Quell Zen is the 4th release in a series of puzzle games by Fallen
Tree Games. The objective of each level is to swipe an orb in the
correct combination of directions to complete the tasks of that level.
Quell Zen contains these new additions:
Pushable rings, Zen Stone Portals/Levels, Green Drops, Black Hole Levels
This guide is a complete walkthrough to beating the 192
levels using the minimum moves, and obtaining the 192 hidden
jewels and 52 Zen Stones.
There are 4 levels per stage, 4 stages per chapter, and 12 chapters in
the game. Quell Zen is 3 tomes as long as Quell Reflect.
Some of the puzzles (especially the Zen Stone ones) are very difficult
and took me >> 30 minutes to solve. Do expect to get stuck quite a few.
Disclaimer: All solutions in this guide were discovered individually by me
except where stated.

O1, O2, O3, etc. - Orb (aka Raindrop)
, (comma) - I've added commas in the solution whenever the follow occur:
Trigger green blocks, break ice, break gold blocks, touch batteries,
go through rings, or push blocks
Orbs (aka raindrops) are labeled in order starting from the top-left
corner ... going left-to-right, and then top-to-bottom
For example, the 5 orbs below would be labeled as such:
O1 . . . O2
. . O3. .
O4 . . . O5
They're labeled in order of how you would read lines in an English book.
Pearls - Collect all of these on a level to beat it
Blocks - These act as walls, but can be pushed around. Combining two of
them will make both disappear.
Spikes - These instantly pop raindrops upon contact. Brown ones can be
pushed. Red ones are rigid.
Switches - Touching these will change the directions of spikes.
Gates - There are two types of gates: green and gold. Green ones will
only allow one object to pass through it before transforming into a
solid wall. Gold ones act as walls and will disappear when contacted
by a gold orb.
Rings: Go through one ring -> Come out the other
Symbol tiles: Light all the symbol tiles to make the matching symbol blocks
solid. If you press a different symbol tile, any other symbol blocks
will close.
Green Pearls: Touching a green pearl will infect an orb and cause it to
create gates in its path.
Light panels: These change color to match the color of any orb that brushes
against it.
Batteries: These are switches that enable and disable the light panels.
Colored Beams: Beams that light similar-colored diamonds. The objective is
to light every diamond with its respective color.
Roses: Walls that toggle between open and closed states whenever they are
bumped. When in the open state, they can pop orbs.
Zen Levels: These are xxxx special hidden levels in the game.
I've placed the solutions for these levels in the same section as the
levels that contain their portals.
Black Hole Levels: These are created whenever you push a moveable ring into
a normal ring. They're like Zen Stone levels, except directions are
reversed.

Question: Why are there 145 Jewels but only 144 Levels?
Answer: There is one extra Jewel at the very end.
Question: How do I acquire the "Better Than Us" achievement?
Answer: There are several levels you can beat under the official
"minimum" number of moves. This gives you the "Better Than Us"
achievement. For some levels, you can exploit the game mechanics (e.g.
orbs get delayed when moving through portal rings, orb can block or
push an already-moving wooden block) to beat the "perfect" score.

The story is told through a mother's (Maru) letters to her missing
daughter (Kiko).
Here's the TL;DR version of it:
Intro: Maru says she'll join Kiko soon, and wonders where Kiko is.
This suggests that Kiko is missing, and possibly dead.
Sunrise: Maru receives letters and hopes one of them is from Kiko. None of
them are. Nevertheless, she'll keep writing and posting her letters.
Serenity: On Maru-san's birthday, she hangs up a prayer card for Kiko at
the temple.
Mindfulness: Maru mentions that a gentleman (Hiroto-san) brought her cake.
She also believes her poor behavior drove Kiko away from home 5 years ago.
Journey: Maru reveals that when Kiko disappeared. The whole village looked
for her, but eventually everyone gave up.
Barriers: Maru mentions that she phoned Hiroto and hints that she is
thinking of him romantically.
Loneliness: Maru apologies for despising Kiko's boyfriend before Kiko
disappeared. She wants to make up.
Distant Hearts: Maru describes how she & Hiroto-san spend a peaceful day
together at a shrine.
Recollection: Maru visits the city and bumps in Yushin-san, Kiko's ex-bf.
Yushin-san is carrying an old photo of Kiko when she was 5yo. Maru gives
the bf her blessing to be with Kiko if they're ever together again.
The Fear: Maru is worried that her neighbor will gossip that she's spending
time with Hiroto-san. She asks Kiko for help.
Anxiety: Maru worries after she notices that all her posted letters to Kiko
are gone.
Harmony: [This is the first and only letter from Kiko.] After 5 years, she
finally responds to Maru. It turns out Kiko didn't disappear because
of Maru's drinking; she disappeared because she was pregnant with Yushin
out of wedlock. That picture of the 5yo girl wasn't of herself but of her
daughter. When Maru bumped into Yushin, Yushin finally found her letters
and passed them to Kiko, who was happy for her mother's positive
transformation.
Tranquility: Maru is ecstatic finally having found Kiko. She mentions that
she's with Hiroto-san now and that she's planning to visit Kiko and meet
her granddaughter.
