.

The cabinet is your inventory. Drag necessary items to your inventory
to store them in when needed.

The meter indicates Snoopy’s mood. When the needle is on the left
side Snoopy’s doing poorly, when it’s in the center, Snoopy is doing
fine, when it’s on the right, Snoopy’s doing great. His mood can be
improved by giving him things that he would like; cookies for
example.

The symbol of Snoopy on his doghouse allows you to quit the game as
necessary.

When playing a mini-game, the inventory and Snoopy meter are replaced
with a dog bowl with a question mark floating over it and two
Snoopys.

The dog bowl with the question mark is where you can get advice from
Charlie Brown or Lucy for said mini-game.

The two Snoopys can change the game’s difficulty. The smaller Snoopy
makes the game easy, while the larger Snoopy makes the game fairly
difficult.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3] Characters
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3.1] Charlie Brown
Charlie Brown is the main protagonist of the game. Being that nothing
good really seems to happen to Charlie Brown, he tries to take life
in a stride and disregard any shortcomings that happen. He’s an all-
around good friend, especially to those that need to his help. He
chooses to help Linus hide his blanket from the Van Pelt’s
grandmother.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3.2] Lucy Van Pelt
Lucy Van Pelt is Linus’ crabby older sister and partially an
antagonist in the game. Though she’s not evil, Lucy often does things
for her own personal gain and satisfaction. For this reason, she
wants to find Linus’ blanket and give it to their grandmother to do
as she pleases with it. Despite this, she may not be all that bad
after all.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3.3] Snoopy
Snoopy is Charlie Brown’s goofy, but faithful dog and the
deuteragonist. Even though he isn’t capable of speaking, Snoopy uses
clever disguises and mannerisms to help him get by. He can be lazy at
times, but he winds up being a big help throughout the game.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3.4] Linus Van Pelt
Linus is Lucy’s younger brother and is a supporting character in the
game. Linus treasures his security blanket dearly, and tends to
ignore the constant remarks about it from others. However, when his
grandmother comes over to visit, she hates his blanket and will
possibly do harm to it. Luckily, Charlie Brown is there to help him
hide his blanket.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3.5] Sally Brown
Sally is Charlie Brown’s younger sister and is a supporting character
in the game. Sally is a well-opinionated, quirky young girl that
tends to follow behind the others. Sally loves her brother, but
doesn’t spare joining in when he’s being teased. She has a one-sided
crush on Linus.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3.6] Woodstock
Woodstock is a small yellow bird and Snoopy’s best friend. He’s got a
lot to say and can only communicate with Snoopy. Woodstock has plenty
of family and friends, all with the same appearance as him.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3.7] Peppermint Patty
Peppermint Patty is the tomboy of the group and a supporting
character in the game. Patty loves to rough it and play sports. She’s
known to talk a lot, not listen too well, and often not let anyone
else speak, jumping to conclusions. She has her own insecurities
regarding her looks and has a slight crush on Charlie Brown.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[3.8] Schroeder
Schroeder is the musician of the group and can usually be seen
playing his toy piano. His idol is Beethoven, as he usually plays
some of Beethoven’s compositions and also has a bust of him that is
usually set on his piano. He doesn’t speak much, as he’s too busy
playing, but he’s still a good friend. Lucy has a crush on him, much
to his disdain.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[4] Getting Started
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[4.1] Getting Started
When you start the game, you’ll get a chance to choose your preferred
language. There are only two options; “English” and “German”, as
shown by their country flags (the American Flag and the German Flag).
Pick your preference. Afterward, you can choose which character you’d
like to play as. You can play as either Charlie Brown or Lucy.

After you’ve chosen, you’ll be brought to a screen with six different
Snoopys. These are your save slots. Pick any one you’d like and the
game will begin!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[5] Part 1- Hide the Blanket, Charlie Brown!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[5.1] Hide the Blanket, Charlie Brown!
Charlie Brown is working on his math homework when Linus runs in and
explains the situation with his grandmother and his blanket. Charlie
Brown tells him to hide it, but Linus knows she’d find it. He’s got
no other options, until Charlie Brown suggests that he leaves the
blanket with him until his grandmother leaves. Though reluctant,
Linus finally agrees and leaves the blanket on the desk in Charlie
Brown’s room. At the brick wall, Linus is emotionally telling Charlie
Brown that he misses his blanket. Lucy is with them and angrily
exclaims that it’s not fair to their grandmother to hide the blanket
from her. After a bit, Charlie Brown/Lucy will enter Charlie Brown’s
room to find the blanket is gone. Looking around the room, you’ll
find that despite the blanket being there earlier, it’s gone
entirely. Look to the top of the shelf and you’ll see a magician’s
hat. Drag it and drop it in the inventory box at the bottom of the
screen. This hat belongs to “The Great Houndini” and will come in
handy later. Exit Charlie Brown’s room at the left to enter the
living room. By searching the living room thoroughly, you’ll find no
blanket. Sally’s room is at the left, but she’s working on a paper
and can’t be disturbed right now. But check the drawer in the bottom
left corner or underneath the coffee table to find a crystal ball.
Drag this crystal ball to the round bowl on the table. Head out to
the hallway at the right. A cloth up above that is blue will be
hanging from a shelf. By clicking on it, you’ll find that it was just
a scarf. Noise will be coming from the kitchen at the left. By
peering through the keyhole, you’ll see Snoopy is cooking up
something. Enter the kitchen. Snoopy appears to be busy making a
pizza. Click on the oven and he’ll put his pizza inside with another
one. Click it again to have him pull out the pizza and eat it.
Snoopy’s mood will have gone up. You’ll notice there is a blue cloth
wrapped around his neck. Click on him. Snoopy will become frightened
and run off into the living room to hide. You’ll be brought to the
living room for a round of “Catch the Beagle”. This is the first
mini-game to be unlocked. The object of the game is to click on
Snoopy when he appears from his hiding spot. If you miss him, he
relocates to another spot. Play through a round, or continue to play
“Catch the Beagle” as you please.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[6] Part 2- Enter The Great Houndini!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[6.1] Enter The Great Houndini!
After the game, Snoopy is exhausted and panting. Charlie Brown/Lucy
takes the cloth from around his neck, only to find it’s a blue
napkin. Charlie Brown/Lucy then commands Snoopy to sit, to which
Snoopy just sits down in the bean-bag chair. His mood has gone down
since then, and you really need the guidance of The Great Houndini.
Take the hat from your inventory and place it on Snoopy’s head. He’ll
stand and walk over to the crystal ball placed in the bowl and work
his magic. The image that appears is one of The Great Houndini’s
magic shows with Peppermint Patty as his volunteer. There appears to
be a blue cloth around her neck! Charlie Brown/Lucy leaves with
Snoopy to go see the show. Once there, Peppermint Patty is seemingly
stuck in the magic box. Opening the flaps, her body parts seem to be
rearranged. The object of this mini-game is turn to the flaps so that
her body will align once again. Using the arrows on the flaps swaps
that particular body part with the one adjacent to it. To see where a
part is, click the knobs on the sides of the flaps. When she’s put
back together, the show will end. Charlie Brown/Lucy takes the cloth
from Peppermint Patty, who angrily exclaims that the cloth isn’t
Linus’ blanket but her Girl Scout scarf. Without any other luck,
Charlie Brown/Lucy returns to Charlie Brown’s room. On the desk,
you’ll notice something that wasn’t there before. A library card!
Click on it and Charlie Brown/Lucy and Snoopy will head to the
library. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed inside. No matter how
many times you go inside, Snoopy will just get thrown out. If his
mood goes down, click on the cookies inside the newspaper box to
improve his mood. You’ll need a disguise in order to get Snoopy
inside. Head back to the house and click on the sunglasses on the
shelf in the hallway. It may not seem like much, but it will work! Go
back to the library and drag the sunglasses to Snoopy, then proceed
inside.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[7] Part 3- Who Used the Library Card?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[7.1] Who Used the Library Card?
Now that you’re inside, it’s time to find out who used Charlie
Brown’s library card during your absence. Click on the bell at the
front desk to get the librarian’s attention. According to the
librarian’s hint, it was a young girl that used the card and borrowed
a lot of books. She knows that there are still books on the table
where the girl sat, but she doesn’t know exactly where she sat. Time
to look around! At the bottom of the screen in the tab is a book
button. This gives you a hint as to what the book is which will lead
you to where she sat. Follow the clue given to find the particular
book. You can proceed to the north to find another room or to the
left to another room. From the north room, at the left and right have
two more rooms you can look in. From the left room is the way back to
the reception desk in the front. From the right room is another room,
which can also be accessed from the front and going to the left.
Click on the different books to see their covers. When you see the
correct book correlating to the hint given, click on the cover. When
you find the table the girl sat at, you’ll find a lot of books on
sewing and handy-craft, but also a little pink bow. Charlie
Brown/Lucy identifies the bow as Sally’s and goes back to the Brown
house to see her. In Sally’s room, you’ll find that Sally is not
around, but there are shreds of blue fabric lying around in her room.
Charlie Brown/Lucy finds the first shred. Could it be the blanket?
Collect all five remaining pieces; one is tacked to the bulletin
board, one is hanging from the drawer, two are hanging from the
bookcase, and one is hanging from a box of toys on the floor. Fit all
six pieces together and you’ll find that the fabric was only a
napkin. But now we need to figure out where Sally is and ask her a
few questions as to the whereabouts of the blanket. But where could
she be? Look to the book shelf and pick up the scrap of paper. The
paper has directions on it, which lead to her computer camp. That’s
where she is! Drag the directions to the inventory box. From there,
Charlie Brown/Lucy and Snoopy head to the bus stop.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[8] Part 4- Sally’s Computer Camp
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[8.1] Sally’s Computer Camp
At the bus stop, you’ll find that a bus is parked, but there’s no bus
driver. Snoopy hops in the driver’s seat and reads a newspaper. Drag
the camp directions to the clipboard and then drag the driver’s hat
to Snoopy’s head. Snoopy starts the bus and Charlie Brown/Lucy
boards. This mini-game involves driving to the computer camp. The bus
is represented by its symbol on the map, while the computer camp is
at the end of the maze. Snoopy stops at each street corner. Obeying
the street laws, make your way to the camp by using the arrow buttons
to tell Snoopy where to go. Some streets only allow you to go one
way, so plan your route wisely. Once at the camp, you’ll enter and be
confronted by a robot. The robot refuses to let you through, despite
anything you say. The only way to get past it is to play its mini-
game. Click on the door and the robot won’t let you past until you
play. The object of the robot’s mini-game is to listen to the robot’s
hints as to which Linus he’s looking for. Different Linuses will run
across the robot’s screen. You have to find the one it’s looking for
and click on it. After 3 rounds, the robot will let you through. By
asking around, you’ll find that none of the kids around know where
Sally is. By clicking on the computer monitor at the bottom right,
you can access a coloring mini-game if you’d like. Head through the
door at the top left and you’ll come to a room where Sally is
coloring with crayons on paper. This IS computer camp, right? Anyway,
click on Charlie Brown/Lucy and he/she will ask if Sally took the
blanket. Sally admits to taking the blanket subtly and says that she
knows that Linus (or her “Sweet Baboo”)is helpless and vulnerable
without his blanket. However, she sent the blanket in a package
through express mail to the Van Pelt home.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[9] Part 5- To Schroeder’s House!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[9.1] To Schroeder’s House!
You’ll have reached the Van Pelt home. If we’re lucky, the Van Pelt’s
grandmother either hasn’t got the mail yet or the mail hasn’t arrived
yet. The mailbox appears to be empty! Knock on the door to the house
at the right to talk with their grandmother. It sounds like their
grandmother wasn’t home in the afternoon when the package might have
arrived. Perhaps the neighbors signed for the package? I suppose this
was normal, common courtesy in the 1950s? Anyway, click on the path
at the left and you’ll see Schroeder’s house. Click on his house and
you’ll enter to find Schroeder playing a Beethoven composition on his
toy piano. He’ll greet you, but become focused with playing more. In
order to get his attention, click on the music notes playing up
above. Snoopy will reach up and mess them up, triggering a mini-game.
The object of this mini-game is to select the correct note that plays
in the same pattern as the way Schroeder is playing. This particular
game requires listening, so pay attention to the composition
Schroeder plays. Click on the notes to hear what trill plays. When
you find the one that matches what Schroeder plays, drag it to the
staff lines. If you forgot the tune, click on Schroeder and he’ll
play it again. Now that you have his attention, Charlie Brown/Lucy
will ask if he knows anything about Linus’ package. Schroeder claims
that he knows nothing of a package, but allows you to look around as
you please. Click on the door to check the hall. The package doesn’t
seem to be lying around anywhere. But, up above in the slot on the
wall that might be it! Open the closet at the top of the stairs and
drag the ladder to where the slot is. After opening the package,
inside is the long looked-for blanket! At last! However, a loud crash
draws you back up to Schroeder’s room, Charlie Brown/Lucy tosses the
blanket aside to go look. It appears that Snoopy broke the Beethoven
bust that was resting on the piano. Luckily, Schroeder can replace it
with one in his cabinet. Suddenly, his mother comes in and lets him
know she’s leaving. As you go to retrieve the blanket, you’ll find
that it’s gone! Schroeder and Snoopy come down and survey the scene.
Logically, Schroeder draws the conclusion that his mother must’ve
taken the blanket. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know where she left to.
Enter the kitchen on the right. Click the scrap of paper on top of
the window sill to find a shopping list. Put it in your inventory and
bring it to Schroeder. He exclaims that she went to the supermarket,
but forgot her shopping list as usual. Time for a trip to the local
supermarket!

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[10] Part 6- Supermarket Frenzy
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[10.1] Supermarket Frenzy
You’ve arrived at the supermarket, but there seems to be no sign of
Schroeder’s mother. Perhaps, Snoopy can find her! Give him the
shopping list and he’ll follow the scent. With the scent caught,
Snoopy starts running through the aisles. You have to chase Snoopy
down the aisles by controlling Charlie Brown/Lucy. Steer them using
the left and right arrow keys, but be careful of the obstacles in the
aisle. You will lose time because you have to clean up the mess.
You’ll have found Schroeder’s mother at the end. His mother seems to
have thought the blanket was a cleaning rag and instructs you to
check the cleaning supply closet in the kitchen.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[11] Part 7- Up in a Tree!
Click the open window in the closet and you’ll head outside to the
yard. Outside, the blanket appears to be nowhere in sight, but click
on the yellow feather in the bush. Add the feather to your inventory.
Hanging from one of the strings holding the tree up is a tiny crash
helmet. Drag it to your inventory as well. Click on Snoopy’s doghouse
in the background and make your way there. Once there, click on it
again and Snoopy will enter it, coming out garbed in detective
clothing. Give him the feather as a clue and Woodstock will come to
mind. You’ll return to Schroeder’s yard. Click on the screen to the
right, and Snoopy will begin talking to Woodstock. Woodstock claims
that the blanket is up in the tree. Charlie Brown/Lucy can’t climb
all the way up to the top, so we’ll need a different alternative.
Drag the crash helmet from your inventory and give it to Woodstock,
who will put it on. Next, Snoopy will spin his ears like a helicopter
propeller and fly up the tree. For this mini-game, the objective is
to fly up the tree, while avoiding obstacles like tree branches and
leaves. Drag Snoopy using the mouse, but be careful of those
obstacles! Lead him through the branches upward to the top of the
tree. Woodstock’s family and friends are at the top. One of them has
to have the blanket! Click to the right and you’ll find two more
nests. One of them has the blanket being used as a tent! Click on it!

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[12] The End
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[12.1] The End
After an endless search, the blanket is finally in your possession!
Linus runs up and embraces his blanket, their grandmother is finally
gone and he can have it back at last! With the mystery of the blanket
over, the credits roll, thus ending the game.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-[13] Mini-Games
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.1] Catch the Beagle
“Catch the Beagle” involves clicking on Snoopy when he emerges from
his hiding spot. In easy mode, Snoopy emerges from his hiding spot at
a slow pace, allowing you an easy time to get him. In hard mode,
Snoopy emerges quickly and then disappears quickly, giving you a
harder time in clicking him.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.2] The Great Houndini
“The Great Houndini” involves rearranging Peppermint Patty’s body
parts so that they’re put back together correctly. Using the arrows
on the flaps will swap the different body parts. In easy mode, you
only have to switch 6 body parts around. In hard mode, you have to
switch the 6 body parts correctly in a set amount of time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.3] Find the Book Game
“Find the Book” involves using various hints about a book to find the
table where a “little girl” was sitting. Using these hints, click the
book covers to see if you found the correct book. In easy mode, the
hint is very specific. In hard mode, the book is a bit harder to
find.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.4] A Bus Trip with Snoopy
“A Bus Trip with Snoopy” involves giving Snoopy directions to drive
to the computer camp. Snoopy stops at each corner, in which you must
direct him which way by clicking on the arrows. In easy mode, the
route is more flexible. In hard mode, there is only one correct
route.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.5] Brain Game
“Brain Game” involves following the robot’s clues to find the correct
Linus. In easy mode, the robot describes what one of the Linuses is
wearing. In hard mode, the robot is looking for the answer (held by
one of the Linuses) to a math problem.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.6] Draw
“Draw” is really a no-rules game. You’re free to color characters and
add backgrounds to your pictures.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.7] Sounds All Over the Place
“Sounds All Over the Place” involves finding the correct notes for
Schroeder. Schroeder will play a note that you must find by clicking
and listening to the tune of the different notes. In easy mode, the
note is shorter. In hard mode, the note is longer.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.8] Supermarket Rally
“Supermarket Rally” involves chasing Snoopy down the aisles at the
supermarket. You must steer clear of obstacles in the aisle in order
to catch up to Snoopy. Hitting obstacles wastes time. In easy mode,
there are fewer obstacles. In hard mode, there are more obstacles.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[13.9] Helicopter Game
“Helicopter Game” involves steering Snoopy safely through the tree
while avoiding crashing into branches. In easy mode, there are fewer
obstacles. In hard mode, there are more obstacles.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[14] Final Word
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
[14.1] Final Word
And thus ends my walkthrough of “Where’s the Blanket, Charlie
Brown?”. I know how difficult this game can be, in terms of figuring
out what to do next. I was happy to break it down for those that
would like to complete the game. I hope you enjoyed the walkthrough!
(:

Until next time! Thanks!
