Introduction
--=*=--=*=--=*=--=*=--
So after countless questions regarding each of the Biometals and their
abilities, I've decided to write a Biometal Guide as well. Hopefully this will
get rid of some of the repeat questions clogging the ZX board. Just a heads-up,
there'll be a few spoilers, but not many.

Biometal Basics
--=*=--=*=--=*=--=*=--
A Biometal is a fragment of data containing the powers and consciousness of
several heroes from the past (AKA Reploids from the MMZ series). Each Biometal
is seperated into two parts and is obtained through beating the corresponding
Pseudoroid. You are ranked on a level of 1 to 4 (with 4 being the best, and one
being the worst) depending on how many times you hit a boss's weak point. The
more times you hit it, the lower your rank.
The elemental triangle from the MMZ series stays intact in ZX, thunder > flame,
flame > ice, ice > thunder. The Overdrive Invoke System (OIS) adds an elemental
charge to your attack depending on what Biometal you're using. A green bar
appears beside your health. The size of the bar is directly linked to what
level finish you recieved on a boss, so it's important, but not necessary, to
get a high level finish. Each Biometal has eight levels, four for the first
half, and four for the second half.
There are two ways to increase the level of a damaged Biometal:
1) Repair it in Fleuve's lab with Energy Crystals.
2) Wait for bosses to respawn to try and defeat them for a better rank.

Yup, it's the part you've all been waiting for. Hopefully I'll get the base
damage each attack makes in here later.

Model X
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
How to obtain: Automatically obtained after the intro.
Main Weapon: Buster Shot
Sub Weapon : N/A
Element: None
OIS Abilities: N/A
Touch Screen Function: None
Biometal Rundown: It's pretty basic, but it gets the job done. No need to get
up close and personal with Model X. Long-range tactics is where it's at. Deals
decent damage. It's ability to save a second charge shot is especially useful.
It would have been nice if they had added a map since this Biometal doesn't use
the bottom screen for anything. Too bad you lose it early on in the game.
Luckily, you can keep it once you complete the story with both Vent and Aile.
My Rating: *****

Model ZX
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
How to obtain: Model Z fuses with Model X after it's damaged in battle.
Main Weapon: Z-Saber
Sub Weapon: Buster Shot
Element: None
OIS Abilties: N/A
Touch Screen Function: None
Biometal Rundown: Yay! This Biometal is modeled after everyone's favorite red
hero (No, not Protoman)! As the title of the game suggests, Model ZX will most
likely be your main combat Biometal. Typical Zero slashing action with the
Z-saber. There's the triple slash combo, a charge slash and one move where you
jump and spin slash several times. The Buster has the strength of Model X's
second shot. Again, another Biometal without a second screen function.
My Rating: ****
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Model HX
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
How to obtain: 1st- Defeat Hivolt, 2nd- Defeat Hurricaune
Main Weapon: Twin Saber 1
Sub Weapon: Twin Saber 2
Element: Thunder
OIS Abilites: 1st half- Wind Ball , 2nd half- Tornado (hold up)
Touch Screen Function: Enemy Analyzer
Biometal Rundown: The Biometal of Wind, Model HX. This double saber-toting
Biometal is probably the most useful one in the game. It has a decent attack
power - pressing main, sub, main activates a triple slash move - and it's
aerial manuverability is awesome. In addition to the main ground dash, HX can
also dash in the air either left or right, or up. It also has a hover so you
can decend down spike ridden paths with ease, or make long jumps. It's touch
screen function, Enemy Analyzer detects the location of the Biometal in
Psuedoroids.
My Rating: *****

Model LX
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
How to obtain: 1st- Defeat Lurerre, 2nd- Defeat Leganchor
Main Weapon: Halberd
Sub Weapon: N/A
Element: Ice
OIS Abitlities: 1st half- Ice Block, 2nd half- Ice Dragon (hold up)
Touch Screen Function: Item Scanner
Biometal Rundown: Model LX excellent in water. Unfortunatly, everywhere else it
falls short. The only Area you really need to use it in is L. The Item Scanner
is pretty useless unless unless you're doing those "Find my <insert item here>"
missions or looking for the disks. I can't say much on it at the moment, since
I don't use it much, I'll have to experiment more. The dragon is pretty though.

Model FX
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
How to obtain: 1st- Defeat Fistleo, 2nd- Defeat Flammole
Main Weapon: Buster Cannon 1
Sub Weapon: Buster Cannon 2
Element: Flame
OIS Abilities: 1st half- Fire Blast, 2nd half- Flame Wave (hold down)
Touch Screen Function: Buster Edit (Customizable through the pause menu)
Biometal Rundown: Model FX SMASH! FX is probably one of the underappreciated
Biometals. I know it was for me until I learned to utilize the Buster Edit
function. It's great for enemy-littered areas, and an upwards path plus OIS
absolutely murders Lurerre and Leganchor. It can also smash blocks to unlock
path.
My Rating: ****
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Model PX
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
How to obtain: 1st- Defeat Purprill, 2nd- Defeat Protectus
Main Weapon: Kunai
Subweapon: N/A
Element: None
OIS Abilites: Shadow Dash (OIS on), Giant Shuriken, Shield (hold up)
Touch Screen Function: Radar Scope
Biometal Rundown: Ninjas, thousands of them! Okay, so it's only one. Model PX
can hang from ceilings and rain hundreds of kunai on foes. Great rapid fire
action. The shield isn't particulary useful. Shadow Dash is good is you're
feeling lazy. Radar Scope finds hidden paths that either hold items or are a
safer route through an area. PX lacks an upper move, so you're screwed if
something attacks from above. It's fun running around the residential areas
like Batman though (NaNaNaNaNa! X3)
My Rating: ***
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Model OX
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
How to Obtain: Defeat Omega (N-1), complete the Destroy Model W mission, and
take the Mysterious Rock - picked up beyond the doors containing the MMZ3 and 4
bosses - to Fleuve. YOU CANNOT GET OX ON EASY MODE!!!
Main Weapon: Z-Saber
Sub Weapon: Buster Shot
OIS Abilities: Alot. Regular buster shots don't have to be charged, if you hold
down while firing a buster makes you hit the ground and shoot up mini-boulders,
Jump slash automatically goes into the rolling spin and sends off shockwaves
(ice damage), down + slash makes a thunder-based attack, up + slash is a rising
fire-based attack.
Touch Screen Function: None
Biometal Rundown: Cheapest.Biometal.EVAR! That's why you can only get it after
clearing the game. Model OX is Zero's original body. It'll probably be used to
go annihilate the looping boss respawns or Serpant. Basicallly, it just for fun.
My Rating: *****

FAQ within the FAQ
--=*=--=*=--=*=--=*=--
There shouldn't be anything here yet, but I know one that's gonna come up.
Q: What do I beat <insert boss name here> with a Lv 4 Finish?
A: Don't ask me, there's already a Boss FAQ up, and I think someone's writing a
guide specifically for this reason.
More to come soon... (I hope not)

Contact me via email (

title otherwise it gets deleted. I'll most likely be on the ZX board as well.
Thanks to...
- Alex Mattson for pointing out the OX buster thing, I really didn't play
around with it much.
- Various people whom informed me I forgot HX's triple attack
- Capcom, for making another game I can spend countless hours of my life on.

- My poor DS which suffered through many hours of gameplay with a broken hinge.
