Hiroaki Hanyu is lost. He's about to graduate from "junior college,"
and he doesn't know what to do with the rest of his life. He has no
ambition, no goals, no dreams. Leaving his future up to chance is
nothing new, and in fact, works out rather well. You see, Hiroaki has
always been blessed with extremely good luck; everything seems to go
his way. But now, his luck seems to be growing, even affecting the
other people in his life. How will he use this gift? Should he?
Runaway City is a click-and-click adventure game. The interface for
the game is simple. Any characters you're talking to will appear on
the screen, along with a text box containing dialogue and your personal
thoughts. You decide on Hiroaki's actions through a menu. By making
the right choices, you advance the story and guide Hiroaki towards
his ultimate destiny.

Hiroaki Hanyu

He's your typical aimless slacker: about to graduate from school, no
future plans, and no idea what he wants out of life. Fortunately,
he's always had luck on his side, and he'll take full advantage of it,
especially with the ladies.
Katsuhiko Hanyu

Hiroaki's father, Katsuhiko owns his own video game company. He's
really worried about his son's future, and never misses an opportunity
to lecture him.
Rin Watanabe
------------
Rin's a classmate of Hiroaki's. They share an interest in video
games, so they're pretty good friends. Actually, Rin has more than a
passing interest; she spends most of her time in the arcade and is
known as one of the best gamers in the country.
Megumi Fujisawa
---------------
Megumi also goes to Hiroaki's school, but she's a year younger. She's
incredibly impulsive and loves to manipulate people in going along
with her wild schemes. With her extreme cuteness, she usually has no
problem with that!
Sayaka Suga

Sayaka is another girl from Hiroaki's class, but he doesn't know her
that well. She's studious, and extremely shy, so he never really
noticed her. It seems she has a crush on him, though...
Yume Togawa

Yet another girl from the Kyoai Junior College. She's a little
demanding and impetulant, but she seems pretty nice. Nice to everyone
she's not related to that is...
Nene Togawa

Yume's little sister, Nene is adorable, but she's absolutely terrified
of, seemingly, everything. She has a tough time just exchanging a few
sentences with another person. What makes her so frightened?
Kana Kurumide

This classmate of Hiroaki's is very kind, but there are rumors
surrounding her reputation. Well, her idol is a porn star...
Choko Iijima

Katsuhiko has been dating Choko for a while. She's not just a pretty
face, though, she's the president of a multinational corporation. For
someone so successful, she has a strong belief in the power of luck.
Mariko Iijima

Mariko's is Choko's daughter. Up to now, she's been a good girl, but
lately she's been rebelling. Most of her time is spent in bars or
clubs with people of questionable character. Ultimately, its up to
Hiroaki to help her.
Yuki Aizawa

Hiroaki doesn't seem to know this girl, but she sure seems to know
him! She shows up at the worst times and always flashes anger towards
our hero. What is her problem?
Fujiko ?????

Hiroaki's "girlfriend", although they don't have an exclusive
relationship by any means. In fact, she's entirely supported by gifts
leeched off of her other boyfriends. Great sex, no strings, sounds good.
Hiromi Sasaki

Hiromi owns a bar; its popular mostly because of her alluring looks
and personality. She really knows how to sexily tease her male
customers and especially enjoys picking on Hiroaki.

In this walkthrough I'm only including the menu steps necessary to
move the story along. You see, in this portion of the game(i.e. the
first 90%) the choices you make won't have an affect on the
ending(there's only one good ending). You can't really miss any
action or lose the game. Think of this more as a speed guide than a
necessary tool for beating the game.
Most of the menus will have additional options, such as LOOK, which
you almost never have to do. If you want to go through these steps,
which you might(just for completeness), you should do them ~before~
the options I tell you to take. Once you follow my directions, the
story will move on whether you like it or not.
I include location markers; these are just to make it easier to know
what's supposed to be happening. Enjoy!
