After the scene, you crawl out into a damp cavern. Trudge forward (or hold
down L2 to run) as your character mumbles to themselves about the strange
cave drawings plastered about. Enter the next room and exit the cave. Run
through the path until it expands into a beautiful landscape.

After gawking, follow the dirt trail to a tree surrounded by odd blue orbs;
don't worry about 'em for now and continue ahead. As you see, the forest is
inhabited by glowing green creatures called daemons. Fortunately, they are
harmless are merely curious little critters. Run past them up the hill to an
old army truck and open the crate to acquire the L.E.A.F. Suit.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Search for the Lifeseed near the digsite

This game, as seen from the L.E.A.F. Suit tutorial, gives off a strong
"Bioshock meets Fallout" vibe. Now equipped with a metallic exoskeleton, you
can run faster and also jump with the X button. Try jumping up the ledges to
Access Tunnel B.

Running downhill in your new suit creates incredible momentum and allows you
to make inhuman leaps. Run down the slope and hit X at the incline at the
bottom to make a massive jump over the fence. The next few areas serve as a
playground for this fun technique.

After jumping over a broken bridge, round the corner into a dead forest.
Here you learn about using amrita to give life to deceased flora and fauna.
Some important things to know about amrita and general in-game mechanics:

> Press RT to shoot energy at a dead tree to revive it. Doing so depletes
  your amrita storage (the blue ovals at the top of your HUD). Your targeting
  reticule turns green when aiming at any dead object, whether it be a tree,
  bush, vine, or an animal. Collecting blue orbs restores energy.

> The main advantage to restoring life is to keep the valley alive. You can't
  exactly die in this game, but the valley itself that the game takes place
  in can. Its life is represented by green leaves above your energy meter.
  There are several ways to be incapacitated, including falling in water or
  taking damage when your energy meter is completely drained. If you are
  incapacitated, you restart at the previous checkpoint and a few leaves
  disappear.

  If this trend continues, the surrounding landscape will become more
  desolate and barren, and if the valley dies then it's game over. That's why
  coming across and reviving plants and animals is an integral part to
  progressing through your adventure.

> Reviving trees in particular can potentially drop golden acorns. Acorns are
  collectibles that allow you to access secret doors and obtain new items and
  L.E.A.F. Suit upgrades. There are a number of reasons to help restore life
  to the valley!

Keep shooting amrita energy into trees until you run out, then move forward
to find some blue orbs. Grab them to refill your stock a bit, then follow the
trail of blue orbs. Just after the first few blue orbs, turn west/northwest
and head that way to come to a dead end with two crates containing 3 acorns
and a [MEDALLION].

Double back to the path, grab some more blue orbs, then sprint down the hill
and jump across the water. Run forward and across another pool of water, then
go up ahead to learn about amrita stealing. Here in the field are several
deer grazing and wandering about.

> If you are low on energy and there are no orbs in sight, you can replenish
  your supply by taking energy from living things. Moving your crosshairs on
  living things turns it blue, and you can press RB to sap amrita. Later on
  when you enter combat situations, energy becomes very important and this is
  a useful tool. Of course, stealing energy from living things causes the
  valley to wither, so you need to play a careful game of give and take when
  in tight situations.

___________________________________________________________________________

There's no need right now to steal life from the valley, so follow the linear
path until you reach some ruins.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way through the ancient ruins

Collect any blue orbs if your energy is low, since you'll need amrita to pass
through the ancient ruins. Along the back wall is a door marked with a
drawing of an odd creature, referred to as a wendigo by local natives. Open
wendigo doors by shooting energy at special trees surrounded by orange
fireflies. The fireflies react to energy, causing the door to open.

The next room contains another wendigo door and more firefly trees (and some
friendly daemons). Revive all three trees to open the door. Go inside the
ruins and up the stairs to a crate containing [2 ENERGY UPGRADES]. Collecting
four of these capacitor upgrades gives you a whole new energy canister, akin
to Legend of Zelda. There is also a note on the shelf across from the crate.

Jump over the hurdle and open the crate in the back corner for [2 ENERGY
UPGRADES]. Completing the set earns you a third energy canister. Fall down to
the lower level and proceed to the wendigo door. Shoot the firefly tree
opposite the door and a second one on the ledge above it. Lights above the
door indicate how many firefly trees are associated with opening it - still
need one more.

Go down the hallway and up the stairs to find the third tree across a stream.
Shoot it to open the door, then approach the crate near the second tree for a
[MEDALLION] and an acorn. Drop down to the open door.

Stay on the ledge and look on the left side of the stairs to find a

Studio's previous game, Slender: The Arrival. There is significance to
this easter egg though, for if you find all eight pages (one is found in
each of the game's first eight levels) you unlock a Trophy.
___________________________________________________________________________

Exit through the now-open door.

Run through the tunnel until you reach an open hole in the ground - before
taking the leap, head southwest into a side passage leading to two crates:
one contains 2 acorns and the other holds an acorn and a [MEDALLION]. Return
to the hole and jump down.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Continue search for Lifeseed

Descend the stairs and hop over the gap, then check out the two crates near
the waterfall for an [ENERGY UPGRADE] and 2 acorns. Follow the tunnel out of
the ruins to Susurrus Valley. As you go down the stairs, turn around and
look behind/underneath the staircase for a crate containing a [MEDALLION].

Go through the woods and begin crossing the dilapidated stone bridge; before
you make it across, it collapses and sends you to your death.

The L.E.A.F. Suit allows you to return from death, but (as mentioned before)
repeated brushes with death causes the valley itself to begin dying. If all
the leaves fall off on the HUD, then your next death will be permanent. Make
sure to revive local wildlife to repopulate the valley and restore its
life force. Jump across the broken bridge and revive all the dead trees here
en route to the next area.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Follow the Titan Tree's roots to activate all of the obelisks

The large tree in the center of the cathedral apparently has the power to
produce a Lifeseed, and activating the three obelisks will help with that.
First, stay inside the building and look for two crates: one holds a note
and the other holds a note and a [MEDALLION].

The three obelisks are to the west, north, and east. You can activate them in
any order. For the sake of the guide, I'll go from west to east. You can view
the obelisks from the glowing blue lights at the top of each one.

___________________________________________________________________________

Follow the roots leading to the western tower until you reach a stone wall
and a glowing door. You can open these special doors by cashing in golden
acorns. The three dead trees next to the acorn door have a 100% acorn drop
rate, just in case you are short on supplies.

Acorn Door (Cost: 3)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Open the acorn door to enter the ruins, then hop across the platforms to
reach a crate with 3 acorns and a note inside. From the crate, walk up the
hill to reach the western obelisk - shoot the spherical item with amrita to
activate the obelisk.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Activate the remaining 2 obelisks
The light inside the obelisk powers off... you've got two left. Run down the
large root in front of you and leap off the edge to end up near the acorn
door. Continue along the wall and head west along the path near the water's
edge; at the end is another acorn door.
Acorn Door (Cost: 15)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you've been reviving trees and opening all the crates during your journey
journey then you should have more than enough to open the door. Once inside,
proceed through the cavern and open the crate along the path for an [ENERGY
UPGRADE] and [2 MEDALLIONS]. There is a second crate further down with an
[ENERGY UPGRADE] and an acorn inside. Shoot the firefly tree to open the
exit.

You wind up north of the acorn door. Next up, make your way to the second
obelisk. Go east to the base of the tower and run down the slope to smash
through the stone wall in front of you. Climb the stairs to the top, collect
the [ENERGY UPGRADE] from inside the crate, and activate the obelisk.

___________________________________________________________________________

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Activate the final obelisk

The last one is on the far east end of the valley. Make your way east and
look for a stable bridge to take you towards the obelisk. Cross the bridge,
then turn left and go up the slope. At the top, look over the edge and jump
all the way down to the beach. There's a crate on a platform surrounded by
pillars: open it for 3 acorns and an [ENERGY UPGRADE]. Turn around and head
northeast/east across the beach and up the hill to end up where you once
were.

The obelisk is situated on an island, so navigating the lake can be dangerous
if your platforming skills aren't up to par. Use running jumps to cross the
rocks to the island. Before entering the obelisk, open the crate on the edge
of the island for a [MEDALLION]. Another crate inside the obelisk holds an
[ENERGY UPGRADE].

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Return to explore the Titan Tree

South of the obelisk is another patch of rocks leading to an island. Make
your way to that island to find a [MEDALLION] inside a crate at the base of
the tree. Now return to the Titan Tree to find a crater underneath the tree.
Down at the bottom, listen to Virginia King's audio log as you explore.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Search for Lifeseed's whereabouts

In front of you is a crate with a [MEDALLION] inside, and a large chest
containing the Icarus Boost jump upgrade. You can now double jump, with the
second jump costing one energy unit. Pathfinder physicist Andrew Fisher
gives you the rundown on the Icarus Boost via an audio log.

Double jump out of the room and continue through the cave. There are plenty
of blue orbs to keep your amrita stock at near capacity. Continue through the
tunnels until you get another quest update.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way to get to the Soma Facility atop the mountain

Jump up to the ledge and hold down L2 to sprint down the slope. At the edge
of the ramp, press X to make a massive leap spanning much of the valley. As
you soar through the air, adjust your position to the right of the large
building in front of you. Save your second jump and use it to enter the
alcove to the right of the building. There are three crates here, for a total
of 3 acorns, a [MEDALLION], and an [ENERGY UPGRADE].

If you miss the landing, you can always backtrack to the Titan Tree and go
through the cave to try again. It's not a long journey now that you have the
Icarus Boost.

Drop down to the building and look for a sign reading "Soma Loading Bay" to
find a crate with a note and an acorn. There's still a bit of exploring to
do now that you have the Icarus Boost, so don't go inside the loading bay.

Drop back down to the beach you visited earlier and go up the slope. Go to
the top of the hill and face southeast. If you sprint down the hill and jump
at the edge, you can double jump to the land. Go up the hill to reach some
stone columns and a crate containing an [ENERGY UPGRADE]. Turn around to face
the totem, then look on the tree to the right of it to spot a [SLENDER PAGE]
on the trunk.

Face south and continue down the hill, then forward into a beachside cave. It
appears to be a dead end, but double jump onto the rock near the tree to find
a hidden trail leading to an [ENERGY UPGRADE] and an [ENERGY CANISTER], which
automatically gives you four units of energy!

Return to the loading bay. The Icarus Boost upgrade in your possession means
you don't have to take the convoluted path underneath the Titan Tree to get
back there.

An amrita swarm patrols the inside of the loading bay. This swarm of
predatory insects can fire powerful amrita projectiles, so strafe when in
combat. Use your own amrita shots to defeat it - when pacified, you can pass
through amrita swarms to refill a whole stack of energy.

Go up the metal catwalk to the next room, then jump onto the ledge and use
diagonal support beam to reach the second floor. From here, turn back around
and double jump from the beam onto the roof of the building; up here is a
[MEDALLION] inside a crate.

From the second floor you can jump across the foyer and into the opening on
the opposite wall. Crack open the crate for an [ENERGY CANISTER], then enter
the elevator. Shoot the generator to turn it on and activate the elevator.

> Get to the Soma Facility atop the mountain

The elevator malfunctions and collapses en route, forcing you to climb up the
rest of the mountain on foot. Exit the elevator and search the metal cargo
container for a [MEDALLION]. Go up the ramp and jump down into the wooded
area, then open another crate for an [ENERGY UPGRADE] with a note attached.
Run down the slope and leap off the ramp to the other side, and take down the
amrita swarm waiting for you.

Jump across the rock columns to reach a staircase. Go up it and defeat the
amrita swarm. Near here is a crate with an acorn and an [ENERGY UPGRADE]
inside. A wendigo door high up on a cliff blocks your path; start off by
reviving the firefly tree on the eastern ledge above the tents and flag.
To the right of the tree is a rocky outcropping along the edge - jump to it
to find a crate holding a [MEDALLION] and 2 acorns.

Jump back across and climb up the next row of rock columns to find the second
and third firefly trees. Go up the stairs and through the wendigo door.

The hilltop leads to a very steep slope with a large ramp at the end... you
know what to do next. However, hold off on the big run and jump. Casually
walk down to the ramp and turn to the right to follow the string of rocks.
Take this trail to loop underneath the ramp and enter the cave directly
under the ramp.

This secret tunnel contains two crates; they contain 2 acorns and an [ENERGY
UPGRADE], and 3 acorns and a [MEDALLION]. Also make sure to inspect the
[SLENDER PAGE] on the wall near the crates. The end of the tunnel takes you
back before the wendigo door - no need to go that way, so instead backtrack
and return to the hilltop. Go light speed down the hill and jump off the ramp
to the next region.

Approach the Soma Utility Shack and defeat the amrita swarm hovering above
the roof. As you climb up to its location, you'll notice that the roof is
cracked and glowing. Jump down to the other side and get on the trail leading
up the cliff. Before going up, enter the open hatch door and crack open the
crate for a note and a [MEDALLION].

Now go to the top of the cliff and jump down onto the unstable roof to break
through. Inside, look next to the open pipe for a crate with an acorn and an
[ENERGY UPGRADE] inside. Next, enter the pipe and follow it to an open area.
Slide down to the pair of crates below. Open the smaller one for 2 acorns and
a note, then inspect the larger one for the Viper Coil upgrade.

The Viper Coil acts as a grappling hook to allow Pathfinders to cross large
gaps and reach new heights. You can latch onto deadeye crane blocks (costing
1 energy unit) and swing back and forth by holding down R2. Let go of the
button to let go of the grappling hook, and releasing mid-swing gives you an
added momentum boost.

Try it out on the deadeye in front of you and swing across to the island.
Open the chest for 5 acorns and swing to the next island. Revive the two
trees here for a nice collection of acorns needed to open the door in front
of you.

Acorn Door (Cost: 5)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Open the acorn door to enter what appears to be a dead end. Check the crate
for a note and an acorn, then look up to spot a deadeye (note: deadeyes that
turn from red to blue means you are in Viper Coil range). Swing up to the
deadeye and let go midway to propel yourself up to the high ledge.
Follow the path to reach another acorn door. This one is optional, but you
should have enough golden acorns to gain access. There is a note inside a
crate next to the door.
Acorn Door (Cost: 12)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beyond the acorn door is a large crate containing an [ENERGY CANISTER].

Use your Viper Coil up ahead and deal with the amrita swarm, open the crate
for 2 acorns, and hop up to the pacified swarm. Refill your energy before
hopping onto the metal walkway.

> Explore the elevator shaft

Before going into the shaft, proceed to the end of the catwalk for a note and
an [ENERGY UPGRADE] in the two crates. Next, take the plunge in the shaft,
breaking several stacks of wooden boards all the way to the bottom. Power up
the generator to get the elevator up and running again. Once you reach the
top, exit the elevator.

___________________________________________________________________________

Walk down the metal pipes and swing over to the Pathfinder Training Area.
This wooded area is filled with many platforms to help with jumping and
maneuvering in L.E.A.F. Suits. One of the platforms holds a crate with 2
acorns and a [MEDALLION] in it. On the north side of the area there is a
ledge leading to the next area.

Get onto the roof and hop down to the campsite where an amrita swarm lurks.
Check the crates here for 2 notes and an [ENERGY UPGRADE], then go west and
double jump off the ramp to the deadeye, allowing you to swing across the
rest of the way.

Follow the metal pipes to a cliff. Open the crates for a note, [MEDALLION],
and [ENERGY UPGRADE]. This jump is tough to make even with the use of the
Viper Coil, and you'll really have to use your swing's momentum to get an
added boost. The best way to get across is to go back up the pipes and use a
bit of extra speed to start your jump. Jump once, hook, swing, let go, and
use your second jump to make it across.

Collect all the blue orbs and cross the broken bridge. As the path shifts up
the hill, make sure to look for and inspect the cargo containers at the
corner for a [MEDALLION] in a crate. Now go up the slope and pass the vehicle
to reach the entrance to the Soma Facility. At the top of the hill, go around
the metal fence on your left and explore the other side for a [MEDALLION] at
the end.

Now get closer to the building to trigger a new quest update.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way inside the abandoned facility

Before looking for a way in, lets explore the surrounding area first. To the
right of the building are some more cargo containers and a couple crates. One
holds a [MEDALLION] and the other a note and 2 acorns.

From the front entrance, go to the left to find another crate containing 3
amrita packs - these refill 4 units of energy. Jump up to the left for yet
another crate and pry it open for a [MEDALLION]. Continue around the left
side of the facility and collect the [MEDALLION] inside a crate and go
towards the line of cargo containers near the back of the building; there's a
crate with an [ENERGY UPGRADE] and an acorn inside the open one.

Return to the ledge to the left of the facility entrance and climb up onto
the roof where an amrita swarm is waiting. Shoot it and look for a crate
under the pacified swarm for an amrita pack. Jump behind the swarm to find a
crate near the back edge of the roof. Grab the [MEDALLION] inside and return
to the swarm.

Follow the series of ramps to cross the rooftop and reach the upper portion
of the facility roof. A large metal beam connects to the next section, but
don't follow it just yet. Drop down below and take the [ENERGY UPGRADE] out
of the crate.

Turn back round and go north, hopping onto the two transformers and double
jumping back up to the metal beam. Now go across and jump across towards the
amrita storage pods. Enter the ventilation shaft and follow the path to fight
a green amrita swarm. They're essentially the same as the purple ones but
move faster and are therefore more difficult to hit. In this section is a
crate containing 3 acorns.

Once it is taken care of, swing up to the deadeye and use your momentum to
propel yourself onto the top of the roof across from the metal tower. Pick up
the [MEDALLION] from in the crate, then look off the edge below the deadeye
crate. Jump off and aim for the weakened floor to go tumbling down into the
Soma Facility.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Explore facility in search of Lifeseed

There is a storage cell in the corner of the first room here. If you are low
on energy and there are no orbs present, you can sap energy from these
storage cells. Not only that, but their energy reserves (slowly) replenish to
give you an endless supply of amrita if you are patient. Next to the storage
cell is a generator that can be powered up to open a door.

Go up the stairs to find a crate containing an [ENERGY UPGRADE] and a note.
Check the box of Andrew Fisher's audio logs for some more backstory. Shoot
the generator concealed by the stack of cardboard boxes to open another door.

Go down the ramp into the large warehouse and power up the two generators in
here. Take out the green amrita swarm and explore the premises. One crate
lies near the shelving units, next to one of the overturned ones; it holds an
energy refill. Another crate with a note and [ENERGY UPGRADE] is up against
the wall behind the generator and storage cell, in a dark corner. The final
crate, holding a [MEDALLION], is inside a cargo container.

Go up the ramp to the second level and look for an open ventilation duct;
instead of going inside, jump on top of it and behind to find a second duct.
Go through this one to reach a secret room with 5 acorns and a [MEDALLION].
Exit and return to the first vent and crawl through.

The room looks to be a dead end, but looking above reveals a deadeye crate.
Use Viper Coil to sling yourself upwards and aim for the narrow walkway along
the side of the wall. Follow this walkway to a crate containing an [ENERGY
UPGRADE]. From here you can drop to the upper level and exit through the
ventilation shaft.

At the end of the shaft you drop into the archives with a large Pathfinder
statue in the middle; turning on the generator powers on the lights and opens
a door behind the statue.

Back up to the far wall and face the front of the statue - look to the right
for a crate with an [ENERGY UPGRADE], and further to the right is a [SLENDER
PAGE] nailed to a support pillar. There is a crate directly to the right of
the Pathfinder statue; open it for a note and a [MEDALLION]. Now continue up
the stairs and through the open door.

At the intersection, look left for a [MEDALLION] in a crate. Now go right.
Follow the dark hallway to another room, but continue down the hall to find a
crate with an energy refill in the corner.

The room ahead contains two amrita swarms and, of course, a generator. Give
it some juice and deal with the enemies. After clearing out the main office,
search behind the ramp for a crate with an [ENERGY UPGRADE]. Next, check the
office on the second floor for a note and another [ENERGY UPGRADE], then exit
through the moss-filled tunnel.

You emerge in a room that resembles a cafeteria or mess hall. Hit the
generator and look to the right for a crate holding a [MEDALLION]. A second
generator is further down past the first one, straight ahead. Shooting both
opens a door and causes a green amrita swarm to enter the cafeteria.
Don't leave just yet: search the opposite side of the room and hop over the
fence to reach a side branch where you'll find an [ENERGY UPGRADE] and a
note. Now you can leave.

Pass through the bathrooms and ascend the ramp, hitting another generator to
open the exit. Doing so also activates a projector on the other end of the
room. Exit the projector room and shoot the generator, then open the crate
close by to receive a [MEDALLION]. Go straight ahead, then turn right to spot
a crate in the wing; it contains an [ENERGY UPGRADE].

The room ahead is the pressurizer chamber: powering up the generator turns on
the lights and also causes two amrita swarms to enter the room. Shoot them
both and have a look around: a [MEDALLION] inside a crate lies between the
middle and right pressurizer thingies, a crate with an energy refill is on
the southwest wall, and a crate with an [ENERGY UPGRADE] and a note is on the
southeast wall near the doorway.

Descend the stairs and shoot the generator; this room is empty so quickly
pass through. Enter the passage and swing across the pool of water to reach
a busted elevator. Double jump to Floor 2, then use Viper Coil to fling
yourself up to Floor 5. Turn around and jump back down to Floor 4 to find a
[MEDALLION]. Back on Floor 5, walk forward and double jump over the crater.

There is a hole against the back wall that takes you on your way, but instead
turn to your right to uncover an acorn door.

Acorn Door (Cost: 26)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A large crate lies behind the acorn door; opening it uncovers an [ENERGY
CANISTER].
Drop down the hole in the ground outside the acorn door and walk over to the
control panel. Flip the switch to open the bay doors and pass through the
doorway to return to the warehouse at the beginning of the level. Two green
amrita swarms float up from the hatch, but you can ignore them and fall down
to end the level.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Get to the reactor deep within the mountain
You are greeted by a large chest as soon as the level begins: open it for the
Pushrod Piston suit upgrade. Afterwards, your elevator ride takes a sharp
turn downward. Shoot the generator to open the door and test out your new
L.E.A.F. Suit upgrade.
The Pushrod Pistons are definitely gimmicky, but they're fun as well. When
you run on special rails, your maximum velocity increases to staggering
amount as you channel your inner Sonic the Hedgehog. In addition, running on
the rails also recharges your energy. The pistons only work on these special
rails.
Since you're stuck running on the rails, the majority of this level is very
linear and straightforward. Due to this, there are only a handful of
collectibles. The first is not far from the start... as you run on the rails,
wait to find some wooden catwalks above your head. When you come across them,
jump on the lower one and then to the top one and open the crate here for an
[ENERGY UPGRADE].
Drop back on the track and continue forward. Up ahead you'll have to make a
big jump across a pool of water. There are a number of these sequences during
the rails ride. After landing on the other side, stop and double jump onto
the rocks on the left to find a [MEDALLION] and 2 acorns in the crate. Return
to the rails.
Sprint forward and speed right past the two unsuspecting amrita swarms. When
you enter the train tunnel, immediately stop and look behind the barricade at
the start of the tunnel for another crate containing 3 acorns. The path
splits, but it doesn't matter whether you take the upper or lower path.
Up ahead is a second jump. Pay close attention and carefully aim for the rock
island on the left side of the lake. Land on it and collect 3 acorns and a
[MEDALLION] from in the crate. In order to get to safety, you'll have to jump
back to the entrance of the room and make the jump to the other side.
The track deviates into an hourglass shape after the second jump. In this
part, slow down and look on the left side about halfway across to spot a
chest containing a [MEDALLION].
After jumping through the room with the giant stone hand on the floor, check
the rock work on the left side for a crate holding 4 acorns. Get back on
track and move ahead to the fourth jump section.
The fifth section sends you soaring over a fiery pit of danger. As you land
on the other side, slow down as you enter the next room and hop on the ledge
on your right - a [SLENDER PAGE] is stuck to the wall near the row of
tunnels.
The track takes you over a sixth, seventh, and finally an eighth long jump.
After the eighth and final jump, immediately stop and peer over the left edge
of the track. There is a narrow staircase leading down to a miniature
platform, and taking these stairs brings you to a [MEDALLION] in a crate.
The rail sequence ends shortly after this as you are dumped into a sloped
mine shaft. Continue your forward momentum and speed down the slope and right
up the half pipe to a ledge. Phew!
A crate holding a note and an acorn is on the right side of the access
platform amongst a slew of boxes. Proceed left and down the stairs, opening
the crate for 5 acorns and an [ENERGY UPGRADE]. Follow the pipeline to an
empty room and push the red button to open the fortified doors leading to the
Soma Reactor Core.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Retrieve the Lifeseed from within the reactor
First things first, go behind the giant reactor and head east to find a crate
along the perimeter and collect the [ENERGY UPGRADE] and acorn. Backtrack to
the entrance and take the stairs on the side. Double jump across the gap and
snag the [MEDALLION] from inside the chest after landing.
Go up the flight of stairs and leap across the broken part, then jump to the
platform at the very end of the path. Hit the button to open the reactor core
and extend a mechanical arm out to it. Use this to enter the core and claim
your prize.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Escape Soma Facility
The Lifeseed amplies your amrita powers, but taking it also powered down the
Soma Facility and sends the computer protocols into a tailspin. Face east and
jump down to the catwalk just as a set of double doors creaks open. Drop down
the hatch and take note of the eery purple figure floating in the room. It
speeds away down an access tunnel; give chase and endure the spooky sequences
en route to the level exit.
Drop down into the sewer and fend off the trio of amrita swarms. The Lifeseed
greatly increases your power, so one shot is all that's needed to pacify each
swarm. Follow the stairs and enter the vent to fall down into a large pipe.
Before exiting, spin around and pop open the crate for an [ENERGY UPGRADE].
Exit out into the open wilderness; a crate containing 2 acorns is found at
the bottom of the opening. Follow the trail.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way to shut down the destabilized Astra Facility
Go down the trail and swing across the two deadeye crates, then grab the
[MEDALLION] after landing. Swing across another pair to land in a ravine.
The wilderness slowly becomes more barren as you progress through the game
due to storyline purposes, so always be on the lookout for dead trees for
acorn opportunities. At the end of the ravine is a downed train along with a
crate - take the [ENERGY UPGRADE] inside and climb over the train car and up
the others.
As soon as you reach the top of the mountain, jump over the pile of boulders
on the right to discover a train track. Follow the tracks to the very end to
find a crate with an [ENERGY UPGRADE] inside. Return to the train cars and
head the other way instead.
At the entrance to the train loading dock building, the mysterious creature
shows itself... it's a wendigo! These mystical beings truly do exist, and
they are not friendly. A wendigo has essentially the same attack pattern and
mannerisms as green amrita swarms, so there isn't much variety. With your
Lifeseed equipped they take 3 hits to be killed, and often drop blue orbs
and/or acorns.
Kill the first wendigo, then the two that take its place, and go up the hill
on the left to the building. On the corner edge of the mill near the sign is
a crate with 3 energy refills. Go around back and leap over the fence for a
second crate holding a [MEDALLION].
Return to the front of the mill and jump across to the other side, then
deal with the wendigo near the staircase. Search behind the stairs for a
[MEDALLION] in the crate, then enter the train loading dock building.
Stay on the walkways and go down the boardwalk and down the chute. Don't use
Viper Coil here and instead free-fall to the ground. Explore the rows of
cargo containers on the right to find a [SLENDER PAGE] inside the open one.
Now jump across the river towards the camp.
A chest containing 2 acorns is under a tent to the left of the road; check it
out after dispatching the wendigo. Follow the road to Camp Henday.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Explore townsite for a way to reach the Astra Facility
Due to the Astra Facility sapping the life force from the camp and nearby
areas, you can put in extra work reviving the wildlife for more golden
acorns. There's a bit to explore here, but first clear the area of any
wendigos.
There is a crate under a tent next to some vehicles, near the first barrack,
with an [ENERGY UPGRADE] inside. Go behind the barracks and look for another
crate near a truck and a large tree, between the two barracks. Inside is a
[MEDALLION]. Facing the crate, turn and go between the two buildings and
under the support beams for a crate holding 3 acorns. You can also go inside
one of the barracks for several notes and a crate holding 2 energy refills.
Jump onto the roof with the storage cell on it, refill your energy, and open
the crate for a note and a [MEDALLION]. Follow the ramps up on the roof and
along the way pick up the 2 acorns from the chest. Once on the top, run off
the edge and double jump into the L.E.A.F. Armory.
There are two chests in the armory: one holds a note and the other an [ENERGY
UPGRADE]. Shoot the generator to open a door and continue through. Upstairs
is the anthropological studios. Along the with random relics, there are three
crates present: one with a note and an acorn, another with 3 acorns, and
another with [3 MEDALLIONS]. Exit into Virginia King's private office...
nothing of note in here, so follow the stairs to get up to the roof.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way to access tram tunnel
Head across the roof and down the support tower to the adjacent building.
There's nothing of worth down here aside from a note in a crate, so climb
the stairs and shoot the generator. Pass through the doorway.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Break through the cracked surface near the control tower
The ground beneath you is weak, so a high fall should do the trick. Enter the
control tower and deal with the amrita swarm, then make your way to the top.
Pick up the 3 energy refills, then jump off the edge through the floor.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Continue exploring townsite in search of tram access
After crashing through, look for a crate with a [MEDALLION], then enter the
side tunnel. This leads to a small prison where Virginia King and her main
squeeze (Edwin Hall) were held captive. Edwin's cell is on the first floor
and Virginia's cell is above. Going into Virginia's cell and interacting with
the music box unlocks the "Her Darkest Hour" Trophy.
Exit the cell block and shoot the generator to leave the prison. You spill
out into the archaeological dig site, but don't head that way just yet. Turn
right and jump over the fence towards the airfield. Enter the cabin near the
silo for a [MEDALLION] in the crate.
___________________________________________________________________________
Return to the pipes leading to the dig site and follow them towards the
runway. Destroy the roaming wendigos and run east towards the perimeter
fence. There's one crate with an [ENERGY UPGRADE] near the start of the fence
and another with a second [ENERGY UPGRADE] all the way at the end of the
runway near some rubble.
Go back to the dig site once more. Facing the giant rock face, check the
left side for a crate with a [MEDALLION]. Then loop all the way behind the
rock face to locate a crate containing another [MEDALLION]. Now go inside the
giant face sculpture and right through the mouth.
Shoot the generator to trigger a wave of wendigos. This special type can
phase in and out and can be tricky to track. After defeating them, an
explosion crates a pathway. Go through and claim the Magnetic Core upgrade
from the big crate.
You now have magnetic boots that allow you to traverse along special wall
surfaces. It's very simple: jump towards the surface to automatically connect
to it, and jumping while on the surface pulls you off. Run across the
magnetic wall to cross the stream. There's another magnetic wall on your left
and beyond the pit lies an acorn door. Use the strip to reach the door.
Run down the passage to a dead end containing [2 MEDALLIONS] and a shiny
[ENERGY CANISTER]. That's all there is here.
OBJECTIVE
> Explore the train loading dock building
Exit the acorn door and jump back on the magnetic wall. Run up the wall to
reach the top of the cave. Revive the pair of firefly trees to open the
wendigo door and pass through. Continue down the trail to end up on a cliff
overlooking the train loading dock building from earlier; use the magnetic
wall to return there and climb up on the magnetic strip along the front of
the building. Enter the top floor.
OBJECTIVE
> Find tram tunnel leading to the Astra Weapons Facility
A crate holding a note lies next to a magnetic strip. After landing, collect
the [2 MEDALLIONS] and run across the second magnetic wall. Pick up the 2
acorns and sprint through the silos to the next room. Destroy the wendigo and
look behind the magnetic wall for a crate holding a [MEDALLION]. Now go up
the wall and enter through the hole in the ground.
Defeat the amrita swarm, then go up the stairs. Sprint off the ramp and jump
onto the magnetic strip high along the side of the building. From here, go
to the end and drop down. Open the crate for 3 energy refills and go into the
next room.
Kill the two wendigos, then double jump onto the ledge to find a chest with
an [ENERGY UPGRADE]. Drop back down and go down the chute. Run along one more
magnetic wall, defeat the two wendigos, and jump down the hatch to finish the
level.
There are no collectibles in this section so you can enjoy your supersonic
sprint through the tunnel.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way to the Astra Weapons Facility
Enter the waterlogged tunnel and use the magnetic strips along the wall and
ceiling to get across to the other side. Remember that jumping negates the
use of your magnetic boots, so try to avoid doing so. After making it
outside, proceed down to the bomb field.
This crater-filled region is the location of countless bombings, so you can
use the craters to make for a fun trek across. Somewhere near the middle of
the field is a concrete cylinder; find it and open the crate on top of it
for 2 energy refills. Head west and up the hill towards an acorn door.
Acorn Door (Cost: 8)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This door must be opened in order to make it through the Proving Grounds.
On the other side is an area with several wendigos and a giant pit in the
middle. There are four total crates that can be tampered with after you take
out the enemies. The crates, in total, amount for 4 notes, an acorn, and
[2 MEDALLIONS]. For added entertainment, jump down into the pit to die and
unlock the "This. Is. VALLEY." Trophy.

Use the downed tree to reach the top of the archway and cross it to a
Pathfinder training area. When you reach the staircase leading to the
entrance, turn to the left and double jump onto the boulder. Look across
past the pit area to spot a wendigo door tucked away on an alcove - three
firefly trees surround the door on various elevations. Revive all three and
enter the door to find a crate holding a note, [MEDALLION], and [ENERGY
UPGRADE].

Return to the training area entrance. Up the stairs near the edge of the
cliff is a note inside a crate.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Navigate your way through the Pathfinder Training Forest

This giant forest is filled to the brim with deadeye crates, so you'll be
using your Viper Coil very frequently in order to scale the trees and reach
some normally-inaccessible areas.

Start by jumping off the edge to the ground. Slay all the wendigos down here
and run north to the water's edge. Look for a small campsite with some tents
and a trio of crates: inside the crates are 3 notes and an [ENERGY UPGRADE].
From this location, turn to the left and head directly west while keeping an
eye out for a very large tree up against the rock wall. There is a [SLENDER
PAGE] here on the trunk.

Go south back to the entrance and look for a slope on the left. Climb up the
slope and use the wooden boards to reach the top, where a crate lies. There
are 5 acorns and an [ENERGY UPGRADE] inside. Now start your journey through
the tangled mess of a forest.

Your current destination is the glowing obelisk to the north. This is one of
the highest points in the forest and serves as a good lookout/base camp.
Swing south back towards the entrance and look for another high platform (it
is centered around a tree equipped with a magnetic wall for easy ground-to-
sky transport). A storage cell lies here. From here, look northwest for an
acorn door on an alcove.

Acorn Door (Cost: 24)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The door opens to reveal the edge of a cliff. Take a leap of faith while
aiming for the island at the bottom. Pick up the [2 MEDALLIONS] off the
ground and open the two crates: one has a note and an [ENERGY UPGRADE], and
the other just a note. To get out, use the magnetic wall.
Return to the obelisk.
Swing east towards your destination, then head to the right as the path
deviates a bit (look for some ruins down on the ground). Land here and go
inside, kill the wendigo, and walk over to the pair of crates. One contains a
[MEDALLION] and an [ENERGY UPGRADE], the other one has 3 energy refills.
Exit through the archway opposite the crates and climb up the hill to a crate
containing an acorn and [ENERGY UPGRADE]. Defeat the amrita swarm hovering
above.
From the crate, stand behind it and look down for some circular platforms
connected to each other. Jump down and use the planks to get between each of
'em, then swing west to another trio of platforms. Open the crate here for a
[MEDALLION] and continue up towards the stone ledge underneath the second
obelisk. Pick up the [MEDALLION] from in the crate underneath the staircase
and climb the stairs to the obelisk.
The forest exit is almost in reach! Swing several more times south to the
final obelisk at the clearing, and using that momentum you must leap across
the chasm to the island in the distance.
OBJECTIVE
> Continue journey towards Astra
Run down the slope and off the ramp to a large clearing filled with several
overturned trucks as well as many nasty wendigos. When you get a moment, go
inside the circular stone structure and pop open the crate to obtain an
[ENERGY UPGRADE] and a [MEDALLION].
Sprint north up the stairs into the restricted area.
OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Get to the Astra Facility
You emerge in an overgrown, underground chamber. To begin, approach the
firefly tree in front of you and turn left to find an acorn door.
Acorn Door (Cost: 18)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Through the acorn door is a large crate with an [ENERGY CANISTER] inside.

Return to the firefly tree and give it some energy if you haven't already to
open the wendigo door atop the staircase. Follow the walkway to a second
wendigo door and shoot the firefly tree above it to open the path. Behind the
door reveals a third firefly tree: revive it to lower a wendigo door down on
the ground, near the southern side.

There is an amrita swarm patrolling the sloped room. Make sure to check the
crate on the left side of the room for a [MEDALLION], then sprint down the
ramp and jump through the waterfall at the end to exit out into the open
wilderness.

The Sussurian Pyramid lies at the end of the forest trail. This ancient
building is locked and can be opened by depositing enough medallions. Climb
the stairs to the door and double jump to the ledge above it. To the right is
a crate containing an acorn and a note. At the top of the pyramid are a pair
of crates, holding a note, and 3 acorns and a note. Behind the pyramid on the
ground level is yet another crate with 3 acorns inside.

If you have 30 medallions, you can open the main entrance to the Sussurian
Pyramid. Descend the stairs into the first chamber. A crate with a note is on
the left, but the main prize is the Viper Coil upgrade in the room's center.
With this, using the Viper Coil does not cost energy.

The second door costs 40 medallions, which you likely don't have at this
point in the game. Exit the pyramid.

L.E.A.F. Suit upgrade, then you'll unlock the "Final Form" Trophy. With
that, the Sussurian Pyramid is completed.
___________________________________________________________________________

Go north, ignoring the wendigos and sprint/swing over the water to Smoke
Lake. The Astra Facility takes a big hit out of the valley's life force again
so get to work restoring the wildlife. Continue down another hill and under
the arch onto a row of metal pipes.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way to get inside the Astra Facility

The Astra Facility is surrounded by the giant Smoke Lake, so traversing the
dangerous waters will lead to you finding an entrance. Go through another
archway to find a storage cell and two crates, each containing 2 energy
refills. Proceed up the metal walkway, killing the wendigos. There is another
crate here with 3 energy refills here, so you should be fully stocked up by
now.

Hop across the tops of the cylindrical tanks to the opposite end and drop off
the ledge into the small grove. Pry open the crate to obtain another L.E.A.F.
Suit upgrade: the Lake Skipper!

> With this upgrade, you can run onto water at low angles to skip across like
  a basilisk lizard. Your suit emits a series of beeps as you are on water,
  and the beeping speeds up when your time is almost up - you have around 6
  seconds when running on water before you sink.

  Your acceleration and speed increases when running on water, so even if you
  have little momentum you can still cross large bodies of water.

Go down the slope and run across the water to the first island, and keep that
momentum going across to the second island (don't worry if you stop, you do
not necessarily need that extra momentum). On the fourth island, stop and
check the stone wall on the left side to spot a crate. Grab the [ENERGY
UPGRADE] and 3 acorns inside, then go onward.

Keep skipping and sprinting until you reach an island with a giant stone hand
on it. Stop here and grab the [ENERGY UPGRADE] from the crate on the left
side of the road.

Continue to the following island and stop at the stone bridge. Turn left and
walk along the coastline around the giant boulders. Follow the coastline up
the hill to reach a crate with an [ENERGY UPGRADE] inside. Return to the
bridge and go across, then check behind the boulders on the left for yet
another crate... grab the [MEDALLION] and 5 acorns.

Water skip until you reach a large island with a campsite on the right side
of the road. Slay the wendigos populating the camp, then open the left crate
for 3 acorns and an [ENERGY UPGRADE] and the right crate for a [MEDALLION]
and a note. From the center of the campsite, face south/southwest and run
through the forest in search of a brown tree. There is a [SLENDER PAGE] on
the back of this tree.

Backtrack to the road and be on your way. Keep going until you reach a
crescent-shaped island. Look to the east - after one more small island, there
is a ramp leading up to a giant window on the side of the Astra Facility. The
goal is to gain enough speed to sprint up the ramp and smash through the
glass... but now is not the time for that. There are still some more
collectibles to find.

From the crescent island, look south/southwest to pinpoint another island in
the distance; run down the side of the island and water skip to that
location - you may have to jump at the end of your skip to get across.
Continue west to another island, then keep going southwest to a third
island.

Reaching the fourth island is the hardest part of this optional chain. The
island in question is to the east/southeast. This tall island is impossible
to reach in one sequence, but give it a go anyways.

Gain as much speed as possible before skipping and continue in a straight
line... as you get closer to the island, a sandbar in the middle of the water
reveals itself to give you a stepping stone to continue your sprint. Once at
the island, collect the items from the two crates: 3 acorns and an [ENERGY
UPGRADE], and 5 acorns and a [MEDALLION].

To get back to the main path, simply retrace your steps in the exact same way
as you did to reach this spot.

Aim for the ramp and skip across the water, and while on the ramp drop off to
the right instead of shattering the window... you wind up near the start of
Smoke Lake (where the title card appeared onscreen). Backtrack to the deadeye
crate and swing across back towards the Sussurian Pyramid.

After landing, walk up the slope a bit and then face northeast. Look across
the water to the diagonal pipes jutting out of the lake. Behind the leftmost
pipe is a small beach that you can skip to. Here lies a crate containing a
[MEDALLION] and [ENERGY UPGRADE].

Return to the ramp in front of the window, back up to one of the preceding
islands and dash through the window.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Venture further into the Astra Facility

Even though the Astra Facility title card appears, you haven't officially
completed the level. Go through the half-open door at the end of the room and
immediately hang a left, opening the crate for 3 acorns and an [ENERGY
UPGRADE]. Water skip through the sewer and up the pipe to finish the level.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way to shut down the destabilized Astra Facility

There are no collectibles in this level, so you can enjoy the walkthrough
stress-free.

Once you regain control, shoot the generator and pass through the doorway. Go
down the hallway into a large silo and take care of the two amrita swarms.
Exit the room and grab the 2 energy refills from the chest, then turn right
and use your Viper Coil to swing over to the magnetic wall. Walk sideways
onto the ledge to find another crate with 2 energy refills.

Exit into the upper walkway of the silo and double jump to the opposite side.
Eliminate the pair of wendigos and drop down the shaft, following the cavern
pathway. When the opening slopes down, run down the hill and across the pool
of water near the amrita swarm and then launch yourself over the upcoming
pit.

Continue forward past another pool of water, then follow the pipe and use
your Viper Coil to land on the magnetic wall. Take out the two amrita swarms
and walk up, then use the Viper Coil on the deadeye crate above you to reach
the catwalk. Collect the 2 energy refills from the crate before entering the
ventilation shaft.

Drop down into the office room and again enter the cave ahead. Slide down the
hill into the giant, orb-filled pit below. Welcome to the Feeding Ground.

After some intense rumbling, the Alpha floats down from the top of the
chamber. The mother of all wendigos, the Alpha is a powerful monster with
some deadly attacks.

The Alpha has a similar appearance and attack pattern to a regular wendigo,
but offers much more firepower. Its energy blasts come at an increased
number and its overall movement is much faster.

When it has taken enough damage, the Alpha will raise a shield and teleport
to the center of the room, where is slams on the ground to create shockwaves.
These shockwaves initially emanate from the ground in a typical ring, but
later waves have diverse patterns that force you to weave and jump to stay
out of harm's way.

Despite its menacing appearance, you should treat the Alpha not much
differently than a normal wendigo. Pummel it with amrita as is closes in on
you until it retreats and sends out shockwaves, during which you can run
through the cluster of blue orbs. Of course, orbs regenerate over time, but
if you are in a bind during the cooldown period you can always drain the
life force from the countless vines entangling the walls.

Once it has received enough punishment, the Alpha sends out one final swan
song by unleashing a series of intricate shockwaves from the top of the
Feeding Ground. Dodge these to survive the encounter.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Find a way out of the cave

There is a deadeye crate on the northeast side of the Feeding Ground. Look
up and use your Viper Coil to swing to freedom.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Continue search for way to shut down Astra

Pass through the bomb room and up the stairs, falling through the hole in the
floor at the top. Use the storage cell here if needed, then shoot the
generator at the top of the staircase. The quantum research lab ahead
features some backstory on the daemons inhabiting the valley. There is also
a crate here containing 2 energy refills. When you are ready to leave, hit
the generator at the far end.

Follow the series of hallways to the Thanatos prototype and open the hatch
doors.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Create a feedback loop between Astra and Soma using Thanatos

Place the Lifeseed in the terminal and stand next to the cannon as you are
transported to Astra's roof.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Fire Thanatos towards the Soma energy reservoirs

Enter the Thanatos cannon's cockpit. Rotate the cannon to the right and fire
when aiming at Soma's energy towers in the distance. The feedback loop will
subsequently overload and destroy both Soma and Astra.

OBJECTIVE
_____________________________________________________________________________
> Escape facility before total meltdown

The following sequence is straightforward and virtually impossible to get
lost/turned around. You will have to go through the many hallways and rooms
of the Astra Facility while using your L.E.A.F. Suit upgrades (mainly your
Viper Coil). During the escape you will be treated to some audio logs and
notes revealing the fate of Andrew Fisher.

One thing to keep in mind: now that the Lifeseed is no longer in your
possession it takes more hits to defeat the enemies wandering the Astra
Facility!

The final portion involves you sprinting down a pipe to a lake outside. Jump
and plummet into the water to begin the ending cinema.

> Congrats on beating Valley! Following the end credits, you can revisit
  previous levels to mop up any missing collectibles or items.

MEDALLIONS                                                             [0402]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Medallions seem like useless trinkets at first, but become important during
the late stages of the game. The Sussurian Pyramid, located in Smoke Lake, is
an ancient pyramid that contains valuable suit upgrades. Alas, the only way to
gain access to the structure is by collecting enough medallions.
Revive 100 trees.
> You should get this Trophy the old-fashioned way pretty early in the game
   are looking for a shortcut, kill and revive the same tree enough times to
   unlock the Trophy.
Who's the Alpha Now?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Final Form

   three optional ones that are required for this Trophy: the Raptor L.E.A.F.
   Suit (found in Wendigo Lake), the Viper Coil upgrade, and the Icarus Boost
   upgrade (both found in the Sussurian Pyramid). Visit the walkthrough for
   more details.

Full Power
~~~~~~~~~~
Collect all energy upgrades.
> There are 60 total energy upgrades and 7 total energy canisters in the
   game. The Trophy unlocks when you have maxed out on energy canisters (two
   full rows on the HUD). View the walkthrough and Section 4 for more
   details.
Immortality
~~~~~~~~~~~
Complete game without the valley dying.
> Every time your character dies, it saps life away from the valley (its
   life is represented by the leaves on your HUD). You can in turn restore
   life to the valley by reviving plants and animals. This is an easy Trophy
   despite its description: basically don't die 4-5 times in a row and you
   should be fine.

Relic Collector
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Collect enough medallions to access all pyramid chambers.
> The game features 80 total medallions, but you only need a total of 70 to
   open both doors in the Sussurian Pyramid. Visit Section 4 for more
   details.
Spelunker
~~~~~~~~~
Gain entry through all the acorn doors.
> There are 10 acorn doors in the game - 3 of them are required to progress
   through the game and the other 7 are optional. Acorn doors are opened by
   using golden acorns, which are found in crates and by reviving dead trees.
   The amount of acorns needed varies for each door, but the total comes out
