Phantomphobia Truth (or Phantomphobia Shinri) is a 2008 Chinese visual novel,
based on the Fullmetal Alchemist anime and manga. It's a fan-made game, and
actually a remake of a previous visual novel: Phantomphobia Outsider.

This guide is based on the English patch, and thus the choices refer to the
translation, but it should be easy to use it for the Chinese and Japanese
versions as well.
There might be minor spoilers, so better read the walkthrough once you've
played the game on your own.

Info about the game, both the original and English patch, can be found here:

-----------
THE ENDINGS
-----------

There are eight different endings. Nine if you count the GAME OVER.
The most important variables, in order to get one ending or another, are
Relationship points with each of the three main characters (Roy, Al and Envy),
and Truth points, which you get when finding a relevant clue.

Most of these points are earned through Chapter 3, where you can choose every
day a different character to help you in your investigation.
There are a total of six scenes for each character. The first four happen
before Nina's disappearance, and must be played sequentally; for example,
you won't see Roy's fourth scene unless you have chosen him three times before.
After Nina's disappearance, the fifth and sixth scenes always play in a fixed
day. That is, if you choose Roy the second day after she's missing, you'll see
Roy's sixth scene, even if you didn't choose him before.

IMPORTANT: The following Ending section is written on the assumption that
you're on a first playthrough. If you finish the game, and then restart
from the beginning, the Truth points from the previous playthrough will be
carried over to the new game. That means, getting a good ending will be
easier this time (and you could ignore some of the choices to get Truth
points). Conversely, getting a bad ending will be more difficult.
A way to reset Truth points to zero, is selecting Roy the first
day after Nina's disappearance (Roy's fifth scene), then choosing
"If it's with you, we may change the world".

ROY GOOD ENDING
---------------

You only need 40 Roy points to get this ending (but if you earn 50, you'll get
an extra scene by the end). Truth points are mandatory, though (you need at
least 3).

Chapter 2
---------
-"Why do you say that?... However..." (+5 Roy points)
-"Do I have other options?" (+5 Roy points)

Chapter 3
---------
-Roy's first scene (+5 Roy points)
-Roy's second scene (+5 Roy points)
"If you must follow..." (+5 Roy points)
-Roy's third scene (+5 Roy points)
"I still want to investigate something"
"Ask the Colonel to investigate" (+1 Truth point)
-Roy's fourth scene (+5 Roy points)
-Once Nina goes missing: "I'm still..."
-Roy's fifth scene (+5 Roy points)
"Sorry, but there's someone waiting for me" (+1 Truth point)
-Roy's sixth scene (+5 Roy points)
       "No, wait" (+1 Truth point)

Chapter 4
---------
-"Go with the Colonel" (+15 Roy points)

ROY BAD ENDING
--------------

The first time you get this ending, you'll probably see a blank screen instead
of the proper CG. In order to view the actual image, you must currently have
the Purple Heaven card in your book (see the "Cards" section for more info).
This only applies to the ending scene itself, though. You can still see the
picture in the CG Library, even if you don't have the card.

You need at least 40 Roy points (see the Roy Good Ending section), but avoid
the Truth points (you must have less than 3).

Chapter 4
---------

-"This world was created by someone".
-"Sorry, you'll stay here."

AL GOOD ENDING
--------------

You only need 40 Al points to get this ending (but if you earn 50, you'll
get an extra scene by the end). Truth points are mandatory, though (you need
at least 3).

Chapter 1
---------
-"Well, of course!" (+5 Al points)

Chapter 3
---------
-Al's first scene (+5 Al points)
-Al's second scene (+5 Al points)
-Al's third scene (+5 Al points)
"Let's go then" (+1 Truth points)
-Al's fourth scene (+5 Al points)
-Once Nina goes missing: "Let's find her together" (+5 Al points)
-Al's fifth scene (+5 Al points)
"Go down" (+5 Al points, +1 Truth points)
-Select Roy or Envy the next day (sixth scene)
Roy route: "No, wait" (+1 Truth point)
Envy route: "Follow him" (+1 Truth point)

Chapter 4
---------
-"Take Al with you" (+15 Al points)

AL BAD ENDING
-------------

The first time you get this ending, you'll probably see a blank screen
instead of the proper CG. In order to view the actual image, you must
currently have the Purple Heaven card in your book (see the "Cards"
section for more info).
This only applies to the ending scene itself, though. You can still see the
picture in the CG Library, even if you don't have the card.

You need at least 40 Al points (see the Al Good Ending section), but
avoid the Truth points (you must have less than 3). You can choose Al
as partner every time, since you don't need that extra Truth point.

Chapter 4
---------

-"This world was created by someone".
-"Don't bring Al."

ENVY GOOD ENDING
----------------

You only need 40 Envy points to get this ending. Truth points are
mandatory, though (you need at least 3).

Chapter 2
---------
-"This guy is plotting something" (+5 Envy points)

Chapter 3
---------
-Envy's first scene (+5 Envy points)
-Envy's second scene (+5 Envy points)
"Sneak in and find Envy" (+5 Envy points)
-Envy's third scene (+5 Envy points, +1 Truth points)
-Envy's fourth scene (+5 Envy points)
-Once Nina goes missing: "I'm still..."
-Select Roy or Al the next day (fifth scene)
Roy route: "There's still someone waiting for me" (+1 Truth)
Al route: "Go down" (+1 Truth points)
-Envy's sixth scene (+5 Envy points)
"Follow him" (+5 Envy points, +1 Truth points)

Chapter 4
---------
-"I'm going alone!" (+15 Envy points)

ENVY BAD ENDING
---------------

The first time you get this ending, you'll probably see a blank screen
instead of the proper CG. In order to view the actual image, you must
currently have the Purple Heaven card in your book (see the "Cards"
section for more info).
This only applies to the ending scene itself, though. You can still see the
picture in the CG Library, even if you don't have the card.

You need at least 40 Envy points (see the Envy Good Ending section),
but avoid the Truth points (you must have less than 3). You can choose
Envy as partner every time, since you don't need that extra Truth point.

Chapter 4
---------

-"This world was created by someone".

ED GOOD ENDING
--------------

This is a default ending of sorts. The easiest way to achieve it, is
keeping low the relationship points with all three characters. For example,
choosing a different one every day. That, or avoiding the choices that earn
you Truth points (see the other good endings to know which are those).

Chapter 4
---------

Depending on the amount of Truth points you got, you'll find yourself in two
possible scenarios:

-If you got at least 3 Truth points, but none of the main characters has 40
relationship points, you'll go to this ending directly.

-If you got less than 3 Truth points, choose "This world is the result of
equivalent exchange" when given the option.

ED BAD ENDING
-------------

As with the above, you should have less than 40 relationship points with
everyone. You must also have less than 3 Truth points (see the other endings
to know which choices to avoid)

Chapter 4
---------

-"This world was created by someone".

GAME OVER
---------

Same as the "Roy Bad Ending" and "Al Bad Ending" routes. But when given the
option at Chapter 4, choose "I understand, let's go together" or "Continue
with Al."

----------
EXTRA MENU
----------

Upon finishing the game for the first time, there will be a new section in
the Main Menu called "Extra". Here you can view the unlocked CG's (CG Library),
endings (Memory) and cards (Card Book), as well as rewatch the intro video and
play the ending music tracks (Other).
The card book also becomes available in-game.

-----
CARDS
-----

This section explains how to unlock the special cards to use in battle, as
well as their effects.
Each time you get an ending, the unlocked cards from that playthrough will
be "saved". When you restart the game from the beginning, all the saved
cards from all previous playthroughs will be available from Chapter 1.
The Purple Heaven card works a bit differently (see below for details).

-Silver Watch card: Finish a battle in 5 rounds or less.
Effect: The enemy loses one turn.

-Attack x5: Use a normal attack 5 times in a row.
Effect: Get 5 normal attack cards in next round.

-Alchemy x5: Use an alchemy attack 5 times in a row.
Effect: Get 5 alchemy cards in next round.

-Heal x5: Use healing 5 times in a row.
Effect: Get 5 heal cards in next round.

-Small branch card: Got in the battle tutorial, in Envy's first scene.
                   Effect: 30 SP recovery.

-Big branch card: Finish battle with less than 10 HP points.
                 Effect: Full SP recovery.

-Special card x1: Use a special card 2 times in a row.
Effect: Get 1 special card in next round.

-Envy card: Got in Envy's fourth scene.
Effect: Both player and enemy lose half of their HP.

-Ed card: Got in Al's fourth scene, if you don't accept Izumi's payment.
Effect: Full HP recovery for both enemy and player.

-Fake Philosopher's Stone card: Got after any one of the bad endings.
Effect: Enemy's attack doubles, but after
5 rounds, it will be automatically killed.

-Nina card: Got right before "Ed Good Ending", if Envy points are higher
           than other characters'.
Effect: All cards become special cards in next round.

-Roy card: In chapter 2, defeat Roy in battle.
Effect: Enemy's HP is reduced by 70%.

-Gate of Truth card: Inflict more than 400 points of damage in a single attack.
                    Effect: Automatically kills the enemy.

-Purple Heaven card: Got after the GAME OVER ending (being defeated in a card
battle doesn't count). This card will only stay in your
book if the Game Over was the last ending you played before
                                        restarting a new game.
Effect: If you have this card in your book, you'll be able
to see the yaoi scenes from the bad endings.
