First off, a little bit about myself. This is the first FAQ that I have written
, and it takes me a lot longer to do....I just don't seem to have the time
sometimes. So it may not get updated for long times. Just look at the version
history to see that. However, all emails are welcome, and will be replied to.
And now the game. Republic: The Revolution is made by eidos. Its basically a
game about political power in a dictatorship. You, as the player, have to
build up political status, and gain support. However, thats only one side of
it. You can do other things, such as attacking other parties, or factions as
they are called in this game. Doing this loses their support, pushing them
down the political ladder. Your eventual goal is to have huge amounts of
support, and overthrow the dictator, President Karasov and become ruler of the
country, Novistrana.
You start off as a lone supporter, and must your yours skills, influence,
wealth or force to gain support and more skills. You are completely in control,
and so its up to you. You can choose from different styles, and hundreds of
different actions.

==========
The Basics
==========
As the manual that comes with this game is relatively poor, as is the in-game
tutorial, I have decided to add this section. Basically, in
Republic: The Revolution, you plan and allocate jobs for the members on your
faction to do. There are three sections in each day, morning, afternoon and
night. Each character in your faction can do one task per section, meaning a
maximum of three tasks per day.
Now, it starts to get more complicated. First off, all your characters
(apart from your own personal avatar) need rest. They thereofre have one sleep
period per day. this can be changed to any period you like, but it
effectively only give them two periods a day in which to work. Allocating the
tasks is simple, but at first, not obvious, and the manual is virtually no
help. It took me some guesswork and reading every step in the manual at least
three times to work it out. The tasks that you can allocate are different,
and each is unique. In total there are seven different typres of action, but
each type of action has many different actions within it. For instance, one
type of action is gaining support, but there are a variety of ways of doing
this. You can threaten people to support you, or use posters, or use
door-to-door techniques. Each character can perform different actions. Also,
you get a say in which actions the characters can do. This is explained in
the promotion part. Also, the actions cost resources, again, this will be
explained in more detail in a later section.
=====================
How to Allocate tasks
=====================
to start off, each task needs a character to it and a action you do. So, click
on the character you want to do the action in the inner circle panel. A box
with all the availible actions come up. You can hover over these to get
information about them and how many resources they cost. Then click on the
"Tick" box near the bottom right on the screen. You are then taken to the
satelitte screen.
Here, you have to choose more things. These include a target character, a
district, a location or a faction. Most taks only require one or two, but
some require all of them and in general, different tasks require different
things. You can ssee which one's you need to choose in the bottom right box.
The first one, if you need it, is to choose a character. The actions that
require this are strengthen character, attack character, recruit and story
actions. To do this, click on the character. This will bring up information
about them. Then, click on the "Tick" box in the bottom right again. This
automatically chooses a district for you, as you can only see a character in
the district that they are in. So you don't need to bother about it. You must
now choose a location
If you don't need to choose a character, you must choose a district. To
choose that, simply click on the district you want to target. The district is
then seleted. If you only need a district, you have done it. Just click the
"Tick" box to confirm and it is complete. Otherwise, you will have to choose
some more things.
If you are doing a support attacking action, then you will need to choose a
faction. Simply, after the district, click on the section of the pie chart
belonging to the faction you want to attack to choose this. Then you will
move onto the location bit.
The location is the last bit you will need to choose. Click on the location
you want out of the locations availible to you. the white bar along the
bottom shows the secracy level on that location. After clicking, you will be
taken to that location in the game world. Now simly click the "Tick" box to
confirm the action. The action is now set!
At any time, you can tick the "Cross" box to delete the entire action or
click on a stage in the bottom right hand corner box to go back to that stage
in the action.
If this isn't enough for you, email me about the bit that you are stuck on.
===================
The different Tasks
===================
The seven main types of tasks, or actions, are:
Information - For these, you just have to choose a character and a district
to gain information in. These actions increase your knowledge in a said
district. With most upgraded information actions, you will also increase your
knowledge slightly in surrounding districts. Basically, you need to know
information to find secret (and open) meeting places, and find out what other
factions are doing. So, its always good to have as much information as
possible. A good thing about information is that having support in the
district increases information, as your supporters tell you things happening.
(Thats what happens, but all that is shown on the game is your information
level increasing.) Information actions use a different idealogy theme.
Basically, using an action with the same idealogy as the district is best.
Misinformation - Thse also only requite a character and action to do the
action and a target disctrict, nothing else. Misinformation is the opposite
of information. It is the spreading of fake information, which decreases
other factions knowledge in a certain district. These are extremely helpful
as keeping things that you want to keep hidden, hidden. For instance, if you
are spreading large amounts of sleaze, or attacking opther members, or just
in general keeping your plans hidden. They aren't used much as the beginning,
as you have less to hide, but if you turn to more rough tactics, which you
probably will do somewhere along the line, this will be helpful.
Misinformation actions use a similar idealogy theme. Basically, using an
action with the same idealogy as the district is best.
Support gathering - These normally require a character, action, district and
a location. However, a few, such as poster campaign only require a target
district, not a location as well. These, along with information actions,
will be the most widely used. These are so important because your support
determines your resources, which is like your currency. Also, its a main
objective to gather support, and its feels good looking at the map and seeing
all your support! You can only gain support from neutral civilians (called
proles in this game) so choose to do support gathering actions in districts
where there is a large amount of neutral support, although anything over 33%
neutral will generally give the same effect. Also, when choosing a location,
its normally best to choose a low secracy place, so that as many people as
possible will see it. However, if the action will give out sleaze, then you
may want to balance out the obvious sleaze with how many people will see it.
Support gathering actions use a similar idealogy theme. Basically, using an
action with a different idealogy to the district is best. It is done like
rock papers scissors. Wealth beats force, force beats influence and influence
beats wealth.
Support Attacking - The opposite of support gathering. These turn supporters
for a certain faction back into a neutral status. Therefore, these are best
followed up with a support gathering action, to move the newly turned neutral
support into your support. Be careful though, a lot of Support Attacking
creates leaza (read the sleaze section for more information.) These include,
Takeover, Riot and Vandilise. However, there are some, such as Leafleting and
Defame that do not. If possible, these actions are extremely important.
Support Attacking actions generally need a low secracy location, although,
again, with Sleaze actions, you will have to decide depending on the
circumstances. Support attacking actions use a different idealogy theme.
Basically, using an action with a different idealogy to the district is best.
It is done like rock papers scissors. Wealth beats force, force beats
influence and influence beats wealth.
Strengthen Character - These actions improve a character's resolve. Resolve
is very important, as the higher it is, the better each action is carried out.
Resolve is a stat used in every action. Therefore, increasing a character's
resolve is important if it is too low. Resolve is a bit like faith. It
decreases and increases over time, due to factors like successful or failed
actions or idealogical differences. If a character resolve gets to low, he
will leave the faction. Therefore, you must use these actions to stop
characters from leaving. They also temportarily add to the other stats.
Strengthen character actions use a similar idealogy theme. Basically, using
an action with the same idealogy as the character you are strengthening is
best. Also, should be done in high secrecy places. It doesn't really matter,
so high secracy is best, as then the other factions cannot see it.
Attack Charcter - This is the opposite of strengthen character. It lowers a
characters resolve, if it is successful. These actions are normally used to
make a character leave an opposition faction, or to soften a character up
before recruiting them yourself. Recruiting someone with a lower resolve
means it is easier to recruit them, although you may then have to use a
strengthen character action on them. These actions also temporarily decrease
other stats, making them less effective at their tasks. Attack character
actions use a different idealogy theme. Basically, using an action with a
different idealogy to the character you are attacking is best. It is done
like rock papers scissors. Wealth beats force, force beats influence and
influence beats wealth.
Recruit - Recruit is the action used to get someone to join your faction. You
can have a maximum of 6 people in your faction (including yourself.) However,
there is a limit of 4 in the first city, and 5 in the second city. 6 is only
allowed once you are in the third city. Unlike the other actions, there is
only recruit, therre is not an opposite. You can recruit any character,
except the leader of each factions. So, you can recruit character from other
factions, or characters now in a faction. Recruit actions use a similar
idealogy theme. Basically, using an action with the same idealogy as the
character you are recruiting is best. Also, watch out for the target
characters resolve, the higher it is, the harder it is to recruit them.
Also, if you try to recuir a character with a level much higher level than
your own, the chances the failing increase.
There are also special tasks, whcih are only availible in a particular area,
although some, such as liaise, will be found regularly. They are tasks that
require a story to go with them, and although you can do them whenever you
want once you have them, you can only do them when you have them and they
are essential to advancing the story. They generally invovle talking to
someone (normally then called liaise) or giving something to someone. The
talking ones will use the conversation ones, while the giving something to
someone will not.
The conversation ones will work a lot like recruit actions. Idealogy doesn't
matter so much, as only your personal character can do them, but level and
resolve is important.
============
Conversation
============
For some actions, such as the recruit actions, and a majority of the sepcial
actions, you have a conversation. Although you can just leave it and the game
will sort it out, to complete the action successfully you must win the
conversation, and you are probably better at that than the computer, so its
often a good idea to do it again, otherwise it could be a waste of time.
In the time period that the action is happening, you may be automatically
transported to a event, which will show your character meeting up with
someone else, gretting him, and them sitting down. Then the conversation
starts. If you aren't automatically transported to the event, you can
manually do this by double clicking on the event. In the inner circle panel,
on the timeline, there is a little action showing what each character is
doing in the section. Double click on that to go to the event.
After the two characters have met, and sat down, the conversation starts.
Your first job is to set your four arguments. The first screen comes up.
Towards the right, is the amount of points you can spend, and also how many
your opponent can spend. You spend your points by clicking on the four boxes
in the centre. The more points, the stornger the argument. Also, each argument
must have a different number of points, but you can use 0 points.
Also on that screen, you can see which arguments give the most points, and how
many points you need to gain to win. In the centre, there is a list of 8
numbers. These are the points availible for each argument. There are two
rounds of arguing, which consist on four arguments each. In each round, you
must use all your arguments. The first column shows the points for each
argument in the first round, and the second column the same for the second
round. Most go 5,10,15,20,5,10,15,20.
Also, in the bottom right, you can see how many points you need to win the
argument.
A good tactic to win is if you need less than the best score from each round
added together (so normally 20+20 =40) and you have more points availible is
to set your points as 0,1,2,maximum. Like that, the maximum will always win,
and so you can use that on the best one in each round and win!
Then, you go onto the argument screen. Here, you choose which arguments to
place where. The points for each argument are now in one single column down
the middle. In the first round, you do not know what arguments your opponent
has, but you are shown them in the second round. You choose an argument to
play first, and the other character does. Whichever one wins gets the point.
The opponent always wins if it is a draw. Then you play an argument for the
second and third argument. For the fourth argument, you have no choice, as
you have used up the remaining three.
Now round two starts, you can see your oppoenents arguments, but apart from
that, it is exactly the same. Once round two is finished, you can see who has
won by looking in the bottom left and bottom right corners of the screen. In
the bottom left is you, with the poijts you need. If you have them, the
writing turns green. If you don't, the writing turns red. In the bottom right,
is your opponent, the writting does exactly the same for him.
Click on the tick in the top right then on the globe bottomn to return to the
main playing world.
If you find that too complicated, email me. I may have to change it, and I
will be able to give you a more detailed bit on the bit you don't understand.
=========
Resources
=========
For each task that you carry out, it costs resources. You get resources in
the three idealogies, wealth, force and influence. Some actions use up only
one type of resource, others use two, or even all three. The more advanced
the actions are, the more resources it costs.
So when setting actions, always keep an eye on the resource level. you can't
do anything if it's too low. You should always keep the resources, and always
have all faction members (or all but one) doing an action. Otherwise they are
wasted. At first, it's a fine balance, and hard, but after getting used to it,
and knowing how to get resources up, it's not that hard to get large amounts
of resources by the end of a city.
Now, how do you gain resources? Each district in the game has a certain amount
of resources allocated to it. You can see how much resource there is by
hovering the mouse over the district when you are in satelitte view. The
majority of the resources will depend on the districts idealogy, but there
can be 5 or 10 of another idealogy included.
Then, depending on the amount of support you have in that area, you get that
percentage on the resources per day. So if you had 100% support, then you
would get all the resources. Therefore, always get support in districts where
you need that idealogy's resources, and district of the idealogy that you
have the most faction members. In general, that will be your faction's
idealogy.
=========
Promotion
=========
Each character will gain experience from successfully completing actions. Once
that character has enough experience, they will gain promotion. When this
happens, a flashing star will appear next to their name, and you will get an
alert message in the bottom left. (Just like where you get diary, memo and
newspaper notes)
Click on the star to access the promotion screen. This screen is split into
two main sections. The section on the left allows you the character to either
improve their exsisting actions, or learn new actions. All actions start as
no-star actions. Each promotion, you may improve one, and only one, action by
one star. The maximum number of stars an action can have is three. If an
action in the promotion screen has one-star next to it, that means that
currently, it is a no-star action, and if yoou improve it, it will become a
one-star action. In other words, it will shows the action if it is improved.
Bear in mind, especially early in the game, that improving the actions also
increases the resources needed for that action. This can be extremely
annoying. If there are new actions that can be learnt, they will appear in
this part of the screen as well. These actions will be shown as the improved
action as well. Therefore they will have no stars. This distinguishes them
from the actions you already know because actions you already know will have
at least one star.
The second part oif the screen is the right side. This side allows you to
improve your characters stats. There are four stats that can be improved, and
each promotion you will get 10 points which can be spread between them. The
four stats are Status, Presence, Charisma and Control. Each action uses a
certain stat, or sometimes two. You can see these by hovering over an action
and the stats used turn blue. You can therefore decide which stats you use
most, and which you want improving. For instance, force action often use the
presence stat, etc.
======
Sleaze
======
Sleaze is basically bad facts. Certain actions create sleaze when they are
done. These are generally attack support attacks, although some attack support
actions create no sleaze, and some gain support actions do, like Canvass.
When actions show up as facts on the satelitte map, you can see them as little
diamonds. Clicking on one and then clicking the information option brings up
information about the action. Here, you can see whether that action creates
sleaze, and how much sleaze it creates.
You can also use sleaze against your opposition. First, find an action that
contains sleaze. Then click on the camera to go to the the action in the game
world. This takes you to the action, although unfortunately it isn't always
in the picture. Move around a bit using the arrows on your keyboard to move
and right clicking and dragging to rotate, to find the action. Look around the
buildings, it will be there.
You are looking for a rotating box of that factions colour. Once you have
found it, click on it, and there is a newspaper icon. Click that to start the
sleaze action. You have to show sleaze to the world, and therefore you must
use an action to do so. Only certain actions can be used with sleaze. As long
as you have the actions, sleaze can be used by either gain support actions to
gain yourself support, or by attack support actions, which attack factions
support. Basically these actions are normal actions that have the added bonus
of creating a newspaper article, which you will be able to see once the action
is completed.
Beware though, sleaze can also be used against you!

===================
General Information
===================
There are ten different careers, three influence careers, three wealth and
four force. They are:
Wealth:
Media (Eye)
Celebrity (Star)
Business ($)
Influence:
Political (Person)
Religious (Cross)
Academic (Open Book)
Force:
Police (Shield)
Crimical (Sword)
Union (Fist)
Military (Gun)
You can see which career track each character is in by clicking on them. In
the information tab, there is a little icon in the top left, which shows the
career path. This picture depicts what is in the brackets above. Each career
path is the same, although with the promotions you can make each character
with the characters different. This is because the career path shows which
action a character can do, and when they become availible. However, you must
use the promotion screen to improve the action, and to learn new actions.
For instance, you have two characters at the start level. Both can do
investigate or canvass. They both get a promotion. With character one, you
upgrade canvass to level one. With character two, you upgrade investigate to
level one. Then they both get a second promotion. You can either upgrade the
actions further, or choose to learn one of two new actions, leafleting and
debt collection. Character one learns leafleting, while character two learns
debt collection. However, you could still continue through the promotions to
make each character exactly the same again, as the possibility to learn new
actions stays. In this way, you can make sure each character is different and
has a certain role.In this case character one is a support character, with a
support gathering and attacking action. While character two could be used for
finding out about, and then attacking other characters.
Also, bear in mind that your character has his own special career path, that
the types of action is the same, but the idealogy of the actions is different.

Getting Started
===============
As you click on start new game. You see some still pictures, like cartoons but
not cartoonish (if you get what I mean.) These show the history of your life,
and show you why you hate the President.
Then, still before you start to actually play the game, you must make your
faction. You will be asked a series of questions, which makes the idealogy of
your faction. In addition, you are asked for the name of your character and
the name you want your faction to be called.
First up is a screen asking you to type in the name of your faction and of
your character. As far as I am aware, and I'm pretty certain, this has
absolutely no relation to your idealogy at all. It wouldn't make that much
sense would it?
Next, you will be asked a series of questions. These tell you a situation that
you are in, and there are four possible outcomes. The answers that you give
will decide your idealogy.
-------------
The questions
-------------
Question Number 1: After witnessing the abduction of your parents by Karasow,
you begin your long quest for revenge. Desperate and young you decide to:
Answer A: Study at College?
Answer B: Get invovled with the criminal fraternity?
Answer C: Start a small export business?
Answer D: Get invovled in an underground boxing club
What it they all mean:
A: Influence, although not that much, it's the most influencial.
B: Force, strongly.
C: Wealth, quite strongly.
D: Force, but not that much.
Question Number 2: In the years that folllow, Karasov's power grows. You soon
realize that you must become accustomed with the tools of power yourself.
Searching for knowledge you track down some subverise literature, do you read:
Answer A: Special Forces Urban Survival Book?
Answer B: Neuro-Linguistic Programming - A Practical Guide to Manipulation?
Answer C: Commerce and Capitalism - A Guide to the New World Imperium?
Answer D: Political Insurgency - A KGB Primer)
What it they all mean:
A: Force, relatively strongly.
B: Force and Influence, both not very much though.
C: Wealth, strongly.
D: Influence, quite strongly.
Question Number 3: The Soviet Union has collapsed. Karasov has now installed
himself as Persident of Novistrana, a newly formed breakaway republic.
'Citizen Watching' schemes spring up everywhere. You are asked to join one.
Do you:
Answer A: Jump in with gusto keeping files on everyone and reporting to the
authorities those who threaten to expose you?
Answer B: Attend enough meetings and ensure you do enough not to arouse their
suspicions?
Answer C: Call in a few favors and ensure that no one takes of notice of this
bunch of busy bodies?
Answer D: Find out where the leader of this obvious front for the secret
police lives and firebomb his home?
What it they all mean:
A: Sort of not really any of the main three things in my opinion although I
expect it probably counts for something.
B: This is the same as above, except that I find it much harder to even think
of an idea for this.
C: Influence, a bit.
D: Force, bad style.
Question Number 4: Karasov and the finance minister recklessly gamble with the
nation's money on the international currency market with disastrous results.
Unemployment has risen sharply, people are impoverish and crime is rife. You
choose to help people in the local community by:
Answer A: Supporting a charity that helps tthose worst afflicted by the
social ills?
Answer B: Use your connections to get those who you favor good jobs?
Answer C: Encouraging them to join the miltary so that they will have a career
and purpose in life?
Answer D: Calling your friends at the police headquarters to have undesirable
types removed from your area?
What it they all mean:
A: Influence mainly.
B: Wealth, a bit.
C: Probably force a little bit, and influence a bit.
D: Force, a lot.
Question Number 5: there is widespread concern avbout Karasov's increasingly
autocratic policies. Groups sring up to protest against various oppressive
measures, one such group is organizing a rally. You decide to offer your
services by:
Answer A: Giving a rousing opening speech to inspire the masses to your cause?
Answer B: Orchestrating the rally behind the scenes, writing the speech, and
seeing that all the propaganda material is in place?
Answer C: Paying a visit to the town officials to ensure that there is no
unexpected intervention by the authorities?
Answer D: Whipping the massed ranks of protestors so that the trouble starts
once the rally is over?
What it they all mean:
A: Influence, a lot.
B: nothing really, as far as I can think of.
C: Wealth.
D: Force, and quite funny as well, whipping is a bit strange though.
Question Number 6: a national holiday marks Karasov's birthday. The town mayor
is putting on a high profile party with the most important and influential
people in the area invited. How do you conduct yourself at the party?
Answer A: After researching everything you can about the guests you spend the
might schmoozing and making contacts?

Level One - Information
=======================
There are twelve districts. Four force, four influence and four wealth. At the
start, there are another 4 factions, although the most powerful one disbands
after all its members are arrested. The other factions are: The Democracy Now
Party (DNP). This is the one that disbands. The others aare the Konstantino
Cartel, and two more!
There are 4 power nodes in this city. They are:
1.The Prison. found in Vostok Green, a wealth area. To own it, you will need
70% support in that district. The benefits it gives you are: +15% bonus to all
weaken character and information gathering actions.
2.The Town Hall. found in Town Center, a wealth area. To own it, you will need
90% support in that district. The benefits it gives you are: +10% bonus to all
strengthen character and recruit actions.

-------------------------------------------------
Objective One - Find and employ a Right Hand Man
-------------------------------------------------
Since you are a influence faction, it makes sense for you to recruit someone
of the same idealogy, influence. Therefore, out of the three choices availible
to you at the start, you should choose the person with the influence idealogy,
Semyon Titov Remember, however, that not everyone in your faction should be of
the same idealogy, there should be some variety. Just not yet!
So, you must assign a "Headhunt" action. This is a recruit action, that will
allow Semyon Titov to join your faction. To do this, read the "How to
allocate Tasks" section in the "How to play" section."
When you get onto the satelitte screen view, where you must choose the person
that you wish to recruit, look around and find the person with a blue
background. That will be Semyon Titov. A blue background means he is a
influence character. yellow means wealth, and red means force.
Click on this person, and then follow the general guide for recruiting again.
When you have finished allocating this task, it will be scheduled for Day 1
afternoon. Therefore, your character will now be busy in the next period of
the day. This is shown by a small no entry symbol next to your avatar.
However, since you will be spending most of the afternoon section doing a
conversation, you should also allocate an action for the night now. I
recommend doing a investigate action in Prokovief Plaza. Since this is the
district where your Headquarters (refered to as HQ from now on) it located.
It is sensible to get information there first. in the end, you will need
information everywhere, but you have to start somewhere!
From now on, you will have to notice when you are doing a action that requires
a conversation, and plan ahead accordingly. The conversation actions generally
are recruit, strengthen character and story actions.
- You move onto Day 1 Afternoon
When the morning section has finished, and the afternoon section begins, the
game might automatically take you to the scene of the recuit. Your character
will be standing around, and another character will meet him. Then you will
sit down and start the conversation.
If the game doesn't automatically take you to the action. click on the
picture in the timetable of your recruiting action. Then click on the camera,
this will take you to the action.
If you have read the how to play section, then you will know how a
conversation works. Firstly, allocate your points. Use a 0,1,2,maximum layout
of your points. Then, use them like: 1,2,0,maximum,2,1,0,maximum. This nearly
always will get you 50 points, more than enough to win most conversations, and
definitely this one.
Note: The amount of points you have depends partly on what answers to the
questions you chose. So, you may have a slightly different number of points,
if you chose different answers. Also, is does seem to vary a bit anyway.
You will definitely win. Therefore you will have recruited Semyon Titov.
objective one will now be complete. In the top right, there will be a symbol
of the globe with a arrow around it. Click this to return to the main game
view. Since your objective is complete, you should get a small message saying
that the objective is completed.
- Move onto Day 1 Night
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective 2 - Scout a district to increase our knowledge to 70 or higher
------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all, although 70 is just a number, it means 70%. Now that you have
two people in your faction, you can assign them both to do actions. However,
Semyon Titov will be sleeping in the next section, so dont't set him anything.
By now it is night, so your character will already be scouting in Prokovief
Plaza. Assign him an investigate task to investigare Prokovief Plaza in the
morning. Both of the actions investigate action will get around +30 knowledge,
which when added to the 20 knowledge you start off with there, puts you over
the required limit.
At this time, you will receive a memo. It is of little importance. It
says that Boris Filatov is annoyed that he is not in your faction. He was one
of the other possibilities to recruit. However, since all of them would get
annoyed if you don't recruit them, and you can, at present, only recruit a
maximum of two members, then one is bound to get annoyed.
- Move onto Day 2 Morning
As the morning dawns, you will get another Memo, saying that Josef Nasarov is
also annoyed. I would now suggest recruiting him. Set your character to
headhunt him. Hew is the force character (red background) found in Shubnoi
Industrial Estate. Also set a Semyon Titov to do a Canvass action in Prokovief
Plaza, your HQ district.
Towards the end of the morning section, when your investigate action has been
completed, if you have been following this guide exactly, you will get four
messages. The first one is that your character has gained a level. This means
he can now get promoted. To access the promotion screen, click on the star
that has now appeared on your character avatar. First you can improve one of
your actions. Since headhunt will now rarely be used, and your character will
be investigating all the time, upgrade your investigate action. It will now be
a one-star action, so it is better! Next, allocate your ten points all onto
the control stat. This is the stat used in Investigate actions, so it is the
one you will be using.
Secondly, your objective is complete. Thirdly there is a diary entry about
knowledge, and how important it is. And fourthly, there is a New Move Memo,
telling you that you can moves your recruits homes in the faction screen.
- Move onto Day 2 Afternoon
--------------------------------------------------------------
Objective Three - Gain at least 60% support in our HQ district
--------------------------------------------------------------
Your HQ district, as mentioned before is Voronozh Fields. The objective also
gives you a note. You can only convert neutral citizens to your cause. If you
look in the satelitte view, in Prokovief Plaza, there will be a pie chart.
The coloured areas shown the percantage support of the factions, the grey area
the percentage of neutral citizens. There will be more than 60% neutral, so
this objective is not much of a problem, especially since you should be
recruiting another member this very second.
Go to the conversation now. You will be able to use a 0,1,2,maximum layout.
Do the arguments in this order: 1,2,0,maxzimum,1,2,0,maximum. This will get
you enough to win easily.
After you complete the coversation, you need to set your characters actions.
Exit back to the main playing screen and set your character to investigare
Turbina Park. Set Semyon Titov to canvass in Prokovief Plaza. This will be
enough to complete your objective. Then, about half an hour before the end of
this section, Josef Nasarov will properly join your faction. This means you
can quickly set him a Scout action on Turbina Park, in the west. To do this,
watch out for him appearing in the innder circle panel. Quickly click on him,
the Scout button, then Turbina Park. Click the "Tick" button before the end of
the section and you have set it. There should be more than enough time.
- Move onto Day 2 Night
Allocate your tasks. Continue to investigate with your character, investigate
Kandinsky Gardens. Notice that you are investigating the influence districts,
as influence is the most important to you at the moment, as you need influence
resources the most. Semyon Titov will be sleeping, so set him nothing. And
with Nasarov, set a scout action in Turbina Park.
Before the end of this section, your character will gain promotion again. Do
exactly the same, upgrade your investigare action, and allocate all ten points
to the control stat.
You also recieve two New Move Menos. The first one is about how you can
change a character's shift. There is absolutely no point in doing this now,
since it takes time, costs resources and doesn't improve your position, since
both character sleep in different sections. The second informs you resolve.
Your character's new skill (gained automatically, not in a promotion. This
happens from time to time), Annoint will increase a character's morale, so
that it will work more efficiently. You may find that Filatov's and Nasarov's
resolves are low, but this action costs valuble resources, 100 influence, so
should not be used yet.
- Move onto Day 3 Morning
As you enter day three, a reminder will pop up. It says, "Every third day is
event day. Support Erosion and Resolve Degradation will occur today."
This happens at the end of every third day. 3,6,9,12 etc etc. When this
happens, each faction support is eroded a bit. The amount depends on a number
of factors, like if sleaze has been used, and the difference between the
faction's idealogy and the district's idalogy. Also, natural lowering of a
character's resolve will happen today. Resolve goes down if you fail in an
action. Note: This is only for natural resolve lowering. Actual attacks that
lower a character's resolve will lower their resolve immediately.
You also will recieve a newspaper. Click on the main article to read it. It is
basically about President Karasov stamping out on any other factions apart

from his own. He is a dictator after all. This is part of a series of events
to make you scared that you are going to fail, although there is no reason
why. Don't worry, you don't have to do anything.

Now, set the tasks for you and your members to do.Josef Nasarov will be
sleeping next section, so don't set him anything. However, the other two won't
be. Set your character to do a Survey action on Vostok Green, and a Poster
Campaign on Korolyov Court.
Towards the end of this section you will recieve another newspaper. The DNP,
and its leader, Robert Tarasov boldly fight back against Karasov's new plan.
- Move onto Day 3 Afternoon
------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective Four - Gain at least 25% support in all Wealth districts
------------------------------------------------------------------
After moving into the afternoon section, you are taken to a DNP rally. Really,
there is absolutely no point watching this. Exit as soon as it is possible to
do so.
Looking at your objective and the districts, you see that you need 25% in
Voronozh Fields, Town Center, Korolyov Court and Vostok Green. You should
easily have enough in Voronozh Fields.
So, set a canvass in Town Center, to get that to well over the 25% mark. You
may well have 25% there already, but you need to make sure. Anyway, it good
to get support anywhere, and that district gives quite a lot of resources.
ALso, set your character to do a survey in The Martov Estate. Boris Filatov
is sleeping, so don't set him anything.
- Move onto Day 3 Night
You will get a Promotion for Boris Filatov at this point. upgrade Poster
Campaign and add ten points to the Control stat.
Then set a Poster Campaign in Vostk Green. Then set a survey in Kutuzov works.
Set it afterwards, because if you set it before you may run out of resources,
but if you set it afterwards, then you can just use a lower level. Also set a
Canvass in Vostok Green.
- Move onto Day 4 Morning
Between the two sections, the power screen will come up. This shows the total
support of each faction in the city, and lots of other things, which make the
points total. You will probably be thrid, which if you think about it is
pretty good going for a faction that has only been around for 3 days!
Look at your objective again. You will have the support in Town Center and
Voronozh Fields, and be doing two gain support actions in Vostok Green, but,
because of support erosion, you won'y have 25% in Korolyov Court, although you
won't be far off. Set a Poster Campaign there. Nasarov will be sleeping. Set
nothing for Paul, as you need to keep your precious resources.
- Move onto Day 4 Afternoon
Your objective will be complete at the end of this section, so no worries
there. Set a canvass action in a wealth district with lots of neutral support
(I did Voronozh Fields.) And set nothing both both Filatov and your character
(Filatov is sleeping)
- Move onto Day 4 Night
-------------------------------------------------
Objective Five - Convince Prisons Workers to help
-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective Six - Gather and Maintain 80% support in Vostok Green until the
prisoer is released
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all, the reason why you now have two objectives is because they must
both be done at the same time.
You will receive a newspaper, saying that our faction has stepped out into the
Public eye, and also a memo and a diary entry about how we must release a
prisoner.
Afterwards come two more newspaper. The first one is about us. It says we have
been caught stealing from the Church collection boxes. We haven't! The second
is about President Karasov's birthday.
Set your character to do a liaise action. This is a story action that can only
be done at certain times relating to the story. At the mokment, there are two
choices, both in Vostok Green. Set the action on the top one, on Efim Novikov,
and set it in a high secracy area.
Set nothing for Filatov, to save resources, and a Canvass in Vostok Green for
Nasarov so that you get 80% support.
- Move into Day 5 Morning
Go to watch the liaise action. Set your points out as 0,1,10 and the
remaining. Then, do them in this order: 1,0,remaining,10,1,0,remianing,10.
This will definitely win.
After it finished exit. You will have a lot of memos etc, but leave them for
now. You don't have that much time, and you must set suome actions. Set your
character to liaise with the other character, Venedikt Shulgin. + Nothing for
both Filativ and Nasarov.
- Move onto Day 5 Afteroon
The game takes you to the Presidental Declaration. Quit this as soon as you
can, and go to the liaise.
Set out your points as 0,1,2,maximum and then do them in this order:
1,2,0,maximum,1,2,0,maximum. This again is a definate win.
Now, set more actions. A survey on The Martov Estate and a Canvass in Voronozh
Fields. Filatov is sleeping.
Then, look at your memo's etc.
First is a memo from the first character you liaised with, saying you need
more help. By now, you have that help! There is also a newspaper saying that
all DNP members have been arrested and they are a faction no more. All their
support has gone, as have their members. Thirdly, is a promotion for your
character. Improve Survey and get +10 in the charisma stat.
Then there is another memo, saying that you can now free a prisoner. And also
a diary saying you have both key actions.
And finally a newspaper saying Karasov is President for life. Basically a
dictator that is called a president.
- Move into Day 5 Night
Onjective 5 is complete, but 6 is still there, and objective 7 has arrived.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective Six - Gather and Maintain 80% support in Vostok Green until the
prisoer is released
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
Objective Seven - Free Political Prisoners
------------------------------------------
Set an Early Release action for your character, in Vostok Green. This is
another story action.
Also set a poster campaign in Korolyov Court, and Canvass in Turbina Park
(Yes, I've been going on about wealth all the time and this is a influence
districts, but you have nearly all of the welath support)
- Move into Day 6 Morning
You will automatically go to the early release action. Watch your character
walk into the prison. Then, you get a choice of three characters, one of each
idealogy. Notice that the influence character is Robert Tarasov, the ex-leader
of the DNP. Release him. Do this because you want an influence character. You
have two wealth character, one force, but no influence, so you want an
influence character to balance your faction out, while still being inclined
towards wealth.
You will then find that Nasarov has gained a promotion. Upgrade his canvass
action, and his control stat by 10 points.
Then set your actions. Set a survey action on any district where you have no
information. A quick way to check that is to look at the pie-charts. If there
is a pie-chart, you have some information there, if there isn't, you have no
information. Also set a Poster Campaign in any districts with at least 25%
neutral support. Go by which idealogy you have least resources of. You
probably have least resources in wealth, then influence, with most in force.
However, the wealth districts nearly have full support, so you will probably
do a influence districts here. Nasarov is sleeping.
Objective 6 and 7 are now complete. You will receive a memo saying there is
no room in your HQ.
- Move onto Day 6 Afternoon
--------------------------------------------------------------
Objective Eight - Move to a larger HQ, which can hold 4 people
--------------------------------------------------------------
Don't move yet, just do one more turn before moving. After moving your Also,
you probably don't have have the resources.
So set your character to do a survey action in Shubnoi Industrial Estate.
Filatov will be sleeping, and set Nasarov to Canvass in Lissitzki Towers
because it has a power node.
You will get a promotino for your character. Since Survey is fully upgraded,
upgrade your Headhunt action. And put your ten points onto the Status stat.
You automatically learn a new move at this point, rally.
On the power screen, you will now be top! And by quite a bit because you have
a lot of support (about 33% of the whole city).
Now, set your character to do a move HQ action. To do this, go onto the
faction screen, click on your avatar, and then on the left click the Move HQ
button. You get taken to the satelitte view where you must choose a location
for your new HQ.
After going to the location, you will see some information. You need to
choose one that says in has a maximum staff of 4. I found one in the middle
of Vostok Green.
Also set a Poster Campaign in Morozov Manor. You want to hold the power node
there, as it is beneficial to wealth factions. Nasarov will be sleeping.
- Move onto Day 7 Afternoon
-------------------------------------------------------
Objective Nine - Recruit the Freed man - Robert Tarasov
-------------------------------------------------------
Around this time, you may get reports of people attacking your support.
Ignore them for now.
Also, your character will now be locked for three sections, a whole day, and
not be able to do anything.
And Filatov will be sleeping, so, you only need to set an action for Nasarov.
Set a canvass in any district which you feel you need resources in, and has
neutral support. When choosing, districts with power nodes are better than
districts without, as long as there isn't too much (30%) ofter support there.
- Move onto Day 7 Night
You will receive another newspaper. You have been caught stealing church
funds again! You could try to do something about it, but it will stop soon,
so just leave it.
Set a Poster Campaign and a Canvass. If the otehr support in Morozov Manor is
equal to or less than 30%, do your support actions there tget 70% support and
control of the node. Otherwise, do them anywhere you need support for
resources.
- Move onto Day 8 Morning
you will a promotion for Nasarov. Learn Graffiti as a new move and put your
ten points onto the Presence stat.
Your character is still locked, although this is the last section of him
being locked.
Set a Poster Campaign in any district that is wealth or inflouence with
neutral support. And Nasarov will be sleeping.
- Move onto Day 8 Afternoon
Around now, you may start getting newspapers saying that your faction is bad.
This will be the factions using the sleaze in your cnavass actions. Ignore it,
there isn't anything you can do anyway.
Your character is now unlocked. So, set him to Headhunt Robert Tarasov. and
then set Nasarov to scout a force district with no knowledge. Filatov will be
sleeping.
- Move onto Day 8 Night
Set up your points as 0,1,10,remaining. Then, use this layout:
1,0,remaining,10,1,0,remaing,10. You will definitely win and recuit Robert
Tarasov.
Set your character to Survey a force district, and Nasarov to scout a force
districts, both with no knowledge. And set Filatov to do a Poster Campaign in
any district you want to.
Filatov will receive promotion. Improve poster campaign to three stars and
put your 10 points onto the control stat.
Now you have four members. You will noticed that you have a good sleeping
pattern. There is only one person sleeping in each section!
- Move onto Day 9 Morning
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective Ten - BVreak Chruch of Novistrana's stronghold on Lissitzki
Towers then get 80% support for ourselves
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You will receive a memo about this objective. You need to get a hold on the
Church of Novistrana.
To be continued

A. Look in the FAQ, alternatively, E-mail me. If it's not there, or you need
it explained more thoroughly, then E-mail me.

A. your faction is only as big as your Headquarters. To move your headquarters

Click on your avatar, and on the left their will be an option to move HQ.
Click this. It will cost you resources (50,50,50) and then choose a place. It
will tell you how big it is when you click on it.
Be warned though, your faction can only hold a maximum of 4 in the first city,
and 5 in the second city. 6 is only allowed once you are in the third city.

more about resources.
Q. One of my members is going to be killed. What can I do to stop it?
A. You can move their house, so that the attacking facton cannot find him. To
do this, go to your faction scrren. click on the member you need/want to move,
and on the left will be a move house option. Do this, a click on a location
for him to move to.
