SHIELD is VERY simple to train IF you know what to do. The lower level of the
barracks has dummies that hit you back. go to the back room and gather (at
least) 8 dummies, and have them form a box around you. You can either just let
your HP fall to 0 and come back and repeat, OR you can buy Big Health Potions
and drink them when your HP nears 15. This is the fastest and easiest way to
train Shield up.
Train with : any shield
FENCING is a good skill to learn because it does Light-Medium damage and is
VERY fast at low str, making it ideal for duelers and barracks raiders.
Train with : Rapier
LONG SWORD is the most common warrior skill, but is quite hard to gain skill
with as a traveler. Sabres are slow at 32str, so patience is required, but they
payoff is worth all the effort.
Train with : Sabre
SHORT SWORD is the skill of choice for barracks raiders because of their high
speed at low str and abundance of good special short swords. With VERY HARD
training, 100% skill can be reached within 1 whole day of training.
Train with : Short Sword
AXE ATTACK is a very heavy, high damage skill. The Battle Axe is a great weapon
for high level players. This skill is quite easy to train early on because of
the Light Axe's low str for a full speed swing.
Train with : Light Axe
ARCHERY is the nightmare of many mages. A pure barracks raider is also a good
archer to nullify mages. This skill is VERY expensive to train, needing over
15k worth of arrows to reach 100% skill. This skill has no special bows except
for the rare Dark Elf Bow.
Train with : Short Bow
HAMMER is the newest, and most heavy-duty skill of them all. High level
warriors wield giant war hammers that can greatly deplete the Endurance on
enemy armor. The 2 hammers available are mostly for high level warriors.
Train with : Hammer
~~~~~MAGE SKILLS~~~~~
MAGIC is the basis for a good mage. 100% magic skill (or MS) allows mages to
cast up to 36% faster than normal. Summoned creatures depend on MS:
10%+ Slimes
20%+ Ants
30%+ Snakes
40%+ Orcs
50%+ Skeletons
60%+ Clay Golems
70%+ Stone Golems
80%+ Magic Orcs
90%+ Helhounds
100% Cyclops
The easiest way to train MS to 100% is to cast Magic Missle(8MP) over and over.
100% MS is not "necessary" for a good mage, but is an EXTREMELY helpful tool.
Train with : Magic Missle(8MP)
~~~~~MISC. SKILLS~~~~~
MAGIC RESIST is a must have skill for ALL characters. The best suggestion is to
buy a MR+(40+ works really well) shield or peice of armor and go to the Farm as
a CITIZEN and go to a MR Party (which is a group of mages that cast energy bolt
into a crowd, but not doing any damage).
Some MR parties will only allow mages to participate, in thi case, you are out
of luck, but Farms are covered in MR parties in most cases.
With a MR+40 shield and a current MR skill of 10 as my example, you would block
spells as if you had 50% MR, but gain skill as if you had 10% skill. So as time
goes on, your MR skill will go up and be higher then what it really is, making
it really easy to gain skill.
NOTE : 100% MAGIC RESIST DOES NOT ENSURE 100% PROTECTION FROM SPELLS!!!
POWERFUL MAGES CAN STILL OWN YOU, HOWEVER, SUMMONED MONSTERS AND WEAKER MAGES
ARE NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
Train With : MR+ Shield or armor
PRETEND CORPSE is a skill that has no DIRECT purpose; you cant make anything
with it, you cant kill anything with it, but you CAN have a fool-proof escape
from monsters and stupid players. You use the skill, you must click on it in
the skill menu. You can only use the skill when at least 1 square away from
another player or creature.
Train with : Skill Menu
POISON RESIST is a skill that is usually trained by Barracks Raiders. Poison
Resist lowers the chance of being poisoned and the length that poison lasts.
However, 100% poison Resist does not ensure complete protection against poison.
To train it, have a friend hit you with a Poisoning dagger over and over.
Train with : Poisoning dagger
ALCHEMY is the skill used for making potions. You need certain ingredients to
make each potion. All the potion recipies can be found in the Helbreath README
file..... or right here =)
Train With : Alchemy Bowl
Potion Name Ingredients Needed Skill
Health potion 1 slime jelly 20
1 ants leg,
1 snake tongue
Mana potion 1 slime jelly 20
1 ants antenna
1 snake skin
Q. What is "rep"
A. Rep is short for Reputation. When you "rep" someone, you give them a good
evaluation as a person. This good evaluation gives that character a
fighting advantage over characters with negative rep. Also, For every 10
rep you receive, you get +1 damage on Righteous weapons, up to a Max of
100 rep.
Q. Why isnt my (your skill here) going up?
A. Each skill has a stat that is associated with it; Dex and Short Sword,
Long Sword, Axe Attack, Archery, Hammer, Fencing, Shield, Mag and Magic,
Level and Magic Resist. Your max skill equals that stat times 2. :
