I. Intro

Odell Down Under is a pretty old game. It's a semi-educational game where you
play as fish in the Great Barrier Reef. Your mission? To survive. There are a
lot of fish to play as, and each will eat different things. What you need to
do is stay alive by eating, staying healthy with the help of a Bluestreak
Cleaner Wrasse (or Banded Coral Shrimp if it's at night), not eating anything
"bad" for you, and also avoiding the fish that want to eat you! There are four
modes to this game: Challenge, Tournament, Create-A-Fish, and Practice, which
I'll explain in the Walkthrough section.

Actually, this game is really not educational in the traditional manner. You
may learn a thing or two about fish and what the fish eat along the way, but
that's it. True, you'll need to remember what each fish eats, but that's the
most education you'll get out of this, most likely.

Uh...let's get onto the guide?

III. FAQ

Q: I can't catch a fish I want to eat! When I try to click on it, I start
moving near it and it runs away!

A: Press the "escape" key to pause the game. Move your mouse pointer to where
the fish is, then press escape again and click immediately after you press
escape the second time.

Q: Can I make a fish that can eat anything?

A: See the "InvinciFish" section.

Q: Isn't this FAQ part a bit short?

A: Yes. Yes it is.

IV. How To Play

It's pretty simple. Your mouse cursor appears on the screen. Move it to where
you want your fish to go. If you want your fish to eat something, click on
that. If you're trying to get it to eat any other fish, once you click on that
fish it will freeze and your fish will zoom over and take a chomp on it.
Pretty simple, really. You can hide from predators in caves or behind coral or
grass if your fish is small enough. Move your cursor off the screen to exit
the current "sector" in that direction. Note that while you can't go above the
highest level or below the lowest level, if you exit the right side of the
right-most column, you'll enter the left-most column. If you exit the left
side of the left-most column, you'll enter the right-most column.

Want some information about what's on the screen? Press the escape key and
it'll pause it for you. Then you can click on the fish or sea life to see
their names and what they're doing (such as attacking another fish or fleeing
from one)

You get points by eating things your fish can eat. If your fish takes a bite
out of it, you get 500 points. If it eats it outright, you get 1,000 points.
Strangely enough, things like coral and Plankton, which are apparently good
for infinite eatings, will, depending on your fish, give you 500 points (for
taking a bite out of it) or 1,000 points (even though you really only took a
bite out of it) depending on what fish you have. Anyway, when you have enough
points and are playing Tournament or Challenge, you'll move onto the next
level. You also have your points increase automatically as you play, unless
you're hiding.

If your Energy or Health goes down to zero, you die. Keep your Energy up by
eating. Your Energy automatically lowers. Moving around lowers the amount of
Energy quicker. If your Health decreases, find a Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse or
a Banded Coral Shrimp (depending on whether it's night or day) and it'll clean
you and restore your Health to maximum.

V. Walkthrough

There are four modes of play. There's Challenge, Tournament, Create-A-Fish,
and Practice.

In Challenge, you're given four fish. You start with the weakest of them and
have to get 5,000 points to move up to the next fish. On that fish, you need
10,000 more points to move up to the next fish, and for the next fish it's
15,000 more points, then 20,000 points.

In Create-A-Fish you...well, create a fish. Really nothing to explain there.
To find out how to make a more or less invincible fish in that, look under the
"The InvinciFish" section.

In Practice, you pick a fish and can play with it. You don't get points and
you don't "move up" like in Challenge or Tournament. Speaking of which...

In Tournament, you go through every single freaking playable fish there is,
starting with Silver Sprat and ending with the Great White Shark. If you die,
you can choose to start over or continue with no points. Tournament will be
the main focus of this guide.

What I'm going to do here is list every single fish and how it relates to the
game--even the fish you can't play as. A few of the other sea life types are
also here. For the playable fish, I'll discuss what to do with them. The
fish's name will be listed, what it eats (according to the game), its
"enemies," any special abilities, and when it is active. Then I'll give
information on how to play as that fish, if it is playable. Otherwise I'll
just explain how it affects you. That pretty much is a walkthrough, given the
way the game is set up.

First, some general advice that will be undoubtedly repeated throughout the
fish: If the fish eats grass or algae, just go near some and continually eat
it until you beat the level. If it eats sponges, you can do the same thing,
though sponges do get used up after a while. Also, if it says the fish eats
"smaller fish" this often means it will eat worms also.

Okay, here we go.

Achilles Tang
Eats: Algae and grasses
Enemies: Larger fish
Special Ability: Sharp Spines
Active: Daytime

Just find algae or grass to eat, which is incredibly easy, then chow down
until you've got the points you need.

Banded Coral Shrimp (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Mucus, old scales, bacteria, fungus, parasites, and damaged tissue
Enemies: Most fish will not eat cleaners
Special Ability: Dance
Active: Nighttime

These are the night versions of the Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasses. Low on health?
Just go up to these guys and they'll restore you to perfect health. Some fish
you play as will actually refuse outright to eat them, as they're the closest
thing you'll get to "doctors" in the fish world.

Black and White Spinecheeck
Eats: Invertebrates and plankton
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

Forget about the Plankton. This guy can eat Worms, Brittle Stars, and Shrimp,
which should be easy to find. Only bother with the Plankton if you really need
to.

Blackfin Barracuda
Eats: Smaller fish
Enemies: Big sharks
Active: Anytime

Have fun going after the medium-sized fish and worms with this fish! No,
seriously, have fun. This is a fun fish to play as.

Blackspotted Puffer
Eats: Corals, Crustaceans, Invertebrates
Enemies: Large Sharks, Groupers, Mackerel, and Wrasses
Special Ability: Inflating
Active: Anytime

Just find some coral and eat it continually. Very simple. Don't worry about
the special ability, because you won't need it at all if you use this method.

Blacktip Shark
Eats: Most smaller animals including puffers and electric rays
Enemies: Very large fish
Active: Sunrise & sunset

This is the smaller of the two sharks in the game. Although no match for a
Great White Shark (you can't eat it but it can eat you), you still should have
no problem. Actually, the Great White Shark would seem to be the ONLY fish
that can eat this fish. Go after the medium fish, the Brittle Stars, and Crabs
and you'll be fine.

Bloodspot Squirrelfish
Eats: Crabs, shrimps and worms
Enemies: Most larger fish
Active: Anytime

Despite the claim that it eats "worms" (I put that there because that's what
the game claims), this actually will NOT eat Worms, at least not the ones in
Odell Down Under. So you're stuck with Crabs and Shrimp. The good news is that
it only takes a bite out of a Crab, meaning that a Crab is re-usable even
after a chomp is taken. The bad news is the Crab immediately scurries away.
Still, Crabs tend to try to "hide", which is funny because you, at least, can
still chomp at them when they're "hiding." Try to eat the Shrimp you find, but
a Crab is the best thing to chomp.

Bluegill Longfin
Eats: Small fish and crustaceans
Enemies: Larger Fish
Active: Nighttime

Like most of the small fish that eat "smaller fish", you can eat Worms with
this. But going after some Orange Coral Gobies works very well also. Banded
Coral Shrimp is also possible. Just make sure you avoid the larger fish.

Bluelined Snapper
Eats: Crustaceans (including sea-urchins), sea anemones, and small fish
Enemies: Most larger fish
Active: Daytime

See sea urchins or sea anemones? Just eat them. Only worry about the smaller
fish if you need to.

Bluespotted Ray
Eats: Crustaceans, invertebrates, and fish
Enemies: Very large fish
Special Ability: Tail Sting
Active: Anytime

The bad news about this fish is that it takes a while to eat anything. Still,
Snails and Brittle Stars are probably your best bet on what to go after. The
good thing is that it only takes a bite out of a Brittle Star, meaning that
one Brittle Star is good for multiple chomps.

Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Old scales, parasites, and damaged skin
Enemies: Most fish will not eat cleaners.
Special Ability: Dancing.
Active: Daytime

These fish play an important game role. If your health is low, go up to one
and it'll restore it. Depending on what fish you are playing as, you may be
unable to eat these, not because "it's not on your menu" because you just
won't.

Bronze Sweeper
Eats: Plankton, small invertebrates and fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Nighttime

Try for Orange Coral Goby and Plankton.

Brittle Star (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Detritus and micro-organisms, small worms and crustaceans
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

These stay in one place until eaten by a fish. If you have a fish that only
takes a bite of them, it will drop down a small amount after being bitten.

Cleaner Mimic Blenny
Eats: Bites of other fish
Enemies: Most fish won't eat the mimic
Special Ability: Imitate Cleaner
Active: Daytime

This looks extremely like a Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse. You can use its special
ability to lure fish to you, but that's unnecessary. This is an extremely easy
fish to use. Just go up to fish and chomp on them. They'll run away (even if
they can eat you), and that's it. Try doing this on worms if you can; worms
will only fall a little if you chomp on them, rather than running away like
the fish. Warning: Although I haven't had any trouble with any other fish, I
did have a Painted Frogfish eat this fish once when I tried to chomp on it, so
you probably want to avoid them.

Clown Coris
Eats: Hard-shelled invertebrates
Enemies: Very large fish
Active: Daytime

The fun thing about this fish is you get to eat the things that most other
fish can't. Namely sea urchins, snails, and oysters. Of course, you can still
eat a Crab.

Clown Triggerfish
Eats: Invertebrates, coral, and small fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Acive: Daytime

Find some coral and continually eat it until you get your points. Quite
simple. Note that if you are playing in Tournament, at about this time you
will begin getting the larger fish.

Cluster Anemone (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Butterflyfish and snappers
Active: Anytime

These are also known as "sea anemones." Some fish can eat these, but for most
fish trying to eat these will only make you "sick", meaning that your energy
and health will decrease. They are no threat to you at all unless you try to
eat them with a fish that gets sick from doing so.

Coral Grouper
Eats: Crustaceans and smaller fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

It's probably best to just go for the smaller fish. There's the
ever-easy-to-eat Orange Coral Gobies, but this fish is big enough to eat some
of the "beginning" small fish. It can also eat Shrimp and worms. However, if
you find a Brittle Star, just chomp on it over and over.

Crocodile Needlefish
Eats: Smaller fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

Worms are easy to eat, but you can also take multiple bites out of a Brittle
Star to finish the level.

Crab (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Detritus and dead animals
Enemies: Many larger fish
Active: Anytime

This moves around and its only real purpose is as food for fish that can eat
it. It also has a tendency to run away from fish, even if those fish have no
interest in eating it.

Cuttlefish
Eats: Smaller fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Special Ability: Squirt Ink
Active: Anytime

The Cuttlefish's ability to squirt ink can scare off enemy fish, but only for
a short time. The ability's best use is if you're being pursued. Anyway, the
Cuttlefish, in addition to the smaller fish, can also go after Snails and
worms. Oh, and oysters. Can't forget about the oysters.

Dash and Dot Goatfish
Eats: Invertebrates, worms, and crustaceans
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

It should be easy enough to find enough worms, snails, and crabs to eat.

Devil Scorpionfish
Eats: Small fish, shrimp, and crabs
Enemies: Coral trout and humphead wrasse
Active: Anytime

As annoying as it is, this won't eat worms. That's annoying because worms
(which conveniently do not move) are a useful thing to eat. Ah well. Guess
we'll fall back on the usual Orange Coral Goby thing, eh? If you're having
trouble finding those, turn to the Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasses, as the Devil
Scorpionfish, living up to its name, is unafraid to eat the "doctors" of the
sea.

Doublelined Mackerel
Eats: Smaller fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

This can eat a great deal of the smaller fish, plus worms and Shrimp. Should
be easy to survive as, as long as you avoid the ever-so-annoying really large
fish.

Dusky Anemonefish (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

These are perhaps better known as "clownfish." These things actually can live
inside sea anemones, and they do so for protection, as the anemones will sting
most other fish. Nemo from Finding Nemo was a clownfish. Uh, yeah. Anyway,
these things tend to hang around anemones, but you can still eat them when
they're "in" the anemones, it seems.

Flashlightfish
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Larger fish
Special Ability: Illuminate
Active: Nighttime

The special ability seems to do absolutely nothing in this game other than
make the Flashlightfish move around like it's having seizures. Speaking of
which, for some reason if I try to move the Flashlightfish to a different
screen, sometimes it will immediately double back to where it was. I have no
idea why this happens. Well, go with the usual "hope to heck you find Plankton
and continually chomp on it if you do" strategy you use for fish that only eat
Plankton.

Football Trout
Eats: Smaller fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

Ah, the Football Trout. A real pain to deal with if you're a smaller fish, but
if you're playing as this, you get to be the one eating those smaller fish!
Heck, this thing can even eat some of the bigger fish, like the Marbled
Grouper! Have fun with this fish; just be careful of the really big fish. As
always.

Giant Clam (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Humans
Active: Anytime

This thing will stay in one place and not move at all. It is no threat to you
unless you try to eat it. What happens if you try to eat it depends on the
fish. It will either successfully eat your fish, your fish will run away as it
closes, or you'll get a "it's too hard for you to eat" message. I don't think
there are any fish in the game that can eat this, so you're best off leaving
it alone.

Giant Grouper
Eats: Fish, crustaceans, turtles, and sharks
Enemies: Very large fish
Active: Nighttime

This can eat all kinds of fish and things, including the Brittle Star. Should
be a piece of cake to use, as long as you avoid the ever-annoying sharks.

Gorgeous Prawn-goby (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Small sand dwelling invertebrates
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

These can be eaten by larger fish, but other than that serves no real purpose
in the game.

Great White Shark
Eats: Just about anything!
Enemies: Humans
Active: Anytime

This is it. The big, bad boy himself, and the final one you'll play as in
Tournament. This fish fears nothing, save humans and other Great White Sharks.
Not only can it eat any other fish, it also has an appetite for sponges. The
only thing you have to fear is other Great White Sharks, and if you're quick
enough you can eat them before they get a chance to go after you. Furthermore,
NOTHING it eats can poison it or harm it if eaten. This is truly the ultimate
actual fish in the game.

Hairtailed Flutemouth Trumpet
Eats: Small fish and crustaceans
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

If you've been playing through Tournament, you'll know the deal. Go for
Shrimps and the smaller fishes. Unlike many of the bigger fish, this fish can
get nourishment even out of Orange Coral Gobies.

Humphead Wrasse
Eats: Fish, mollusks, slugs, starfish, and boxfish
Enemies: Very large fish
Active: Daytime

Now this is the real deal. This can eat most of the fish. It can also eat
Snails, sea cucumbers, sea slugs, and Starfish. Shouldn't be hard to find
things to eat for THIS fish.

Lined Cardinalfish
Eats: Plankton and small crustaceans
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Nighttime

Despite its claim you can eat small crustaceans, all I know of that you can
eat with this is plankton, meaning you'll have to face the usual "plankton
dilemma" meaning that if you find plankton, you've pretty much won as it's
good for multiple chomps, but if you can't, you're dead.

Lionfish
Eats: Small fish, crabs, and shrimp
Enemies: Very large fish
Active: Daytime

The description says it all. Go after small fish like the Orange Coral Gobies,
or Crabs, or Shrimps. Fairly versatile.

Lobster (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Snails, clams, small fish, and dead animals
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Nighttime

You actually won't see this much, and I don't think it's any threat to you.
Most fish won't be able to eat it, so you're probably best off not worrying
about it.

Long-nosed Butterflyfish
Eats: Small crustaceans and the feet of sea urchins and sea anemones
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

It eats the FEET of sea urchins and sea anemones. That means you can chomp
them over and over again. Find some sea urchins or sea anemones (you can
almost always find them in the middle part of the highest level) and chomp
them over and over. Oh, yeah, it can also take bites out of worms.

Longfin Spadefish (Batfish)
Eats: Algae, invertebrates and small fish
Enemies: Large fish
Active: Daytime

As always with algae-eating fish, forget everything else they can eat and just
eat the same algae over and over.

Longhorn Cowfish
Eats: Invertebrates and sponges
Enemies: Very large fish
Active: Daytime

As usual with anything that eats sponges, forget about everything else and
just eat those sponges.

Longsnout Flathead
Eats: Small fish and crustaceans
Enemies: Bigger fish
Active: Anytime

Just go after Orange Coral Gobies, Shrimp, and worms and you'll be fine. You
can also take bits out of Brittle Stars! Be careful, though, because if you're
playing Tournament this is about the size when the bigger fish start to notice
you...and attack you.

Lyretail Coral Trout
Eats: Smaller fish (including poisonous ones), crabs, and lobsters
Enemies: Bigger fish
Active: Nighttime

You can't eat worms, but you can eat some Shrimp and Brittle Stars! It really
isn't that hard to find prey for this fish. There's plenty of smaller fish
around you can eat, though Orange Coral Goby is a bit small for it.
Unfortunately, this fish also seems to catch the attention of larger fish,
most especially the Football Trout. This fish is slow, so be sure to have a
hiding space ready if you're chased.

Marbled Grouper
Eats: Crustaceans, gastropods, and smaller fish
Enemies: Bigger fish
Active: Anytime

This fish is pretty darn annoying if you're not playing as it, because it'll
often come after you. But if you're playing as it, you don't have much to fear
other than the really, really big fish (like sharks). It can eats Snails and
Brittle Stars, along with the smaller fish. Worms, though, seem to be below
its size requirements. Still, the fact it eats even Snails makes it pretty
easy to find the food you need.

Moorish Idol
Eats: Sponges and algae
Enemies: Bigger fish
Active: Daytime

Either eat some algae over and over or find some sponges and eat them. Easy!

Needle Spined Sea Urchin (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Algae and detritus
Enemies: Triggerfish, giant groupers, large wrasses, filefish, and giant
helmets
Active: Nighttime

A being that stands still that most fish can't eat due to its spikes. Still,
it's a good choice for food for fish that can eat it.

Neon Damsel
Eats: Plankton and algae
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

Really easy. Find some algae (there's plenty in the middle square) and just
keep eating it.

Orange Coral Goby (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Bigger fish
Active: Anytime

These tiny orange/yellow fishes will be found in the upper-right of the
central screen and the upper-left of the right-most screen of the central
level. They're good and easy food for the smaller fishes when you're playing
as said smaller fishes.

Oriental Sweetlip
Eats: Invertebrates
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

Three words: Brittle Stars, Snails and Worms. Okay, so it's five words. But
it's three things to eat.

Painted Frogfish
Eats: Small fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Special Ability: Angling
Active: Anytime

Angling will make smaller fishes come towards you. Your best bet here is to go
after some Orange Coral Gobies or some worms.

Palette Surgeonfish
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Larger fish
Special Ability: Sharp Spines
Active: Daytime

This fish can only eat Plankton, but at least you've got some Sharp Spines to
protect you. So, as usual with the Plankton-only fish, hope to heck you find
Plankton, and when you do, don't stop eating it until the level's clear.

Peach Fairy Basslett (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

Similar to the Orange Coral Gobies, these are small fish that play no part in
your game other than to be eaten. Unlike Orange Coral Gobies, though, these
stay in one place, then scatter if you get too close to them. They're mostly
found in the upper-left corner screen.

Pencile Streaked Rabbitfish
Eats: Algae and grass
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

Extremely easy. Find some grass or algae and just start eating it. Grass may
be better, because it provides the dual usage of hiding yourself from bigger
fish.

Picassofish
Eats: Plants and animals
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

It may eat animals, but who cares? Just eat algae or grass until you've got
enough points to move up in the food chain.

Plankton (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Phytoplankton are plants, zooplankton eat plankton
Enemies: Many different animals
Active: Not applicable

"Plankton" in the game is a group of small red dots that float around.
Unfortunately, they can sometimes be hard to see, which is frustrating because
some fish can only eat these. Their only purpose in this game is to be eaten
by fish that can eat them. Plankton are good for multiple eatings. And no,
they're not going to go and attack any Crabs for the Krabby Patty recipe.

Pygmy Parrotfish
Eats: Algae, grass, and coral
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

Oh, come on. Algae, grass, AND coral? You can find something to eat on every
single one of the screens! Just find one of them and chow down!

Rainbow Runner
Eats: Crustaceans and smaller fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

Just go after the smaller fish. But if you find a Brittle Star, keep chomping
on it until you've completed the level you're on.

Redtoothed Triggerfish
Eats: Plankton and sponges
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

Don't worry about the Plankton bit. Just get the sponges. Quite simple. Also,
this only PARTIALLY eats sponges. That means one sponge is good for several
eatings (and points!)

Ringtail Wrasse
Eats: Smaller fish, brittle stars, and sea urchins
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

The "smaller fish" bit is all-too-familiar, but being able to get Brittle
Stars and Sea Urchins is an additional bonus. Brittle Stars are especially
useful because this only takes bites out of them, meaning that the same
Brittle Star is good for multiple chomps.

Sea Wasp (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Bottom dwelling shrimp and fish
Enemies: Very large fish
Active: Not applicable

These things just float in the water. You usually won't even see them, because
they don't show up much. You're best off just avoiding them. I've never seen
them attack a fish.

Semicircle Angelfish
Eats: Sponges and sea squirts
Enemies: Large fish
Active: Daytime

Find sponges and eat them. Simple as that.

Short-tail Electric Ray
Eats: Crustaceans and bottom dwelling fish
Enemies: Sharks
Special Ability: Electric Shock
Active: Anytime

Being a Short-tail Electric Ray is interesting, because most of the other fish
will run from you, even fish too big for you to eat. Well, Snails are good to
eat, along with worms and Shrimp. And smaller fish and Crabs. Just watch out
for the sharks; your electric shock doesn't seem to really get rid of them.
See a shark? Hide! This thing is too slow to outrun them. Wait, did I say you
can't outrun them? I meant you can't outswim them.

Shrimp (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Plankton, larva, small worms, and fish
Enemies: Many larger fish
Active: Anytime

These little things can be eaten by some fish. They have a tendency to run
away from pretty much any fish that can eat them, and even a bunch of fish
that don't. It's completely harmless, though.

Silver Sprat
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Bigger Fish
Active: Anytime

This is the first fish you play as in Tournament, and can possibly be the one
you lose on. It only eats Plankton, so if you find Plankton you'll have an
easy go of it. Just keep chomping on the Plankton and getting points until you
get enough. Problem is, if you can't find Plankton, then you're sunk.

Small Spotted Pompano
Eats: Smaller fish
Enemies: Bigger fish
Active: Anytime

Despite its larger size, this isn't much different than what you've used
before, assuming you're doing this in Tournament. Go for the worms, Crabs,
Shrimp, and small fish like Orange Coral Gobies.

Threadfin Butterflyfish
Eats: Coral, sea anemones, algae, and worms
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

This one is EXTREMELY easy. Either find some coral or some algae and just keep
eating it over and over until you've gotten enough points. The fact you can
also eat other things is just icing on the cake.

Varigated Lizardfish
Eats: Small fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Anytime

As usual, Orange Coral Gobies and worms are excellent choices for food, but
this thing can also eat Shrimp.

White-spotted Guitarfish
Eats: Crabs, squid, and small fish
Enemies: Large sharks
Active: Anytime

You'll have to go after the fish in the small-medium range. And, of course,
there's the Cuttlefish, though it can be tricky to eat because of its ink.

Whitemargin Unicornfish
Eats: Plankton and algae
Enemies: Very large fish
Special Ability: Sharp Spines
Active: Daytime

As always with the algae-eaters, you've practically got a level for free. Just
eat the same algae over and over. Sorry if I sound like a broken record in
describing what to do with algae-eating fish. Sorry if I sound like a broken
record in describing what to do with algae-eating fish. Sorry if I sound
like...

Whitemouth Moray Eel
Eats: Fish and crustaceans
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Nighttime

Orange Coral Gobies are a good thing for this fish to eat, but there are still
plenty of other small fish to eat. You can also eat some Banded Coral Shrimp
if you want; but will you feel good about yourself? Well, probably, but that
seemed the right thing to say.

Whitespot Hawkfish
Eats: Small crustaceans and fish
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

Go after the Orange Coral Gobies and other small fish. Self-explanatory.

Worms (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Detritus, plankton, and bacteria
Enemies: Many other animals
Active: Not applicable

These things stay in one place and do not move. Most fish that can eat
"smaller fish" can eat these also. If a fish that can only take a bite out of
a worm takes a bite out of it, the worm will fall down a fair amount, but will
remain in the game.

Yellow Seahorse (NOT PLAYABLE)
Eats: Plankton
Enemies: Very large fish
Active: Anytime

These things are too hard for most fish to eat, so unless you're a bigger fish
this won't be of much help to you.

Yellowspot Emperor
Eats: Small fish, crustaceans, and mollusks
Enemies: Larger fish
Active: Daytime

With this guy, it's probably easiest to just eat snails. You can find them on
the top and bottom levels. The best place to find plenty of snails is the
middle of the top levels. Shrimp and Orange Coral Gobies are also good choices
for prey.

VI. The InvinciFish

This fish, which can be made in the Create-A-Fish, has other names, including
Cheap-O-Fish, Greater Than A Great White Shark, El Ultimo Fisho, Fish Of
Death, and Lord Seth's Fish.

To make this fish, you need a Large fish that has equal Endurance and Agility
and a Speed lower than both of them. It doesn't matter what you set them as
long as you have them like this, but here's a play-by-play of what to do.

First, set the fish's size to Large. Set Speed to 200, Endurance to 250, and
Agility to 250. Set the color and Day or Night to whatever the heck you want.

Congratulations, you now have InvinciFish! This fish can eat every single
fish, cannot be eaten by any fish or other kind of sea life (even the Giant
Clam can't hurt you!), and can eat ANYTHING, although not everything will
provide it with nourishment, of course. It won't even get sick from starfish,
sea anemone, or anything else. Plus it can eat sponges and get nourishment
from them. It's like a Great White Shark in that way. Furthermore, I have
NEVER seen its Health go down ever. Unless you try to kill it off on purpose
by not eating, it's never going to die, because even if you can't find fish to
eat, there's always sponges. The ONLY weakness of this fish is that it needs
to be fed frequently, and merely the fact it will eat sponges will let you do
that easily. This fish makes the game too easy. Bottom line: This is, truly,
the closest thing to an invincible fish you can get on this game. If only its
energy didn't decrease...then it truly would be invincible.

And now the guide is nearly done. Now for the thanks.
-Thanks to the creators of this game for making this game.
-Thanks to a certain website for having the Mac version be downloadable (URL
not given due to legal reasons). For the record, I do own a legal copy of the
game, but had to download it because I couldn't find the floppy disks I had to
install it.
-Thanks to me, as usual, for writing this
