-I.------------------------ INTRODUCTION ----------------------------
=======================================================================

This guide is a complete walkthrough for the VGA version of the game
Space Quest I.  Just so we don't start off in a state of confusion,
this is NOT the original Space Quest 1 (EGA version). This is a
completely different version, with improved graphics and different game
objectives. This guide will probably not help you with the original
version, but it will tell you everything you need to know about the VGA
version.

If you're looking for help with the copy protection, you better keep
looking. I can't legally tell you that, because then I would be feeding
the monster of software piracy. I CAN NOT and WILL NOT give you any of
the copy protection that is written in the game manual, sorry.

In this game you play as Roger Wilco, the janitor of the Starship
Arcada. Your goal is to save yourself and maybe the rest of the world
from the Sariens. When you follow this walkthrough, you have to do each
instruction I give, and in the order I give them.

Remember this as you read the walkthrough itself. All the words in
parenthesis () are not commands, but just what you should see on screen
or things you have just done. Everything not in parenthesis is a
command, and is something you must do.

=======================================================================
-II.---------------------- THE STORY SO FAR -------------------------
=======================================================================

*This little is story is courtesy of the game's instruction manual,
just so it's clear that these are not my lame jokes...

Light-years from this solar system exists a galaxy known as Earnon.
Though the inhabitants of this galaxy have lived in peace and
prosperity for many decades, events have been observed recently which
indicate that life won't be so rosy in the future. The galactic
government has become corrupt and unresponsive. Young Earnonians have
grown rebellious and hostile. Lunatics and sub-Delta morons have taken
control of the TV networks (actually, this happened centuries ago, but
nobody noticed until just recently). Worst of all the sun, on which the
earthlike planet Xenon relies for the building blocks of life, is
dying. Xenon's very basics of life are threatened. Xenon scientists
predict that only certain insect species and most human resource
professionals will survive the resulting ice age.

So with what amounted to a do-or-die dilemma, the most talented minds
of the planet went to work. The result was a radical design for
something called the Star Generator (not to be confused with the
William Morris Agency), a device capable of turning a lifeless planet
into a raging ball of fire. Or the other way around. Nobody was quite
sure, since it had never actually been tested.

The development team for the Star Generator project was stationed
aboard the spacelab Arcada and sent to the outer edge of Earnon to
further its research. Here's where you come in. You serve as a member
of the crew of the Arcada...as a janitor. That's right, a janitor - and
not a very good one. You'd certainly have been sacked and replaced were
the Arcada not millions of kilometers from Xenon. Anyway, after months
of development and testing, the mission has been completed. Although
still in the experimental stages, the Star Generator appears to be
fully operational. The good news is flashed back to Xenon as the crew
of the Arcada prepares for the trip home.

But the news does not travel far before it reaches unintended ears.
Monitoring the Arcada's transmissions are Sariens, space thugs who
cruise the galaxies wreaking havoc by exposing aerosol cans to open
flame or fire. The Sarien's immediate intent it to capture the Star
Generator and bring it aboard their battle cruiser Deltaur. With the
Star Generator in their possession, the Sariens would have the ultimate
weapon with which to terrorize the universe and gain sweet revenge
against a civilization which ostracized them so long ago. They'd also
get invited to better parties.

As your adventure begins, you are currently conduction one of your
famous on-shift naps in the janitorial storage closet. You arise
slightly annoyed at the commotion which has awakened you so rudely.
This does not amuse you as you had just drifted off to sleep. The alarm
system is activated, indicating that the Arcada is under attack.

When the commotion dies down you take a look outside. Your eyes fall
upon a grisly sight. Several of our fellow crew members' bodies lie
strewn about the ship, their posture indicating a total unwillingness
to get up and keep living.

Although you aren't used to doing a lot of thinking, your brain cells
kick into high gear. What a mess! How am gonna get those bloodstains
off the floor? In the midst of this immensely deep thought (well, deep
for YOU) you are startled into serious reality when you hear a laser
blast followed quite closely by a sickening scream. You briefly
consider taking another nap, but it finally occurs to you that YOU
might be in danger as well. This will never do.

=======================================================================
-III.----------------------- THE CONTROLS ---------------------------
=======================================================================

Unlike the original version, you will not type in commands. Instead you
will use an icon and cursor system.

There are ten icons that you can use by pulling the cursor to the very
top of the screen. Reading them from left to right, they go in this
order...

=-Walk-=
This icon tells you character where to walk. Clicking it on doors makes
you walk into that door. To move to a new screen, drag it as far to one
side as possible, and click. This icon looks like a stickman walking.

=-Look-=
Use this icon to ask the game what an object looks like. Just click it
on an object, and a gray text box will appear that gives you any
available information on the object you just clicked on. This icon
looks like an open eye.

=-Touch-=
This icon allows you to use an object, like a door or button. Just
click it on whatever object you want to manipulate. This is how you
will pick most objects up. This icon looks like a right hand.

=-Talk-=
This icon is how you speak to people. Just click it on whoever, or
whatever, you want to communicate with. This icon looks like a profile
of Roger with a small speech bubble.

=-Smell-=
This icon allows you to smell areas or objects. Just click on whoever,
or whatever, you want to smell. This icon looks like a nose.

=-Taste-=
This icon allows you to taste objects. Just click on whatever it is you
feel you need to taste. This icon looks like a tongue.

=-Current Item-=
This icon is how you use an item. In it is whatever the last item you
used was. Just click it on whoever, or whatever, you want to use the
item on. Naturally, it looks like whatever item you used last.

=-Inventory-=
This is how you look at your items, open items, choose items, or use
items on other items. This icon looks like a small bag or purse.

=-Control Panel-=
This icon lets you control how the game actually runs. From here you
can save, restore, restart, quit, read some quick credits, go back to
the game, change the detail in the graphics, change the volume, change
the game speed, and see your current score. This icon looks like a
switch panel.

=-Help-=
This doesn't have much use, it just tells you what all the other icons
do. It looks like a question mark.

After you click on each icon (excluding inventory, control panel, and
help) your cursor becomes that icon. This is how you will move,
interact with characters, and use objects.

-IV.---------------------- THE WALKTHROUGH --------------------------
=======================================================================

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
1. Aboard the Spaceship Arcada
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
(This level begins with Roger Wilco, you, stumbling out of a broom
closet. Right now, all you have is 3 buckazoids (alien currency) in
your inventory. The screen will shake a lot, as the ship is preparing
for self-destruction. The clock on the corner of the screen is counting
down how much time you have left to escape the Arcada. If the clock
runs down to zero, you'll gonna be going down with the ship. Lucky for
you, I know the way out)

Move three screens left.

Use the hand cursor on the dead body you find there to search his body.

(You just got the electronic key-card)

Go right one screen.

Quickly get in the elevator to avoid the aliens. These guys are armed
and will blow a large hole in you if you get too close. You are now on
the bottom floor.

When the guards are off screen, get back in the elevator. Now you're on
the top floor again.

Go right one screen.

Wait a few seconds, and a very badly hurt man will walk in.

Walk up to the man and click the talk cursor on him to hear his dying
words.

(The old man will look over at the cartridges behind you and say
"stars", then he'll die)

Click the hand cursor on the computer in the upper-middle area of the
screen.

(You are now sitting at the computer console)

Click the hand cursor on the big, green, cracked screen you see right
in front of you.

(Here is where you type in the code to retrieve the cartridge you need)

Use the hand cursor to type in the code sequence and then press the
"ENTER" button on the keypad. It is the code for the topic "stars" and
is found in the copy-protection section of the game manual. For legal
reasons, I can't give you the code in this guide.

(The gray robot will retrieve the "stars" cartridge for you)

As soon as the robot returns, use the hand cursor to take the small
green box from the hands of the robot.

(When you take the cartridge, you automatically stand up)

Go right one screen.

Walk into the closet to hide from the approaching guards.

Go right one screen.

Get into the red elevator.

Go right one screen.

Walk into the dark room at the top of the hallway you are now in.

(In the middle of the room, you should see an object with a small
flashing light in the middle of the room)

Use the hand cursor to pick up the small object.

(You just picked up the widget)

Walk out of this room the same way you came in.

Go right two screens.

Get in the yellow and black striped elevator. Hurry up, or the guards
will catch you.

Click on the options box, and turn the game speed all the way up. This
will make it easier to get past the next two guards. Yeah, I guess it
is kind of cheating, oh well.

Walk off the lower right section of the screen.

Go right one screen.

Change the game speed back to normal, it's already served its purpose.

Click the look cursor on the two small orange buttons on the upper left
area of the screen.

Use the hand cursor to press the "OPEN" button.

(You just opened up the bay doors)

Take the keycard out of your inventory, and use it on the elevator
door.

(The door will unlock, and you'll walk right in)

Use the hand cursor on the small brown slot that is on the large orange
cabinet on the left area of the screen.

(You just got the gadget)

Use the hand cursor to open the tall white door that is right next to
the orange cabinet.

Use the hand cursor on the spacesuit you find behind the white door.

(You will put on the spacesuit and helmet)

Walk over to the door in the upper-right area of the screen.

Use the hand cursor on the button that sits on the small panel right
next to the door.

(The door will open, and you will walk right in)

Carefully walk up to the spaceship you see in front of you. This is
your escape pod.

Use the hand cursor on the doorway to the escape pod to climb inside
it.

(You are now sitting down in the escape pod)

Look at the light-red rectangle directly in front of your helmet.

(You will know have a closer look at the small control panel)

Use the hand cursor to press the button on the far right of the small
control panel. This is the button that says power.

Use the hand cursor on the belt buckle that is hanging behind and to
the left of your helmet. Safety first!

Use the hand cursor on the black throttle that sits on the console in
front of you.

(You will fly away from the ship Arcada and then the view will change
back to you sitting in the cockpit)

Use the hand cursor on the light-red rectangle that sits in front of
your helmet.

Press the button on the far left of the small control panel you just
brought up. This is the button that says auto-nav.

(You have turned on the auto-nav, so now the navigational computer will
take you to the nearest planet. Congratulations you have escaped the
Starship Arcada, and have landed on the desert planet of Kerona)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
2. The Planet of Kerona
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
(Now you find yourself sitting in the cockpit of your once great escape
pod. All of the controls are damaged beyond repair, and the windshield
is shattered into a million pieces. It looks like its first space
voyage was also its last. Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust, we just
have to move on with our lives.)
Click the hand cursor on the seatbelt.
(You'll remove the seatbelt, and climb out of the escape pod)
Click the hand cursor on the small gray object that sits just in front
of the escape pod.
(You just picked up a piece of highly reflective glass)
Click the hand cursor on the small brown box that sits in the doorway
to the escape pod.
(You just picked up the survival kit)
Go into your inventory and use the hand cursor on the survival kit.
(You just found a pocketknife and a can of dehydrated water. Anytime a
gray text box appears saying that you are thirsty, you should use the
canister of water on yourself as soon as possible)
Turn the game speed as high up as it will go, so the metal spider won't
catch you.
Go down one screen.
Walk off of the screen near the lower right corner.
Go up one screen.
Use the hand cursor on the purple blob that rests against the rocks in
the middle of the screen
(You just picked up the picked up the gooey plant)
(Right after you pick that up, the metal spider will land near you.
This spider is filled with explosives, and will go off as soon as it
gets near you. So avoid it at any cost)
Go right two screens.
Walk up the spinal column that creates a ramp up from the sand. This
spine column only leads one way, so just follow the path.
When you reach the end, you should walk straight to the rock column
that is decorated with a metal plaque.
(You will fall down a long green chute and reappear in a dark, damp
cavern)
Click the hand cursor on the rock with the purple ring around it that
sits near the middle of the screen.
(You just picked up a pointed rock)
Change the game speed back to normal.
Go left one screen.
Click the purple gooey plant on the green grate at the lower left
corner of the screen.
(The monster will get his tentacles stuck in an attempt to eat the
plant, granting you safe passage to the next room)
Go left one screen.
Take the pointy rock out of your inventory.
Click the pointy rock on the steaming mini-volcano that sits right next
to the purple door.
Walk through the door you just opened.
Go left one screen.
Walk up to, but not into, the laser field.
Take the piece of glass out of your inventory.
Click the glass in the laser field.
(The glass reflects the lasers back at their source, and destroys both
of the laser generators)
Walk up the stone ramp on the left side of the screen.
Go right one screen.
Avoid the drops of acid by staying as close to the bottom rock barrier
as possible.
Go right one screen.
Go into the inventory, and use the hand cursor on the gadget to turn it
on.
(This gadget acts as a translator, so you can understand the alien you
will meet in the next room)
Go right one screen.
(Now you find yourself in a dark room with a large sinister looking
head. Just listen to what he has to say. Your mission is to kill the
Orat, and bring back some evidence you got the job done. With your
mission clearly laid out, you tumble out of the cave and back to the
sandy surface)
Turn the game speed all the way up.
Go up one screen.
Go right two screens.
Go down one screen.
Walk right into the large skull you see in the middle of the screen.
(You can see a large monster in the upper-right area of the screen)
Take the water canister out of your inventory.
Click the water canister on the monster.
(You throw the canister at him, and he swallows it. The canister is
pressurized, it he causes a massive explosion inside his stomach. Now
he's dead)
Use the hand cursor on the small object that now sits where the monster
once stood.
(You just picked up the proof you need)
(Since you just wasted all of you water, you need to get back in the
cave as soon as possible. You can die of dehydration in no time at all)
Go down one screen.
Walk up the spine all the way back to the trap door, just like you did
before.
Go up through the cave, heading back to the room with the big head.
Your only danger this time is the drops of acid that still fall from
the ceiling.
When you make it back to the big dark room, the big head will ask for
the proof.
Take the Orat piece out of your inventory.
Click the Orat piece on the area right in front of big guy's face.
(A door opens, revealing the true nature of the sinister being. It is
nothing more than an allusion, created by a race of friendly aliens
trying to protect themselves. In the middle of this room, you see a
computer screen and console. To the right of that, is the sand skimmer
you were promised)
Take the "stars" cartridge out of your inventory.
Click the cartridge on the computer console, and you will receive the
following very important message.
_____________________________________________________________________
Whoever shall read this: My name is Dr. Slash Vohaul, I am a
scientist with The Star Generator Project aboard the Starlab Arcada.
We have just successfully completed development an testing of the
Star Generator. During this time I have come to believe that our
progress has been monitored by others. I fear that the Sariens may
have learned of our mission.
If my fears prove true, The Star Generator and the people of our
universe are in serious jeopardy. The Star Generator is a miraculous
device. Used as intended, it will help preserve life for eons to
come. Used as a device of evil, it would cause the destruction of
millions of lives and enslave all who oppose the Sariens.
Encoded within this cartridge are all the plans and specifications
for the Star Generator. Should any disaster befall the Star
Generator, scientists would be able to create a duplicate of the
Star Generator with this information.
Please guard it with your life and return it to the Xenon ruling
body as quickly as possible.
Important Note:
The Star Generator is capable of self-destruction. This was
introduced to the system as a precaution. To activate it one must
enter the code 3885.
A five-minute time will begin to count down. Beware, anyone within
5 kilometers of the Star Generator will be in danger once the timer
has been initiated. Please be careful and GOOD LUCK!
_____________________________________________________________________
Use the hand cursor on the green area of the computer console to
retrieve your cartridge.
Walk toward the blue ship, this is the sand skimmer.
Use the hand cursor on the light-blue railing that leads up to the sand
skimmer.
(You will speed away from this room and you'll be given to options. You
can A. play a little game where you try to avoid rocks in your skimmer,
or B. just skip the whole sequence and go straight to your destination.
Trying to avoid the rocks really isn't much fun, or difficult, so I
would just go ahead and skip it.)
3. The Settlement on the Ulence Flats
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
(You pull up in your sand skimmer right outside a place called the
"Rocket Bar". A laser field that only allows aircraft to exit surrounds
this area. It looks like you need a new ship, and fast. The first being
you see is a purple alien dressed as a 1930's gangster. He leans up
against the bar, casually checking out his surroundings. He takes
notice of you as soon as you pull up)
(He will walk up to you, and offer you 25 buckazoids for you jetpack.
Refuse his offer by choosing "No way" as your response to his question.
(He'll stroll away in disappointment, then walk right back up to you
with a new offer. Now he says he'll give you his jetpack, 35
buckazoids, and a couple of coupons. This is the best offer you're
gonna get, so take it.)
Choose "Yes, it's a deal" as your response to his question.
(You just got the jetpack, a coupon for 20% off of a purchase at
"Droids B Us", and a coupon for 5 buckazoids and a free beer at the
"Rocket Bar".
Walk into the Rocket Bar.
(On the right-middle area of the screen, you see a small blue alien
playing a blue slot machine. Wait for the alien to be killed by the
laser. It shouldn't take to long.)
Walk to the yellow circle directly in front of the blue slot machine.
Take the widget out of your inventory.
Click the widget on the slot machine.
(The magnet inside the widget gives you a jackpot every time, because
it sets the wheels in the perfect order.)
Click the hand cursor on the slot machine.
Move the cursor over the down pointing triangle on the left side of the
machine and click it three times to insert three buckazoids.
Move the cursor over the red circle that reads "let em' roll" to spin
the wheels.
Keep playing the machine to keep increasing your wealth, but don't let
your money exceed 299 buckazoids. If you do, you'll overload and
destroy the machine.
Exit the slot machine.
Walk over to the bar.
Order three beers.
Use the coupon for one of them.
(As you throw down the third beer, you will overhear a conversation
between the people next to you. You will hear them say that the Star
Generator is sector EE.)
Walk out of the bar.
(As soon as you step out, you will run into a red alien. He offers to
show you a possible mode of transportation. DON'T follow him, he is
really just trying to mug you.)
Go up one screen.
Go left one screen.
Go down one screen.
Click the "EXIT" button to leave the slot machine.
Walk out of the bar.
(You'll run into the red alien again, so just ignore him like last
time.)
Go up one screen.
Go right one screen.
Go down one screen.
Click the hand cursor on the small pile of gray dust you see just below
the window of the bar.
(You'll find a few buckazoids.)
Click the hand cursor on the pile of dust again.
(You'll find some more buckazoids)
Go up one screen.
Walk into the "Droids B Us" building.
(You'll se a large praying mantis on your right, and a green viewing
screen on your left.)
Take the buckazoids out of your inventory.
When you see a small robot appear on the screen with the title
"NAV-201", click the buckazoids on the mantis.
(You just bought the droid. You'll walk outside the store to the left-
side entrance, so you can retrieve your recent purchase.)
Go left one screen.
(The small brown droid will follow you.)
Click the hand cursor on the ladder that leads to your new ship.
(You'll climb into your ship, the robot takes his place and you press
the "LOAD" button. You will see a quick movie of yourself blasting off
of the planet.)
(The droid will ask you for a set of coordinates. You want to go to
sector EE, so look in the game's instruction manual for the correct
navigational code.)
Use the hand cursor to type the 4-digit number.
Click the "ENTER" button.
(You shoot off into light-speed in a explosion of bright colors and the
theme song played as fanfare. Congratulations, you have successfully
made it out of the dangerous Ulence Flats. You're one step closer to
reaching the Star Generator.)
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
4. Attack on the Sarien Battle Cruiser
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
(You exit your colorful little journey through the galaxy with a large,
green, mantis-shaped spaceship in view. Your navigational droid
identifies it as a Sarien Battle Cruiser. Inside this massive
spacecraft is the Star Generator and the alien race that has stolen it.
You have to stop them from using it as the ultimate weapon, anyway you
can!)
(The droid asks you if he should turn the ship around and run away.)
Respond to his question by clicking "No".
(You exit the ship, using your jetpack to guide you to the main doors
of the vessel.)
Click the hand cursor on the little orange handle that is on the panel
to the left of the large door.
(The door will open, and you'll coast right in.)
(You'll land with a thud, and throw off your now smoking jetpack. In
this room you see a large door, covered by a thick piece of curved
steel.)
Walk over to the right side of the door.
(A small cleaning robot will enter the room from the door you are now
standing right next to.)
When the robot has his back to you, walk through the door that just
opened.
Use the hand cursor on the red trunk in the center of the room.
(You will slide the trunk across the floor to the left wall, just
underneath the vent.)
Take the Xenon knife out of you inventory.
Click the knife on the metal grate at the end of the large purple spout
that extends out of the right wall.
(You're now in the ventilation system)
Click the hand cursor on the black ladder in front of you.
Climb up the ladder to the upper tube and walk through the black hole
you see up there.
Walk to the black ladder in the middle of the screen.
Climb up to the middle tube.
Walk over as close as possible to the metal grate.
Use the hand cursor on the metal grate.
(You'll kick out the grate and crawl out of the ventilation system.)
Click the hand cursor on the handle to the washing machine, which is
the large purple box with the glass door.
Click the hand cursor on the red object you can now see inside the
large washing machine.
(You'll climb into the washing machine.)
(A Sarien officer will walk in, undress, and throw his clothes in the
washing machine. He turns it on. The machine spins for a while, and
when it stops, you are wearing the officer's uniform and helmet.)
(The good news is you have a disguise, the bad news is you lost almost
all of the items you had when you got in. All you have left is the data
cartridge.)
Take a couple of steps away from the washing machine.
Use the hand cursor on the small re object on the floor near the door
to the machine.
(You just picked up the officer's identification card.)
Go right one screen.
Get into the elevator on the left.
Go left one screen.
Get in the elevator across this room.
it.
(The robot will walk back it and hand you a laser pistol.)
Go left one screen.
Walk to the middle of the catwalk.
Stand directly over the large Sarien guard you see below you.
Click the grenade on the guard below.
(The guard falls down, knocked unconscious from the gas grenade.)
Go left one screen.
Take the pistol out of your inventory.
Go left one screen.
Walk over near the elevator.
(On the way there, you'll trip and drop your helmet. A cleaning robot
will roll by and take it to the garbage. Now your disguise is gone, and
you will be shot by every Sarien guard who sees you. So you have to
shoot every guard that you see, before they shoot you.)
Get in the elevator.
Go right two screens.
Click the hand cursor on the unconscious guard.
(You just got his belt, which controls the force field that guards the
Star Generator.)
Take the belt out of your inventory.
Click the belt on the small flashing panel just below the Star
Generator.
(You just turned off the protective force field that was surrounding
the Star Generator.)
Click the hand cursor on the small flashing panel.
(You now see a close up view of the panel.)
Click 3385.
Click the "ENTER" button.
(You just activated the self-destruct sequence for the Star Generator.
You now have 5 minutes to escape. That time limit is shown to you on a
small clock display that appears in the corner of the screen.)
Go left one screen.
Take your gun out of your inventory.
Get in the elevator.
Shoot the guard directly that stands directly on your right.
Get in the elevator the guard was protecting.
Click the hand cursor on the escape shuttle you see in the lower-middle
area of the screen.
(K-A-B-O-O-M. Congratulations, you have just escaped the Sarien ship.
You saved your own ass, and more importantly the entire galaxy, from
the threat of Sarien aggression.
-V.----------------------- EASTER EGG LIST --------------------------
=======================================================================
Here are a few little amusing things you might have missed:
1.The Blues Brothers can be seen playing in the "Rocket Bar"
2.Written in graffiti on the side of the wall is "C+CC". This is a
programming term.
3.Just after you lift off from the Ulence Flats, you catch a glimpse of
the time machine you pilot in the game Space Quest IV.
4.The used spaceship salesman on the Ulence Flats mentions a spaceship
making many flights to a planet called "Phleebut". You will visit this
planet in Space Quest III.
5.The "Droids B Us" store sounds like "Toys R Us", and the two stores
also share a similar mascot, a giraffe.
6.When you look at the green alien standing at the bar in the "Rocket
Bar", it says "I must be dizzy, I'm seeing triple". If you look closely
at the green alien, she has 3 breasts. Also, this alien makes an
appearance at your victory ceremony.
7.In the armory of the Sarien Battle Cruiser, there is a tall, lanky
robot that retrieves weapons. This model of robot can been seen in
"Droids B Us".
8.The robot who stands at the side entrance to "Droids B Us" looks
exactly like the robot in the TV show "Lost in Space"
9.The doctor on the data cartridge, Dr Slash Vohaul, shares a similar
name to the evil leader of the Sarien, Sludge Vohaul.
10.One of the rooms in the Arcada contains machines that look just like
an extremely large mouse and joystick.
11.Near the entrance to the Rocket Bar there is a tall green rocket
ship. If you look at it, it says it appears to be from the "twenty-
fourth-and-a-half-century". This is a line from a series of Daffy Duck
cartoons called "Duck Dodgers".
12.Right after you get the Sarien uniform out of the washing machine,
you enter a room with two elevators side-by-side. Right above the
doorway you just entered is a large purple decoration. If you click the
tongue cursor on it, you will see a woman run quickly across the
screen. This woman is one of the "latex babes" from Space Quest IV.
13.The three breasted woman standing in the bar is a reference to the
book "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
14.The man that the awards you the golden mop is Kink Graham, from the
King's Quest series.
15.If you click the look cursor on the background of the Ulence Flats,
it mentions "YoMammy National Park"
16.Just after you lift off from the flats; you have to enter the
coordinates to the Star Generator. If you enter the wrong coordinates
three times, you will be destroyed by a "Warbird", which is a ship from
"Star Trek".
17.When you go talk to the large head on Kerona, you will hear some of
the theme song from the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey".
-IX.-------------------- HISTORY OF THIS FAQ ------------------------
=======================================================================
12/14/02: I've been familiar with this game for a while now, and I
realized its needs a good FAQ. So I decided to write one.
12/15/02: It took me all day, but I finally got it done. It looks like
one of my better guides. I call this version 1.0
12/17/02: I added a few things to section e and I changed the format
just a little bit. I think it looks nicer this way. I call this version
1.1
12/20/02: I just changed the format a little. I call this FAQ version
1.2
12/21/02: Yet another format change. This is now FAQ version 1.3
12/26/02: Fixed a couple of mistakes and laid the foundation for a new
section. I call this FAQ version 1.35
12/30/02: I gave this guide a new table of contents. Sadly, I don't yet
have the points list done. I'm going to leave this as FAQ version 1.35
1/20/03: With advice from "phoenix 1911", I changed the format again.
This is still FAQ version 1.35
2/28/03: I added some nice ASCII art at the top. Enjoy!
5/6/2003: I cleaned up this guide a little, as well as adding my
writing signature to the bottom. I'm still gonna call this one FAQ
version 1.35
6/12/2003: The website IGN can now host this document.
