In order to make life easier, use the Search Option and type in
the corresponding number to quickly move to that area.
For example: Search for 2 to quickly navigate to the Main Menu
Section.
1) About
Sengoku Hime 3: Tenka o Kirisaku Hikari to Kage is a war strategy game
with Eroge elements. If you are under 18, I advise you to not play this
since the eechi scenes come without warning, and can not be skipped
when you first see them.
2) Main Menu
This is a rough translation of the important parts of the main menu.
The first option is to begin a new game
-> It will bring you to a menu with a map with all of the different
factions you could be. Pick a faction and another choice appears.
-->The left choice is to play the game in Easy Mode.
-->The right choice is to play the game in Hard Mode.
The second option is to load the game from a save point.
3) Phases of the Game
The game is separated into 5 phases while you are on the map menu.
--> After the mid-long intro when you had picked your faction,
you may skip the dialogue by pressing the first small symbol
on top of the dialogue bar, however that option is only
available after you had seen the dialogue at least once.
You would be sent to the Map Menu.
The Map menu is self explanatory, it has a large map on the background.
While in the Map menu. There are five phases (that is indicated
by looking at which of the 5 symbols circled are lit up.
The symbols is attached to the season on the Top Left corner.
It is hard to miss.)
Plus there is two options in the upper middle of the screen.
The first option marks your territory, the second option
marks your allies territory.
The first phase fastforwards the worldly events, such as famine, food
increase, etc. With their corresponding picture on the right side, and
shading in the territories affected by that worldly event.
The second phase gives you a menu on the bottom.
Starting from the left:
The first option [the one with the coins icon] : Is to increase the wages
of a unit, this raises the loyalty at the expense of your money,
-> When you click on this, you will have to click on a region where
you control, indicated by it being yellow. After clicking it, click on
one of your officers on the officer menu, or to make life easier, click
on a castle that you own, indicated by being white as opposed as red
(enemy) or green (allied), which would filter the amount of officers
to that area.
-->You may double click the officer if the menu of telling you to increase
the unit's wages does not pop out. Click the left option in order to increase
the unit's wages.
---> To check the loyalty of a unit, go to a screen with the unit
list and loyalty is listed on the 4th symbol.
-----> The fifth symbol indicates the unit's current wages.
------> Beware: Low loyalty may cause betrayal, and betraying
your allies would reduce loyalty.
The second option [the one with the soldier icon] : Is to increase the
amount of soldiers assigned to a unit at the expense of happiness and
food. This option is grayed out in the beginning, as you will need
to allocate anough happiness and food in a region in order for this
option to be available.
-> When you click on this, you will have to click on a region where
you control, indicated by it being yellow. After clicking it, click one
of your officers on the officer menu or to make life easier, click
on a castle that you own, indicated by being white as opposed as red
(enemy) or green (allied), which would filter the amount of officers
to that area.
--> You may double click the officer if the menu of telling you
to increase the army count does not pop out. The menu will say
with a arrow how much soldiers will be added. For example :
[ -> 1 = 100, ->5 = 500. ] Remember, the amount of soldiers
added is dependent on your region's happiness and food. So
the more food and happiness the region has, you will have
more soldiers ready to be added. Click the Left option to confirm.
Maximum Army count for a single unit is 5000.
---> This option adds the entire region of territory's soldiers into the unit,
it is not a individual castle arrangement like the increase wages option.
The third option [the one with the gun icon] is to purchase guns. This would
be useful in battles between armies.
--> You may double click the officer if the menu of telling you to
increase the guns count does not pop out. The menu will say with a
arrow how much soldiers will be added. For example :
[ -> 1 = 100, ->5 = 500. ] Remember, the amount of guns that can
be purchased is dependent on how much territory you currently
control. Click the Left option to confirm.
---> You may check how much of your unit's army has guns by looking at the
numbers that is on the right of their icon. For example: (5000/300) = 5000
soldiers, 300 soldiers with guns.
[Remember all of these options require CP as listed on the option when
you highlight them.] CP is the amount of points you have to do stuff,
which means at 0 CP you would be forced to end your turn.
[Third Phase]
The third phase presents you with many options on the bottom bar,
starting from the left.
The Castle Icon [First Icon] - Assign a unit to upgrade Castle Defenses.
--> You may double click the officer if the menu of telling you to increase
the castle defenses does not pop out. Click the Left option to confirm.
---> This would only increase the defenses of a castle that the officer
is currently stationed in.
----> The unit assigned to upgrade Castle Defenses may not be assigned
any other duties this turn. These duties include: moving from 1 castle
to another.
But the unit may still attack.
-----> Personal Notes: This option is fairly useless and is a waste of both
CP and money as you should be amassing a huge army anyways and conquering
other factions castles instead of defending your own.
The Plow Icon [Second Icon] - Assign a unit to upgrade the region's
farming. Grants additional Happiness and Food.
--> You may double click the officer if the menu of telling you to increase
the food production does not pop out. Click the Left option to confirm.
---> This would increase the entire region's food and happiness count.
----> The unit assigned to upgrade food production may not be assigned
any other duties this turn. These duties include: moving from 1 castle
to another.
But the unit may still attack.
-----> Personal Notes: This option is one of the most useful
options as it increases the region's food and happiness
allowing you to recruit soldiers for your army.
The icon with the symbol [Third Icon] - Assign a unit to increase the
Trade in the region. Grants additional Happiness, and wealth of the region.
--> You may double click the officer if the menu of telling you to increase
the trade does not pop out. Click the Left option to confirm.
---> This would increase the entire region's happiness and wealth count.
----> The unit assigned to upgrade trade may not be assigned
any other duties this turn. These duties include: moving from 1 castle
to another.
But the unit may still attack.
-----> Personal Notes: This option is one of the most useful options
as it increases the region's happiness allowing you to recruit soldiers
for your army.
The icon with the 3 stacks [Fourth Icon] - Assign a unit to collect taxes
from the region. Decreases happiness and wealth of the region.
--> You may double click the officer if the menu of telling you to collect
taxes does not pop out. Click the Left option to confirm.
---> This would decrease the entire region's happiness and wealth count.
----> The unit assigned to collect taxes may not be assigned
any other duties this turn. These duties include: moving from 1 castle
to another.
But the unit may still attack.
-----> Personal Notes: This option is utterly useless as it decreases
happiness, and wealth. Do this only when you really need money.
Besides you collect additional money from conquering other castles.
The icon with two squares - Assign a unit to move from one castle to another.
You may queue multiple officers if they are in the same castle by clicking on
them one after another.
--> Then click on a castle you control, and a menu will pop out. Click the left
option to confirm.
---> Remember each castle can only hold up to 6 officers, and you must have a
valid route to the castle which means the units can't move to a castle blocked
by a enemy castle.
----> The unit(s) assigned to move may not be assigned
any other duties this turn.
But the unit may still attack.
-----> Clicking on a rectangle and not a castle would cause the screen to
move to the adjacent region, as long as you control at least one castle
in thar region.
-----> Personal Notes: This option is one of the most useful options
as it allows you to position your forces freely. Do note that your
units could only attack another castle if the castle is adjacent to your
position and when the castle is connected to a path indicated by a white line.
The icon with 3 flags to 3 flags - Assign a unit to attempt to enlist a new
unit.
--> You may double click the officer if the menu of telling you to hire
new officers does not pop out. Click on a officer from the list and
press the left option to confirm. The number below the officer indicates the
army count of that officer.
----> The unit assigned to enlist may not be assigned
any other duties this turn.
-----> Personal Notes: This option is one of the most useless options
in the game as you would easily be able to recruit new units when you
conquer other factions, and having their generals and other generic
soldiers join you. When this happens, their icon will be in the middle of
the screen, click the left option to recruit.
The icon with a heart - Talk with one of your generals or talk with one of
the generals you had captured in battle.
-> When you click on this option, a menu will pop out listing all of the
generals and captive generals you have in your domain or in jail. Click
on one of them and then click on the left option to talk.
--> Doing this allows you to add one point of experience to all generals who
had not fought in battle. This also allows you to persuade a captive general
to aid you, but most of the time they kill themselves. Mainly captive lords
kill themselves.
---> Personal Notes: Since CP does not get carried over, you should spend
all of the remaining CP on this if you had upgraded everything already.
Increasing the experience of your generals is a good idea.
The Hand Shaking Icon - Assign a unit to make a alliance.
-> When you click on this, you will have to assign a unit and then
click on a region controlled by your enemy to attempt to make a alliance.
----> The unit assigned to make a treaty may not be assigned
any other duties this turn. These duties include: moving from 1 castle
to another.
But the unit may still attack.
-----> Personal Notes: This option usually is useless as they usually
refuse your offer. So don't bother wasting CP on this. Besides, betraying
allies are bad for your reputation, and is a necessity to fulfill
the whole conquering Japan thing.
When they propose a alliance, a option that colors their territory would
appear, click the left option to agree, click the right option to deny.
Last blue option is to end your phase.
The option on the bottom right corner opens the settings menu
where the the icon with a paper with a ink pen is to open the
save menu.
Reminder: Most of the above actions require money and CP.
And
Your money count is the number below your CP count.
[Fourth Phase]
The fourth phase presents you with a few options on the bottom bar.
Starting from the left:
Ninja Icon : Send a unit to spy on the enemy territory.
-> Click on a region you control, and then click on a officer, and then
click on a region where you want to spy.
----> The unit assigned to spy may not be assigned
any other duties this phase.
--> Personal Notes: This option is useless, don't click it.
Icon with a flag with 4 symbols - Assign a unit (Can assign multiple units
by clicking them) to attack a selected castle.
-> The attacked castle must be adjacent to your position, and there must be a
path connecting both castles.
--> Clicking on a rectangle and not a castle would cause the unit(s) to attack
the castle in the next region.
----> The unit assigned to attack may not be assigned
any other duties this phase.
--> Personal Notes: You will be using this option alot.
3rd Option - Useless
4th Option - End Phase
[Fifth Phase]
Fastforwards the battle events until it is your turn to attack.
[Continued in the next chapter]
4) Battle Between Armies
-> Pose a formation by clicking one of the available formations.
--> Assign a commander to command the army, by clicking one of your
unit icons.
---> If your lord is within the army, she would automatically be
assigned to be commander.
----> Remember: Always assign the unit with the highest level,
indicated by the lvl icon
in the map menu when you click on them, and with the most army count
to be commander, and is a unique character
(Not a generic samurai/female peasant).
------> As commanders or units with a low army count will have the
least stable morale when attacked despite what the numbers say.
--> The morale of a unit is indicated by the last number on the
unit's face.
---> Pay attention to the morale when a unit is attacked, when the
unit has a
red and low morale after being attacked, move backwards as the unit
would recover morale when it is not attacked.
--> Assign your army to fight. Unit composition is
(Commander + Someone else, etc.)
--->Remember: Always assign the unit with the highest army
count and is a unique character
with your commander.
----> If your commander has been defeated, then the battle is lost.
--> The dual squares option is to swap a non-commander unit with one
of your reserve units by clicking one of your unit icons that is not
in battle.
---> This would cause the unit to be swapped and the new unit to be
in the left most corner.
----> Don't use this option.
--> The first Red Symbol is to call a ambush unit by clicking one of
your officer icons that is in your reserve. The ambush unit would
be invisible to the enemy and would be sent back to the reserve
upon the first attack.
---> Very useful when you need a extra edge in battle.
--> The second Red Symbol is to wait.
---> Useful in baiting the enemy to move in range so you could attack
them.
--> The blue with a white castle symbol is to change the battlefield
to Sieiging.
(Do this when you are attacked and do not have much forces
stationed in the castle,
so that your army count won't be reduced to 100 after the battle if
you are defeated)
--> If one of your units move back to one of your symbols then the
battle is lost, you will siege if you are defending. Same thing
happens when a enemy unit walks into your symbol.
--> The arrow icon pointing right is to move the unit right.
---> The arrow icon pointing left is to move the unit left.
----> The Spears icon is to attack
-----> The spears icon would lead to 3 more options, the first one
is to attack to the
left, the second one attack the unit in front of you, the third one
attack the unit to the right.
------> The gun icon would shoot the enemy army with guns.
Tip: Bait your enemies into walking in range for your attack
so you get the first attack.
Tip 2: Use your Lord and other unique units in the beginning
of the game to fight battles, always push forward if you have
the advantage, move backwards and wait if you want to regenerate
morale.
5) Sieging
A menu with a castle in the background.
This happens when you are victorious in combat or if you are under siege.
1st Option - Attack at the expense of your troops
-> Don't do this, you will need to amass a huge army count to steamroll
everyone later.
2nd Option - Attack at the expense of your money
-> Do this since you will have a enourmous amount of money.
--------
Pictures of New Officers After battle or during Battle
2 Options
The first one is to enlist the new unit, the 2nd one is to not enlist.
The rest of the unique units who don't surrender would be thrown in jail.
---------
General Tips :
: Always amass a high army count on unique officers
: Always attack when possible to expand
: Use your Lord and other unique officers early in the game to fight, as
the Lord has a high stable morale.
: Always upgrade farming and trade
: Spend all of your CP since it doesn't get carried over the next turn.
6) Leveling Up
Every unit, even the generic ones, may level up, indicated by the
right icon on the lower left hand corner in the unit status screen.
-> A unit may obtain experience points through the persuasion
event, or in other words, clicking the heart icon in the map
menu, then clicking on their icon and then click the left
option to confirm.
--> Units may obtain experience points by going in battle as
well.
---> Maximum level is 4.
7) Equipping Items
--->You may equip items by going to a screen with the unit list
and then click on a unit to show their status screen.
-> In the lower right hand corner there are three options.
--> The first option opens the items menu for which you can
select one and then click the second option in the new screen
to confirm.
---> Click the blue option in the new screen to discard/destroy
the item.
8) Combat Strategies
Useful strategies during battles include:
[I] Focusing on non unique enemy generals, as non unique generals
are signficantly weaker than unique ones, regardless of their
army count.
-> How to spot a non unique general:
--> Non Unique generals have the generic Samurai Portrait,
or generic girls with a band tieing their hair.
---> Unique generals all have a different appearances
and can be spotted immediately as they are almost
always more extravagant and/or colorful.
[II] Trapping a enemy unit between 3 of your units,
in example:
This tactic allows you to have all three units
to focus on that one unit.
[III] Always focus on one unit if possible.
-> As pushing forward to the enemy's symbol
would result in a victory, or a siege if
you are the attacking side, it is best to
focus on one unit at a time, as they could
not replace that unit if the unit is defeated
on that particular row, allowing one of your
units to claim victory.
[IV] Trap your target in the Map.
-> In the Map Menu, try to trao the enemy
general(s) in such a way where there is no
way to escape if they are defeated by
having at least one general to be stationed
in each castle, and then have them all
attack the target. See example:
[P = Owned by You, E = Owned by Enemy]
[Castle P] <-> [Castle E] <-> [Castle P]
Have a general station at both Castle Ps,
thus trapping the enemy general at Castle E,
and then send both generals of both castles
to target Castle E to start a battle during
the Fifth Phase.
This tactic allows the enemy generals
to not have a route to escape, as this
tends to be more annoying if they keep
escaping everytime you defeat them.
9) Jail
Jailed generals may be viewed with the
Heart Icon during the Third Phase.
Defeating Unique Generals would
automatically jail them.
-> You will know that the general
is in jail if the background
while you are talking with him/her
is a jail or a dark room.
--> As you talk to him/her there
would be several dialogue options,
depending on which dialogue you
choose, he/she may join your army.
---> The Lords, can not be swayed
to join your army during your
first playthrough.
----> Generals and Lords that do
not join your army after talking to
them would commit suicide, killing
him/her.
-----> There dialogue varies, as
I had obtained the huge chested,
and by huge I mean really huge,
cute girl who wears barely anything
to join my army but everyone else
committed suicide D:

Sangoku Hime 2 is released!
Same Developers behind Sengoku Hime 3!
The game is about the Three Kingdoms but with almost
everyone who was male turned into girls!
Similar Systems,
I unfortunately would not make a Guide for that game,
because after playing it for a while, it didn't have the same
amount of impact that Sengoku Hime 3 had on me.
