5. Official Downloadable Objects
==========================
There are objects that are available for download at the official The Sims
Site (www.thesims.com). Create a user name by signing up. Then go to "Get Cool
Stuff" and you can download objects from there. Every Thursday a new object,
program, contest, or other event is created. The following are the objects that
have been created. These downloads require House Party to play.
--------------------------
5.1 Objects Pack 1

6. Create Your Own Objects
==========================
One of my favorite things about this game is you can create your own
objects, wall, floors, roofs, skins, and pictures. The greatest thing
about it, is you can create your own objects very easily. Below is a
complete description of how to create your own objects. These guides
are a complete walk-through, they should just get you started.
--------------------------
6.1 Objects
--------------------------
This is probably the best thing that you can create. You can create
an object that you can possibly imagine. There are two programs that
you can use to create the objects. Transmogrifier is the first program
that you can use. (Download it at:
http://www.lushcreations.com/TransmogrifierDocumentation.htm). The
second program that can be downloaded it Blue Print. Blueprint is
similar to Transmogrifier, it is still a work in progress but it looks
great. (Download it at
http://www.simfreaks.com/blueprint/software.html). Both sites have
complete instructions on how to make objects. The Transmogrifier site
has a great Tutorial, that i suggest you use to make your first object.
Once you make your first object, making new objects is simple.
--------------------------
6.2 Skins
--------------------------
Ever wanted to have a specific skin for a story? Ever wanted to
create a famous celebrity? You can!
In windows explorer, look in the director that you installed The
Sims (Default is C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims) then go to \GameData
then to \Skins (The default path is: C:\Program Files\Maxis\The
Sims\GameData\Skins). The names are sorted by the following codes:
Gender M=Male F=Female
Age A=Adult C=Child
Size Fit=Average Size Skn=Skinny Fat=The Largest
Skin Color lgt=Light drk=Dark med=Medium
Example: B001MAFitlgt_Romeo
The skin is Male, Adult, Fit, Light
If there is a particular skin that you want to change, find it,
double-click it, and paint will open up. Do what ever changes that you
want to the skin. Then choose SAVE AS under file. Save it as a new
name in the same file as you open it from. When you load up the game,
and create a family, the new skin should be in the right place.
--------------------------
6.3 Roofs
--------------------------
Making a roof is similar to how you made the skin.
1. Open up Windows Explorer
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Roofs (or what ever
file you saved it in.
3. Open one of the files (For example, r1_)
4. In paint change the colors to what ever you please.
5. Then go to SAVE AS under file.
6. Save it in the same directory as the other roofs.
7. Title it r5_ or r6_ or then nest number.
8. When you go to build mode in The Sims, then roofs, the new file
will be there.
--------------------------
6.4 Floors/Walls
--------------------------
To make Floors or Walls download Home Crafter from www.thesims.com.
It is in the "Get Cool Stuff" and then under "Make Cool Stuff." There
are instructions on how to make objects in the download.
--------------------------
6.5 Pictures
--------------------------
To make pictures download The Sims Art Studio from www.thesims.com.
Then go to "Get Cool Stuff", and then to "Make Cool Stuff."
Instructions on how to make pictures are in the download.
