This guide will provide tips on how to get all the trophies fast and with
the least stress if you aren't the best of players.
Quick tips for hunting:
Try to rush the high rank, high rank armors have more skills and will
let you steamroll most monsters.
Always eat, this gives you an extra 50 HP. If you still die fast,
make sure you socket in Vit jewels, this will give you ANOTHER 50
HP, and makes even the new Arch Tempers a push over in my opinion.
If you need to pause the game, you can manual do it by putting your
playstation in rest mode. This will disconnect you.
Ok, now to the trophies, no table of contents, just scroll down, they
are in the order they appear in the trophy menu.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conqueror of the New World: Platinum
Unlock all trophies for Monster Hunter: World.
Like most games on the playstation, you unlock this trophy by getting all
the rest. 3 FUn Facts:
1. At the time of my plat, it was at .3
2. Plats don't actually raise your playstation level
3. If you sync your PSN to Sonyrewards.com, YOU CAN GET PSN CREDITS FOR
TROPHIES! Plats are worth 1$, Golds are .1$, and Silvers at .01$.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the New World: Bronze
Earn the right to take on two-star assignments.
Story related, if you beat the game, or want to, you'll get this.
1 star quests are basically little animals, I don't remember there being
too many of these quests before you hit this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing Stops This Commission: Bronze
Earn the right to take on three-star assignments.
Same as above. Rank 2 quests generally have large monsters, but they are
bird and fanged, which you really shouldn't have trouble with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defender of Astera: Bronze
Earn the right to take on four-star assignments.
Same as above, you'll get this if you just follow the story line. Rank 3
monsters are the meatier staples of the series... aka Real Fights.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Into the Deep: Bronze
Earn the right to take on five-star assignments.
Ditto. If I remember correctly, these are just slightly harder monsters,
like the Ratholos, instead of the Rathian... it's still low rank, so it
should be hard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Death Begets Life: Bronze
Successfully guide Zorah Magdaros.
The halfway point of the game. Don't forget the free max potion in the
chest! I'm pretty sure I got this one right... lol. I don't really play
on low rank, so not too sure about the above...
But, they are all story related.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Empress of the Highlands: Bronze
Earn the right to take on seven-star assignments.
Story, again. 6 Star quests are reserved for all the weaker monsters you
faught already on low rank. These are called "Threat 1 monsters".
7 Includes all the harder monsters, again, like rathalos. These "Threat 2".
These notes aren't important, unless you are looking for certain decos,
which aren't required for any trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall: Bronze
Earn the right to take on eight-star assignments.
These are the Elders, which are considered all "Threat 3". Unlike most
story missions, these require annoying sessions of playing "Blue's Clues",
which was a kiddy educational cartoon, where a dog literally put blue
paw prints on things. Get it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Sapphire Star: Silver
Solve the mystery of the Elder Crossing.
Beat the game. Go full damage gear, this fight takes FOREVER! My best time,
sadly, is like 15 minutes with endgame gear :D
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Hunter's Life for Me: Bronze
Complete 50 optional quests.
You should try and do at least each optional quest once, the ones with
"..." in a speach balloon give out special items, usually tools. If you
think you might have trouble with a specific tempered unicorn later on,
I'd recommend doing the one that give you the thunder mantle. (It should
be a high rank Tobi capture).
If you don't care, and just want to speed this up, you can literally just
keep readying up low rank easy quests... like the Great Jaggie, or if
there are any small game hunts.
If you have end game stuff, you can kill a Great Jaggie in a minute with
your eyes closed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
An Inquisitive Mind: Bronze
Complete your first inVEStigation.
InVEStigations, yes, VES, lol, are extra missions you get from breaking
monster parts, playing blue's clues, and safari prizes.
InVEStigations have a limited amount of tries (sometimes less time,
players, and faint limit too), this is the balance out the fact they
give out increased rewards (Tip: If you are looking for gems/plates or
anyother rare item, do inVEStigations with silver/gold rewards).
If you plan on playing this forever, you'll get this. If you don't care
and plan to shelf this game the second you platinum it, you can do this:
Go to the Rotten Vale (or anywhere, really) and just attack Vespa's and
Hortuars, or any small game. Eventually you'll be stacked with super
easy, super fast small game missions.
Or just stock up on Fanged monsters, like Jaggy or Girros.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Franchise Hunter: Bronze
Complete 50 inVEStigations.
Use the tip above to get 50 in a hurry. But again, if you plan to keep
this game, you will no doubt be doing investigations exclusively, outside
of special events... because of the bonus boxes.
Also, investigations are the BEST way to get crowns (assuming that monster
isn't in an event already) as optional/story quests have set sizes that
usually never give out crowns.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step into the Arena: Bronze
Complete your first arena quest.
Surely you can kill one arena monster solo, if you don't have a friend?
A lot of people hate the arena, as you can only use 5 pre set equips, and
ALL MONSTERS ARE SCALED TO MULTIPLAYER! Even if you are solo.
Oh, it's also important that you do these in the gathering hall ONLY. Just
because an optional quest is in an Arena, doesn't make it legit... it
needs to be in the Gathering Hall.
Challenges work too, these are updated, like events.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nowhere to Go but Up: Bronze
Complete 50 arena quests.
At the time of writing this, 2.3% of the people got this, that's extremely
low for a popular game.
2 biggest tips to get 50:
1. Find a friend/random who wants to do all the reg quests. A "B" rank
in all of them nets you a special item. It's very easy to do co-op, and
many people still need this.
2. Wait till an easy challenge comes back. There was a Vespoid challenge
during the last big event (spring, and I imagine summer will be soon). It
was to kill just 30 with a Pukei Pukei in the middle you need to avoid.
You get ballista bolts and all, should take less than 3 minutes.
Otherwise, solo something once and a while, because they may take you
forever, especially if you suck with the new weapons you are forced to
used.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
New World Settler: Bronze
Establish five camps.
I'll be completely honest, I don't know if the starting camp counts, I
think it does, if so, this is a free trophy. If not, I don't care. I never
seen anyone ask this question, and I got this trophy the same day I got
the Palico Gadget one... and I don't think I made it to the 3rd hunt map
before that happened.
The extra camp sites are sometimes alluded to with delivery quests.
If you really need these, join SOS games (you'll need to do a lot of
multiplayer any ways), take a screen shot of the map as most high level
people have all the camps. Load up the game, and just go to that spot.
Forest 4, Desert 4, Coral 2, Vale 2, and last area has 3.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Art of Camouflage: Bronze
Escape the Jagras pack by hiding in some shrubs.
The annoying handler basically tells you how to do this in a very early
story mission.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angling for a Bite: Bronze
Catch your first fish.
Usually in the first forest mission you try, there will be a fishman in
the first area. Perfect place to fish.
I don't fish often, and I forget how... but you can learn! You have
unlimited bait!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mmm, So Tasty!: Bronze
Cook your first well-done steak.
Kill any passive animal, like a Kelbi or those larger meatier things that
walk in packs. Carve them, get raw meat, then pull out the slipt.
Once the song stops and it changes color a bit, hit... circle? I forget,
I haven't cooked since release... either way, if you screw up, you just
need 1, so keep trying!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Living Fossil: Silver
Capture a fish known as "the living fossil."
*TIP* If you are in this game for the long run, complete all of the
fisherman's quests before this... while you can still get this trophy
without doing that, doing it when you have the quest will net you a free
GOLDEN TICKET.
This creature is found in the small cave on the lower level of the Rotten
Vale. It's the cave close to Odoggo's nest, the one you need to crawl to
get to? It has a honey, a bunch of flash/bait bugs, a pig, and usually
cats (they give you the plunder tool).
I also highly recommend searching for this creature in expeditions and
while also going for the brisle crane, as they are both in this area.
You need to keep checking the back, to the left in the water, past the
cats (or where they would be). There will usually be 3 gold fish in there,
you need to fish them out first because they usually grab the bait first.
This isn't bad, as it gives you practice. If the white pale fish isn't
there, you need to quit and return. There is also bait bugs where the pig
is, incase your broke ass forgot them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Snuggles for All: Silver
Capture a fluffy, snuggly creature.
Until you get this trophy, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU HAVE ON THE GHILLIE
mantle everytime you enter either the forest or the desert.
Also, just like above, if you wait till the field researcher's final
request (it's the chick who asks you for ants in the desert) it will
reward you with a free Golden Ticket. Again, this isn't needed for the
trophy.
This is a white fluffy bird that will sit on top of the large meaty
non violent dinos you get raw meat from.
At the start of either the forst or desert, they are there, if you see
white or hear chirping, pop the mantle on, and enjoy your snuggles <3.
Remember, as with the above first, and below, these lil guys aren't
always there. But, unlike the fish, this one isn't hard to get by
normally playing missions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bristles for All: Silver
Capture a stiff, bristly creature.
This creature is found in the small cave on the lower level of the Rotten
Vale. It's the cave close to Odoggo's nest, the one you need to crawl to
get to? It has a honey, a bunch of flash/bait bugs, a pig, and usually
cats (they give you the plunder tool).
I also highly recommend searching for this creature in expeditions and
while also going for the fossil fish, as they are both in this area.
I got these back to back (lucky?). I'd also take the Ghille Mantle as
just like Snuggles, it will jump away and run!
Oh yea, this black bird will be on the Mosswine piggy in the cave. Before
even climbing the ledge, I'd equip the mantle. I heard this can be on the
other pig on the above level of the Vale, but as this close to the fish,
two birds one stone?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rainbow Bright: Silver
Capture a creature that glitters like a rainbow.
I heard this can be found in the desert leading up to the Rathian's
nest... but never seen it.
I found him twice in the forest. IT HAS TO BE NIGHT. Do I have any idea
how the day/night cycle works? Nope.
1st area, lets say you are leaving the camp site to the north into the
big open area, to the right (or east) you'll see a path. The beetle will
be in this first side path (not the one with the two mining outcrops, I
believe this path has those resource point flowers).
If you are entering this path, looking straight into it, it will be on
a rock towards the end, to the right (or south).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commission Work: Bronze
Obtain 100,000 research points.
This is a total amount, unlike the next trophy.
Fighting monsters, collecting stuff with your net, paw prints, and
bounties all give research points. You should be getting this before
you get all the other trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bourgeois Hunter: Bronze
Possess 1,000,000 zenny.
Needs to be held. Make sure you use your daily free vouchers on big money
hunts. Some end game inVEStigates can give more than 100,000!
If you are quiting this game after platinum, you can simply sell off all
your items, they sell for a decent price.
If you aren't, but still want this trophy, you can save the game, sell
everything, then exit the game the second the trophy dings.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Impregnable Defense: Bronze
Obtain five highly rare pieces of armor.
Rarity 8 for the trophy. Mostly elder dragon items. If you don't feel like
farming them, you can use the Plunder Tool to speed this up (this tool
is found in the rotten vale's cave where the fish/crane are).
If you plan on making it to Lv100, you should get this no problem.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power is Everything: Bronze
Obtain five highly rare weapons.
Same as above, just a bit harder as you need to forge a couple or many
previous weapons. Still shouldn't be hard if you plan on beating the
game.
This was one of the last trophies I got, as I didn't really play with
builds till I 100%'s this game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Movin' On Up: Bronze
Move into an upgraded room.
At some point, you can talk to your house keeper cat and an option will
be to move to a bigger room. That's it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
First Friends: Bronze
Befriend your first Tailraider.
Always have your cat with you, if it talks to a random cat found in the
field that belongs to a friend (friend as in you have their guild card),
you gots a Tail raider!
If you are loser POS with no friends (sorry :D) or no net, you can still
get this by completely side missions for cats already on the maps. These
net you new tools too...
I mentioned the Plunder blade before, you go to the cave you need to
crawl through at the bottom level of the Vale, go there near the water.
Your cat will see a cat, eventually you'll need to drop raw meat to
lure it out, and they'll talk. Leave the level, and they should be
there, and your cat will recruit them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bosom Buddies: Bronze
Become fully proficient with any Palico Gadget.
You start with that Wasp thing... if you don't change it, you should
get this way before you finish the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monster Ph.D.: Silver
Research everything about almost every monster.
As long as you are getting research points from a monster (killing, cap,
prints, finding, and breaking parts) you will eventually level up your
meter. This isn't the meter ingame you are worried about, it's the
meter in your notes.
While some monsters leave less tracks, you can always follow them around.
Make sure you talk to the lead researcher to update these meters.
*As of the last update, YOU NO LONGER NEED the newer monsters... at the
time of writing this, that's basically just Luna, Djo, and Kulve.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Temper Temper: Bronze
Hunt your first tempered monster.
Tempered monsters are purple rank 9 quests. If you plan on finishing the
story, or getting to level 100, you have to kill 3 tempered monsters.
Tempered beast sport a slight increased HP pool and damage. Not too much
if you aren't fighting elders or some threat 2 monsters (black diablos).
Read the next trophy for more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indomitable: Silver
Hunt 50 tempered monsters.
Biggest problem is actually starting off the Tempered chain. 2 ways to
go about this... but before I do, the newest version of the game lets you
get Tempered inVEStigations off of breaking parts... prior, it was only
possible to get more from tracks, BLUE tracks.
1. While you are on expeditions, you will randomly find blue tracks,
pick them up and you might randomly get a tempered quest. During your
first tempered quest, especially if it's somelike like a Barroth, Rado,
or Diablo... they are slow and leave lots of tracks. Once you have a
decent amount, you'll never run out.
Then you can just try harder ones, or just spam easy quests. I'd avoid
trying to "print" hunt the Mud fish... they are all the lengthy pick ups.
or 2. You will eventually unlock missions with tempered monsters, I know
there is an optional quest with Vaal, and many events now and then with
2 to 3 in a single mission. However, I would stick to inVEStigations, and
try to focus on Elder Dragons (if you can kill them) and black Diablos,
as these monsters are the hardest to get crowns for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Giant Crown Collector: Silver
Obtain a giant crown for 10 or more monsters in your hunting log.
Scroll down to the last giant crown trophy for tips...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giant Crown Master: Gold
Obtain a giant crown for almost every monster in your hunting log.
Ok, this will most likely be the last trophies you get... so here are
tips.
1. Small monsters are consider 25% smaller than normal size.
2. A large crown I believe is 25%. It MOST be gold. They give out silver
big crowns, which will net you ONLY the 1st single bronze trophy.
3. If there are no events that give crowns, ALWAYS do inVEStigations, as
they are random, unlike optionals, which give out the same size.
4. When you are trying to figure out which inVEStigation will give a
crown (it's random) it's seems the more silver/gold boxes the hunt has,
the better... as well as the number of tries. 3 Tries = Best, 5 is ok,
and I've heard you shouldn't even try an inVEStigation with 8 tries.
5. The above is void if they are tempered, however, I'd still stick with
the 3's first.
6. Once you hunt something enough times, you'll start to notice what is
big, and what is not. I personally didn't do this, but you can size up
monsters with the ghillie suit, shock traps, and in the case with elders,
they are usually passive till you hit them.
7. In the case you are in a multi-hunt, and you killed the monster you
need, and don't need the other and don't care about the rewards, you can
return to base (the option that doesn't reset your items pre hunt) and
it will still work.
8. "Background" monsters have a very good chance to be a small/big size,
and usually have less than normal health. These are the extra large
monster/s that aren't a target, but still there.
Ok, use those tips. Good news? The good news is that right now, this
game has a bunch of events (which should be up every now and then, and
all of them during the seasonal events... the last spring event had 3
pages of events!) So as of right now, here are the quests that have
good or 100% chance of crowning (lol).
-The 5 "music" named events. One for each area:
The Forest has Jaggy, Pukie, Tobi, Anja*, Rath*
Desert: Kulu, Mud Fish, Barroth, Rathian*, Diablos*
Coral: Tzi, Paulomalu, Pink Rath, Legy*
Vale: Girros, Odoggo, Rado, Bagel*
Edler: Dogo, Uraghan, Lava Fish, Blue Rath*
Any of the monsters with stars, means they aren't on the map till you
kill something first as this game only allows three large monsters on the
map at once.
While these missions do not give auto crowns, the chance is a lot higher...
Plus, the monsters have less health.
-There is an event with the Kulu in an arena type mission (not the actual
gathering hall arena) which gives you items for his head (goofie). This
will ALWAYS have a large crown.
-The Street fighter V event in the actual arena features AN EXTREMELY
large barroth for a large crown.
-The event for some horizon dawn, the mission is called proving grounds
or something... this will always have a large crown Anja.
-The megaman event will always spawn a lil odoggo... Rush for blood I
think it's called.
-During the Luna quest-line (free add on), I'm pretty sure the Teo is
always a large crown.
Always check updates, they have been adding these in monthly.
*D-jo/Luna ARE NOT required for this trophy.
**Zorah/Xeno/Kulva Torath ALWAYS spawn at the same size, so no need to
worry about them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Capture Novice: Bronze
Capture your first monster.
Capuring cuts the end timer by 2/3's and the sometimes the fight by a 1/3.
First step: Always get a track, so you can see the skull icon. If you
don't, you'll have to see them limp (you can fire dung to do this if you
are impatient).
Next, you need to have a trap... to make a trap you need to combined...
A thunder bug and a trap tool (recommended)
or
A web + ivy, for a net, then net and trap tool
Always carry extra, or both (you'll need to combined them in the field).
Then you need sleep bombs, parashroom and a sleep herb (the desert as an
area where both are close and easy to find).
Now, once you get the monster to roughly 30%, the skull icon will appear...
you can be a pro and trap it ASAP, or wait till it goes it's nest. Some
times a monter will just fly off when you set it, remember this if you
only have one (it's why I say carry a back up).
Now you can either sleep bomb before you trap them (it wears off, heard it
was a minute) or when they are trapped. It takes 2 bombs. Both have their
ups and downs.
Few things:
1. Anja (and possibly Rado & Urghan, but DEFLY Anja) sometimes limps
and won't go to sleep. Always attack him a little bit after you see
the skull symbol.
2. Anja, Mud Fish, and Barroth can't be captured on the spot where
they sleep, you must place the trap on flat land and lure them.
3. Don't let monster's sleep too much, they can actually gain enough
health back to where they aren't showing the skull any more.
4. D-Jo can attack you while in a pitfall.
5. You can't trap Elders or Unicorns.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Capture Pro: Silver
Capture 50 monsters.
Same as above, just more. Oh, yea, you can only have one trap on the
map at a time, if the monster flies away, you can manually destroy it.
If you trap a monster, you need to wait till it vanishes till you can
use another one.
Lastly, while you can trap people in non-gathering hall arena quests,
monsters leave no tracks (no skull icon) and no nest (so no limping away).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Elderslayer: Bronze
Slay 50 elder dragons.
You'll get this in the long run... especially during crown hunting.
If you don't care about crowns, have trouble with elders, and just
want this trophy, there is an optional quest on low rank with two
Kirins.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monster Slayer: Bronze
Hunt 100 large monsters.
Capturing counts. If by some odd chance you didn't get this, or the next
trophy by the time you are mopping up everything, do into low rank exped
with good attack gear and a fortify gem. Die twice on purpose, then
drink a demon drink.
Overkill.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monster Hunter: Silver
Hunt 500 large monsters.
Same, you really should get this before you trade this game in if you
are attempting all these other trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Help!: Bronze
Fire an SOS flare for the first time.
Easy trophy, just fire an SOS flare from the option button menu.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I Am the Reinforcements: Bronze
Respond to an SOS flare, and help complete 10 quests.
Be online, and help 10 people who fired their flares. You can filter
certain monsters and have some jolly co-op!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hunters United: Bronze
Complete a quest via multiplayer.
SOS's count, but this is easier and smoother if you have friends or a
guild.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hunters United Forever: Bronze
Complete 100 quests via multiplayer.
I though I'd have to grind this. If you really want to grind this, find
a Kulve Taroth room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spreading the Word: Bronze
Collect over 50 Guild Cards.
When match making, you'll often be dumped in a room with a few people,
select the guild card option, hit triangle to select all, and send.
Usually folks will send you one back, I used to do this in every mission
to, at the start fast, and had decent odds.
If you PSN me, I will personally give you my bad ass card. My user name for
pretty much anything is Vesperas, no numbers, symbols, etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Established Hunter: Bronze
Reach hunter rank 100.
The game locks your level till you beat certain monsters. After the
main game, you'll need to do two addition hunts.
1. Tempered Double Bagel: Bring dung for when they both show up. If you
aren't doing long range (like me), ONLY attack it after it does a weird
dumbass looking charge. If he is angry (red eye symbol), his bombs will
blow up ASAP, so you can risk it, or go to the other one. If you have
trouble with these guys, don't forget they have LOW DEFENSE and can
be trapped multiple times. Also, flashbugs are also very good.
2. I think that's HR39, at hunter rank 49, you'll need to kill a
Tempered Kirin. If you have trouble, take lots of lightning resist (and
the thunder mantle). Hit for the horn, two attacks MAX, never get
greedy. Once he limps, he'll somehow pance up vines to Legy's nest. Take
the biggest bombs you have and a farcaster. Bomb him, then bitch out,
grab more, he'll be sleepy again, repeat :D
