-Who should be reading this FAQ?- #The NoWorries Contract to Greatness

I put this in every faq I've ever written, and it goes something along the
lines like this. By writing this, I commit to you the reader that I will bring
to you not only my vastness of knowledge but do it with a sense of humour. I
understand it's easy to get bogged down in detail as well as a mush of opinion
but I strive to bring you something more than just a guide to greatness.
So who should be reading this? Anyone wanting to do Blackrock Mountain

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crafting is an issue. For a couple decks, I've actually grouped be rarity
instead of the usual mana cost way of grouping. For others, I try to list
other options that can be used. The overwhelming best option here unlike
Frostmage is Mill-Druid. Are there other options, like always, I'm sure
there are. Feel free to experiment and I always welcome advice and suggestions
and my email is at the bottom of the guide.

   So let's do this

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Grim Guzzler

   2x Innervate
   2x Naturalize
   2x Wild Growth
   2x Doomsayer
   2x Healing Touch
   2x Emperor Cobra
   2x Poison Seeds
   2x Swipe
   2x Starfall
   1x Feugen
   2x Sludge Belcher
   1x Stalagg
   2x Mech-Bear-Cat
   1x Sylvanas
   2x Ironbark Protec
   1x KT, Sneed's, Ysera

This guy is quite fun to be honest and sure there are a few legendaries
here but the thing is that with the exception of the free ones (KT, FS, and
Belchers) everything can be replaced with what big ass things you might have.
For instance Boulderfists are fine.

The goal here if you look is that half the deck deals with his stuff and
the other half is for winning. Just don't run anything with battlecry except
Deathwing and frankly you'll be just fine

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Emperor Thaurissan

   2x Innervate
   2x Claw
   2x Naturalize
   2x Wild Growth
   2x Wrath
   2x Crazed Alchemist
   2x Youthful Brew
   2x Healing Touch
   2x Coldlight Oracle
   1x ERF
   2x Grove Tender
   2x Bite
   2x Ancient Brewmaster
   2x Keeper of the Grove
   2x Antique Healbot
   1x Tree of Life

So we're running mill Druid, frankly the best option and the most
reliable. Crazed Alchemist is to make his wife a 1/3 because a 3/1 is just
obnoxious. The difficulty of the match is how quickly that happens. Keepers
are for silencing Abominations mostly though unstable Ghouls aren't bad
either. That being said, try to bounce your Coldlights and that will seal
victory. The Tree of Life is extremely important here as it will tend to heal
for 20+ health so there really isn't a sub. The Earthen in case your wondering
is to heal is wife from ambient explosions if you can't silence all the
naughty deathrattles

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Dark Iron Arena

   2x Innervate
   2x Wild Growth
   1x Thalnos
   2x Doomsayer
   2x Acolyte
   2x Alarm o Bot
   1x BGH
   2x Swipe
   2x Nourish
   Feug and Stall
   1x Thaurissan
   1x Hogger and Sylvanas
   2x Mech Bear Cat
   2x Ancient of Lore
   2x Ironbark
   1x KT, Sneed's, and Ysera

To fight Legendaries, I deploy Legendaries. Is there another option,
maybe, but him starting with so much mana is very tough. So let's explore a
bit:

Acolytes can deal with the crowd easily and draw cards. Thalnos is a cycle
(so anything works in it's place fro card draw). Doomsayer is a nice catch
up mechanic, and Alarm o Bots can bring us back into it by getting those
expensive cards out cheaper. Two BGH could be ran, but really, it's just
tough and you don't want to repeat this much at all because the dialogue.

Similar to the Guzzler, you can swap cards you don't have with large free
alternatives. Boulderfist isn't as good as Sneed's but if you're tight on
crafting it can work. Hell Volcanic Lumberer could work I just didn't have it
unlocked yet as it wasn't available at this juncture.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Garr

I used my ranked Priest deck. He's quite easy if you do one thing: Mass
Dispel. Frankly Circle of Healing is also very helpful. Those two things make
this guy an Absolute joke as even if the things blow up, they're silenced so
who cares. Do what you want =) just make sure to have Mass Dispel and Circle

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Baron Geddon

Well, 50 armor and 50 life combined with 10 damage shots hurts. So once
again I ask Jaina to Frost-Mage his ass and welp it worked out fairly well.
Don't ask for cheap subs because whoa I have no idea but I guess I'll
experiment a bit to come up with some alternatives but frankly he's pretty
tough and not fun so don't expect much.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Firelord

Once again we deploy Mill-Druid because... well because

We need 2x of Innervate, Claw, Naturalize, Wild Growth, Wrath, both Brew
Masters, Healing Touch, Coldlight Oracle, Grove Tender, Poison Seeds and Star
Fall, Keeper, and Antique Healbot. 1x of Tree of Life and MCT

The reason is simple: There aren't many decks that gain as much life as
this one and to deal with an onslaught of 3/3's followed up with 7 molten
giants is BAD NEWS. Other than that, try to take him from 20 to 0 in one turn
to get to Ragnaros (unlikely) but don't get him between 10 and 15 health
otherwise the hammer falls and the board is filling with Moltens. Try to
hang onto a Poison Seeds for this reason. Tree of Life when you need to, and
getting an Oracle back into your hand for the final card draw punch is very
helpful (like 8-9-10 damage is a nice ending). Don't cycle the Wrath or Wild
Growth because you will run out of cards too.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Highlord Omokk

This guy pretty much screams to avoid playing minions. I'm sure there are
other decks to go with but here I've decided to stick to Mill-Druid as it
works rather well.

2x Innervate, Naturalize, Wild Growth, Wrath, Youthful Brew, Healing
Touch, Poison Seeds, Swipe, Ancient Brew, Antique Healbot
2x Oracle, Grove Tender, and Starfall
1x Feugen, Stalagg, Thaurissan, and Tree of Life

Pretty standard stuff; don't leave your Oracles vulnerable (bounce them)
and Thaurissan is good even for one turn (timing him with another creature is
a good strategy). Feugen and Stalagg give the powerful Thaddius even if it's
just for one attack.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General Drakkisath

In normal mode, this isn't too tough. However, once he gains two mana
crystals and we are reduced to one then things are much more difficult. There
is one easy gimmick: He uses mindgames so there's something to that as both
Doomsayer and Majordomo can be very favorable steals as the latter seals
victory for you and the Doomsayer is a free board clear. Here's what I went
with

   2x Resurrect
   2x Doomsayer
   1x Recombobulator
   1x BGH
   2x Coldlight Oracle
   2x Mind Control Tech
   1x Baron Rivendare
   1x Enhance o Mechano
   1x Hemit Nesingwary
   1x Lightbomb (two is better)
   2x Piloted Sky Golem
   2x Sunwalker
   1x Sylvanas Windrunner
   2x Force Tank Max
1x KT, Ragnaros, Sneed's, Alex, Majordomo, Mekgineer, Onyxia (Big things)

As we get only one play a turn, we need to maximize our turns. Resurrect
can be huge by reviving any number of huge minions. The cheaper minions are
both favorable steals and can turn the game for us as Recombobulator can
"heal" our big guys and MCT steals obviously. Oracles aren't nearly as
strong but serve more as a back up strategy as he typically runs pretty low
on cards. Hemit Nesingwary is actually helpful here because he runs core
hounds (and I have one). Basically we need big things and preferably big
things that have immediate impact or a deathrattle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rend Blackhand

This guy gets buffed up minions so we call upon a modified freeze mage
for maximum damage. Sorted for you:

2x Ice Lance, Mirror Image, Explosive Sheep, Kobold Geomancer, Arcane
Intellect, Frost Nova, Fireball, and Flamestrike
   2x Azure Drake and Blizzard
2x Doomsayer, Iceblock, Molten Giant, and 1x BGH
   1x Thalnos, Thaurissan, and Antonidas

Kobolds buff Blizzard into a better lethal, Explosive Sheep helps to
control the board. Other than that, same ol same ol. He's not too hard. The
Thalnos isn't completely necesary. Antonidas kinda is. As for the Epics, you
don't have to have Moltens but the others help a bit.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Razorgore the Untamed

Razorgore is outrageously difficult if you let things get out of control.
Amazingly, Mill Druid is unfavorable here as it cannot deal with the board
very well and right away. Here, Mill-Rogue becomes much better.

2x Backstab, Sap, Gang Up, and Vanish
2x Shadowstep, Ironbeak Owl, Youthful Brew, Ancient Brew, Spellbreaker,
and Antique Healbot
   2x Preparation and Doomsayer
2x Crazed Alchemist, Oracle, and MCT

No legendaries here actually, but the deck will work. Gang Up works well
on Oracles or Healbots depending on your situation, and the Silences and Alch
are good at taking care of the eggs. Prep into Vanish clears the board nicely
as does Doomsayer. That's about it, not much else to say.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vaelastrasz the Corrupt

And Blizzard throws a mill deck at us. It's tough, but luckily our best
answer here is to counter with Mill Druid though twisted slightly as Oracles
among other cards are completely unnecessary here.

   2x Innervate
   2x Claw
   2x Naturalize
   2x Wild Growth
   2x Wrath
   2x Doomsayer
   2x Healing Touch
   1x BGH
   2x Dancing Swords
   2x Poison Seeds
   2x Keeper of the Grove
   2x Starfall
   2x Antique Healbot
   1x Emperor Thaurissan
   1x Tree of Life
3x Giants (I had two Mountains and one Clockwork)

Naturalize is still important to give us equal deck'd properties but other
than that we need to fight and keep the board clear. Once his armor is clear
that's a good time to use Tree of Life. Lots of cards are getting lost through
"My hand is too full" but as long as both Naturalize stick around things will
go more favorably.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chromaggus

This guy is really annoying but we have one huge advantage, Mana Wyrm!
Seriously I won with a ~12 power Mana Wyrm chopping away.

   2x Arcane Missiles
   2x Mirror Image
   2x Mana Wyrm
   2x Secretkeeper
   2x Frostbolt
   1x Thalnos
   2x Mad Scientist
   2x Sorcerer's Apprentice
   2x Duplicate
   1x Ice Block
   2x Mirror Entity
   1x BGH
   2x Flamewaker
   2x Kirin Tor Mage
   2x Echo of Medivh
   2x Ethereal Arcanist
   1x Antonidas

We need our Sorcerer's Apprentices to be duplicated or Echo'd as reducing
the cost of all spells is very crucial to surviving this. That's about the
main deck strategy. As for his cards and which we need to worry about...

Green is a waste, don't worry about it for a long time
Red is annoying, but again it isn't that scary
Black is REALLY BAD, you must cast it and rid yourself of it
Yellow is REALLY BAD, again don't let it stick around UNLESS he has very
few cards left in his hand
Blue is a wash. It's both really dangerous but unless he drops 3 swipes
on you then it isn't a must to ditch.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lord Victor Nefarius

There's no way around it, this is a tough fight and I know you're tired
of hearing this, but Mill Druid is our best bet. We also need Rag to not give
us something dead-freaking-useless like a 4/5 windfury but I digress

2x Innervate, Wild Growth, Healing Touch, Wrath, Poison Seeds, Naturalize,
Youthful Brewmaster, and Antique Healbot
2x Coldlight Oracle, Starfall, Keeper of the Grove, and Grove Tender
1x Tree of Life, 2x Doomsayer
   1x Feugan, Stalag, Emperor Thaurissan

Basically, we want to bounce either Coldlights or Healbots. Probably one
for each works out well. Doomsayer is a great turn 2 play as it shuts him down
completely allowing for easy decking. Naturalize we typically want to hang on
to for later on; similarly Tree of Life is great but we want to hang onto it.
We want to use healing to keep us above 15 health. With any luck, we can win.
I've done it a couple times now and there ya go

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Omnotron Defense System

This guy is so goofy and after running through normal mode with my control
Pali deck, I went ahead and said "Let's give it a go!" and sure enough I won
with my regular control Pali deck. Equalize is essential here, as is Kodos
and Peacekeepers. Pretty standard control Pali cards and I took him down
without any trouble.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maloriak

This guy is instinctively unfair and I gave a few decks a try before
going back to a tweaked Druid-Mill. The basic change is Geomancers, Kezan
Mystics, and Spellbreakers instead of Poison Seeds, Wrath, and any large
Minions.

2x Innervate, Naturalize, Wild Growth, Kobold Geomancer, Youthful Brew,
Healing Touch, Ancient Brew, Spellbreaker, Antique Healbot
2x Oracle, Grove Tender, Keeper of the Grove, Kezan Mystic, Starfall
   1x BGH, Tree of Life

He plays quite a few secrets so Kezan is hugely helpful. We need a lot
of silence to deal with his ability as well as things like Sludge Belcher.
With Kezan, we should steal a Duplicate which can help. This is one time
where we may not bounce Oracles in exchange for bouncing for more Silence.
Geomancers help as 3 damage to everything will make a huge difference. One
other thing; if he opens with his charging spell (2 mana for three 1/1 charge)
just start over as 9 damage followed by another 9 damage is a bit much.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Atramedes

I struggled and struggled to find an option for this before trying out a
"YOLO F IT" method. I landed on Hand-lock and it worked out with some great
success. Obviously, his weapon is annoying and grows per card played. As we
don't have infinite Swamp Ooze NOR do we have those spells anymore, we have
to play carefully, use huge taunts, and avoid playing too many spells together
unless we have plans of killing it. Here's how it went down

2x Mortal Coil, Demonfire, Acidic Ooze, Imp Gang Boss, Hellfire, Healbot,
2x Bloodsail Corsair, Ancient Watcher, Mistress of Pain, Sunfury Protec,
Demonwrath, Shadowflame, and one Defender of Argus
   1x BGH, 2x Molten Giant
1x Blingtron, Harrison Jones, and Jaraxxus

Frankly, Jaraxxus isn't necessary but he's a nice heal. The others help
quite a bit though as Blingtron really shuts him down for a minute and Harry
provides an additional outlet to stop his weapons. The Corsairs even help as
often I find the weapon is down to one or two charges but I just can't deal
with the weapon.

Tapping is fine, getting an Imp Gang Boss or Mistress of Pain down early
is great; and then letting the 1 damage weapon attack down for a bit. Ideally
throwing taunt onto Moltens is how we do quite a bit of work; although I did
have a 5 power Mistress of Pain doing some work as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nefarian

Unsuprisingly, the new Nefarian is a rather tricky battle. The swap to
Onyxia and back is troublesome and losing your battlefield doesn't help.
Mill Druid cannot deal with 4/2's being generated, so I ask Valeera to come
in and mill him to death. Seriously, the last turn being 11-12-13 mill damage.

   2x Backstab
   2x Prep
   2x Shadowstep
   2x Deadly Poison
   2x Blade Flurry
   2x Gang Up
   2x Sap
   1x Acidic Ooze
   1x Doomsayer
1x Lorewalker Cho (optional, use another Doomsayer otherwise)
2x Youthful Brew and Ancient Brew
   2x Oracle
   2x Deathlord
   2x Healbot
   2x Vanish
   1x Thaurissan

Gang Up the first time to Oracle, the second time to Healbot. Prep+Vanish
only grows in strength each turn you wait to use it. Sap when his hand is full
can rid of strong annoying minions. Cho if you have it works great to then
donate Deadly Poisons or BladeFlurries. The one Ooze is for Onyxia who brings
in a weapon. A long hard battle for sure.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So that's it. Overall, I felt like Blackrock Mountain was much easier than
Naxxramus (although this is prior to the Undertaker nerf) but even so. A
couple of Heroic bosses I took down with untweaked Constructed decks which is
just dumb that I'm able to do that but regardless...

As I said earlier, I'm open to thoughts and criticism. One comment from my
previous Naxx guide was to include suggestions to reduce crafting which I
hope I've done for you here by sorting decks differently as well as trying
to include more "concept" versus "card" when it comes to winning. Anywho

I check the email quite frequently still so feel free to send me one. Please
put "Blackrock Mountain" or "BRM" or "Hearthstone" in the title so that I
don't delete it as spam and can separate from the other guides I have written.

Peace!

Game on, forever and always
